Fortnite OG mode is taking another step toward the present very soon–Season 3 starts on March 25, taking us back to the season that kicked off way back in February of 2018. While Fortnite OG has waned in popularity a bit recently, one of the big reasons for that is that Fortnite changed very little during those original two seasons, so this nostalgic mode didn’t get to do much differently either. Season 3, however, is where things began ramping up. The game’s overall storyline made its very first appearance when a large meteor appeared over the island midway through the season.
With just days remaining before the next round of Fortnite’s throwback party begins, let’s take a look at everything we know about Fortnite OG Season 3.
Fortnite OG Season 3 teaser
Epic has dropped a single teaser for OG Season 3, which shows an astronaut helmet with the Fortnite island visible in the reflection–along with the meteor above it. The TikTok and Instagram versions of the teaser are the most illuminating versions, as they reveal that the astronaut is wearing a studded leather jacket. There aren’t any skins that wore anything like that from Season 3, battle pass or otherwise, but our Metallica-themed remix of Rust from Chapter 5 Season 3 did. Regardless, I doubt that thing is spaceworthy, but Fortnite isn’t concerned with such things.
Fortnite OG Pass Season 3
The first two OG passes have included three new skins that are remixes of existing skins that first appeared during the original seasons. Each pass had two remixes of old pass skins and one remix of a shop skin, though it should be noted that they had to do it that way for those seasons because they didn’t have many skins–the Season 1 shop only had two, and the Season 2 battle pass only had three knights and Sparkle Specialist.

The Season 3 battle pass, by contrast, had six skins–Rust Lord, Elite Agent, The Reaper (Fortnite-brand John Wick), and three astronauts. They could make three distinct skins from that group, but on the shop side of things, Season 3 did introduce Raven–and Epic loves doing new versions of Raven almost as much as it likes doing new versions of Midas.

Not much changed between Season 2 and 3, as you can see–the Season 3 map is almost identical to the Season 2 island that’s on the way out. But that teaser including the meteor could be hinting that we’ll start in the middle. As the end of the season approached, and the meteor came along with it, small pieces of the meteor kept falling off and damaging the island every match, and that’s exactly the sort of shakeup feature that the OG mode could use. Since Epic has typically not done many in-season map changes in the OG mode, would anybody be upset if they jumped straight to that part?

Thanks to another heads up by the developer(Amaweks) and our good friend Saberman(YT), we’ve been told if you remember playing the famous platformer of the Great Giana Sisters which was released from 1987 onwards. Then it will be well worth your time checking out Amawek’s latest MSX game of ‘Marlow’. An incredible platformer that is inspired by “The Great Giana Sisters” and was previously released for the ZX Spectrum 128k.

As you might be aware (we’ve banged on about it a bit already this week) Helldivers 2 got a cowboy-themed Warbond dubbed Borderline Justice yesterday. It has no cowboy hat, because Arrowhead doesn’t reckon that such headgear fits within the Helldiver uniform restrictions.
A lot of players don’t agree with that assessement – some of them have even stormed out of the official gear saloon to pick up a mod that’ll let them team the new armours with a ten-gallon hat. Now, currently on sabbatical Helldivers 2 director and chief creative officer Johan Pilestedt has offered his own view on the situation via a twitter thread sent while he’s at GDC saying things during panels.

Having asked players for their thoughts on the Borderline Justice gear, the dev was naturally quickly asked by multiple people where the Warbond’s cowboy hat is, or whether the game will be getting one at some point down the line.
“I don’t know – haven’t heard the design convo. But I think it crossed the line of what the Helldivers are. Which I agree with,” he wrote in one reply, “I will ask the team next time I pop by the office.” Another player got a slightly different response from Pilestedt: “I agree that it would be awesome, but I think it would break the fantasy of Helldivers…people don’t wear hats on helmets.”

A number of players have been a bit exasperated by that last bit, and have been trying to remind the dev that the beret from the PH-9 Predators armour in last year’s Viper Commandos Warbond is also a hat on top of a helmet, and got past those strict uniform regs. I suppose it depends on your definition of suitably military-ish hats. Do cowboys go to war, and is a cavalry hat a different thing?
Regardless, one thing Pilestedt did suggest might be coming in the fiuture duuring that thread sounds pretty cool. “[A] perk that allows people to take sidearms as primary AND wield them akimbo…”, he wrote, “Unfortunately a bit too much work to make the animations, but maybe sometime in the future?”

Given the dire situation, Ubisoft has found itself in, including plummeting stock prices, it’s hard not to imagine that there’s a lot riding on the success or failure of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, the newest entry in the long-running franchise.
Well, it seems like its good news for Ubisoft, at least thus far. Despite the game being somewhat controversial, it has apparently drawn in over a million players in its first 24 hours on sale. Note that’s “players” rather than copies sold because Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is, of course, included on Ubisoft’s premium subscription service which rather muddies the stats a tad.
We don’t have much data about total players for past entries in the first 24 hours. We do know that Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla was revealed to have hit 1.8 million players in its first week. It was also announced to have sold more copies than any other entry in the franchise in that first week.
On Steam, Shadows appears to be doing decently, though hardly amazing. As I’m writing this the game has hit its highest concurrent player count (41,582) yet and looks like it will continue to rise. This does not account for all PC players since Shadows is also available via Ubisoft’s own PC storefront, as well as on the Epic Games Store.
Unfortunately, it’s hard to compare those Steam numbers to prior Assassin’s Creed games. The last Assassin’s Creed game to release day 1 on Steam was Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, managing just 7,870 concurrent players. However, Mirage was also a smaller project rather than a true mainline release.
Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla did not launch on Steam on day 1 as Ubisoft was skipping Steam at that point. It would come to Steam several years later, thus only getting 15,679 concurrent players. Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, however, did launch on Steam alongside console and drew 62,069 concurrent players.
Player and critical reception seem to be good as well. Opencritic currently has it listed with an aggregated review score of 81 so far. On Steam, it’s holding a “Very Positive” rating with over 4,200 reviews.
Whether this level of success will be enough to help Ubisoft dig itself back out of its current problems remains to be seen, but at least people seem to be having fun with Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. I’m very tempted to pick it up, I have to admit.
Games from Remedy Entertainment—like Alan Wake 2, Control, and Max Payne—tend to be single player, third-person, linear adventures with cutscenes, lots of dialogue, and endings. FBC: Firebreak isn’t like those past games at all. And while it might disappoint some Remedy fans, I’m excited to see the studio doing something so different.
Is Alan Wake Worth Playing Before Its Sequel? | Total Recall
Earlier this month I took part in a digital preview event for first-person co-op sci-fi horror shooter FBC: Firebreak, which is set to launch later this year on Xbox, PS5, and PC. The devs at Remedy talked about their design philosophy behind the Left 4 Dead 2-like shooter, answered some questions, and showed off one of the game’s missions.
What kind of game is Firebreak?
FBC: Firebreak is set in the same universe as Control, which itself is part of the larger “Remedy Connected Universe” that also includes Alan Wake. Specifically, FBC is set roughly six years after the events of Control. The destructive interdimensional Hiss still infest most of the Oldest House, the impossibly large and cosmic-horror filled HQ of Control’s Federal Bureau of Control. The lockdown is still in place, and after all these years, supplies are running out and people are getting desperate to take back the HQ and kick the Hiss out for good. So the Bureau’s director—Control protagonist Jesse Faden— has ordered the creation of the Firebreak Initiative. This is a volunteer-based emergency response team tasked with stopping the Hiss.
One of first things that surprised me was Remedy confirming that FBC: Firebreak has no cutscenes. This is part of Remedy’s desire to make FBC pick-up-and-play friendly, one of the game’s core design pillars. The idea is that no matter how many hours you’ve played, you should be able to quickly hop into a game with a buddy and have a good time.
The other two pillars: Make sure FBC is fun on repeat, and content needs to feel like it could only be found in the wild, strange world of Control.
During the event, Remedy showed a pre-recorded mission involving three players. Remedy calls these missions “Jobs,” featuring a single main objective with action spread out across a number of sections. Players can control how long and difficult these jobs are before hopping in, which will determine the kinds of rewards and how much XP is awarded at the end
The job we saw was called Paper Chase and involved three players working together to fight through the Hiss, including battling many enemies seen in Control, while destroying thousands of sticky notes scattered around the Oldest House. The post-it notes can even stick to you and obscure your vision. The combat reminded me of what you might find in Left 4 Dead 2 or Back 4 Blood, or even a mission in Destiny 2. Lots of shooting, managing space, and working together to defeat hordes of baddies or complete smaller sub-objectives.

Each player takes into battle a special kit that includes different tools that can change things up in a big way. These include turrets, which are just guns taped to office chairs, or a boom box that attracts enemies to it. Like L4D2, players reach big emergency checkpoints throughout the mission and can take a breather and restock. How many of these doors appear in a mission will depend on how hard you made the job.
Eventually, at the end of the mission, the group took on a giant monster made out of yellow sticky notes. With regards to the key pillars, this certainly seems like something that could only happen in the universe of Control.
FBC Won’t Feel Like A Second Job
If you are wondering why Remedy decided to limit FBC to only three players instead of the more traditional four, the devs explained that they tried out four players early on but it felt like “a little too much to pay attention to” during jobs, and three players “felt better.” You can play solo if you want, or just with one other buddy, but there are no bots. So you’ll need some friends and you’ll need to plan time to play together.
Getting friends together is tricky for a lot of adults and Remedy seem aware of this. Their goal is to make the game extremely easy to hop into, hence no cutscenes or lengthy tutorials, and to not include any FOMO elements or make FBC feel like a “second job.” You can stop playing FBC for months and then come back and you won’t be behind or need to grind to catch up to friends.
Relatedly, when I asked if FBC had an ending that players could eventually reach, I was told no. The game is meant to be played over and over again, with players unlocking new perks and gear to alter how they play while trying out harder jobs. Interestingly, there also won’t be any major “bespoke” story updates. So it seems the world of FBC will be pretty static compared to some other online games.
As a big fan of Control, I asked how FBC: Firebreak will impact the already announced and currently in development Control 2. For the most part, it won’t. In a later answer given to me via an email after the event, Remedy provided more detail on their thinking.
“This was a very conscious decision made early on to protect Control players who shouldn’t be made to go outside their genre comfort zone to follow those stories and to protect non-Control players, who shouldn’t feel like they need to go out of their genre comfort zone to understand Firebreak,” said game director Mike Kayatta. Remedy did confirm that FBC is “canon” to Control and hinted that some characters from the game might show up in Firebreak.
Is FBC: Firebreak a live-service game?
Remedy revealed during the event that FBC will include paid cosmetics and post-launch updates, another fairly big departure from Remedy’s past games. However, they admitted that they were hesitant to use words like “live-service” or “seasons” as these mean very different things to different people.
They instead explained that they want to respect players’ time. No content in FBC will be “time-restricted” or be based around FOMO. Remedy insists they are working hard to make a game “for people with kids,” aka gamers with limited time. They also confirmed that all playable content updates will be free and promised more specific details closer to launch.
When I asked if FBC: Firebreak will have a battle pass or not, the answer was fairly vague. I asked for some clarification and received this response:
We’re not going to have any time-restricted content delivery mechanisms. We’ll be revealing more about our post launch a bit later, but ultimately we can confirm that none of this content will be released on limited time rotation. We want to ensure that whether you play daily or play every other week, you’ll have the opportunity to acquire all the same items.

When I asked how FBC: Firebreak will compete with other online shooters and co-op games, Remedy pushed back and said they weren’t competing with those kinds of games. Instead they want FBC to “slot in” to your life between other games that might demand more of your time. FBC can be a thing you come back to whenever you want and have some free time. Once again, the devs brought up the goal of not making FBC feel like a second job.
Finally, I asked about Switch 2. Remedy made a point during the presentation to talk about how they are striving to make FBC Steam Deck verified and want it to run well on lower spec PCs. So I wondered if that meant a Switch 2 port was in the works.
“We are very busy in developing the game for the launch,” said Kayatta. “So we haven’t given the Switch 2 any thought at this point, but things can always change in the future.” Well, I tried.
For now, FBC: Firebreak will launch later this year on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It will launch day one on both Game Pass and PS Plus, another way Remedy is trying to give FBC the best shot at finding an audience and avoiding the fate of Sony’s failed FPS Concord.

As you explore the provinces of Japan, you will come across various points of interest. To be exact, always prioritize completing locations marked with orange markers, as they guarantee a Knowledge Point. Upon collecting a certain number of Knowledge Points, your Knowledge Rank will be upgraded. As it increases, you will unlock skills of the corresponding level across all skill trees for both protagonists.
NOTE: The higher-level skills require more Mastery Points to acquire. So, you will have to save up Mastery Points to get a strong skill in the upper-level Knowledge Ranks.

For my own sanity, I gave up reviewing AI slop games. They’re cheaply made lazy crap that clog up the eshop. 17studio, creator of Draw Rider, switched over to making slop because its vastly more profitable than actually trying. For two reasons, I am here reviewing their Dokugirls, the first being that it uses realistic AI photos instead of anime ones, which is unusual. The second reason is that this a Sudoku game and not a bad one. The problem comes when its $9.99 and done better elsewhere. The Sudoku itself is well formulated and allows notes, and a region highlight, which is pretty useful. Get the number right, and a part of the picture is revealed. Make three mistakes and its game over. This actually works to Dokugirls’ benefit as it makes it harder.
The problem with Dokugirls is that its expensive, $9.99(and not on sale either) and done better elsewhere. There are twenty-seven games with the word Sudoku in the title, and probably more without. There is a rather old game called Sudoku Universe, which provides three variations of Sudoku for $6.99. Why get Dokugirls, which is AI Slop? I mean if you want generic AI generated images, go ahead, but I’m not sure its worth it.
I ran this through an AI detector, and its AI using Flux.
I have to give credit, AI images are getting harder and harder to spot, but they’re still AI and still lazy. I want real women in these games! Dokugirls gets a Your Mileage May Vary verdict with a 6 back-end score.
Overall: Dokugirls is Sudoku with AI generated images. Its overpriced and the Sudoku is done better elsewhere. Get it if you want.
Fans are currently invested in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies storyline, but will the events of the current game continue in COD 2025?
It’s about that time of year when Call of Duty fans start to hope for a glimpse of what’s next in store for them.
For the first time in years, it seems like Black Ops 6 is doing a great job of keeping its players invested, with many fans looking forward to upcoming content such as the new Shattered Veil Zombies map.
But the wheel of time stops for no game, and a new Call of Duty title is inevitable. Early leaks report that Treyarch will be in the driver’s seat once again for COD 2025, so is it possible that this year’s release could continue the Zombies storyline?
Call of Duty 2025 Zombies
It’s worth noting that Activision is yet to reveal any details about Call of Duty 2025, including confirming the longstanding rumor that it’s being developed by Treyarch.
Leaks also suggest that COD 2025 is set to be a sequel to Black Ops 2, a game that was actually set in 2025.
With that in mind, we can expect a 30+ year gap from the events of Black Ops 6 Zombies, making it difficult to set up a direct sequel.
However, other leaks have had a lot of say about the plans for Zombies in this year’s title:
The Original Crew Returns
Back in October 2024, Insider Gaming claimed that the original Zombies Crew could be returning in COD 2025. The site claimed that this news came from several sources who were invited to early playtests of the upcoming title.
Longtime Zombies fans will remember that we last saw Tank Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, Takeo Masaki, and Edward Richtofen all together in Black Ops 3’s Revelations map. There, the beloved characters entered an endless cycle beginning in Origins and ending in the aforementioned Revelations.
Since 2016, only Richtofen has made a comeback, resurfacing at the end of Cold War Zombies and setting up the events of the Black Ops 6 Zombies storyline.
Could the other original Zombies Crew members somehow return and still be a part of the Black Ops 6 story? Well, it’s not as simple as that.
The reason why ‘Eddie’ Richtofen was able to return was because he was reborn in a child’s body at the end of Origins. Then, at the conclusion of Black Ops 4 Zombies, Eddie and Samantha Maxis are the only two beings to head into the new universe, while the rest of the multiverse is destroyed.
It’s confusing but, in theory, the only way we’d be able to play as the original Crew would be somewhere in their repeating cycle – unless Treyarch wants to write the characters into the storyline another way.
Map Settings
Another interesting leak from Insider Gaming, this time from March 2025, reported that there will be six round-based maps coming to Call of Duty 2025.
Among these are a number of adventurous settings, such as a map set in post-WW2 New York following a Nazi nuclear bomb attack, a Japanese temple set at the base of an active volcano, or a space station inside the Dark Aether.
If this leak proves correct, perhaps Treyarch is looking to move away from the more ‘grounded’ story seen in Black Ops 6 Zombies, which (as of Season 3) features two maps set in a West Virginian town.
The leak also reports that Grief and Outbreak modes are set to return in this year’s release, but we remember hearing something similar about last year’s title.
It’s worth mentioning that the Black Ops 6 storyline technically already continued with the events of Modern Warfare 3 Zombies (AKA MWZ). There, we saw the biological daughter of Samantha Maxis looking into the events of Liberty Falls.
Therefore, we think it’s likely that Treyarch will one day continue the current storyline, even if it moves away from it in this year’s release. After all, we finally just got more Chaos storyline content after 7 years of waiting!
