TerraTech Legion is releasing soon (April 30th) and now there’s a refreshed up to date demo for you to try before you buy and I do suggest you give it a go! I’m really hyped for this one to arrive.
What is it? Imagine the original idea of Vampire Survivors, but you build up a modular vehicle from blocks. You continually build up your vehicle when you level up, and smash through the hordes. It’s incredibly satisfying and a really nice mix on the genre.
What’s changed in the new demo? The developer said:
There will be things you are familiar with in the demo like the Dustbowl planet, Mikela, and some enemies, but you’ll notice that there’s a lot that’s changed since the demo last year, so let’s unpack that a bit.
First thing’s first, the progress you make in this updated demo will transfer over to the full game, so all of your hard work crushing Legion in the demo won’t go to waste!
During your first run, if you explore enough, you might find some Legion bases; you’ll be able to find lots of different rewards from these in the form of buffs and pickups, and defeating larger bases can provide rewards that will carry you all the way to the end of the run.
Expect hordes of new enemies, from the lowly Legion fodder, to Super Elite infantry with special attacks, and even a brand new boss to test your skill against.
Once you finish your first run, you’ll be able to spend the XP that you’ve gathered on different upgrades for Mikela’s tech, making it faster, stronger, and more versatile.
We’ve made many other tweaks that would be far too long a list to go into here, like: weapon arcs, control improvements, many more blocks, visual improvements, game-balance – so you’ll have to discover the rest for yourself.
It should work great on Linux with Proton, and the developer said it will run great on Steam Deck too as “We all love our Steam Decks at Payload”.
When Escape from Tarkov was released, it was the defining moment for the extraction shooter genre, paving the way for games like ARC Raiders and Marathon, and creator Nikita Buyanov is striving for innovation once again.

Escape From Tarkov Chief Showcases New Space Shooter
Nikita Buyanov showcases upcoming Sci-Fi FPS with stunning reveal trailer.
Buyanov has been working on a new sci-fi FPS game called Fragmentary Order, which is being developed by the newly-formed Rant Gaming Studios, while Battlestate Games continues to work on Escape from Tarkov.
Tarkov Creator Says Fragmentary Order Could Be the Start of a New Genre
Fragmentary Order
While there’s still a lot of mystery surrounding Fragmentary Order in terms of how the gameplay loop will work, we’ve been shown quite a bit about the lore of the game.
FragOrder takes place in the year 2251, after humanity was brought back from the brink of total destruction by an AI-controlled corporation known as Core.
With the help of this corporation, humanity began to overcome famine and war, unite the governments of the world, and explore the solar system, but now, the Core’s control has been weakened by newly-formed, power-hungry alliances, resulting in a Fragmented Order.
While this exciting new space shooter has been lovingly nicknamed “Starkov” by fans, Buyanov revealed in a recent interview that this game may not be what you expect. “We call it a combat simulator. It will have extraction mechanics, but it will be pretty different. Again, we want to have something new in the genre, create some new mechanics, and maybe it will be another genre after all.”
FragOrder has reportedly been in production for a year now, and is being built with Epic Games’ Unreal Engine, but a firm release window has yet to be announced.
FragOrder takes place in the year 2251, after humanity was brought back from the brink of total destruction by an AI-controlled corporation
Buyanov says, despite the basic mechanic being to infiltrate and exfiltrate, there will be other types of gameplay, and your main objective is to improve your life by earning money through the system: “The basic extraction principles will be there, but they won’t be the main principles.”
Tarkov fans might be wondering if FragOrder will have any sort of lore connection to EFT, but when asked if any part of the story comes from Tarkov, Buyanov simply replied, “This I won’t say.”
With the massive success of ARC Raiders, which took home the best multiplayer game of the year award, and Marathon also doing extremely well, we’re seeing the extraction shooter genre evolve and start to snowball in terms of popularity, and Buyanov says the key to success is soul.
“It’s a never-ending battle. A lot of games try to do different things by looking at each other and imitating the same things over and over, especially in extraction shooters. They don’t understand that extraction shooters and Tarkov-like games are different. You can’t just re-create all the same features. You need to put the soul into it. To put the soul into it, you need to love what you do and make a game that you love to play.”

Escape From Tarkov Spin-Off Is Free For A Limited Time
A new mission is also available, granting a multitude of new rewards.
As reported by Variety, indie film production and distribution company Neon is set to adapt Sam Evenson’s horror short Mora into a full-length feature film. Currently sitting at well over four million views on YouTube, this viral horror hit was independently produced by Evenson via his Grimoire Horror channel. The channel currently boasts nearly 200,000 subscribers.
Kicking off with a set of hands typing the prompt “women made of rotten meat” into an “AI” generator, the story follows Cody (Tim Torre), a young artist who has lost confidence in his own art. Claiming that he is doing all this for himself and his partner Hanna (Jamie Taylor Ballesta), he quickly becomes obsessed with clicking into ever more horrifying depictions of this artificial woman being tortured via dozens of increasingly disturbing prompts. Naturally, this does not end well for him as the lines between reality and fiction begin to disappear.
Image: Grimoire Horror
The short is shot almost entirely in a shadowy apartment, dimly lit by blue light from multiple computer screens. Much of the subject matter serves as a stark cautionary tale for those who retreat from human society into a dark corner of the internet. In the case of the protagonist Cody and his partner Hannah, they’re unlikely to ever emerge again. In the process, Cody has unleashed a terrifying monster on the world.
Though Evenson has worked as a VFX artist on big-scale productions such as Dune: Part Two, The Last Of Us, and Thor: Love and Thunder, this will be his feature directorial debut. Image Nation’s Ben Ross and Iron Ocean Productions’s Addison Sharp are set to executive-produce the film. Details are otherwise sparse, but there’s no denying that the short taps into legitimate concerns around the overuse of AI. After Neon smashed box office expectations with Longlegs in 2024, this could be the company’s next big hit.
A curated mods program has been announced for Transport Fever 3, giving community modders access to developer Urban Games to create their mods, in addition to early access to get up to speed ahead of launch.
Additionally, Urban Games has announced a closed beta testing scheme for the game on consoles, aiming to ensure that the cross-platform launch goes as smoothly as possible.
Urban Games is getting massively more ambitious for Transport Fever 3’s launch than they were for TF2. TF3 will be a simultaneous launch across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and it will have modding support on day one, which will also be available cross-platform via their own Mod Hub – this will use a new automated approval system that has been created in collaboration with Sony and Microsoft. This will enable everything from new vehicles and maps to script-mods, sharing save games and localisations.
Having already worked with their keen community through earlier stages of development and testing, Urban Games is opening up the Curated Mods Program to new applications – this sign up will go live here shortly. Access will be limited and granted based on having a proven track record of mods for TF2 or similar games in the genre, but they plan to expand the system after launch to give creators more resources, visibility and means financial support.
Transport Fever 3 looks to build on the previous games with over a century of transportation history featured in the game, wrapped up in both a sandbox of transport management, and a single player narrative campaign. We went hands on a few months ago, playing a mission all about saving Mardi Gras after a weather disaster, and following that up with making sure that Woodstock gets to run as well as it possibly can.
In our preview I said, “I feel that these narrative missions and tycoon gameplay will really help make Transport Fever 3 more accessible. I often find myself at a bit of a loose end when simply presented with a sandbox, so while that absolutely remains, having both a way to ease players into the simulation, and to give objectives in an intelligent way that keeps you more engaged will be great.”
Roblox has a tricky tightrope to walk between making its online sandbox safe and keeping it fun. On one side, players rail against changes locking off social settings and requiring privacy-threatening age checks, and on the other side Roblox is beset by lawmakers claiming the platform isn’t doing enough. It’s a balancing act, but at the moment Roblox doesn’t seem to be pleasing anyone.
Roblox has long faced controversy fuelled by its young-skewing player base, from accusations of child labor exploitation to a bombshell Bloomberg report that alleged Roblox had become a hotbed for child predators. The company has faced legal action from many states across the US and internationally, including from LA, Australia, Texas, Louisiana, California, and more.
The company’s responses to such accusations haven’t always made for great PR, from CEO David Baszucki’s notoriously poor handling of a New York Times interview to studio head Stefano Corazza saying Roblox was doing a good thing by allowing 15-year-olds to work. While defensiveness has often been the company’s go-to response to accusations around safety, the mounting pressure has now seen Roblox pull the trigger on a number of sweeping platform changes.
Troy Baker, the bloke whose voice has been in every videogame ever throughout all of history, has some big plans to make games.
During an inteview with the Kinda Funny Gamescast, Troy Baker revealed his plans, saying “I want to proliferate the wisdom and the experience those other great studios — and bad — have given me, and be able to fold that into new experiences, and try my hand at it.”
I want to build a team. I am excited about building a studio with people that I’ve worked with, that I trust, and going, ‘Here’s my idea. How can you make it better?’”
Host Greg Miller asked Baker what the timeline is, but the voice actor states he doesn’t want to rush the project.
“Somebody asked me in a conversation goes, ‘What’s your timeline?’ And I said, ‘Not rushed.’ Because I’ve seen a lot of people that have rushed into to opportunities and I want to do it right. And especially if I’m going to create a studio where other people are going to be responsible for my choices.”
Troy Baker has voiced so many videogame characters that it is impossible to name them all, but highlights include Indiana Jones, The Joker, Joel and just recently, the lead in Mouse: P.I For Hire. Over the years, he has undoubtedly picked up a lot about making games and running studios. But will he be able to put it into practice?
Vampire Crawlers is out now on PC and consoles, and it’s a very, very good game. I think I like this newly released spin-off more than the original auto-shooter, Vampire Survivors. But Crawlers is a very different game from Survivors, and it might take a few runs to wrap your head around how cards, gems, power-ups, and combos work. So, I’m here to help give you some tips and advice to make the early hours of Vampire Crawlers a bit less challenging and a lot more fun.
Always be combo-ing
Vampire Crawlers quickly teaches you about combo-ing cards during your runs. But in case it wasn’t clear enough in the tutorial, you should always be combo-ing cards. Remember, ABC: Always Be Combo-ing!
To combo cards in Vampire Crawlers, you play them in the order of their mana cost. So if you play a 0-cost card, then you need to play a 1-cost next, and then a 2-cost next, etc. Doing so will build your combo meter and greatly improve the next card you play. This becomes very useful and powerful against big waves of enemies and bosses, as you can get more armor, do more damage, or gain more mana than normal, and with fewer cards.
Use wild cards to keep combos going
Wild cards are one-use cards you use during runs. These cards have various effects, but have a bookmark symbol on them instead of a mana cost number. They can be helpful alone, but are really useful to help fill a gap in a combo, as they ignore the number rule and increase a combo by one regardless of what comes before or after. So if you have a 1-cost mana card and a 3-cost mana card, you can use the wild card to fill that gap and build a bigger, more powerful combo. So don’t play them right away; instead, use them tactically.
Smash into everything
Dotted around every map and level in Vampire Crawlers are different objects, like chests and candles. Crash into all of these whenever you see them. These items, which are marked on the mini-map as dots (at least after you get a certain relic very early on in the game), will offer you extra gold, new cards, and much more. You can even find chicken, which can be consumed by running into the cooked poultry again. However, before you chomp down on that meat…
But don’t always eat that chicken
Chicken will replenish some of your health. This is handy. But you don’t have to eat chicken the moment you find some. Instead, unless you’re very close to death, I recommend moving forward, killing more enemies, and exploring. There are other ways, often involving using cards, to gain more health, and armor, which you also earn from cards, can protect you and your precious HP. I would often wait until I was nearly dead or after I had killed the level’s boss before chomping down on any chicken remaining in the area, letting me take full advantage of its healing effect.
Evolve cards whenever you can
Sometimes you’ll be given an option to offer up two cards to evolve them into one card. Do this. Nearly every evolved card I got was a powerhouse that could help me clear enemies and stay alive. They cost more mana, so make sure you have enough to actually play these cards, but if you do, you’ll be wrecking skeletons and bats more effectively than ever.
Upgrade might and greed ASAP
Like Vampire Survivors, this new spin-off lets you permanently upgrade your stats using gold coins between runs. I highly recommend upgrading the greed stat right away. This will help you earn more gold, which will let you upgrade more stats sooner. Useful! Might is also a good one to upgrade, as it will let you do more damage, which can help a lot against tougher bosses and big waves of enemies.
Add the zero-cost gem to cards that give you more mana
Some cards have empty slots where you can add gems as you collect them during runs. These can buff cards in some useful ways. And if you end up with some Tome cards, which give you bonus mana, add the zero-cost gem to them whenever you get a chance, as that means you literally get free mana for playing a zero-cost card. I’ve reached over 15 mana in a battle using this strategy. Combine with a card that gives you a bigger hand, and you can become a nuclear bomb of magic spells.
As you explore dungeons in Vampire Crawlers, you’ll find chests and other items that award possible boosts, gems, or new cards. The thing is, you don’t have to take most of these most of the time. If none appeal to you or seem worth grabbing, you can cash out and take gold instead. And sometimes this is the smarter play, especially if you’re already dominating or are near the end of the dungeon.
Replay earlier runs to grind for gold
If you haven’t realized it yet, gold is very important. It lets you unlock new crawlers and upgrade stats. So try to make a habit of going back through older levels you’ve cleared already to earn some quick gold.
Activate the Sharp Mind bonus in the Arcana tent
Once you unlock the Arcana tent in town, you’ll have access to new super-powerful modifiers that can greatly alter runs. One of these is the Sharp Mind bonus. This lets you keep up to five mana points between turns. This is a huge, huge advantage, and combined with some extra mana boosts and card draws, can quickly lead to some wild plays.
Use Arca Ladonna early on
Arca is my favorite early game crawler. He has fire wands, which are nasty when combo-ed, and his crawler card grants three bonus mana when played. He’s very useful if you like to build big combo decks and need some extra mana to pull that off.
Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred has, without question, been one of my most anticipated releases of 2026. Diablo 4 is likely my most played game ever by sheer hour count, so it’s easy to see why this expansion is so high up on my list. However many rakes Blizzard has stepped on over the course of the game’s live service, however many seasons or events it botched, I maintain that no other ARPG matches Diablo 4 in either game feel or production value.
My memory isn’t that short, however, and I remember how disappointed I was with the game’s first expansion, Vessel of Hatred. Apart from giving us one of the best classes in the game with the Spiritborn, it did little to advance the narrative and often felt like it had the scope of a side quest.
Nevertheless, I remained hopeful that Blizzard’s eagerness for a comeback – and a one year gap – would result in something special.

The events of Lord of Hatred pick up shortly after the conclusion of Vessel of Hatred. Neyrelle has found herself in another new region in her continued search for a way to prevent Mephisto, the eponymous Lord of Hatred, from escaping the stone she and the rest of the squad precariously trapped him in at the end of Diablo 4.
One of the things I always look forward to in Diablo is how each of its regions informs narrative and character makeup. Just like VoH’s Nahantu, LoH’s Skovos stands as a distinct new destination that brings fresh aesthetics, sights and sounds to a world with a lot of already existing variety.
The Skovos isles occupy what’s essentially the Mediterranean region of Sanctuary. You can easily mistake them for the Aegean islands, or any of the various Greek provinces. Blizzard liberally borrowed the red-tiled roofs, textured stucco walls and cobblestone streets of those real-world locales to create Skovos. One sub-region in particular has the closest thing we have to a parthenon in Diablo 4.
Skovos’ people take after DC Comics’ Themyscira, Wonder Woman’s birthplace. Much like them, the Amazons of Skovos are a matriarchal society of warrior maidens, led by a queen who plays a sizable role in the events of the expansion.

Beyond its visual significance, Skovos has a unique place in Diablo lore as the birthplace of humanity’s progenitors, the direct descendants of Lilith and Inarius. This being the first time Skovos has appeared in any Diablo game immediately makes it the most exciting of any region to visit. The landmass in Skovos is a little smaller compared to some of the other regions, but there’s enough topographical and locational variety there that it never got boring in the 30+ hours I spent with the review build.
Given how much the Amazons factor into almost every facet of this expansion, you’d think that the Amazon class would be the no-brainer new addition. Blizzard decided, instead, to go with something bold: a hybrid class that may not immediately fulfil any existing fantasy, but ends up being the game’s most complex. The fantasy fulfilment has instead been left to the second new addition in Lord of Hatred, the Paladin.
The Paladin has been available for several months now, having shadow-dropped back in December. It is the sword-and-board class that Diablo 4 somehow survived years without having any version of; not even their Crusader off-shoot from Diablo 3. The Paladin does, however, borrow some skills from Amazons of games’ past, and one of its variants even incorporates Angelic moves.

The Warlock has the look of your edgy, metalhead highschool friend who’s now well into his 40s, and continues to dress like the days you first met him. He dons a Metal Band black tee and baggy shorts, and always brings his rubber sandals to every occasion; he’ll never be caught dead with a good haircut. That may or may not be off-putting, depending on where you stand, but it’s that devotion that adds to the Warlock’s charm. Much like that friend – and the Warlock’s in-game lore as the grimy practitioner of the dark arts who’s not afraid to literally rip demons from Hell to do their bidding – you have to bring a certain level of commitment to the way you play it.
The Warlock is a demanding class to play. It occupies the dual role of summoner-caster; a wretched spawn of Necromancer and Sorcerer. It requires a kind of skill management that goes several steps beyond the typical ARPG flow of cycling through skill rotations. Because you’re able to tactically sacrifice some of your minions, and use others to buff and inform certain attacks, you end up needing to plan ahead often, at least if you want to be as effective as you can. When you successfully pull it all off, you’ll feel like you’ve achieved a sort-of mastery of the battlefield none of the other classes could offer.

My favourite part of Lord of Hatred is its narrative. This is the most exciting and eventful campaign of the three, and it’s up there with the best of Diablo 3’s myriad stories. There’s practically no fluff, and it often comes across as an apology for Vessel of Hatred, whose forgettable campaign was characterised by long trudges through uninteresting story moments, only for each to amount to very little.
This campaign brings back the most interesting characters from the main game, in some ways representing the next stage of their arcs – and in others reexamining them altogether. Lilith (who remains D4’s most intriguing character) returns, but this Lilith feels like she’s in conversation with the Lilith from D4’s campaign. Her motives remain unchanged, but losing almost all of her power has exposed a side of her that I wished the first campaign had touched on. Her actions in LoH are more consistent with where I felt Blizzard should’ve taken her by the end of D4.
Lord of Hatred concludes with the sort of finality that signals the end of a story that began with Diablo 4. It’s not pulling any punches, and it’s not afraid to kill its darlings. It has a final boss with one of the most inventive mechanics in any recent action-RPG, a well-realised culmination of mechanics and themes.
If you’re the sort who skips cutscenes in ARPGs out of habit, you’re going to miss out on some of the most spectacular cinematics Blizzard has ever created. The acting, direction (and shot composition in some) combine to deliver moments as heartbreakingly-emotional as often as they are triumphant. This is a tale worth witnessing unfold, and it’s one I am eager to experience again on my personal, non-review account.
Whether or not you sit through the campaign, however, you’ll find plenty to get excited about in Lord of Hatred’s gameplay. The new level cap of 70 paves the way for reworked and expanded talent trees for all classes. The new skill tree borrows some of the best powers that were previously locked to Legendary gear, essentially making them more accessible to all players.
The Talisman builds on that, adding another way for players to attain abilities and passives that offer serious boosts to some of the most basic functions, such as the number of healing potions or dodges. You can further specialise your build through sets and their set bonuses, which ends up adding one more item to the list of things to chase.
When the loot you get isn’t quite what you wanted, you can now upgrade its rarity and further tweak its affixes through recipes using the returning Horadric Cube. I didn’t get much use of it during the review period, but considering how many times I’ve hit a ceiling in my hundreds of hours of Diablo 4 when I simply run out of interesting gear, I am eager to see how I can use the cube to dig myself out of that hole without having to pray for a Mythic Unique.
Indeed, another system that seems to target a pain point I’ve always had with Diablo 4 is War Plans, which essentially gamifies the endgame. Through it, you can create a playlist of the endgame activities you want to play, which feeds back into progression trees for each type of activity, all existing beyond the individual dungeons/runs. Completed plans offer extra rewards, on top of whatever else you earn after finishing each item in the playlist.
Lord of Hatred accomplishes the near-impossible task of delivering a game-changing expansion that fundamentally improves on the core of Diablo 4, and a weighty narrative conclusion that so brilliantly balances spectacle with emotional heft. Essential for any fan of ARPGs.
Food is one of the sources for replenishing and increasing your maximum health bar in Windrose. The game introduces you to the cooking feature in the first hour of the game, requiring you to gather some ingredients and turn them into devouring food. Like most of the resources you gather, collecting ingredients unlocks corresponding food recipes for you to cook at the cooking station. The better ingredients you collect, the better recipes you can cook for the journey. In this guide, we will tell you all the food recipes available in Windrose Early Access.
How to Cook Food in Windrose
You can cook food at the “Cooking Fire” station in Windrose. It is the main cooking station that you can place down through the Building Panel (B) using 3x Wood and 3x Stone. All the food recipes that you get to learn by picking up ingredients like meat, egg, fruits, vegetables, and fish will be added to the Cooking Fire station. You can interact with the Cooking Fire station to view all the recipes and select the one you wish to cook. Of course, you must have all the necessary ingredients available at your disposal, either in inventory or in the storage chests, to cook the food.
Initially, the Cooking Fire will be Level 1, meaning you will only be able to cook “Uncommon” meals. To cook a better rarity meal, you will have to upgrade the Cooking Fire to Level 2 and then Level 3. The Level 2 Cooking Fire station allows you to cook “Rare” meals, and the Level 3 allows you to cook “Epic” meals.
All food items in Windrose replenish and temporarily enhance the maximum health bar of your character. Moreover, the high-tier meals also improve the character’s stats temporarily, including Strength, Agility, Endurance, Vitality, etc. If you are following a specific build for your character, consuming a meal for the corresponding increase in stats helps greatly.
