Fortune Tiger / Fortune Ox –

CGV Research Releases New Report Highlighting How Prediction Markets Will Redefine Sports Betting

In Brief

CGV Research’s new report reveals how decentralized prediction markets are transforming sports betting, fan engagement, and real-time price discovery across global sports.

CGV Research Releases New Report Highlighting How Prediction Markets Will Redefine Sports Betting

Cryptogram Venture or CGV Research, a firm specializing in cryptocurrency and blockchain analysis, recently published a report examining the evolving intersection of sports and financial markets. The report emphasizes that beyond the visible excitement of stadiums, a parallel activity has emerged in the marketplace, where betting, trading, and price movements reflect the aggregated judgments and emotions of millions globally. Traditional sports betting, the report notes, faces trust challenges: odds are determined by bookmakers, regulations are often opaque, and issues such as match-fixing and corruption persist.

Prediction markets, by contrast, are reshaping the logic of sports wagering through decentralization, transparency, and real-time pricing. In these systems, game outcomes are valued by the collective input of participants, and odds are derived from market consensus, effectively reframing “betting” as a form of prediction.

The report highlights the evolution of sports prediction markets from mere entertainment to mechanisms that encode collective judgment. Rather than simply placing bets for excitement, participants now contribute to market prices that capture informed consensus, transforming sports contests into arenas where outcomes are assessed and quantified by the crowd, blending entertainment with analytical participation.

From Bookmakers To Crowd Consensus: How Prediction Markets Transform Sports Forecasting

In conventional sports betting, odds are determined by bookmakers, who act as both rule-makers and participants, creating a structural imbalance of information and incentives. Prediction markets, by contrast, fundamentally change this dynamic. On platforms like Polymarket, anyone can create a market for a sports event, such as “Will Manchester City win the Premier League?” Initial prices may reflect a 50% probability, but as traders contribute capital and new information emerges, prices adjust dynamically in real time. In this system, odds are no longer controlled by a single entity; instead, prices emerge as a consensus among participants, reflecting the collective judgment of the market. The larger and more informed the participant base, the closer prices approximate the actual probability of an outcome. This structure transforms traditional betting into a transparent, information-driven process where traders can effectively “bet against the bookmaker” if their insights are more accurate.

Unlike conventional betting, prediction markets allow for continuous trading during matches. Real-time game developments are quickly incorporated into prices, often reflecting the unfolding situation faster than live broadcasts. For example, during UEFA Euro 2024, Polymarket launched 42 core markets with a total trading volume of $28 million. Spain’s market performance illustrates the system: its pre-tournament price of 0.12 rose to 0.55 after a quarter-final victory, 0.72 twenty-four hours before the final as the market digested injury and tactical updates, and finally reached 1.00 after winning the championship. Compared to fixed odds on traditional platforms, Polymarket reflected key information, including player form, weather, and social sentiment, significantly earlier. This demonstrates that prediction markets are less about luck and more about aggregating and pricing information.

The value of prediction markets lies in information transparency. Whereas traditional betting relies on information asymmetry to benefit bookmakers, decentralized markets treat information as a tradable asset. News, injury reports, social media sentiment, and other data sources are instantly translated into price signals, incentivizing high-quality data sharing. The bookmaker’s role is largely eliminated, with orders matched and settled on-chain without centralized risk control. Community-driven governance determines event creation, dispute resolution, and reward distribution, creating a decentralized ecosystem where accurate information is rewarded.

A similar pattern emerged during the 2024 NBA MVP Prediction Market, launched in partnership with Flipside Crypto. This market combined on-chain data, such as nonfungible token (NFT) trading volumes, with off-chain inputs like Twitter sentiment, injury reports, and schedule analysis. Nikola Jokić’s MVP probability began at 0.28 and rose to 0.65 after the All-Star break, reflecting improved performance and fewer injuries, before climbing to 0.89 by the end of the regular season. The price ultimately reached 1.00, accurately predicting Jokić’s third MVP six weeks before traditional media consensus. This example highlights the predictive power achieved by integrating crowd-sourced insights with on-chain and off-chain data, reinforcing the idea that sports prediction markets operate as decentralized, information-based ecosystems rather than simple games of chance.

From Spectators To Stakeholders: How On-Chain Prediction Markets Are Redefining Fan Economy

Prediction markets are introducing a new dimension to sports engagement by enabling what can be described as the “financialization of viewer participation.” Traditionally, fans were limited to passive consumption—watching games, following commentary, and purchasing merchandise—but prediction markets allow viewers to actively participate in assessing outcomes while potentially earning economic returns. This shift transforms the fan economy from a “watch and consume” model to one centered on “predict and participate,” where fans effectively become market participants rather than observers. Revenue structures are also redefined: instead of exclusivity-driven profits dominated by leagues or broadcasters, earnings are distributed among participants, creating shared incentives. Interaction evolves beyond conventional comments and polls, encompassing active trading, market-making, and arbitrage, while real-time price movements provide immediate feedback on fan sentiment, cognitive shifts, and market consensus.

According to Polymarket data, 68% of sports users identify as “hardcore fans,” highlighting the platform’s ability to deepen community engagement and promote viral adoption. This trend signals the emergence of a “Play-to-Predict” era, where fans move from passive spectators to active, virtual participants. For major leagues such as the NFL, Premier League, and LPL, adopting prediction markets represents not merely a trend but a strategic business opportunity. It creates unprecedented user engagement, converting viewers into stakeholders and amplifying both stickiness and public interest. Market prices themselves act as highly responsive tools for gauging fan sentiment, evaluating player popularity, and testing new rules, offering far more immediate insights than traditional surveys. Furthermore, prediction markets open new commercial channels through official licensing, API partnerships, and transaction fee sharing, providing digital-native revenue streams independent of conventional broadcasting or ticket sales.

A practical example of this evolution occurred during the 2025 “League of Legends” S15 World Championship. On November 2nd, Polymarket and Azuro launched a fully on-chain prediction ecosystem for the event, marking the first global implementation of multi-layered on-chain prediction trading for esports. At a macro level, markets such as “Will T1 win the championship?” reached $18.7 million in trading volume and achieved automatic on-chain settlement in under three seconds. Micro-level markets, like “Who gets the next Dragon?” averaged $420,000 per wave with continuous real-time updates. Player-specific markets, such as “Will Faker’s KDA exceed 10 this game?” saw $1.2 million in volume, settled efficiently through API integration. This event demonstrated the deep integration of esports with blockchain-based prediction markets, creating a transparent, real-time, globally participatory ecosystem for sports forecasting.

Sports Prediction Markets Evolve Toward On-Chain Transparency Amid Regulatory Uncertainty

According to CGV Research, regulation remains a challenge for sports prediction markets, similar to the evolving issues faced by the news industry. In the United States, there is still no unified definition of “event contracts” across bodies such as the CFTC and state gambling commissions, creating a regulatory gray area. Additional risks arise from the potential for manipulation, as player actions could theoretically be influenced to affect market prices. Ambiguities in settlement standards—for example, questions like whether a player actually appeared in a game—can also trigger disputes with oracles. Potential approaches to address these challenges include multi-layered oracle verification systems, such as combining Chainlink with UMA, reputation staking mechanisms to discourage manipulation, and AI-driven anomaly detection to identify suspicious trading patterns or unexpected outcomes. The overarching aim of these systems is to position prediction markets as a transparent and verifiable “on-chain referee” for sports.

Looking ahead, the next few years could bring shifts in the sports ecosystem. Mainstream media outlets may increasingly integrate on-chain odds into coverage, normalizing prediction data as a standard part of reporting. Traditional betting platforms, including DraftKings, are exploring on-chain settlement mechanisms, indicating a gradual migration toward decentralized systems. AI-powered market-making agents may provide continuous liquidity, ensuring prices more accurately reflect real-time developments. Additionally, major sports leagues, such as the NBA and Premier League, may introduce prediction index tokens, contributing to the formation of a decentralized sports exchange-traded fund (ETF) ecosystem. In this evolving landscape, sports engagement would extend beyond entertainment, transforming into a collective intelligence experiment where outcomes, market consensus, and trust are continuously reflected and reinforced through real-time pricing, long after the final whistle.

A “Robotic Eye” That Sees Better Than Humans Has Been Developed

A critical step has been taken for flexible optical systems. The newly discovered hydrogel-powered lens absorbs light thanks to the graphene oxide in its structure, causing it to swell or shrink. This innovation could aid in surgeries with its ability to see microscopic details.

The field of soft robotics, made from flexible materials like rubber, silicone, or gel, aims to work collaboratively with humans, unlike traditional metal robots. These robots generally possess high maneuverability and are free of electronic components. Now, researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology are bringing brand-new capabilities to this field with a powerful “robotic eye.”

Researchers have developed a flexible lens made of hydrogels that does not require an external power source to operate. This robotic lens possesses extraordinary visual acuity, capable of seeing even the smallest details, such as the hairs on an ant’s leg. The researchers named this new type of lens the Photoreactive Hydrogel Soft Lens (PHySL).

The team, which published its findings in the journal Science Robotics under the title “Bio-inspired photoreactive soft robotic lens,” believes PHySL is a promising invention for the future. This lens could find a wide range of applications, from seeing soft robots to adaptive medical tools and smart wearable devices. In situations where the human eye is unreliable or misses details, this lens can fill in the gaps.

The difficulty in making a soft robotic lens stemmed from the fact that human vision relies on flexible, adaptive optical systems. Therefore, it was challenging to create materials that were both high-performance and biocompatible. However, this new material solves a significant part of the problem by using a special hydrogel that reacts to light. This allows it to change focus without needing electrical or mechanical parts.

PHySL can change its focus depending on the incoming light. To bring this innovation to life, the research team placed a hydrogel ring around a silicone polymer lens. The graphene oxide inside the hydrogel absorbs light, causing the gel ring to swell or shrink. During this change, the lens’s shape and focus shift, enabling it to see even the tiniest details clearly.

The researchers are taking this technology even further. They integrated PHySL into a hydrogel microfluidic system with a valve system to harness the power of light. Thus, the light the lens already uses now also powers an autonomous camera system.

How Will It Benefit Us?

This powerful lens could make significant contributions to the field of soft robotics. Soft robots are already used in the medical field, such as in physical therapy and surgery. The lens’s flexible structure, thanks to its ultra-detailed vision, makes it a perfect tool to work alongside surgeons, assisting in extremely complex surgical procedures. Additionally, soft robots working in search and rescue operations could certainly benefit from this lens, which has better vision capabilities than the human eye, to find survivors.

PHySL is expected to make significant improvements in other areas where soft robots are integrated. Soft robots assist crops in fields, assemble products in manufacturing environments, and explore ocean depths where it is unsafe for humans to go. This lens could even support scientific research by examining how life survives in the sunless environments of the deepest parts of the ocean.

Researchers also anticipate that PHySL can be used in laboratory settings. This hydrogel lens could replace traditional microscope lenses. Thanks to its extremely powerful focusing capabilities, it allows for the detailed viewing of objects as small as four micrometers.

Are Spacecraft That Work for Centuries Possible?

Next-generation RTG technology featuring Americium-241 is paving the way for deep space vehicles that can operate for centuries. Moreover, Americium-241 can be sourced sustainably.

Behind the missions that have reached the farthest points of space made by humans lies a small but critical technology that has been working silently for years: radioisotope thermoelectric generators (RTGs). These power sources enable spacecraft like Voyager 1 and Voyager 2, launched in 1977, to still send signals to Earth. The Plutonium-238 used at that time continues to provide uninterrupted energy to the spacecraft for nearly half a century. However, the energy produced is now in its final stages. This means the 48-year-old spacecraft, and naturally humanity’s furthest symbols, will fall silent. It is predicted that the spacecraft will be able to produce enough energy to communicate with us until 2036. But scientists are working on a much longer-lasting fuel: Americium. This fuel could power missions not just for decades, but for centuries.

Americium, expected to shape future deep space missions, stands out not only for its promise of longevity but also for providing strategic independence. The production of Plutonium-238 is limited and expensive. Moreover, access to the source outside the US is difficult. In contrast, Americium-241 is an isotope that naturally accumulates in nuclear waste. This makes it easier to find resources for deep and long-lasting space missions. The presence of large quantities of Americium-241 in civilian nuclear waste stockpiles, especially in the United Kingdom, turns this fuel into a strategic opportunity for Europe.

Nuclear Power is an Indispensable Option

Nuclear power is currently an indispensable option for missions outside the Solar System. As is known, solar panels are predominantly used for energy in spacecraft within the Solar System. However, in regions beyond Jupiter, RTGs are essential. The main reason for this is the difficulty of harnessing sunlight at such distances. It’s not impossible, of course, but it is logistically close to impossible. For example, if the Voyager spacecraft had used solar panels, they would have needed massive panels, each larger than a football field. RTGs, however, are about the size of a trash can. These generators operate thanks to Thermocouples, which convert the heat produced by the radioactive fuel into an electric current. Since there are no moving parts, the risk of failure is negligible. Thanks to the 88-year half-life of Plutonium-238, each of Voyager’s RTGs produced about 470 watts in the early years. Today, this power is just over 200 watts. It is sufficient for the vehicle’s critical systems for now, but eventually, the critical systems will also fail to be powered.

On the other hand, Plutonium wasn’t just used in Voyager. It was also used in the satellites and vehicles left on the Moon during the Apollo missions. Later, RTGs were also included in vehicles going to Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto. For example, Cassini, which orbited Saturn from 2004 to 2017, used 33 kilograms of Plutonium-238. However, there is a critical problem with plutonium. And it is very difficult to solve. This is because Plutonium-238 is not found naturally. It must be produced in nuclear reactors.

The stockpiles produced during the Cold War have been depleted, and it took the US many years to resume new production. Since NASA requires kilograms of plutonium for each deep space mission, current production is not sustainable in the long term. In 2012, Curiosity’s RTG took a significant portion of the last major reserves. The sustainability problem stems from the annual production being limited to a few hundred grams. Considering that kilograms are needed for deep space missions, it is clear that relying on this fuel is no longer logical.

This is precisely where americium comes into play. First produced in 1944 during the Manhattan Project, americium is one of the lesser-known synthetic elements. The half-life of Americium-241, which is attractive for space, is 432 years. This is five times that of Plutonium-238.

This means a new generation of vehicles drifting into interstellar space, continuing to operate for centuries. Furthermore, the fact that new reactors are not required for production reduces costs and offers a significant environmental advantage. This is because Americium-241 forms naturally within nuclear waste, meaning it accumulates over time. Therefore, it is possible to find quite high amounts of Americium-241 on Earth.

Not Everything is Perfect

Plutonium-238 is still indisputably considered the most efficient fuel for high-power missions. This isotope, producing about 0.5 watts of heat per gram, is also chemically extremely stable. In contrast, Americium-241 can only provide about 0.1 watts of heat at the same mass. Because of this difference, an americium-based RTG needs to be heavier and bulkier to produce power equivalent to plutonium. This is a serious disadvantage, considering every gram is critical in space missions. However, the low power output of americium offers an ideal advantage for long-life missions with low energy requirements.

While plutonium will continue to be the fuel for powerful and compact systems, americium stands out as a suitable option for smaller-scale vehicles that operate at lower temperatures and will last for centuries.

The First Spacecraft Are Not Far Off

Europe is already conducting concrete work on americium-based power systems. The University of Leicester, in collaboration with ESA and the UK Space Agency, has been developing both full-scale RTGs and small heater units to protect hardware in extremely cold environments for over a decade. This technology could be used in many low-power missions, from long-term probes studying the internal structure of icy moons to devices drifting for centuries into interstellar space. This fuel is expected to play a role in future projects like the Rosalind Franklin Mars mission. NASA’s conceptual Interstellar Probe project is also among the missions that will require the very long-lasting energy that americium can provide. Even in manned Mars missions, americium is planned to provide support as a stable heat source during the multi-year journey.

The low power density of americium increases the importance of more efficient conversion technologies. At this point, scientists are concentrating on the Stirling engine, which has been known for a long time but could open a new door for space missions. While thermoelectrics used in traditional RTGs offer only about 5% efficiency, Stirling converters can achieve electricity production efficiency of over 25%. This means much more energy can be obtained from the same amount of fuel. Although the presence of moving parts raises reliability concerns, the stable heat output of americium paves the way for systems where multiple Stirling units operate in parallel, distributing the risk of failure.

Although americium-based RTGs have not yet been tested in space, laboratory tests are promising. As this technology matures, deep space exploration may cease to be the monopoly of just a few countries. Plutonium for high power and americium for long-term exploration could become two complementary parts of the same ecosystem. An interesting irony is that this long-lasting space fuel, developed in laboratories, also appears in our daily lives. The small radioactive source used in ionizing smoke detectors is Americium-241 itself.

Flying Tulip: Andre Cronje’s Full-Stack DeFi Ecosystem Explained | NFT News Today

Flying Tulip has quickly become one of the most talked-about projects in decentralized finance. The initiative brings Andre Cronje back into the spotlight with a vision that blends advanced on-chain trading, a capital-efficient stablecoin, a cross-margin engine, and a principal-protected token sale—an unusual mix that’s sparked serious curiosity. This guide walks through what Flying Tulip offers, how its token sale works, and why so many investors and developers are paying attention as the ecosystem approaches its next major milestone.

Background and Origin

A Project Led by Andre Cronje

Andre Cronje’s name carries weight across DeFi. His earlier work on Yearn Finance, Keep3r, and the Sonic ecosystem laid groundwork for automated yield strategies, incentive design, and on-chain productivity. Flying Tulip continues that tradition with a more integrated approach.

Cronje’s involvement signals two things. First, the team deeply understands DeFi’s pain points. Second, Flying Tulip aims for practicality instead of hype. Engineers and advisors from DWF Labs, CoinFund, Hypersphere, Nascent, and more strengthen that direction with risk expertise and capital efficiency research.

Why Flying Tulip Exists

DeFi today suffers from fragmentation. Traders move between spot exchanges, perpetuals platforms, money markets, structured vaults, and insurance protocols. Each uses its own pricing assumptions and risk models. That’s inefficient.

Flying Tulip attempts to unify these functions under one cross-margin system. Instead of juggling multiple protocols and margin accounts, users interact with a streamlined financial engine that prices risk consistently across products.

This approach mirrors mature markets like equities and derivatives, where unified risk engines handle a wide range of positions. DeFi has long needed a similar foundation.

Core Innovations

A Full-Stack On-Chain Financial System

Flying Tulip presses forward with a suite of interconnected features, including:

Spot trading

Perpetual futures

Margin-aware lending

Options and structured yield

A stablecoin with built-in protection

Insurance functions backed by protocol revenue

These components share the same collateral and pricing system, letting users move capital freely between products without siloed pools.

Hybrid AMM + Order Book Engine

The trading engine combines automated market making with an order book. This hybrid design gives market makers flexibility, preserves liquidity during volatile periods, and supplies traders with tighter spreads. It’s a step beyond pure AMM designs used by many decentralized exchanges because it accounts for volatility, leverage, and cross-asset correlations.

ftUSD: The Delta-Neutral Stablecoin

ftUSD sits at the center of the ecosystem. It maintains its value through hedged positions and low-risk yield strategies. The stablecoin gives traders more efficient leverage while supplying collateral to the redemption mechanism that backs Flying Tulip’s token sale. Its insurance component protects ftUSD’s peg through systematic risk offsets.

Cross-Chain Deposits Without Traditional Bridges

Deposits flow from multiple blockchains, including Ethereum, Avalanche, Sonic, BSC, Base, and Solana. Instead of relying on a conventional bridging setup, Flying Tulip routes deposits with a different architecture anchored to Sonic, Cronje’s L2.

This approach reduces exposure to vulnerabilities that hit the industry in previous cycles. Major bridge failures cost billions, so developers leaned heavily into on-chain safety this time.

On-Chain Principal Protection

One of Flying Tulip’s most unusual features is its perpetual put-option redemption. Token buyers can burn their FT tokens at any point to reclaim their original deposit.

Refunds don’t rely on new money. Instead, Flying Tulip invests the raised capital into low-risk yield strategies—such as deposits on Aave—to cover redemptions. This aligns the team’s incentives with protocol performance, because revenue triggers buybacks rather than token unlocks.

That structure attracted significant investor attention because it blends safety with upside potential rarely found in crypto fundraising.

Ecosystem Impact and Sonic Integration

Sonic as the Execution Layer

Flying Tulip runs on Sonic, a high-performance layer-2 designed with predictable fees and fast settlement. Since Cronje helped architect Sonic, both ecosystems benefit from tight integration. Flying Tulip adds liquidity and activity, while Sonic provides a smooth environment for advanced financial primitives.

Impact on DeFi in 2025

By late 2025, “protected extraction” models became a trend. Investors wanted a way to participate in token launches without exposing themselves to heavy downside. Traditional ICO models showed their limits during bear markets, so protocols began prioritizing safety.

Flying Tulip sits at the center of that movement. Many analysts see it as the most mature example of the principal-protected design because it ties system incentives directly to revenue.

Funding History

Seed Round and Investors

On September 29, 2025, Flying Tulip raised $200M at a $1B pre-valuation. The round included CoinFund, DWF Labs, Hypersphere Ventures, Republic, Nascent, FalconX, and others. Seed investors received the same terms as public buyers, which cut concerns about insider advantages.

Total Raised and Public Targets

At the time of the public sale, Flying Tulip had roughly $215M committed. Its goal for all public stages combined reaches up to $800M while maintaining a $1B valuation.

Why a $1B Valuation at Launch?

Critics argue the valuation limits early gains. Supporters counter that Flying Tulip isn’t selling equity. Participants deposit capital into a structure that behaves more like liquidity provision. Because deposits stay productive, the FDV reflects economic guarantees rather than pure speculation.

Burn mechanisms and future buybacks aim to counter inflation concerns.

Tokenomics: Understanding $FT

Total Supply and Price

Allocation Breakdown

Public sale: 15%

Seed: same price and terms

Team: none at TGE, avoiding early sell pressure

Unlocking and Distribution

All tokens unlock at TGE, which is expected a few months after the sale. This choice surprises many investors, but the burn-for-refund mechanism acts as a balancing force.

Utility and Use Cases

$FT acts as:

A coordination asset for governance

A claim on future protocol revenue via buybacks

Collateral within the platform

A perpetual put option token for redemptions

The last use case is what differentiates FT from typical governance tokens. Buyers hold an asset that benefits from protocol growth yet stays protected by guaranteed refund rights.

Controlling Supply Expansion

Flying Tulip avoids inflationary emissions. Redemption events burn tokens, shrinking supply. Revenue buys tokens from the market. These mechanics help prevent runaway dilution.

Listing Expectations

The team targets TGE in Q1 2026. Sonic-based DEXs and Base ecosystem exchanges are early candidates. CEX listings on platforms like KuCoin or Bitget are possible but unconfirmed.

Until launch, allocation NFTs can be traded on secondary markets.

The Token Sale on Impossible Finance

Structure of the Sale

Impossible Finance hosts the early-access round of Flying Tulip’s sale. It spans multiple phases including staking, purchase rounds, a bonus stage, whitelist options, and a later open public entry.

Key Dates and Milestones

Staking: Oct 31 – Nov 17, 2025

Staked purchase period: Nov 18 – Nov 20

Bonus purchase period: Nov 20 – Nov 21 (for large stakers)

Unstaking: early December and mid-January, depending on pool

Hardcap and Supported Chains

The Impossible phase is capped at $15M. Across Impossible and CoinList combined, early access totals as high as $200M. Staking uses BNB Chain, but purchases support stablecoins and ETH from several networks.

Fees and KYC Notes

Impossible charges a 1% fee. Later stages skip it. KYC is mandatory on Impossible and CoinList but optional for whitelist and public participation.

NFT Redemption Model Explained

Participants receive NFTs representing their allocation. These can be burned anytime for a full refund or traded before TGE. If the sale oversubscribes, allocations adjust proportionally. The NFT model gives flexibility for early exits without harming other participants.

How to Join the Sale

Step-By-Step Overview

Connect an EVM wallet to BNB Chain.

Acquire and stake IDIA tokens.

Build allocation weight through staking duration and multipliers.

Contribute stablecoins or ETH during purchase periods.

Receive NFT representing your FT allocation.

Later, claim FT tokens at TGE or redeem your NFT for refund.

Example Allocation

If total weight equals 10M and your personal weight reaches 60K, your share of the $15M pool equals:

(60,000 / 10,000,000) × $15,000,000 = $90,000

Large stakers gain bonus-pool opportunities and boosts for future Impossible sales.

Whitelist Option

The Flying Tulip website includes a quiz with 10 questions that grant access if answered correctly. Many users share study notes publicly, though the official site remains the safest source of information.

Pros, Cons, and Market Reactions

Strengths

Flying Tulip offers something rare in crypto fundraising: a chance to buy tokens with downside protection. Refund rights remain active indefinitely, giving participants flexibility.

Strong incentive alignment also boosts trust. The team receives compensation only through performance, not unlocks. Veteran builders often highlight this as a healthier model than previous cycles.

Impossible Finance’s track record—over 38 launches with an average 4.13× peak—adds credibility. Community traction on X and Telegram grew quickly, with early guides attracting hundreds of thousands of impressions.

Potential Weaknesses

A fixed $1B valuation raises questions about future returns. Large presale contributions can limit early-stage price discovery. Novel mechanisms such as on-chain puts introduce creative risk vectors that auditors must address.

Capital used for yield-generating refunds offers modest returns compared to aggressive on-chain strategies. Some investors view this as opportunity cost.

Oversubscription is also common in IDO cultures. Smaller participants may receive smaller allocations than expected.

What Analysts Are Saying

Independent reviewers scored Flying Tulip roughly 74/100 on average for innovation and safety structure. Analysts from established channels like CoinBureau called it one of November’s better opportunities thanks to its risk-managed approach.

Sentiment remains optimistic but cautious. Many users appreciate Cronje’s involvement but understand that untested financial engineering always carries risk.

Future Outlook and Roadmap

Bullish Scenario

If Sonic gains strong traction and Flying Tulip attracts traders, its cross-margin engine could draw over $1B in TVL. Revenue-driven buybacks would then elevate FT’s price. Some models project FT reaching $0.50 or more if activity remains high.

Bearish Scenario

If trading volume remains weak, revenue could fall short of covering redemptions, encouraging more users to cash out. A redemption spiral would shrink supply but could stall growth. A market downturn after TGE might also pressure early holders to exit.

What Comes Next

The team plans a security audit wave, a beta launch early in 2026, and a full mainnet rollout afterward. Updates appear regularly on Sonic channels, Flying Tulip’s official account, and Impossible Finance’s dashboard.

Final Thoughts

Flying Tulip pushes DeFi into new territory by merging trading engines, structured finance, and a risk-adjusted fundraising approach. Its principal-protected framework offers an unusual blend of safety and growth potential, backed by one of the most respected builders in the space. Time will reveal whether this experiment becomes a defining moment for on-chain finance or a stepping-stone to even more advanced designs. Either way, Flying Tulip has captured the attention of investors, developers, and analysts who’ve followed DeFi since its earliest days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions about this topic:

Is Flying Tulip safe?

Its structure reduces common ICO risks by offering full refunds. Smart contract audits are still underway, so users should remain cautious.

Why does the project use a stablecoin like ftUSD?

ftUSD supports cross-margin trading, provides consistent collateral, and powers the refund engine.

Can FT tokens be sold before TGE?

Yes. Allocation NFTs can be traded on secondary platforms.

Is the $1B valuation justified?

Supporters view it as a reflection of guaranteed protection and capital productivity. Critics say it limits early upside.

6 Technologies We Need to Have If We Want to Settle on Mars One Day

6 Technologies We Need to Have If We Want to Settle on Mars One Day

Founding a colony on Mars and living there long-term is among humanity’s greatest goals. So, what technologies are needed to do this?

Mars has been a planet that has captured people’s imaginations for decades. We have seen many different vehicles sent to the Red Planet for research so far. Of course, the main goal is to send humans to Mars and even, one day, to be able to establish a colony there. Thanks to the work of pioneers like NASA and SpaceX, we may soon see significant steps taken in this regard.

However, we still do not fully possess the necessary technologies to live on Mars. So, what kind of technologies do we need if we genuinely want to live on Mars one day? These technologies will enable our long-term survival on Mars. Let’s take a look at what they are.

In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) Technology

The biggest logistical obstacle to settling Mars is the cargo problem. Transporting every kilogram of payload from Earth to Mars is both incredibly expensive and means a journey lasting months. A sustainable colony cannot wait for everything it needs from Earth. This is where In-Situ Resource Utilization, also known as ISRU, comes into play. ISRU, in its simplest definition, is surviving on Mars by using the resources we find there.

The most concrete example of this is the MOXIE experiment on NASA’s Perseverance rover. MOXIE succeeded in taking Mars’s atmosphere, which is 95% carbon dioxide, and converting it into breathable oxygen. Integrating this into human missions in the future will be genuinely useful if we want to live on Mars for a long time.

Life Support Systems

Even current systems like the International Space Station (ISS) are dependent on periodic resupply ships. However, we will not have this luxury on Mars. The life support systems developed for a Mars colony must be “closed-loop.” This means that nothing is wasted. The system must take the carbon dioxide exhaled by astronauts and convert it back into oxygen via plants or chemical reactors.

Most important is water recycling. A habitat on Mars must be able to produce potable water from all kinds of wastewater—including sweat, breath, and even urine—with over 99% efficiency. These systems must also see waste as a resource, for example, by converting organic waste into fertilizer for plant agriculture. In short, our home on Mars must somehow mimic Earth’s ecosystem.

Safe Areas, Precautions Against Radiation

One of the most insidious dangers awaiting us on Mars is radiation. Mars does not have a strong magnetic field like Earth, and its atmosphere is too thin to block cosmic rays and radiation from the Sun. An unprotected person on the surface can be exposed to a lethal dose of radiation in a short time. Therefore, living spaces created on Mars must not only maintain pressure and temperature but also serve as an effective radiation shield.

Sustainable Energy Production

A Mars colony requires enormous energy for everything needed to operate. Since Mars is farther from the Sun than Earth, the efficiency of solar panels is lower. Furthermore, massive dust storms, which can last for months and cover the entire planet, can render solar panels completely non-functional.

Although solar energy can be used in the initial stages, more permanent, long-term sustainable energy sources are needed. Using such sources will make living on Mars much more possible for humans. One of the options being considered is nuclear reactors. Small, portable nuclear reactors, like NASA’s Kilopower project, have the potential to provide uninterrupted, high-volume energy 24/7, unaffected by dust storms or the day-night cycle.

Food Production

If you’ve watched the movie The Martian, you’ve definitely seen the character played by Matt Damon growing vegetables. This film is shown as one of the most realistic space movies and gives us ideas about possible life on Mars. If we are truly seeking long-term life on Mars, we need to be able to produce food.

The solution here lies in soilless agriculture technologies. Systems like hydroponics, which means growing plants in water and nutrient solutions, can be used. They can be beneficial as they minimize water use and provide maximum yield in small spaces with vertical farming techniques. At the same time, developing radiation- and low-light-resistant, fast-growing plants through genetic engineering can also contribute.

Rapid and Reusable Mars Transportation

We need a massive transportation capacity to get all these technologies to Mars and establish a colony. It is economically impossible to build a Mars city with current single-use rockets. Fully reusable rocket systems, like the Starship being developed by SpaceX, are designed to change this equation. Since it is still undergoing tests, it is not at the desired level right now. However, if it becomes truly successful one day, it could make a serious contribution to Mars missions.

Settling on Mars has the potential to be one of the greatest achievements in human history. The technologies we’ve listed above are among the fundamental building blocks necessary to turn a dream into reality. When we succeed in all of them, we may see people living on Mars, just like in science fiction films.

Google Introduces SIMA 2: A Self-Learning AI System in Virtual Worlds

Google Introduces SIMA 2: A Self-Learning AI System in Virtual Worlds

Google DeepMind has introduced the Gemini-powered SIMA 2. The agent, which understands and acts in virtual worlds, continuously improves its performance by learning from its own experiences.

Google DeepMind shared a comprehensive research preview on Thursday for SIMA 2, which represents the next major step in artificial intelligence research. The new-generation general-purpose agent, combined with Gemini’s advanced language and reasoning capabilities, is no longer just a system that follows commands. Instead, it gains the ability to understand and interact with the virtual world it inhabes.

SIMA 2 Raises the Bar

DeepMind had trained the first version, SIMA 1, with hundreds of hours of game footage, demonstrating that the agent could play numerous 3D games like humans. However, SIMA 1’s success rate at completing complex tasks was only 31 percent. Humans achieved 71 percent success on the same tasks. It is stated that SIMA 2, developed to overcome these limitations, has both reached a more general level of intelligence and can improve itself by learning from its own experiences.

According to researchers, this feature represents a critical step toward more comprehensive robotics systems and the general-purpose artificial intelligence defined as AGI.

Furthermore, SIMA 2 is powered by the Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite model. This structure, defined as an Embodied Agent, observes its surroundings by interacting with a physical or virtual world through a “body” and produces actions accordingly. This approach differs from traditional AI, which only performs abstract operations like calendar management or code execution.

Jane Wang, a senior researcher at DeepMind, emphasizes that SIMA 2 is no longer just playing games but can grasp user instructions with their context and provide logical, consistent, and common-sense responses. Thanks to the Gemini integration, SIMA 2’s performance has doubled compared to the previous version.

It Trains and Learns on Its Own

In a live demo on “No Man’s Sky,” SIMA 2 described the planet’s rocky surface, recognized a nearby emergency beacon, and determined its next step. In another example, when given the command “go to the house the color of a ripe tomato,” it thought, “A tomato is red, so I must go to the red house,” and then proceeded to the red house. SIMA 2 can also understand emoji-based commands. For instance, when sent an axe and a tree emoji, the agent interprets this and goes to chop down a tree. The agent can also recognize correct objects and interact with details like benches, trees, and butterflies in new photorealistic worlds created with DeepMind’s Genie model.

One of the most striking innovations is its self-learning capacity. While SIMA 1 was trained entirely on human gameplay data, SIMA 2 only takes its initial foundation from this data. Afterward, when the system is placed in new environments, it generates tasks from another Gemini model, and an independent reward model scores the agent’s performance. In this cycle, SIMA 2 learns from its own mistakes and develops new behaviors with feedback generated entirely by AI.

DeepMind sees SIMA 2 as a gateway to more comprehensive robotics platforms in the future. Researchers state that a robot operating in the real world needs high-level comprehension and reasoning skills, and SIMA 2 operates precisely at this upper layer. In contrast, low-level control mechanisms, such as physical joints or wheels, are managed by different models. For now, there is no set timeline for integrating SIMA 2 into physical robots or releasing a public version.

The platform uses ensemble machine learning techniques—combining sentiment data, volatility indexes, and smart contract activity—to generate multi-dimensional predictions. Delphi operates primarily on a premium research subscription model.

In 2025, the line between data and prediction has blurred. AI tools are not just enhancing crypto analysis—they’re defining it. Whether it’s tracking whale movements, decoding social sentiment, or forecasting volatility, artificial intelligence has made crypto trading more empirical, strategic, and scalable than ever before.

OpenSim still has over 900,000 region equivalents – Hypergrid Business

OpenSim still has over 900,000 region equivalents – Hypergrid Business

Due to an OSgrid user modeling all of North America, the total number of standard-sized regions in OpenSim is still an astronomical 973,193.

Land is land, and plenty of people put up regions in OpenSim that nobody ever uses because land is so cheap — even free, if you run them on your own computers — so on the one hand, I should count these.

On the other hand, it will make my bar chart absolutely impossible to read! So I’m leaving those regions out, and counting OSgrid as if it only had the 35,873 regions it did earlier this year, before the grand geography experiment, plus the 1,373 regions it added in the past month — for a total of 37,246 — instead of the 864,410 it’s reporting now.

Anyway, that particular weirdness aside, OpenSim’s commercial grids reported 1,585 fewer standard region equivalents this month, 1,850 fewer registered users, and 3,320 fewer active users.

This might be due to the holidays, instead of staying at home people are going to Halloween parties and planning Thanksgiving meals. Or it could be because the total number of active grids dropped from 257 to 249, and the number of grids reporting stats dropped from 199 to 185.

In particular, 11 grids were marked as suspended this month: Eenhgrid, Gabngio, Gridworld, KittyBlue, Lonetree, Moonlighting Grid, Nitro, Paradise City, SiLi, Six Sides, and VR-ESC. Some grids closed for good, including Canadian Grid.

OpenSim land area for November 2025 — not counting 800,000 or so regions continental project regions on OSgrid. (Hypergrid Business data.)

By my count, OpenSim now has the equivalent of 146,029 standard region equivalents, 42,924 active users, and 490,451 registered users.

Our stats do not include most of the grids running on DreamGrid, a free easy-to-use version OpenSim, since these tend to be private grids.

OpenSim is a free, open-source, virtual world platform, that’s similar to Second Life and allows people with no technical skills to quickly and cheaply create virtual worlds and teleport to other virtual worlds. Those with technical skills can run OpenSim worlds on their servers for free using either DreamGrid, the official OpenSim installer for those who are more technically inclined, or any other distribution, while commercial hosting starts at less than $5 a region.

A list of OpenSim hosting providers is here. If you offer region rentals and are not on this list, email me!

You can download the recommended Firestorm viewer here and find out where to get content for your OpenSim world or region here.

Hypergrid Business newsletter is now available

Every month on the 15th — right after the stats report comes out — we will be sending out a newsletter with all the OpenSim news from the previous month. You can subscribe here or fill out the form below.

Top 25 grids by active users

When it comes to general-purpose social grids, especially closed grids, the rule of thumb is the busier the better. People looking to make new friends look for grids that already have the most users. Merchants looking to sell content will go to the grids with the most potential customers. Event organizers looking for the biggest audience — you get the idea.

Top 25 most popular grids this month:

Canadian Grid shuts down

Canadian Grid — not to be confused with the Great Canadian Grid, which is also closed — has shuttered its doors due to a lack of interest, grid owner Chris Strachan told Hypergrid Business.

Normally, when a grid shuts down, there are people worrying about how to transfer their regions, content, avatars, and scheduled events to their new grids — and I write an article about the migration.

That’s not the case here, since the grid had none of those things. Since we started tracking the grid a year ago, it had a maximum of 13 visitors a month, with one month where it just had three.

Top 40 grids by land area

All region counts on this list are, whenever available, in terms of standard region equivalents. Active user counts include hypergrid visitors whenever possible.

Many school, company, or personal grids do not publish their numbers.

The raw data for this month’s report is here. A list of all active grids is here. And here is a list of all the hypergrid-enabled grids and their hypergrid addresses, sorted by popularity. This is very useful if you are creating a hyperport.

You can see all the historical OpenSim statistics here, including polls and surveys, dating all the way back to 2009.

7 Projects Making Crypto Beginner-Friendly In 2025

In Brief

In 2025, a new generation of crypto tools—from smart wallets and multisig accounts to hardware wallets—is making digital assets safer and more accessible for beginners.

7 Projects Making Crypto Beginner-Friendly In 2025

The crypto world in 2025 is at the same time thrilling and frightening. The use of Bitcoin ETFs has spread, Ethereum is still developing and already there are new blockchains coming into existence every single month. Nevertheless, with all that creative power, the issue of security is still very important to the industry.

The year 2024 suffered the biggest loss in digital currency ever, totaling more than $2.1 billion, because of various types of cyberattacks such as hacking, phishing, and wallet exploits.

The good news? A new generation of projects is building tools that make crypto safer, simpler, and far more forgiving — especially for newcomers. From smart-contract wallets to trusted on-ramps, these are seven standout projects helping crypto finally feel safe for beginners in 2025.

Smart-Contract Wallets — ZenGo & Ready (Formerly Argent)

7 Projects Making Crypto Beginner-Friendly In 2025

Alt cap: Top: An orange, upward-pointing, forked shape on a white background. Bottom: Two interlocking, stylized gold “Z” shapes on a black background.

For years, the scariest part of crypto was a single phrase: “Not your keys, not your coins.” Self-custody meant total responsibility — and one lost seed phrase could erase everything.

Enter Ready and ZenGo, two wallet projects that have reinvented how people secure their assets.

Ready, a smart-contract wallet on Ethereum, eliminates the need for a single recovery phrase. Instead, users nominate “guardians” — trusted contacts or devices — that can help restore access if a phone is lost or stolen. It’s simple social recovery built into the blockchain itself.

Meanwhile, ZenGo takes a cryptographic route. It uses multi-party computation (MPC) to split your private key into two parts — one stored on your phone and one on ZenGo’s servers. Neither side alone can move your funds, meaning hackers can’t access your crypto even if they compromise one device.

Both projects strike the perfect balance: real ownership without the “one mistake and you’re done” stress that kept many beginners on the sidelines.

Smart Accounts and Multisig Safety — Safe

7 Projects Making Crypto Beginner-Friendly In 2025

Alt cap: Safe logo showing a black abstract geometric shape resembling a stylized “S” or two interlocking blocks is centered on a bright green background.

Another big step forward is the rise of smart accounts — programmable wallets that use multiple signers to approve transactions.

Safe (formerly Gnosis Safe) is the leading name here. It lets users create multi-signature wallets where several devices or people must approve a transaction before funds move. That’s a huge safety net for families, startups, or anyone worried about one compromised device draining everything.

What makes Safe special in 2025 is its user-friendly integrations. It now connects seamlessly with mobile apps, DeFi dashboards, and even NFT platforms. Beginners get enterprise-grade protection without needing to understand the underlying tech.

In short: multisig wallets are no longer just for crypto pros — they’re the beginner’s best insurance policy.

7 Projects Making Crypto Beginner-Friendly In 2025

Alt cap: Trezor and Ledger logos showing a black outline of a clock showing 3 o’clock above a black padlock icon on a white background.

For long-term holders, hardware wallets remain the gold standard. They keep your keys offline, safe from malware and phishing. But until recently, they felt clunky and intimidating.

That’s changing fast thanks to Ledger and Trezor, two hardware pioneers that have made serious UX strides.

Ledger’s latest devices — the Ledger Stax and Nano X — include large touchscreens, wireless connections, and built-in recovery flows that don’t require typing long seed phrases on tiny screens. Their companion app, Ledger Live, lets beginners manage assets, stake tokens, and even buy crypto safely in one place.

Trezor’s new Safe 7 model offers similar simplicity with open-source transparency and step-by-step onboarding. It guides users through secure setup and verification, drastically reducing beginner mistakes.

The message for 2025: cold storage no longer has to feel cold and confusing.

7 Projects Making Crypto Beginner-Friendly In 2025

Alt cap: Logos of CertiK (top, with shield design) and Zapper (bottom, with blue stylized “Z”) on a white background.

One of the toughest lessons for new crypto users is that anyone can launch a token or DeFi app. That’s why smart contract audits and real-time security scoring tools have become indispensable.

CertiK is leading that charge with its Skynet platform, which provides security scores and live monitoring for thousands of crypto projects. Anyone can look up a token and instantly see audit results, code vulnerabilities, and even community sentiment.

Similarly, OpenZeppelin, a long-standing security firm, provides developer tools and audits that power many of the industry’s safest protocols. Their open-source smart contract libraries are used by giants like Aave and Compound — and serve as the backbone for safer DeFi development.

For beginners, these platforms act as a “crypto hygiene” check. Before investing, users can quickly verify whether a project is secure or shady. Transparency becomes protection.

7 Projects Making Crypto Beginner-Friendly In 2025

Alt cap: Immunefi and SlowMist logos: on the left, a geometric, interlocking square pattern; on the right, a shield split in half, with one side solid and the other side pixelated with small squares.

Even audited projects can have hidden bugs. That’s where bug-bounty marketplaces like Immunefi and SlowMist come in.

Immunefi has become the primary security layer for Web3 projects. It links white-hat hackers with protocols that are ready to pay for the vulnerabilities before the attackers get to exploit them. In just 2024, it has already assisted in recovering or averting more than $150 million in possible losses.

On the other hand, SlowMist, which is situated in Asia, integrates auditing, on-chain threat intelligence, and a live incident database that monitors ongoing phishing and rug-pull attempts.

The message for non-experts is easy: the most secure projects are the ones that solicit hackers to test their defenses. Bounty-driven ecosystems encourage transparency and continuous improvement, and thus, they are turning what used to be a vulnerability into an asset–a safety feature.

On-Ramps and Educational Guardrails — Coinbase & MoonPay

7 Projects Making Crypto Beginner-Friendly In 2025

Alt cap: Coinbase and MoonPay logos showing a blue square with a white C on the left, next to three purple circles of varying sizes on a white background to the right.

For a newbie crypto user, one of the most perilous times is their very first buy. Untrustworthy websites, phishing scams, and plus Telegram “support” groups have given a hard time to novices and cost them millions.

Therefore, regulated, user-friendly on-ramps like Coinbase and MoonPay are a must for 2025.

Coinbase is still a reliable brand name due to its strict regulatory compliance, insurances, and excellent 2FA safety. But what enhances its attraction even more are the educational rewards.

Via Coinbase Learn, one can view short clips explaining crypto ideas and receive little token rewards — a fun and safe way to learn. On the other hand,

MoonPay has simplified the “buy with card” experience to a one-click, fraud-proof manner. It has clear payment verification, built-in compliance checks, and live customer support, making it a top choice for beginners who want to get into crypto without the usual confusion.

The combination of education and simplicity with security turns the onboarding process from a barrier to a gateway.

7 Projects Making Crypto Beginner-Friendly In 2025

Alt cap: Three cryptocurrency wallet logos: Top—a geometric orange fox face (MetaMask). Bottom left—a rainbow over dark blue (Rainbow). Bottom right—a white W wave on blue circle (WalletConnect). All on a white background.

Phishing remains the number-one threat for new crypto users. All it takes is one wrong click to lose everything. But wallet developers are finally building defensive design into the user experience.

MetaMask Snaps, launched in 2024, allows developers to build safety add-ons directly inside the world’s most popular wallet. One example is a Snap that warns users if they’re interacting with a known phishing domain or malicious contract before they approve a transaction.

On the mobile side, RainbowKit and WalletConnect have worked together to make connection flows safer. WalletConnect now includes verified dApp profiles and session previews, so users see exactly what permissions they’re granting — no more blind approvals.

These UX improvements might seem small, but they prevent the most common beginner mistakes. Safety shouldn’t rely on paranoia — it should be built into the tools themselves.
