Earning GobbleGums can be a frustrating mechanic in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and fans are calling on Treyarch to increase the drop rate of high-tier consumables.
When it was announced that GobbleGums were returning in Black Ops 6, many longtime Zombies fans were ecstatic. The fan-favorite mechanic first appeared in Black Ops 3, and it’s been missing in action ever since.
Of course, Black Ops 3 had its fair share of issues where GobbleGums were concerned, with many labeling the mechanic as being Pay-to-Win.
And while Black Ops 6 was Treyarch’s chance to dispel that notion for good, it appears that earning GobbleGums in the current release is still far from perfect.
Black Ops 6 Players Demand Faster GobbleGum Earning
Over on the COD Zombies subreddit, fans are once again complaining about the GobbleGum earn rate in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
For those who don’t know, GobbleGums are earned at random through standard gameplay in Black Ops 6 Zombies. Every few rounds, players will receive a random GobbleGum drop, with the exact consumable received being chosen from Black Ops 6’s extensive list of GobbleGums.
Of course, the higher tiers of GobbleGums will drop much less frequently than more common candies. So if you want to get your hands on some Ultra-tier GobbleGums, you’ll have to get lucky.
Reddit user PuzzleheadedFall1883 claims to have recently completed a Round 999 run in Black Ops 6 Zombies, and kept track of all the top-tier GobbleGums they received. According to the user, after more than 50 hours of gameplay and 1 million+ kills, they received the following:
1 x Perkaholic
1 x Hidden Power
2 x Reign Drops
2 x Timeout
2 x Wonderbar
That’s a total of 8 Ultra GobbleGums for reaching Round 999 – a staggering statistic that shows just how futile GobbleGum farming can be.
Of course, the user likely had hundreds of other Common and Rare-level drops, but this goes to show how low the odds are of getting the best rewards.
With that in mind, fans are calling on Treyarch to increase the drop rate for high-tier rewards, but it seems unlikely that the developer will listen.
Why GobbleGums Won’t Change
The reason we believe that GobbleGum drop rates are going to stay exactly as they are lies in the Call of Duty Store.
In Black Ops 6, players can now purchase high-tier GobbleGums directly from the in-game Store.
For $20, players can purchase a Pay-to-Win GobbleGum bundle, containing three of every Ultra and Legendary-tier consumable in the game.
Judging by PuzzleheadedFall1883’s run, it could take 150 hours or more to earn such high-tier rewards, meaning many gamers will likely pay rather than spend the time grinding.
“Back at launch I remember playing for a few days and would get loads of ultras. I guess maybe they’re making good $ from the store so they decided to crank it down a few notches lol,” the Reddit user writes.
Of course, most players don’t outright need GobbleGums to enjoy Black Ops 6. But it’s worth pointing out that those fans who want to complete the hardest trials Zombies mode has to offer, such as the recent Cowabunga Cranked Easter Eggs, often find themselves relying on the likes of Perkaholic and Wonderbar!
Treyarch does offer fans fairly regular Double XP weekends, some of which also contain bonus GobbleGum drops. On top of that, GobbleGums now appear in the Black Ops 6 Battle Pass, allowing players to increase their earn rate of consumables slightly.
But, as much as we’ve praised the development team for listening to Zombies fans and making changes in the past, we think that the decision to boost the earn rate for good isn’t one for them to make.
In fact, we’d imagine that Activision is the one pulling the strings here, as a low drop rate likely leads to more users spending money in the COD Store to skip the grind.
A bit of a late heads up for this one, as a good friend of ours, has recently informed us, that Gasega68k has released an early work in progress version of ‘G-ZERO’ for the Sega Mega Drive. A game that is inspired by the SNES title of ‘F-Zero’. The first game in the series originally released for the Super NES, as the first game for the platform to use a technique by Nintendo called “Mode 7 Scrolling”. To coincide with this news, we’ve got some footage and a very brief description about this WIP tease below.
And here’s the latest. “This is a tech demo of G-Zero for the Sega Genesis, inspired by F-Zero on the Super Nintendo with a mode 7 style rotation background. There are 5 opponents and a rival. The race takes place in a loop, never ending, but the best time gets updated after each lap. This is a WIP, and the author is still working on it”
The game works on real hardware, so if you have a SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive and an Everdrive, you can copy the file to the SD card and play the demo.
Developer Twirlbound and Saber Interactive have confirmed a release date for the lighthearted action adventure The Knightling, with the date set as August 25th. The Knightling will be available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series XS, and Switch. The game’s story puts players in the shoes of The Knightling, a knight in training, whose mentor Sir Lionstone has disappeared.
In The Knightling, players will be tasked with exploring the land of Clessia to find Sir Lionstone, armed with a magical shield to face all dangers. Clessia is a land filled with monsters and bandits that will do what they can to stop you, as well as a load of puzzles that will uncover long lost secrets of the world. All of this will hopefully lead you to find Sir Lionstone, and restore some order to the world.
In our The Knightling preview, Dom said, “I love the look of The Knightling. It’s clear, it’s characterful and there’s just something adorable about the Knightling’s big eyes and the chunky world. The audio definitely helps with the atmosphere too, from the mumbled words everyone utters to the ebbs and peaks of the orchestral soundtrack. It creates a fantastical world with an economy of design that’s refreshing, but it’s nonetheless utterly beguiling, despite the simplicity. I am massively excited to play more of The Knightling – it’s light-hearted, action packed, and full of character, and a change in pace to the glossy Unreal Engine 5 open worlds elsewhere. This gorgeous landscape is also yours to explore, with a demo available on Steam right now.”

Our next Black Ops 6 Zombies map arrives in Season 3, but how long will we have to wait to drop into Shattered Veil?
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been a welcome return to form for Treyarch’s iconic Zombies mode. To date, we already have four incredible round-based experiences in the game, which is as many as Cold War and Vanguard received outright.
But the developer shows no signs of stopping here, and there’s a fifth round-based map just around the corner for Black Ops 6 fans!
Here’s when you’ll be able to drop into Shattered Veil and explore the mysterious mansion that acted as the headquarters of Project Janus:
Black Ops 6 Zombies Shattered Veil Release Date
Shattered Veil is confirmed to release in Black Ops 6 Season 3, which arrives on April 3, 2025.
Assuming the update goes live at the usual time, Season 3 should go live on April 3 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST.
This means the new Zombies map should be playable in .
Shattered Veil was likely initially scheduled to launch on March 20 on the original Season 3 release date.
However, Activision delayed Season 3’s release by exactly two weeks, claiming it needed time to ensure it could deliver “a great experience.”
The map is expected to arrive alongside the season’s launch, due to the fact that Treyarch has already begun releasing in-game screenshots of the upcoming experience.
This usually only happens in the weeks prior to a map’s release, so it seems likely that Shattered Veil will arrive on day one of the new season.
Is There a Chance It Releases in Season 3 Reloaded?
Of course, given that Verdansk coming back to Warzone is certainly the headline of the season, we wouldn’t be shocked to see Treyarch announce that Shattered Veil will release mid-season instead.
If so, we’ll likely be waiting almost another month to see what secrets Eddie Richtofen was hiding in Liberty Falls.
However, the Zombies and Battle Royale communities are often quite different from one another, which is why we don’t expect Treyarch to delay the map’s launch just for Warzone’s sake.
After all, we can already see many COD fans hoping that Verdansk will fail, as a new leak indicated that Warzone support will cease entirely if the old map fails to bring back players.
And with Black Ops 6 hitting a record-low player count this month, it’s likely that Activision will want to deliver the best Season 3 update it possibly can.
For those looking to learn everything they can about Black Ops 6 Zombies’ next map, here’s a look at all the Shattered Veil teaser images released so far!
The leadup to a new Call of Duty: Zombies map release is always an exciting time, as fans begin to speculate wildly about what to expect.
However, things are a bit different this time around. Not only do we already know that we’re heading to Eddie Richtofen’s mansion in Liberty Falls, but the marketing has kicked off a little early.
This is likely due to the fact that the next Black Ops 6 Zombies map has been delayed alongside the Season 3 update – and will now launch on April 3. So while we wait, let’s take a look at everything Treyarch has shown us so far:
All Shattered Veil Teaser Images
Treyarch has finally confirmed that the new Season 3 Black Ops 6 Zombies map is called Shattered Veil, and it’s set in the mansion in Liberty Falls.
We got our first look at the West Virginian town’s mansion back in the Liberty Falls intro cinematic, where it was revealed to be home to Edward Richtofen and the headquarters of Project Janus.
Now, we’ve had some further details revealed regarding the Shattered Veil mansion and its surroundings, through a series of screenshots dated ten days after the zombie outbreak:
1 – Motor Court
“Personal log. Edward Richtofen recording…”
The first official screenshot released for the Shattered Veil map reveals a look at the exterior of the mansion.
From this shot, we can likely discern that the mansion’s exterior will also be explorable, allowing players to battle undead in the nearby grounds.
This screenshot is dated ten days after the outbreak that seems to have devastated Project Janus and its staff, leaving only flaming wreckage and destruction in its wake.
2 – Banquet Hall
“However ludicrous this idea may have seemed to my younger self, at this point, I feel further research is warranted…”
In this shot of the Banquet Hall, we can see further evidence of the destruction caused by the undead. But what’s even more notable is the suspicious portrait mounted on the mansion’s wall.
The frame appears to be surrounded by some manner of machinery, possibly hinting that there’s more to this painting than meets the eye. Could it be a secret passageway or a usable trap?
But as for who the portrait depicts, some eagle-eyed fans believe that it could be a member of The Order.
The Order were the primary antagonists of Black Ops 4 Zombies – a violent cult led by the High Priest of Chaos, dedicated to utilizing Prima Materia and the Sentinel Artifacts to force humanity to “evolve”.
Seeing as we know Richtofen was hunting for the Sentinel Artifact, it makes perfect sense for Black Ops 6 to be bringing back the villainous organization!
3 – Grand Foyer
“I will lead this endeavor personally, enlisting only trusted associates to ensure the program does not… spiral out of control.”
In this shot of the Grand Foyer, we can see the complete T-Rex fossil that was originally revealed when Richtofen battled down the stairs in the Liberty Falls cinematic.
Interestingly, the dinosaur’s position has shifted slightly since appearing in the cinematic, which has some fans suspicious that we could be facing a T-Rex boss fight in Shattered Veil.
Personally, though, we think that the statue was simply tweaked during development and that shots from an intro trailer won’t always line up with the finished product.
4 – Mainframe Chamber
“… after all, you never know who — or what — may be listening.”
Next up, Treyarch showcased a shot of S.A.M. in the Mainframe Chamber, which is sure to be a central part of the upcoming map.
The Mainframe Chamber is accessed by taking an elevator down to the basement, which seemed to require Richtofen’s clearance.
Here, an orb containing a Synaptic Algorithm Module (AKA S.A.M.) awaits. S.A.M. has been guiding the Zombies Crew towards recovering the Sentinel Artifact, with the promise that we can use it to rescue Samantha Maxis from the Dark Aether.
But given how sinister the AI appears to be during its interaction with Richtofen, we think it’s more likely that S.A.M will be the final boss of Shattered Veil!
5 – Richtofen’s Family
“I think there may be something more significant about this house. Something beyond even my understanding. Perhaps, beyond even my fears.”
In the Liberty Falls intro cinematic, we see Edward Richtofen wake up from a nightmare about his wife and child burning.
Longtime Zombies fans may know that Grigori Weaver was responsible for the death of Richtofen’s family, who perished in a housefire caused by Weaver covering his tracks following an assassination mission.
It appears that not only does Richtofen still dream about his family’s demise, but that something about this house is drawing the memories to him. Perhaps even calling on him to find the Sentinel Artifact in order to have a chance of bringing them back?
That’s all of the teaser images that Treyarch has revealed so far.
We’ll keep this article updated with all the new screenshots as they continue to be released in the lead-up to Shattered Veil’s release on April 3, 2025!
It appears that we’re heading back to the Liberty Falls mansion in Black Ops 6 Zombies’ next DLC map, Shattered Veil – here’s everything we know so far!
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies is off to an amazing start, with its two incredible launch maps already being followed up with another two seasonal maps: Citadelle des Morts, and The Tomb.
Although some fans have criticized The Tomb for its smaller size and notoriously challenging boss encounter, we’re sure many are happy to have so much content on offer, this early in the game’s lifespan.
And now, another map is already on the way.
Everything We Know About Shattered Veil
Treyarch has now officially confirmed that Shattered Veil is our next Black Ops 6 Zombies map, arriving in Season 3.
The mysteriously-named map is set in and around the mansion in Liberty Falls, which first appeared in the launch map’s cinematic trailer.
Given that the mansion was home to both Edward Richtofen and Project Janus, there are sure to be plenty of mysteries to uncover.
This location was first teased as our next destination in the final cutscene of The Tomb’s Easter Egg quest, and has since been confirmed by the developer itself.
The Setting
In Black Ops 6 Zombies, the post-Easter Egg cutscenes for both Terminus and Citadelle des Morts accurately indicated where we’d be battling against the undead next.
Therefore, given that the Liberty Falls mansion was hinted at in The Tomb’s final cinematic, it seemed certain that a return to the West Virginian town would be in our future.
The mansion in question is home to S.A.M., the Synaptic Algorithm Module that is based on Samantha Maxis. It is also where Edward Richtofen was living, prior to his disappearance in the Liberty Falls intro cinematic.
The Liberty Falls mansion is actually visible from the launch map, as are the ‘Liberty Falls towers’ that are rumored to be the setting of an upcoming DLC.
According to the date provided alongside our first screenshots of Shattered Veil, we’ll be heading to the mansion around 10 days after Richtofen’s abduction.
Story
Now with the Sentinel Artifact in their grasp, the former members of Requiem and their new allies need to find a way to use it to rescue Samantha Maxis from the Dark Aether.
S.A.M., who has helped guide the team thus far, claims that they have researched a way to control the artifact, but that it requires specific exotic materials that can be harvested in Liberty Falls.
However, it is still unclear whether or not S.A.M. and the seemingly malicious entity that resides inside the Forsaken are one and the same.
It’s worth noting that the man in the portrait above appears to be a member of The Order, a fanatical cult that appeared in Black Ops 4 Zombies.
The Order, led by the High Priest of Chaos, aimed to use the Sentinel Artifacts to manipulate Prima Materia to force humanity to evolve.
The High Priest of Chaos in Black Ops 4 Zombies
Since we know Richtofen was also looking for the artifact, it’s like that he’s either stumbled across The Order’s research – or he has ties to the villainous organization!
Presumably, with the mansion being the former Requiem Director’s home, we’ll out what happened to Richtofen when he disappeared in the climax of the Liberty Falls cinematic.
Could his former team actually end up rescuing the man who imprisoned them? And if so, does that mean that Shattered Veil’s boss fight could be a Sentinel Artifact-empowered S.A.M.?
Wonder Weapon
Even before the next Black Ops 6 Zombies map had officially been revealed, fans were already upset about its prospective Wonder Weapon.
Judging by the fact that it has already been shown in the hands of its investor, Edward Richtofen, and given that the map likely has many ties to the former Requiem Director, it seems likely that the Wunderwaffe DG-2 will be returning.
This powerful gun originated in Shi No Numa back in Call of Duty: World at War, making it the oldest Wonder Weapon in COD history – other than the Ray Gun.
And, speaking of the iconic alien pistol, dataminers have found hints that the Ray Gun Mark II may be returning in Shattered Veil alongside the Wunderwaffe!
Perk
According to a leak by realityuk_, a known insider when it comes to COD titles, Black Ops 6 Season 3 will most likely add the Double Tap Perk to the game.
Double Tap Root Beer is a classic Zombies Perk that featured all the way back in World at War and has returned many times since then.
The Perk-a-Cola increases the drinker’s rate of fire, as well as allowing for faster equipment deploys and weapon re-chambers. An updated take on the Perk, known as Double Tap II, also effectively doubled weapon damage, by firing two bullets per shot.
Of course, with Black Ops 6’s Augments, the Perk could see some extra benefits too!
Field Upgrade
According to the same leak, Frost Blast will be returning from Cold War Zombies to be Season 3’s newest Field Upgrade.
When activated, Frost Blast creates an icy storm around the user which slows and freezes any enemies that get too close.
We imagine it’ll be easy to pair with The Tomb’s Staff of Ice Wonder Weapon, which (when properly upgraded) effectively does the same thing with its charged attack.
Ammo Mod
The final thing that realityuk_’s leak had to offer was the news that Shatter Blast will be the next Ammo Mod, making its return from Cold War Zombies and MWZ.
When purchased using Salvage at The Arsenal, Shatter Blast causes all bullets to deal explosive damage, with a chance to destroy armor and cause additional damage with an explosion.
It’s a great way to deal with hordes of undead, and an even better way to prevent armored zombies such as Manglers from giving you trouble.
Map Size
Recently, a leak that teased how many more maps Black Ops 6 Zombies will receive also revealed new details about the Shattered Veil.
According to reliable Call of Duty leaker TheGhostOfHope, the upcoming mansion setting will be a small map, which is sure to disappoint those who were complaining about The Tomb’s size.
However, the leaker has since clarified that this is only an assumption, given what we’ve seen of the setting so far.
In the Liberty Falls intro cinematic, we get several internal shots of the mansion’s first and second floors – but what’s interesting is that there’s also an elevator down to the basement that contains the Forsaken.
Perhaps Shattered Veil will have more hidden away in its depths than players expect.
Release Date
Shattered Veil is now officially confirmed to release in Black Ops 6 Season 3, which arrives on April 3, 2025.
However, Treyarch hasn’t actually revealed whether the map will arrive alongside the season’s launch date – or whether we can expect it in a mid-season update.
Given that the developer has begun releasing in-game screenshots of the map, we’d expect it to arrive on day one. However, we won’t get our hopes up too high just yet!
For now, we’ll have to wait for official word from Treyarch to find out more.
It’s official, we’re getting a brand-new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies map in Season 3 and its name has been revealed as Shattered Veil!
After weeks of waiting and months of rumors, we finally have confirmation that Black Ops 6 is indeed receiving a new Zombies experience next month.
For the last week, Treyarch has been busy teasing fans with a handful of in-game screenshots from an upcoming map, once again set in Liberty Falls.
Now, the developer has revealed the map’s official name and confirmed a Season 3 release date.
Shattered Veil Map Reveal – Black Ops 6 Zombies Season 3
Treyarch has officially revealed that the next Black Ops 6 Zombies map, Shattered Veil, will release in Season 3.
The developer confirmed this via its official social media accounts, where it revealed the map’s name and logo, as well as assuring fans that it’ll arrive next season.
In Shattered Veil, we’ll be heading back to Liberty Falls once again. More specifically, the map will take place in and around the mansion where Edward Richtofen was residing while overseeing Project Janus.
Treyarch has revealed several teaser images of Shattered Veil already, showing off the mansion interior and the surrounding grounds.
What’s more, there are even a few hints that The Order could be returning from Black Ops 4 – and we could be bringing the Sentinel Artifact directly to them!
Shattered Veil Release Date
Shattered Veil is confirmed to release in Black Ops 6 Season 3, which arrives on April 3, 2025, two weeks after its initially scheduled release date.
The update was pushed back by Activision, who claim the delay was necessary in order to “deliver a great experience.”
Whether the Zombies map was in need of a delay, or Activision was just trying to ensure that Warzone’s returning Verdansk map was as ready as possible, is unclear (though we’d guess it’s the latter).
It’s worth mentioning that while Treyarch confirms that Shattered Veil will release in Season 3, it has not confirmed whether that means it’ll arrive on the season’s launch day, or in the mid-season update.
The developer is steadily dropping hints about what’s to come, but for those who don’t fancy waiting, we’ve got you covered.
Here’s everything leaked to arrive in Black Ops 6 Zombies’ new map, including Perks, Wonder Weapons, Field Upgrades and more!

Hazelight Boss Jose Fares Confirms Studio Already Working On Next Game
Hazelight founder Jose Fares was a guest on the Friends Per Second podcast (via Culture Crave) where he said, “Split Fiction is the best-received game we have done, everybody is super happy, but I’m so fully focused and excited on the next thing.”
As one might expect, Fares didn’t offer anything specific regarding Hazelight’s next project. While Split Fiction is a massive success, the studio isn’t feeling the pressure for its next game. On the contrary, it thinks it can do even better.
Fares shared, “It’s not like we’re feeling now, ‘Oh, shit, how will we top [Split Fiction] or do better than this?’ We just feel like… just wait until [you see] what we do next. I know it’s cocky. But that’s how confident we feel in what we’re doing.”
In the same chat, Fares revealed that Hazelight does not pitch the studio’s game to publisher Electronic Arts (EA). In case you didn’t know, EA has been the publisher of all of Hazelight’s games. Instead, they tell EA what they’re doing. Fares explains, “That’s it. They have zero to say about what we are doing next.”
Additionally, Fares acknowledges that EA might be “fu**ng up its partnerships with other companies, but not Hazelight. “They respect us. They respect what we do. I am very clear with them that they cannot interfere with what we do,” Fares noted.

Split Fiction: 10 Easter Eggs Hidden In The Game
Split Fiction is full of easter eggs, and here are some of the best ones.
Whatever Hazelight’s next project is, don’t expect it out anytime soon. The studio usually takes 3-4 years to develop a game. A Way Out started development in 2014 and was released in 2018. It Takes Two was released in 2021, and Split Fiction was released this year. By that estimate, don’t expect Hazelight’s latest game to be available no sooner than 2028 or 2029, which means there’s a very big possibility that the studio’s next game might be a title for the PS6 and the next Xbox console.
If you haven’t played Split Fiction, you might want to change that, as the game really is that good. Our review even mentions how “Split Fiction has proven that Hazelight is simply the best modern studio in the co-op business.” Just remember that Split Fiction, much like Hazelight’s past games, is purely a co-op experience, You cannot play it solo or with a bot.
