How to Replenish Boot Bar in Death Stranding 2

How to Replenish Boot Bar in Death Stranding 2

Traversing through the harsh terrains and exploring the world on foot will deplete the Boots’ durability or the Boot Bar, as most players call it that in Death Stranding 2. Mostly, the new players to the series will recall the boot bar as a Stamina, but it is not. It is the durability of the current boots that Sam is wearing that shows how long the boots will last before wearing out. The boot durability mechanic is not new in the series, as it was in the original game. It is not surprising that the new players might struggle figuring out how to replenish the boot bar to continue the exploration and adventure without much struggle. In this guide, we will tell you how to replenish the boot bar in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.

How to Replenish Boot Bar in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

The Boot Bar or Boots’ Durability can only be replenished by wearing a new pair of boots in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. You cannot replenish or refill the boot bar of worn boots. All the boots that you wear for a long time will come close to breaking, leaving Sam barefoot. Sam can no longer sprint barefoot, and it will have a chance of causing foot injuries. So, your only way to continue the journey is to find a new pair of boots and equip them from the Cargo Shelf or Equipment Menu.

How to Get New Boots in Death Stranding 2

There are a couple of methods to get yourself new boots in Death Stranding 2.

Search the enemy facilities and drop/lost cargo.

Fabricate/Craft it at the Delivery Terminals.

The primary method to get yourself new boots is to find them during the exploration. As you traverse through the world, you will walk into various enemy facilities. Make sure to search the facilities thoroughly for any consumables, grenades, weapons, and tools. It will have a high chance of finding some new boots. Store the boots in your equipment so that you can swap when the current boots are about to break.

The secondary, yet finer method is to craft the boots yourself at any Delivery Terminal. However, before you can craft the boots, you first have to unlock their recipe. Fortunately, you can unlock it in the very first chapter while exploring Mexico. All you have to do is find the Cargo for “Bokka”. It will reveal the location on the map. Go there and make the delivery, and he will give you the recipe for Transporter Boots.

Once you have the recipe, go to any Delivery Terminal and select the “Fabricate Equipment” option. Here, you will be able to select the Transporter Boots and craft a pair for 16 Resins. It is a decent price for a pair of boots. It is better to craft a couple and store the others in your equipment, so that you don’t have to worry about the boots on the longer journey.

How to beat Everdark Sovereign Darkdrift Knight in Nightreign

How to beat Everdark Sovereign Darkdrift Knight in Nightreign

Elden Ring Nightreign has introduced a new, enhanced Nightlord for players to challenge as part of its live-service: Everdark Sovereign game mode, which reintroduces existing Nightlords with tough third phases. This time around, players must try and defeat the Everdark Sovereign Darkdrift Knight, and he’s a formidable opponent.

If you thought the Everdark Sovereign Gaping Jaws fight was troublesome, you’ve really got your work cut out for you here with the highly-mobile, hard-hitting centaur on your tail. To help you out, however, here’s how to beat the Everdark Sovereign Darkdrift Knight in Elden Ring Nightreign.

How to beat Everdark Darkdrift Knight in Elden Ring Nightreign

The Everdark Sovereign version of Darkdrift Knight (also known as Fulghor, Champion of Night) is abominable in Elden Ring Nightreign. He was already one of the game’s toughest Nightlords as it is, but his new enhanced fight pushes things to the limit.

That said, anyone who’s faced the final boss of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC should be well-prepared for this boss and the amount of Holy Damage he can deal, and will no doubt find this fight a walk in the park in comparison to the DLC’s conclusion.

The player, Ironeye, looks at the Everdark Sovereign Darkdrift Knight in the list of Expedition Targets in Elden Ring Nightreign
Challenge this Everdark Nightlord by selecting him from the bottom of the list of Expedition Targets. | Image credit: Bandai Namco/VG247

To challenge this boss, open your Expeditions menu via the Roundtable and select the purple version of Darkdrift Knight from the very bottom of the Target list (shown above). If he is not available for you, this means you must defeat the original version of the Darkdrift Knight first before his Everdark version will become available.

Here are some things to note before setting off on this Expedition:

The fight begins with Fulghor’s second phase, so expect that huge tentacle arm of his from the get-go. Once he reaches approximately 50% HP, he’ll then go into a new, third phase.
Fulghor’s primary weakness is Lightning. This means you want to keep an eye out for any Lightning affinity weapons or Incantations, and any passive effects that boost your Lightning attack power.
Fulghor is resistant to Holy and Madness, so don’t bother bringing those damage types along with you. If you can’t find Lightning, he is susceptible to ailments such as Poison, Scarlet Rot, Frost, and Bleed.
Fulghor is highly mobile, so use Nightfarer’s who can keep up with him. I particularly like Wylder and his grapple hook for this fight, as well as Raider and his preference for Colossal weapons. Ironeye is also always great for stance damage, and generally as a ranged attacker who can do consistent damage from a distance.
Look for traits and passives that boost your Physical Damage Negation and Holy Damage Negation. These are Fulghor’s main damage types, especially Holy, so anything that protects you from them goes a long way.
Aim for Level 13 at minimum. Everdark Fulghor is exceptionally tough, so you want yourself and your party to be appropriately tough. This means carefully selecting POI’s to clear in Limveld so you can try and reach Level 13 at minimum, and ensuring you have strong gear.
Upgrade your equipment. Blue rarity weapons are fine and can get you through some tough fights, but in this instance, you want to grab a Smithing Stone 2 and ensure your primary weapon is purple-rarity, if you don’t happen to find a Legendary Armament. Every little helps with these Everdark fights.
Use consumables. Warming Stones, Boiled Crabs, and so forth can always help out in a pinch, especially if you have a Relic that allows your items to confer effects to allies so everyone in your team can benefit. There’s no excuse for your Item Pouches to be empty when consumables are found everywhere!

As mentioned, this fight begins with Darkdrift Knight’s second phase, so his moveset during this portion of the fight shouldn’t be surprising to you. If you need a refresher however, check out our Darkdrift Knight boss guide for his original fight, which details his moveset.

Once Fulghor enters his third phase at around 50% HP, there isn’t any grand transition like the previous Everdark Sovereign Gaping Jaws fight. Instead, his gruesome arm disappears (thank God), and he begins to make use of his twinblade spear, occasionally using it as a bow (which is just unfair if you ask me).

He’ll also continue to use attacks from his previous phase – such as conjuring glowing fissures in the ground that you need to avoid – which hit harder than before, while utilising some new attacks that we explain below.

Ranged attacks to look out for during Fulghor’s third phase and how to counter them are as follows:

Single Shot (Bow): You can typically tell when Fulghor is firing off a ranged attack once you know what to look out for; he holds his twinblade in front of him while one end of it glows with a cross as he aims. If you manage to recognise it in time, you can easily dodge out of his arrow’s path or run behind him.
Rain of Arrows (Bow): Fulghor can use his bow to fire off clouds that produce a rain of arrows (much like the Ash of War you may have seen on various bows in Limveld or Elden Ring). There will be multiples of these that crash around the arena, following players and dealing Holy Damage. You’ll want to run away and avoid their path, as getting stuck in one can easily down a player.

Fulghor’s melee attacks using his twinblade are a little harder to get used to, though both of the most devastating attacks see him hold the weapon above his head:

AoE Sweep Attack: If Fulghor stands on his hind legs with his twinblade in the air, prepare for some large AoE slashes, which you can dodge through or run from depending on whether you’re playing a melee or ranged character.
Sweeping Combo: If Fulghor begins to spin his twinblade above his head, he will charge at his target unleashing a combo of sweep attacks that have very long reach. The best thing to do here, if playing in melee, is to dodge through the attacks, but be aware that these combos often conclude with Fulghor performing an AoE ground slam. Again, you can dodge this.

There are other sweeping attacks he’ll perform with his twinblade. Think of his weapon as similar to the popular DLC weapon, the Euporia, which can do a very fun spinning attack that inflicts Holy Damage. Fulghor’s weapon doesn’t quite spin, but he will slash in all kinds of directions with it; these attacks can be dodged through once you get used to Fulghor’s timing (which is fast!), while ranged players can play safely from afar for the most part.

The player, Ironeye, looks at the Everdark Sovereign Darkdrift Knight as he gallops into the sky and glows gold in Elden Ring Nightreign
This is one of Darkdrift Knight’s worst attacks to look out for and avoid. | Image credit: Bandai Namco/VG247

Another important attack to look out for that you can’t miss – seeing as it’s one of the few times this boss gives you a temporary break – is when Fulghor launches himself into the sky and begins to glow gold. His bow will be out, and he’ll be targeting one player with a single shot (and this single shot is much worse then the standard bow attack mentioned above).

You want to get as far away as possible from whoever and wherever Fulghor is targeting, as this arrow he fires not only deals damage, but triggers an explosion upon landing that can quickly wipe out your whole team.

This impressive YouTube video from ONGBAL showcases a no-hit run against the Everdark Sovereign Darkdrift Knight that takes the player just under three minutes. It is exemplary gameplay that’s very fun to watch, and will also give you a vivid idea of what moves to expect from Fulghor this time around.

Once you successfully manage to defeat the Everdark Sovereign Darkdrift Knight, well done! You’ll receive 25 Sovereign Sigils as a reward, which can be spent on skins, Relics, and triggering Shifting Earth events at the Collector Signboard in the Hold. Any subsequent successful runs will only reward you with five Sovereign Sigils.

Space Invaders 2 – An updated and improved version of a 1980’s Commodore PET classic! [C64 UPDATE]

Space Invaders 2 – An updated and improved version of a 1980’s Commodore PET classic! [C64 UPDATE]

We’ve seen lots of Space Invader variants over the years, from Havie’s Blitz Basic version of the game on the Amiga, to our personal favourite from Pink/Abyss called ‘Tiny Invaders’. Well yet again we’ve been sent another version of Space Invaders for you to enjoy, and it’s Jimbo’s Commodore PET game of ‘PET Space Invaders 2’ ; An updated and improved version of the original PET game from 1980.

Here is what Jimbo says about his new game : “Taito released the original Space Invaders arcade game in 1978, and as a high school student Satoshi Matsuoka created a masterpiece replica of Space Invaders for the Commodore PET in 1980. Taito updated the original arcade game in 1979 with the release of Space Invaders Part II. The updated game featured more aliens, spawning aliens and different UFOs. This is an updated version of the original PET game that more closely matches the gameplay of that 1979 Taito version”.

Good news Commodore 64 owners, as I’ve recently been informed by Saberman, that Space Invaders 2 has been ported over to the Commodore 64 by Milasoft with original PET code by JIMBO. The same creator who also did the Space Invaders 2 PET edition shown above. As for the differences from the other Space Invaders, it has bases which resemble the 1979 game, smoother bullet movement, colour!, respawning aliens that come to life,  and finally animated explosion effects. To coincide with this news, provided below is the download link.

Rematch director says there’s “room for more than one take of football” as the arcade sports game proves we don’t need countless simulations

Rematch director says there’s “room for more than one take of football” as the arcade sports game proves we don’t need countless simulations

You can trust VideoGamer. Our team of gaming experts spend hours testing and reviewing the latest games, to ensure you’re reading the most comprehensive guide possible. Rest assured, all imagery and advice is unique and original. Check out how we test and review games here

In an industry with countless FIFAs, sorry EA Sports FCs, Sloclap’s Rematch is a brilliant arcade football game that feels incredibly unique. Putting players in the shoes of an individual player, the new multiplayer game is essentially Rocket League without the rockets and cars… it’s football.

Nevertheless, Rematch is a game unlike any other, and it’s proven extremely popular. While the developer is working on expanding the game’s core gameplay and adding in crossplay after launch, players have already found themselves falling in love the new game.

In an interview with VideoGamer, creative director Pierre Tarno explained that the team at Sloclap wanted to go in an entirely different direction than other football games. While nearly every other developer attempts to recreate the feeling of a full squad in a realistic simulation, the team wanted their game to be “more about feel than fidelity”.

“There’s room for more than one take on football. A lot of games focus on realism and simulation, and that’s great but we wanted to go in a different direction. Rematch is more about feel than fidelity,” Tarno said.

“It’s not about stats or rosters, it’s about the joy of pulling off great plays with your team,” he continued. “We wanted something immersive, accessible, and dynamic; more about playing football than watching it from above.”

Part of this shift was also related to the choice of making a football game in the first game with Tarno focusing on the sport’s “incredible mix of simplicity and depth”. Like all of the best multiplayer games, there’s beauty in being part of this cohesive whole, and a well-rounded team can come together as one powerful unit.

“It’s strategic, emotional, and deeply collective,” Tarno explained when discussing the sport. “What really drew us in was the beauty of certain moments like a perfect volley or a fast-paced assist. We didn’t want to recreate football from a distance. We wanted to put players inside those moments, with their squad, feeling the intensity from the pitch itself.”

Obviously, Sloclap’s new project has paid off with millions of players jumping into the multiplayer football game. As a live-service game, the new multiplayer title has a long life ahead of it, and we’re incredibly excited to see where it goes.

Worms Armageddon Anniversary Edition gets ‘Backworms Compatibile’ retro modes | TheSixthAxis

Worms Armageddon Anniversary Edition gets ‘Backworms Compatibile’ retro modes | TheSixthAxis

Digital Extremes and Team17 have released a big update for Worms Armageddon Anniversary Edition, porting a whole host of classic Worms game experiences into the modern remaster and console release.

What’s particularly curious about how they’ve done this is that, rather than taking the PC release of each Worms Armageddon predecessor, they’ve instead gone with a bunch of console ports and adaptations, taking them from the 16-bit and 32-bit platforms of yore.

The three retro revamps are:

Worms (Super NES)
Worms (Genesis/Mega Drive)
Worms World Party (Game Boy Advance)

Then again, the game already included a playable version of the Game Boy Color version of Worms Armageddon, so going down the console and handheld path isn’t that outlandish, and these will make for some fun curios to explore.

Another nice touch is the community requested ‘Boggy B’ cheat code, which allows you to just toggle all unlockable content on via the Options Menu.

Having come out all the way back in 1999, Worms Armageddon is still considered by many Worms fans to be the high point of the series and it quite impressively still clings onto a daily player count of a few hundred people on Steam. It’s continued to outshine the potentially better for online play Worms World Party, which had a remaster a few years ago, and level pegs with Worms WMD, which is also a fine take on the classic 2D form that is somehow already 8 years old!

Launching last September, Anniversary Edition took the PC game and gives it the once over with modern improvements and touches to work on console – the game still has periodic updates on PC as recently as 2022.

Gamers!

Release Date

2017 – 2016

Network

AT-X

Directors

Tamaki Nakatsu, Mitsuhiro Yoneda, Yusuke Onoda

At first glance, Gamers! looks like another slice-of-life comedy about a high school gaming club. But instead of focusing on esports or competitions, it dives headfirst into the chaotic misunderstandings between people who just don’t know how to communicate.

The story follows Keita Amano, a socially awkward gamer who turns down an invitation to join the school’s gaming club. That small choice sparks a domino effect of confusion, jealousy, and misread intentions between him, the popular Karen Tendou, and a group of other students who are all, unknowingly, tangled in each other’s feelings.

What makes Gamers! special isn’t just its humor, it’s how painfully relatable it is. Everyone’s trying their best, but they keep messing up, not out of malice, but because they’re overthinking, overanalyzing, and sometimes just scared to be honest.

Underneath the comedy is a sincere look at how hard it is to connect with others, even when you share the same interests. It’s a reminder that friendships and love aren’t about perfect words or smooth plans, they’re about patience, empathy, and learning to clear things up before it’s too late.

Hori is a responsible homebody caring for her little brother, and Miyamura is tattooed, pierced, and far more complex than he lets on.

The series also gives space to its side characters, like Ishikawa, Yuki, and Sakura, who each carry their own quiet heartaches and soft victories. It’s not flashy, but that’s the point. Horimiya finds beauty in everyday moments and awkward conversations.

But the cyberware that gives David power also pushes him closer to psychosis. Each upgrade chips away at his mind. And as he tries to protect his found family, he begins to lose himself.

Studio Trigger’s animation is chaotic and breathtaking, capturing both the violence and vulnerability of its characters. The ending hits hard not just because it’s sad, but because you knew from the start, Night City doesn’t let anyone walk away clean.

Edgerunners is soul food for the broken parts of us. It asks: If you’re going to fall, isn’t it better to fall fighting for someone you love?

Vinland Saga

The Boy Who Hated, Then Chose Peace

Anime Vinland Saga

Vinland Saga begins with rage. Thorfinn, a young warrior raised by Vikings, lives for revenge. After witnessing the murder of his father, Thors, a pacifist who walked away from war, Thorfinn pledges to kill the man responsible: Askeladd.

He spends years in Askeladd’s crew, hoping for a fair duel. But in chasing vengeance, Thorfinn becomes something his father never wanted: violent, empty, and adrift. When Askeladd dies before Thorfinn can take his revenge, he doesn’t feel relief. He feels lost.

That’s where Vinland Saga changes.

Season 2 shifts from war to farming. It follows Thorfinn, now a slave on a Danish farm, trying to make peace with the person he was. There are no swords for most of the season, just hard work, quiet reflection, and conversations about forgiveness and freedom. And yet, it’s more intense than any battlefield.

Characters like Einar, a fellow slave who teaches Thorfinn kindness again, and Canute, a prince who turns into a cold king, make the world feel brutally real. And through them, Vinland Saga becomes a story about the cost of violence and the power of choosing not to fight.

Attack on Titan

When Freedom Has a Price You Can’t Afford

Attack on Titan finale

At first, Attack on Titan feels like a simple survival story, humanity trapped behind walls, fighting for their lives against giant man-eating monsters. But the deeper you go, the more you realize it’s not about Titans. It’s about fear, truth, and what people are willing to do to feel free.

Eren Yeager starts as a fiery boy who just wants to see the world beyond the walls. But over time, his desire for freedom twists into something terrifying. The series follows his transformation, from victim to hero, from hero to something far more complex and harder to define.

Every character in Attack on Titan faces impossible choices. Armin chooses diplomacy, even when it hurts. Mikasa struggles with loyalty and identity. Reiner breaks under guilt. These people aren’t symbols, they’re messy, real, and often wrong.

The show constantly flips its narrative, revealing that the “enemy” also sees themselves as victims. There are no clean sides, only trauma passed down, truths hidden, and wars born from fear.

By the time you reach the final season, the question isn’t who’s right? It’s what are we even fighting for anymore?

The Philosopher’s Stone That Taught Us About Sacrifice

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood anime

Two brothers, one mistake, and a world forever changed. That’s the heart of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, a story that begins with loss and keeps asking what it means to make things right.

Edward and Alphonse Elric try to bring their dead mother back to life using alchemy, an act strictly forbidden. The ritual fails. Ed loses his leg. Al loses his entire body. Ed then sacrifices his arm to bind Al’s soul to a suit of armor. From that point on, the two begin a journey to find the Philosopher’s Stone, hoping to restore what they lost.

But the road is brutal. They uncover a government built on lies, a military involved in genocide, and homunculi, creatures that manipulate from the shadows for their own twisted version of perfection. Along the way, they meet unforgettable allies: Winry, Roy Mustang, Riza Hawkeye, and many more who all carry burdens of their own.

What makes Brotherhood so powerful is its balance. It’s funny and warm, then devastating in the next breath. It shows war, trauma, and the scars people carry, but never lets go of hope. Ed and Al refuse to take shortcuts. They hold on to the idea that life has value, and that healing takes time and sacrifice.

By the end, Brotherhood doesn’t just restore what was lost. It gives the characters something better, understanding, maturity, and the courage to keep moving forward.

One Piece

The Treasure That Was Friendship All Along

Straw Hats In Enies Lobby_ One Piece

At its core, One Piece is about chasing dreams, even when the world tells you it’s impossible.

Monkey D. Luffy doesn’t want power or fame. He wants freedom. From the moment he sets out to sea wearing a straw hat given to him by his hero, his goal is clear: to find the legendary treasure known as One Piece and become the King of the Pirates.

Along the way, he builds a crew, not just allies, but a chosen family. Zoro, who dreams of becoming the world’s greatest swordsman. Nami, who wants to draw a map of the entire world. Sanji, who’s chasing the All Blue. Every Straw Hat has a dream that hurts to carry and a past they’ve had to survive.

For over 1,000 episodes, One Piece has remained emotionally consistent. It’s goofy, heartfelt, heartbreaking, and inspiring all at once. It’s not afraid to spend time, dozens of episodes even, building bonds, letting characters grow, and telling us over and over that the world is cruel, but kindness still matters.

What makes it soul food isn’t just its longevity, it’s the moments. Robin screaming that she wants to live. Going Merry’s final goodbye. Luffy punching a Celestial Dragon because someone had to. Moments that stay with you, no matter how much time passes.

GI Joe is coming to Overwatch 2, and the Cobra Commander pick is perfect

GI Joe is coming to Overwatch 2, and the Cobra Commander pick is perfect

The real American heroes of G.I. Joe — and the evil terrorist organization Cobra — are coming to Overwatch 2 next month in Blizzard’s latest collaboration with toymaker Hasbro. And this time, the picks are pretty much flawless, with Reaper cosplaying (and accurately whining) as Cobra Commander and Genji dressed up as Snake Eyes.

Joining Cobra Commander and Snake Eyes in the Overwatch 2 x G.I. Joe crossover are Freja as Scarlett, Widowmaker as Baroness, and Doomfist as Destro. Yes, I agree, it’s a little strange there’s no Duke skin for Soldier: 76, but maybe that’s being saved for another time.

Like past Overwatch 2 collabs with Transformers, Street Fighter, and Gundam Wing, expect the G.I. Joe skins to cost a pretty penny. But there will also be some free stuff, like voice lines, sprays, and other cosmetics that can be earned through in-game challenges.

Overwatch 2 x G.I. Joe launches on July 1. The game is free to play on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The game’s 17th season launched earlier this week, adding new Flashpoint map Aatlis; two new Stadium maps; and three new heroes playable in Stadium: Junkrat, Sigma, and Zenyatta.
