The Sony Inzone Buds are on sale for their lowest price yet

The Sony Inzone Buds, our favorite gaming earbuds, are currently on sale for their lowest price ever. Right now the $199.99 wireless, noise-cancelling earbuds are available for just $169 from Amazon and Best Buy.

Intended primarily for use with the PC and PlayStation 5, the Inzone Buds can pair with a variety of devices using their built-in Bluetooth connectivity or via a 2.4 Ghz wireless USB-C adapter (it’s otherwise seated inside the charging case). While the individual microphones built into each earbud won’t compete with a standalone mic, the buds easily match the audio quality found on most gaming headsets. Additionally, The Inzone Buds use the same drivers and noise-canceling tech found in Sony’s more expensive flagship WF-1000XM5 earbuds, giving them with excellent sound quality and noise cancellation.

By default, the sides of the earbuds feature built-in touch controls for playback, to toggle noise-cancellation, and to adjust the volume. The controls can also be remapped using the PC-based Inzone Hub software. If you’re looking for an alternative to bulky gaming headsets without having to sacrifice functionality or audio quality, or a new every-day-carry audio solution, we’d definitely recommend checking out this deal.

Texas Chain Saw Massacre 4K Steelbook Movie And Game Collector’s Set Is Out Now

Texas Chain Saw Massacre 4K Steelbook Movie And Game Collector’s Set Is Out Now

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 50th Anniversary Collector’s Edition Steelbook is now available at Amazon and Best Buy. If you only read the long-winded name, you’d probably think it’s a new 4K Blu-ray edition of the 1974 classic. That’s sort of accurate, as it does come with the iconic slasher film on 4K Blu-ray, but it’s actually a combo pack that exists because of the 2023 asymmetric multiplayer game. This special physical release for PS5 and Xbox Series X comes with a 4K Blu-ray of the legendary horror movie housed in a commemorative steelbook case and a pack of trading cards featuring characters from the game.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 50th Anniversary Collector’s Edition Steelbook

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 50th Anniversary Collector’s Edition costs $100.

The steelbook case features exclusive artwork by renowned artist Gary Pullin, who is known for illustrating a substantial number of posters, covers, and other promotional materials for iconic horror films. The collectible trading cards have a fittingly classic look. You can choose between PS5 and Xbox physical editions, both of which come with the 50th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. The set also comes with 13 DLC add-ons for the game, including two additional playable characters.

It’s a bit humorous that this collection is available at Best Buy, because the retailer stopped carrying Blu-rays this year.

While this is a cool collection for fans of the game and the original movie, if you’re only looking to own the movie, you can instead pick up The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 4K Steelbook for $33 (down from $55) at Amazon. This is essentially the same version of the film bundled in with the 50th Anniversary Collection, though the steelbook isn’t as cool. However, the 40th Anniversary Black Maria Limited Edition is pretty darn cool, as the 4K and 1080p discs are housed in a replica of the Black Maria semi-truck from the movie. Remarkably, it’s still in stock, and Amazon has discounted this five-disc set to $70 (was $100).

Back to the game: Our Texas Chain Saw Massacre review gave it an impressive 9/10, praising it for its intricate map design and rewarding gameplay that pushes you to experiment with your play style.

“The Texas Chain Saw Massacre plays, looks, and sounds like its team holds the source material in the highest regard,” wrote critic Mark Delaney. “Faithfully transposing the film’s signature terror into a modern multiplayer game is a feat on both ends. As one of the year’s scariest and best-designed experiences, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has reset the bar for multiplayer horror games.”

Top 20 best-selling video games in September 2024 – WholesGame

EA Sports FC 25 claimed the top spot on Newzoo’s overall revenue charts for September 2024, demonstrating strong performance across all individual consoles. The game made a remarkable debut, landing within the top three across multiple platforms, showcasing EA’s dominance in the sports gaming genre.

Trailing closely behind were NBA 2K25 and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, taking second and third place, respectively. Notably, Star Wars: Outlaws climbed three positions to No.6, propelled by its launch on Steam on September 19. Meanwhile, on the individual platform charts, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 led on PC, NBA 2K25 reigned on Xbox, and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom claimed the top spot on the Nintendo Switch, also landing at No.5 on the overall revenue list.

The month saw shifts not only in revenue but also in player engagement. EA Sports FC 25 made an impressive debut in the monthly active users (MAU) rankings at No.9, causing EA Sports College Football to slip one position. Meanwhile, God of War: Ragnarok experienced a resurgence, reaching its highest MAU count since December 2023 after its PC release, climbing to No.25.

Significant Position Shifts Across Platforms

Several notable engagement changes occurred across different consoles. EA Sports Madden NFL achieved a meteoric rise on the Xbox charts, surging from No.440 to No.15, signaling renewed interest in the title. Similarly, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 saw a major resurgence on PlayStation, jumping from No.184 to No.18, driven by increased interest of the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

In contrast, Black Myth: Wukong, which led the revenue charts in August, slipped dramatically to No.13, possibly impacted by new high-profile releases. On the engagement side, long-time favorites like Fortnite, Minecraft, and Roblox maintained their grip on the top spots, showcasing the enduring popularity of live-service games.

Revenue Chart Trends for September

The rankings reveal some interesting shifts compared to the previous month. Fortnite fell from No.2 to No.4, as newer releases dominated September. Meanwhile, God of War: Ragnarok shot up from No.91 to No.8, reflecting the success of its PC launch. Other titles, such as World of Warcraft and Valorant, saw slight drops in revenue rankings but remain within the top 20, highlighting their steady performance in competitive and MMO genres.

The Monthly active users charts show similar consistency, with Fortnite holding onto the No.1 spot. Noteworthy entrants include EA Sports FC 25 and NBA 2K25, both debuting in the engagement charts, signaling that these sports titles not only generate revenue but also maintain high player involvement.

These shifts in the charts underscore the impact of major game launches, seasonal events, and cross-platform releases, all of which are shaping the competitive landscape going into the holiday season. As we move into the last quarter of the year, it will be interesting to see whether EA Sports FC 25 and NBA 2K25 maintain their momentum or if new releases disrupt the current standings.

Review of Dragon Age: The Veilguard appears online early

Review of Dragon Age: The Veilguard appears online early

The review embargo for Dragon Age: The Veilguard is reported to lift today, ahead of the game’s release on October 31st. However, one website has accidentally broken the embargo, giving us a small glimpse of what to expected.

Noisy Pixel presumably got a little too excited and posted their review early. While it has now been taken down, it also appeared briefly on OpenCritic.

While I didn’t manage to peruse the full review before it was hastily taken down, a quote from it did appear on Opencritic, along with the score of 8.5 out of 10.

“Dragon Age: The Veilguard may have hit a few big stumbles along its path to release, but ultimately manages to deliver an innovative and fully-realized take on the series’ world, exploration, and combat. “read the quote. “The role-playing aspect has taken a minor hit in the process, but the game still boasts one of the best casts its studio has ever created, an engaging plot, and answers to many long-held questions, in addition to the best battle system in BioWare history.”

Dragon Age: The Veilguard has proven slightly divisive since it was officially revealed. The initial trailer’s tone caught fans off guard with how different it seemed to paint the new game compared to the grittier style of the previous titles. But gameplay released later on seemed to ease at least some of the doubt. That said, there is still a notable presence online rooting for the game’s failure. Despite that, it’s currently the number one pre-ordered game on PlayStation, indicating that people are at somewhat excited for it.

Of course, it’s rarely ever a good idea to pre-order a game, chums. Best keep your money firmly in your wallet until you can get some idea of a game’s state at launch.

Do you need to pre-order Monster Hunter Wilds to play that upcoming beta test? “The answer is no,” Capcom kindly reminds you

Do you need to pre-order Monster Hunter Wilds to play that upcoming beta test? “The answer is no,” Capcom kindly reminds you

It seems there’s been some confusion on who can play the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds beta test, and Capcom is here to set the record straight.

The issue with so many developers doing public beta tests for their games these days, is that they all do things differently – sometimes they’re open, sometimes they’re closed, sign-ups work differently from place to place, flowery complicated language makes it unclear who can even take part in them. It’s a bit of a ball ache to be honest, and clearly Capcom hasn’t done a good enough job at making it clear who can partake in the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds beta test, as the developer has taken to the series’ official Twitter account to clear up just who can partake in it – and to be clear, it’s everyone and anyone!

Manage cookie settings

“Hunters, we’ve seen some comments wondering if you need to have pre-ordered Monster Hunter Wilds to access the Open Beta Test,” reads the post on Twitter. “The answer is no, no pre-order is needed to play,” the account clarifies, before cheekily noting that “if you’d like to pre-order after playing the Open Beta Test, that’d be cool!” Part of the confusion probably came from the fact that PlayStation 5 PlayStation Plus players are getting to play it a couple of days before other platforms, but it’s good to have it made a bit clearer. That’ll obviously be quite welcome news to those of you hoping to try it out before pre-ordering the game, too.

Our own Dom got to try the game out at Gamescom earlier this year, coming away from it excited and curious for more, writing, “TL;DR? Monster Hunter Wilds is good. The combat feels scrappier and more in-your-face than ever before, with more tools at your disposal to mess up your prey and more control in your hands to make you feel like a true superhero with your weapon once you’ve got your movement and strings down. This is seriously going to be something special, and I cannot wait to play more.”

Monster Hunter Wilds is out February 28, 2025, on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Best-selling video games in the US – September 2024 – WholesGame

Top 20 best-selling video games in September 2024 – WholesGame

EA Sports FC 25 has stormed to the top of Circana’s U.S. charts for September, becoming the highest-grossing soccer game launch in history. The new entry achieved “double-digit percentage growth” compared to last year’s EA Sports FC 24, demonstrating EA’s continued dominance in the sports gaming market. EA Sports FC 25 not only led in total sales but also topped platform-specific charts for both PlayStation and Xbox.

PlayStation-exclusive Astro Bot made an impressive debut at No. 2, marking a breakthrough for the title and entering the year-to-date sales rankings at No. 25. Meanwhile, Madden NFL 25, which held the No. 1 spot last month, slipped to No. 3. The long-awaited The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom launched at No. 4, drawing attention as another blockbuster release. Rounding out the top five, EA Sports College Football 25 dropped from No. 2 to No. 5, continuing a trend of falling sports titles as new releases take center stage.

This month’s rankings saw five new entries break into the Top 10. Among them, NBA 2K25 entered the list at No. 7, followed by NHL 25 at No. 9. These placements demonstrate the seasonal impact on sports games, with fan excitement peaking during the launch of each major league season.

In the broader Top 20, niche titles like Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics debuted at No. 16, showcasing the enduring appeal of retro gaming. Additionally, Space Marine 2: Warhammer 40,000 entered the chart at No. 18, suggesting solid anticipation among fans of the Warhammer franchise.

The mobile sector also witnessed significant activity. Brawl Stars saw U.S. revenue rise by 64%, fueled by a collaboration with SpongeBob SquarePants. Similarly, Last War: Survival recorded a 42% increase in downloads, with daily installs peaking at 430,000, nearly tripling the game’s previous performance.

Despite the success of several new releases, U.S. consumer spending on video games in September dropped 6% year-over-year to $4.3 billion. A staggering 44% decline in hardware spending – to just $251 million – contributed significantly to this downturn. This marks the lowest hardware expenditure for September since 2019, underscoring potential consumer hesitancy ahead of the holiday season.

Software content, however, saw only a 3% dip, with total spending reaching $3.9 billion. Year-to-date figures reflect a 30% decline in hardware spending, now at $2.5 billion, while game content spending rose 3%, suggesting gamers are shifting their focus toward software over physical hardware.

Pinball FX – Goat Simulator Pinball Review | TheXboxHub

It’s time for a guilty admission: I’ve never played Goat Simulator before. In the hustle and bustle of day to day life, I’ve never had a chance to sit down and play the game. But what I have played a heck of a lot of is Pinball.

So, despite my unfamiliarity with Goat Simulator, when I heard Zen Studios was building a table based on the game, I knew I had to check it out.

Pinball FX Goat Simulator Pinball Review 1
Pinball FX Goat Simulator Pinball – a brilliant table

Needless to say, after playing the Pinball FX – Goat Simulator Pinball pack, I’m glad I did! I’ve played a decent number of tables that Zen Studios has made across Pinball FX on multiple platforms and Zen’s mobile offerings (primarily Bethesda Pinball and Pinball Masters). Goat Simulator is, without question, my absolute favourite of their original tables to date.

Bringing the world of Goat Simulator to life, players are tasked with launching a variety of balls (golf balls, soccer balls, basketballs, beachballs, etc.) out of a cannon into the playing field. They are faced immediately with a giant Ubisoft-like Goat Tower in the middle of the table, and upon launching into it can ascend right up the top of the spire. You can also launch balls up the spire, but good luck there.

From there, as you play the table, you get to take on a series of whacky tasks (from charging up 5G towers to getting a lawnmower to start running) and upgrade and electrify your ball. As you up the speed, the game gets crazy fast, leading to a frantic state of play.

Pinball FX Goat Simulator Pinball Review 2Pinball FX Goat Simulator Pinball Review 2
Electrifying.

The Goat Simulator Pinball table does a great job of striking a balance between arcadey and classic pinball. The table is very much indebted to the world of video pinball where balls can go at breakneck speeds and visual effects and living statues can breathe life into the table, but Goat Simulator grounds these fantastical elements in strong pinball fundamentals. If you stripped away the crazy speed and nuts tasks, you would still be left with a well designed table with a killer showpiece in the middle. The only area I can really criticize is that the play area is rather cramped to accommodate for the giant spire.

Goat Simulator Pinball is great value too. Pinball FX has a free-to-play base version, but if you want to add tables al a carte, Goat Simulator is among the strongest tables that Zen Studios has built.

All in all, I had a great time with the Goat Simulator PinballFX Pack. There is a genuine case to be made that Pinball FX – Goat Simulator Pinball is the G.O.A.T. of Zen Studios’ original tables. It also has exciting future prospects for other tables from Zen.

THE GOAT!

Recently, Zen Studios joined the Embracer family, which has a number of other beloved gaming franchises under its belt, including Deus Ex, Legacy of Kain, Tomb Raider, Saints Row, Metro and Remnant, as well as the Lord of the Rings rights. If Zen wants to make tables based on these properties, and they are given the same TLC Goat Simulator has been given, we could get some incredibly exciting new virtual machines in the not-so-distant future!

Only time will tell, but as of right now, run (preferably on four legs), don’t walk to check out this Goat Simulator Pinball pack. It’s anything but BAAAAAAAd (I’ll see myself out).

A Compelling Destiny 2 Conspiracy Theory, Black Ops 6’s Terrific Zombies Mode, And More Topics We Had Strong Feelings On This Week

This week saw the arrival of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and with it, the return of a classic Zombies experience. It’s terrific, and took our writer right back to the nights he spent happily playing the mode with friends back in the days of Black Ops 3. Meanwhile, the arrival of Destiny 2’s latest content update, and the terrible drop rate for god rolls on its hottest weapon, has some fans certain that there’s a statistical disadvantage for that drop to occur. The result is a compelling conspiracy theory about how loot drops actually work in Destiny 2, and given that the community has the statistics to back it up, Bungie is now conducting its own investigation. Find these stories and more in the pages ahead.
