Britain’s Got Talent fans urge ITV bosses to ban ‘dangerous’ acts after watching Fakir Testa on stage

Britain’s Got Talent fans urge ITV bosses to ban ‘dangerous’ acts after watching Fakir Testa on stage

Britain’s Got Talent viewers were left uneasy during tonight’s show after one act pushed things so far that some fans called for dangerous routines to be banned altogether.

The judges returned to Blackpool and Birmingham as another batch of hopefuls tried to win over the panel and secure a place in the live finals, where a £250,000 prize and a spot at the Royal Variety Performance are up for grabs.

As always, the aim is to make it through to the next stage – or, better still, land a Golden Buzzer and head straight to the live semi-finals. And on Saturday’s episode (April 18), another act managed to do just that.

But while one contestant had the crowd cheering, another left viewers questioning whether Britain’s Got Talent had gone too far for a family entertainment show.

    Britain’s Got Talent tonight

First off, we saw the adorable – and impressive – dance group Celtic Beat from wales. The choreography included jaw-dropping backflips, pyramids and a routine that saw them go through to the next round.

The Lux City Choir were praised by Alesha Dixon for bringing something “different” to their singing performance, while KSI admitted they kept him entertained despite his short attention span.

But not all of them got the result they were hoping for. 27-year-old Wei Yemin used flip flips on pipes to create music, and the sparklers didn’t exactly hurt the performance, but it didn’t help either. After KSI and Alesha gave him a red buzzer, he promised a more “dangerous” performance where the sparklers sprayed his face.

Fakir Testa’s knife routine scares fans on Britain’s Got Talent

However, Fakir Testa’s Britain’s Got Talent performance had the judges, and most of the audience at home, hiding behind their hands.

Dressed in just trousers, he first terrified the panel by stepping up a ladder of ‘knives’ with his bare feet. This was before he then hung from a height on top of a blade that was placed beneath his neck.

Simon and Alesha gave him the red buzzer, not enjoying the act at all. But that didn’t stop the routine. Fakir gestured for Simon to come up on stage and he was invited to sit in the car that was sitting nearby. After, the contestant dragged the car with two chains connected to a large machete that again, was placed beneath his neck.

However, fans have urged for ITV bosses to ban dangerous acts after seeing the performance.

“This sort of stuff shouldn’t be allowed,” begged one.

Another penned: “I think Britain’s Got Talent should stop letting people come on with machetes. Not even entertaining, sorry.”

“Don’t try this at home? I don’t intend to try it anywhere,” joked a second, after seeing the warning on screen.

“They all said yes?” questioned another after Fakir was sent through to the next round.

Someone else asked: “I mean, how do you even find out you can do this?!

Mr Cherry wins the Golden Buzzer

Mr Cherry, a 45-year-old strongman, started off strong as he showed off his incredible skills of opening up jars of pickles. Simon bowed out when he started crushing cans of Red Bull with his bottom, but then he stepped it up a notch by opening up bottles of wine with his bum cheeks.

He didn’t stop there, each level to the routine saw him lose a layer of clothing, and he revealed Union Jack chaps with little red underwear.

“Simon, no!” he shouted, as the audience laughed.

Thankfully, he didn’t mess up the rest of the act.

KSI even gave him the Golden Buzzer.

    “This program is getting worse”

“Are you kidding KSI. A Golden Buzzer for that. This program is getting worse,” begged one fan on X (Twitter).

“No way was that a Golden Buzzer,” said another.

Someone else echoed the feeling: “A golden buzzer for opening a bottle with your bum cheeks. Bring back Bruno. KSI has lost the plot.”we

However, not all are upset by KSI’s decision.

“Mr Cherry for the win,” declared one huge fan of the fact.

Ring-a-Ding Launches OpenClaw Skill for AI Agent Phone Calls | Web3Wire

RALEIGH, N.C, April 18, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Ring-a-Ding, a new OpenClaw skill for AI agent telephony, launched today to give AI agents the ability to make outbound phone calls for everyday tasks such as requesting quotes, booking appointments and checking availability. The tool installs through a command-line interface and

According to the company, many real-world tasks still require phone calls even as AI agents have become more capable in areas such as web research, email and file management. Ring-a-Ding was developed to help bridge that gap by handling phone number provisioning, SIP connectivity, real-time voice routing, call transcription and summaries behind the scenes.

The company said the skill is built for dynamic, one-to-one calls in which an AI agent generates the purpose and context of each conversation at the time of the call. Examples include contacting service providers for pricing, confirming reservations, checking store inventory or gathering structured information from a business by phone. Ring-a-Ding said the product is intended for legitimate task-based calls and prohibits sales calls, marketing outreach and robocalling.

Ring-a-Ding is available for $19 per month under a bring-your-own-key model, in which users provide their own OpenAI API key for voice AI while Ring-a-Ding manages the telephony layer. The company said each subscription includes outbound AI phone calls, a managed U.S. phone number pool, real-time voice bridging, transcripts, summaries and OpenClaw CLI integration. The skill is also designed to work as an MCP server for use with other compatible AI agents.

“Hundreds of things I need to get done every week still require a phone call,” said Vitaliy Levit, founder of Ring-a-Ding. “I wanted my OpenClaw agent to handle those calls for me without having to build a full voice infrastructure stack first.”

SMS messaging and inbound call handling are on the product roadmap, according to the company.

About Ring-a-DingRing-a-Ding is an OpenClaw skill for AI agent telephony that enables outbound phone calls by managing phone numbers, SIP connectivity, real-time voice routing and call transcription. The company said the product also functions as an MCP server for other compatible AI agents.

Ruth Langsford’s pain as she’s ‘shut out’ of Eamonn Holmes’ stroke battle

Ruth Langsford’s pain as she’s ‘shut out’ of Eamonn Holmes’ stroke battle

Ruth Langsford has reportedly been left ‘fighting her instincts’ to run to ex-husband Eamonn Holmes’ bedside following his stroke.

It was reported that 66-year-old Eamonn had suffered a stroke earlier this week. His age-gap girlfriend, 44-year-old Katie Alexander, has been by his hospital bedside. And Eamonn and Ruth’s son Jack is said to have been keeping his mum up to date on his dad’s recovery.

Eamonn himself posted on Instagram and said that he is ‘doing his best to get well soon’. However, sources have claimed that Ruth is struggling with the distance between herself and Eamonn, as she’s been forced to “stand back and do nothing”.

      Eamonn Holmes’ stroke statement shared

Earlier this week, reported emerged that Eamonn Holmes had suffered a stroke. At the time, his son Declan – from his first marriage – shared an update. He said: “I just wanted to share a quick message to say we hugely appreciate all the messages, it means a lot to us as a family.

“What happened came as a real shock, but Dad is doing okay given the circumstances and we’re taking it one step at a time. For now, we’re focused on him and keeping things steady around him.

“We’d really value a bit of privacy as we navigate it, and what lies ahead, but thank you again for the support as it means so much to dad and the rest of the family.”

‘Thank you for your good wishes’

Eamonn then took to social media to share a message alongside a picture of his granddaughters.

He said: “As my beautiful Granddaughters put it so well. I will do my best to get well SOOM. Thank you for all of your many many good wishes, they give me strength.”

Eamonn Holmes’ health battle ‘very sad’ for Ruth Langsford

Ruth hasn’t commented on Eamonn’s latest health concern. However, sources have alleged to The Sun that it’s been a “sad” time for the star. And they’ve alleged that it almost feels like she’s “mourning the split all over again”.

Eamonn and Ruth split in May 2024, after 27 years together.

The insider said: “It’s been very sad for her – almost like mourning the split all over again. She has been really angry and hurt by Eamonn but this week things changed and with him being so ill she parked those negative feelings and her instincts are to want to help him get better.

“She’s having to forcibly stand back and do nothing which has been really against what she wants to do. Ruth is naturally a very caring and nurturing person so she’s very out of sorts with this news.”

The source added that Ruth is feeling “pretty bereft and helpless”. They added: “Her instincts are to run to his bedside or call him on the phone but then she’s reminded she can’t do that. He has Katie now who has been stuck by his bedside and praying for his recovery.”

Posting on social media without mentioning Eamonn, Katie said: “What a week. Prayer, a little visit to church to have a word with the good Lord himself, prayer each day.”

      ChainStaff Review | TheXboxHub

      ChainStaff Review | TheXboxHub

A Brutal Blast from the Album Covers of the Past

One of the perks of being a games reviewer, apart from subjecting you all to my thoughts, is the ability to play games that I otherwise wouldn’t have picked up.

The subject of today’s review is, in fact, one of those games, going by the name of ChainStaff. Coming from Mommy’s Best Games, it is described as a “brutal action platformer”, and it certainly sounded interesting when I booted it up. Just be warned though – this is a weird one!

      Screenshot from ChainStaff
      Blast your way through ChainStaff

      Gory Detail

Kicking off with the presentation, and there is no doubt that ChainStaff has a somewhat unique look. I couldn’t place my finger on where I’d seen the art style before until I read the Xbox store page and realised that it has been inspired by album covers from the 70’s and 80’s. Now, being a mature gamer, I remember these albums from the first time around, and the graphical style certainly appeals.

And then, in-game, it comes together nicely too; the action and the backdrops of the various levels we find ourselves in are depicted very well, and every gruesome death that plays out is depicted in loving, gory detail. One thing I didn’t like was the animation in the cutscenes, which has a weird, stilted look to it: almost like the puppets we used to make in school with the pins holding the joints together. Add in the vacant look on character faces and the more time you spend playing, the better, frankly.

Sound is another area where there is good news and bad. The music is extremely well done, and fits the action perfectly. The various sound effects in the levels are also bang on, if you’ll pardon the pun, with gun noises and the demise of various foes all present and correct. There is, however, no voice acting at all, which seems like a bit of a missed opportunity.

      A Heart-Starting Narrative

But it is with the narrative where things start to get really odd. You see, we are dead, killed in a battle with the creatures that were transformed by Star Spores, which came to our planet and caused mayhem. All is not lost, however, as an alien bug has made its home on our head, and has started our heart and breathing again. Handy! This bug also boosts our combat abilities, making us into a super soldier, albeit one with a centipede looking thing for a face.

The question is, can we defeat the Star Spores and save the world? Well, with a bit of shooting, jumping and other abilities, of course we can!

ChainStaff on Xbox screenshotChainStaff on Xbox screenshot
      You’ll need to be inventive

      Mastering the ChainStaff

The big departure for ChainStaff is in its choice of weapons for Varl, our bug infested hero. There is a regular gun, which we can fire in any direction, and usually, this is enough to deal with the enemies. At times though, breaking out our super special weapon – the titular ChainStaff – is called for. This is an odd combination of spear and grappling hook, and is used in a variety of ways.

Charging up the ChainStaff allows us to throw it in a trajectory determined by us, and this is a great way to defeat stronger foes and attack the inevitable bosses. This is only one of its potential uses, however. It can also be used as a grappling hook, allowing us to attach to and swing on almost anything. It can be attached to the ceiling and used to swing across gaps, we can hang from a wall and attack with the gun, and we can also use it to climb walls, believe it or not.

Add in the ability to throw it into the ground to act as a shield from enemy projectiles, to use it to hold open gaps in the scenery and many more, and the uses are limited almost only by your imagination. Certainly, using the ChainStaff in novel ways is part and parcel of the boss fights, and this is a great deal of fun.

Progress through the levels ensures that there are various things to find and make use of. There are fragments of the ChainStaff, for instance, and collecting four of them will allow you power the ChainStaff up, in a variety of ways. Of course, power is always handy, but maybe you want to throw it faster? There are also parasites to be found that enable us to utilise new abilities: one adds itself to our gun, as an example, and then allows us to use a flamethrower type attack to clear vines blocking our path. Can you find them all?

      Weird, but well worth playing

      Moral Dilemmas

The last things we need to find are wounded soldiers, and here comes a choice. Will you save them, awarded tech points in the process which then allows for additional weapons and power ups? Or will you eat their hearts, which gives extra health?

The last option is to eat their brains, but be warned: if you keep eating the soldiers, the NPC’s seem to find this displeasing, and may even take action. I decided to save the majority to be on the safe side!

      Hard, Brutal, and Imaginative

ChainStaff is an interesting proposition. The gameplay is hard, brutal even, and trial and error is encouraged to see what you can do to use the ChainStaff to defeat foes. With multiple difficulty levels to go at, and a series of increasingly hard levels, mastering the traversal mechanic and the ChainStaff is vital. But also very good fun.

Ignore the rough edges and give it a go, would be my strong recommendation.

Windrose: How to Unlock and Craft Gunpowder

      0
Windrose: How to Unlock and Craft Gunpowder

Gunpowder is crucial for using firearms in Windrose, alongside a variety of bullets. You cannot shoot a firearm without gunpowder, which makes you more cautious when using the firearm in the early game. Defeating the enemies in the early biome will give you a decent amount of gunpowder, but it is not ideal for the mid and end-game. It is essential to unlock the potential to craft gunpowder by yourself to utilize your firearms to the full extent. In this guide, we will tell you how to unlock and craft Gunpowder in Windrose.

How to Unlock Gunpowder (Recipe) in Windrose

The Gunpowder recipe unlocks automatically by gathering Sulfur in the Foothills biome. It is a common resource found in the rock deposits. To get the Sulfur, you have to mine the rock deposits using at least the Iron Pickaxe. This means that before you can get Sulfur, you would have to do a lot of work, including completing the Coastal Jungle biome, mining Iron Ore in the Foothills biome, upgrading the Workbench to Level 2, and crafting the Iron Pickaxe. It will cost the following resources to craft an Iron Pickaxe.

      5x Foothills Iron Ingot

      5x Wood

Once you have the Iron Pickaxe, explore the Foothills island and look for stone deposits, particularly the ones with yellow marbling. Mine the Sulfur to unlock the Gunpowder recipe.

NOTE: Sulfur also spawns in the Coastal Jungle, but you will not be able to mine it due to a lack of an iron pickaxe.

How to Craft Gunpowder in Windrose

Unlocking the recipe for gunpowder is just the beginning before you can craft it. The next step to crafting the gunpowder is to get the “Millstones” station. To get the Millstones station, you will have to craft it, for which you have to get its recipe first. The Millstones recipe is unlocked automatically by collecting your first Corn. You can find the Corn around the Ancient Farms (POIs) in the Foothills biome. This is the same POI where you can gather the Fertile Soil to unlock the Farming. Once you have the Millstones recipe, you can craft it using the following resources.

15x Wood: Cut down the trees.

1x Millstone Parts: Craft at the Workbench (Level 2) using 15x Stone.

Now that you have the Millstones, you can finally craft the Gunpowder. Interact with the Millstones to find the “Homemade Gunpowder” recipe. Select it, and you can craft 10x Gunpowder with 10x Sulfur and 20x Ash.

TIP: You can get Ash easily by burning wood in the Charcoal Kiln.

I recommend burning any extra wood for Ash and going around the foothills island to farm Sulfur. This way, you will have plenty of resources to craft Gunpowder.

Bitget IPO Prime Raises $72M, Oversubscribed Within Hours

Bitget IPO Prime Raises M, Oversubscribed Within Hours

      Key Highlights

The IPO Prime campaign raised $72.36 million in a few hours and became oversubscribed quickly.

About 4,812 users joined, with high average investments of around $15K–$16K per person, meaning big capital per user.

The platform will switch to instant spot trading after closing on April 21, aiming to improve liquidity and faster access to funds.

Bitget, a crypto exchange, launched its IPO Prime campaign today, and it quickly pulled in $72.36 million within just a few hours.

In a post on X, CEO Gracy Chen said a total of 4,812 people joined the sale on the platform, with strong interest from users around the world. The offer reportedly became oversubscribed very fast, with more people wanting to invest than the available slots.

“Just a few hours after our IPO Prime launch, the campaign has raised $72.36 million and is already oversubscribed.” Chen posted on X.

Fast money rush in hours due to high demand

The campaign drew strong interest due to limited slots, structured rewards, and early access opportunities, with funds flowing in rapidly as the sale opened.

In just 1 hour and 30 minutes, the campaign had already raised $61.1 million and filled its soft cap. At that early stage, about 3,769 users had joined, which later increased

The average amount invested by each person was between $15,000 and $16,255, meaning users were not just testing with small amounts but putting in serious funds.

“Witness the first IPO spectacle in the crypto circle: raised $61.1 million in 1 hour and 30 minutes.” a post about the launch said.

In a blogpost, Bitget also shared an update about how trading will work after the sale. The IPO Prime event is set to close at 8:00 PM (GMT+8) on April 21. Right after it ends, spot trading will start immediately.

At first, the plan was to use over-the-counter trading, but this was changed. The platform explained that instant spot trading will help increase liquidity and make it easier for users to access and use their funds without delay.

      Extra rewards for participants

Alongside the main sale, Bitget introduced extra benefits for users who take part. From April 18 to April 21, participants can earn up to 6% APR on flexible USDT savings.

This means users can earn small returns while holding their funds during the event period. Subscription for this savings product will open on April 20

There is also a reward pool of 500 TSLAON tokens that will be shared among users who increase their stablecoin balance to a certain level. New VIP users are also included, with offers like a 3% USDT savings coupon and access to higher-yield products with rates up to 10% APR.

      BGB drop despite the news

On the market side, Bitget’s native token BGB doesn’t seem to react much to the new. In fact, it’s doing the opposite.

Bitget token price chat | Source: CoinMarketCap

At press time, the token is trading for $1.85, representing a 2.65% drop in the last 24 hours. However, trading activity is up by 39% during this period reaching about $35.69 million in volume, while the market cap sits at $1.29 billion.

Madonna Makes Coachella Comeback After 10 Years And Drops New Single

Madonna Makes Coachella Comeback After 10 Years And Drops New Single

Madonna returned to Coachella for the first time in over a decade, taking the stage as a surprise guest during Sabrina Carpenter‘s headlining set for the second weekend of the music festival. The unexpected appearance drew a strong reaction from the crowd, reigniting excitement about the pop legend’s enduring stage presence and offering a glimpse of what to expect from her upcoming album.

Maddona Performed Three Songs With Sabrina Carpenter

On April 17, Sabrina Carpenter had a major surprise for fans during her headlining performance of weekend two at Coachella. Midway through her song “Juno,” the music transitions to Maddona’s 1990 hit song “Vogue,” and the Queen of Pop emerged from the stage.

The two singers then performed a duet believed to be from Madonna’s upcoming album, on which Carpenter is reportedly featured. After the song, Madonna expressed her gratitude to Carpenter for inviting her to perform at Coachella, to which the latter replied, “No thanks needed, Madonna. You can have whatever you want.” Madonna then engaged with the audience for a few minutes before performing the iconic song, “Like a Prayer,” which was released in 1989.

After Madonna’s appearance, Carpenter sang three more songs before ending her set.

The Queen Of Pop’s ‘Full Circle Moment’

While talking to the audience, Madonna shared how special the moment was for her, as it had been 20 years since her first performance at Coachella. “So 20 years ago today, I performed at Coachella. I was in the dance tent, and it was the first time I performed ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor Pt. 1’ in America,” she shared, referring to her 10th studio album released in November 2005.

“You can imagine what a thrill it is for me to be back 20 years later in the same boots, the same corset, the jacket I had on earlier, the same Gucci jacket. So it’s like a full circle moment, very meaningful for me,” said Madonna.

In 2015, the singer performed as a guest at Drake’s Coachella set, sparking a viral moment when the iconic singer kissed the Canadian rapper. This year marks Madonna’s third appearance at the music festival.

        Madonna Talked About Astrology

        KCS Presse / MEGA

Madonna has had a long-standing interest in astrology and even reportedly uses it as a guide when collaborating with other people. In 2023, TV producer Ryan Murphy said he lied to Madonna about his birthday on someone’s advice, after being told the singer doesn’t work with Scorpios, which was his zodiac sign. He ended up telling Madonna his mother’s birthday instead, and he was hired.

At Coachella, Madonna pointed out “the new moon of Taurus,” which Carpenter explained, saying, “She’s pointing to me because I’m a Taurus. Just so you guys know.” Madonna then proceeded with a “quick course in astrology,” sharing that people need to work on their communication skills and “avoid confrontations.”

“Because Aries is ruled by the planet Mars. Mars is the planet of war. So, in all circumstances for the rest of the month, let’s try to get along, okay?” she explained, before saying that music brings people together.

The Queen Of Pop Released Her New Single

A few days before her Coachella appearance, Madonna teased a new single, “I Feel So Free,” from her new album, giving fans a minute-long tease of the track, which was uploaded on her YouTube channel. On March 17, the full song debuted on the LGBTQ+ station Pride Radio, as reported by NME.

Several hours following her Coachella performance, Madonna released the full track on her YouTube channel. The pop icon’s fans were delighted, with one commenting, “I’M SO GLAD I EXIST AT THE SAME TIME AND SPACE AS MADONNA,” and another adding, “WE’RE SO F-CKING READY FOR THIS NEW ERA!”

Many gave the song positive feedback. As one noted, “The song is totally hypnotic. The sound is insane — it goes hard. the bassline is crazy,” followed by four mind-blown emojis. “Chaotic trance and 90’s vibe… clear vocals and high bass… very attractive dance song… pure Madonna,” another commented.

Madonna’s New Album Is A Sequel To ‘Confessions’

Madonna’s upcoming album, “Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part II,” is a sequel to her 2005 album, which featured hits such as “Hung Up,” “Sorry,” “Get Together,” and “Jump.” The new album has the singer reuniting with producer Stuart Price and is described as a high-energy, “spiritual” dance record.

“We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies. These are things that we’ve been doing for thousands of years — they really are spiritual practices. After all, the dance floor is a ritualistic space,” Madonna said in a press release.

“Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part II” will be released on July 3.

Polygon Price Prediction April 2026: Will POL Break $0.30 Before the CLARITY Act Vote? – NFT Plazas

          0
Polygon Price Prediction April 2026: Will POL Break alt=

As of April 18, 2026, Polygon (POL) is trading around $0.09, up roughly 6.4% over the past week. The rebound is modest, but it comes at a critical moment. Beneath the surface, Polygon’s fundamentals are strengthening, driven by the rollout of sPOL and continued progress on the AggLayer, yet price action remains compressed within a long-term bearish structure. With the CLARITY Act markup expected in late April and a key FOMC decision days later, the next two weeks may define whether POL transitions into a breakout phase or slips back toward its lows.

Technical Analysis: A Compression Ready to Resolve

From a structural standpoint, POL is trading inside a multi-month falling wedge, a pattern typically associated with trend exhaustion. Price has been making lower highs and lower lows since late 2024, but the range is tightening, often a precursor to expansion.

What matters now is not the pattern itself, but where it resolves.

          Key Levels to Watch

Support Zone: $0.081–$0.086This range has repeatedly absorbed selling pressure throughout early 2026. It represents the last line of defense for bulls. A decisive break below $0.080 would invalidate the wedge and likely trigger a deeper move toward $0.05.Immediate Resistance: $0.120This is the upper boundary of the wedge and the most important level on the chart right now. A daily close above $0.12, supported by volume would mark the first credible signal of a trend reversal.Mid-Range Pivot: $0.17–$0.21Even if POL breaks out, this zone remains a heavy supply area. It’s where prior distribution occurred, and where many trapped holders may look to exit. The $0.30 Threshold:Reaching $0.30 is not just a technical move – it requires flipping $0.21 into support and breaking through a dense cluster of sell-side liquidity between $0.21 and $0.29.

In short, $0.12 is the trigger, $0.21 is the test, and $0.30 is the stretch target.

The Catalysts: Why Late April Is Pivotal

POL is not moving in isolation. Its next major move will likely be dictated by a convergence of regulation, macro liquidity, and internal ecosystem growth.

          The CLARITY Act Markup

The Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act is emerging as a defining regulatory moment for the U.S. crypto market. A markup from the Senate Banking Committee could arrive as early as late April, but delays remain a real risk.

At the center of the debate is a contentious issue: whether stablecoins should be allowed to generate yield on idle balances.

Traditional banks argue that allowing yield could drain deposits from the financial systemCrypto firms counter that restrictions would stifle innovation and limit adoption

For Polygon, the implications are direct. As a network increasingly positioned around payments, DeFi, and real-world assets, regulatory clarity could unlock institutional participation. Progress on the bill would likely act as a tailwind, not just for POL, but for the entire Layer 2 narrative.

Conversely, another delay could reinforce uncertainty and suppress momentum at a critical technical juncture.

          FOMC Meeting (April 28–29)

Macro remains the silent driver behind all risk assets.

Markets are currently leaning toward a hawkish pause, with inflation still hovering slightly above target. That leaves two possible outcomes:

Dovish shift: Signals of future rate cuts could inject liquidity into markets, fueling a broader altcoin rallyContinued caution: A firm stance from the Fed could limit upside and keep capital sidelined

For POL, which sits firmly in the mid-cap altcoin category, liquidity conditions matter as much as fundamentals.

          AggLayer Expansion and sPOL Activation

While macro and regulation dominate headlines, Polygon’s internal developments are quietly building a stronger foundation.

The launch of sPOL (liquid staking) in mid-April unlocked approximately $330 million in previously illiquid capital. This changes the equation:

Staked POL can now be used across DeFiCapital efficiency improvesPotential TVL growth increases network activity

At the same time, the broader AggLayer vision continues to take shape, aiming to unify fragmented liquidity across chains. Combined with the “Gigagas” roadmap targeting 100,000+ TPS, Polygon is positioning itself as a scalable settlement layer for payments and tokenized assets.

These are not short-term catalysts, but they strengthen the case for a delayed but powerful repricing.

          Two Scenarios: Breakout vs. Breakdown

With price compressed and catalysts approaching, the market is setting up for a binary outcome.

          Bull Case: Expansion Toward $0.30+

In the bullish scenario, multiple factors align:

CLARITY Act momentum improves sentimentThe Fed signals easing or future cutsPOL breaks above $0.12 with conviction

From there, the structure unfolds in stages:

$0.12 breakout confirms reversalPrice pushes into $0.17–$0.21 supply zoneA successful flip of $0.21 triggers momentum expansionMarket reprices toward $0.29–$0.32, with potential extension toward $0.40+ in a high-liquidity environment

This path likely requires short covering, narrative rotation into L2s, and sustained volume inflows. It is achievable, but demands near-perfect alignment across technical, macro, and regulatory factors.

This bullish structure could drive price toward targets at $0.12, $0.17, $0.21, $0.29, and $0.41This bullish structure could drive price toward targets at $0.12, $0.17, $0.21, $0.29, and $0.41

This bullish structure could drive price toward targets at $0.12, $0.17, $0.21, $0.29, and $0.41

          Bear Case: Continuation Toward $0.06–$0.08

The bearish scenario is more straightforward, and arguably more consistent with current structure.

Price fails to break $0.12Lower highs remain intactMacro conditions stay restrictiveRegulatory uncertainty persists

A breakdown below $0.086 would likely trigger:

Retest of $0.08 supportPotential move toward $0.06 if selling accelerates

There is also a structural headwind: POL’s ~2% annual emission rate, which introduces continuous sell pressure. Without a strong demand catalyst, this supply dynamic can cap upside and weigh on price.

In this environment, even positive developments like sPOL risk being interpreted not as demand drivers, but as additional circulating supply.

Can POL Realistically Break $0.30 Before the Vote?

The answer lies in distinguishing possibility from probability.

Possible? Yes. A 3x move from current levels is not unprecedented in crypto, especially during periods of narrative-driven momentum.Probable in the next two weeks? Less so.

To reach $0.30 in such a short timeframe, POL would need:

A confirmed technical breakoutFavorable macro conditionsPositive regulatory signalsStrong follow-through volume

          That combination is rare.

More realistically, the market is likely to test $0.12 and $0.17 first, with $0.21 acting as the true inflection point. Only after clearing those levels does $0.30 come into play as a credible near-term target.

          Conclusion

Polygon is approaching a decisive moment where technical compression meets macro and regulatory catalysts.

          The setup is clear:

Above $0.12: momentum begins to buildAbove $0.21: structure shifts decisively bullishBelow $0.086: downside risk accelerates

While the long-term thesis for Polygon continues to strengthen, driven by scalability, capital efficiency, and ecosystem growth, the short-term price trajectory remains dependent on forces beyond the network itself.

Whether POL breaks $0.30 before the CLARITY Act vote will depend less on technology and more on timing – of policy, liquidity, and market conviction.

OpenAI’s New AI Model Rosalind Could Shave Years Off Drug Discovery. You Probably Can’t Use It – Decrypt

          In brief

OpenAI unveiled GPT-Rosalind to accelerate drug discovery workflows.
Benchmarks show strong gains, but real-world impact remains constrained .
Access is tightly restricted amid rising biosecurity concerns.

OpenAI just named its first domain-specific AI model after Rosalind Franklin—the British chemist whose X-ray crystallography work helped reveal DNA’s double helix, and who was famously denied credit for it during her lifetime.

GPT-Rosalind, unveiled Thursday, is a purpose-built reasoning model for biology, drug discovery, and translational medicine. It’s the first in what OpenAI is calling a Life Sciences model series—a direct play for a market where many specialized labs from universities to Google DeepMind are all jostling for position.

Getting a drug from target discovery to regulatory approval in the U.S. takes 10 to 15 years on average according to experts.. Most of that time disappears not in eureka moments, but in the grind: parsing thousands of papers, querying databases, designing reagents, and interpreting ambiguous results. This is what GPT-Rosaling is trying to tackle.

OpenAI argues the model can compress that early-stage work. As the company put it, GPT-Rosalind is designed to help scientists “explore more possibilities, surface connections that might otherwise be missed, and arrive at better hypotheses sooner.”

The benchmarks back up at least some of that ambition. On BixBench—a benchmark built around real-world bioinformatics tasks—GPT-Rosalind logged a 0.751 pass rate, the top score among models with published results. On LABBench2, it outperformed its predecessor GPT-5.4 on six out of eleven tasks.

GPT-Rosalind Beats GPT 5.4 in every single case involving life science, but it’s a highly specific model that will underperform in anything other than that.

OpenAI also announced Dyno Therapeutics will help test and evaluate its model based on unpublished RNA sequences to rule out memorization. GPT-Rosalind’s best-of-ten submissions ranked above the 95th percentile of human experts on sequence prediction tasks, and around the 84th percentile on generation.

That said, OpenAI’s own life sciences research lead Joy Jiao was measured about what the model can actually do. She explained the company doesn’t see Rosalind as a model capable of creating new treatments autonomously, but told reporters that it could be a great help in speeding research up. “We do think there’s a real opportunity to help researchers move faster through some of the most complex and time-intensive parts of the scientific process,” Jiao said in a press briefing, according to the LA Times.

The ecosystem around the model may matter as much as the model itself. OpenAI is also releasing a free Life Sciences research plugin for Codex connecting to over 50 scientific databases and tools—protein structure lookups, sequence search, literature review, genomics pipelines. Enterprise users with GPT-Rosalind access get the reasoning layer on top. Everyone else gets the plugin with standard models.

OpenAI has lined up a roster of pharma and biotech customers for the launch, including Amgen, Moderna, and Thermo Fisher Scientific. Separately, it’s running a research collaboration with Los Alamos National Laboratory on AI-guided protein and catalyst design.

“The life sciences field demands precision at every step. The questions are highly complex, the data are highly unique, and the stakes are incredibly high,” said Sean Bruich, Amgen’s Senior VP of AI and Data in the official announcement.

Access to Rosalind is deliberately restricted. The model is U.S. enterprise only, gated behind a qualification and safety review. The concern isn’t abstract: an international coalition of over 100 scientists has already called for tighter controls on biological data used to train AI, citing pathogen design risks. OpenAI’s restricted rollout is a direct response. During the research preview, usage won’t consume existing API credits.

This also isn’t OpenAI’s first move into science workflows. The Prism scientific writing workspace launched in January was a first step. GPT-Rosalind is the sharper, more specialized follow-up—and a signal that domain-specific models are becoming a serious competitive front.

No fully AI-discovered drug has cleared phase 3 trials. That number is still zero. But if GPT-Rosalind helps a researcher design a better experiment six months faster across thousands of labs, then the compounding effect on what gets discovered, and when, could be the whole ballgame. That’s the actual thesis here, and it’s worth watching closely.

Long Before Friendslop, Portal 2 Made Co-Op Cool

April 18, 2026 marks the 15-year anniversary of Portal 2’s release. Below, we reminisce about its memorable story, novel cooperative two-player mode, and enduring comedy.

There was a time in the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 era when Valve was spoiling us with games, packaging some excellent titles in The Orange Box and bringing us back-to-back Left 4 Dead entries. But the company hit a stride with the 2011 release of Portal 2, which might be its finest accomplishment of that generation.

Following up from 2007’s Portal, Valve would still have had a hit if it had only made and released the single-player campaign, but the developers went the extra mile with the addition of a full-fledged co-op campaign–which itself would have been an equally worthy sequel to Portal on its own, and in retrospect, was a harbinger for cooperative and social games trending today.
