EVM in Web3 Gaming: NFTs, Smart Contracts, and Player-Owned Assets | NFT News Today

EVM in Web3 Gaming: NFTs, Smart Contracts, and Player-Owned Assets | NFT News Today

The Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) is significant in Web3 gaming, changing how games operate, how players interact, and even how virtual assets are owned and traded. If you’re curious about EVM gaming—whether you’re a casual gamer or tech enthusiast—this guide will help you understand what EVM gaming is, how it works, and why it’s essential.

Understanding Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)

To understand EVM gaming, you first need to know a bit about the Ethereum Virtual Machine itself. Think of the EVM as the engine that runs applications on the Ethereum blockchain. It interprets smart contracts—self-executing contracts written in code—that control transactions, asset ownership, and interactions within digital environments.

The EVM ensures these contracts execute transparently and reliably across all blockchain nodes, keeping everything fair and consistent.

How Does EVM Gaming Work?

Imagine playing your favourite video game, but instead of everything being managed by a single company, the game rules and ownership of items are transparently controlled by code running on a blockchain. That’s essentially what EVM gaming offers. Here’s how it works in a relatable way:

1. Smart Contract Execution

Every action you take, like winning a battle or completing a quest, triggers a smart contract—a set of pre-defined rules written in code. This means the results of your actions are automatically and transparently updated on the blockchain, potentially making gameplay fairer.

2. In-Game Asset Ownership (NFTs)

Think about all the cool items you’ve ever earned in a video game—maybe a rare sword, a limited-edition skin, or a powerful character. In most traditional games, those items technically don’t belong to you. But with EVM gaming, that changes.

Thanks to NFTs, those digital items are tied to your wallet—not the game developer’s server. You can sell, trade, or hang onto them like prized collectibles. It’s like finally getting the keys to the stuff you’ve worked hard to earn.

3. Decentralized Game Logic

In regular games, all the rules and mechanics are set—and often changed—by the company behind the game. If they decide to nerf your favourite weapon or shut down the server, there’s not much you can do. EVM gaming flips that around.

Here, the rules are coded into smart contracts on the blockchain and shared across the network. In theory, that means no single company can secretly change how things work. It puts more control in players’ hands and helps keep things fair.

4. Player-Owned Economy

Imagine a game where your time and effort can pay off. With EVM gaming, you’re not just playing—you’re participating in an economy. Since your in-game items and currencies are NFTs or tokens, you can sell them to other players or use them across different games.

It turns your gaming experience into something more valuable, giving you a chance to earn while you play. That kind of freedom can make the game world feel a lot more real and rewarding.

Challenges and Solutions in EVM Gaming

But like any emerging technology, EVM gaming also comes with hurdles. Here are the major ones developers and players are working to overcome:

Computational Constraints and High Fees

The EVM has limitations in computational speed and efficiency. Complex real-time calculations can become costly due to the blockchain’s transaction fees—known as gas fees. These costs can be prohibitive, especially on Ethereum’s main network.

Solutions Include:

Layer 2 Scaling: Technologies like zkEVM and rollups move intensive computational tasks off-chain, drastically reducing costs and enhancing game complexity without sacrificing blockchain security.

EVM-Compatible Chains: Networks like Polygon and Avalanche offer lower fees and faster transactions, making them ideal for gaming applications.

Hybrid Models: Some games combine blockchain for asset tracking with off-chain computing for gameplay mechanics, balancing performance and security.

Tooling like Foundry and Chainlink VRF (for randomness) is increasingly being used by developers to streamline smart contract deployment, testing, and integration of real-world data into games.

Examples of Popular EVM Gaming Platforms

Several platforms have successfully leveraged EVM to deliver unique gaming experiences:

Immutable zkEVM: Immutable offers gaming-focused scalability with reduced transaction fees. Notable games like Gods Unchained, Illuvium, and Ember Sword use Immutable’s solutions to deliver smooth gameplay experiences with secure asset ownership.

Polygon: Known for affordability and speed, Polygon supports games like The Sandbox and Sunflower Land. Its ecosystem facilitates game developers looking to scale and integrate easily with Ethereum-based assets.

Avalanche: Avalanche’s custom blockchain solution supports games like Crabada and DeFi Kingdoms, offering customized, high-performance gaming environments with low transaction costs.

Interoperability and Cross-Game Experiences

One of the unique strengths of EVM gaming is interoperability—assets created in one game can be used in another. This cross-game compatibility enriches the player’s experience, allowing assets like NFTs to carry value across different gaming environments.

However, true cross-game compatibility is still in early stages. Many challenges remain in standardizing asset formats, adapting game mechanics, and ensuring NFTs are functionally meaningful across different game worlds.

The Future of EVM Gaming

Looking ahead, the potential for EVM gaming is growing quickly. Developers are constantly finding new ways to make these games more scalable and user-friendly, meaning they’re getting easier for everyday players to enjoy. As blockchain technology becomes more efficient, the barrier to entry gets lower—and more people can dive in.

Still, regulatory clarity remains a hurdle. Questions about whether NFTs could be considered securities, how play-to-earn models are taxed, and the legal recognition of digital ownership are issues currently under active debate.

So, what does this mean for you? Whether you love gaming, work in tech, or are looking for new ways to engage with digital assets, EVM gaming has something valuable to offer. It’s changing how we think about ownership, interaction, and value in digital spaces.

What is an NFT Raffle and How to Organize One? | NFT News Today

What is an NFT Raffle and How to Organize One? | NFT News Today

NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) have changed how we view digital ownership, creating a surge of new opportunities in the art, gaming, and finance industries. One of the latest trends within the NFT space is the emergence of NFT raffles.

Understanding NFT Raffles

An NFT raffle is a lottery-style event where participants purchase entries (usually with cryptocurrency) for a chance to win an NFT. Rather than buying an NFT outright at full price, participants buy a ticket or multiple tickets, with each ticket representing a chance to win. Once all entries are collected within a set time or ticket limit is reached, a winner is selected randomly, often through a transparent blockchain-based process.

NFT raffles democratize access to high-value NFTs by lowering the financial barrier to entry. Instead of paying several thousand dollars to purchase a rare NFT directly, an individual might spend a relatively small amount to acquire a raffle ticket with a chance to win the same asset.

How NFT Raffles Are Organized

Organizing an NFT raffle requires clear structure, transparency, and trust. Most raffles operate through decentralized platforms, smart contracts, or trusted third-party marketplaces that ensure fairness.

Selection of the Prize: The organizer chooses one or more NFTs as the prize. These could be original artworks, collectible items, in-game assets, or membership NFTs linked to exclusive communities.

Setting the Rules: Clear rules are established, including ticket price, maximum number of tickets, deadline for entries, and method of winner selection. Terms should also cover conditions such as what happens if the raffle fails to sell a minimum number of tickets.

Ticket Sales: Participants buy tickets using cryptocurrency, usually Sui, Ethereum, Solana, or BNB, depending on the platform. Some raffles are capped, allowing only a limited number of entries, while others allow unlimited sales until a closing date.

Transparency Through Smart Contracts: Many NFT raffles use smart contracts to automate ticket sales, track entries, and select winners. Smart contracts reduce human intervention, ensuring that the raffle outcome is verifiable and tamper-proof.

Winner Selection and Distribution: After the entry period closes, a winner is chosen. The method of drawing varies—some platforms use blockchain-based randomization protocols, while others may conduct manual draws accompanied by public proofs. The NFT is then transferred directly to the winner’s wallet address.

Key Considerations and Challenges

While NFT raffles offer exciting opportunities, they are not without risks. Participants should verify the credibility of the raffle organizer and the platform hosting it. Scams and fraudulent raffles do exist, making transparency crucial. Regulatory uncertainties also exist, especially in jurisdictions where raffles could be classified as gambling or lottery activities, requiring special licenses. To mitigate these risks, reputable NFT projects disclose their smart contract codes, maintain clear communications, and sometimes partner with well-known auditing firms to certify fairness.

Final Thoughts

NFT raffles have opened a new channel for distributing digital assets in a way that fosters accessibility and community excitement. They blend the mechanics of traditional lotteries with blockchain’s principles of transparency and decentralization. As the NFT ecosystem matures, we can expect raffle models to evolve further—potentially integrating with broader decentralized finance (DeFi) initiatives, metaverse platforms, and new forms of interactive entertainment. For both creators and participants, understanding how NFT raffles work is crucial to navigating this innovative frontier responsibly.

How ONE Fight Arena Leverages Sui Blockchain for Next-Gen Gaming | NFT News Today

How ONE Fight Arena Leverages Sui Blockchain for Next-Gen Gaming | NFT News Today

ONE Fight Arena utilizes the Sui Blockchain for next-generation gaming, merging the exciting world of mixed martial arts with advanced blockchain technology. This innovative mobile game from Notre Game and ONE Championship creates an ecosystem where players can truly own their digital assets while enjoying authentic MMA gameplay enhanced by Sui blockchain’s efficiency and security.

Key Takeaways

ONE Fight Arena integrates Sui blockchain to enable true digital ownership of fighter NFTs and in-game assets with transaction fees under $0.01.

The game features a unique play-to-earn model where players earn Adrenaline Points convertible to $SUI tokens through the match-3 combat system.

Pro Edition Athlete NFTs offer 20% higher Adrenaline earnings and exclusive abilities while retaining value outside the game ecosystem.

The partnership between ONE Championship, Animoca Brands, and Sui Foundation creates a comprehensive ecosystem spanning gaming, collectibles, and live events.

The ONE Fight Arena Game Experience

ONE Fight Arena represents a significant advancement in mobile MMA gaming by combining free-to-play accessibility with optional blockchain integration. Developed by Notre Game, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, in partnership with ONE Championship, the game launched in March 2025 and is playable across iOS and Android platforms.

The game features authentic representations of actual ONE Championship fighters, including stars like Demetrious Johnson and Rodtang Jitmuangnon. This official licensing creates an immersive experience where players can collect, train, and compete with digital versions of their favorite MMA athletes.

What makes ONE Fight Arena stand out from traditional mobile games is its hybrid approach. Players can enjoy the core gameplay experience without any blockchain knowledge, while those interested in digital ownership and play-to-earn mechanics can access additional features through the Sui blockchain integration. This dual approach has helped the game reach both casual players and crypto enthusiasts.

Sui Blockchain: The Technical Foundation

The selection of Sui blockchain as ONE Fight Arena’s technical foundation provides several key advantages that enhance the gaming experience. Sui offers transaction processing speeds of up to 65,000 transactions per second (TPS), dramatically outpacing older blockchains like Ethereum. This high throughput ensures that in-game transactions occur almost instantly, without disrupting gameplay.

Transaction costs on Sui remain consistently below $0.01, making microtransactions economically viable within the game economy. This is particularly important for the ONE Fight Arena game where players frequently upgrade fighters, participate in contests, and convert in-game currencies.

The game implements Sui’s zkLogin authentication system, which allows players to access blockchain features through familiar login methods like Google or Facebook accounts. This system maintains security while eliminating the need for players to manage private keys or crypto wallets, addressing a major barrier to mainstream adoption of blockchain games.

Sui’s object-centric data model also enables more efficient asset management within the game, allowing for frequent updates to fighter statistics and abilities without incurring high gas costs. This creates a more dynamic game environment where NFT fighters can evolve based on player actions.

Digital Ownership Through NFT Athletes

Central to ONE Fight Arena’s innovation is the implementation of Pro Edition Athlete NFTs on the Sui blockchain. Unlike traditional games where purchased items remain under the control of developers, these NFTs represent true digital ownership. Players who acquire Pro Edition Athletes maintain complete ownership and can trade, sell, or upgrade these assets independently of the game ecosystem.

Each Pro Edition Athlete offers tangible advantages within the game, including a 20% boost to Adrenaline earnings and access to exclusive fighter abilities. This creates a clear value proposition for players considering the investment in blockchain assets.

The NFT implementation also allows for fighter progression that persists outside the game itself. When players upgrade their Pro Edition Athletes, these improvements become permanent blockchain records that maintain value even if the player moves to another game or decides to sell the asset.

The fighter NFT collection features varied rarity tiers with corresponding visual distinctions and performance attributes. This creates a collecting aspect to the game where players can assemble unique fighter rosters representing their personal MMA preferences.

Match-3 Combat System and Gameplay Elements

The core gameplay of ONE Fight Arena centers around an innovative match-3 combat system that balances accessibility with tactical depth. Players engage in PvP battles where matching specific tiles activates various attacks, defensive moves, and special abilities performed by their 3D fighter avatars.

The game implements a stamina system to regulate play sessions. Free players receive one stamina point every two hours, with each competitive match requiring one stamina point. Notably, even without stamina, players can still earn one-third of the standard rewards, ensuring continuous progression for all player types.

For competitive players, the Pro Arena Mode offers a Web3-enabled leaderboard system with substantial rewards. Each season features a prize pool, with top performers earning both financial rewards and exclusive in-game items. The first season distributed 1,110 $SUI tokens among top performers, establishing a tangible earning potential for skilled players.

The game balance ensures that while Pro Edition Athlete owners have advantages, skill remains the primary determinant of success. This approach prevents the game from becoming “pay-to-win” while still providing value to blockchain participants.

Adrenaline Economy and Play-to-Earn Mechanics

The economic engine of ONE Fight Arena is its Adrenaline Points system, a blockchain-based currency earned through victories, daily quests, and special events. Players accumulate Adrenaline through regular gameplay, with Pro Edition Athlete owners earning 20% more per activity.

Adrenaline Points offer several redemption options:

Conversion to $SUI tokens through various mechanisms

Entry into Adrenaline Raffles (1000 points = 1 ticket for a chance at 50 $SUI)

Upgrading fighters and purchasing special items

Redeeming for real-world rewards like merchandise and event tickets

The Adrenaline-to-$SUI conversion creates a direct link between in-game success and cryptocurrency value. Season 1 featured a 1,110 $SUI token distribution pool, with individual earnings varying based on player performance and investment.

A notable advantage of the Sui blockchain implementation is the zero-fee Adrenaline withdrawal system. Unlike many play-to-earn games where transaction fees consume a significant portion of earnings, ONE Fight Arena players can convert their Adrenaline without incurring gas costs, maximizing their returns.

Partnership Ecosystem Powering ONE Fight Arena

The success of ONE Fight Arena stems from a strategic alliance between three major entities, each contributing unique strengths to the project. ONE Championship provides access to over 80 professional athletes and global broadcast reach across more than 190 countries, lending authenticity and marketing reach to the game.

The Sui Foundation delivers technical infrastructure and blockchain expertise, including implementation support for the zkLogin authentication system that simplifies user onboarding. Their ongoing development ensures the game remains at the cutting edge of blockchain technology.

Animoca Brands contributes Web3 gaming design expertise and market presence through their subsidiary Notre Game. Their experience developing successful blockchain games informed ONE Fight Arena’s balanced approach to digital ownership and play-to-earn mechanics.

This partnership extends beyond the game itself. Sui hosts additional ONE Championship digital products including a comic series and pick’em prediction games, creating an integrated entertainment ecosystem. This comprehensive approach means player investments and activities have relevance across multiple platforms.

Player Rewards and Real-World Benefits

ONE Fight Arena connects virtual achievements with tangible benefits through its reward system. Players can redeem Adrenaline Points for various real-world items and experiences:

VIP access to ONE Championship events

Official merchandise including apparel and collectibles

Digital meet-and-greets with ONE fighters

Premium tickets to live matches

The NFT fighters themselves have utility beyond gameplay advantages. As digital collectibles authenticated on the Sui blockchain, they represent scarce assets with potential appreciation value. Limited edition releases tied to major ONE Championship events have shown significant secondary market demand.

Early adopters have already demonstrated the real-world value of participation. During the Jakarta event in April 2025, several top players redeemed Adrenaline for ringside seating and exclusive post-event access to fighters, establishing a clear connection between game success and premium experiences.

Future Development and Ecosystem Expansion

The development roadmap for ONE Fight Arena outlines significant expansion plans that will further integrate Sui blockchain capabilities. Q2 2025 will introduce expanded NFT integrations including fighter skins, arena designs, and walkout animations that players can collect, trade, and implement.

Q3 2025 will feature the launch of cross-platform tournaments with enhanced $SUI prize pools, bringing together mobile and web players in unified competition. These tournaments will coincide with major ONE Championship events, creating a synergy between digital and physical competitions.

Long-term plans include deeper integration with live ONE Championship events. Players will be able to participate in real-time voting for fight outcomes, fighter entrances, and other interactive elements that influence broadcast presentations.

The connection to Sui’s growing ecosystem, including the integration with Walrus Protocol for the ONE Championship manga series, creates additional value opportunities for players. Assets earned in ONE Fight Arena will have increasing utility across this expanding digital landscape.

Binance Finalizes USDC Integration On Sonic Network, Deposit Support Now Live

Binance Finalizes USDC Integration On Sonic Network, Deposit Support Now Live

In Brief

Binance announced the completion of its integration of USDC on the Sonic network, with deposits now open for users.

Binance Completes USDC Integration On Sonic Network, Enables Deposits

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced the completion of its integration of USDC on the Sonic network, with deposits now open for users.

Currently, Binance supports USDC on Sonic as a bridged asset rather than a natively issued token. Sonic Labs manages the smart contract for USDC on Sonic, not Circle, the official issuer of USDC. As a result, this version of USDC is not directly issued or redeemable through Circle.

Earlier in the day, Circle shared plans to upgrade the Sonic blockchain from using bridged USDC to native USDC. Circle also noted that Sonic would adopt CCTP V2, the latest version of its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol.

Sonic, a high-throughput Layer 1 blockchain compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), is designed to support decentralized finance (DeFi) applications at scale. Its architecture allows for sub-second transaction finality and is theoretically capable of processing over 400,000 transactions per second, making it one of the most performance-oriented chains in the space. Since launching in December 2024, Sonic has quickly grown, becoming the leading network under the Bridged USDC Standard. As of now, the platform holds over $480 million in bridged USDC and nearly $1 billion in total value locked, spread across more than 125 applications.

Sonic supports a broad range of onchain applications, including decentralized exchanges, cross-chain liquidity protocols, high-frequency and derivatives trading platforms, payment services, and NFT marketplaces.

The network is now set to upgrade from bridged USDC to native USDC issuance. The upgrade will happen automatically, with no required action from developers or users. In addition, Sonic will integrate Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) V2. This protocol allows for direct, secure transfers of USDC across several supported blockchains, including Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, and Linea, , with more expected. With no need to lock up liquidity, CCTP V2’s burn-and-mint process enables secure, near-instant, and capital-efficient USDC transfers across blockchains with enhanced composability for post-transfer actions.

The transition to native USDC on Sonic is designed to streamline the user and developer experience by enabling a smooth, automatic shift from bridged USDC to native USDC, with no need for code updates or asset conversions. Native USDC is fully backed, regulated, and redeemable at a 1:1 ratio with the U.S. dollar. It also enables eligible businesses to access institutional on- and off-ramps through Circle Mint and supports fast, secure integration across supported blockchain networks.

Sonic To Suspend Bridging On May 6 Ahead Of Native USDC Upgrade And CCTP V2 Integration

The asset upgrade process is expected to take place over the course of about a week. On May 6, Sonic will temporarily suspend bridging activity for bridged USDC on its primary bridge with Ethereum, during which any pending transactions will be finalized. Following this, control of the bridged USDC contract will be handed over to Circle, which will facilitate the upgrade to native USDC on Sonic. Once complete, Circle will implement CCTP V2 on the network, establishing direct USDC interoperability between Sonic and other blockchains including Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, and Linea.

Loaded Lions Aim for GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ With Crypto Drone Display | NFT News Today

Loaded Lions, the flagship NFT collection from Crypto.com, will attempt to set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the largest aerial display of a currency symbol formed by multi-rotor drones.

The attempt is scheduled for May 1, 2025, in Miami, Florida, and will feature 1,200 drones creating a 10-minute display of the newly launched LION token symbol.

Drone Show Details

The current record, achieved by Gemini on March 13, 2025, involved 894 drones forming the Bitcoin (BTC) symbol. Loaded Lions aims to surpass that figure with a larger and longer drone performance that highlights the project’s recent expansion into cryptocurrency tokens.

Drone shows involve the coordinated flight of hundreds or even thousands of drones, each equipped with lights, to create moving images, logos, or messages in the sky.

According to the announcement, the record attempt is part of a broader effort to raise awareness of the Loaded Lions project and to bring greater utility to its community members by introducing the LION token.

Source Loaded Lions

The drone show will take place between the MacArthur Causeway and the Port Miami Bridge at 9:30 p.m. EST (May 2 2025, 01:30 UTC), one day before the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix starts.

Spectators are advised that the best viewing area is the waterfront south of the Port Miami Bridge (see the image above). Under favourable weather conditions, the drone formation may be visible up to 1.5 to 2 miles.

Loaded Lions has encouraged attendees and nearby viewers to capture photos and videos of the event, offering a giveaway worth $5,000 in LION tokens to five individuals. Details on how to participate will be announced via the project’s official X account.

Loaded Lions Expands Its Web3 Ecosystem

The Loaded Lions collection was the first platform-owned NFT project launched by Crypto.com. It comprises 10,000 unique, algorithmically generated profile picture (PFP) NFTs. Each NFT combines 150 hand-drawn traits, including different hairstyles, costumes, and accessories, with varying rarity levels.

Ownership of a Loaded Lions NFT provides access to the Mane Net, a membership community offering benefits such as VIP event experiences, exclusive giveaways, and early access to other Crypto.com NFT drops.

Over the next five years, Loaded Lions aims to expand its presence within the Web3 ecosystem, introducing features such as the LION token, community governance tools, Mane City gaming updates, and integrations with AI tech. The project has also announced plans to launch branded merchandise, organize global meetups, and introduce AI-supported gaming features to attract a broader user base.

Polygon’s Top New Blockchain Games of 2025 | NFT News Today

Polygon’s Top New Blockchain Games of 2025 | NFT News Today

Polygon has solidified itself as the go-to blockchain for next-gen games in 2025, thanks to its low fees, speedy transactions, and high scalability. This year has seen a wave of exciting game launches on Polygon, ranging from cyberpunk battle royales to fantasy card duels and even an on-chain football manager.

These games are pushing boundaries with innovative gameplay – think AI-powered characters, physical-to-digital collectibles, and community-driven metaverses – all while attracting passionate player communities.

Below, we dive into the top new Polygon-powered games of 2025 that are generating serious buzz. Each game brings something special, be it novel play-to-earn mechanics, big-name partnerships, or record-setting player engagement. Let’s explore the standouts lighting up Polygon’s gaming scene.

Delysium: Cyberpunk MMO with AI Companions

What it is: Delysium is a flashy open-world MMO set in a cyberpunk future (circa 2045) where the lines between the real and virtual worlds blur. It proudly markets itself as the first AAA blockchain game that is wholly player-owned, meaning your in-game assets truly belong to you. Currently in early access and building toward a full launch in 2025, Delysium already lets players roam a vast metropolis battling for resources and glory.

What makes it special: This game isn’t your grandma’s MMO – it features AI-driven NPCs called “MetaBeings” that players can recruit as auxiliaries. These AI companions can grind and farm loot on your behalf, earning you rewards even when you’re offline. It’s a wild blend of play-and-earn: you team up with AI sidekicks to clear missions, then trade or upgrade the loot you’ve gathered on the player-owned marketplace.

The graphics and scale are top-notch (built to be a “massive, immersive, persistent” world), and Polygon’s tech ensures all those NFT weapons and skins can be transacted with minimal cost. Delysium’s development is backed by notable investors and a partnership with Polygon’s own gaming arm to help with distribution and technical support. The result is a hype-worthy MMO where players not only adventure in a neon-soaked universe but also have a stake in its economy and direction.

Notable buzz: The combination of AAA visuals and AI gameplay has drawn considerable attention. A recent Epic Games store FAQ confirmed that the full PvP and PvE experience is slated for 2025 release, keeping fans eager.

With $4M in early funding and an alliance with Polygon Studios, Delysium is poised to be a flagship title demonstrating how blockchain can elevate a traditional MMO experience.

Gamers and crypto enthusiasts alike are watching this one closely, and so far Delysium seems ready to deliver on its ambitious promise of a decentralized cyberpunk adventure.

Matr1x Fire: Mobile Shooter Taking Web3 by Storm

What it is: Matr1x Fire is a 5v5 first-person shooter set in a slick cyberpunk metaverse. It’s the inaugural game of the Matr1x platform – a Web3 gaming ecosystem that fuses e-sports, NFTs, and online novels into one experience. Importantly, Matr1x Fire is mobile-first, available on iOS and Android, bringing play-to-earn mechanics to your fingertips. Think of it as an adrenaline-packed FPS deathmatch where your weapons, gear, and even characters can be blockchain assets you own.

What makes it special: Billed as “the first shooting-themed game in the metaverse,” Matr1x Fire stands out by combining familiar competitive gameplay with a deep crypto economy. Players can collect a vast array of NFTs – guns, knives, avatars, even virtual land – and these items carry across game episodes in the Matr1x univers.

The game uses a dual-token system: $FIRE as a utility token and $MAX as a reward coin for elite players (distributed via special airdrops to top performers). Victory in matches can earn you tokens, and high-level NFT holders even get chances at $MAX rewards, marrying skill-based gameplay with crypto incentives.

Notable buzz: Matr1x Fire has been “making waves in the gaming and crypto communities” as of April 2025. Its $FIRE token launched and quickly gained traction, achieving a market cap over $3M and sparking active trading on exchanges. The project has serious backing too – investors include heavyweights like Animoca Brands and HashKey Capital, underscoring confidence in its vision.

Early test versions in late 2024 introduced features like breeding new character NFTs and an in-game marketplace, which were well received by the community. With its slick graphics, fast matches, and play-to-earn hooks, Matr1x Fire is often cited as the Web3 shooter to watch. It’s effectively bringing a Counter-Strike vibe into the Web3 era, and doing so in a way that’s accessible (mobile) and rewarding for players.

Cross The Ages: Trading Card Game Bridging Physical and Digital

What it is: Cross The Ages (CTA) is a collectible trading card game (TCG) that blends fantasy and sci-fi themes. It’s free-to-play and mobile-first, but also available on PC. At its core, CTA plays like a strategic card battler – build a deck, duel other players in turn-based battles, and try to control the board.

Matches are fast and cerebral, typically lasting around five minutes of tactical card play. What sets CTA apart is its transmedia approach: it has an entire fantasy novel series as backstory, and the game’s cards feature art and lore from that universe.

What makes it special: This game truly leverages blockchain to create a full “value cycle” for its cards. In CTA, digital cards you win or purchase as NFTs can actually be converted into physical cards – real, tangible collectibles – thanks to embedded NFC chips that link to the blockchain. In other words, dominate in the digital arena and you might earn a holographic card to hold in your hand. This bridging of worlds has been described by the developers as delivering both a digital collection and “the opportunity to hold a physical version” for players.

The gameplay itself encourages strategic thinking: you start with 20 cards (drawn from a larger collection you build) and each duel is about clever placement and timing to capture territory from your opponent. It’s easy to learn but hard to master – exactly what you want in a competitive card game – and no NFTs are required to start playing, keeping it accessible.

Notable buzz: Cross The Ages has some of the strongest backing in the Web3 gaming sector. It raised $12 million in funding led by gaming giant Ubisoft and even Polygon Studios itself. In total, 15 investors including Animoca Brands have thrown weight behind CTA’s vision. This support makes sense: the game’s innovative NFT-to-physical mechanics and high-quality art/story have drawn a large community (over 170 team members are working on it, reflecting the project’s scale).

By mid-2025, CTA has rolled out multiple card set releases and regularly hosts tournaments. Players love that they can truly own and trade their cards, or even lease them in the in-game economyblockworks.co. With its blend of brainy gameplay and collectible hype, Cross The Ages exemplifies how blockchain can add a fresh twist to a beloved genre.

Voxies (Voxie Tactics): Retro RPG Fun with NFT Characters

What it is: Voxies is a 3D turn-based tactical RPG that feels like a throwback to classic JRPGs – think Final Fantasy Tactics or Fire Emblem – but with a Web3 upgrade. In Voxie Tactics (the flagship game), players form a team of voxelated characters and battle either AI or other players in strategic, grid-based arenas.

The game is free-to-play and does not require owning any NFTs to jump in, making it very newcomer-friendly. However, it does have an optional NFT component: the characters known as “Voxies” are also collectible NFTs, each with unique cosmetics and traits.

What makes it special: Voxies strikes a great balance between traditional fun and blockchain perks. On one hand, you have a polished, nostalgia-inducing RPG with colorful graphics and deep strategy. On the other, the game offers play-to-earn rewards (its native $VOXEL token) and true ownership of in-game items. Players who own Voxie NFTs can use them as in-game avatars and even earn extra rewards, but even those who don’t invest can enjoy the full gameplay and earn tokens through playing.

The economy is well thought out: $VOXEL tokens are used to purchase weapons, armor, and items in-game, creating a circular ecosystem. Uniquely, Voxies’ development team, AlwaysGeeky Games, includes veterans from Ubisoft and EA, so the game’s design pedigree is highglobenewswire.com. They’ve even brought on partners like Binance – in 2023, a Binance Learn & Earn program rewarded users with VOXEL tokens for learning about blockchain, attracting new players to Voxie Tactics.

Notable buzz: Voxies has a loyal following and a vibrant community, which is no surprise given its approachable nature. The game’s token ($VOXEL) launched on Binance Launchpad, and this exposure propelled Voxies into the spotlight as one of Polygon’s premier games. Ubisoft’s interest in Web3 gaming indirectly benefited Voxies too – AlwaysGeeky was part of Ubisoft’s Entrepreneur Lab, and the studio’s expertise shows in the game’s quality.

By 2025, Voxie Tactics has hosted multiple competitive seasons and even crossovers; its partnership with Binance helped distribute tokens widely, and players praise the devs for continuously adding new content (new voxel characters, weapons, and even mini-games). Backed by big names and beloved by players, Voxies proves that blockchain games can be as fun and accessible as any mainstream title, all while giving gamers extra ownership over their adventure.

DOLZ: An Adult Metaverse with NFT Collectibles

What it is: DOLZ takes blockchain gaming into an adults-only metaverse. It’s a platform that offers NFT-based trading cards and 3D content featuring adult entertainment themes, and it’s gearing up to launch a full-fledged multiplayer gaming ecosystem called XVERSE. In essence, DOLZ is part collectibles, part interactive experience.

Users collect NFT cards – many of which depict or grant access to content from renowned adult performers – and these NFTs aren’t just static images; they unlock mixed reality experiences (augmented, virtual, and extended reality performances) in the DOLZ metaverse. Imagine a virtual club where your NFT cards come to life as 3D avatars putting on a show – that’s the kind of experience DOLZ aims to deliver.

What makes it special: This project boldly merges the $100B adult industry with blockchain tech. Players (18+ only) can earn and own premium adult content NFTs and then use them in a gamified metaverse environment. For example, collectors can decorate a personal 3D virtual club space with their NFT items and watch exclusive shows that correspond to the cards they hold. Higher rarity cards grant access to more exclusive content (think legendary cards unlocking special performances).

DOLZ also employs a play-to-earn model: by engaging in the ecosystem, users earn a reward token called BabyDOLZ, which can be spent to get rare NFTs or other perksc. The platform’s own token, $DOLZ, is the utility currency for buying packs and participating in upcoming games. What’s impressive is the community traction DOLZ has achieved even pre-launch – it boasts thousands of active users and NFT card sales averaging $20,000 per week, signaling strong market interest in its offerings. And unlike many adult sites, here the users truly own their digital “magazines,” so to speak, and can resell or trade them on marketplaces.

Notable buzz: While DOLZ targets a niche audience, it has quickly gained notoriety in crypto circles for its unique blend of content and tech. Its NFT drops (for instance, a famous model’s limited edition card) have consistently sold out in minutes, hinting at a passionate collector base. The project is also branching into gaming – the upcoming XVERSE multiplayer will allow users to use their NFTs in interactive games (likely social or rhythm games tied to the performances).

Given that few platforms merge XR (Extended Reality) tech with NFTs as ambitiously as DOLZ, it’s seen as an innovator in the adult GameFi space. By 2025, DOLZ has secured listings on major exchanges (its $DOLZ token got a notable listing on MEXC in early 2024 and continues to expand content partnerships with adult industry brands. In short, DOLZ is making a mature case study of how blockchain can empower content creators and collectors in a way traditional adult media never could.

Huralya: Gaming with a Green, AI-Powered Twist

What it is: Huralya is a Dubai-based gaming studio that launched its flagship title Huralya: Genesis – an open-world adventure game with an environmental post-apocalyptic theme. In Huralya: Genesis, players find themselves on a mysterious island ravaged by ecological disasters. The gameplay combines survival, exploration, and community building: you solve puzzles, fend off invaders, and work to rebuild a shattered society, all while addressing environmental challenges in the game’s narrative. It’s free-to-play and accessible, aiming to draw a wide audience into its immersive world.

What makes it special: Huralya stands out by infusing real-world themes and AI technology into its gameplay. The studio’s mission is to make gaming not just fun, but also meaningful – imagine a game that subtly educates or prompts reflection on sustainability while you play. For instance, regenerating the island in-game involves managing resources wisely and overcoming ecological crises, echoing real global issues (hence Huralya markets itself as gaming for “self-discovery and growth” through entertainment).

On the tech side, Huralya uses advanced AI to enhance NPC interactions and game analytics, meaning the non-player characters you meet react in smarter, more dynamic ways. There are also competitive tournaments and even a player governance element: a DAO system allows the community to vote on the game’s evolution and new features.

All this runs on Polygon, with an in-game currency (LYA token) rewarding players for their adventures. Players can convert in-game items into NFTs, and use special S.Dude NFTs to gain boosts or advantages, linking the open-world RPG to a player-owned economy.

Notable buzz: Huralya is a newer entrant but has quickly earned praise for its unique blend of gameplay and purpose. By early 2025, it built a community of players who are not just grinding for tokens but also intrigued by the storyline and AI-driven features. Being based in the UAE, Huralya has attracted regional interest and was highlighted in Web3 gaming forums as a project to watch for its innovation.

Reviewers have called it “a dynamic and responsive gaming experience” because of how the game’s AI and DAO elements let it adapt to player behavior and input. In practice, this means if the community wants new challenges or balance changes, they have a say – the game can evolve like a living ecosystem. Huralya might not (yet) have the name recognition of some others on this list, but it epitomizes the forward-thinking spirit of 2025’s Web3 games.

By making environmentalism and player empowerment core to the design, it offers a glimpse of how blockchain games can differentiate themselves from traditional ones. Keep an eye on this one as it grows – it’s proof that Web3 gaming isn’t just about finance, but can tackle deeper themes while still being a blast to play.

Bullieverse: A Community-Built Metaverse Playground

What it is: Bullieverse is an open metaverse and gaming platform – essentially a virtual island called Bulliever Island where the community drives the content. Rather than a single game, Bullieverse is a whole universe of games, experiences, and social hubs. Players can roam the 3D island, play a variety of arcade-style games, socialize with others, and even create and publish their own games using Bullieverse’s low-code development tools.

It’s built in Unreal Engine, so the graphics are solid, and it supports play-and-earn mechanics across its ecosystem. The world is inhabited by funky bull-themed characters (the genesis NFT collection was a series of bull avatars), and owning one of these Bull NFTs grants you “citizenship” on the island with extra benefits.

What makes it special: Bullieverse is often described as “Roblox meets Web3”. It hands over creative freedom to the users in a way few other blockchain projects do. If you have an idea for a mini-game – say a racing game or a treasure hunt – you can use Bullieverse’s creator toolset to build it, drop it on the island, and invite others to play. This UGC (user-generated content) model is powered by blockchain under the hood: creators can monetize their games via NFTs or tokens, and players truly own items they earn in any game on the island.

The platform’s play-to-earn economy is governed by the $BULL token, and there’s also a governance token called COBI (Citizens of Bulliever Island) tied to the bull avatar NFTs. The developers have ensured a fair and transparent monetization system, so players get rewarded for participation and skill, not just spending.

Notably, Bullieverse has a low-code game builder, which lowers the barrier to entry for aspiring game creators (you don’t need to be a pro coder to craft a simple game). This has led to a variety of community-made games popping up, from a FPS called Bear Hunt to obstacle courses, expanding the content constantly.

Notable buzz: From its inception, Bullieverse has positioned itself as a community-first project, and that has paid off with a strong, engaged player base. Throughout 2024, the platform ran contests and creator incentives to populate the island with games, leading to hundreds of user-made experiences by 2025. The team also forged a partnership with Polygon early on to ensure smooth scaling for all these user transactions (minting NFTs for custom game items, etc.

This partnership even enabled features like a staking program for BULL, giving community members more ways to earn and participate. By 2025, BULL token got listed on major exchanges (KuCoin, Huobi) and the ecosystem kept expanding. Players love the social aspect – Bullieverse regularly hosts live events in its virtual venues (like beach parties and NFT gallery showings). The idea that “new players joining the community, creating their own games, and monetizing them” is not just a tagline – it’s happening continuously.

In a year where everyone talks about the metaverse, Bullieverse is one you can jump into right now, play a bunch of quirky games, or create your own and earn from it. It’s a bold glimpse into how user-driven the future of gaming could be, and Polygon’s infrastructure makes it all possible behind the scenes.

Pegaxy: Futuristic Horse Racing with Play-to-Earn Thrills

Pegaxy brings mythical mech-horses to the racetrack, letting players breed, race, and earn in a vibrant P2E ecosystem.

What it is: Pegaxy is a PvP horse racing game with a sci-fi twist – instead of real horses, you race winged mechanical steeds called “Pegas” in a futuristic arena. It’s one of Polygon’s veteran play-to-earn games, originally launching in late 2021, but it surged to fame during the 2022 GameFi boom and continues to gallop along with a dedicated community in 2025.

In each race, up to 12 players compete, and the goal is to finish in the top 3 to earn rewards. Races are influenced by randomized elemental factors (like wind, fire, water attributes), so part of the strategy is matching your Pega’s stats to the track conditions.

What makes it special: Pegaxy mastered the play-to-earn (P2E) formula early on. It features a dual-token economy: Pegaxy Stone ($PGX) as the governance token and Vigorus ($VIS) as the utility/reward token. Winning races yields VIS, which players can use for breeding new Pegas or cash out on exchanges. And yes, breeding is a big component – just like a digital stud farm, you can breed two Pegas to produce a new one, which can then be raced or sold. This has led to the formation of guilds and scholarship programs, where owners rent out Pegas to players who can’t afford one, sharing the profits.

In fact, Pegaxy has a built-in rental marketplace, making it easy to lend a Pega for passive income or to try out the game without buying an NFT. The gameplay itself is simple but exciting: no complex controls, just the thrill of competition and the simulation of a horse race where your preparation (feeding and training your Pega, or choosing the right gear) can influence the outcome. Pegaxy’s approach – accessible racing with a crypto economy – proved so popular that at its peak it boasted enormous user numbers and trading volume, rivaling even earlier NFT racing games like Zed Run.

Notable buzz: Although the broader P2E frenzy has cooled since 2022, Pegaxy remains a stalwart in the Polygon gaming ranks. It’s frequently cited as “one of the top games on Polygon, and with good reason”. The team at Mirai Labs (the studio behind Pegaxy) has continually updated the game: introducing The Grand Dash (a yearly tournament with major prizes), adjusting the tokenomics for sustainability, and enhancing 3D visuals of the races.

The community that formed during the early days is still active – many players stick around not just for earnings but because they genuinely enjoy breeding rare “founding” Pegas and speculating on their value. In-game NFT sales have reached impressive heights; certain rare Pega breeds have sold for thousands of dollars worth of MATIC at auction.

Pegaxy also helped prove that Polygon could handle high user loads – during its height, Polygon’s NFT transaction count spiked significantly due to Pega breeding and marketplace trades. Now in 2025, Pegaxy has stabilized with a more mature economy and remains a fan-favorite for those who love a bit of risk, reward, and racing excitement in their gaming. It’s a perfect example of a blockchain game that found a fun niche (mythical horse racing) and built an engaging, player-owned world around it.

Soccerverse: Fantasy Football Management on-Chain

What it is: Soccerverse is a browser-based football (soccer) management MMO that launched its Season 1 in January 2025. If you’ve ever played games like Football Manager or dabbled in fantasy football leagues, Soccerverse will feel familiar – but with a Web3 twist. The game puts an entire football universe on-chain: there are 5,350 virtual clubs and 140,000 player NFTs representing footballers, all living on the Polygon blockchain.

Players can take on various roles: become the manager of a club, invest in clubs as an owner, or act as a player agent trading and training talent. Matches are simulated biweekly, and club performance depends on the decisions of the managers and the stats of the player NFTs on the team. Essentially, it’s a massive multiplayer fantasy league where everything (from player transfers to club finances) is transparent and player-controlled via smart contracts.

What makes it special: Soccerverse’s claim to fame is being a fully on-chain sports simulation. Unlike traditional sports management games, where you’re at the mercy of the game company’s servers and rules, here the economy and governance are decentralized. All clubs and players in Soccerverse are NFTs that can be bought, sold, or co-owned.

Yes, co-owned – multiple people can team up to co-manage a club or invest in a star player, splitting revenue and decision-making. Real-world football knowledge gives you an edge, as the game cleverly mirrors real soccer dynamics: for instance, a star striker NFT might perform better if your midfield NFTs have high assist stats, and so on.

Moreover, real-life matches and player performances can influence the game – a bit like how fantasy football scores work – adding an extra layer of strategy. The game’s design encourages community collaboration: you might form an alliance with other club managers or engage in rivalry banter on Discord. By putting club treasury and player contract info on-chain, Soccerverse ensures a transparent, trustless FIFA-like experience.

No shady backroom deals – every transfer is a transaction everyone can see. To top it off, the game has its own in-game currency and a deep on-chain economy for things like stadium upgrades, training facilities, etc., making it as close to a “real” football universe as one can get in a simulation.

Notable buzz: Soccerverse scored a headline-worthy partnership when Square Enix (the famed game publisher) and Hiro Capital invested $3.1 million in the project in 2024. This brought its total funding to about $4M and added serious credibility – even traditional gaming companies are betting on this Web3 sports vision. Upon its Season 1 launch, the game welcomed back thousands of beta players and new managers eager to claim a club and start building their football empire.

The developers touted that “Soccerverse is more than just a game; it’s a passion project designed to bring fans closer to the sport they love”, and early adopters seem to agree. The community-driven nature is evident: the game’s features and tweaks in the 2025 roadmap were heavily influenced by player feedback during the beta (for example, the introduction of player academies and detailed scouting systems were community requests).

With the first live season underway, Soccerverse has effectively become a global football sandbox. Fans from different countries join to manage clubs (many even role-play as managers of clubs from their hometowns), and the on-chain club shares concept has led to some clubs having dozens of co-owners working together.

In short, Soccerverse combines two big passions – crypto and football – into an addictive strategy simulation. It showcases the power of Polygon by handling complex game logic and thousands of NFT assets seamlessly. For football fans, it’s a dream come true: a chance to prove your managerial prowess in a persistent world and potentially unearth the next Messi – as an NFT that you discovered and trained.

Conclusion: The Future of Web3 Gaming Is Here

From AI-driven MMO worlds to collectible card battlers and community-built metaverses, the games launching on Polygon in 2025 demonstrate just how far blockchain gaming has come. A few key trends stand out across these titles:

True Ownership & Player Economies: In each of these games, players genuinely own their assets – whether it’s a Delysium weapon, a Cross The Ages card, or a Soccerverse club – and can trade or sell them freely. This is reshaping how players value in-game progress. The old model of “grind and lose it all if the server shuts down” is fading. Polygon’s low-cost transactions and NFT infrastructure make it feasible to have thriving in-game marketplaces and economies where players drive value. Games like Pegaxy and DOLZ even show that entirely new economic models (scholarships, NFT rentals, etc.) can emerge around these assets.

Community Engagement & Co-Creation: A number of these games put community at the center. Bullieverse literally lets the community create games, and Huralya lets players vote on the game’s direction. Soccerverse has co-ownership of clubs, and Cross The Ages involves its community through lore and physical events. This points to a future where gaming communities are not just fan clubs but stakeholders. Developers are using DAOs, votes, and incentives to give power back to players – a far cry from the top-down approach of traditional games. It’s creating super-engaged fanbases; after all, if you helped build or fund part of a game, you’re invested (emotionally and financially) in its successใ

Innovative Gameplay Mechanics: We’re seeing gameplay innovations that wouldn’t be possible without blockchain. For example, Cross The Ages’ NFT-to-physical cards, Delysium’s AI MetaBeings earning you tokens, or Soccerverse’s on-chain simulation of an entire sports league. These are novel features that add depth or novelty to gameplay. Blockchain is not just a gimmick here – it’s enabling new genres (who would imagine an economy simulator for a fictional soccer world? yet it works) and blending of experiences (the adult content in DOLZ crossing into VR, or Voxies mixing old-school RPG fun with modern player ownership).

Major Partnerships & Mainstream Interest: 2025 has proven that big players are paying attention. Ubisoft, Binance, Square Enix, Animoca, and others are either investing in or directly collaborating with Polygon games. This legitimizes the space and pours resources into it, which means higher production values and reach. It’s not surprising that some of these Polygon games are available on major platforms like Epic Games Store and mobile app stores, further lowering the barrier for everyday gamers to step into Web3 gaming.

Overall, the top Polygon games of 2025 paint an exciting picture. They’re lively, community-powered, and technologically advanced, yet still approachable and fun like the games we’ve always loved. Whether you’re in it for the competition, the earning potential, or the sheer novelty of the experiences, there’s something on Polygon catering to your taste.

And this is likely just the start – with Polygon continuing to focus on gaming (even exploring dedicated game chains and zk-rollups for even better performance), the coming years could bring even more groundbreaking titles.

One thing’s for sure: the line between gaming and “playing with crypto” has all but disappeared. We’re simply playing games – it just so happens that now, our triumphs and trophies are recorded on-chain, forever ours. As 2025 has shown, that change is making games not only more rewarding, but also more community-driven and evolutionary than ever before. Game on!

How to work with Loop Workspaces in Teams Channels

How to work with Loop Workspaces in Teams Channels

I am excited how Microsoft Loop boosts internal collaboration but I have heard that not everyone has been happy to have to manage Loop workspace permissions separately from the Teams project team. Working with externals in a Loop has been also a bit difficult. But now things are taking a step forward! It is possible to add Loop workspaces to team channels! And you know what? These work with guest users too! This feature is now in public preview, so you may not see that yet in your tenant. Either you ask your admin to be part of the First Release / Teams Public Preview or wait until it becomes generally available.

How to add and use Loop workspace in team’s channelLoop Workspace in Teams channel tech specsGuest accessGuests and Loop components in the teamChannel meetings notes and guestsConclusion

It is as easy as adding a tab to the team: click the plus. This works on standard channels only.

A very easy way, is to search for Loop and then select the Loop app to add.

You will get a dialogue to confirm adding Loop.

After clicking Save, you can name your workspace.

The default name is the channel’s name. Feel free to change it. I named it Collab Loop

It will take a few moments, so wait a bit. Don’t open another tab or team, keep the Loop app window open until it finishes.

And then it is there! We have a Loop tab in a channel!

You can work with the Loop normally, the same way as using the Loop app.

If you click on the Loop page name, or actually anywhere in this area showing the Page name

–> the workspace navigation opens.

This navigation stays closed, until you click it open. The idea is to save more collaboration space you as Teams app canvas area is already smaller than using the Loop app.

Looking at the top right Loop menu, you can see you have all the usual Loop features available.

See shared locations

Copy as component

Share

Three-dots …

All but Share work normally. You can get a Page link and copy the page as Loop component normally, but sharing a Workspace is different.

As it is the team membership that defines who has access to the workspace, this Workspace share doesn’t have a purpose. You manage it just like managing team members.

Team owners will be Loop workspace owners, and team members can collaborate in the workspace.

The three-dots menu is also the usual one. But I don’t know if you noticed yet, that it is possible to lock a Loop Page to view only?

Short summary of technical specs regarding Loop Workspaces in Team’s team channels:

Works only on Teams standard channels

There can be only one Loop workspace per team channel. Yes, you can add another Loop tab but it is the same workspace and not a new one.

Each channel will have their own workspace

It is not possible to add existing Loop workspace to team channel ( at least not yet, hopefully so in the future)

Team channel workspace membership is managed by Microsoft 365 Group (= Teams team)

You can access all your workspaces in Teams’ channels in the Loop app too

If a Loop tab is deleted from the channel, the workspace is not deleted

If Loop tab is then added back, the workspace created earlier is added – a new workspace is not created

Loop workspaces in a team are deleted, when the team is deleted

If (when) you delete a Loop Page from the workspace, there isn’t a recycle bin option in Teams, but you can do so in the Loop app. Look to the bottom of the page, in the page list, to see Recycle bin.

In Recycle bin you can see all deleted pages and you can restore them.

Just note, items will be deleted from Recycle bin after 93 days.

Loop workspaces in Teams’ channels also work with guest users. If you have guests in your team, then guests are able to work along with you in workspaces and in Loop components that are stored in team channels!

Let’s test this by inviting Elmeri (our happy demo user) to the test team.

This is not any different than when inviting guests to work with you in a team.

After the guest has accepted the invite, and navigates to the team they can see the Loop workspace tab in the channel.

And when Collab Loop is opened, it takes a while (I have seen tab opening misbehave a few times, but nothing a jump to a different tab and back would not fix) and then the Loop workspace opens.

And the guest user is in, and can start to Loop in, using versatile collaboration features Loop has.

From the host tenant user perspective ( my demo user) , we can see Elmeri has the page open.

❗What is not possible, is to atMention a guest user. That is still missing,

When you add Loop components to the team, guests can collaborate and participate in those too!

Elmeri can edit Loop contents, in the channel conversation just like internal members can.

As long as the loop file is stored in team files, guests can collaborate in it.

Guests can now, the first time, also participate in meeting notes – as long as the meeting is a channel meeting, they are a member of the team and they have joined the meeting with their guest identity (not their home identity).

Let’s see this in action by creating a meeting.

Elmeri (our happy demo guest user) can open the meeting in team channel – and they collaborate in the meeting agenda / notes just like internal users can.

Guest users can collaborate with Notes during the channel meeting, and have full Loop features available to them.

Why this works? Since the channel meeting notes is a Loop component, stored in team files.

Note: guests won’t have access to private scheduled meeting notes, as those notes are stored in organizer’s OneDrive. Only channel meetings allow guest participation. This is now a good moment to think, which of meetings should be channel meetings after all – instead of scheduled “normal” meetings (private meetings).

To me, all this is really exciting! Not only we can use Loop workspaces in Team’s channels which connects Teams team teamwork (sorry, I had to ) with the modern / futuristic Loop capabilities. Directly from within Teams! It is opening a lot of new possibilities for organizations to work better together!

The second reason, why I am so hyped about this, is guest usage. Guests (external project members) can now, finally, collaborate with us (internal project members) in Loop workspaces in an easy way. Guest use has been in the Loop for a year, but it wasn’t this easy to use. And that is not all, as guests can also co-author Teams channel meeting notes with us during the meeting!

What do you think, will you Loop in your Teams channels?
