Vampire teeth ranked

Vampire teeth ranked

For more than a century, filmmakers worldwide have brought vampires to life on screens big and small across hundreds of interpretations. While cinematic bloodsuckers have ranged from the tween-friendly romantic to Bela Lugosi copycat to the gorily monstrous, almost all have one common characteristic: super weird teeth.

Vampire teeth vary drastically throughout cinematic history. One iconic depiction, Lugosi’s Count Dracula, had just plain old human teeth back in 1931. But you probably have a particular image in mind when it comes to bloodsucking fangs: extended canines just long enough to pierce a jugular vein, but not too long as to not be believably retractable.

Filmmakers have certainly tried to deviate from that classic look, to varying degrees of success (and coolness). For Fangsgiving, we’re ranking the seven vampire teeth archetypes in order of overall aesthetic, attractiveness, and creativity.

Romantic Stealth

Image: Recorded Picture Company/Pandora Film

See: Dracula, Interview with the Vampire, Only Lovers Left Alive, Underworld

Perhaps the most pervasive vampire teeth archetype, the Romantic Stealth vampire sports upper canine fangs that can either be retracted or are subtle enough to go unnoticed (until it’s too late). The Romantic Stealth vampire is, in most cases, hot. They are often lean, seductive vampire men who prey on vulnerable women, or captivating succubi that make monsters of horny men. They glam, or give off an alluring sexual energy, in part because they’re clearly attentive to dental hygiene.

The hot Romantic Stealth vampires of fare like Only Lovers Left Alive, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, and Underworld are marginally superior to their lateral incisor-fanged cousins, like those seen in True Blood, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and The Lost Boys.

Slightly Bat-Faced

Keifer Sutherland as David in vampire form in The Lost Boys

See: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Lost Boys, Vampire in Brooklyn

Slightly Bat-Faced vampires are more of an overall facial aesthetic than a strictly dental one, but the teeth of this group generally match their mutant faces. Vampires from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the soon-to-be-rebooted TV show), for exmple, have more than just sharp fangs; they have generally gnarly teeth that reflect the care and attention to aesthetics that an actual vampire bat may give its mouth. Which is to say “none.”

Still, the appearance of bat-faced vamps in movies like The Lost Boys and Vampire in Brooklyn conveys a more monstrous vibe that deviates dramatically from their regular human appearance, giving them less of an air of mystery and more of a terrifying transformation.

Straight-Up Repulsive

A bat-human hybrid version of Dracula is repelled with a crucifix.

See: From Dusk Till Dawn, Vamp, Bram Stoker’s Dracula

Just beyond the border of the Slightly Bat-Faced group is the repulsive group, which movies like Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Robert Rodriguez’s From Dusk Till Dawn embraced. The former goes full-body werebat, and the latter leans into snakelike aesthetics — extra long fangs and scaly skin included.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula isn’t all repulsion though; its vampires run the gamut from hot, horny, and hunky to overly fangy, abiding by the rule that the older the vampire, the more messed-up looking it is.

Pretty Normal, For A Vampire

near dark 1987

See: Near Dark, Let the Right One In, Twilight

There’s storytelling value in having a vampire that just looks like a Pretty Normal person. Or, at least, Hollywood’s version of a Pretty Normal person. Just a guy or gal who might occasionally find themselves covered in blood, so there’s some question about whether they’re a creature of the night or incredibly bad with appetite control. A Pretty Normal vampire can keep things interesting, especially when they look just like a cool, grimy guy like Bill Paxton in Near Dark or a nerdy energy vampire like Colin from What We Do in the Shadows.

Of course, the conceit of Twilight relies on vampires being handsome, with Edward and the rest of the Cullen clan being generally pale (sometimes sparkly) and chiseled, with teeth that make you go “that guy’s got slightly exaggerated cuspids, but certainly within the realm of looking pretty normal.”

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a Pretty Normal set of teeth on a vampire, but you’ve gotta make them visually interesting or compelling otherwise.

The Buck Tooth

See: Nosferatu, Salem’s Lot, Vampires Suck, What We Do in the Shadows’ Petyr

I’m sorry, I’m well aware that Nosferatu’s Count Orlok is the ur-example of the cinematic vampire, and I mean no disrespect. But the Orlok-style pointy buck teeth that have influenced similar bloodsuckers are a visual design that I cannot take seriously. The ratlike look of Orlok (and Kurt Barlow from the original adaptation of Salem’s Lot) is off-putting — to say nothing of the original Nosferatu’s stereotypical antisemitic caricature elements of its villain’s design.

In other words, canines are the sweet spot, lateral incisors are acceptable, but central incisors are just not where vampire fangs should go!

Way Too Many Teeth

Nicolas Cage as Dracula in the movie Renfield

See: Renfield, Van Helsing, Supernatural, 30 Days of Night

Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale’s take on Van Helsing is a fun, trashy time, and has some fantastic Slightly Bat-Faced vampires. But the film’s Dracula is a prime example of the rule that one can have too much of a good thing. Richard Roxburgh’s Dracula’s mouthful of fangs in Van Helsing is a visual disaster, which in no small part is due to the movie’s lumpy computer-generated special effects. They are definitely of a time.

The vampires of Supernatural and 30 Days of Night are similarly over-fanged with Chiclet-sized teeth that make me more queasy than scared. I don’t want to see that much vampire gum… ever!

Predator Mouth

See: Blade 2 and Trinity

I’m in the minority when it comes to Wesley Snipes’ Blade trilogy. I’m not a fan! (Though I do love Wesley Snipes as Blade.) Much of my apathy toward the Blade film franchise may have to do with the latter movies’ attempted one-upping of regular vampires with mutant super vampires called Reapers. These next-generation vampires have mandibles that split to give way to a retractable sphincter that not only drains blood, it drains any sense of cool associated with vampires.

In the end, Blade’s goofy-looking Reapers only serve to highlight how great Parker Posey’s vampire teeth — and Triple H’s Jarko Grimwood’s replacement metal teeth — are in Blade Trinity. One could argue that those specific teeth (and the name Jarko Grimwood) are the best things about Blade Trinity full stop.

Corsair M75 Mouse Review

Corsair M75 Mouse Review

These days, it feels like a gaming mouse will land on your lap if you just kick a tree. Some of these are workable, others are just your average $5 mouse sold for $50 because they tacked some RGB lighting on it.

The Corsair M75 wireless gaming mouse tries to navigate that saturated market by offering a mid-range option that is everything a mouse should be, with no added frills.

Like most Corsair peripherals, this mouse stands out in build and sensor quality, but there are some nuances about the pricing that are hard to ignore in this economy.

The Little Mouse That Could

With an MSRP of $79.99, the Corsair M75 wireless mouse comes in an unassuming but well-decorated cardboard box. The contents are your standard wireless peripheral kit: the mouse, a braided USB cable, and a USB wireless receiver. The only extra pieces are a set of side buttons, should you want to reconfigure them.

I ended up testing this in tandem with the K65 Plus keyboard, and a nice little touch I found is that the cables and dongles for each product are easily identifiable. The inner part of the connectors for the keyboard is painted black, while the mouse ones are yellow. Hardly necessary, helpful when pretending to do cable management.

Corsair M75 01

Corsair endlessly hammers the fact that this is a ‘lightweight’ mouse in the marketing materials for the M75, and it is impeccable in that regard. The mouse feels as light as a feather, and the official specs sheet lists it at a mere 24 grams.

There wasn’t much magic involved in setting up the Corsair M75: I plugged in the USB dongle, hit the mode button on the underside of the mouse, and that was it.

Taking the M75 Mouse into Battle

Corsair M75 02

One of my concerns about the M75’s aggressively light profile is that it would be hard to find a sensitivity sweet spot, coming from a bulkier wired mouse, but the pads on the bottom of the device give it plenty of grip on my ancient mousepad.

As someone who lives with a dog that sheds an unholy amount of fur, it was nice to see that the crevices in the M75 mouse are not prone to accumulating hair, dust, or debris. The pads and sensor are also mostly immune to the canine menace, and the little that would get stuck there was easy to remove with fingers.

Corsair VANGUARD PRO 96 Hall Effect Gaming Keyboard Review

A winning choice for your new forever keyboard.

The ambidextrous design of the M75 and the ease of swapping side buttons make this nice for left-hand users, and activating it simply requires holding a key combo on the mouse for a few seconds.

The mouse feels as light as a feather […]

Its sleep shape is rather comfortable to grip from different angles and table heights, and prolonged use never proved an issue during my test.

The battery life, in Corsair tradition, is a little bit ridiculous. After a month of work and play, I’ve had to give it a charge exactly once. While I cannot comment on whether the battery performance holds up after, say, a year of use, the early impression is very encouraging.

An Almost Great Mouse

Corsair M75 06

While being compact and light is great for portability, I wish the M75 were ever so slightly taller. If you have long fingers, you’ll often find your ring and little fingers dragging if you rest your index and middle fingers fully on the two main buttons.

The short profile also affects the usefulness of the side buttons, which are bordering on useless on the far side of the mouse. There is no comfortable way to work the two buttons there, and one might assume that is why Corsair left them inactive by default.

[…] the pads on the bottom of the device give it plenty of grip […]

Without tinkering with ICUE software settings, the two buttons on the far side work exclusively for working mouse settings, like fine-tuning the DPI when the bottom button is pressed, or to switch to left-handed mode, for example.

You can change this by going into the device settings and activating the All-Side Buttons toggle. It won’t help much with the ergonomics, but I suppose there is comfort in knowing you will never ever press those buttons accidentally since your fingers are nowhere near them.

For the standard price point of $79.99, the shortcomings of the Corsair M75 wireless gaming mouse, although not critical, are enough to justify searching for alternatives in the market. However, given how often it drops to as low as $49.99, you can get plenty of value out of it if you are patient.

Score: 7/10

The Corsair M75 wireless gaming mouse is light, compact, and very well-built. It follows the brand’s ethos for similar price ranges, where you get exactly what you need, without many add-ons or frills. However, while being light and small is great for portability, the size can be fairly bothersome, and the far-side buttons are virtually useless even when active. This is a good mouse for what it is, but that does not make it worth the relatively steep full listing price.

For Liberty! The fan made Helldivers film is well worth a watch | TheSixthAxis

If you like Helldivers then I recommend you keep an hour free to watch For Liberty! which is a new fan-made film based on Helldivers 2. It is exceptionally professional with spectacular animation and a rousing score that features familiar-sounding riffs.

It’s also very funny and captures the expandability of the Helldivers along with the fascist regime hiding under the name of Managed Democracy. There’s even a little Drag Race reference which I was not expecting.

For Liberty! finds the Helldivers on a planet where the Automatons are conducting experiments on the Terminids and creating cyborg bugs, but for what reason? The plot follows a female Helldiver as they investigate what is going and, of course, kill an awful lot of robots and bugs. It also cleverly uses the first person perspective from the game for a dramatic key moment, and like all good franchise films, teases a sequel right at the very end of the credits.

You can watch the entire movie below, but if you like it go and give them a like and follow on YouTube where you can find out more about the film.

Helldivers 2 has been a huge hit for Sony with an Xbox X|S version launching this year. On December 2nd 2025 the Python Commandos Premium Warbond will launch with three brand new stratagems and a new primary weapon. The new gun, a combination assault rifle and grenade launcher called the AR/GL-21 One-Two. It’s “heavy to wield, but the damage dealt is heavy too, making your primary slot more versatile than ever with two guns in one!”

You will also get the M-1000 Maxigun is belt-fed with ultra-high ammo capacity, and there’s a new Guard Dog assistant, this one is armed with a flamethrower. There is new armour, new emotes, new capes and all the usual cosmetic bobbins.

Alongside For Liberty! there is also an official Helldivers film on the way. The Helldivers movie will be based on Helldivers 2, but there is no confirmed release window, cast, or even what story will be told through the movie.

Samsung Went Rogue on Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, Black Friday All-Time Low Cheaper Than Last Year’s Models – Kotaku

Samsung Went Rogue on Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, Black Friday All-Time Low Cheaper Than Last Year’s Models – Kotaku

A very good value for money Android tablet.

Tablets have become real productivity tools that make it hard to tell the difference between a casual browsing device and a serious work tool. However, the best models often cost more than $800 and have features that most people don’t use. The Galaxy Tab S10 Lite from Samsung gets around this price barrier by giving you the core S10 experience in a more affordable package – as it cuts out unnecessary premium features while keeping everything you need for everyday use.

On Amazon this Cyber Monday weekend, you can get one for $249 (128GB/WiFi model) which is a great deal compared to the regular price of $349. This is the lowest price ever, so you can get premium tablet features without the flagship tax.

See at Amazon

Hardware for Performance

Samsung put an Exynos 1380 processor in the Tab S10 Lite which can handle tough tasks without overheating or lagging like cheap tablets do after a few months of use. This octa-core chipset and 6GB of RAM work together to keep multiple apps running smoothly. You can switch between your email, streaming video, and note-taking apps without having to wait for loading screens or interfaces to respond.

The 128GB of internal storage is enough for important apps and a moderate media library. However, the real flexibility comes from the microSD card slot which can hold up to 2TB of extra storage. Because it can be expanded, you can load up whole seasons of shows for flights, store years’ worth of photos, or install big games without having to delete things all the time to make room.

The 10.9-inch LCD screen is a good size for both portability and usability: It has enough space for comfortable reading and productive work without being too big like bigger tablets that are hard to hold. Vision Booster technology automatically changes the brightness of the display depending on how bright or dark it is around you. This means that you can read content whether you’re outside in direct sunlight or in a dark bedroom.

The battery lasts for up to 16 hours of continuous use which is enough for several days of normal use, like browsing the web, streaming, and playing games from time to time. This long battery life means you don’t have to worry about constantly checking the battery percentage or bringing chargers with you wherever you go with your tablet. Super Fast Charging technology fills the battery completely in about two hours so you can charge it during lunch breaks or between meetings instead of leaving it plugged in overnight.

The S Pen that comes with the tablet changes the way you use it by letting you write naturally and navigate easily which feels more immediate than just touch controls. Samsung added smart features that turn your messy handwritten notes into clean digital text, solve math problems as you write them, and even help you automatically organize your study materials. With Circle to Search, you can draw around anything on the screen to quickly search for it on the web. This gets rid of the boring copy-paste process that makes you lose your focus

The Tab S10 Lite runs Android with Samsung’s One UI on top of it and gives you access to millions of apps while keeping the interface cleaner than stock Android. Samsung usually gives their tablets security and OS updates for several years, which protects your investment longer than cheap Android tablets that are no longer supported six months after they come out.

This Cyber Monday deal is a great deal as instead of $349, it’s only $249. This tablet costs less than many mid-range phones, but it has a longer battery life, better performance, and smarter software that makes it more useful and productive.

New Dead Rising Game Set In Hollywood Reportedly In Development

New Dead Rising Game Set In Hollywood Reportedly In Development

Like a zombie bursting forth from its own grave, Dead Rising is apparently being resurrected for a new sequel following the success of last year’s Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

It’s those fine folk over at MP1ST who have the scoop, claiming that sources have informed them of a new game in the franchise which has been in development since at least 2023.

Interestingly, they note that the early signs point to this being a direct sequel to the first game, and potentially set before the events of Dead Rising 2. However, they do note that they haven’t been able to confirm this.

What they have confirmed is that Frank West is coming back, which makes sense since last year’s remaster helped introduce him to a new generation of gamers.

As for the setting, the new game will apparently take place in Hollywood, within a massive enclosed movie set, which sounds like a pretty awesome scenario. Frank will find himself going up against a crazed film director who shoves Frank and some other survivors through trials in a bid to shoot the perfect movie.

Other details include the return of Psychopaths, and a man with a bomb strapped to his chest who has been tasked with filming everything.

Taking photographs will once again be a gameplay mechanic, as will the classic Dead Rising time limit, this time based around the director setting up horrific time-limited scenarios.

I believe there’s definitely room for a new Dead Rising to thrive as a relatively small double-A style product. Last year’s remaster reminded me how fun the series could be, and how far it fell by Dead Rising 4.

Marvel Rivals is currently having a huge event to celebrate its first anniversary. During it, you can earn numerous rewards, from free Units to new cosmetics. Unfortunately, the event hasn’t gone without controversy. While NetEase allows you to earn Units for free, some of them are only available for a limited time and will disappear from your inventory.

Earlier today, NetEase released a new patch, fixing a problem with the Rivals Assemble event. Thanks to this, you can now unlock 600 Units from the event much faster. Unfortunately, the game has another issue, and that is a new currency. You can get 1500 Units by logging in, but these are only available during the event. If you don’t use them, they will vanish.

Marvel Rivals has a new currency, and it’s quite problematic

Marvel Rivals has been out for just under a year, yet it has released many new currencies. Even the three initial currencies: Chrono Tokens, Lattice, and Units, were confusing enough. Now, it seems that every event has a new currency, and the latest one brought limited-time Units.

If you now have 1000 Units and you get 1500 more by logging in, you won’t have 2500 in total. Instead, new Units will only be available for a limited time, and if you don’t use them, you will lose them.

New Units in Marvel Rivals can only be spent for a limited time before disappearing. Image by VideoGamer

While the new currency in Marvel Rivals is free, it’s also predatory. We hope that NetEase will simply release regular Units in the future and allow us to spend them whenever we like.

Still, the new currency can be useful, especially if you decide to take advantage of Black Friday deals. By stacking discounts, you can get several new cosmetics without spending a cent!

Hytale arrives in Early Access in January 2026 after being revived

After being cancelled by Riot Games and revived as an indie game again, Hytale is now set for an Early Access launch in January 2026. Pre-purchasing will open December 13th, with it going live January 13th.

No doubt many are excited about this since it had a lot of followers watching it in previous years, thanks to its blend of a sort-of Minecraft style but more of a proper RPG. So a bit like Minecraft and Skyrim combined you might say.

In a fresh announcement the developer makes it clear this will be a very real early access, not like a lot of the early access styled stuff we see on Steam where the game is nearly finished. This will be “very much unfinished and will be buggy for a while” and they expect the “first impression will be rough”. Still, it’s going to be nice to finally see it out, and with the creators actually in full control.

Just over a week ago they also put up a nice long slice of gameplay too:

Are you excited for Hytale?

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault has another patch for Steam Deck and to improve performance for all

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault has another patch for Steam Deck and to improve performance for all

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault from Digital Sun and 11 bit studios should run a whole lot smoother for everyone now, and feel better on Valve’s Steam Deck.

Hot on the heels of the last big patch, another update has been rolled out that should be a pretty dramatic improvement to the feel of it overall. There’s a fair bit more to the patch than just performance upgrades and tweak for Steam Deck but the highlights for you are:

Big pass on stuttering. We’ve cleaned up a lot of unused or unnecessary data throughout the game. You should now see way less stuttering, and in many cases, virtually none at all.
Controls, performance, and menus are more Deck-friendly now, ie, Settings and Difficulty selection screen being easier to read and navigate.
Default Steam Deck graphics settings now use FSR3 – Quality instead of Balanced, for a sharper, more stable look right from the start.

Once again – it’s great to see such dedicated support for Steam Deck / SteamOS. Always great to see, as a result it should run even better on Desktop Linux with Proton too.

More about it from the Steam page: “Dive deep into Action-RPG with roguelike elements and a tale about new beginnings. With no coin to your name, you and the other townsfolk find yourselves stranded in the distant village of Tresna. Now, it’s up to you to get back on your feet and turn your humble shop into the beating heart of the village’s wealth. Explore dangerous dungeons, gather relics, sell them, and reinvest in your friends’ establishments. Unlock new weapons, armor, shop decorations, and—more importantly—restore hope that things can one day turn around.”
