Steel Swarm: APOCALYPSE is a tank-battling destructive MOBA that will have Steam Deck support

Steel Swarm: APOCALYPSE is a tank-battling destructive MOBA that will have Steam Deck support

Steel Swarm: APOCALYPSE is an upcoming MOBA from Clay Token Game Studio, Inc. that might actually manage to pull in some players where others have failed, thanks to the vehicle combat and grand scale compared with other games.

Here it’s 5 versus 5 but with two major differences. You control a special tank in twin-stick styled controls instead of a humanoid character, and you’ll be battling through multiple lanes that have over 100 “minions” to blast through. They said it “combines traditional lane-based mechanics with a tactical warzone feel”. Oh, and the map is destructible too. Buildings and walls can be destroyed to forge a new path between lanes, I think this sounds awesome.

They’ve announced their full support for the Steam Deck noting that they’re “currently in the process of intense testing and optimization to ensure the game runs smoothly on handheld devices, both technically and in terms of gameplay”. They’re working on getting in Steam Deck Verified, with their demo build “currently running at around 60 FPS in internal tests” which is very promising.

On Reddit, they’re also asking if people want a Native Linux version of it, otherwise it will run with Proton.

The trailer sold me pretty quickly. I just hope their monetisation of it is fair as it seems it will be free to play.

Diablo 4’s next season, Belial’s Return, will be fully revealed next week

Diablo 4’s next season, Belial’s Return, will be fully revealed next week

Following a small extension to Diablo 4’s currently-ongoing Season 7, Blizzard will officially kick off the game’s eighth season. We’ve known much about what to expect from this coming season – thanks to the PTR – but the developer never properly revealed it.

This changes next week, when Blizzard will host a nice, long livestream to officially unveil Belial’s Return.

Manage cookie settings

The name of Season 8 being Belial’s Return was actually revealed in the recently-published Diablo 4 2025 roadmap. The same infographic also named the two seasons that will follow from that, all the way until the end of the year and into 2026.

The roadmap even teased two cross-over events with outside brands, and the first of those – a Berserk collaboration – was just teased. We’re likely going to hear something about that in next week’s livestream, seeing as it falls smack dab in the middle of Season 8. Speaking of the livestream, this is going to be the full-fat Developer Update, not the more casual Campfire Chat. The show is scheduled for Thursday, April 24 at 11am PT, 2pm ET, 7pm UK.

This is going to be the final preview ahead of Season 8’s launch on April 29. The Developer Update is going to cover the new questline, seasonal powers, and likely touch on any changes made since the Season 8 PTR.

Boss powers! | Image credit: Blizzard Entertainment.

Season 8: Belial’s Return will generally make Diablo 4 a little more challenging by revamping the endgame boss ladders. It’s also going to introduce the ability to earn and use boss powers, and there’s going to be a new public event, as we’ve come to expect from each new season.

Interestingly, Blizzard is trying something different with this livestream. Following its conclusion, community host Lurkin will join Blizzard’s Charles Dunn for a new show called Sanctuary Sitdown. The show will continue the discussion, though it appears to mainly be an avenue to answer some Discord community questions.

You’ll be able to follow along live on Diablo’s official YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, and TikTok channels. As always, you can come back to VG247 following the stream for a recap.

Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remake/Remaster Will Include All DLC

0
Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remake/Remaster Will Include All DLC

At this point, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion remake/remaster (it’s a bit unclear which camp it falls into) is the industry’s worst kept secret. Just days ago, screenshots of the game were discovered on developer Virtous’ own website, all but confirming the game’s existence. And now, it seems like we safely assume this new version of the iconic RPG will contain all of the DLC.

The information comes via the Defining Duke Xbox podcast, which is currently behind a paywall on the Last Stand Media Patreon. The podcast will go live for everybody else in a few days.

Lord Cognito, one half of the hosts and owner of Lordsofgaming.net, stated that he had it “on good authority” that the upcoming remaster/remake will include all the DLC that was created for Oblivion. Cog says that he will stand by the information, and that even the infamous horse armour will be included alongside the likes of the Shivering Isles expansion.

Lord Cognito, along with co-host Mr. MattyPlays, doesn’t usually share leaked information, but when he does, it’s usually because he’s confident. His track record is strong.

According to reports, the remaster/remake – which was also recently discovered being references on Bethesda’s own website – is due to come out after the 21st of April but before the end of the month. It’s also rumoured to contain some gameplay tweaks, making it fall more into the remake camp rather than a straight remaster.

I seriously cannot wait.

Twisted Metal Season 2 Is Bringing Us The Tournament and Two Characters We’ve Been Waiting For

Twisted Metal Season 2 Is Bringing Us The Tournament and Two Characters We’ve Been Waiting For

Image: NBCUniversal

After letting us process the first season’s half-naked murder clowns and sinister dollfaced thugs for two years, Peacock’s Twisted Metal series is returning with a deeper connection to the source material. On July 31, Anthony Mackie and the rest of the Divided States of America will be back for the show’s second season, but this time with key elements that align the TV series more with the video game franchise lore.

In the first season, amnesiac delivery driver John Doe (Anthony Mackie) navigates a demented preacher’s cult, roadside cannibals, and a comedy routine by Sweet Tooth (the physicality of Joe Seanoa aka Samoa Joe and the voice of Will Arnett) that could’ve turned deadly, all to deliver a package from Raven (Neve Campbell) to New San Francisco. By the end of the season, it’s revealed that the package delivery is just one piece in a plan to produce the deadly car combat tournament that made the Twisted Metal video games famous. We also find out that his long-lost sister Dollface (Tiana Okoye), who we’ll find out is named Krista in the second season, is the leader of a group of female vigilantes known as the Dolls. And that’s just the beginning of the newness coming to the second season.

IGN’s latest digital cover story on the series reveals that the upcoming season will feature 12 episodes compared to the 10 from the first season, and will have the highly anticipated tournament take place throughout the latter half of the season. Mr. Grimm, one of only three characters to appear in every Twisted Metal game, will debut as the soul-stealing biker in the second season, and will be portrayed by Richard de Klerk. In addition to him, fans can expect the second season to introduce arguably the most recognizable character from the Twisted Metal games, the half-man, half-murder vehicle Axel, appearing in War Wheel form. Axel is famously known as the muscular man who rides around with two gigantic wheels on his arms. Twisted Metal showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith explained Axel was missing from the first season because they hadn’t yet figured out how to bring him to the live-action screen.

“How do you do a character that is literally a giant muscular man stuck between two gigantic wheels? You look at the design and you say, ‘How?’ And then after you ask why. And I think it was a challenge. Absolutely.”

Smith assures us that Axel will appear in the second season in a rig that looks more makeshift than futuristic, noting that this is a “1.0 version of Axel” that’s still being worked on by whoever created Axel in the show. As long as he’s rolling around causing mayhem with the rest of the contestants in the live-action Twisted Metal battle royale, we’ll be happy murder voyeurs when July 31 comes around.

You can trust VideoGamer. Our team of gaming experts spend hours testing and reviewing the latest games, to ensure you’re reading the most comprehensive guide possible. Rest assured, all imagery and advice is unique and original. Check out how we test and review games here

The Finals Season 6 is currently in the midst of celebrating Easter, the time of the year where we all get fat devouring boxes of chocolate eggs. Embark’s last update delivered free rewards and some balance changes, and now the developer has just delivered a new patch. The Finals update 6.4.0 patch notes have just been shared, and they deliver a couple of big weapon buffs and nerfs, along with some new items in the store to get you in the Easter mood.

The Finals update 6.4.0 patch notes:

Below are The Finals update 6.4.0 patch notes:

This week’s update is all about controlled chaos. Tuning weapons for precision, flipping the switch on full-blown gameshow madness, and suiting up in some of our most stylish sets yet.

Gameplay-wise, we’re making targeted balance changes to two of the Arena’s most talked-about weapons. The CB-01 Repeater gets a boost to its environmental damage, making it far better at dealing with deployables and ziplines, while the Minigun receives a notable accuracy upgrade when focus-firing. We’re not touching the spin-up mechanic just yet, but it’s something we’re actively evaluating as the season progresses.

Week 2 of Bunny Bash is also live now, with a new circuit of event contracts for you to complete for some amazing rewards!

World Tour: Protocol Overdrive (Sponsored by ENGIMO)

ENGIMO is redefining chaos – again.

In Protocol Overdrive, gameshow events don’t just show up once per match – they hit back-to-back, dropping contestants into a relentless gauntlet of environmental hazards and alien mayhem.

Expect short moments of calm between bursts of absolute madness, with Meteor Showers and Alien Invasions shaking up the mid-game and forcing players to adapt on the fly. There’s barely time to breathe before the next disaster hits.

Arenas in rotation:

SYS$HORIZON

Bernal

Kyoto

Las Vegas Stadium

Over in the store, we’ve got a wild lineup of new cosmetics ready to drop:

Night Munchies Set“Carrots optional, casualties guaranteed.”Suit up in the Predator Payload outfit, complete with Assault Rabbit headgear and glowing Warren Glare eyes. Fluffy on the outside, ruthless on the inside.

Arena Vision Set“For contestants who see every angle in THE FINALS.”Featuring the Sappy Ending skin for the Cerberus, Sledgehammer, and SR-84. Because every story should end with a bang.

Opulent Heavy Bundle“Devastating luxury, tailored for destruction.”Dominate the battlefield with Skullbound Oblivion skins for the Shak-50, Flamethrower, and M60 – dark, ominous, and absurdly stylish.

Balance Changes

Weapons

CB-01 Repeater

Increased environmental damage from 8 to 18

Dev Note: With the previous environmental damage value the Repeater had a tough time destroying ziplines. This change should help to address that.

M134 Minigun

Decreased bullet dispersion when standing still and ‘focus firing’ (secondary fire) by approximately 10%, making the weapon more accurate

Decreased bullet dispersion when moving and focus firing by approximately 10%, making the weapon more accurate

Dev Note: We really like that the spin-up time of the Minigun encourages players to adopt a different style of play to other weapons when using it, such as making use of various shields to protect while spinning up, or using Proximity Sensors to provide an early warning that gives time to spin-up. Because of this, despite some feedback that the Minigun is a little underpowered, we’re reluctant to address that by reducing the spin-up time and making the gun more responsive, as this risks it simply turning into another LMG. Instead, we’re making an adjustment to the weapon’s accuracy to make it slightly more effective at range. Performance wise, our data is showing the Minigun performing somewhere in the middle of the pack, so we’re reasonably happy with how it’s behaving.

We do feel that ‘juggling’ and maintaining the spin-up state while moving is a little too easy right now, so it is our intent to review that and potentially change it later this season, as we do really want using the Minigun to commit players to being prepared in how they play, but it’s likely that if that change does go ahead, it will come with some other tweaks to offset that change. We’ll see exactly where we go with that as the season goes on.

For more The Finals, check out our guide to the best weapons in the game ranked, and we also have a guide to the best gadgets. In addition, we have a guide to the best FPS settings to help you win matches along with a ranking of the best classes in the game.

How To Use Cauldrons in Schedule 1 – ISK Mogul Adventures

0
How To Use Cauldrons in Schedule 1 – ISK Mogul Adventures

Schedule 1 doesn’t play, despite being a video game. When you actually get down to brass tacks of growing your fledgling criminal empire, a surprising amount of learning is in order. In the early game, you’re just a simple weed dealer, but you’ll quickly find your customers and dealers demand more. Once you’ve grown past the need for buds, you will need to start progressing into more advanced production chains, and that means Coca Leaves. And that means you need to unlock Cauldrons in Schedule 1.

Be sure to check out some of our other Schedule 1 guides to learn every tip when it comes to growing your new empire! For now, let’s keep reading to learn more!

How To Use Cauldrons in Schedule 1

Before you can even cook the coca, you need to grow it. Be warned, Coca takes a VERY long time to grow from seed. You will need to spend a lot of time watering these plants, and they won’t produce as many leaves as the starter bud seeds. The payoff here is that the mixes made from coca are much more potent, and thus much more expensive.

Once you’ve grown your coca, it’s time to choose what to do with it. If you need product immediately, processing the Standard quality base will be fine. But for late-game you need to move up higher in the Quality tiers.

The five rarity tiers of product are:

Trash (Dark red ★)Poor (Green ★)Standard (Blue ★)Premium (Pink ★)Heavenly (Gold ★)

You will get Standard product as long as your plant is properly watered and doesn’t spend too much time in the Needs Watered state. Standard is your goal for the first couple dealers, as most of the customers really only need that tier of quality. Fertilizer and Drying Racks are crucial here. Start by applying fertilizer to the plant as its growing, then dry it on a rack to improve the quality BEFORE you process the leaves.

Once you’ve grown your leaves, now comes the hard part. But first, a word on how to actually unlock cauldrons in Schedule 1.

How To Get The Cauldron

The cauldron can be purchased from the warehouse next to the pawnshop after you’ve unlocked Enforcer 1. This is pretty late into the game, and you will likely have a solid production chain setup so far. Ideally you have a business laundering money before you really jump into this, but it’s not totally needed. A cauldron costs $3,000, so bring plenty of cash with you.

This rank will also unlock the Docks region, so be ready to expand with more customers and dealers. Have some extra Premium product on hand to hand out as free samples to build your network faster.

Personally, you only need 2-3 cauldrons in Schedule 1 to fully stock a decent grow op. The number of plants you need to keep more than that running 24/7 would fill up the barn and cost a ton to run in staffing costs.

Now, on to actually using the thing.

How To Use The Cauldron

You can put up to 80 coca leaves inside a cauldron at once, and 20 cans of gasoline. Each batch uses 20 leaves and one can of gas, so don’t think you need hundreds of cans of gas to make a coca run work. The downside of this large storage capacity is two-fold: one is the time it takes to process, and the other is the post-cook mixing you need to do to make the base into usable product.

If you assign a Chemist to do the cooks, make sure to fill them up with gas and leaves to keep the cauldrons cooking away constantly.

How To Use The Cauldron in Schedule 1

You will also need Lab Ovens to turn the Base the cauldron produces into Cocaine. Take the base 10 units at a time and put it into ovens. I find that 2 Cauldrons can reliably supply 3 Lab Ovens with a consistent flow of Base.

The products below are affiliate links, we get a commission for any purchases made. If you want to help support ISKMogul at no additional cost, we really appreciate it.
