8 Most Prestigious Classic Car Rallies In The World

There’s something magical about classic cars thundering through stunning landscapes, their gleaming chrome and polished paintwork catching the sun as they tackle challenging routes steeped in motorsport history. From the snow-capped Alps to sun-drenched Mediterranean coastlines, these prestigious classic car rallies combine automotive heritage with adventure in ways that modern motorsport simply can’t match.

1. Mille Miglia – Italy

The “Thousand Miles” remains the crown jewel of classic car rallies. While the original race from 1927-1957 is the stuff of legend, today’s recreation maintains much of that romantic spirit.

The route from Brescia to Rome and back takes participants through medieval towns, rolling Tuscan hills, and along the Adriatic coast. Only cars from the original race period are eligible, making this four-day event in mid June a moving museum of automotive history.

Watching hundreds of priceless vehicles like Mercedes-Benz 300 SLRs and Ferrari 250 GTs navigate narrow Italian streets is an unforgettable spectacle.

2. Tour Auto – France

Following in the tire tracks of the historic Tour de France Automobile, this five-day rally in April crosses France from Paris to the Côte d’Azur. What sets Tour Auto apart is its combination of road sections and circuit racing at iconic tracks like Circuit Paul Ricard and Magny-Cours.

The event attracts everything from nimble Alfa Romeos to muscular Ford GT40s, all competing across various classes. The mix of high-speed track action and challenging mountain passes makes this one of the most complete tests of both car and crew.

3. Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique

Winter in the Maritime Alps provides a dramatically different challenge. Taking place from end of January to beginning of February, this recreation of the world’s oldest rally tests classic cars against snow, ice, and treacherous mountain passes.

The event pays homage to Monte-Carlo’s rallying heritage, with participants following some of the same routes that made legends of drivers like Paddy Hopkirk in his Mini Cooper S. Only cars that competed in the original Monte-Carlo Rally between 1911 and 1983 are eligible, ensuring period-correct authenticity.

4. La Carrera Panamericana – Mexico

For sheer adventure, few events can match this 2,000-mile blast down the length of Mexico. The original 1950-1954 races were considered among the most dangerous in motorsport history.

Today’s week-long event in mid October is safer but retains the spirit of adventure, with classic cars tackling challenging roads through diverse landscapes from jungle to desert. There are several different categories and American muscle cars are particularly popular here, with thundering Studebakers and Oldsmobiles battling through mountain passes and colonial cities.

5. Peking to Paris Motor Challenge

The ultimate classic car endurance rally, this 36-day, 8,500-mile adventure recreates the pioneering 1907 automobile race. Crossing two continents, participants navigate through the Gobi Desert, Russian steppes, and European countryside from mid May to mid June.

The challenge isn’t just about speed – it’s about keeping these historic vehicles running through extreme conditions and rough terrain. From pre-war Bentleys to classic Porsche 911s, the cars that complete this epic journey earn their place in motorsport history.

6. London to Brighton Veteran Car Run

While not strictly a rally, this historic day run deserves mention as the world’s oldest motoring event. The RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run is not to be missed!

Limited to pre-1905 vehicles, the annual November journey celebrates the abolition of Britain’s restrictive Locomotive Acts. Watching these pioneering automobiles tackle the 60-mile route offers a unique window into the dawn of motoring. Steam-powered vehicles share the road with early petrol engines, creating an atmosphere that’s more mobile museum than competitive event.

In recent years, the focus has been on sustainability. In 2024, four pre-1905 vehicles owned by the Royal Automobile Club ran on innovative sustainable fuels.

7. Rallye des Princesses Richard Mille Paris – St Tropez

Born as a tribute to the historic Paris-Saint-Raphaël Féminin rally of 1929, this prestigious all-women event combines glamour with serious motorsport challenge. In mid May, over 90 teams of female drivers and navigators pilot classic and vintage cars from Place Vendôme in Paris to the French Riviera, covering over 1,500 kilometers.

The rally welcomes cars from 1946 to 1991, creating a diverse field that might include everything from elegant Mercedes-Benz 190 SLs to spirited Porsche 356s. What sets this event apart is not just its unique status as a women-only competition, but its perfect blend of competitive regularity challenges with luxurious hospitality. Indeed, the event is sponsored by high-end watchmaker Richard Mille.

8. Barcelona – Sitges International Vintage Car Rally

This charming Mediterranean rally, running since 1959, celebrates the golden age of motoring along Spain’s stunning Costa del Garraf. Limited to cars manufactured before 1924, the event brings together some of Europe’s finest veteran vehicles for a scenic 40-kilometer journey from Plaza Sant Jaume in Barcelona to the coastal town of Sitges.

What makes this rally particularly special is its emphasis on period authenticity – participants often dress in period-correct clothing, creating a delightful time capsule of early 20th-century motoring culture. The route along the historic Garraf coast road, with its sweeping views of the Mediterranean, provides a perfect backdrop for these elegant machines, from brass-era Rolls-Royces to pioneering Hispano-Suizas.

Final Thoughts on the Top Classic Car Rallies in the World

Whether you’re a participant or spectator, these rallies offer a unique blend of automotive history, sporting challenge, and adventure. They remind us that classic cars were built to be driven, not just displayed, and that the golden age of motoring still has the power to captivate and inspire.

The sight and sound of historic vehicles tackling iconic roads continues to draw enthusiasts from around the world, ensuring these events remain vibrant celebrations of our automotive heritage.

For those considering participating, remember that most events offer different categories to suit various levels of competition and vehicle preparation. While some focus on precise timing and navigation, others emphasize the journey over the stopwatch. What they all share is the opportunity to experience classic motoring in its most exciting and authentic form.

Richard Cohen Cause of Death: Meredith Vieira’s Husband Passes Away at 76

Richard Cohen Cause of Death: Meredith Vieira’s Husband Passes Away at 76

Sad news out of the world of television today, as Meredith Vieira’s husband, Richard Cohen, has passed away.

Fittingly, the news was shared this morning on the Today show, where Meredith worked as an anchor from 2006 to 2011.

Hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie revealed that Cohen passed away on Christmas Eve.

Meredith Vieira, host of NBC's Today Show, and her husband Richard M. Cohen, a 2009 honoree for his work advocating on behalf of the chronically ill, attend the 2009 Inspire Awards hosted by AARP Magazine at the National Museum of Women in the Arts on December 8, 2008 in Washington, DC.

An obviously emotional Kotb added that he was “surrounded by family and love” in his final hours.

Kotb noted that Vieira and Cohen’s three adult children, Benjamin, Gabriel and Lily, had been “concerned they were going to lose him early” when the family gathered for Thanksgiving.

They were reportedly able to take some solace in the fact that he held on through the holiday season.

“They got a glorious month with their dad,” she explained.

    Richard Cohen’s Cause of Death

Cohen passed away following a 50-year battle with multiple sclerosis.

According to Page Six, he was diagnosed at the age 25, well before he met Vieira.

Richard reportedly opened up about his health struggles on their second date. The couple married in 1986.

    The Fights of His Life

In addition to his battle with MS, Cohen beat colon cancer twice — first in 1999 and again in 2000.

He wrote about his illnesses and the support he received from Vieira in his 2018 memoir, Chasing Hope: A Patient’s Deep Dive into Stem Cells, Faith, and the Future.

“Spouses have the burden of tending to the needs of a loved one, even when they would secretly rather push him out a window,” he wrote.

“I knew they should not be treated as spectators when they are in the ring with us,” he added.

Meredith and Richard were in the ring together for nearly 40 years of marriage. And we’re sure she’ll continue to fight for the causes he cared so deeply about.

Our thoughts go out to Richard’s loved ones during this enormously difficult time.

Inside Paddy McGuinness’ post-split love life as he addresses romance rumours with Inside The Factory co-star

Inside Paddy McGuinness’ post-split love life as he addresses romance rumours with Inside The Factory co-star

Fans were left convinced that Paddy McGuinness is dating his Inside The Factory co-star after he posted photos of the pair together.

The TV star has since broken his silence and acknowledged the rumours that have began to circulate.

Paddy surprised his followers when he posted a carousel of images on Instagram with his Inside The Factory co-star Cherry Healey.

His divorce with ex-wife Christine McGuinness was finalised in 2024 after their shock split in 2022.

Is Paddy McGuinness dating his co-star?

In the Instagram post, one of the photos showed Paddy and Cherry having a meal together, and also visiting a book store.

He gushed about the whole crew who work on the show, but took the time to give Cherry an individual shout-out – and it was very sweet.

Paddy captioned the post: “The whole crew on Inside The Factory have been a joy to work with. A small-but-perfectly-formed team. Also I had never met Cherry before, but we hit it off straight away. Absolutely love working with her. She’s an absolute diamond!”

This caused fans to believe there is something more going on behind the scenes. And they wasted no time in sharing their opinions.

One wrote: “Is this a soft launch for your new Mrs?”

Another added: “Oooh I’m liking this. New lady Paddy? You look cute together. A subtle introduction.”

A third penned: “I suspect she is your soulmate!”

“Looks like someone is smitten to me. Congratulations if so,” a fourth commented.

However, hopes were quickly dashed when Paddy decided to tackle the rumours head on and give a definitive answer.

In the comments he responded: “Not at all. She’s just a great person.”

The simple-but-declarative response hints that Paddy is still looking for love, but unfortunately for his fans, not with his new co-host.

Paddy made his Inside the Factory debut beside Cherry last month during the show’s BBC Christmas special.

Paddy and Cherry ‘got on’ as soon as they met

Fans hopes may have been raised at a possible romance after Paddy confessed to The Sun that he was nervous about working with Cherry for the first time.

He confessed: “That’s always the tricky bit. You hope you get on. But I’m telling you now, me and Cherry do so much laughing. As soon as I met her, we had the biggest talk and we just got on like that.”

The new duo comes after Gregg Wallace stepped down from the show last year after allegations against him came to light.

Paddy’s dating life has been in the spotlight since he and Christine confirmed their shock split. Despite once being an adorable couple, the pair were unable to make their 11-year relationship work.

Since the split, he’s been linked to TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher. In February 2023, they were spotted out on what onlookers suspected to be a date. However, it seems dating isn’t right for Paddy just yet.

He said earlier this year: “I tried a couple of dates last year. After 12 months of adjusting to life on my own, I felt I should give it a try rather than really wanting to. For now, I’m happy being single.”

Inside Holly Willoughby’s ‘fresh start’ in 2025 – from mega-bucks three-show ‘offer’ from ITV to new ‘£8m’ mansion

Inside Holly Willoughby’s ‘fresh start’ in 2025 – from mega-bucks three-show ‘offer’ from ITV to new ‘£8m’ mansion

Holly Willoughby is gearing up for a “fresh start” in 2025, it has been reported. But what does she have up her sleeve?

The beloved TV presenter – who shares two children with husband Dan Baldwin – had a tough 2024. In July, police uncovered a plot to kidnap, rape and kill her.

As a result, Holly took a step back from the spotlight – including quitting ITV’s This Morning after 14 years years, amid a reported ‘feud’ with co-host Phillip Schofield.

Now, with Holly back on screens on Sunday (January 5) for the new Dancing on Ice series, it looks like 2025 has a lot in store for Holly.

        Holly Willoughby new mansion

It was recently reported that Holly forked out £8 million for her new mansion. She moved out of her reported £3 million London family home following her terrifying stalker ordeal last year.

The court sentenced the man allegedly behind the plot, Gavin Plumb, to life in prison in July. He will serve a minimum sentence of 16 years.

Now, it’s been claimed that Holly has moved into a new seven-bedroom mansion worth a reported £8 million, which she bought July.

The Sun claims that Holly and Dan are currently extending the property, as well as adding extra security. Land Registry documents also mention no charge from lenders.

        Holly’s mega-bucks three-show offer from ITV

With Holly back on screens for Dancing on Ice, it’s been reported ITV is keen to keep the TV star on their channel.

So much so, that they have reportedly offered her £1,000,000 to host three new series.

According to The Sun, Holly could bag a full series of You Bet! and another Saturday night show, and a potential gameshow or quiz.

“ITV chiefs are attempting to future-proof their relationship with Holly, who they very much see as having launched and nurtured her career on the network,” a TV insider told the publication.

They added: “ITV chiefs are attempting to future-proof their relationship with Holly, who they very much see as having launched and nurtured her career on the network.

“But they also understand she has earned her place as one of Britain’s biggest TV stars. And inevitably rivals will make her offers — so they feel they have to tempt her to stay.

“Of course, it’s entirely up to Holly if she takes up ITV’s deal or starts to consider her options elsewhere.”

A spokeswoman for ITV declined to comment.

Holly Willoughby ‘feeling like herself again’

Back in December, it was reported that Holly was ready to step back into the spotlight and “finally put everything behind her”.

A source told OK!: “It’s been quite a hellish year, what with the Gavin Plumber trial and the ongoing fallout with Phil but she is starting to feel like herself again.”

The source went on to claim that this is “mainly down” to her supportive friends and family, who have “helped her through some dark times”.

What’s more, the insider also shared that Holly is keen to get back to work too. They said: “People will see her doing different things, working with different co-stars.”

They also claimed: “Holly can’t wait to get back to doing jobs and shows she loves. She is determined to never go back to those dark days and feel as vulnerable as she did.”

US Blacklists Tencent Over Alleged Ties With Chinese Military

US Blacklists Tencent Over Alleged Ties With Chinese Military

In the world of video games, Tencent is one of the major players in part because it owns Riot Games–the company behind League of Legends–as well as stakes in other companies, including Epic Games. However, the company is now facing serious problems over its alleged ties with the Chinese military.

According to Bloomberg, Tencent is one of several companies that have been blacklisted by the US Defense Department after the government declared them to be Chinese military-affiliated. Tencent and the other companies on the list have the right to appeal that classification, because the ramifications are enormous if that stands. Companies tied to the Chinese military may be removed or delisted from US stock exchanges and other markets around the world.

In after-hours trading, Tencent felt the first ramifications of this news when its shares fell 7.3% to $49.31. If Tencent fails to appeal and it is delisted, the company could lose a great deal of money and it’s unclear how that would affect Riot Games. Tencent recently attracted the US government’s attention over two members it named to Epic’s board of directors. The Justice Department noted that the Clayton Act is meant to prevent board members from one company serving on a rival company’s board as well. Consequently, Riot Games’ Ben Feder and David Wallerstein resigned from Epic’s board, and Tencent relinquished its right to name any additional members to Epic.

Tencent also owns a 16% stake in Elden Ring developer From Software, and it is reportedly developing a mobile version of that title. Additionally, Tencent is a minor owner of Assassin’s Creed publisher Ubisoft, and recent reports indicate that the former is interested in increasing its stake in the latter. Thus far, Ubisoft and Tencent have not reached a deal about the future of the publisher.

Reddit Collectible Avatars Head Exits, Sparking Doubts Among NFT Holders – Cryptoflies News

        3

The head of Reddit Collectible Avatars — the platform’s main non-fungible token (NFT) initiative — has stepped down, leaving questions about the project’s future.

Bianca Wyler, who led the project, announced her departure in a LinkedIn post, writing, “Today marks the end of an incredible chapter in my career as my role at Reddit has come to a close.”

The announcement has raised concerns among NFT holders about the project’s direction. Many are questioning the long-term value of their NFTs and whether the initiative might face a shutdown.

These worries are not groundless. In July, Reddit revealed plans to end its “Collectible Expressions,” animated versions of its NFT avatars.

Around the same time, the company introduced a new lead for Collectible Avatars, stating they would “invest more time into the community” and hinted at “some thrilling new updates and plans to share.”

        You Might Be Interested In

Reddit’s Collectible Avatars launched in 2022, allowing users to purchase blockchain-based profile pictures minted on the Polygon blockchain.

Over the years, Reddit expanded its offerings with limited-edition NFTs, often collaborating with external organizations. For instance, in 2023, Reddit partnered with the NFL to release Super Bowl LVII-themed avatars. It also introduced a fourth generation of NFT avatars inspired by the Cool Cats series.

Data from Dune Analytics shows that Reddit’s NFT initiative has achieved some milestones, with over 33 million holders and more than 37 million mints.

While this highlights its early success, the project has experienced a decline in activity over the past two years, further fueling concerns about its sustainability.

3 Altcoins Ready to Surge 12000% if Bitcoin Hits $350000 as Predicted by ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ Author Robert Kiyosaki

Bitcoin’s ascent is typically accompanied by tectonic movements in the crypto world, with forecasts suggesting a possible market price of $350,000. Robert Kiyosaki, the author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad, has rekindled interest by offering a bullish perspective. This optimism shone a spotlight on some select altcoins that have the potential for enormous ascents. Of those, Rexas Finance (RXS), Shiba Inu (SHIB), and Dogecoin (DOGE) appear to be leading candidates. Below is an analysis of their market shares and growth prospects.

Rexas Finance Transforming Real-World Asset Ownership

Rexas Finance (RXS) is reshaping how investors access and manage real-world assets (RWAs). Leveraging blockchain technology, Rexas Finance allows users to tokenize properties, commodities, and other tangible assets, breaking barriers to ownership. For example, anyone can buy a share in prime real estate or even a fraction of gold reserves from anywhere, using a single click. The platform’s Token Builder simplifies this process by enabling individuals to tokenize their assets effortlessly. Additionally, the Rexas Launchpad supports fund-raising efforts for these tokenized projects, creating a robust ecosystem for innovation. Investors gain access to high-value markets like real estate—valued at over $280 trillion globally—and commodities, enhancing liquidity and inclusivity.

3 Altcoins Ready to Surge 12000% if Bitcoin Hits $350000 as Predicted by ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ Author Robert Kiyosaki

Tools such as Rexas Quickmint Bot, GenAI, and AI Shield ensure seamless integration of RWAs into blockchain networks, eliminating inefficiencies. With these features, Rexas Finance bridges the gap between traditional asset markets and blockchain, offering unmatched investment opportunities.

The RXS token, based on the ERC-20 standard, has generated significant interest. Its presale, now in stage 11, has raised $34.6 million, with prices rising nearly sixfold from $0.03 to $0.175 per token. A public presale, rather than VC funding, ensures accessibility, fostering a decentralized investment community. Shiba Inu (SHIB) has maintained its appeal as a high-potential memecoin. Recent technical analysis shows a bullish trend, with a target price of $0.0000702—an increase of nearly 190%. Market stability around $0.000024 signals an accumulation phase, often a precursor to major price movements. SHIB’s oval trend pattern, featuring higher lows, points to growing investor interest. Analysts highlight this as a sign of an impending breakout, making SHIB a strong contender for substantial gains if Bitcoin achieves its predicted surge.

DOGE’s historical performance aligns with this trajectory, supported by patterns from previous bull cycles. While its short-term price hovers around $0.30, DOGE has shown resilience, maintaining key support levels. Experts believe the memecoin is in the final stages before a breakout rally, positioning it as a top altcoin to watch.

Galxe Earndrop: Simplifying Airdrops, Maximizing Rewards

Galxe Earndrop: Simplifying Airdrops, Maximizing Rewards

Claiming tokens from new projects can feel like a chore. You have to find official claim pages, worry about scams, and hope the process actually works. Galxe Earndrop aims to fix these problems by giving you a central platform where you can view and collect multiple airdrops without the usual hassle.

Traditional Airdrops: Why They Can Be Tricky

Most airdrops ask you to visit specific websites, fill out forms, or interact with complex smart contracts. When you’re dealing with many different projects, that routine quickly gets tiring. You might miss deadlines or click on a risky link.

On top of that, if the project’s website isn’t well-tested, you could run into bugs or even lose your tokens. Galxe’s newest feature, Earndrop, was designed to offer a simpler way to participate in token distributions.

          What Makes Earndrop Different?

Galxe Earndrop keeps everything in one place, so users don’t have to bounce around multiple sites or track down various claim links. Simply connect your wallet, and you’ll see which projects are running airdrops for which you qualify. This saves you time and helps you stay organized.

Thanks to Galxe’s history of building Web3 solutions, Earndrop has been set up to be especially user-friendly. Rather than showing you complicated workflows, the platform guides you through each claim.

          Source Galxe

Security also gets an upgrade. Earndrop uses Galxe’s Sybil prevention methods to keep bots from taking extra tokens. Only real users can claim, so you won’t have to worry that a few scammers will drain the rewards pool.

Galxe says their infrastructure ensures accuracy and eliminates the bugs often seen in token claim processes.

          Join the XRP Earndrop

To celebrate Earndrop’s launch, Galxe partnered with XRP for a special event, putting 400,000 XRP up for grabs. Starting January 6, 2025, you can visit the XRP Earndrop page, connect your wallet, and check if you’re eligible. If you qualify, claiming is a quick process that lets you see Earndrop’s interface in action.

          More Earndrops on the Way

The XRP event is only the beginning. Earndrop will soon feature projects like Solayer, Diam, Jambo, and SlamNet, each with its own distribution campaign. This gives you easy access to a range of new tokens in one central location. You won’t have to spend time verifying new websites or digging around for different claim pages; it’s all in the same place.

Earndrop is powered by the same ecosystem that supports Galxe’s Passport, Score, and other solutions designed to keep digital identities secure. The platform also runs on Gravity, a Layer 1 blockchain that confirms transactions quickly and aims to prevent network slowdowns.

          Final Thoughts

If you’re tired of the traditional airdrop process, Galxe Earndrop could be a great alternative. It combines security, simplicity, and transparency to help you take part in a range of token distributions without the usual stress. Whether you’re new to crypto or a seasoned trader, this platform aims to make getting involved in airdrops safe and convenient.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War development cost a massive $700m

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War development cost a massive 0m

As spotted by the talented Stephen Totilo at Game File, we now have a better idea of just how expensive the Call of Duty series is to make, and boy, those are some big numbers.

The information comes from official court documents that were filed last month in response to the Uvalde suit which alleges that Call of Duty games played a role in influencing a teenager to commit a mass shooting which resulted in the deaths of 19 teenagers and 2 adults.

According to the documents, Patrick Kelly (creative director of Call of Duty) specifically addresses three Call of Duty titles that the suit claims the shooter played heavily: Black Ops 3, Modern Warfare (2019) and Black Ops Cold War.

The document then goes on to reveal the budgets for each of the games. I’d suggest grabbing your underpants, people, because the numbers are nuts. Black Ops 3 (2015) apparently cost $450m to make, while Modern Warfare (2019) boosted that up to $640m. That ain’t the cake-taker, though, because that award goes to Black Ops Cold War (2020) which cost a whopping $700m.

Now, there is a caveat to these numbers. While they don’t appear to include marketing costs, although that is unclear, Kelly does specify that all these budgets are “development costs over the game’s lifecycle.” That means they include development costs after release, such as producing patches, balancing the game, DLC, events and so on. These costs are technically ongoing too, since you can still play these games and they do likely have at least a few staff members working on them.

Regardless, those are some staggering numbers, and presumably the costs have only risen with the newer titles. After all, rising development costs are one of the biggest problems the industry is currently facing. Triple-A titles are taking longer to make and costing more.

It’s difficult to ascertain whether this would officially make the Call of Duty titles the most expensive games ever made, although they are certainly up there. But for some comparisons, leaked Sony documents revealed that The Last of Us Part 2 cost $220m to make. The upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 from Insomniac has been estimated at anywhere from $280-350m. And then, of course, there’s Sony’s failed Concord which supposedly cost up to $400m to make, although it had a more complicated development.

Kelly’s revelations about the series’ budgets are not part of the direct response to the suit but rather a general description of what Call of Duty is so that lawyers can reference it later.
