OutRun Amiga Edition – A vastly superior version of a classic racer has arrived on the Amiga! (HOT NEWS!)

OutRun Amiga Edition – A vastly superior version of a classic racer has arrived on the Amiga! (HOT NEWS!)

In 1986 Sega released one of the greatest racers of our time, it just had to be Out Run. An Arcade racer designed by Yu Suzuki, that was not only a commercial success, but became one of the best selling games of its time. A game that featured incredible graphics, fantastic music and fast paced track racing. Thankfully other people remember this Arcade classic, as we’ve recently found out, that reassembler has finally released his vastly superior version of Outrun for the Commodore Amiga. A version of the game which he hopes has put right “one of the nastiest Amiga arcade ports”.

And here’s the latest “An optimized port of SEGA’s 1986 arcade game OutRun, utilizing the original 68000 assembly code, to mid-spec Commodore Amiga computers. Whilst small compromises have been made to accommodate differences between the arcade hardware and the Amiga – this looks and plays almost identical to the original. This is not an emulator. Nor is it based on Cannonball, MAME,  or any existing project. It is a ground up rewrite in assembler, with a focus on performance.  This game requires the original graphics and audio data from the arcade ROMs. These are not included, and you must source them yourself”.

Cyberpunk 2077 2.3 is out with new vehicles, auto drive, AMD FSR 4, Intel XeSS 2 and more

Cyberpunk 2077 2.3 is out with new vehicles, auto drive, AMD FSR 4, Intel XeSS 2 and more

CD PROJEKT RED have released the latest major free update for Cyberpunk 2077 today, bringing with it new content and graphics enhancements. It’s quite a big one too, with a lot more than I expected them to add in after the last update. Nice to see them still continue to expand it though.

The full changelog:

Vehicles

Added 4 new vehicles, including several Side Jobs tied to acquiring them:

Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru Reward from a new side job (to unlock, complete The Hunt and The Beast In Me). An additional side job unlocks the CrystalCoat™ feature for it.
Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred” Reward from a new side job (to unlock, complete The Beast in Me: Badlands, The Beast in Me: Santo Domingo, Transmission, and Search and Destroy).”
Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa Reward from a new side job (to unlock, purchase 1 Yaiba vehicle, purchase at least 3 vehicles through AUTOFIXER, and complete Reported Crime: You Play with Fire…). If you fail the side job, the vehicle can later be purchased through AUTOFIXER.
Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila Available for purchase on AUTOFIXER.

Introducing AutoDrive! This cutting-edge, autonomous driving feature will take you to your chosen destination (i.e. job objective or placed pin on the map). If you have no set destination, it will take you on a leisurely ride through the streets of Night City. Simply hop in any of your vehicles, make sure you’re on a road, and hold H (PC) / Left Stick (consoles) to activate. This feature is disabled when you enter combat or when your vehicle is heavily damaged.
Implemented Cinematic Camera for AutoDrive. Hold Q (PC) / D-Pad Right (consoles) to activate. Sit back and enjoy cinematic views of Night City as you cruise toward your destination.
Self-driving Delamain cabs are now available on demand! Simply open the menu to call vehicles, then select “Delamain Cab” from the list to request a ride. This feature unlocks after completing the job Don’t Lose Your Mind (regardless of outcome) and receiving a message from Delamain.
Rayfield’s CrystalCoat™ is now available for vehicles from partner brands, including motorcycles. Additionally, the infamous hacker known as Cosmetic_Troll exploited a vulnerability and created a cracked version of Rayfield’s CrystalCoat™ technology for lower-end vehicles. Please note, however, that some models do not support the technology, such as heavily modded nomad vehicles and job-related vehicles.
Fixed an issue where unique color schemes did not work properly on the Mizutani Shion MZ1 and MZ2.
Fixed an issue where unique color scheme could not be applied properly to the Villefort Deleon “Vindicator”.

Photo Mode

Added 27 new NPCs that can be spawned in Photo Mode, including Rita Wheeler, the Cassel twins, fixers, Dum Dum, the iguana, Brendan, and more.
You can now switch between alternative outfits for NPCs spawned in Photo Mode.
You can now switch between V’s saved Wardrobe outfits in Photo Mode.
Added a confirmation pop-up when exiting Photo Mode to prevent accidental exits after setting up the perfect shot.
Added more customization options to the Look-At Camera feature, including an option for only the character’s eyes to turn toward the camera instead of their entire body.
Added improvements to Lighting:

Lights now spawn around the camera instead of the player character.
Added an outline to the spotlight mesh and an indicator when it’s off screen for better visibility.
Improved light movement speed on controllers.

Added multiple new stickers and frames, including iconic quotes and stylish overlays that let you turn your screenshots into Night City postcards – perfect for sharing memories from the City of Dreams.

Improved Depth of Field and moved it to the Camera tab.
Added a new Color Balance tab, allowing you to create your own custom filters.
Added a new Time and Weather tab:

Weather: includes rain, acid rain, fog, sandstorm, pollution, and sunny.
Time of Day: changes the time of day within Photo Mode.
Frame Forward: advances through an unlimited amount of frames to capture the perfect shot.
Game Speed: allows in-game time to progress while in Photo Mode.”

Quality of Life & Accessibility

The game will now detect if the player is using inverted mouse button settings and automatically adjusts in-game button prompts accordingly.
Added an option to toggle aiming down sights in Settings → Controls.

Jobs & Open World

Cyberpsycho Sighting: Bloody Ritual – the “Crack the ritualist’s shard” objective now properly disappears from the Journal after completing the objective.
Sex on Wheels – now properly appears in the Journal after receiving the message from Jake Estevez.
Shot by Both Sides – fixed an issue where selecting a specific dialogue option in the conversation with Bree created a nameless, iconless item in the player’s Inventory.
Shot by Both Sides – fixed an issue where the button to go to the lower level didn’t appear on the elevator panel.

Gameplay

Fixed an issue where, when using a controller in Trauma Drama, the controllable character would default to shooting upwards instead of forward.
Players can now drop more Cyberware Capacity Shards if some within the intended drop limit were previously missed.
Fixed an issue causing automatic weapons to fire slower than intended.
Fixed an issue where the Official BARGHEST Tac Vest didn’t drop from the scripted Airdrop as intended.
The level 60 Engineer perk no longer activates the EMP blast outside of combat or after entering a vehicle.
Added an option to replay the gameplay tutorial at any time via Settings → Controls.

Miscellaneous

Added an option to tell Johnny to go away after you look at him for a short while when he appears in the passenger seat. He takes the hint and disappears as a passenger for a couple days.
Fixed an issue where the sound of V’s Radioport could be randomly interrupted by the Radioports of nearby NPCs.
Fixed an issue where History by Gazelle Twin and Trash Generation played too loudly compared to other songs on the radio.
Improved the HDR Setting screen: fixed the HDR calibration preview so it correctly reflects the chosen settings, and clarified the description of the “Tone-Mapping Midpoint” setting.
Updated the End User Licence Agreement. You will be asked to accept it again when you load the game after updating.
Fixed several visual issues with missing, clipping, or floating textures.
Fixed several localization issues in various languages.

PC-specific

Added support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 for compatible AMD GPUs. IMPORTANT: The FSR 4 option will not be available in the in-game settings until the supporting AMD driver is installed. Please note that the driver will be released at a later date.
Added support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution Frame Generation 3.1 for compatible hardware. It can now be used in combination with any upscaler.
Added support for Intel XeSS 2.0, with XeSS Frame Generation available on compatible hardware.
Added support for HDR10+ GAMING certified Intel GPUs. To enable this feature, your display must support the technology (find my display) and have “Game Mode” enabled. The HDR10+ GAMING toggle can be found in Settings in the Video tab.
Fixed an issue where the DLSS Super Resolution Preset would invisibly revert from the CNN model to the Transformer model after restarting the game, even though the UI still displayed the CNN model as active.
Added more detailed information to the DLSS Super Resolution Preset tooltip in Settings to help players choose the best option for their setup.
Added the ability to move the mouse cursor to a different display while in Windowed Borderless mode.
Increased the maximum save size from 12 MB to 15 MB.
It will now be possible to rebind the key used to jump out of vehicles with the Stuntjock perk.

Hey, maybe I’ll finally actually go through it all the way now. Seems like a good time to do it.

Shigeru Miyamoto Reveals Who Will Play Link And Zelda In Live-Action Adaptation

Shigeru Miyamoto Reveals Who Will Play Link And Zelda In Live-Action Adaptation

It’s no secret that Nintendo is developing a The Legend of Zelda movie. While the Super Mario Bros. movie was entirely in CGI, the Zelda movie adaptation will be live-action.

Details surrounding the story have been kept under wraps, but a major development has been revealed by Nintendo today, and that’s the casting of the film’s protagonists.

These box-office stinkers thrived on consoles.

Nintendo executive and legendary game maker Shigeru Miyamoto announced the casting choices today, which is honestly a bit surprising.

the legend of zelda movie

The announcement by Miyamoto was made on X (formerly Twitter), where it was relayed via the official Nintendo account. Miyamoto revealed that Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason, while Link will be portrayed by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth.

While not necessarily household names, both actors have appeared in movies and TV. Bragason had a recurring role as Roxy Jackson in the TV show Renegade Nell, while Ainsworth starred as Mark Critch in the TV series Son of a Critch for more than 50 episodes.

Even if there are no story details available, I surmise Ganon will be the main villain, and the Triforce will somehow factor in his plans that Link and Zelda must thwart or Hyrule will be blanketed by darkness. Sounds about right, no?

With a release date of May 7, 2027, more casting choices and film details are expected to be announced soon, as shooting hasn’t yet begun.

Seasoned horror production company Blumhouse is co-producing with Kinetic Games.

Aside from The Legend of Zelda live-action film adaptation, Nintendo is also working on a Donkey Kong film adaptation based on the company’s registration filing alongside Universal Pictures.

Given how much money the Super Mario Bros. Movie has raked in for Nintendo, don’t be surprised if we see more feature films spun off from the company’s huge stable of characters. Speaking of which, check out our list of characters whom we think should be in the sequel.

The Legend of Zelda live-action movie is scheduled to hit theaters on May 7, 2027; however, don’t be surprised if that date is moved. Just like games, movies often get delayed, and Nintendo might shift that date around.

Maelle remains Clair Obscur’s boss-killing machine, even after being nerfed

Maelle remains Clair Obscur’s boss-killing machine, even after being nerfed

But you know who’s not getting wrecked? Maelle.

By the time Act 3 rolls around, you’ll unlock the full skill tree for the plucky teen, bringing with it some of the game’s most powerful abilities — for any character. Prior to the game’s first patch, Maelle’s Stendhal ability made breaking the game “a bit too easy,” as Sandfall wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter). Players could deal literal billions of damage, one-shotting anyone who stood in Maelle’s way.

Even post-nerf, Maelle is still Clair Obscur’s top killing machine, making a triviality out of any fight she wants to swiftly end. She’s so powerful that sometimes I feel like I’m going through the motions in using other characters’ turns to set her up for success, like burning enemies with Lune so Maelle can quickly use Swift Stride and enter Virtuoso Stance, which lets her deal 200% damage. For lengthier, tougher fights with enemies possessing seemingly infinite health, sometimes it’s fun to see just how big Maelle’s damage numbers can get.

Some players don’t want to just win fights, but want to see how badly they can break the game. And while Maelle is maybe the more popular killing machine, one who can reach those high damage marks during the natural flow of battle, fellow expeditioner Sciel is no slouch in doling out damage. Intentionally going into fights not with the goal of winning, but of utterly breaking the game means determined (and patient) expeditioners can absolutely break Clair Obscur with Sciel and her scythe.

Maelle and Sciel are likely Clair Obscur’s two best damage dealers. Lune can hit some high numbers, but she’s often more useful healing allies or targeting multiple foes for high damage versus a single enemy for extreme damage. I still struggle maximizing Verso’s Perfection, and Monoco was a tricky character to get the hang of — it wasn’t until late in the game before I was punishing enemies with Monoco, though I doubt I’ll be reaching 1.1 billion damage with him any time soon.

Even though Maelle’s powerful Stendhal ability was nerfed in May, “you absolutely still can” break the game, as Sandfall has stated and many, many players have proven. And it’s only fair — anyone who’s reached the end of the Renoir’s Drafts level knows that even having an OP build might not be enough for the game’s toughest enemies.

Analogue 3D Delayed To Late August Due To Tariffs

Analogue 3D Delayed To Late August Due To Tariffs

The Analogue 3D has been delayed once again, and it will now be shipping out in late August. Analogue says that recent tariff changes in the US are to blame, but the company is prepared to cover these extra costs and will not pass them on to consumers who preordered the $250 retro-game console.

“Following last week’s sudden tariff changes, Analogue 3D will now begin shipping next month. We’re absorbing the costs–your preorder price stays the same. No additional charges,” Analogue said in a statement on its website.

Several East-Asian countries are facing steep tariffs following US President Donald Trump’s announcement on July 7. These range from 25% to 40%, with these import taxes being charged on goods as they enter the US and paid for by American consumers and businesses.

The Analogue 3D was announced last year, and preorders for it sold out extremely quickly. Analogue originally aimed for a Q1 2025 release, but it was later delayed to July. The console is an FPGA device designed to provide an authentic N64 gameplay experience, but with the added benefit of a 4K resolution on modern displays. What also makes it appealing for retro-game enthusiasts is that it supports all of the original N64 accessories, but you can use modern peripherals like the 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller on it.

You can also cycle through various display modes made to reproduce the look of an old-school television set on the Analogue 3D, with faithfully reproduced scanlines and shadow mask effects that can recreate the CRT TV experience. Analogue said that it spent over four years developing a perfect way to experience N64 in FPGA for absolute accuracy, and ideally, this should be a massive step up when compared to an N64 emulator.

New Xbox Game Pass Games for July 2025

New Xbox Game Pass Games for July 2025

Xbox has announced the next bunch of games arriving on Game Pass this month, and there are a couple of bangers to look out for.

RoboCop: Rogue City was launched in 2023 to pretty strong reviews and a good reaction from players. As a first-person shooter, it sticks you in the robotic body of the iconic cop for whom even death was not enough to get a sick note and some time off work. Rogue City hitting Game Pass is perfect timing, because standalone expansion Unfinished Business is due to launch on the same day.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is another notable addition to the subscription service. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a dark and brooding action RPG set in the chaotic final years of the Ming Dynasty, blending Chinese folklore with a Soulslike structure. You play as Wuchang, a warrior afflicted by a mysterious disease that grants deadly power at a terrible cost. Expect deliberate, challenging combat, eerie environments drenched in historical mysticism, and a heavy emphasis on exploration and lore.

Grounded 2 is also going to launch into Game Preview. Grounded is one of those odd games that has quietly done exceptionally well for Xbox, and then went on to find a wider audience when it launched on PlayStation.

The Second-Best Deus Ex Is Stupid Cheap (And DRM-Free), But Hurry

The Second-Best Deus Ex Is Stupid Cheap (And DRM-Free), But Hurry

We may never get another Deus Ex game featuring Elias Toufexis’ lovely voice as Adam Jensen again, but right now you can snag Human Revolution, the debut of our sunglass-wearing badass cyborg, for less than five bucks and, since it’s on GOG, there’s no DRM, meaning you can back up copies of it, responsibly lend it to your friends and family members, or just enjoy the fact that you actually own this copy. The sale ends on Thursday evening, July 17, 2025.

Read More: Deus Ex: Human Revolution: The Kotaku Review

Released back in 2011 for PS3, Xbox 360, and Windows PCs, Human Revolution may have been the third game in the Deus Ex franchise, but it served as a narrative prequel to the first game. Featuring a brand new protagonist, Human Revolution wound back the clock on some of the series’ far future, cyberpunk tech, showing how both society and secretive shadowy conspiracy groups would respond to the development of cybernetic body components and the “augmented” people who choose or need to use them. Though it presents a somber, dystopic portrait of an overly teched-up society, it aspired to give that world a unique, Renaissance-era visual sensibility that developer Eidos-Montréal referred to as “cyber-renaissance.”

Human Revolution enjoyed positive reception from critics upon release, though some weren’t fans of its boss fights. While I didn’t enjoy those moments either, I found the game to deliver exactly the kind of moody cyberpunk narrative about what it means to be a human being I was looking for, wrapped in a challenging hybrid of immersive sim and action RPG. Human Revolution was the first game I played after going a few years without touching a video game, and I was stuck to it for a solid 19 hours straight on my first playthrough.

While it arguably doesn’t reach the same heights as the original Deus Ex, and doesn’t offer as much of an im-sim experience as the 2003 sequel Invisible War, I found its story to be a bit more thought provoking and grounded, even if it does still end up being about the illuminati. Meanwhile Human Revolution’s own sequel, Mankind Divided, flew too close to the sun with its direct appropriation of real-life, contemporary activist causes and rhetoric, applying them to its own story in ways that felt hamfisted and tone deaf.

When you consider that it’s highly unlikely we’ll see a new Deus Ex, at least any time soon, I think snagging this little chapter in the franchise for such a low price is pretty sweet. The fact that it comes without DRM on top of that is a nice bonus.

Dungeon Drops Steam Review

Dungeon Drops Steam Review

I found Dungeon Drops via the same discord I found Null Gravity Labyrinth, but unlike that game, this game is ok. In fact, its sort of inventive. You play this little dude who has constantly jump from dropping platform to dropping platform or die. Items will fall as well, and they have a variety of effects, from running faster to allowing you to float. Monsters will also drop, and you must kill them to get coins that you exchange in a store(along with diamonds that drop everywhere). The levels will have one of three different goals. Either you last a certain amount of time, collect a certain number of diamonds or collect a certain number of monster coins.

I have no idea what is going on with that monster.

Where Dungeon Drops falters is that the pieces that drop are completely random and drop in random places. This causes you to die more often than not. I’ve had blocks drop on top of ladders, blocking progress. I’ve been stuck on it the middle of nowhere with nowhere to jump to. Sure you can upgrade your jump, but it doesn’t always help. Every run should be based on skill, not a random number generator. After dying the umpteenth time to unfair drops, I just quit and went to write this review.

How do you avoid dying? You can’t.

As it stands, I cannot recommend Dungeon Drops, the randomized nature of things means you’ll die for reasons that are not your own, and that is simply bad game design. The game may be inventive, but that doesn’t mean there are not glaring problems with the game. This gets a Not Recommended with a five score.

Overall: Dungeon Drops is inventive, but that’s no excuse for extreme poor game design that destroys what could have been pretty cool.

Verdict: Not Recommended

Score: 5

Retro Power Arrives in Train Sim World 5 with the Classic BR Class 86/2 & Mk2F Coaches DLC | TheXboxHub

Train Sim World 5 BR Class 86:2 & Mk2F Coaches
Train Sim World 5 BR Class 86:2 & Mk2F Coaches

The golden age of British Rail electrification returns to the digital tracks of Train Sim World 5, bringing with it the distinctive hum of a true workhorse, all wrapped up in the BR Class 86/2 & Mk2F Coaches pack.

Renowned developer Just Trains hits Train Sim World 5 with the release of the BR Class 86/2 & Mk2F Coaches pack, a lovingly crafted recreation of a classic era on the West Coast Main Line.

This new locomotive add-on is available now for £19.99 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, inviting drivers to take a trip back in time.

Just Trains Builds on the World of Train Sim World

In exciting news for the community, this DLC marks a new drop from Just Trains, a highly respected name with a long history of creating quality add-ons for the classic train simulation scene.

Their arrival on the TSW platform brings a new level of expertise and a fresh perspective, this time around focusing on this iconic piece of British traction.

Meet the BR Class 86/2 ‘Electric Scot’

This comprehensive pack is centered around the classic BR Class 86 locomotive, offering a detailed and authentic driving experience.

First entering service in the mid-1960s to run on the newly electrified West Coast Main Line, the Class 86 was a staple of express passenger and freight services for decades.

With a maximum speed of 100mph, this “Electric Scot” is faithfully recreated with its distinctive features, including the plated-over Headcode box and the unique triple windscreen design.

New Coaches and Services

To complete the authentic 1980s feel, the pack includes brand-new Mk2F coaches and the much-loved Mk1 RMB (Restaurant Miniature Buffet) car – so yes, you can ask if anyone wants a sandwich!

This new rolling stock is designed to seamlessly integrate with the WCML: Preston – Carlisle route (recommended as a separate purchase for the full experience), where it will substitute into existing cross-country services, adding a fantastic layer of retro variety.

New Scenarios and Creative Freedom

Beyond just adding the loco and coaches, this pack includes new ways to play. Take the “Electric Scot” for a spin across five brand-new scenarios designed to test your skills.

For those with a creative spark, the Class 86 and its new coaches can be used in Free Roam on any route you own or used to build custom rail excursions in the Formation Designer.

A Classic Addition to an Evolving Platform

The introduction of this latest DLC from acclaimed third-party developers like Just Trains is a perfect example of how the Train Sim World franchise continues to grow and evolve.

In our 4/5 review of Train Sim World 5, we praised the series’ forward momentum, stating: “There is no denying that Dovetail Games are the masters of this genre… I feel they do continue to improve the franchise with every step. This time around with Train Sim World 5 that comes in the form of Conductor Mode and the route hopping.”

The addition of high-quality, classic content from new development partners is another significant step in that improvement.

Whether you’re a long-time rail fan nostalgic for the era of British Rail Blue, or a modern driver looking to master a piece of electric traction history, the Class 86/2 offers a unique and challenging experience.

It’s time to raise the pantograph and take a trip back in time on the West Coast Main Line. Head over to the Xbox Store if you wish to play this DLC on Xbox. Alternatively, you should well find it on the digital fronts of PlayStation and PC too.
