Fashion loves love. So whenever Chinese Valentine’s Day rolls around, brands get creative to not just lens their pieces in a new, rosy light, but fit them to Eastern palates of romance. Think cinematic, slightly forlorn, decadent and pink — of course, expressed to each their own. Counting brands like Gucci, Boucheron, Lemaire and more, collated here are some of the Qixi campaigns sharing through storytelling and aesthetic interpretations of the occasion.

This coming Saturday we will be trying a new type of PS event – a pre-owned clothing sale.
Everyone accumulates too many clothes when they love menswear, and finding a way to give them a new, loving home is both useful and responsible. The idea with the event is that we’re bringing together a group of such people, and readers have the chance to and try and buy their things in person, rather than just online.
The event is this Saturday, September 6th, from 10am to 6pm in the Permanent Style Showroom (37 Harley Street).
In other news, we’re holding a joint event with Trunk in Zurich on September 18th, so please come if you’re not too far away. There will be book signing, and we’ll be bringing a size run of our new outerwear launch.
And, Rubato have just announced they’ll be coming back to London in November. They will be at the PS showroom from November 20th to 22nd.
On the pre-owned sale, the idea is that we’re starting with members of the PS team plus a couple of friends. It’s myself, Lucas, Shun, Alex Natt and Luke Walker. This is about as much as we can fit in the showroom, because everyone has so many great things to bring. But in the future, if it’s popular we can expand the format and include readers as sellers.
The nice thing about our group is that there’s a real range of sizes, so there should be something for everyone. My old tailoring is a 38-inch chest, but some things will be 40, Luke is smaller than me, Alex a size bigger, while Shun is a 40 or 42, Lucas a 44 or 46. So five sizes covered, and things like shoes will be similar.
Highlights of what I will be bringing include:
Three bespoke suits A few pairs of bespoke shoes Several handmade shirts A Loro Piana bomber And about a half dozen PS samples
Alex has some Rubato, Bryceland’s and Anthology, plus some ex-Clutch stock. Shun has shoes from Edward Green, Gaziano & Girling and JM Weston, a Connolly coat and a fair bit of Drake’s. Lucas always has some weird and wonderful vintage, with a good chunk of Armani. I know he’s got too many shoes as well!
I’m planning to send everything of mine that doesn’t sell to Marrkt. That way readers outside London can see some of it online and get a chance to participate. I’ll ask the others if they fancy doing that as well.
Last time, a few readers asked where the showroom is. It’s 37 Harley Street, a beautiful old Bath-stone building on the corner of Harley Street and Queen Anne Street. It’s very close to Oxford Street, just a couple of minutes walk. We’re on the first floor – buzz to be let up.
I’m pleased to be coming to Zurich for the first time, as there are a few readers I want to connect with. Do come by the Trunk store and get a cocktail. They’ve also just got their order of The Style Guide and Casual Style Guide, which have just been restocked, plus the magazine.
It was a shame Rubato won’t be coming to New York with us this autumn, so it’s great they’re coming to London. They’ll be in the showroom November 20th-22nd, Thursday to Saturday. Times and details as normal, all listed on the Events page of PS, as are the other events.
The guys have some new categories they’ve already started teasing, but I’ve yet to see any of it, so pretty excited.

Achieving an elegant and classy look doesn’t always have to be expensive. In fact, many times the most stylish outfits are those that you can mix and match from your wardrobe or find inexpensively at a thrift store.
In order to look stylish, you must first be confident in yourself, because style starts from within. To help you get started with dressing well on any budget, here are some tips for both men and women on how to look classy.
How to Dress Classy For Any Occasion
Everyone has their own definition of what it means to dress classy, but first and foremost, dressing well should be about being comfortable in your clothes. Dressing for a formal occasion doesn’t mean you have to wear a tuxedo or ball gown – there are plenty of elegant pieces that will work for any event.
Buy quality over quantity. Cheap clothes look bad after some time because they fade in color and lose shape quickly which means that people need to spend more money to purchase new clothing items.
Invest in classic styles that you know will last for many years; some examples might be black pumps, dark wash jeans or a fitted peplum top. It’s also important to remember the classics don’t always mean boring! In the hit TV series Succession, the character Shiv Roy rocks her stealth wealth outfits from quiet luxury brands.
Make sure to take care of your clothes by washing them on the gentle cycle and hanging them up to dry. This will help prevent wrinkles and keep colors bright.
Dry clean suits or dresses that are made out of fabric like silk or lace, even if they’re machine washable! Invest in good quality, non-slip clothes hangers and consider buying a clothes steamer which is gentler for clothes than ironing.
Don’t buy things just because they’re on sale, make sure you actually like the item and that it’s something you can use.
Don’t get too attached to one particular style. Always remember that fashion trends come and go so if there’s a trend or look that you really want to wear right now, chances are it will be over in six months.
Instead of buying things just because they’re trendy, try and find things that you like the look of, even if it’s not “in style” at the moment.
Find out what colors work best for your skin tone.
Don’t wait until you have a specific event to go shopping for it! Even if you don’t need anything at the moment, planning ahead will help you to find the perfect outfit. It will also ensure that when something does come up there are already good quality basics in your wardrobe that match.
This way all you’ll have to do is grab those items and wear them, rather than having to go purchase something you don’t actually need yet.
Favor neutral colors and styles, but don’t be afraid to try new things. Be open minded about how you can style an item differently than the way it’s shown in its original packaging or on a mannequin in the store.
Sometimes just changing up how you wear something is an easy way to breathe life into your wardrobe and make an old piece feel new again.

Adapt Your Personal Style to Your Body Type
Buy clothes in your actual size rather than one smaller; when items are too small they will never look as good on you. Wear clothes that fit correctly so they don’t restrict movement.
Don’t just assess how something fits your body – you also need to consider how it makes you look. The higher waistline on a pencil skirt can give an hourglass shape, while certain men’s shirt collars can help to balance a round face.
Look at yourself from different angles; try standing up and looking in a full length mirror, don’t just stand with one leg in front of the other, stand normally.
Layering gives a classy look to outfits
Mix and Match to Look and Feel Classy
Layering clothes is a great way to add different textures to outfits.
Don’t be afraid to mix high end with low end; if your money is tight or you can only buy a few things this season, don’t worry about the brands because nobody will know!
Mix prints to add interest without being too loud. You might not think of combining printed pants with a lace top, but it’s worth trying new things to develop your own personal style.
Repurpose evening wear for daytime. Just because something is labeled for nighttime doesn’t mean it can’t be worn in the day time, or vice versa.
For example, try wearing black dress pants with heels during the day time over a pair of nice jeans and a blouse.
How Do I Know When to Dress Casual or Formal?
Dressing for a particular occasion is all about paying attention to the details and dressing to suit your body shape.
If you are going for a job interview it is best to be overdressed rather than underdressed.
For an important meeting, be sure to dress formally. But if you are attending a less formal industry event like a networking session or conference, then the dress code might be more casual.
If an event is described as “business casual” it means that men should wear pants and women may either choose to wear slacks or dresses/skirts.
For a smart casual dinner date or social event, choose an outfit that makes you feel confident and comfortable. You can also opt for denim jeans if they fit well.
When in doubt about the right dress code, it is always better to dress too formally rather than not formal enough.
A navy blue blazer is versatile for both men and women. You can dress it up or down for a preppy or casual look.
For any event, if you want to look stylish then the easiest way is to wear a pair of statement shoes or a standout accessory like a silk tie for men or a luxury handbag for women.
Tips on how to dress classy for any occasion
How to Dress Classy for Men
For stylish men, get started by investing in quality pieces that will last. It’s better if they’re versatile enough to wear to different occasions, so consider investing in a suit or dress pants and button-down shirt. Make sure the clothes fit well by having them tailored if necessary – it will be worth it in the long run.
In addition to quality over quantity, when shopping for men’s suits, look for timeless pieces with interesting textures and patterns that will help you stand out without being too loud or distracting.
A tailored wool blazer is never out of style and can go well with any outfit. For a truly customized look, consider having a bespoke garment made for you.
When going for an interview or attending any formal event men should wear dressy shoes with leather uppers, not sneakers. For formal events such as black tie parties, tuxedos are the most appropriate choice for men.
Men can also wear a suit without tie, but they need to make sure that it looks slightly dressier by adding accessories such as cufflinks or a pocket square in their blazer pockets. For less formal events and occasions men can wear semi casual outfits like jeans with a blazer or a button up shirt. And consider investing in a cool man’s hat too.

What are the Main Pieces That Every Man Needs in Their Wardrobe?
A suit that can be tailored for any occasion.
Dress shirts in a variety of colors, patterns and styles to match your personality, body type and budget.
Matching ties or bowties depending on the look you are trying to achieve for various occasions.
An assortment of belts with different widths and buckles to coordinate with the shoes and accessories of your choice.
Shoes – a pair of well shined dress shoes or wing tip oxfords depending on what look you are trying to achieve for various occasions.
Dress pants in a variety of colors, patterns and fabrics that match your personality, body type and budget.
Matching socks to coordinate with the shoes and accessories of your choice.
A well-fitting white shirt always looks smart
How to Dress Like a Classy Woman
For women, a good tip is to find inexpensive items at thrift stores and mix them with high-quality pieces you’ve already invested in so they can last long term. This way, not only are your outfits on point but they’re reasonably priced too.
Luxurious fabrics like cashmere and silk will never go out of style. An oversized cashmere coat like this one from Gentle Herd looks effortlessly chic.

Choose a few quality pieces of clothing with a perfect fit which you can wear over and over again without looking dated (unless it’s something like an 80s prom dress). Also consider purchasing some basic clothes that look expensive, such as a grey trench coat.

Make sure that your underwear is giving support. If it isn’t fitting properly then all of the other things in your outfit won’t fit right either!
Think of accessories as the icing on top of the cake. Make sure everything works together to give an overall cohesive look and classy vibe. For example, if you wear statement earrings, then keep everything else simple.
While shopping online can be helpful for finding things within budget or in your size, take note of reviews and ask other people who have tried the product before. If the majority of people say that it runs small or large, then take note and order accordingly!
Stylish accessories always look classy
What are the Main Pieces That Every Woman Needs in Their Wardrobe?
The following pieces are timeless, and with a few key additions you can create multiple outfits from just these items alone.
Boots: most women already own at least one pair boots and they are among the most versatile shoes to own. They go with jeans, skirts or dresses; long or short and can be worn in fall, winter and spring (depending on your climate). When you invest in a good pair of boots it will pay off, because they are an accessory that lasts for years.
Classic coat: choose a beige trench coat, black or camel coat rather than bright colors, for a classy style that will stand the test of time. Decorate it with a vintage brooch for an elegant look.
Tailored shirtdress: a great transition piece that will take you from day to to evening. Just add statement earrings or a contrasting belt for nighttime glamour. This belted silk shirt dress by Gentle Herd will flatter all skin tones.

Pumps or heels: a good pair of shoes helps to create a polished look. When buying heels, it’s important to find a pair that is versatile enough for different outfits while being comfortable to wear all day long. Make sure they are not too high, because if they’re hard to walk in then it defeats their purpose of being comfortable.
Black pants: a pair of well-fitted pants is essential because they are the most versatile piece in your wardrobe. They can be dressed up or down. When shopping for a pair of pants, make sure to pay attention to how you like them fitted on your waistline; loose fitting, skinny, flares and so on.
Tops: the tops that you own can be categorized into two groups; casual or dressy. It’s best to purchase a few pieces of each which will give you the ability to mix them up when dressing for occasions. If your pants are fitted, wear a formal top such as a white blouse with them, while wearing a casual top with loose fitting pants.
Shades: a versatile pair of sunglasses are a great way to protect your eyes from sun rays while staying stylish at the same time. Choose the best sunglasses for your face shape to achieve the perfect look.
Hat: A good hat is a great accessory that complements many outfits. It’s perfect for sunny days and chilly evenings. Make sure you find one that suits your style, has the right fit and also is comfortable to wear.
Jewelry: every woman should own a few pieces of jewelry, but invest in good quality items because they can last for years and even be passed down from one generation to the next. When shopping around, look for pieces that go with most outfits and compliment them as well.

Fashion designers don’t just wait for inspiration—they chase it like it’s the last slice of pizza at a fashion week afterparty. Sure, their process sounds elegant, but at heart, it takes talent, skill, tons of research and a thing called a Process Book to help them develop their ideas. Being inspired isn’t just about people-watching mixed with Pinterest marathons, or copying some bold teenager’s outfit and calling it couture. It’s a process.
In a previous blog, guest writer Annabella Lawlor covered the six ‘must see’ fashion museum exhibitions for 2025 as great sources of inspiration for fashion designers. This week I’ll expand on the topic of inspirational sources and how designers organize their ideas that later turn into product. It starts with the Process Book.
The Process Book
University of Fashion’s lesson on How to Create a Process Book by Nicole Bisono
Designers are like walking sponges, always in tune with their surroundings. With brains that process information like mini-computers, designers are constantly observing and engaging. They dive into books, music, films, art, architecture, are hyper-tuned into cultural events and politics, and even travel to remote places to find inspiration. Everything that sparks an idea gets recorded in a thing called a Process Book.
They take photos, hoard fabric scraps, collect flowers or other interesting tidbits and scribble tons of design details. They endlessly sketch things that can later be used in future collections. It becomes a treasure chest full of ideas.
Did you know that sometimes a prospective employer will require a job applicant to show their process book? It’s a great way for a company to see the designer’s creative thought process.
Among the objects that have provided inspiration include the Fabergé egg from the 19th and early 20th Russian court. Under the creative direction of Olivier Rousteing, the Balmain Fall/Winter 2012 collection was heavily inspired by the opulent and intricate artistry of these eggs, which today can be worth millions of dollars, in fact some exceeding $30 million. This collection translated the grandeur of the iconic eggs into elaborate clothing designs, featuring meticulous embellishments, crystals, pearls, and golden threads.
Dolce & Gabbana’s playing card inspiration in their Spring 2018 collection (Image credit: in digital.tv)
Another inspiring object is the playing card. In 2018, Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2018 collection, titled Amore e Bellezza (Love is Beauty), drew inspiration from the Queen of Hearts, a romantic 1950s aesthetic, and elements of Italian food and family tradition. The show featured a lavish set with giant playing cards and a carpeted runway, with models adorned in clothing and accessories reflecting these themes.
Sometimes fashion designers are inspired by artists. One of the most popular sources of inspiration has been Australian-born performance artist Leigh Bowery (1961-1994), who became one of Britain’s most heroically ambitious, yet underappreciated designer/performance artists. Bowery’s work has had a profound impact on designers beginning in the 80s & early 90s, inspiring designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, Gareth Pugh, Alexander McQueen, Maison Martin Margiela and many others.
Bowery used sexuality as his primary mode of artistic expression. His work continues to be a treasure throve of inspiration for fashion designers up to the present day.

Through his outrageous costumes, dramatic masquerades, and theatrical cross-dressing, Bowery pushed the boundaries of fashion and the body.
Bowery significantly influenced numerous artists across various disciplines, including musicians like Boy George, Antony and the Johnsons, Lady Gaga, and Scissor Sisters. Bowery’s distinctive physiognomy with exaggerated red lips and other bold, sculptural references are all iconic Bowery looks. This influence is widely recognized within the fashion industry for its theatricality and vivid, avant-garde aesthetics directly channeling Bowery’s irreverent style and creativity.

For more on this kitch artist, read last week’s UoF blog, where we covered the Leigh Bowery! exhibition at the Tate Modern, which showcases his “Looks” and collaborations with other artists.
The 30 Mini Canvas – Night (left) and CHALET Tee – White (right)
After introducing the MIKI bag in four colourways, atelier MERANDI has quietly gained traction among those drawn to its precise forms and subtle detailing. Now, only a few months later, the emerging brand is preparing for its debut at Tranoï Paris this October — and with it, a second silhouette: the 30 Mini Canvas Bag.
If the MIKI laid the foundation; the 30 builds on it — not by shifting direction, but by expanding it. We caught up with MERANDI’s founders, Kate Socatiyanurak and Grace Tungpanitansook, to learn more about the meaning behind this new design, and what it signals for the brand’s evolution.
Let’s start with the 30. What kind of bag is it — and who is it for?
“It’s a bag designed with subtlety — for people who move quietly but with intention,” says one of the founders. “We imagined someone who doesn’t need their bag to be loud, but still wants it to say something. In a fast-moving conspicuous world, good subtle taste is rare. The 30 is soft yet structured in its design, refined but unforced. It’s the kind of piece you carry every day, and still come to like and appreciate different details of the bag.
What’s behind the name “30”?
For the name, we didn’t overthink it — both of us were born on the 30th, so it is a quiet nod to that. But beyond the number, it felt fitting for a design that’s rooted in utility. 30 (years) is kind of a threshold between youth and maturity. We are both at the age soon approaching that number as well. This bag holds that balance.
How does it differ from the MIKI?
The MIKI was architectural — compact, clean, more intentional. The 30 opens things up. Made in premium cotton canvas and grained leather, complemented with our signature V hidden in its stitching, it’s still quite architectural but softer and more fluid in shape. There’s also a wooden ball charm — which, although is quiet, it brings warmth to the bag, both in material and in movement as the ball swings gently while in use. However, we would like to stress again that this is not a decorative bag, it’s supposed to blend in with its surroundings. This doesn’t mean that every detail can’t have a meaning.

The MIKI Bag – Alpine Sky (left) and The 30 Mini Canvas – Day (right)
Isn’t it so soon to introduce a second design? As your brand is only three months old?
Not really, I mean there wasn’t any rush with designing anyway. We have developed this bag and been using it ourselves for a long time. We also want to quickly reinforce our point of view, so a second silhouette helps anchor the identity of the brand. It shows that MERANDI isn’t about this one certain shape — but a certain way of seeing, designing, and making. MERANDI stems from the Latin phrase, Modus Operandi after all — it means a particular way of doing something. That’s what we express, not necessarily a “fashion” fashion brand.
You’re already preparing for Tranoï Paris. How are you approaching that?
We see it as an introduction to MERANDI’s design language. Sometimes you don’t need labels — you don’t have to call it a bag, a brand, a fashion designer. MERANDI simply is, and we are who we are. Showing in Paris, our goal is to arrive with clarity. With the MIKI and the 30 side by side, together with a few foundational wardrobe staples, we can tell a fuller story and give more space to express our identity. Our signature V-mark runs through everything — from bags to ready-to-wear, like the neckline detail on the Villa Long Sleeve Top.
VILLA Long-Sleeve Top
What will people see at your booth?
We’re showing both silhouettes, the MIKI in our core AW25 colorways — Vanilla, Walnut, Alpine Sky, and Nori, and a preview of new Spring/Summer 2026 tones — alongside the 30 Day and Night Canvas Bag. The SS26 palette brings lighter hues and subtle shifts in materiality. The MIKI will also appear in unexpected fabrications that reveal a different side of its character but still true to its form. The booth, like us, will speak in quiet details.
What’s next for MERANDI after Paris?“
We’re exploring new shapes, refining innovative materials, and adjusting the details that most people might not notice — but we do. In a way, we’re in a rush and not in a rush at the same time. There’s urgency in our vision, but not in our pace. Years of founding and owning a business have taught us that you can’t let pressure affect your precision.

In the rapidly changing world of men’s fashion, Veja sneakers have proved themselves by combining cutting-edge innovation, excellent construction, and classic trends. In a relatively short period, this French sneaker brand has developed a cult following from everyday style lovers, athletes, and even celebrities alike. The one thing common to all their consumers is an appreciation for minimalist styling with ethical production which certainly is a refreshing angle. In 2025, the value and significance of Veja offer more than just a sneaker brand. Their values and impeccable craftsmanship suffice in showcasing the brand.
As “2025” approaches, consumer preferences continue to shift towards the demand of Veja sneakers. Men today are looking for more than just fashionable sneakers. They want brands that share their own values. The Story Behind Veja’s Success
The French brand forged purpose around three values: sustainability, transparency, and timeless styles. While many sneaker brands focused on fast fashion, Veja was focused on ethical sourcing in order to make sneakers that have social and environmental impacts that are minimal, developing supply chains by working directly with the small-scale farmers in Brazil to source organic cotton and Amazonian wild rubber. By dealing directly with farmers and eliminating intermediaries while investing back into sustainable and fair trade practices, Veja was able to design sneakers that bring together social conscience without sacrificing aesthetics. The authenticity of the brand speaks to the buyers of today and has helped Veja become one of the fastest growing luxury sneaker brands of 2025.
Veja and Celebrity Influence
One of the biggest reasons Veja reached mainstream popularity is due to celebrity endorsements. Over the years many, many A-listers, athletes and influencers have been seen rocking Veja’s. Hollywood stars such as Leonardo Dicaprio, Chris Evans and Jake Gyllenhaal are seen in minimalist silhouettes of V-10 and Campo. Whereas professional athletes are seen in Veja performance styles of Condor 3 and Venturi.
In 2025, Veja partnered with numerous notable designers and celebrities to produce limited-edition drops in unique colorways. The limited drops sell out in minutes, proving sustainability is not the only appeal of Veja, but it’s the luxury fashion statement.
Why Veja Sneakers Are a Smart Investment in 2025
With sneaker culture exploding across the globe, buying the right pair has gone from a stylistic choice, to an investment choice. Veja sneakers hold their value because of limited production runs, unique sustainable materials, and a growing list of luxury buyers.
Unlike fast-fashion footwear, Veja actually cares about the longevity and durability of their products. A well kept pair can last for years, thus taking away frequent replacement – this is what makes Veja one of the best sneaker brands for men in 2025 for anyone who appreciates high-quality construction, attention to detail, and timeless aesthetics.
Trending Veja Colorways for Men in 2025
Colour plays a huge part in sneaker fashion, and Veja continues to roll-out exciting palettes while retaining their classic tones. The most popular options for men in 2025 will include:
Off-White & Beige Combinations: Perfect for minimalist wardrobes.Earthy Greens & Olive Shades: Ideal for an outdoor adventure.Navy Accents: As an understated alternative to the black & white sneaker.Pastel Highlights: Summer drops in light blue, sage, and sand tones of the pastel type.Monochrome Black Editions: Timeless, versatile, and consistently on trend.
Whether you prefer bright accents, or quiet classics, the 2025 collection from Veja is promoting a variety of styles to reflect your personality.
Veja Sneaker Sizing & Fit Guide
A common question among customers is whether Veja sneakers fit true to size honestly. Overall most Veja sneakers, with the exception of the V-10, Campo, and Urca tend to be a little narrow and would probably be better suited for guys with thinner feet.
If you are uncertain between sizes, go up one full size to ensure comfort. For a wider foot, you could try the Venturi or Condor, which has a larger fit
Considering fashionable sneakers are made with all natural, organic components, they mold to your feet over time and become more comfortable through wear.
Knowing this sizing piece and what to look for if you are going to spend over $100 (or way more) on pairs of premium sneakers is crucial for you to understand that happy blend between satisfactory style and comfort.
Veja vs. Other Luxury Sneaker Brands
2025 style sneaker has a lot of competition right now with brands taking on the luxury sneaker category such as Common Projects, Axel Arigato, Golden Goose, with Veja amongst others. And yet it is a unique offering because in the luxury sneaker category, Veja wears its eco-friendly innovation on its sleeve, comes with a luxury design, and a very competitive price, at least in comparison to luxury.
For example, as Golden Goose works into its distressed look and Common Projects has embraced the look of premium Italian leather, Veja has incorporated sustainability at every step of their manufacturing process, which separates it from its competitors and simultaneously makes for a very wise long-term investment for men that want sneakers that keep fully in touch with fashion and ethics.
The Future of Veja: What to Expect Beyond 2025
Veja’s creativity won’t stop with the launch of the current collection. By 2026, the anticipation is very high that the brand plans to produce new performance-based technologies, like fully biodegradable sneakers, and advanced vegan options. Additionally, some collaborations with luxury houses and streetwear designers are in the works and could further establish Veja’s status as the leader in sustainable footwear.
For the men interested in putting down money for a sneaker today, Veja could present not only premium build quality, but also thinking years ahead with designs that will not become irrelevant in the next two years.
Sustainable Fashion Movement & Veja’s Role
The whole sneaker market is rapidly becoming more sustainable, and Veja has been pioneering this transition for over a decade in several ways. First, through organic cotton, and Amazonian wild rubber, and second through integrating recycled plastic bottles into its Alveomesh technology, Veja has been reducing the environmental footprint of its shoes while maintaining premium quality.
Veja supports local communities in Brazil rather than large marketing campaigns, so in many ways, they are reinvesting into ethical supply chains and product development. Choosing Veja in 2025 means you would be buying into the importance of people, planet, conscience, which is an easy win for the environmentally conscious buyer.
Why Veja Sneakers Are Trending in 2025
Overall looking at current demand for sustainable fashion on a worldwide scale.More designer collabs and endorsements by celebrities for shoes.More limited releases of futuristic colorways, or advanced materials/designs.A perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and sustainability.
Veja Sneaker Care & Maintenance Tips
To keep your Veja sneakers clean and looking nice for years:
Clean often: Use a soft damp cloth. Avoid using commercial detergents.Do not machine wash: Hand clean only, to ensure longevity of the material form.Store properly: Use a shoe tree, or stuff them with paper to maintain their shape.Apply protection spray: For high durability, apply sustainable, water-repellent spray.
Final Thoughts
As we come to a close on our ultimate guide to finding the best Veja sneakers for men in 2025, one thing is for sure – Veja is more than just a sneaker brand; it’s a lifestyle choice. In a world of fashion where trends can shift overnight and mass-produced styles dominate the market, Veja has carved out its own niche of prioritizing sustainability, quality, and timelessness. When investing in Veja, you are not just buying shoes – you are thinking critically, matching your style to your values, and enjoying a product of premium quality and innovation.
The sneaker industry has never been more competitive than it is in 2025; however, Veja remains to differentiate themselves and consistently produces shoes that fit the category of clean, versatile, and high quality so you will wear for years. Veja is also benefiting from a growing celebrity endorsement and collaborations with global designers, which has led to exclusivity and desirability. This illustrates how Veja has made themselves one of the most sought after luxury sneaker brands. The limited-edition releases and constant new colorways launched by VEJA throughout the year allows all locals to get in on the stylish new luxuries while great for investment, and to be ahead of the fashion curve planned for 2025.
The most unbeatable element? Veja sneakers are durable. Unlike sneakers from the mass market that lose their structure after only one season, Veja’s use of organic materials, bio-based fabrics and Amazonian rubber means they last and retain all of their comforts for years. Put simply, and provided you care for your Veja sneakers properly, they will maintain the same freshness and style for years — they are not just a disposable piece of footwear but a true investment! So, if you are refreshing your sneaker rotation or are buying your first pair, there isn’t a better time than now to come into the Veja fold. They are more than just a sneaker – they are an indication of what you value – a contribution to style, comfort and conscious living that puts you decades ahead of really what is a still-emerging trend.
The removal of ‘de minimis’: Changes to the PS Shop for US readers

As most of you will be aware, the current US government has been changing tariffs and duties in recent months. As some US customers will probably be aware, a new change comes in today – the end of the ‘de minimis’ rule.
Under that rule, US consumers paid no duties on anything coming into the country that was valued under $800. If the foreign company was small enough, they also paid no sales tax. It was a pretty good deal.
Unfortunately that is now ending from August 29, and on the PS Shop we have decided to start shipping DDP (‘delivery duty paid’) as a result, plus show prices in dollars for extra clarity.
This means that US readers will see the final price on the PS Shop when they buy, including all duties and taxes, and the purchase will go straight to them, rather than them having to pay duties to customs separately.
We resisted DDP for a while, because it often worked out as more expensive, and because it seemed less transparent. But we’ve decided to make the change for two reasons:
Customs charges will affect far more PS readers than before, because they will apply to purchases under $800 as well as those above, and There are likely to be delays as US customs gets up to speed with this huge influx of new charges; DDP minimises those delays
There are greater expenses with using this system, apart from the actual duties. Sorting them out on our end after the package has been delivered can create unknown charges. Currently it’s also impossible to recover duties when customers return items, so we will lose money on those. But then, it was hard for customers to recover duties themselves before, so it will be easier for you.
Overall, these new US taxes will make things more expensive, but hopefully the DDP changes and the dollar currency will make the process smoother. We’ve also made sure to spell out those duties at the checkout stage, so you can see the product price and the duties separately.
Importantly the courier we use, UPS, is continuing to ship as normal, so while there might be some initial delays as customs adjust, there will be no interruption to shipping.
How much will the duties add? Well, purchases under $800 will now have:
Regular duties on top, which have always applied above $800. These vary with the type of product (eg cotton is treated differently to wool) but range from 7% to 18%. Plus the new 10% tariff the US government imposed on everything coming from the UK. This is less than the 15% on things coming from the EU, and much less than those coming from China or India, but still it’s another tax.
Note that US readers buying things like coats have always paid number 1, as those are over $800, and 2 has already applied since April. So for those making more expensive purchases nothing changes, except that the process will be smoother and the price will be in dollars.
Since the PS Shop started, my aim has always been to offer high-quality products that I didn’t think you could get elsewhere, carefully thought through and made, and transparency about pricing, costs and value.
This doesn’t mean ‘cutting out the middle man’ and placing no value on service or design and service, at one end of the spectrum. But it also doesn’t mean charging big-brand prices with no connection to quality and craftsmanship. PS has always tried to plough its own furrow.
Hopefully these changes reflect that particular approach. I also hope it goes without saying that we hugely value our US readers, who have always been big supporters of the heritage manufacturing we cover as well as making use of in the shop.
PS products have always been great value. I think they will continue to be so, but thank you in advance for paying these extra duties if you do, and so continuing to keep us going.

Bags express more than mere accessories — they are timeless emblems of authority, distinction, and individuality. The language of fashion can often be one of telling a story through a bag, and sometimes that bag’s story is inspired by the extraordinary lives of famous women who have gone on to redefine style and elegance through the generations. From Hollywood starlets to British royalty and from contemporary supermodels to power icons, some of the most highly sought-after luxury handbags have been named after some remarkable women in history.
They sell far and above the missed meaning due to mere design; they retell contemporary fashion history, yet crystallizing the persona, charisma, and cultural clout of the women who served as their muses. When one grabs an Hermès Birkin, Lady Dior, or Gucci Jackie handbag, one is not just paying for a luxury commodity; they are paying to be associated with the glamour that comes with some prestige and history in world fashion.
This blog takes you through 15 famous bags bearing names borrowed from famous persons and references to their history. From the noble grace of Princess Diana to the easy, relaxed confidence of Jackie Kennedy, these bags stand for a somewhat ambiguous stylistic blend of self-expression and time-tested art. Whether you are a collector, a fashionista, or just plain old admirer of the icons which are the inspiration for the creations, this guide is your ultimate source of inspiration for handbags that have influenced luxury fashion permanently.
1. Hermès Birkin Bag – Jane Birkin
The Hermès Birkin is the king when it comes to luxury handbags. Taking its name from the name of British-French actress and singer, Jane Birkin, her story began on a plane in 1984, when she encountered the CEO Hermès on a flight. She was complaining that there were no chic bags that were practical enough, not knowing she was inspiring what would end up being every bag lover’s dream.
Given its enormous size, timeless craftsmanship, and elite exclusivity, the Birkin bag was an instant classic. It went off as a worldwide symbol of sheer wealth and status; auctions starting at $12,000 breaking through to the half-million gross mark.
Fascinating detail: The Birkins are so special that oftentimes there is a multiple-year wait list, making it something that both brands and collectors are craving for.
2. Hermès Kelly Bag – Grace Kelly
Another classic piece birthed by Hermès, the Kelly bag, was named after Princess Grace of Monaco. The Kelly bag? Yeah, that one. Hermès dropped it back in the ’30s under the name “Sac à dépêches.” Nobody really cared much outside of France until Grace Kelly, actual royalty and all-around icon, used it as a makeshift baby bump shield in ’56 to dodge the paparazzi. Hermès was so impressed, they put her name on it, and boom— Kelly was officially legendary. These days, it’s still the holy grail for bag collectors. Structured, fancy leather, flawless stitching— honestly, it’s the kind of bag you’d probably call highly collectible.
So, why’s everyone obsessed? Kelly just oozes this “keep it classy” vibe. It’s all about quiet luxury, not screaming for attention. Like, if bags had personalities, this one would definitely sip champagne.
3. Lady Dior Bag – Princess Diana
When it comes to luxury handbags named after famous women, the Lady Dior has an unique position within the luxury handbag scene. It was gifted to Princess Diana by France’s First Lady, Bernadette Chirac, in 1995 and became one of Diana’s favorite bags. Diana was frequently photographed with the bag and Dior ended up naming the bag after her.
With the signature cannage quilting and charm letters, the Lady Dior embodies grace and femininity. The bag continues to be one of Dior’s most iconic bags and comes in the most variations, months after months, and year after year, and for centuries.
Style Tip: The mini Lady Dior with traditional monochromatic ensembles is the perfect way to achieve Diana’s effortless elegance.
4. Gucci Jackie Bag – Jackie Kennedy
One of the most iconic luxury handbags of all time, the Gucci Jackie is named after the quintessential style icon, Jackie Kennedy Onassis; it was the 1970s and she was constantly carrying the bag in its original hobo style for all her millions of paparazzi photos creating instant icon status for the handbag. Gucci later relaunched the Jackie in updated versions keeping the unique piston-lock closure while redesigning the bag for new generations. Today, celebrities are still enjoying the Jackie Kennedy or Jackie bag including the likes of Harry Styles and Rihanna, displaying how timeless this bag is that it carries its classic style for generations.
Pro Tip: Wearing the Gucci Jackie with a tailored blazer and oversized sunglasses will take your style to the next level recreating Jackie O’s style.
5. Salvatore Ferragamo Sofia Bag – Sofia Loren
The brand is named after beloved Italian legend Sofia Loren, Salvatore Ferragamo’s classic bag with contemporary touches. The structured shape of the bag, signature Gancini clasp, and master artisanry give the bag a sense of Ferragamo’s high-end heritage. Sofia Loren was a longtime muse of Ferragamo and having a bag named after her recognized her stature and influence on the fashion universe. And if you like a straightforward yet high-end daily handbag, the Sofia is the perfect option.
6. Chloé Drew Bag – Drew Barrymore
The Chloé Drew is perhaps the brand’s most classic piece, inspired by the carefree and ridiculously stylish Drew Barrymore. With its saddle-shaped pocket, gold hardware, and crossbody-wearability, it was an instant hit with starlets and style bloggers everywhere.
The Drew came out in 2014 and was the immediate classic of modern luxury enthusiasts, but remains to enchant minimalists and sophisticated playfulness fans.
7. Givenchy Antigona Bag – Antigone of Greek Mythology (Inspired by Modern Icons)
While not specifically named after a living celebrity, the Givenchy Antigona does take its name from Antigone, who is known as a powerful and beautiful woman from Greek lore (Thea) but the bag’s mainstream success is attributed to many popular women, like the likes of Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, helped make this modern classic an absolute “street style staple”.
Given its structure and clean lines, the Givenchy Antigona can be noted as one of the brands best-selling luxury handbags, making it a favorite of “power dresses” or stars of fashion everywhere.
8. Mulberry Alexa Bag – Alexa Chung
Switching gears: the Mulberry Alexa. Mulberry went all-in on British cool and named this one after Alexa Chung, queen of effortless style. Came out in 2010, and it’s basically the fashion version of having your cake and eating it too— kind of slouchy, kind of polished, works with jeans or a power suit. No wonder millennials lost their minds over it. Influencers and celebs were basically glued to it for years. Mulberry even brought it back for an encore because, apparently, nobody was ready to move on. Alexa (the person, not the Amazon robot) still has that kind of pull.
9. Fendi Baguette Bag – Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw)
And then, the Fendi Baguette. Sure, it wasn’t technically named after anyone, but let’s be real, Sex and the City made it a star. Carrie Bradshaw (aka Sarah Jessica Parker) grabbed hers and declared, “It’s not a bag, it’s a Baguette!”— which is probably the most extra thing anyone’s ever said about a purse, but hey, it worked. From that moment on, the Baguette wasn’t just a bag. It was pop culture. You couldn’t swing a tiny shoulder strap in Manhattan without hitting one. Icon status: unlocked.
The petite and elegant shape was a defining fashion statement of the Y2K generation, and remains one of Fendi’s most iconic handbags today. In fact, celebrities and luxury aficionados still adore the possibility of what a Baguette suggests and the classic luxury collectible that it has become.
10. Prada Galleria Bag – Inspired by Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
Although not an officially named homage to a famous woman; the Prada Galleria has a similar relationship. Let’s be real— the Prada Galleria is basically the epitome of classic handbags. You’ve seen it hanging off the arms of Gigi Hadid, Miranda Kerr, and even Taylor Swift, all strutting around with it. Paparazzi shots? Street style? That bag’s everywhere.
So, Prada dropped the Galleria as this super structured tote back in 2007, and honestly, it’s kind of the poster child for “less is more” vibes. It just screams quiet luxury, but in that cool, Italian way— like it’s not even trying, but it’s still winning. How to Spot a Fake Luxury Handbag
There are fake luxury bags now that are more convincing than ever so it’s important to know how to know if you are buying an authentic bag:
Stitching Quality → Luxury brands use perfect stitching that are even, with not loose threads.Logo & Engraving → Fake bags often have incorrect font, or spacing errors.Hardware → Real bags will use metals that are high in quality and weight; not plastic-coated hardware.Serial Numbers & Date Codes → Some brands like Hermès, Dior, and Gucci have their own authenticity codes/uniqueness.Ask for the Original Packaging & Certificates → Always ask for dust bags, receipts, and certificates of authenticity.
Pro tip: Always have the bag authenticated when you have doubt, use certification services like Entrupy or AuthenticateFirst.
Care Tips for Luxury Handbags
Owning an iconic handbag is one step, but making sure you keep it looking beautiful and retain its worth is the other.
a) Proper Storage
When storing your handbag, always make sure to use a dust bag and to store it somewhere cool and dry.To help maintain its shape, use a bag shaper or bubble wrap.Avoid storing multiple bags on top, as this may distort the shape.
b) Regular Cleaning
After every use, use a soft microfiber cloth to wipe the bag down.If you have leather bags, you will want to use a luxury leather conditioner about every few months.
c) Avoid Overstuffing
Overstuffing your handbags will warp the shape and damage the delicateness of the stitching that makes it so beautiful.
d) Protect from Moisture & Sunlight
Avoid exposing your bags to moisture and sunlight, which can lead to discolouration and mold.
e) Professional Maintenance
Bring your handbag to brand authorized service centres for deep cleanings and restorations every 12-18 months.
Why Investing in These Handbags Makes Sense
Unlike (almost) any other fashion piece, luxury handbags – especially, iconic designs named after famous women – hold their value and even increase over time.
Limited availability and heritage craftsmanship makes them collectible assets.Bags like the Hermès Birkin and Kelly have outperformed gold in resale value appreciation in the last decade. For fashion lovers, these handbags are not just accessories – they are a part of a legacy, a part of you.
Iconic Luxury Handbags Price Ranges
When it comes to luxury handbags that are named after notable women, the price point can significantly vary based on brand, material, rarity, and exclusiveness. Some of these designs have become true luxury status pieces and a few are really worth as much as a luxury car or small apartment.
So starting off with the Hermès Birkin inspired by Jane Birkin – this creation is one of the most expensive handbags in the world. These bags typically start at about $12,000 (₹10,00,000) for basic leather versions, but the rare editions made of exotic skin and precious metals can easily exceed $500,000 (₹4 crore) – a true collector’s item.
The same goes for the Hermès Kelly named after Grace Kelly. The Kelly costs about $9,000 (₹7,50,000) to start and special editions can be up to $300,000 (₹2.5 crore) or more based on size, color and material.
If you want elegance at lower price points you may want to consider the Lady Dior named after Princess Diana. Designer handbags: the ultimate status symbol, or just really expensive arm candy? Either way, if you’re looking for that Lady Dior, brace yourself— it’ll cost you the price of a small car. We’re talking $5,000 (₹4,15,000), and the limited edition ones you can get for an extra $10k (₹8,30,000). Now, the Gucci Jackie— it’s got that old-school Jackie Kennedy glam. Starts at $3,000 (₹2,50,000), but blink and you’re at $6,000 (₹5,00,000) for the top-tier stuff.
The Mulberry Alexa, though? Honestly, it’s the “bargain” of the bunch. For $1,500 (₹1,25,000), you can get a classic handbag at an affordable price until you spot the $2,500 (₹2,10,000) version and get tempted. Craving a little rockstar edge? The Saint Laurent Kate is all Kate Moss swagger, $2,500 (₹2,10,000) to start, but it’ll happily climb up to $4,000 (₹3,30,000) if you want the shiny stuff.
The Chloé Drew— named for Drew Barrymore, because why not— channels that playful Parisian vibe, and will set you back $1,600 to $2,200 (₹1,30,000–₹1,80,000). Want to keep up with the It-girls? The Givenchy Antigona is everywhere, starting at $2,300 (₹1,90,000) and hitting $3,800 (₹3,20,000).
Then there’s the Salvatore Ferragamo Sofia, a little Italian film goddess energy between $2,000 (₹1,65,000) and $3,000 (₹2,50,000). Or maybe you want to channel old-money Americana with the Ralph Lauren Ricky— $3,500 (₹2,90,000) baseline, but if you want that ultra-rare, custom flex, you’ll have to spend $5,000+ (₹4,15,000).
Tip: If you want to spend a lot of money and are looking for an investment as well, might as well go for the holy grail: Hermès Birkin, Hermès Kelly, or Lady Dior. These bags are the epitome of handbags— totally iconic, always in style, and honestly, a good investment. Not only do the classic handbags hold their value, but they also appreciate over time, making them an identical asset on the fashion arena and in portfolio valuation.
The Cultural Impact and Legacy of Luxury Handbags Named After Famous Women
In high fashion, luxury handbags hold cultural significance as representation of influence, identity, and aspiration – they are more than whimsical pieces of fabric. If a handbag is named for an iconic woman, it defines not only the look; it is her personality, history, and heritage – ending up with everlasting value. It is because of this that purses like the Hermès Birkin, the Lady Dior Purse, and the Gucci Jackie are forever masterpieces. It is based on key moments in history when fashion and culture collided.
The Hermès Birkin purse stands on its own as a great handbag with great quality, and it also is part of Jane Birkin’s effortless Parisian way and the role she played in redefining modern style. The Lady Dior, which will always be attached to Princess Diana, is also about so much more than just the bag itself. For so many it became a symbol of elegance, caring, and global admiration. Each new edition of that bag brought the world back to consider her legacy to fashion and humanitarian efforts.
Both the Hermès Birkin and the Lady Dior share common threads with other iconic accessories and successful associations with powerful women, and show how personal style and identity can inspire product and motion. Jackie Kennedy, with her impeccable polished effortlessness, turned the Gucci Jackie purse into a powerful international representation of understated chic. In contrast, Alexa Chung was able to display the cool, British laid-back aesthetic of her style, of global appeal, and Mulberry created the Alexa bag. She was a representation of the buoyancy, modern, fresh, and youthful persona of contemporary luxury.
In summary, we are trying to understand that these bags are not just luxury fashion’s signalling tropes; rather they serve as heritage heirlooms. They are acquired through reading, ambassadorship, interest or enthusiasm, while we may be drawn to a purse for its physical merits itself and exclusivity, we see it, remind us, and use it again as a way of thinking about this woman that had a commodifying influence on everything from standards of beauty to feminine power, interest, and style.
Final Thoughts
In the fast-paced, always-changing world of fashion, trends become obsolete yearly if not sooner. But luxury handbags named after famous women will always be relevant. Each of these classic bag models, such as the Hermès Birkin, Hermès Kelly and Lady Dior, not to mention the Gucci Jackie, every one of them all carries a story beyond a trend, tells about the legacy of women who influenced fashion around the world, established their status and helped shape the global style. These women did so much more than wear attractive, status driven dresses. The value of these unique handbags is the undeniable connection that a famous woman has to a specific handbag, or a collection of handbags. They’re not merely handbags but cultural pieces, aspiration pieces, and pieces that can, at some point, be thought of as an investment. When you own and carry one of these iconic bags, you aren’t only showcasing unrivaled craftsmanship and a source of expensive materials, you’re emoting something from another time and place. You’re also carrying a symbol of a very special woman, and what she stood for as a unique individual.
For those who enjoy collecting, accruing status and luxury handbag aficionados, possession of one of these luxury handbags is not merely a status symbol but a moment, anecdote and identity.
As we enter the age of personal style and exclusivity more than ever before, these celebrity-inspiring luxury handbags will remain timeless declarations of artistry, innovation, and empowerment.
If you’re considering investing in a handbag that blends legacy, luxury, and prestige, these designs are not just purchases — they are heirlooms. Their enduring charm ensures that, decades from now, they will still be celebrated as icons of fashion and elegance.

Why Patek Philippe Watches Are Excellent Investments

Heritage & Brand Equity: Founded in 1839, Patek Philippe represents nearly two centuries of horological excellence. Their motto, “You never actually own a Patek Philippe. You merely look after it for the next generation,” reflects the brand’s generational appeal.
Market Performance: From 2015 to 2025, Patek Philippe sports models have appreciated at annual rates of 10-15%, while Grand Complications have shown 6-12% annual growth, often outperforming traditional equities.
