    EastEnders spoilers for next week: First look as Grant Mitchell returns in Phil’s hour of need


    In EastEnders spoilers next week, Grant Mitchell returns to the Square as Phil experiences worrying hallucinations.

    Elsewhere, Sonia confronts Reiss and soon has her exit blocked… Will things take a sinister turn?

    All this and more in EastEnders spoilers.

    1. Phil’s mental health declines

    Phil lashes out at Sharon after she reluctantly convinces him to get checked out by a doctor. She then heads off after listening to Phil’s unkind words.

    Later, at Billy and Honey’s Sten-do, Sharon worries about Phil as she realises he organised the event but hasn’t even turned up.

    Unaware that Phil is experiencing hallucinations, Sharon rounds up a search party in a bid to locate him.

    2. Hallucinations take their toll on Phil

    Sharon, Jay, Billy and Honey all try to track down Phil but have no luck. Phil then starts to experience psychosis symptoms of hallucinations and believes that he’s back in the 1985 version of the Mitchell family home.

    During his hallucinations, Phil watches a key moment from his youth before speaking to a version of his younger self as well as key characters from his past.

    But, can Phil get the support he so desperately needs?

    3. Grant’s back

    Sharon and Jay finally find Phil at No.55 but Phil rejects their help. He’s then surprised though when Nigel turns up with an unexpected guest – Grant Mitchell!

    4. Sten-do chaos

    Teddy works hard to pull off a successful Sten-do for Billy and Honey.

    The celebrations start off great, but Phil’s disappearance soon throws a spanner in the works…

    EastEnders spoilers next week 5. Sonia confronts Reiss

    Sonia watches Bianca’s ‘confession’ video but Reiss tries to distract her. Sonia soon falls unwell and heads to the hospital whilst Reiss rushes to the lock up.

    He hears that Sonia’s not well, heads home to check on her before leaving to return to the lock up once more…

    Sonia prepares to delete the Bianca ‘confession’ video but soon gets stopped when making a troubling discovery. When Reiss returns home again, Sonia questions him over his whereabouts.

    Things take a sinister turn though when Reiss starts to block Sonia’s exit as she goes to leave after confronting him… But, will she realise his true colours?

    EastEnders spoilers next week 6. Priya and Ian team up

    Cindy and Ian are at the centre of accusations as tensions within the family are high.

    Priya and Ian have a drink together at The Vic and watch as Ravi, Cindy and Junior turn up. They then decide to team up…

    Both Cindy and Kathy make sure that the cosy moment between Ian and Priya is short-lived though.

    Priya later invites herself round to No.45 but heads off after being offended by Kathy. Ian then gets ready to follow her…

    7. Chelsea and Penny make amends

    Chelsea moves into No.27 but Denise tries to get her to backtrack. Penny’s furious that Jack’s letting Chelsea move in but she finally makes amends with her and puts all bad blood aside.

    A recent sale for Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 results in a record-breaking player count on Steam


    Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games’ much lauded and most recent entry in the Red Dead series, saw a record-breaking jump for concurrent players on Steam thanks to a recent sale on the platform.

    For context, Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) originally launched on consoles on October 26, 2018.

    Rockstar’s Western-themed action-adventure game didn’t even release on Steam until over a year later on December 5th, 2019, when it hit a peak concurrent player count of 55,269.

    Rockstar Games has not officially announced another title in the series, nor is there a current television or film adaptation of the games to suddenly draw such impressive numbers of players back to the game by the wagon.

    The reason for the sudden influx of players can be attributed to a recent Steam sale that saw Red Dead Redemption 2 attain a 75% discount, making the storied title reach its lowest-ever price point of $14.99 USD for the base edition on the sale-friendly PC platform.

    At the time of writing, Red Dead Redemption 2 is the 9th highest-rated video game on Metacritic, and according to tracking site Howlongtobeat.com, players, on average, spend about 78 hours on the game across all listed playstyles.

    5 Years After Its Launch on Steam, Red Dead Redemption 2’s Recent Peak Player Count Impresses

    There is a precedent for this sort of thing, as generous sales and deep discounts have been noted to help even badly received and critically panned games reach unforeseen heights.

    The recent sale that saw RDR2’s player count shoot up to nearly 100,000 peak concurrent players is part of a general sale on Rockstar Games on the Steam games platform.

    According to these tracking websites, the game’s previous peak occurred in November 2023, when the record was 77,655 concurrent players.

    Last week, when the Rockstar Games sales on Steam began, the 2023 record had already been topped with a peak of 86,717 concurrent players.

    With so many players either saddling up as Arthur Morgan for the first time, or joining Dutch’s colorful crew once again, time will tell if this new record will be broken or if it will stand the test of time until Rockstar Games’ next entry in the series eventually gallops along to shatter it.

So why is that great game getting another mention on Indie Retro News? Well as of today if you have an MSX, you can download the latest release of Doomlings by Totta. A game that isn’t about saving Lemmings unlike the original game, but you are tasked with killing as many as possible per level.

      And here’s what the MSXdev competition page says about the game. “In Doomlings, your goal is to get a specific number of the mindless creatures killed, but where Lemmings will mindlessly walk into all sort of dangers, Doomlings will try to survive and reach the exit… because it would have been too easy otherwise. Across many levels, you have to make sure that the required amount of Doomlings do get killed. As in Lemmings, there are several tools at your disposal, which change on each level. You can use them to interact with the environment and make sure this doomed souls actually meet their maker”.

      “This action puzzle game will push your quick thinking and evil instincts to the limit as levels get more complex and your toolbox expands. While the Doomlings want to reach safety, it is your job to make sure that they don’t.”

        MicroStrategy Hit Pause on Its Bitcoin Buying—For Now – Decrypt



        Software company MicroStrategy has stopped buying Bitcoin—for now, anyway.

        The “Bitcoin treasury company” that now mainly securitizes the biggest cryptocurrency had been on a roll, snapping up huge amounts of the asset for 12 weeks straight.

        But on Monday morning New York time, the firm’s co-founder and chairman Michael Saylor said on X, formerly Twitter, that the firm halted its buys last week.

        “Last week, MicroStrategy did not sell any shares of class A common stock under its at-the-market equity offering program, and did not purchase any Bitcoin,” he wrote.

        Still, the company holds 471,107 coins (worth $46.6 billion at the current Bitcoin price) and has spent $30.4 billion on buying the asset over the years.

        The bulk of that buying has happened recently, though. Towards the end of last year and the beginning of 2025, MicroStrategy accelerated its Bitcoin buys, spending over $20 billion on the asset in 12 weeks.

        Tysons, Virginia-based MicroStrategy last year announced a “21/21 Plan” to raise $42 billion to buy Bitcoin. The plan means the firm will raise $21 billion via equity, with another $21 billion coming by selling fixed income securities.

        MicroStrategy used to mostly sell data analysis software, but now buys and holds Bitcoin. Investors, in turn, have been buying shares of MicroStrategy to get exposure to the orange coin without having to worry about storing it themselves.

        Saylor said his company was struggling when COVID lockdowns hit the U.S. and the Fed lowered interest rates. He discovered Bitcoin and claimed it was the best way to store value and save shareholders’ money.

        MicroStrategy stock has since soared. It was trading for $14.44 the day the company announced its first Bitcoin buy in August 2020 and it’s now trading for $332. That’s a 2,199% increase.

        In December, MicroStrategy joined the Nasdaq-100, an index of the top 100 non-financial companies on the Nasdaq stock market, alongside tech titans like Apple and Microsoft.

        The company last week announced it has finalized the price of its new stock, named STRK, which it will use to raise funds to amass even more Bitcoin for its treasury.

        Why Privacy Is Key to an AI-Powered Decentralized Web

        AI will completely change every area of our existence, starting with revolutionizing our online lives. Currently, most of our digital activities revolve around Web2 services, which are highly centralized, inherently permissioned, and deeply controlling. Put another way, they are run by huge tech corporations with unfavorable ‘terms and conditions’ designed to aggressively harvest our personal information for profit. While these apps are “free” to users, there are hidden costs in terms of our data and potentially wider freedoms.

        In the coming era of AI, this model risks becoming terrifyingly exploitative if power remains with tech giants. In this article, we argue that the future of AI must be connected to Web3. This pathway offers a permissionless version of the web, based on decentralized technologies like blockchain, where user data is protected and their rights preserved.

        In order to facilitate the delivery of AI-powered Web3, we need a robust, scalable privacy layer. Without this, we will not be able to adequately protect users as they go about their business on-chain. With this in mind, COTI has developed a lightweight and flexible solution for decentralized confidential computing (DeCC) that can allow users to retain full control of their personal data– even on-chain and with permissioned access, fit for the oncoming era of AI & Web3.

        So, What Does the Decentralized Web Look Like?: From Search To Agents

        ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and other chatbots are already taking over from search engines like Google. These are examples of AI agents – autonomous or semi-autonomous programs capable of analyzing inputs and information and making reasoned decisions. Instead of returning a list of relevant pages, ChatGPT can assimilate all the data it finds and provide a single, helpful result. It takes the raw search results and does the job of filtering and synthesizing them, a job that we would once have done ourselves, only far more quickly and efficiently. As OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has said: “AI agents will transform the way we interact with technology, making it more natural and intuitive.” 

        Agents are fast replacing old-style web searches and much else besides helping users access all kinds of services effectively. To do so, they will accumulate large amounts of personal and “intent” data: information that signals what users are interested in and what they might do. That data constitutes a very valuable resource to companies and organizations of all kinds. However, it also poses a risk to users.

        Since agents are autonomous, their capabilities are maximized when they are able to exchange information between themselves, which could include the exchange of value. That becomes very difficult with a standard Web2 model since TradFi is not structured to enable automated payments by non-human entities – especially not micropayments and especially not international payments. 

        For Web3, it’s completely different. Smart contracts will be the native and default way that agents do business. Users will sign up to and interface with Web3 services using smart contracts via their AI agents. Payments will necessarily use cryptocurrency since it integrates seamlessly with smart contracts and allows permissionless, borderless, programmable transactions of any size. 

        The Agent Economy Runs On Web3

        Imagine a world – coming soon – in which users have their own personal AI agents, which hold data representing a rich profile of their circumstances and intent. Essentially, this is the digital representation of “you”. These agents will carry out diverse tasks, from work and recreational activities to e-commerce. Because agents will have so much information about users and because their algorithms are so powerful, they will be able to suggest solutions that users had never even considered themselves.

        Users will be able to grant other agents permission to interact with their data and allow their own agents to carry out various tasks. Want to book the perfect holiday?
