The “Bros” part of Super Smash Bros. has always been a bit of a mystery, but series creator Masahiro Sakurai has shed some light on what it means.
For the most part, the name Super Smash Bros. title makes a lot of sense – super, because, well, Super Mario, Super Nintendo Entertainment system, Nintendo just used it a lot. Smash, because they’re hitting each other. But then you get to Bros. Yeah, sure, there’s Mario and Luigi, but I don’t think Link and Pikachu are brothers, at least not the last time I checked. But thankfully, in Masuhiro Sakurai’s latest video on his Creating Games YouTube channel, the creator of the series spoke of some of his memories of Satoru Iwata, the late former president of Nintendo Japan. In that video, he shared that it was actually Iwata who helped come up with the name.

“Mr. Iwata also had a part in coming up with the name Super Smash Bros. We had team members suggest a bunch of possible names and words we might use, then held a meeting with Mr. Shigesato Itoi to determine what title we wanted to go with, and Mr. Iwata is the one who picked out the ‘brothers’ part,” Sakurai explained, Itoi being the creator of the Earthbound/ Mother series. “His reasoning was that, even though the characters weren’t brothers at all, using the word added the nuance that they weren’t simply fighting – they were friends who were settling a little disagreement.”

It isn’t all that surprising that Iwata helped come up with the name, as there have been plenty of stories from Nintendo devs over the years who have said all the things he’s done, big and small, to help see a game through to the end. The full video is well worth a watch for more little Iwata tidbits, though prepare yourself to get a bit emotional as the topic of his illness does come up briefly.
This is also seemingly the second to last video Sakurai will be uploading to his YouTube channel, as back in June he shared that he had already recorded his final video. Based on a machine translation of this tweet, there should be one more video left from the creator, so if you’ve not checked any of them out yet, and you’re interested in game development in any capacity, you better get watching.
While Warner Bros. has already confirmed that a sequel to the insanely successful Hogwarts Legacy is being worked on and is likely quite far out, it seems like they aren’t finished with the first game just yet.
A new report from Insider Gaming claims Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition is actively in development. The report does not mention who is working on it, although a prior rumour suggested that a portion of Rocksteady’s staff had been tasked with creating a “director’s cut” version of the game following the disastrous launch of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Insider Gaming’s brief report goes on to say that the Definitive Edition of Hogwarts Legacy will contain 10-15 hours of additional content made up of a story quest, side quests, activities and outfits.
This new content is also being planned as a separate DLC for those who already own the base game. Sources “suggested” to Insider Gaming that a price of $20-30 is being considered with a 2025 release date. Presumably that price is for the DLC, while the Definitive Edition would likely retail at $60 or $70.

While Graziadei competes on DWTS season 33, wedding planning has taken a back seat as the former tennis coach focuses on dancing. However, the couple are planning on taking their time as they focus on taking baby steps.
“I think really right now our goal is to get through this dancing. Get settled where we’re gonna be living next,” Graziadei said. “And then it’s gonna be to figure out a date, figure out location, get everything kind of cleaned up a little bit.”
In Coronation Street spoilers for next week, Weatherfield is on edge as two lads spot a body floating in the water, with police identifying it as Joel’s.

1. Coronation Street spoilers for next week: Joel’s body is found
The week starts with Joel’s investigation in full swing. Craig and Kit sit down and watch the CCTV from a train station car park.
Both are shocked to see Joel and then his dad around a locker. Following the lead, Kit interviews Gus in a desperate attempt to reveal the truth.
Later on, three lads are passing by the river and see a body floating in the water. Police believe the body to be Joel’s.
Kit steals himself to break the news to Dee-Dee and Lauren at the hospital, while Lisa breaks the news to people in the Rovers.
Meanwhile, coroners undergo a shocking post mortem, which reveals he was already dead before he was chucked into the river.
The potential suicide has now switched to a murder investigation. Police draw up their suspects…

2. The suspects are lined up
Could it be Lauren? Could it be Mason? Police are investigating all lines…
Kit first questions Lauren and asks where she was on September 27, the night of Joel’s death.
Elsewhere, Dee-Dee reveals to Ed and Ronnie that Joel was murdered…
More details of the post mortem are revealed, which say that Joel died from two blows to the head with a heavy weapon, most likely a crowbar.
While on the cobbles, DS Swain learns from Yasmeen that she threw Mason out because he had a crowbar, something which puts him as a main suspect.
Ever the protective mother, Lisa tells Betsy to stay away from Mason, which only leaves her intrigued.
Betsy warns Mason that the police are onto him. Hearing her warning, Mason disposes of the crowbar in a bin behind the factory.
However, it doesn’t go smoothly as he is caught in the act by Kit.

3. Stu threatens to leave
Speed Daal’s finest are once again at loggerheads. The reason? No surprises – it’s Mason.
Stu grows angry with Yasmeen after she reveals a social worker has found alternative accommodation for Mason. She feels it’s time for Mason to move on.
He disagrees. A furious Stu tells Yasmeen he is thinking of moving – not just out, but to Germany.
Stu claims he wants to be with Eliza and Dom and away from Weatherfield.
How will Yasmeen react?

4. Bethany’s plight
Still in despair and trying to patch things up, Daniel explains to Sarah how Bethany has got it into her head that he won’t want to be with her as she now has a stoma bag.
Daniel emphasises this means nothing to him, but it doesn’t seem to be getting through to an insecure Bethany.
However, the next action is… questionable.
Later, Jenny tells Daisy that she bumped into Daniel and recounted his relationship struggles.
This makes her determined and Daisy sets off to the hospital, to put Bethany straight…

5. The Platts’ finances
Bethany’s medical flight was no small purchase. Gail is still adamant about selling the house.
However, David is still on edge and has been carefully going over his finances to see if he can buy the house.
He feels particularly mistrusting after Jesse offers to lend a hand and reveals he’s taking Gail on a trip to Whitby. Could there be an ulterior motive?
The younger Platts think so. Sarah and David take a moment to discuss his supposedly ‘strange’ behaviour. However, the conversation is cut by the arrival of an estate agent putting up a “for sale” sign. David reacts expectedly…
Jesse, unaware to their suspicions, tells Gail he wants to get to know her kids. He treats David, Sarah and Nick to lunch in the Rovers.
There, the kids quiz him on his finances and he admits he’s awaiting some cash after he sold his home.
Elsewhere, Sarah accuses Adam of stealing Damon’s money from the lock-up. Adam assures her he had nothing to do with it, nor did Daniel and the most likely suspect is Damon’s cousin who went to ‘check’ on it.
At the lunch, David advises Sarah to forget about Damon’s missing money, but she’s not done yet.
Adam stirs the pot as he says Jesse may have overheard her and David discussing the missing money and Sarah becomes adamant that Jesse took it. She follows Jesse after he has to leave early.

6. Rowan’s interference
Leanne, although still reeling from Nick and Toyah’s divorce, starts focussing her attention on sorting out the family.
She tells Toyah that both of them should move out of the flat to leave time for Nick and Sam. Leanne reveals she has rented the flat above the salon, but Toyah will have to find her own place. Rightly so…
At the Bistro, Nick gets a concerning call revealing that Rowan is pleading not guilty. He divulges this to David, and adds the family will have to go to trial against Rowan.
Trying to take his mind of things, Nick flirts with a customer, but doesn’t realise Sam is watching.
Sam takes matters into his own hands and tells the customer his dad is engaged and not available.
In an attempt to reignite Nick and Leanne’s love, Sam prepares a romantic meal at the flat.
However, disaster strikes when he uses a sharp knife to try and open some oysters.
Sam calls on Asha at No.7, who takes him to the hospital where Nick is called out.

Coronation Street spoilers: 7. Hope’s vapes
Hope tells Tyrone she is too ill to go to school. The youngster is still using vapes, despite promising her parents she’d cut them out.
Tyrone reckons Hope’s brought it on herself by vaping, and encourages a hospital visit.
Dr Gaddas confirms that Hope has a chest infection and her vaping will certainly have played a part.
Is this the wake up call she needs to put down the vapes?

8. Family worries
Gemma confides in Chesney that she doesn’t want Joseph to go on his school skiing trip in case he gets hurt and passes away, like Paul.
Ches comforts her and Joseph later reveals he doesn’t want Gemma to feel stressed on his behalf and would rather not go. Will this sort things, or cause a riff?
Elsewhere, Lauren is left delighted after the doctors say Frankie is ready to go home next month. Her friends rally around her, with Bobby taking a particularly strong stand.
He tells Max that he still has strong feelings for Lauren and wants to be with her.
However, he learns that Lauren slept on Max’s couch the other night and they start to act shifty around him.
Could something be going on?

Coronation Street spoilers: 9. Ronnie’s surprise
Debbie works behind the scenes to arrange a surprise party for Ronnie to make his birthday.
He’s happy, but his mood is quickly squished when Kit and a colleague arrive to question him and Ed.
Ronnie insists he was home alone the night Joel went missing, while Ed claims he was at No.3 with Dee-Dee and Michael.
In an attempt to get the heat off their backs, Ronnie says he last used the satnav when he and Michael helped Joel move out of his flat ages ago.
At the party, Michael reveals they actually drove to Joel’s flat in his car that time and an unimpressed Debbie realises Ronnie lied to her.
Could this be a clue to Joel’s killer?

BBC Breakfast forced many viewers to cringe and some to turn over after an “awkward” and “dreadful” Friday interview between Bill Bailey and co-presenter Naga Munchetty.
The 59-year-old comedian was on the programme’s red sofa promoting his new book My Animals, and Other Animals: A memoir of sorts.

However, in a segment that showcased animal photos, an image of Bill posing with a husky in Iceland left Naga, 49, questioning tongues.
She asked: “Is that your tongue or the dog’s tongue?”
A confused Bill replied: “That’s the dog’s tongue, what do you mean is that my tongue? It’s coming out sideways! That’s not the sort of thing I’d do! That’s the dog’s tongue!”
The presenter, who was hosting alongside Charlie Stayt, 62, did not leave it there.

Naga justified her question by adding: “Look you can see if someone said that’s your tongue, it would be believable!”
The comedy legend jumped back: “That’s not the question I thought I was going to get today: ‘Is that your tongue or the dog’s?’”
The conversation later turned to the thought of AI potentially replacing comedians.
Bill shut down the idea, saying: “Do you think? No way, AI could never replace me! Look, AI, the tongue would come straight out you’d know whose tongue it was!”
Naga teased him by responding with: “You’re saying it as a compliment, the husky had a nice tongue!”
Bill laughed it all off with a bemused “Alright…”

Many viewers took to X, formerly Twitter, to react to the interview.
One said: “Had to turn over from that Bill Bailey interview, [I’m] glad I wasn’t on my own feeling awkward watching that. Dreadful stuff. #BBCBreakfast.
Another penned: “He seemed a bit irked with her at the end.”
Meanwhile, a thrid wrote: “Naga just comes across as so annoying, ref Bill Bailey #BBCBreakfast.”

Bill’s 304-paged memoir, which came out on October 10, “shares stories of his life – and the animals he’s met along the way”.

Reality show fans are mourning the death of Frank Fritz from the hit show American Pickers.
The star of the hit History Channel series was beloved by fans and his co-star, Mike Wolfe.
In fact, it was Mike who share the sad news with the fandom, confirming his passing and also the cause of his death.

Frank Fritz’s Cause of Death: ‘American Pickers’ Star Dies At 60
Frank’s longtime co-star and friend Mike Wolfe shared the heartbreaking news over Instagram on Tuesday, October 1.
“It’s with a broken heart that I share with all of you that Frank passed away last night,” he started his tribute.
Frank had been suffering the last two years after surviving a stroke in 2022. His health forced him to leave the show just as the series was hitting it’s stride. His official cause of death was listed as “late sequela of cerebral infarction,” according to Fritz’s death certificate, obtained by TMZ.
“I’ve know Frank for more than half my life and what you’ve seen on TV has always been what I have seen, a dreamer who was just as sensitive as he was funny,” Mike added of his friend
“The same off camera as he was on, Frank had a way of reaching the hearts of so many by just being himself. Who would have ever dreamed we would share the cockpit of a white cargo van in front of millions of people interested in our adventures,” Mike continued.
Mike ended the tribute with, “We’ve been on countless trips and shared so many miles and I feel blessed that I was there by his side when he took one last journey home. I love you buddy and will miss you so much I know you’re in a better place.”
The Legacy of ‘American Pickers’
Hard to believe that a show about antiquing would be such a success, but the show has been a fan favorite since it premiere in 2010. Currently in it’s 25th season, the show is continually on “a mission to recycle America, even if it means diving into countless piles of grimy junk or getting chased off a gun-wielding homeowner’s land,” according to the show’s tagline.
The show follows the team as they scour the country for “hidden gems in junkyards, basements, garages and barns, meeting quirky characters and hearing their amazing stories.”
Franke was at the center of the incredible journey, along with his friend their co-star Danielle Colby. She also paid tribute to her late friend on Instagram.
“Frank, I will miss your ability to make everyone laugh, your love for talking tattoos, your epic collections but what I will miss the most are those little glimpses of vulnerability from time to time,” she wrote
“Frank, you loved your cat and your momma and we bonded on those things. You will be missed for all of these reasons and so many more. Rest in Peace Road Dog.”

Frank Fritz’s Health
While his legacy will always be with the show, on July 21, 2021, The History Channel announced that Frank Fritz would be departing from the cast of American Pickers.
That same day, it was reported that Fritz was hospitalized with a stroke after Mike posted about it on social media.
While it took time for Frank to recover, there was still a lot of talk about him returning to the show. In May 2023, he still didn’t sound ready and was happy to let the new “crew” take over: Danielle Colby, Mike Wolfe’s younger brother Robbie, and friend and antiques expert “Jersey Jon” Szalay.
He had quite the ride with his friends. He will be missed.
