Pokemon Go February 2026 Events: Raid Bosses, Spotlight Hours, Community Day, And More


It’s the final month of Pokemon Go’s Precious Paths season, and the mobile game is wrapping it up with a variety of big events over the next few weeks. In addition to new Raid bosses and Spotlight Hours, the game is hosting a Community Day starring both Vulpix and Alolan Vulpix, while the Paldean Pokemon Flamigo is set to make its debut as part of a Carnival of Flamigo event.

That’s not all that’s happening in the mobile game this month. Pokemon Go’s annual Valentine’s Day and Lunar New Year celebrations also return, and the game is closing out the season with the global Pokemon Go Tour: Kalos event. You can read more about all of this month’s biggest events below.

As it is not a main hobby and only a seasonal hobby, unlocking and upgrading this hobby is a bit different and expensive. In this guide, we will walk you through the Snow Sculpting Hobby in Heartopia.

How to Unlock Snow Sculpting in Heartopia

Unlocking the Snow Sculpting hobby will require you to meet with Azure near the Winter Utopia Station in the Onsen Mountain region. You can take a bus ride to the station and go down the road to find Azure.

Once there, speak with Azure and select the “Fashionwave Hobby” option. It will open a menu from which you have to purchase the Snow Sculpting Hobby for 100 Wishing Stars. As you purchase the hobby, you will get the “Hobby Obtained” screen like other regular hobbies.

How to Upgrade Snow Sculpting Hobby in Heartopia

Azure also offers a 10x Snow Sculpting Hobby Upgrade Ticket for 50 Wishing Stars each and a Snowball Sculpting Bench for 5000 Gold in her Fashionwave Hobby store. The Snow Sculpting Hobby Upgrade Ticket is essential for upgrading the level of your Snow Sculpting Seasonal Hobby. Moreover, the Snowball Sculpting Bench is essential for building Snowmen and Sculptures using Snowballs.

NOTE: Do not purchase the Snowball Sculpting Bench, as Azure will give you one for free.

You cannot use the regular Hobby Upgrade Tickets to upgrade the level of Snow Sculpting Hobby. Purchase the special Snow Sculpting Hobby Upgrade Tickets and use them to upgrade the hobby once you have enough points. You earn points by making successful snow sculptures on the Snowball Sculpting Bench.

There are 5 upgrade levels for Snow Sculpting Hobby. Even though Azure has a stock of 10 upgrade tickets, you only need 4 of them to reach the max level. As you start from Level 1, you only have to upgrade 4 times to reach Level 5. It will cost you a total of 200 Wishing Stars for 4 hobby tickets.

How to Get Snowballs and Make Snow Sculptures in Heartopia

After your initial encounter with Azure and purchasing the Snow Sculpting Hobby, speak with Azure again. She will give you a brief introduction on Snowballs and making Snow Sculptures. Go through the introduction, and you will receive the following items.

3x Snowball

1x Snowball Sculpting Bench

1x Snowball Machine

As Azure said in her introduction, you cannot gather regular snow and turn it into snowballs. Instead, you must place the Snowball Machine anywhere, and it will make a snowball. It takes 1 hour (real-life time) to make 1 snowball. If you switch off or pick up the Snowball Machine, the time will reset. It is best to place the Snowball Machine somewhere around or inside the house, so you don’t have to move it.

Once the Snowball has formed, collect it from the machine and take it to the Snowball Sculpting Bench. Select the icon on the bench to initiate the sculpting process. You have to click on the snow icons until the time runs out. Keep on clicking for snow icons on the screen for 20 seconds, and you will make a random Snow Sculpture. For every successful snow sculpture, you will earn 20 hobby points. You can use the Snow Sculptures to decorate your home freely.

TIP: Making your first successful snow sculpture is a part of the quest for Azure. Return to Azure to gain a reward of 10x Snowballs.

After completing the initial quest for the Snow Sculpting quest, you will have 10+ Snowballs. Use these snowballs to make the snow sculptures and earn hobby points.

Snow King Achievement

If you have unlocked the Achievements by reaching D.G. Member’s Guild Level 15, you can earn the Snow King achievement from Snow Sculpting Hobby. To do so, you must reach Snow Sculpting Level 5.

Nintendo’s been making a fair few announcements and dropping trailers lately, and there’s rumblings about a Nintendo Direct in the near future. Here’s our headlines for the week.

Games in Review & Featured Articles

It’s about to get a fair bit busier as we head into February, but the first big hitters always target the tail end of January. Code Vein 2 is the pick of the bunch this week, an ambitious sequel that looks to go beyond being just an ‘anime Soulslike’. I mean, it is still that, but….

Of course, the main game that was on people’s lips this week was Highguard, the Game Awards closer that immediately drew the ire or many an online gamer, but does it deserve it?

We also jumped at the chance to go hands on with Resident Evil Requiem, playing an extended chunk of the game and bouncing back and forth between the action-heavy Leon and sneaky scary Grace gameplay.

Jim revisited Warhammer 40,000: Darktide to see how it’s holding up in 2026, while I swiped a coin to check out Reigns: The Witcher.

Rounding out the week, What We Played featured Speedball, Cairn and Highguard.

A Stylish Survival RPG Drenched in B-Movie Camp

It is always a bit of a hit-and-miss affair when comic books or graphic novels cross over into the medium of film or games. Marvel took a while to find their footing before the creation of the MCU in the late 2000s, and unbelievably, even Spider-Man couldn’t get it right until the turn of the millennium. However, for every success like Sin City, you have a Tank Girl or a V for Vendetta that didn’t quite nail it. 

Hopefully, the game conversion of I Hate This Place, based on the successful run of comics from Image, will hit the mark with this new survival RPG. Let’s see if it does.

I Hate This Place is developed by Rock Square Thunder and is their second game following The Light Bringer in 2022. Both games are very different but share a distinct isometric visual style.

The Horned Man and the Hunt for Lou

In this game, you take on the role of Elena. Along with her friend Lou, she takes part in a summoning ritual to awaken the Horned Man. Naturally, things go pear-shaped; Lou is taken, and Elena is left alone in a strange world. She heads out to find her friend and discover exactly what happened.

The world that Elena discovers is full of strange creatures, alien abductions, and crazy cultists. It is a place full of B-movie camp rather than realistic horror, and the dialogue and narrative embrace this notion effectively. However, sometimes I felt that the tone wasn’t quite right; with so many things going on story-wise, I occasionally lost focus on the thrust of the main arc.

Exploration vs. Nocturnal Nightmares

The gameplay is a mixture of survival horror, stealth, combat, and resource management. And from there, the day/night cycle creates two distinct phases of play. Daytime is when you can do a lot of exploring and gathering resources, while at night, all manner of monsters want to kill you. Speaking of survival elements, I Hate This Place leans into an old enemy: hunger. Yes, whether you love it or hate it, keeping Elena fed is key. If her hunger worsens, your stamina bar depletes, which is very annoying as stamina is vital for avoiding monsters.

Your Aunt and Uncle’s ranch serves as your base of operations. Here, you can build items like workstations or food management systems to make your life easier. You can also upgrade your weapons and build water storage. All of this works well enough, though don’t expect a complicated building simulator.

Visually, I Hate This Place is strong

Stealth and Survival

I liked the main story beats and side quests, which range from the mundane to the surreal. Most of the creatures in the game have poor sight, so using sound is key. You must tread carefully, avoiding puddles or broken glass. You can also distract enemies by throwing objects one way and then slipping past while they are investigating.

Combat Constraints

Combat is okay, but I found the lack of a dodge button and the fixed camera to be a bit of a problem. The enemies aren’t necessarily the issue, but the controls in these situations take a while to get used to. I spent a lot of time hitting enemies, running away, and trying not to get grabbed. When you do get grabbed, you take a lot of damage, which is a massive drain on your health. Furthermore, it feels like the monsters need a lot of shots to take them down, even with a shotgun, which is a major problem when resources are low. Consequently, stealth becomes key, and avoiding combat is the best strategy, which is a bit of a shame.

The visuals beautifully echo the I Hate This Place’s comic book roots with striking colours and style. There’s a clever mechanic where sound is visualised; like in a comic, text bubbles reading “Thud” might appear when you move. The overall design is executed nicely with a great colour palette.

The audio works fine as well, with some fully voiced characters here and there, and a soundtrack that hits the mark in certain places even if it feels less effective in others. Overall, the visuals and sound design are among the highlights of the game.

Interesting, but we’re not fans of the combat

An Interesting World with Frictional Fights

There is a lot to love about I Hate This Place, especially in terms of the story, visuals, and audio. However, I do think the gameplay loop, the combat and stealth, isn’t as fun as it should be. Combat, especially, feels a bit too unforgiving, and generally is unenjoyable. I liked the quests and the exploration though, as the world design is very interesting, but on the flip, I wouldn’t have missed the survival mechanics. 

I Hate This Place is just about worth a whirl though, as you look to enter into some B-movie horror.

Ask anyone about Lemmings, and their first memories, would probably be about a bunch of blue and green haired Lemmings that could be blown up, ripped apart and dropped from the highest of points before they even hope to reach that exit. So why is that great game getting another mention on Indie Retro News? Well at some point in the near future, it looks as if Jörg Karwath and team will be releasing an enhanced version of Lemmings for the C64. Although do be aware that while there are numerus tweets about the game, we don’t as of yet have any full details.

Here’s what we gathered from the tweets so far. Not only is this fan remake called Lemmings Reloaded, with programming by Jörg Karwath. But it also features over 55 themed levels, such as a jungle and demonic underground with pixel art from The Wilds creator @JohnHen65953721, and finally, fantastic music by @Nordischsound. And that’s all we know so far but as soon as we know more, expect further updates this year right here on IndieRetroNews.

Whether you are playing solo or with a friend, it is best to know about the game’s combat mechanics. For instance, there are various element types that you can use to apply status effects to enemies.

Let’s break down everything you need to know about status effects in No Rest for the Wicked, so you can take full advantage of this system and use it to your advantage.

No Rest for the Wicked Player Shooting Fire Arrows

Since No Rest for the Wicked is in early access, the number of element types and status effects is pretty limited. With that being said, there are a few that you can mess around with that will help you deal some serious damage to your enemies.

Burn deals damage over time to enemies that are ignited. This status can be built up by hitting the same enemy multiple times. Once built up, it deals 25% increased damage over time to the target.

Shock damage is built up on the target, causing a large lightning strike with consecutive hits. This strike branches to nearby enemies, shocking them as well.

Plague

Infection

Grants lifesteal to the attacker, and seems to cause a damage over time effect similar to burn.

Physical

Bleed

Enemies who are affected by bleed will take damage over time as they move.

So far, these are the only element types and status effects in No Rest for the Wicked. With the game being in early access, there is a chance that more could be added in the future.

Find your way in the past or in the present

The Code Vein 2 map is one of the game’s key features, and follows a design similar to Elden Ring. There are landmarks to draw your attention, tall buildings that hide dungeon entrances, and old facilities that contain precious, long-forgotten treasures.

Whether you are exploring the map in the past or in the present day when the protagonists wake up, navigating it can be quite confusing. In addition to the maze-like corridors, the verticality of most locations can make you feel disoriented. The design of Code Vein 2’s map makes searching for important items or enemies a challenge in itself, but there are multiple valuable things to search for.

Map Jammers are small purple trees that you should seek out and destroy to clear the map and have a better sense of the area. Next, Golden blood beads and golden nectars are important materials required to upgrade your character’s healing items. Once ready, you can start looking for new blood codes and unique weapons to make your character stronger.

Scattered across the map are special vendors called Jadwiga’s Minions, who may have upgrade materials and strong formae to equip your weapons. You can also find these by opening treasure chests. Most of these are well hidden, but occasionally you will find a chest waiting for you in plain sight.

Mindseye Developer Poised To Divorce IO Interactive, Says New Report


In a decidedly baffling turn of events, the developers of Mindseye – one of the worst reviewed games of 2025 – is apparently soon going to announce that it has decided to part ways with publisher IOI Partners, the 3rd party publishing arm of IO Interactive. Yes, you ready that right, it’s not IO Interactive ditching them, it’s Build A Rocket Boy filing for divorce.

Word comes by way of Tom Henderson at Insider Gaming, who claims sources have informed him that “the decision is driven by Build a Rocket Boy’s desire to bring its publishing in-house and gain more control over its future.”

But most shockingly, “It’s understood that the decision to part ways is Build a Rocket Boy’s, rather than IO Interactive’s.”

Mindseye launched in June of 2025 to terrible reviews (a 33 on Opencritic) that made it one of worst-scoring games of 2025. To make matters worst, it was IO Interactive’s first foray into publishing 3rd part games via their IOI Partners branch. It seems they were attracted by Build A Rocket Boy’s leader Leslie Benzies, who was a producer Rockstar and who worked on the Grand Theft Auto series.

Unfortunately for IO Interactive, not only was Mindseye was a critical mess, it was a sales disaster. It was so bad IO Interactive has even expressed doubt about its long-term 3rd party publishing plans.

And yet staggeringly, it appears IO Interactive isn’t the one cutting ties with Build A Rocket Boy, despite the huge failure of Mindseye, and the comments of Co-CEO Mark Gerhard who accused a “concerted effort” made by bots and paid influencers were the cause of the bad reception. He even seemed to hint toward Rockstar being the guilty party.

So, what’s the future for Build A Rocket Boy? Well, according to the company’s own financial details, they have enough cash to tide them over until April of this year. Their future relies heavily on Ascendant, an arena-shooter from PlayFusion, a developer that Build A Rocket Boy acquired in in December, 2024.

And to Build A Rocket Boy’s credit, they have continued updating their game. Hell, there’s even a surge of positive reviews on Steam defending the game, both for not being as bad as people made out, and for recent improvements.

Highguard has been on a bit of a rollercoaster since its reveal at The Game Awards just last month, with plenty of pre-launch confusion about how the game actually works. Now that it’s out, it’s clear why Highguard is tough to explain. The competitive shooter combines elements of battle royales and base-defense to create a raid shooter. It can be overwhelming at first, but we’ve got plenty of tips to make you the best Warden you can be.

Sealed loot bunkers don’t replenish

If a raid phase ends without the attacking team winning the round, the loot around the map in Highguard respawns. Not all of it though, only chests that are easily accessible around the map. On each map there are small rooms with multiple chests in them, blocked behind a reinforced door, which can be spotted by the black material on the door. You can use a raid tool or an ability to break into these, but they don’t replenish between rounds. This means if there is one close to your base, it might be beneficial to wait a round or two, as the loot will be a higher rarity.

You can move a little when reviving teammates

Getting your squadmates back in the fight with revives is essential to turning the tide of a team fight that isn’t going your way. While it does take some time to revive a teammate, you can move a little while going through the animation of breaking open their little blue orb. This means you can grab a teammate and pull back behind cover, which also means it’s beneficial to be mindful of where you are taking cover. If there’s space between your team and your opponents, you can probably get away with peeking around cover, even if you do get taken out.

Prioritize harvesting Vesper early

During the looting phase, especially in the earlier rounds when loot is a lower rarity and therefore cheaper at the shop, it’s more beneficial to focus on mining Vesper. Vesper can easily be found at the circular buildings that contain the vendor around the map, but it’s fairly plentiful and can get you a stack of shields or a better gun faster than just scrambling for loot. Plus, if you get taken out by the enemy mid-looting, there isn’t much punishment since you keep the Vesper and can access the death vendor while waiting to respawn.

Guns aren’t important loot, everything else is

Since guns found in chests are often all the exact same loot rarity during a round, finding guns isn’t really a worthwhile mission while looting. Outside of special gear in the airdrops, if the current rarity tier is blue, the vast majority of guns are going to be blue, so unless you really want to find something specific it isn’t worth worrying about. Instead, smaller pieces of equipment–helmets, saddles, ziplines–anything that either improves your survivability or gives you an advantage during a raid is far more important.

Don’t get too attached to your starting loadout

our initial loadout in Highguard should be treated as completely disposable. All of your weapons start at white rarity (the lowest) and blue rarity weapons are available as both loot and vendor shop items. Even if you can’t find the exact weapon you want, opting to keep a white tier weapon is going to put you at a disadvantage against your opponents basically immediately. If you truly have a weapon, like a sniper rifle, that you feel like is a must have, at least pick up one blue gun, otherwise you’re going to have a tough time winning direct gun fights.

Revive teammates and finish off enemies quickly

Highguard has a fairly quick time to kill, making it imperative to get any advantage you can during a fight. A big one is taking enemies off the board, and keeping your teammates in the fight. Blocking an enemy’s revive takes only a few seconds, and offers ultimate charge and shields for doing it. Plus, it guarantees that your opponent will have to do a full respawn, guaranteeing they are fully out of the fight for a bit. Reviving teammates takes longer, but with the 3v3 match size, every teammate is important in a fight.

Reinforcements are for creating chokepoints, not impenetrable barriers

If you’ve never played Rainbow Six Siege, you might find the raid defense prep stage a bit overwhelming. You start with five wall reinforcements, with more found during the looting process. Your goal with reinforcing around each bomb site is not to completely block every single wall, but to instead create a chokepoint. While enemies can certainly approach from reinforced walls, creating a path of least resistance gets enemies coming from a predictable direction. If every wall is reinforced, you’ll be left guessing where enemies will approach from.

Go outside your base bubble during raids

While defending against a raid, you can leave your base’s shield wall bubble, but you will be marked for your enemies to see. However, that doesn’t mean you should never push outside. It can be worth chasing down an opponent, especially if you have a numbers advantage, since the enemy team has a limited number of lives. You may need to deal with smaller openings around the shield, since enemies can use the Dome Breaker Knife to open smaller parts of the barrier shield. You might be on defense, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait for your enemies to come to you.

Win as a team or lose by yourself

In a three-person squad battle royale, it’s tough to win without team cooperation. In Highguard, with only two teams of three, it’s basically impossible to win without team work. There are few advantages to pushing solo or spreading out as a team. Even if you want to approach from different angles, starting a team fight while one of your teammates is off looting most often results in a lost fight. Communication and teamwork aren’t just beneficial, but required if you want to win.

Don’t think too hard about Warden team composition

Team composition is not as important as it might seem in Highguard. Abilities and ultimates are important, but because the game doesn’t always follow the exact same pattern when it comes to offense and defense, it’s less about what works well together and what you can use best. Ultimately, the biggest difference maker in a fight is about who’s better at shooting, and it doesn’t make sense to force someone to pick a defensive-focused Warden when you could easily go the entire match without actually playing defense. Whichever Warden you play the best is the one you should be picking, every time.
