P.S. I make no promises about not giving up and going to bed. It’s kicking off at 1AM here in the UK and these shows typically last 3-4 hours, and I’m already sleep-deprived this week. If I fall asleep and land face-first on my keyboard, I can only hope that the ensuing gibberish doesn’t screw this post up too much. Well, more than my normal brand of gibberish.

Fallout Is The Franchise That Bethesda Is “Doing The Most In” Right Now

Fallout fans have been understandably curious about the future of the franchise, especially since Fallout 5 isn’t expected to arrive before The Elder Scrolls 6, and Bethesda hasn’t been very forthcoming about when that game is coming either. For now, Bethesda’s Todd Howard is keeping the company’s plans close to his vest, but he has indicated there’s more happening with Fallout than any other Bethesda property at the moment.

“We’ve had a long-term plan for Fallout, and so I wish I could talk about all those today,” Howard told IGN. “I’ll just say this, it’s the franchise that we’re doing the most in right now.”

Howard also indicated that the success of Prime Video’s Fallout TV series hasn’t altered those plans or caused Bethesda to move up its timetable.

“We had a plan for the games we were going to make,” said Howard. “The TV show was part obviously of our Fallout plan as far as a franchise. And in a lot of ways, I view it as an entry, as a game entry. Games are one lens into the world, the TV show is another lens into the world.”

The show and the game world recently intersected in Fallout 76’s Burning Springs update, which added Walton Goggins’ The Ghoul as an important character. Howard praised the new update, but refused to directly answer questions about the rumored remaster of Fallout 3. However, he did reiterate how pleased he was with the release of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion remaster, and hinted that future titles like that may also be given shadow drops.

Earlier this fall, Bethesda released Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition, but the rollout has been marred by numerous bugs and other issues that sparked a backlash. Bethesda released an update last month to deal with some of those problems, with a second bug-fix update slated to arrive this month as well.

Fallout Season 2 will premiere on Prime Video on December 17. In the meantime, the Fallout Pip-Boy Xbox Wireless Controller is now available for preorders.

Arc Raiders gets a few map exploit fixes in latest patch as Embark prepares to slow down how often patches are released

The time has arrived for another Arc Raiders update, and Embark has certainly delivered. Today’s patch, version 1.6.0, is among the smallest the game has received so far, focusing almost exclusively on disabling map exploits.

Perhaps more important than the patch itself, however, is the announcement the developer made around it.

Starting off with patch 1.6.0, it takes out a particular zipline on Stella Montis, the game’s most recent addition ot the map roster. Some players used said zipline to get out of bounds, something the game has been battling on several of its maps.

On Blue Gate, the patch fixes a collision issue that allowed players to vault through a wall, and fall to their death. The map fixes continue with another on Spaceport Launch Tower, which takes out a gap in collision that players have been able to shoot through.

The last change in this update affects gameplay feel around Arc enemies. Certain materials in the game’s world weren’t blocking their vision – or fire – when they should have, and this has now been fixed.

Alongside today’s patch, Embark also announced that going forward, we’re going to see fewer patches for Arc Raiders. The game has been getting updates almost every Thursday since it launched in late October.

Now that most of the major problems have been fixed, the studio is shifting to a slower patching cadence. Critical fixes will still be issued as soon as they’re developed, but don’t expect a patch each week going forward.

Embark also revealed that patch releases and in-game store rotations will now occur on Tuesdays. You should also expect the next few weeks to be quiet, as members of the team go on holiday breaks.

But, before everyone goes away, the game is going to get one more big update. The last item on Arc Raiders’ roadmap, revealed in early November, is the Cold Snap event. This is on track for Tuesday, bringing some new content alongside a few other fixes.

Mega Raichu Flies Around Like Superman, And It Rules

I’ve put maybe five or six hours into Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC, and I spent maybe two of those hours desperately searching for two items: Raichunite X and Raichunite Y. These two Mega Stones would allow Raichu, my favorite Pokémon who has never gotten any respect, to Mega Evolve into one of two forms. I had been begging Game Freak for Mega Raichu for so long, I had honestly given up hope that my boy would get a superpowered transformation in Legends: Z-A, then they gave him two. I like them both, but I gravitated toward the X form pre-launch, and now that I’ve seen the guy in-game, I’m feeling very vindicated, because my guy is flying around like Superman.

Raichu never got a Mega form when the mechanic was introduced in Pokémon X and Y, which was just one of the many examples of Game Freak and The Pokémon Company giving my boy the shaft in favor of Pikachu, his much more popular pre-evolution. Pikachu got the Gigantamax kaiju-style transformation in Sword and Shield, as well as exclusive Z-Moves in Sun and Moon. The only time Raichu’s ever gotten any “love” is when Game Freak turned him into something else entirely by giving him a floating psychic version in the Alola region, and that imposter won’t stop following me around in every game. Now, however, the OG can float around, too, thanks to Mega Evolution.

According to the Pokédex, Mega Raichu X is able to float like this because of the electromagnetic repulsion from his two tails. Before we saw him in-game, I imagined this would manifest in Raichu floating with a vertical stance, almost as if he were ascending with his tails pointed toward the ground. This would’ve probably looked silly, but I liked the design enough to let it go. What I wasn’t prepared for was to see that my super-powered mouse friend pulls a Clark Kent and flies with an arm extended like he’s got a city to save. Y’all, I am obsessed.

It’s a fun stylistic choice, but it actually has some pretty important perks in battle, too. Mega Raichu X can fly up to attack targets in the air, letting him knock Mega Shards off the sides of tall buildings and use physical attacks on flying enemies. This is kind of his whole deal. Mega Raichu X is the physical attacker, while the Y form is focused on special attacks. Now that he can fly, no one is out of range of a punch from his chonky paws. Neither Mega Raichu gets a type change after transforming, so while Mega Raichu X doesn’t become an Electric/Flying-type, I’m fairly certain he will gain the Levitate passive ability that makes him immune to Ground-type attacks, though we won’t know until a future game, as Legends: Z-A doesn’t include abilities. If that happens, Mega Raichu X will be one of the few Pokémon without any weaknesses, as Electric’s only weakness is Ground. That would be such a cool perk, and might make this transformation a force to be reckoned with in competitive play in Pokémon Champions next year.

Both Mega Raichus have gotten some flak for looking too similar to Pikachu, with X having its pre-evolution’s color scheme and Y maintaining its body shape, but I couldn’t be happier with these two. I like seeing the entirety of a Pokémon’s lineage show up in its Mega form, and Mega Raichu X’s flight-based movement is a really endearing new page to add to that history. I hope this form shows up in the anime soon so we can have sick clips of Mega Raichu X flying around and whooping ass. Until then, I’ll be using mine to save the citizens of Lumiose City. It’s a Pidgey…it’s a Latias…no, it’s Mega Raichu X!

There are three rewards included in the Twitch Drops for Palia that players can claim for free from December 9, 2025, to December 30, 2025, by watching their favorite content creators on Twitch.

The Winterfest event is just around the corner, and Epic Games has prepared lots of new content for it. Once again, the game developer will bring many rewards, and most of them will be obtained by opening gifts. However, one of the rewards is a free wrap, which will be released to the Item Shop.

A recent leak has revealed details about the gift, including its release date and how to obtain it. If you’re a fan of festive Winterfest items, you will soon get the opportunity to add another cosmetic to your locker.

How to get a free Winterfest wrap in Fortnite?

The new Fortnite cosmetic is called the Hollypaw Wrap, and it features a festive red and green design with an eyepatch. According to the leak, you will be able to claim on Thursday, December 11, so mark your calendars. To get it, you simply need to open the Item Shop and purchase it for 0 V-Bucks.

This free gift arrives on the same day as the OG Season 7 update. This update is bringing back the Infinity Blade, Planes, and the snowy biome, so the festive wrap fits perfectly with the winter theme taking over the game.

The Hollypaw Wrap is part of the Luckypaw set, which includes the Leelah skin. Interestingly, the skin was released in early Chapter 3, yet Epic has kept the wrap in the game files without releasing it. Fortunately, this is a free reward, so make sure that you obtain it before it expires.

With the Winterfest event around the corner, Epic will release many other rewards. Traditionally, the Fortnite creator releases two free skins for this annual event, and we expect the upcoming one to follow suit.

Overwatch 2 has launched the big Season 20 update but unfortunately for Linux / SteamOS fans, it comes with some really annoying crash bugs.

Such is the way with live-service type games, where Linux clearly isn’t a tested platform before updates are rolled out. Something that may cause issues over time with Valve’s new upcoming Steam Machine. However, as long as you don’t do a few things you should be okay. The issue is that certain menu interactions will just completely crash the game. We’ll have to wait for Valve developers to get a fix into Proton for the game to work properly again.

From the bug report on Valve’s Proton GitHub the game will crash and quit if you do any of these:

Open the chat and close it or press enter with it open (confirmed myself).
Clicking on a prestige tier in the new battle pass (confirmed myself).
Potentially pressing ESC during a match (didn’t happen for me).
Clicking around in the Missions section of the menu.

So, stay off the chat entirely during matches and you should still be able to play. As annoying as that may be. I’ve played quite a few rounds and it will reliably crash if you try to interact with the chat box. There’s also posts on the Steam forum about it crashing on Linux PCs and Steam Deck too.
