Suit up and head for the cloud. Mecha BREAK, the popular third-person shooter, is now available to stream on GeForce NOW with NVIDIA DLSS 4 technology.

Catch it this week as part of 10 new titles joining the nearly 5,000 games supported on GeForce NOW, in addition to Capcom’s Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy.

Ah, Let it Die. Quite possibly one of the most enigmatic free-to-play games of all time, it’s been 9 years since the original launched on PS4, where it introduced the world to Uncle Death, the Tower of Barbs and its Souls-lite hack and slash combat. It also introduced the world to the idea of paying real money to revive yourself, and while that might not have particularly caught on, the fact that it’s still going nearly a decade later shows that it got a lot of things right. Fans of the series can rejoice then, with the announcement of Let It Die: Inferno, a brand-new, full-price entry in the series that looks to take all those things that the original got right and make them better.

The Tower of Barbs is gone, and instead you’re about to embark on a mission into hell, descending through the different levels on the way to… well, I’m not sure yet, since Death appears at the start of the game, and it’s called Let It Die. Perhaps the things it wants you to let die are all the beasts and badniks that get in your way, and from the look of the announcement trailer, there’s going to be plenty of those to send on their way.

Touted as a ‘survival action roguelike’ Let It Die: Inferno is due to launch on the PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on the 3rd of December, 2025. Just like the original game, Let It Die: Inferno is being published by GungHo Online Entertainment, but where that was developed by Suda 51’s Grasshopper Manufacture, the team at Super Trick Games, who span off from the original developers and worked on the short-lived battle royale Deathverse: Let It Die, are once again taking the reins.

It already looks amazing, and seems to mix the characterful combat of the original with a thoroughly modern take on the Roguelike genre, while shifting to Unreal Engine 5 and a full-price release, which should hopefully remedy many player’s number one complaint with the first game. We’ll be checking it out over the next two days at the Tokyo Game Show, and we’ll be sure to let you know how it feels!

Despite the events of Halo: Reach famously killing off almost every member of Noble Team before the events of Halo: Combat Evolved, this fan-favorite fireteam will soon be fighting the Banished from Halo Wars 2 and Halo: Infinite. This surely will not cause any problems for Halo lore fans, nor my wallet.

Mantic Games’ Halo: Flashpoint is the epicenter of all this, a tabletop miniatures game (kinda like Warhammer 40k except it’s not at all like Warhammer 40k) heavily inspired by the multiplayer of Halo: Infinite. A setting that could, in theory, solve all these lore problems — depending on how much leeway you’re going to allow.

This information comes to us through a developer AMA, thanks to Wargamer. There, the Flashpoint’s designers left some not-so-subtle hints that Noble Team would enter the game with a release sometime in 2026.

When asked who their favorite non-Chief Spartan was, Halo Flashpoint’s rules head replied, “One that we’re going to make.” When pressed for clarity, Mantic Games’ CEO said “well, Noble Team are pretty cool, aren’t they?”

This was followed up by them showing off a silhouette of a mystery Spartan, with details Wargamer described as a “dead giveaway” for Noble Team’s Emile.

Halo: Flashpoint already has playable models for Spartans, Elites, ODSTs, and Banished Brutes, with other Covenent forces like Jackals and Grunts likely on the way. Most of these are perfectly fine options for Noble team to interact with, but those funny monkeys pose a problem.

Could Noble Team Have Ever Fought The Banished?

Based on Halopedia and some Spirited Forum Debate on the Banished’s origins, a fight between Noble Team and this brute-led Covenent splinter group seems… unlikely, to say the least.

In short: Noble Team’s various deaths all happened in 2552, just three years after the Banished was founded. But back then, humanity had much bigger threats to deal with. Dedicating Spartans to fighting a Covenent splinter group that was, itself, also warring against the same threat trying to exterminate humanity seems… farfetched as a premise, at the very least.

The exact year when the Banished became a threat at all to humanity is debatable, but few entertain the idea that this inflection point happened before the Covenent collapsed in the wake of Halo 3.

But, that’s where the setting of Halo: Flashpoint comes in. Flashpoint takes far more cues from Halo’s multiplayer, where playing fast and loose with canon is a bit more permissible. The in-universe explanation for why multiplayer does what it does is that it’s all combat training & simulations.

Now, would the UNSC have any qualms with sticking AI recreations of fallen war heroes into training simulations? It’s not completely out of the question, though it does create several questions more. None of which are in the scope of this article.

What is in scope, though, is the idea that this is all really damn cool. Noble Team is a beloved cast of characters, and getting to play with them on the tabletop just sounds like a whole lot of fun. Wallets may cry, but sometimes wallets just do that. We all have to make sacrifices for Rule of Cool sometimes.

Mario Kart World makes major Free Roam improvements in new patch



Nintendo has updated Mario Kart World to version 1.3.0, and the patch includes some notable quality-of-life improvements, especially for the game’s slightly undercooked Free Roam mode.

The biggest of these is that the Free Roam map now displays the locations of P Switches and Peach Medallions you’ve already found. While this keeps the locations of these collectibles a mystery, it should still make hunting for them easier, since you can easily see which parts of the map you’ve already covered and which could use further exploration. P Switch challenges you’ve yet to beat appear greyed out, and best of all, you can now fast travel to the location of any P Switch.

Nintendo has also added a new method for unlocking Mario Kart World’s special characters. Previously this was only possible if you happened to be transformed into them by Kamek during a race — an entirely random occurrence. The new method is slightly less arcane, but only slightly. If you see a UFO in Free Roam, are sucked up by it, and assume control of it, you can now use the UFO’s tractor beam to pull in special characters and transform into them. UFOs have been made more common as well.

Nintendo has also further increased the frequency of three-lap courses appearing in multiplayer races, a key complaint among players who are less keen on Mario Kart World’s point-to-point racing style (which was already the subject of an earlier patch). Many won’t be happy until the game introduces a circuit-racing-only mode, though.

Balance changes include item boxes reappearing faster after they’ve been taken, and increased invincibility time after spinning or crashing out during a race. Some game transitions have been sped up, and there are a slew of bug fixes, too.

General

You can now join friends playing “Knockout Tour” by selecting “Friends” from “Online Play” “1p.”

Up to 2 players can now play “Free Roam” while waiting if the game was full when trying to join friends playing “Race,” “Knockout Tour” or “Battle” in “Online Play.”

The “Free Roam” map now displays the locations of P Switches you’ve run over and Peach Medallions you’ve obtained.

You can now select a P Switch from the map and move to a location near the P Switch.

In “Free Roam”, you can now transform into the character pulled into the UFO.

If “Dash Food” in “Settings/Controller” is set to “Doesn’t transform” then you will not transform.

It is now easier to encounter UFOs in “Free Roam.”

The conditions for the appearance of some Peach Medallions in “Free Roam” have been adjusted.

When spectating in “Knockout Tour” or “Balloon Battle” in “Online Play” or “Wireless Play”, you can now choose who to watch, even if you are holding the Joy-Con 2 or Joy-Con horizontally.

Decreased the time between when an item box is taken by someone and the next time it is revived.

Increased the invincible time after spinning or crashing during a race.

Reduced the force of jumps when landing on a rival from above.

Decreased the amount of time between when you finish and when spectating begins in “Knockout Tour” or “Balloon Battle” in “Online Play” or “Wireless Play.”

Decreased the amount of time between passing through the checkpoint and when the ranking is displayed in “Knockout Tour” in “Wireless Play” and “LAN Play.”

Further increased the frequency of lap-type courses appearing in the selection when choosing the next course in “VS Race” and wireless races.

Fixed Issues

Fixed an issue in “Online Play” and “Wireless Play” where the ranking would sometimes become incorrect if a player went off course at the same time as reaching the finish line.

Fixed an issue in “Grand Prix”, “Knockout Tour”, and “VS Race”, where the CPU’s ranking would sometimes drop after reaching the finish line.

Fixed an issue in “Knockout Tour” in “Online Play” where other players’ ratings would sometimes appear as “0” on the results screen.

Fixed an issue where a Spiny Shell would sometimes pass the first place player in “Wireless Play” or “Online Play.”

Fixed an issue where players would sometimes be sent flying backwards a great distance when hit by a Spiny Shell.

Fixed an issue where the second item in an item slot would sometimes not disappear when hit by Lightning.

Fixed an issue where hitting the base of a pillar in mid-air would sometimes cause a large jump.

Fixed an issue that sometimes caused movement to become unstable when doing a wall ride on water.

Fixed an issue where players would sometimes be swept away strongly after landing when doing a mini jump while going up a river.

Fixed an issue where players would sometimes pass through the ground when hit by a car driving on the road.

Fixed an issue in “Free Roam” where players would sometimes be unable to enter pipes correctly after exiting a trailer.

Fixed an issue where the results screen would sometimes become distorted after spectating “Balloon Battle” in “Online Play.”

Fixed an issue where the game would sometimes not proceed to the course selection screen after exiting a pipe during “Free Roam” in “Online Play.”

Fixed an issue where Bullet Bill would sometimes slip through walls when used in “Sky-High Sundae.”

Fixed an issue where players would sometimes get stuck on a wall at the start of the race heading from “Airship Fortress” to “Shy Guy Bazaar.”

Fixed an issue where players would sometimes get stuck in walls when using a Bullet Bill in “Bowser’s Castle.”

Fixed an issue in “Cheep Cheep Falls” where item boxes were sometimes difficult to pick up when Smart Steering was turned on.

Fixed an issue in “Knockout Tour” “Spiny Rally” where sometimes there was an item box buried in the ground.

Several other issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience.

Borderlands 4 Switch 2 Release Has Been Delayed



Borderlands 4 debuted earlier this month on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. However, Switch 2 owners were supposed to get the game on October 3. Now, Gearbox Software has delayed the Borderlands 4 Switch 2 port 10 days before its release after citing a need for it to have more time in development.

Gearbox made the announcement on social media, and wrote that it “did not take this decision lightly.” The statement goes on to say that Gearbox is “committed to ensuring we deliver the best possible experience to our fans, and the game needs additional development and polish time to do that. Our hope is to also better align this release with the addition of cross saves, which we are working on and recognize is very important. We will update you all on the new release timing once we’ve fully adjusted our plans.”

The publisher also noted that all Borderlands 4 Switch 2 pre-orders will be canceled per Nintendo’s policy. Players can initiate a refund now or wait until Friday, September 26, when they will be issued automatically.

Borderlands 4 had positive critical reviews prior to launch, but PC players have left harsh feedback on Steam about performance and optimization issues. Gearbox Studios CEO Randy Pitchford has challenged players’ negative reviews about optimization issues and remained defiant about it days later, while also offering tips for better performance on PC and consoles.

Gearbox has already released a patch aimed at the PC stability issues. Pitchford has indicated that a PS5 Pro patch is in the works as well.

I’ve just found out via the Amiga community, that after finishing his Arcade to Amiga conversion of a 1981 game called ‘Lock n Chase’ by Data East, he’s now released a near final AGA and ECS Amiga version of Technōs Japan volley ball game called ”U.S. Championship V’Ball’. A 1988 beach volleyball sports game that was released for the arcades by Technōs Japan Corporation and later ports to the NES and X68000. To coincide with this news, provided below is the latest gameplay video.

If you’ve never played the game before, here’s what the wikipedia page says about US Championship V’ball. “The player takes control of a pair of self-described beach bums named George and Michael who make their living playing beach volleyball against locals. One day, they find a flyer for a nationwide beach volleyball tournament offering the winning team a $2,500,000 cash prize. In single-player mode, one person controls both characters on a team. In two-player mode, the players either cooperate by playing on the same team or compete against each other by controlling opposing teams”.

PlayStation State Of Play Announced For September 24, Promises Extended Look At Saros


PlayStation has decided to continue its annual tradition of hosting a State of Play, this time on September 24.

The PlayStation blog has the official deets, stating that we’ll be getting “more than 35 minutes reveals and news” from PlayStation Studios and other teams.

The headlining act is an extended look at Housemarque’s game Saros, the follow-up to Returnal. Said look will apparently include “nearly 5 minutes” of gameplay captured on PS5. If that’s the case, I wonder if we might also get a release date, or release window, announced.

Apart from that, rumours have been swirling that a new trailer for Insomniac’s Wolverine will debut at the event ahead of a 2026 release.

There’s also supposedly 2.5D God of War spin-off in developement, so it could get revealed. It may also tie into the next mainline God of War game, which is apparently going to have a very interesting new setting.

Other guesses I’d make is that Marvel Tokon might get some new characters revealed, and Ghost of Yotei is launching in just a few weeks, so despite there being a new trailer for it every 5 minutes, it’ll probably turn up in some capacity.

It’s only a matter of time before we need to start charging our wallets. In the meantime, how are you ensuring everything gets charged? You might want to get yourself a multi-port charging adapter. This Baseus charger features three separate charging ports. It’s equipped with two USB-C ports and one USB-A. Each USB-C port can individually support charging speeds of up to 100W. when split across both with a device plugged into each, the top one will supply 70W while the lower one supplies 30W. The USB-A port can provide up to 22.5W, but when all three are being used, you’ll get 65W and 20W on each of the USB-C ports and 15W on the USB-A. You can optimally choose what’s going in each port when charging multiple devices, such as reserving the fastest port for your laptop, secondary USB-C for your phone, and then the USB-A for your watch or earbuds.

Black Ops 7 is a little far off still, but if you thought next week’s big Call of Duty: Next multiplayer reveal event was going to be where most remaining information would be revealed, you’d actually be a little off base this time.

That’s because Treyarch and Raven have unveiled practically all details about the game’s multiplayer mode ahead of Next, showing off the hardware, the multiplayer arenas, and even going deep on movement and map design.

Manage cookie settings

The blog post has to be one of the largest I’ve ever seen for a Call of Duty game. It’s split into several different sections covering all aspects of multiplayer, essentially leaving very little a mystery.

The post walks us through all 18 maps coming to Black Ops 7 at launch – 16 core (6v6) multiplayer maps, and two Skirmish maps. Of those 16, three are Black Ops 2 remakes; those being Express, Hijacked, and Raid.

Skirmish is the new, big-player-count mode in Black Ops 7, offering 20v20 matches on two large maps that include team objectives, vehicles, and more. It’s nothing you haven’t seen before, and it’s actually one of the least discussed in the blog post. The other new addition to the mode gallery is Overload, which is a riff on Capture the Flag.

In terms of loadout-building, the big new feature this year is Overlock. It lets you modify tacticals, lethals, Field Upgrades, as well as Scorestreaks. You can have up to two Overclock abilities, which offer upgrades that could boost the damage of equipment, the way it interacts with the world, its cost (such as for Scorestreaks), how quickly it charges up (Field Upgrades) or give you the ability to carry more of it.

There’s also a section on progression in the post, which covers how the camo grind is going to work this time around, alongside several other details about the return of Weapon Prestige, and how progression is being tweaked in the game across the board.

We’re getting a similar deep dive into Zombies this week, but you can catch up on what’s been revealed so far about multiplayer at the link at the top of the post. Black Ops 7 arrives November 14 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
