Silent Hill f Insanity Leaks Into The Community As Moderators Crack Down On Toxicity

Silent Hill f Insanity Leaks Into The Community As Moderators Crack Down On Toxicity

Silent Hill and Resident Evil are two of the most iconic horror franchises that go way back. While both series were quite active since their launch till 2012, the latter, even if slow, still had some pipeline and made a comeback with RE7 and later became popular again with the RE2 Remake in 2019.

However, this wasn’t the case for Silent Hill; the series had been in a drought for more than a decade. Now, add to it the extra damage that fans received after PT got announced, only to be canceled. It wasn’t until last year, when the Silent Hill 2 remake was released, that any hope for the series was restored. And it seems like this lack of new games has done some damage to some die-hard fans.

Enter Silent Hill f. This game has Very Positive reviews on Steam, and our review, along with many others, shares the same notion that this game has definitely revived the series for good.

Naturally, not everyone agrees with this sentiment, which is fine—there are various reasons why one may not like the game. But the problem happens when people start attacking each other personally, which is what is going on in r/silenthill, and the moderators have decided to crack down on the toxicity.

r/silenthill Moderators Crack Down On The Toxicity Surrounding Silent Hill f

Reddit mod u/IlgnerJuan recently made a post with the caption “Starting today, we will be cracking down on the toxicity in this community.” on r/silenthill.

They describe how the mods “keep receiving reports and modmails of members doing personal attacks, insults and other offensive comments in several posts/discussions.” To make matters worse, some people started to abuse the report feature to falsely accuse others.

The mods have requested the community to be civil and respectful of each other. And even threatened to “permanently ban users who keep engaging in unhealthy discussions, trolling, ragebaiting and attacking those who are trying to have a normal discussion.”

From the look of things, it doesn’t seem like there was any particular post that caused this crackdown to happen, but rather frequent behavior by a few bad apples.

Not all is bad, though, because we got this interaction when mod u/IlgnerJuan commented how, with the time passing by, “this toxicity is becoming my own Silent Hill, lol.” To which Reddit user u/qwertyalguien quoted Silent Hill 2:

In my restless dreams,

I see that sub.

r/SilentHill*.*

You promised me you’d post there again someday.

But you never did.

Well, I’m alone there now…

In our ‘special thread’…

Waiting for you…

Waiting for you to

come to upvote me.

It goes without saying, no matter how much you liked or disliked Silent Hill f, going personally after someone for their opinion (no matter how outlandish it may be) is just sad.

If anything, this has been the best month for gaming, and if you have time to argue with someone, it would be better if you spend it playing Hades 2, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Dying Light: The Beast, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, or any of these games instead.

28 Years Later, Fantastic Four: First Steps, Ballerina, and every new movie you can watch on streaming this weekend

28 Years Later, Fantastic Four: First Steps, Ballerina, and every new movie you can watch on streaming this weekend

Danny Boyle and Alex Garland reunited for 28 Years Later, revolutionizing the zombie horror genre once again by combining it with a British family drama. The infected rush onto Netflix this weekend, and you’ll want to be sure to catch the film before 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple releases next year. For fans of a sillier form of horror, M3GAN 2.0 dances onto Peacock with the killer robot getting some upgrades to fight an even more dangerous AI.

The Fantastic Four jump from Earth 828 to VOD, offering another chance to catch up on the buildup for Avengers: Doomsday. The John Wick spinoff Ballerina makes its spectacular bloody debut on Starz.

Here’s a rundown of the most notable new releases on streaming and VOD, including the biggest, best, and most popular new movies you can watch at home right now.

New on Netflix

28 Years Later

Genre: Post-apocalyptic horror

Run time: 1h 55m

Director: Danny Boyle

Cast: Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O’Connell

28 years after the Rage Virus spread across Britain, survivors have eked out a community on an island only connected to the mainland during low tide. Worried about a mysterious illness afflicting his mother (Jodie Comer), 12-year-old Spike (Alfie Williams) makes the dangerous journey to look for help in a beautiful and very scary world.

From our review:

28 Days Later’s successors like I Am Legend, The Girl with All the Gifts and The Last of Us have also focused on the ways the initial infection evolves, but 28 Years Later stands apart by never searching for a larger cure or answers. Like the original, the film is firmly rooted in deeply personal drama, focusing on the questions of how to remember the dead and what human endeavors will stand the test of time. One of the many evocative and uncommented on shots of the film features a church spraypainted with an apocalyptic message, tagged with the name of a man who presumably came long after. 28 Years Later argues that the world is always ending for someone – what matters is how you handle the end and whatever comes next.

New on Apple TV Plus

All of You

Genre: Science fiction romance

Run time: 1h 38m

Director: William Bridges

Cast: Brett Goldstein, Imogen Poots, Zawe Ashton

Black Mirror writer William Bridges co-wrote and directed the very Black Mirror-like All of You, which is set in a world where people can take a test to find their soulmate. Simon (Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein) and Laura (Imogen Poots) have been best friends since college, but they put aside their feelings for each other and drift apart when Laura’s test matches her with another man.

New on Hulu

The Man in My Basement

Genre: Thriller

Run time: 1h 55m

Director: Nadia Latif

Cast: Corey Hawkins, Willem Dafoe, Anna Diop

Charles Blakely (Corey Hawkins) is about to lose his family home when the mysterious Anniston Bennet (Willem Dafoe) shows up on his doorstep offering to pay Charles a surprising amount to rent his basement. The solution to Charles’ financial troubles turns into a racially charged power struggle between the two men.

The Surfer

Genre: Psychological thriller

Run time: 1h 39m

Director: Lorcan Finnegan

Cast: Nicolas Cage, Julian McMahon, Finn Little

Yet another film where Nicolas Cage portrays a character whose grasp on sanity is tenuous at best, The Surfer sees the Face/Off and Longlegs star playing a man who returns to his childhood home in Australia and finds his simple desire to go surfing with his son stymied by a group of locals who consider him an interloper. Unwilling to accept defeat, the surfer refuses to leave and loses almost everything.

Valiant One

Genre: Action thriller

Run time: 1h 26m

Director: Steve Barnett

Cast: Chase Stokes, Lana Condor, Desmin Borges

What was supposed to be a routine mission in the demilitarized zone goes awry, leading to a U.S. Army helicopter crew crashing in North Korea. Unable to get support and facing the constant threat of capture, a young sergeant must find a way to get his unit and a civilian tech specialist back across the border.

New on Peacock

M3GAN 2.0

Genre: Science fiction action

Run time: 2h

Director: Gerard Johnstone

Cast: Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Ivanna Sakhno

Gerard Johnstone channels AI anxieties again in the sequel to 2023’s horror comedy M3GAN, swapping domestic horror for action. When the tech meant to create the perfect friend to a lonely tween is used in a military robot that tries to take over the world, the rogue robotic doll M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) gets the chance to redeem herself by stopping the threat.

New on Shudder

House on Eden

Genre: Horror

Run time: 1h 18m

Director: Kris Collins

Cast: Kris Collins, Celina Myers, Jason-Christopher Mayer

TikTok star Kris Collins writes, directs, and leads this low-budget found footage film about a team of ghost hunting vloggers who get more scares than they wanted from their latest outing. Kris, who plays a version of herself, redirects the team from the cemetery they were planning on filming at to an abandoned house in the hopes of spiking her follower count with unscripted content.

New on Starz

Ballerina

Genre: Action thriller

Run time: 2h 5m

Director: Len Wiseman

Cast: Ana de Armas, Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne

Set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4, Ballerina follows Eve (Ana de Armas), a ballerina/assassin/bodyguard on a quest for vengeance. Her mission puts her at odds with Wick (Keanu Reeves) himself as she kills her way through the franchise’s glamorous world battling cultists with style.

From our review:

While Ballerina’s wafer-thin plot leaves a thousand open questions about how this world could possibly work (honestly, another Wickiverse trademark), and several of the plot beats make no sense (like Winston casually breaking the rules of his vaunted, beloved assassin-safehouse hotel The Continental), in the end, most audiences are only really going to care about, and remember, Ballerina’s fight sequences. And while they aren’t all stunning — particularly in the draggy first act, as Eve learns to fight — the movie builds up to some sequences that stand out among the franchise’s most ambitious, wild efforts.

New to rent

All the Devils Are Here

Genre: Thriller

Run time: 1h 30m

Director: Barnaby Roper

Cast: Eddie Marsan, Sam Claflin, Burn Gorman

A group of four thieves have just pulled a heist and are laying low in a rural home. But with too much time on their hands to indulge their vices and consider doublecrossing each other and their boss, tensions start rising as each of the criminals tries to figure out who they can actually trust.

The Cut

Genre: Psychological thriller

Run time: 1h 36m

Director: Sean Ellis

Cast: Orlando Bloom, Caitríona Balfe, John Turturro

A boxer (Orlando Bloom) is given a chance to restart his career with a championship fight, but he has just six days to lose enough weight to be in fighting shape. With a brutal and dangerous regiment designed by his coach (John Turturro) he puts his health and sanity on the line for a chance at redemption.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

Genre: Superhero

Run time: 1h 54m

Director: Matt Shakman

Cast: Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach

Four astronauts were exposed to cosmic rays and returned to a retro-futuristic version of Earth with incredible abilities, using them to establish world peace as the Fantastic Four. But when an alien visitor (Julia Garner) declares that their world will be devoured by the ancient being Galactus (Ralph Ineson) the team desperately tries to protect their family and the planet.

From our review:

Apocalyptic stakes are nothing new for the MCU, though this film can at least milk some tension from the fact that since its setting is an alternate Earth, it doesn’t actually need to survive for the franchise to continue. The bigger problem is the tonal disconnect of inserting a galaxy-spanning threat into a movie that’s at its best as an intimate story about family bonds.

Went Up the Hill

Genre: Psychological drama

Run time: 1h 40m

Director: Samuel Van Grinsven

Cast: Dacre Montgomery, Vicky Krieps

A young man (Dacre Montgomery) returns home to New Zealand for the funeral of his estranged mother and meets her grieving widow (Vicky Krieps). When he agrees to stay with her, the dead woman possesses the two of them as a way to communicate, forcing them to grapple with their loss while fighting to survive.

Diablo 4’s third and final collab is with… StarCraft, and it looks just about as soulless as the Berserk cross-over

Diablo 4’s third and final collab is with… StarCraft, and it looks just about as soulless as the Berserk cross-over

We’re officially in the march towards the end of 2025. In Diablo 4 terms, we’re in the early days of the launch of the game’s last season of the year. Though much of Season 10 itself has been a known quantity for a while, there was one mystery still to be revealed.

I’m talking, of course, about the final collaboration event, which we knew would take place during Season 10. Blizzard has now officially revealed which IP is going to be crossing over with the world of Diablo 4.

The Diablo 4 roadmap promised two cross-over events. The first was with Berserk, and now the second – and final – collaboration event has been officially announced. Unlike the first one, this one is going to be with a Blizzard franchise: StarCraft. It’s kicking off this evening and will run until October 10.

Strangely, however, there’s no gameplay component to this one, or a separate Reliquary (battle pass). StarCraft’s factions won’t be invading Sanctuary or anything. Instead, it’s mainly an opportunity to sell expensive cosmetics, which went over well last time.

If you’re fine parting with your money, you can get your hands on StarCraft-inspired cosmetics for each of Diablo 4’s classes. You can make your character look like The Queen of Blades (Kerrigan), Mengsk, Zagara, Jim Raynor, Tassadar or Zeratul.

There’s also a mount bundle that lets you ride around a Zergling, or have a different Zerg as a pet. Prices haven’t been announced for any of these items, but expect each skin to cost around $20 at minimum.

The free stuff. | Image credit: Blizzard Entertainment.

There’s a set of free items, too, which you’ll also find in the in-game store. That’s three emblems, and three weapon cosmetics for the mace, two-handed polearm, and the two-handed crossbow. The free gifts will roll out daily, starting today until September 28. You will, however, be able to claim them for the entire runtime of the event.

Alongside the main event, there’s also a Twitch Drops promotion that will be available at the same time: September 26 – October 10. Watching any Twitch streamer in the Diablo 4 category (who has Drops enabled) will earn you three emblems. You get the first one after watching for two hours, the second after four hours, and the third when you accumulate six hours of watch time within that window.

And that’s about it for this one. One could only hope Blizzard’s next attempt at a Diablo 4 cross-over event will have more soul to it.

Bowser Leaves Nintendo – Kotaku

Bowser Leaves Nintendo – Kotaku

Doug Bowser is stepping down as President of Nintendo of America after five years in charge of the North American business unit. The 10-year veteran of the Mario maker departs shortly after the arrival of the Switch 2 with his retirement taking effect December 31. He’ll be replaced by long-time Nintendo executive Devon Pritchard, who will have the distinction of being the first female president in Nintendo of America’s history.

“One of my earliest video game experiences was playing the arcade version of Donkey Kong,” Bowser said in a press release. “Since that time, all things Nintendo have continued to be a passion for both me and my family. Leading Nintendo of America has been the honor of a lifetime, and I am proud of what our team has accomplished in both business results and the experiences we’ve created for consumers. Now, it’s time for the next generation of leadership and Devon’s track record speaks for itself. She is an exceptional leader, and her promotion is a testament to her strong performance and strategic contributions to the company’s growth. I have full confidence that she will guide the company to even greater heights.”

Satoru Shibata, who at various times in the past was head of Nintendo Australia and Nintendo Europe, will be joining Nintendo of America as chief executive officer, while maintaining his role as managing executive officer at Nintendo Co. in Japan. Pritchard will be elevated to the Nintendo of America Board of Directors and join the executive officer group in Japan.

“With characters and worlds that offer something for everyone, my focus will be continuing to build on Nintendo’s legacy of surprising and delighting our longtime fans, while at the same time welcoming new players into the Nintendo family,” Pritchard said in a statement.

Bowser took over as President of Nintendo of America back in 2019 after Reggie Fils-Aime stepped down following 15 years in the position. Bowser took on a less visible role than his predecessor, but has still appeared in the occasional Nintendo Direct and at big launches, including the recent opening of a new Nintendo store in San Francisco. Bowser’s departure comes shortly after IGN reported a change to the customer service department at Nintendo of America, including more outsourcing to cut costs.

“During his tenure, Doug made numerous contributions to bring smiles to the faces of people connected to Nintendo,” Nintendo head Shuntaro Furukawa said in a statement. “I would like to express my gratitude for his strong efforts.”

Mamorukun Recurse
Mamorukun Recurse! – out now

A beloved Japanese arcade classic, where you can dynamically alter the difficulty by cursing your own bullets, has been reborn and enhanced for a modern audience.

A revival of the 2008 arcade hit, Mamorukun ReCurse! is a unique vertical-scrolling shoot ‘em up from developer City Connection and publisher Clear River Games – and it is now available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC for £20.99.

Prepare to dive into a colourful and charming world inspired by traditional Japanese mythology, where the greater the risk, the higher the score!

An Arcade Classic, Reborn

Mamorukun ReCurse! is a revival of Mamorukun Curse!, a game that originally debuted in Japanese arcades back in mid-2008. It draws its inspiration from traditional Japanese mythology, blending it into a vibrant and family-friendly world. You can even curse yourself to increase your own damage and overcome more challenging foes.

In another unique twist, you control the scroll of the screen. The stage will only advance when you move your character forward. But be warned, the game is timed, so standing still all day is not an option!

A Complete and Enhanced Experience

This new version is absolutely packed with content, leaving players spoilt for choice with its different modes:

Arcade Mode: The original 2008 version of the game.

Story Mode: Switch between characters and aim to conquer all five worlds.

Netherworld Action Mode: Choose three characters and take on predetermined challenge courses.

On top of that, the game also includes previously released DLC characters, alternate costumes, and a full Gallery Mode.

A true classic from the golden age of the Japanese arcade has been reborn. And of course, other storefronts will cover the bases if you play elsewhere.

Mamorukun ReCurse! Description

How to Get Iga Legendary One-Handed Mace in Dying Light: The Beast

How to Get Iga Legendary One-Handed Mace in Dying Light: The Beast

Dying Light: The Beast offers a wide variety of weapons for Kyle to use against the zombies in Castor Woods. The weapons come in different rarities, with Legendary being the rarest. One of the early/mid-game legendary weapons that players can acquire is the Iga, a Legendary One-Handed Mace. It deals more damage than a regular One-handed Mace weapon and offers multiple bonus stats. Acquiring this weapon early will make your playthrough a lot easier, especially when fighting with multiple zombies at a time. In this guide, we will tell you how to get the Iga, a Legendary One-Handed Mace in Dying Light: The Beast.

Location of the Iga Legendary One-Handed Mace in Dying Light: The Beast

The Iga is located in the attic of the house, right of the Pharmacy (Dead Zone) in the Golden Pine of the Villa Area. As players start exploring the east of the Old Town, they will venture into the Villa Area. The Golden Pine is in the center of the Villa Area, containing several houses and Dead Zones. Go to the center of the Golden Pine and make your way to the house right of the Pharmacy (Dead Zone).

How to Get the Iga One-Handed Mace in Dying Light: The Beast

The area around the house will have a lot of zombies; kill all of them and go to the front side of the house. Here, you will see a climbing spot on the wall. Climb up to the balcony and then jump up again to grab the blue ledge above. Climb up and enter the attic.

The Iga Mace will be on the far pillar wall in the attic. Go near it and interact with Iga to pick it up. Once done, you can now equip it from the weapons section of the inventory.

NOTE: Iga is a unique One-Handed Mace weapon, meaning you cannot repair it.

If you want to use Iga again, you will need to craft it using its blueprint.

Delulu mode has been very successful in its first week. Epic Games released it last Thursday, allowing content creators to try out its early access version. A day later, everyone received access to the new game mode, which turned out to be a big hit for the game developer.

What makes this mode unique is the addition of proximity chat. Essentially, everyone who wants to play it has to enable chat. The mode has only been active for four days, as Epic disabled it on Monday. However, it will return over the weekend, and it will be better than before!

How to play with your Fortnite squad in Delulu mode?

The first version of the Delulu mode did not allow players to team up and win together. Players who queued together were put in the same lobby, but not on the same squad. After that, players had to find each other and use special emotes. However, winning was only possible as a solo player. Fortunately, that is no longer the case.

With the release of the v37.11 update, Fortnite made winning possible in squads. This means that the next time you play, your victory will count regardless of whether you win as a solo player or with your teammates.

Winning as a solo player was quite frustrating, and many players resorted to using glitches to get the special victory umbrella. However, this will no longer be necessary, as the game mode will now reward everyone with a proper squad victory.

Epic Games will bring back the Delulu mode on Friday, September 26. Once again, the mode will stay active over the weekend. Considering its popularity, Delulu may become a permanent mode in the future, although this may not be the best move.

Forza Horizon 6 Announced For Xbox, PC And PlayStation 5

Forza Horizon 6 Announced For Xbox, PC And PlayStation 5

Microsoft has official announced Forza Horizon 6 and confirmed that it will indeed take place in Tokyo, a long-requested setting for the series, which has previously visited the UK, Mexico and Australia.

We got a very brief teaser trailer shown at Tokyo Game Show, but notably absolutely zero gameplay was shown.

“For a long time, Japan has been top of Horizon fans’ wish lists, so we’re excited to finally be bringing this much-requested location to players in Forza Horizon 6,” explains  Art Director, Don Arceta in a post on Xbox Wire. “Japan has such a unique culture – from cars, to music, to fashion – that make it perfect for the next Horizon setting.

The teaser trailer offers a glimpse of Mount Fuji, while the blog post also says we will get to visit Tokyo City and explore some of rural Japan.

“While we can’t reveal any specific details quite yet, we will of course be following in the footsteps of Forza Horizon 5 in delivering a broad range of cars that players will know and love. Japan – of course – has a unique car culture all of its own, and we’re excited to have the opportunity to explore that in this game,” said Arceta.

The post also confirmed that seasonal changes will return, so you’ll be able to drive in the sweltering heat and then watch as the weather gradually shifts toward winter.

So when is the game launching? Well, right now we just have a vague 2026 for Xbox and PC. A PS5 version has been confirmed, but it won’t be coming until sometime after the Xbox and PC versions.
