Overwatch 2 6v6 Tests to Begin in Season 14

Overwatch 2 6v6 Tests to Begin in Season 14

For those that missed the 6v6 format of the first Overwatch and wished it was in Overwatch 2, you’ll be able to get that familiar taste back soon, though only temporarily, as Blizzard Entertainment has announced that they will be testing the Overwatch 2 6v6 mode in Season 14.

This was announced by the studio in a new blog post today centered around the 6v6 discussion for Overwatch 2. According to Blizzard, they are conducting two different tests for the 6v6 mode both happening in the game’s next season. The first test, which will launch a week into Season 14, won’t be your standard 2-2-2 role queue from the first Overwatch, but rather, will be more like Open Queue, which the studio internally refers to as “Min 1, Max 3”: each team of 6 must have at least 1 of each role, and no more than 3.

VALORANT Latest Tease Is The Exact Promise Overwatch 2 Failed To Deliver On

Riot Games has officially teased that a ‘playable experience’ for VALORANT is in development.

The second test happens in Season 14’s mid-cycle, and will offer the familiar 2-2-2 team composition (two damage, two support, two tanks), though it will incorporate some principles introduced in OW2 such as fewer CC’s (crowd control) and the hero reworks. These 6v6 tests will have their own card in Unranked alongside other modes, and won’t take the place of other games modes like seasonal events or Quick Play. Blizzard adds that they will also implement balance changes that will apply to these two 6v6 test modes, with the tank role feeling the biggest change, as their power and survivability will go down.

Can 5v5 and 6v6 Co-Exist in Overwatch 2?

Overwatch 2 Sigma Trying To Split His Weapon In Two

For those wondering whether there’s a future where Overwatch 2 can feature both 5v5 and 6v6, this is something Blizzard has thought of as well. While the studio can’t answer that question right now, the dev team notes that they want to make a game that players will want to play. If the community clamors for it, and Blizz gets the “signal” that it is what players want, they are open to the idea of it, since they know their players could want more than one experience.

With Overwatch 2’s Season 13 launching just this month, and each season of the hero shooter lasting for a total of nine weeks, this means Season 14 will fall somewhere in mid-December. I don’t know about you, but getting the 6v6 mode back — albeit temporarily — in December will feel like an early Christmas present from the studio to the community. If you like what you play, then, make sure to let your voice be heard by Blizzard to have 6v6 stick.

If you’ve only recently played Overwatch 2, the first Overwatch which was released in 2016 amd wasn’t free-to-play, featured a 6v6 format in all modes. Blizzard, in wanting to push for a much faster style of play, decided to eschew having two tanks available in a team, to avoid having two shields clogging up the battlefield. It’s debatable whether this was the right move or not, and I suspect it’ll depend on who you ask.

How to solve the piano puzzle in Black Ops 6

How to solve the piano puzzle in Black Ops 6

The piano puzzle is one of the earlier mysteries you’ll come across in the Black Ops 6 campaign.

Found on the way to the training area on the safehouse’s ground floor, you’ll have to find a hidden code to play the piano, which, in turn, will lead to more secrets to solve.

This Black Ops 6 guide offers an explainer on how to figure out the piano puzzle, as well as an explicit piano puzzle solution.

How to solve the piano puzzle in Black Ops 6

The first piece of the puzzle for solving the piano puzzle is picking up the blacklight torch. This is located on the nearby table in the same room, and can be toggled to read hidden messages.

Image: Treyarch / Activision

With the blacklight turned on, use the piano. You’ll see characters appear above the keys, which is a vital part of solving the puzzle. But what do these characters relate to, exactly?

If you haven’t already, turn the blacklight on while exploring the mansion, which is how you’ll find the code. If you’re struggling but still want to solve it yourself, know that everything you need is closer than you think.

If you want to know what to do next, we’ll start explaining where to look after the below image.

This is the sort of clue you’re looking for to solve the piano puzzle.

To find the piano puzzle clues, use the blacklight in the room you found it in. Specifically, look directly above the piano, where you’ll find the first note you need to play.

It also has an arrow pointing right. Follow this direction, and you’ll come across a second note. Repeat this until you work your way around the room, until you have five notes.

With all notes in hand, we can now play the piano. Make sure the blacklight is turned on, and play the keys directly below each note you found in the room in the order you found them in.

The piano puzzle solution is:

For example, play this key for ‘Pe’, as shown in the text above.

If you are successful, a hidden door to the right will open up — leading to a secret basement area, where more safehouse puzzles await.

If the code above doesn’t work for you, it’s possible the solution is random for each player. If that’s the case, follow the above steps, writing down or taking pictures of each note as you go, and enter those into the piano. Good luck!

Here’s How You Can (Maybe) Play The Next Witcher And Cyberpunk 2077 Games Early

CD Projekt Red has officially announced that its playtest program will be coming to the US, which means that residents there could be getting a call to play the new Witcher and Cyberpunk games currently in development.

There are some catches here, as CDPR says it will be selective when it comes to choosing participants. “If your gamer profile aligns with what we’re looking for, we’ll reach out to you either through email or by phone to ask about your upcoming availability. All playtests will be scheduled at least a few days in advance,” CDPR explained on its playtest FAQ page.

Other requirements include being at least 16 years old, and participants must not be involved in the game development industry on a professional level. Potential candidates must also reside in Boston or be ready to travel there for onsite activities.

If you meet the criteria, you can log in to your CDPR account and sign up through this form. While there’s no guarantee which CDPR games will be available to playtest, the CDPR Boston studio does include several Cyberpunk 2077 veterans–like quest director Pawel Sasko–who are working on a Cyberpunk sequel.

Cyberpunk 2077’s rough launch led to a massive overhaul at CDPR, and the company has multiple games in development. The Witcher 4 currently has more than 400 people working on it, a remake of the first Witcher is underway, and a new IP called Project Hadar is also being worked on.

Ubisoft announces new Raman game is “in early stages” of development, with creator Michel Ancel returning to consult

Ubisoft announces new Raman game is “in early stages” of development, with creator Michel Ancel returning to consult

Following rumours of a remake, Ubisoft has confirmed that a new Rayman game is being considered.

Over the weekend news broke that developers at Ubisoft Montpellier, the team which developed the excellent Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, had been disbanded and that a sequel had been turned down. This report was largely confirmed by Ubisoft itself which stated that “Most of the team members who worked on Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown have shifted to other projects that will benefit from their expertise.”

Tom Hender wrote on Insider Gaming that Ubisoft’s internal expectations for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was that it would sell millions, equalling the biggest metroidvanias on the market. Instead, it has sold around a million copies.

Now, a new report from Grant Taylor-Hill of Insider Gaming is suggesting that one of those projects is a Rayman Remake. According to “sources close to the situation”, the new Rayman game is going by the codename “Project Steambot” with Ubisoft Milan being the primary developers. Based on what he has been told, Grant is reporting that around a dozen developers from the disbanded Prince of Persia team have been shifted over to work on Rayman.

The report goes on to to say that Michel Ancel, the creator of Rayman, is working on the project as a consultant. This has apparently caused some concern among the team as Ancel was previously caught up in allegations of “toxic leadership” in 2020.

Eurogamer contact Ubisoft for more information, and surprisingly Ubisoft confirmed that a new Rayman game is in fact being worked on, with Michel Ancel returning as a consultant. The statement says that the new Rayman phase is “still in its early stages” so we likely won’t hear anything about it anytime soon.

UFO 50’s Retro Gaming Masterpieces, As Told By Steam Reviews

UFO 50’s Retro Gaming Masterpieces, As Told By Steam Reviews

Screenshot: Mossmouth / Kotaku

Do you fondly remember playing 8-bit adventures on the NES and original Sega consoles? Titles like Contra, Ninja Gaiden, and Mega Man 2, all from the late ‘80s, provided a unique gaming experience that’s hard to replicate today with modern technology. Hard, sure, but it’s possible—as we’ve now witnessed firsthand with the release of UFO 50.

The collection—presented as a lost collection from a forgotten developer of the era—features an assortment of single- and multiplayer games across multiple genres, from platformers to roguelikes, with even a few in-depth RPGs mixed in. All are created with an 8-bit retro style that harkens back to the days of gaming in your living room after school. You can beat some of the games in mere minutes, then move on to the next; others, however, require a few hours and multiple playthroughs. They’re all unique, many of them are memorable, and some deserve no more than a single run-through.

When we sifted through the Steam user reviews, we found an overwhelmingly positive reception from the gaming community. Most people love the indie retro collection and cannot praise the fun factor enough. As you’ll see below, nostalgia plays a significant role in many of the reviews. Numerous players gave a thumbs up because it felt like playing a game from their childhood, and there’s nothing wrong with feeling young again and enjoying your hobby!

But a few couldn’t get past many titles, which lack the quality-of-life features in modern gaming, or–they say–feel outdated and unnecessarily complex just for nostalgia’s sake. Despite the positive reviews, the negative ones prove highly negative. Many curse out the game and its developers; they shout from the rooftops about how unfun they thought most of the retro titles were to play.

Surprisingly, we didn’t find many meme reviews, just plenty of positive or negative reviews to help you better understand the game. Here is UFO 50, as told by Steam reviews!

A John Wick prequel is in the works about how the titular assassin managed to retire, and best of all? It’s an anime

A John Wick prequel is in the works about how the titular assassin managed to retire, and best of all? It’s an anime

The previously announced John Wick anime project is still on the way, and now it’s apparently a film about how the titular character retired.

Around this time last year, John Wick series director Chad Stahelski shared that an anime project set in the franchise’s world was in the works, and at the time it was planned to be a TV show. Now, though, according to a recent interview from The Hollywood Reporter with Stahelski, it seems that the anime has been retooled slightly. This outing will apparently be a prequel, focused on everyone’s favourite titular assassin, as he sets out on the “impossible task” that allowed him to retire for love. Whether that’s something that needed to be covered in a film or not is up for debate, but still, if done right a John Wick anime could be a pretty fun trip to the cinema.

Manage cookie settings

At the time of the anime’s announcement, Stahelski said they’re doing an anime because “I love Japanese anime so much. To create all the cool stories that anime could achieve better than we could and the TV show to expand our world, we’ll still get our fix, you know what I mean? And we’ll still have all the fun.” Stahelski is clearly trying to get his mitts on as much anime as possible, as he’s also been overseeing the action sequences in the upcoming Shinichiro Watanabe-directed series Lazarus, Watanabe best known for creating Cowboy Bebop, so I’m expecting some strong fight scenes from that one.

Stahelski also spoke of a possible John Wick 5, though didn’t necessarily commit to anything coming that way, saying, “is there an opportunity to do [John Wick 5]? Of course, there is, whether it’s for money or for creativity. Jesus, in the last three years, I’ve already had three or four versions of a John Wick 5. They were different ways to crack the story, but it’s almost a mental exercise for me.”

However, to preserve the ending of the fourth film, he did note that it “would not be part of that [John Wick: Chapter 4] storyline. It would not be what you would think it is. As far as [John Wick: Chapter 4], we’ve peaked.”

There’s plenty in the works for John Wick in any case, as there’s a sequel TV series on the way, alongside that Ballerina spin-off due out next year.
