Weekly NFT Sales Volume Jumps 94% Amid Cryptocurrency Gains – Cryptoflies News

17

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) recorded a weekly sales volume of $181 million, driven largely by gains in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Data from CryptoSlam on November 17 revealed a 94% increase in weekly sales compared to the previous week, which stood at approximately $93 million.

Ethereum NFTs led the charts with over $70 million in sales, followed by Bitcoin with more than $60 million. Other blockchains, including Solana, Mythos, Immutable, and Polygon, collectively contributed around $45 million.

Prominent collections driving the surge included Pudgy Penguins, Milady Maker, CryptoPunks, Azuki, and Guild of Guardians Heroes.

Among significant sales, a Bitcoin-based Ordinal Maxi Biz (OMB) sold for 1.6448 BTC, valued at over $149,000. Additionally, three CryptoPunks — #1522, #189, and #7502 — sold for $143,395, $121,182, and $120,729, respectively.

In the last 24 hours, NFT sales volume rose another 3.5% compared to the previous day.

These gains offer some optimism for the NFT sector, which has faced significant challenges over the past two years. In June, NFT sales saw a 46% decline, following a 50% drop in May.

The prolonged downturn is related to regulatory uncertainty. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has targeted several NFT platforms and creators, viewing some NFTs as securities.

In August, OpenSea received a Wells notice from the SEC, alleging that certain NFTs on its platform qualify as unregistered securities. Last year, Impact Theory paid a $6.1 million penalty for similar charges, and the creators of Stoner Cats NFTs were fined $1 million.

Meanwhile, groups advocating for blockchain technologies are pushing for clearer regulations. The Digital Chamber, a U.S.-based blockchain advocacy organization, recently called on Congress to classify specific NFTs as consumer goods rather than securities.

Fashion in Flux: The Industry’s Return to Timeless Classics Amid Economic Headwinds

In March, LUXUO explored how the fashion industry was being reshaped by the exit of long-standing creative directors, an impending economic downturn, and declining sales pushing brands to diversify their offerings. As we move through the year, these shifts continue, with major shake-ups defining the landscape: Hedi Slimane’s departure from Celine, Kim Jones leaving Fendi, Sarah Burton’s move from Alexander McQueen to Givenchy, Alessandro Michele’s transition to Valentino, and Haider Ackermann succeeding Peter Hawkings at Tom Ford after just one year. Perhaps the most surprising change came with Virginie Viard’s sudden exit from Chanel in June, followed by rumours of Marc Jacobs eyeing the coveted role and the opportunity to redefine the brand’s iconic legacy. Amidst these upheavals, LUXUO also noted how the struggle to maintain profitability has increasingly centered on the beauty industry. Now, lets turn our focus to fashion brands looking inward, reassessing and refining their own core offerings to navigate this period of uncertainty. This season’s product launches highlight a shift in focus, as brands hope their timeless designs will resonate and withstand the economic storm.

New Bags, Classic Motifs

At Dior, the maxicanage motif adorns a series of exquisite leather goods in black or beige-grained leather. The maxicanage is a new iteration of the carnage motif which has long been a symbol of the Dior allure, inspired by the light-colored cane embellishing the Napoleon III chairs in the Maison’s haute couture salons. For the Dior winter 2024/2025 men’s collections, Kim Jones presents the maxicanage on classic Dior creations such as the saddle twin and weekender.

Similarly at Gucci, one can see the evolution of the GG Marmont silhouette for the label’s fall/winter ‘2024 collection. The revisiting of the brand’s interlocking GG monogram emblem rekindles the brand’s legacy in consumers’ minds and is a nod to past grandeur in times that call for strategic restraint. In the early 1970s, Gucci created a new rounded iteration of its logo, the Gucci Blondie which was then resurrected by Sabato De Sarno and took center stage at the Gucci Cruise 2025 show.

Touch of Tradition

In the fashion industry, the term “contemporary” has become synonymous with innovation. But perhaps, more than anything, it speaks to the art of reinvention. There is something profound in taking a traditional garment, silhouette, or technique, and breathing new life into it, often through a modern lens. At Tod’s the Tod’s T Vintage was inspired by sneaker designs of the 80s and 90s combined with the signature Tod’s Gommini pebble rubber sole sewn to the wedge and the Tod’s logo is hot stamped on the shoe.

Alexander McQueen revisited Scottish Tartan, a textile used by the late Alexander McQueen himself including the controversial autumn/winter 1995–96 Highland Rape collection. For 2024, Seán McGirr revisited this element of his Maison’s heritage and this time showcased distressed finishes and raw edge details that embody the rebellious spirit of this label’s namesake. Paired with bold statement sling bags, each piece reflected McQueen’s unique ability to blend tradition with an avant-garde twist. Tod’s — with its legacy of elevating sneakers to a symbol of refined craftsmanship, and Alexander McQueen — with its bold reimagining of Scottish tartan, demonstrate how fashion houses are revisiting their iconic signatures to push the boundaries of tradition, bringing timeless elements into a modern context and presenting something fresh to the forefront.

Eye on Accessories

A return to house classics and staples is one thing, but beyond beloved emblems and cherished motifs, maisons also rely on the use of intricate techniques and exceptional craftsmanship. This season saw LOEWE showcase their leather savoir-faire and extraordinary caviar beading. Inspired by antique tapestries and Chelsea porcelain, the Squeeze bag becomes a work of art, featuring songbirds, a beloved dog, exuberant florals, and botanicals, with more than 20,000 beads hand-applied in layers using the ‘Aari’ technique to create a stunning 3D effect. A floral bouquet also adorns the Campo biker boot; each pair requires 360 hours of beading by 12 artisans. The same technique is applied to Toy pumps, a beaded oblong pouch, and a series of beaded charms, including asparagus stalks, a radish, cabbage leaf, and ladybird.

For Winter 2024, Bottega Veneta’s signature bags have been reimagined with “Silky Calf Leather,” a strikingly thin and soft material that mimics the touch and sheen of silk fabric. The Andiamo bag is constructed for the first time in this luxurious leather, incorporating the Maison’s signature intrecciato pocket detail. The sculptural brass knot both adorns and fastens the bag’s braided straps, allowing the Andiamo to be worn across the body or over the shoulder. Meanwhile, the “Hop” bag steps away from the traditional intrecciato craftsmanship to celebrate the supple, geometric silhouette of the leather. Framed with leather trimmings, the Hop maintains its structure while embracing its triangular form, designed to be admired from all angles. Each piece is meticulously crafted by a single artisan over two days, ensuring both precision and artistry.

By revisiting and refining their iconic motifs, techniques, and craftsmanship, brands are forging a path forward—one where heritage meets the demands of the present. Amid this transitional period, fashion is evolving beyond mere survival, embracing adaptation with innovation and vision to redefine signature element that endure.

Lego Star Wars UCS Black Friday Deal – Luke’s Landspeeder Is Steeply Discounted

One of the best Star Wars Lego vehicle model kits is on sale for a stellar price at Amazon and Walmart. Luke Skywalker’s iconic Landspeeder X-34 is discounted to $175 in the retailers’ early Black Friday 2024 sales. This 1,890-piece model kit is part of Lego’s Ultimate Collector Series, which is a subset of Star Wars Lego sets with more intricate and realistic designs. Ultimate Collector Series Star Wars Lego sets aren’t discounted often, so this deal, which slashes $65 from its $240 list price, isn’t likely to remain in stock for long.

Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder – Lego Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series

$175 ($240)

Lego XR-34 Landspeeder

Gallery

This highly detailed model of Luke’s ground-based vehicle measure 19 inches long once fully assembled. While George Lucas and his film crew needed reflective material, gelatin on the camera lens, and shadow effects to create the illusion that the landspeeder was hovering, you’ll be able to achieve the same effect with a display stand. It also comes with a plaque with key details about the Landspeeder and two Star Wars minifigures: Luke Skywalker (naturally) and C-3PO. They can stand next to the plaque or sit in the cockpit.

Since the Landspeeder is in the Ultimate Collector Series, there’s a level of detail here not found on most Star Wars Lego sets. Custom-molded parts give it a distinct look, even just at first glance. There are lots of small flourishes, too, including a very tiny dashboard display with actual information on it, an accurate windscreen, and turbines that look just about as real as possible when made out of plastic. And yes, just like in the movie, one of the port turbines doesn’t have a cover, exposing an intricate web of wiring.

The Landspeeder, and Ultimate Collector Series Star Wars builds in general, are more involved than many other Lego sets. But if you’ve built your fair share of Lego sets and love Star Wars, there’s a good chance you’ll really enjoy piecing together this stunning recreation of the best ground-based vehicle on Tatooine.

The Future of Governance Tokens: $USUAL’s Balanced Approach to Growth

The Future of Governance Tokens: $USUAL’s Balanced Approach to Growth

$USUAL: Where Yield and Governance Converge for a New Era of Tokenomics

USUAL introduces a refreshing take on governance tokens, bridging the often-uneven balance between yield generation and ecosystem growth. Backed by real cash flow and community-centric distribution, it offers users a dual benefit that many governance tokens fail to provide—steady returns and long-term value.

USUAL positions itself uniquely as both a governance and utility token with features designed to grow alongside the protocol. It’s not merely a governance token in title; USUAL grants holders access to 100% of the protocol’s revenue, grounding it in real cash flows. Unlike tokens that rely solely on speculation or short-term incentives, USUAL aligns its incentives with protocol revenue, making it a dynamic and valuable long-term asset.

Source: Usual

Scarcity is an essential component of USUAL’s appeal. As deposits in the protocol increase, USUAL’s emission rate decreases. This disinflationary issuance means the token supply doesn’t dilute over time, but rather grows in tandem with Total Value Locked (TVL). As a result, each token’s value scales with protocol growth, creating a stable foundation for holders.

USUAL’s distribution model ensures that the community remains the primary beneficiary of the protocol’s success. Ninety percent of USUAL tokens are allocated to the community, with just 10% going to team members and early investors. This allocation protects users from excessive insider influence, creating a fairer, more equitable structure that promotes sustained participation and ecosystem trust.

USUAL’s utility extends beyond governance through its staking feature, where holders can activate governance rights and earn a portion of newly issued USUAL tokens. Staking incentives, along with a gauge mechanism that helps optimize liquidity distribution, encourage holders to engage actively with the protocol, bolstering long-term stability.

usual utility

Source: Usual

In Q1 2025, USUAL will enable a new feature, allowing users to burn a portion of their tokens to unlock staked USD0 (USD0++), enhancing liquidity and flexibility for stakers. This option expands USUAL’s utility while balancing supply and demand dynamics within the protocol.

USUAL’s design addresses the shortcomings common in most governance tokens. Unlike many tokens that mimic existing models, USUAL’s value directly correlates with protocol revenue growth. Its issuance model is carefully calibrated to maintain inflation rates below revenue growth, linking token value to tangible cash flows. This structure allows for meaningful, sustained value for those invested in the protocol’s long-term vision.

The $USUAL emission model is particularly strategic, designed to control token issuance based on TVL growth and interest rates of assets backing USD0. This structure minimizes inflation, protecting early adopters from dilution while preserving value for long-term holders. By capping emissions and adjusting issuance rates based on TVL growth, USUAL maintains intrinsic value, ensuring that each token represents a growing portion of the protocol’s revenue.

This model ultimately benefits users who contribute to protocol growth and underscores USUAL’s commitment to fair value distribution. Emission is kept significantly below treasury growth, preventing excessive inflation and aligning incentives within the ecosystem.

USUAL’s governance model empowers holders with control over treasury and collateral management, setting it apart from many governance tokens that offer limited utility beyond token holding. Through staking, USUAL holders influence key financial decisions, ensuring that treasury management aligns with the community’s vision. This level of transparency and control fosters a sense of ownership and long-term commitment among users.

The protocol’s roadmap includes expanded utility, with future implementations offering holders greater access to earnings per token. As TVL increases, the token value naturally scales upward, directly correlating with the protocol’s financial success. The USUAL model is designed to attract long-term participants, encouraging sustainable growth rather than incentivizing short-term gains.

USUAL’s tokenomics model reflects a sustainable approach, where token supply growth is tied to ecosystem expansion. This prevents excessive inflation and ensures a balanced distribution of rewards to those driving the protocol’s success. By aligning governance and utility features, USUAL’s framework supports a stable ecosystem for growth and collaboration.

With USUAL, holders gain an opportunity to participate in a governance model that rewards commitment to protocol growth and provides tangible, sustained value. It’s a community-focused model that prioritizes users over insiders, setting a new standard for governance tokens.

Automate Anything on Your PC for Free with Local LLMs and Open-Source

Automation is now within everyone’s reach. From summarizing emails and generating insights to handling data and automating repetitive tasks, some tools let you run these processes directly on your PC without writing a single line of code. Leveraging local large language models (LLMs) alongside free, open-source, no-code tools, you can build powerful automation while keeping your data private and secure. This guide covers everything you need to know to get started.

The Shift Toward Local Automation

Over the past year, open-source AI models have greatly improved, allowing users to run capable models locally without relying on cloud-based solutions. Running tasks locally not only keeps your data private but also removes the need to send data to third-party servers. Previously, cloud-based automations were popular, but with privacy concerns and the evolution of local models, many are revisiting these processes to bring them in-house. While local models may not yet match the complexity of advanced models like GPT-4, they can handle most basic automation tasks, including summarization, extraction, and classification.

Key Tools for Local Automation

Setting up local automation requires just two main tools:

n8n – A free, open-source workflow automation tool similar to Zapier and Make.com.

LM Studio – A platform to run LLMs locally, allowing you to harness AI on your PC.

Using these tools together, you can build automated workflows and manage information in a streamlined way, whether it’s organizing emails, creating structured datasets, or even summarizing text.

Getting Started with n8n for Workflow Automation

n8n enables you to design workflows that automate tasks between apps and services, similar to what you might do with Zapier. However, n8n runs locally on your system, giving you control over your data. Here’s how to get started:

Install Node.js: First, download and install Node.js from its official website. This will provide the environment necessary to run n8n.

Set Up n8n: Open the terminal (or Command Prompt on Windows), and type in npx n8n to download and install n8n.

Access n8n Dashboard: Once installed, go to http://localhost:5678 in your browser. This is your n8n dashboard, where you’ll create and 1manage workflows.

Running Local LLMs Using LM Studio

LLMs enable your PC to understand and generate text based on prompts, making them incredibly useful for various tasks. LM Studio simplifies the process of running these models locally without needing extensive technical knowledge.

Choosing the Right Model

There are two recommended models for local automation:

Phi-2: This small, efficient model is ideal for older or less powerful PCs and laptops.

Mistral-7B: A more powerful model suited for gaming PCs or workstations, providing better consistency.

When choosing a model, you’ll encounter different quantization levels like Q4 and Q8. Quantization reduces model size by simplifying the data, making it easier to run on limited hardware. Here’s a general guide to help you choose:

ModelQuantizationRecommended Hardware

Phi-2Q4_K_MOld PC/Laptop

Phi-2Q8Regular PC/Laptop

Mistral-7BQ4_K_MGaming PC

Mistral-7BQ8High-End Gaming PC/Workstation

Running and Testing Models in LM Studio

After choosing your model, download it from LM Studio. The model will appear on the dashboard once loaded, and you can test it by chatting directly with it. To activate the automation capabilities, go to the Server tab in LM Studio and select Start Server.

Building Your First Automation with n8n and LM Studio

With both tools ready, you’re set to build a basic automation. In this example, let’s automate email summarization to provide a neat overview of your inbox, which can be especially helpful for prioritizing responses and managing tasks.

Creating an Email Summarization Workflow

Open n8n Dashboard: Navigate to http://localhost:5678 and create a new workflow.

Import Workflow File: If you’re using a pre-built email summarizer workflow, simply import it into n8n by selecting Import from File at the top right.

Set Email Information: Input the details of your email provider. This information can usually be found within your email client settings.

Configure CSV File Storage: Specify a location and file name for the output CSV file. This is where your summarized email data will be saved.

Once configured, the workflow will pull in emails, summarize the content, and store it in a CSV file that you can access and organize as needed.

Expanding Automation to Other Use Cases

Beyond email summarization, n8n and LM Studio allow for an impressive range of automation possibilities. Here are a few ideas:

Batch Processing CSV Data

Suppose you have a CSV file with product descriptions, pricing, or user information. You can set up n8n to process each row and prompt the language model to generate or extract information based on specific columns. For example:

Generate Product Descriptions: Use column data to create catchy product descriptions that include features or target audiences.

Extract Information: Pull specific names, dates, or details from a column and insert them into your desired format.

Batch processing enables you to perform time-intensive tasks quickly, which can be a game-changer for tasks that would otherwise require hours of manual work.

Setting Up Prompts and Outputs for Different Tasks

In n8n’s Set Prompt and Model Settings node, you can customize prompts and outputs to align with your task goals. For example, you might set up a prompt that asks the model to extract a key name or date from a text passage, format it as JSON, and store it in a way that’s easy to filter and analyze later. This customization lets you adapt workflows for countless applications.

Practical Tips for Using n8n and LM Studio Together

Start Simple: Begin with basic workflows to familiarize yourself with the n8n and LM Studio interface.

Use Quantization for Efficiency: If your PC struggles to run certain models, try using a lower quantization level to optimize performance.

Test and Adjust Models: Experiment with different model settings to find the optimal balance between quality and speed for your tasks.

Debug with ChatGPT: If you encounter setup issues, ChatGPT or other AI tools can assist with debugging and code snippets, especially since n8n uses JavaScript.

Conclusion

With the power of n8n and LM Studio, you can transform your PC into an automation powerhouse. From organizing emails to batch-processing data and generating descriptions, these tools allow you to create custom workflows while keeping your data private. While there’s a learning curve, starting with simpler tasks and expanding gradually can make automation accessible and rewarding. The best part? You can accomplish all of this without needing to be a programming expert.

Phaedra Parks is weighing in on whether the ‘Real Housewives’ franchise should expand to welcome a MAGA-inspired cast … observing it’d likely make for interesting, albeit “dangerous,” TV.

Photogs caught up with “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star, who teased her long-awaited return to the series … making it clear she’ll be back for more than one season.

    Phaedra Parks getty 1

However, it was her thoughts on the franchise’s possible expansion that was most noteworthy … issuing a warning to TV producers to tread carefully before casting big MAGA supporters for a new iteration.

Watch the video … when asked if Bravo should dip their toes into conservative waters, Phaedra struggled to hide her honest reaction — making a noticeable face before laughing at the pitch.

She added … “That might make for some dangerous television. They like to run up on people … with weird hats on.”

Though, after a bit of thought, Phaedra did admit a show centered on some of the more MAGA-fied women in the country would be “definitely interesting” to watch … but “very volatile.”

While several Bravo stars publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris — including Andy Cohen, Carole Radziwill and Dr. Wendy Osefo, among others — there were a few who were notably silent during the lead-up to the election.

So, Phaedra may not realize there are likely Trump supporters in the Bravo-verse already … only time will tell if they choose to identify themselves following the President-elect’s win.

Emmerdale spoilers for next week: First look as Tom begins to run out of luck

In Emmerdale spoilers for next week, justice finally comes for Tom, as his true colours begin to show to those closest to him.

Elsewhere, Ella’s plan to leave the village is halted when Manpreet offers a resolution, and Eric makes an admission to Leyla – and it leaves her absolutely shocked.

All this and more in Emmerdale spoilers for next week.

        Emmerdale spoilers

        1. Tom’s true colours come out

After pretending to pray to get Amelia to feel sorry for him, she and Tom head to the café to attempt to change Nicola’s mind. Despite the red flags waving in front of Amelia, when Tom hints that he wants them to be engaged one day, she is adamant to prove his innocence.

The couple put on a display of unity at the café, but all they manage to do is infuriate Nicola even more. Amelia publicly defends her boyfriend to those who will listen, but it doesn’t seem to be enough.

As she is the only one in her family who didn’t fall for Tom’s lies, Nicola is still angry at Jimmy for constantly taking his side. Her fury is heightened even more when Tom and Amelia team up. But remaining unimpressed by their attempt, it seems Nicola’s mind is set.

        2. Sam is left furious and Tom torments Belle

Sam overhears Amelia and Tom discussing moving away, and heads straight to the police station. Unfortunately for him, it seems the police are still not in any position to charge Tom.

Belle may be home, but she still feels uneasy as there is no progress in Tom’s investigation. After deciding to relax for the day, she heads upstairs. However, she has no idea that Tom has snuck in and stolen one of her tops from her suitcase.

Belle comes downstairs, looking for her top, but she has no clue that Tom is still in her house. When they bump into each other, Tom taunts Belle, who is left visibly shaken. After all she has been through, it seems Tom isn’t ready to leave her alone.

Belle is further shocked when she spots Amelia wearing her missing top. When Leyla and Amelia are surprised at her accusation, Belle quickly leaves. But this may have been Tom’s plan all along, as he lets his anger out on Amelia over the accusations. As he forces her out of the house, his outburst is witnessed by Jimmy and DS Foy, who is there to take him back to the station.

As usual, he tries to talk his way out of things, but will this be the final piece that gets Tom out of Belle’s life for good? And will Jimmy finally accept the truth?

        3. Emmerdale spoilers: Ella’s suspicion grows

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate gets a stealthy 60FPS patch and resolution boost on modern consoles

Drop your pointy hoods in surprise, fellow assassins, because Ubisoft has announced a surprise patch for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate which boosts the game up to 60fps.

The update, which is available right now, is available on Xbox Series S/X, PS5 and PS5 Pro. On Microsoft’s machines players can expect 4k and 60FPS on the Series X, while the Series S gets 1080p and 60FPS. As for Sony’s hardware, both the PS5 and PS5 Pro get 4k at 60FPS.

Syndicate launched in 2015 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, featuring a brother and sister duo in 1868 London. Generally speaking, Syndicate is typically viewed as being a middling Assassin’s Creed title, although it seems to be climbing up the ladder in recent years.

Exactly why it’s getting a random patch nearly a decade after its release though, is unknown. It seems a tad odd, really, and Ubisoft aren’t shedding any light. It seems unlikely that it has anything to do with the recent delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadow.

During a sit-down with The Sunday Times, the “Haunting In Venice” actress revealed that she first found out she couldn’t be a mother in 1988 while being married to business tycoon Dickson Poon and trying everything she could to get pregnant.

Reflecting on her past struggles with childbirth, Yeoh noted, “Maybe that is the biggest sadness in my life, that I cannot have kids.”

The actress was devastated when she found out that she would never be a mother, but as it turns out, life had other plans for her.

While Yeoh was unhappy about this aspect of her life, the movie star mentioned that she is living with zero regrets, as she has all she wants, just in a different way.

Furthermore, in the interview, Yeoh recognized that while she may never be able to have kids of her own, she is still as happy as can be because she is a godmother to six amazing children.

She also noted that she has several nieces and nephews, who are essentially her kids, and she loves them all.

Being surrounded by kids all her life has made the actress feel like she did not miss out on anything. She gets to be the cool aunt that her nephews and nieces love.

Also, Yeoh is a grandmother through her current husband, Jean Todt’s child, Nicolas Todt. The “Crazy Rich Asians” actress notably said “I do” last year to her boo, Jean, a French motor sport expert.

The happy couple have been in a relationship since 2004. In July of the same year, they got engaged, and Yeoh moved to Geneva, Switzerland.

“I don’t live with regrets because I have always given it my 110 percent,” Yeoh said. “I did everything to make it work, and sometimes even that is not enough, you have to be able.”

Yeoh further mentioned that she moved on from the bad situation she found herself in and made the best of what life had in store for her.

“In life, we say you have to not go around holding your hands like this, you have to learn to let go, and sometimes letting go helps you move forward,” she said.

While speaking on Gwyneth Paltrow’s “The Goop Podcast,” the actress said she was amazed at how some women juggle pregnancy and having a career because she could never.

Michelle Yeoh Says Her Fertility Issues Cost Her A Marriage

In 1988, Yeoh tied the knot with her Hong Kong business mogul lover, Poon, who is known for his ownership of Harvey Nichols and Charles Jourdan.

The pair were married for four years before deciding to split. During her interview on “The Goop Podcast,” the actress hinted at her fertility problems being the basis of her failed marriage to Poon.

She spoke briefly, saying her ex-husband, who was a huge entrepreneur, was trying to build an empire that would be carried down through generations by his children.

Sadly, the pair was unable to have any kids. While this may not have been the whole reason for their breakup, it was a factor.

“We did whatever was necessary to have children. Unfortunately, I was physically unable to,” she told the podcast’s host, Paltrow.
