Marvel Rivals is one of the most popular hero shooters of recent times, and it allows players to play with their favorite heroes and villains from the Marvel Universe. All hero shooters offer both competitive and casual play, allowing players to enjoy the game as they feel. It is the same with Marvel Rivals and it also has a similarity in offering multiple types of currencies. Each currency has a different use than the other one, which can confuse new players in the game. In this guide, we will go over all Marvel Rivals currencies and tell you what they are used for.
How Many Currencies Are There in Marvel Rivals
There are three different types of currencies currently available in Marvel Rivals. Every currency usage is different than the other as well as its obtainable method. Here are all the available currencies in Marvel Rivals.
Lattice: Premium currency
Units: Secondary currency
Chrono Tokens: Main currency
What is the Lattice currency and its Usage
Lattice is the premium currency in Marvel Rivals which is used for only two actions. You can use it to purchase any currently available seasonal Battlepass. The seasonal battlepass includes all kinds of rewards such as skins, cosmetics, currencies, and more. Another usage of Lattice is that you can convert it to Units and Chrono Tokens at a 1:1 ratio. For instance, if you want 100 more Units, you can use 100 Lattice and convert them into Units. The same goes for Chrono Tokens. However, it is recommended that Lattice be converted into Units because Units are rarer than Chrono Tokens.
Last but not least, to get Lattice, you will have to spend real-world money. The cheapest pack of Lattice is for $0.99 and it gives you 100 Lattice.
What is the Units currency and its Usage
Units is one of the main currencies in the game that you mainly use for purchasing cosmetics, skins, and bundles from the in-game store. So, in short, your main currency for purchasing any item from the store is Units. Moreover, as we mentioned above, you can convert Lattice into Units at a 1:1 ratio.
Furthermore, you can also get Units from certain Events like Entangled Moments and completing Achievements in the Heroic Journey category.
What is the Chrono Tokens currency and its Usage
Chrono Tokens is the main currency in Marvel Rivals that you will use to unlock the rewards from the Battle Pass. However, unlike Units, Chrono Tokens are more common. You can receive Chrono Tokens from daily missions and challenges. Moreover, you can also get some Chrono Tokens from the Achievements like Units.

While Path of Exile 2 and Diablo 4 currently dominate the ARPG space, with the latter game’s lead deeming similar games should be classed as “Diablo-likes”, industry veterans are reuniting to create an all-new entry in the genre.
Original Diablo lead designer Erich Schaefer and Diablo 2 lead programmer Peter Hu have joined forces alongside other ARPG alumni to form Moon Beast Productions. Following a round of seed funding, the studio is now officially looking to create a new ARPG franchise that learns from the developers’ past.
Ex-Diablo devs return to ARPG genre
Via a press release, Moon Beast Productions has successfully roped in a “network of angel investors”, including ex-Blizzard developer and popular live-streamer Cohh Carnage. Other investors include 1AM Gaming, 1UP Ventures, Overwold and more.
In the press release, Moon Beast Productions chief creative officer Erich Schaefer explained that the studio is hoping to create a new type of ARPG. Instead of static environments with hordes of mobs to slice and dice, the studio hopes to create “open, more dynamic” environments for players to battle through.
“We finally have the technological capabilities and decades of design experience to bring those visions to life. We’re going back to what made those early Diablo games feel so awesome but taking them in some cool, fresh directions,” the CCO explained.
Built for mods
Alongside the new focus, Moon Beast Productions’ new ARPG aims to create an ARPG designed for “user-generated” content on launch. This means that the game will support modding from the off, or at least be designed with it in mind.
The studio explains that the arrival of modding has resulted in massive successes, namely citing Warcraft 3’s popular DOTA mod.
“Our world technology is inherently dynamic, which makes it incredibly easy for players to create and integrate their own content,” explained Hu. “We’re building in-game tools that allow players to not just mod, but potentially create entirely new game modes using our robust, client-server ARPG systems.”
Moon Beast Productions has still not revealed its new ARPG, but it’s an exciting project. Alongside a new game from Age of Empires veterans, there is a new explosion of classic gaming alumni returning to their respective genres. Hell, even Peter Molyneux is back.

Kojima is developing action espionage Physint & horror title OD, both affected by SAG strike. SAG-AFTRA strike halted scanning & filming, impacting game development. Kojima plans Death Stranding film & events, faces delays, hoping to resume productions soon.
Aside from Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, legendary game developer Hideo Kojima also revealed that he was working on an action espionage game titled Physint, and a horror title in collaboration with Xbox named OD. Both titles are in development, though we haven’t heard about them in a while.
Hideo Kojima posted an end-of-year message on X (formerly Twitter), where the game auteur touched on the year’s happenings and info about OD and Physint’s development.

Hideo Kojima Says He Will “Keep Going” As Long As He Doesn’t Lose His Passion For Creation
60-year-old Hideo Kojima has no plans on jumping ship as long as his passion for creation keeps on existing.
Physint and OD Scanning And Filming Suspended Because of SAG Strike
Kojima started his message by noting the things that happened in the year, stating, “Thank you for all your support in 2024. It was a year full of many things: DS2 development, the release of our second trailer, ADR for the actors, music production and recording, Japanese voice recording. In the summer, we started to play and build up the game. We were also able to hold a TGS stage event for the first time in 5 years.”
Kojima then segued into OD and Physint and how the two titles’ development was affected by the SAG strike, adding, “For OD, we developed the game and had actor and environment scanning. In the second half of the year, scanning and filming were suspended due to the SAG strike. Casting was also suspended for Physint due to the strike. We hope to resume next year. “
If you’re unfamiliar with what’s happening, the Screen Actors-Guild (SAG)-American Federation of Television and Radio Arts (AFTRA) members went on strike on July 26, 2024. This kicked off after more than 18 months of negotiations fell through with some of the biggest video game companies, and it all stemmed from AI (Artificial Intelligence). You can read more about it here if you’re interested.

Continuing with Kojima’s message to fans, he lists some of his published work in Japan and noted the planning for the live-action Death Stranding film and events they sorted in 2024.
“Personally, I have an ongoing series of essays published in anan and Nikkei newspaper, radio programs “Hide Radio ♾” and “KOJI10,” a special episode of “HideoTube,” and also “Hidemys 2024” book fair, which I almost gave up on. I continued to comment on movies and novels, though fewer than usual. Preparations and planning for the live-action DS film with A24 as well as other adaptations are underway. I signed with WME. We also held a “Death Stranding Exhibition” at Shibuya PARCO (Nagoya and Osaka to be held next year). It was a year that went by in a flash,” Kojima ends.
While Kojima is busy with Death Stranding 2, we hope the development hitches with OD and Physint are resolved ASAP. I mean, Kojima isn’t known to be someone who develops games swiftly, and any hindrances, such as the strike, will only add to the wait for those eager to see what Kojima’s following projects are.
The last we saw of Death Stranding 2 was in September with a new trailer where Kojima unveiled a different kind of Photo Mode.

In recent years, influencer marketing has become a pivotal component of digital marketing strategies. As social media continues to evolve, so too does the role of influencers within this dynamic landscape. With technological advancements, new platforms, and shifting consumer behaviors, the future of influencer marketing is rife with possibilities. This article explores future trends for influencers, delving into the evolving landscape, the influence of technology, and the emergence of new platforms.
The Evolving Landscape of Influencer Marketing
The landscape of influencer marketing is undergoing significant transformations. Traditionally, influencers were seen as individuals with a large following on social media who could sway the purchasing decisions of their audience. However, as the market matures, brands are seeking more authentic and meaningful engagements. This shift has led to a rise in micro-influencers, who, despite having smaller followings, often boast higher engagement rates and more niche audiences. This trend is expected to continue, with brands increasingly valuing quality over quantity.
Moreover, the definition of an influencer is expanding. No longer confined to social media platforms, influencers are now recognized across various digital spaces. From bloggers and podcasters to YouTubers and TikTok creators, the scope of influence is broadening. This diversification allows brands to tap into different content formats and cater to varied consumer preferences, enhancing their marketing strategies.
The relationship between influencers and brands is also evolving. Instead of one-off partnerships, there is a growing emphasis on long-term collaborations. Such relationships enable influencers to become genuine advocates for the brands they represent, fostering trust and loyalty among their followers. This trend is likely to persist as authenticity remains a cornerstone of successful influencer marketing.
Additionally, influencer marketing is becoming more data-driven. Brands are leveraging analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of their campaigns, track engagement metrics, and understand audience demographics. This data-centric approach allows for more targeted and personalized marketing strategies, ensuring that brands reach the right audience with the right message.
Regulatory changes are also shaping the influencer landscape. With increased scrutiny on transparency and authenticity, influencers are required to disclose sponsored content more clearly. This push for transparency is reshaping the way influencers operate, encouraging more honest and open communication with their audiences.
Finally, the global nature of social media means that influencer marketing is not limited by geographical boundaries. Influencers can reach international audiences, allowing brands to expand their reach beyond local markets. This globalization of influencer marketing presents new opportunities for brands to connect with diverse audiences around the world.
Technological advancements are playing a crucial role in shaping the future of influencer marketing. Artificial intelligence (AI) is at the forefront of this transformation, offering new tools for content creation and audience analysis. AI-powered platforms can assist influencers in generating content ideas, optimizing posting times, and even automating interactions with followers. This technology enables influencers to enhance their productivity and maintain engagement with their audience.
Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are also making inroads into influencer marketing. These technologies offer immersive experiences that can captivate audiences in unprecedented ways. Influencers can use AR filters to create engaging content or host virtual events using VR, providing their followers with unique and interactive experiences. As these technologies become more accessible, they are likely to become integral components of influencer strategies.
Blockchain technology is another advancement with potential implications for influencers. It can provide more transparency in transactions, ensuring that influencers are fairly compensated for their work. Additionally, blockchain can facilitate the creation of decentralized social media platforms, offering influencers greater control and ownership over their content and data.
The rise of voice search and smart speakers is influencing how content is consumed. Influencers are beginning to explore audio content, such as podcasts, to reach audiences who prefer listening over reading or watching. This shift towards audio content requires influencers to adapt their strategies and develop new skills to engage effectively with their audience.
Machine learning algorithms are transforming the way influencers and brands connect. These algorithms can analyze vast amounts of data to identify potential influencer-brand matches based on audience demographics, interests, and engagement patterns. This technology streamlines the process of finding the right influencers for specific campaigns, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of influencer marketing.
Finally, advancements in live streaming technology are enabling influencers to connect with their audiences in real-time. Live streaming offers a level of immediacy and authenticity that pre-recorded content cannot match. As internet speeds and streaming capabilities improve, live streaming is expected to become an even more prominent feature of influencer marketing strategies.
New Platforms and Their Impact on Influencer Reach
The emergence of new social media platforms is continually reshaping the influencer marketing landscape. Each platform offers unique features and attracts different demographics, allowing influencers to diversify their reach and engage with varied audiences. TikTok, for instance, has exploded in popularity, especially among younger users, providing influencers with a platform for short, creative, and viral content.
Clubhouse, an audio-based social media platform, has introduced a new way for influencers to engage with their audience. By participating in live discussions and hosting rooms, influencers can connect with followers in a more personal and interactive manner. This platform’s emphasis on conversation and community presents new opportunities for influencers to build relationships and establish authority in their niche.
While established platforms like Instagram and YouTube remain popular, newer platforms like Triller and Byte are gaining traction. These platforms offer alternative spaces for influencers to explore creativity and reach audiences that might not be active on mainstream platforms. As these platforms grow, they present opportunities for influencers to be early adopters and establish a strong presence before the market becomes saturated.
The rise of e-commerce-focused platforms, such as Pinterest and Instagram Shopping, is also impacting influencer marketing. These platforms allow influencers to seamlessly integrate product recommendations with shopping experiences, making it easier for followers to purchase featured items. This integration of social media and e-commerce is transforming influencers into key drivers of online sales.
Emerging platforms are also fostering niche communities. Platforms like Discord and Reddit allow influencers to engage with highly targeted audiences, facilitating deeper connections and more meaningful interactions. By participating in these niche communities, influencers can position themselves as experts and build loyal followings within specific interest groups.
As new platforms continue to emerge, influencers must remain adaptable and open to experimentation. Each platform presents unique opportunities and challenges, requiring influencers to tailor their content strategies to suit the platform’s format and audience preferences. By staying attuned to these changes, influencers can continue to expand their reach and maintain relevance in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
The future of influencer marketing is poised for exciting developments. As the landscape evolves, influencers and brands must adapt to new technologies, platforms, and consumer expectations. By embracing these changes, influencers can enhance their roles and continue to play a vital part in shaping the digital marketing ecosystem. As we explore the future trends for influencers, one thing is certain: the power of influence will remain a driving force in the world of marketing.
I have had it with the Nintendo eShop and am moving to Steam. The eShop is all trash, all the time now, and there’s nothing good to review anymore. I could review crap, I guess, but it gets repetitive and my mental health suffers. Take a look at what I have to deal with:
Trash, Trash, Trash!
I can only rant about it so many times, pull my hair out so many times. The Switch is a dead console walking. Granted, it is the end of the year, when releases slow, but I doubt its going to change much in the new year. The Switch 2 is on the horizon, but I’m not waiting any longer for Nintendo to get their house in order. The Game Slush Pile is refocusing on Steam games and minimizing the Switch for the time being.
I am under no illusions that doing this won’t be without its challenges. For one thing, Steam has its own curator system, plus customer reviews. So that means I have to work a little harder to get the word out. That is why, in the new year, I will be starting a Game Slush Pile Steam Group! I will also be branching out into TikToks/Youtube shorts, to spread the word.
Steam has its own share of trash, but its easier to sift through.
There are other reasons for the move to Steam too. The Game Slush Pile makes no money. It is an expensive hobby for me. While I have restarted ads, and have a donations page but make basically nothing from either. I get inundated with Steam keys on Keymailer, which means I can keep game costs down. But fear not, the kind of reviews you have come to expect from me are going nowhere, I just need to work within a tight budget here, and expensive reviews, such as the Rollercoaster Tycoon one just cannot happen anymore.
The Game Slush Pile is not going anywhere, and hopefully onward and upward from here with the move to Steam.
P.S. Any donations to Mordie’s “Buy a Steam Deck Fund” are greatly appreciated!! ^-^
Boxing is a full-body workout. Deceptively so — you’re just moving your arms, how tough could it be, right? But if you’re throwing a punch correctly, you’re putting your entire body into that motion. A boxing punch should involve a whole set of simultaneous movements that engage your legs, your core, your shoulders, and your arms. Fitness Boxing 3 cannot offer the same experience as an in-person trainer correcting your every move. But it does provide a series of easy-to-learn routines and daily workouts that ramp up into a regimen that could whip you into shape about as well as attending regular in-person group boxing classes.
As the first paragraph demonstrates, I’ve taken in-person boxing lessons. (Before I got into boxing, I also taught karate professionally for years; I have a black belt in Uechi-Ryū.) So, I have a lot of opinions about martial arts training. It should therefore come as no surprise that I would recommend you take at least one in-person boxing class if you want to really understand how to maximize the workout that you can get from it. Fitness Boxing 3’s virtual trainers won’t be able to tell if you’re punching incorrectly and not using your entire body to the extent that you should. In fact, when I missed a punch in-game, Fitness Boxing 3 would almost always give me a “Perfect” or at least an “OK” score on it; the motion sensitivity of handheld Joy-Cons is far from pristine. But because I’ve taken boxing classes in real life, I knew when I was doing it right, and so I was able to correct my own form and get a great workout from the routines in this game.
Let’s just say you have no intention or time or energy to take an in-person class. How will Fitness Boxing 3 fare as your sole teacher? Well… fine, if a bit lifeless. After completing the first few days of daily workouts in FB3, you can select from a roster of trainers and, over time, unlock different outfits for them. You can even decide how much they compliment you during a workout (I personally found this creepy, although some might find it encouraging — do whatever helps you). They all have somewhat dead eyes and narrowly defined body types (the women in particular are teeny-tiny) that don’t much resemble the diversity of the real people who pursue boxing at real-life gyms around the world. That body diversity at my gyms always inspired me, but again, we’re assuming you’re not going to go to a gym and this game is what you have.
My fitness age is “20” according to my score screen here, but by the end of this workout, I was feeling every single one of my actual 38 years on this planet.Image: Imagineer/Nintendo
After several days of FB3 workouts, if you are performing the exercises correctly (and perhaps even if you aren’t), you will get the accompanying muscle soreness that will illustrate the potential long-term benefits of boxing. The game includes all of the actual standard punches and typical combinations that real boxing instructors will teach their students, and it teaches them to you much more slowly and methodically than most classes, which is the main benefit of this game (I definitely felt intimidated and lost at my first in-person group class; it got easier, but obviously a group class isn’t going to go at your pace). You won’t have the benefit in FB3 of learning to use a punching bag (something most in-person classes will incorporate and provide, along with gloves and hand wraps), but even just punching the air for 35 minutes — if you actually use your full body each time — will leave you drenched in sweat and developing muscle mass in places that many other workouts don’t touch.
Dissimilar to going to a gym, playing FB3 rewards you with various typical gamification systems to keep you logging in day after day; you’ll earn points and unlock trophies for completing different workouts and routines, and your trainer will soon start encouraging you to work out harder and longer (within reason). If that’s the sort of motivation that helps you stay on track with a new exercise regimen, FB3 will hit all of the right notes.
Its soundtrack will not. In theory, FB3 is a rhythm game in which you hit the punches to the beat of the music that plays in the background. Because the Joy-Con motion tracking is so forgiving, however, this barely matters, and the game’s music is boring and forgettable. Once you’ve got the hang of the standard punches and the timing of most combinations, turn off the audio and put on a soundtrack of your own. I punched along to the speed of my own workout music and still got “Perfect” hits the majority of the time (and had a much better time doing it, since a good workout playlist is half the fun of working out, I say).

The last big downside of Fitness Boxing 3 is: It’s Fitness Boxing 3, and that’s it. By that I mean, it’s just boxing. Traditional boxing combinations, over and over. There’s a lot of variation within that framework, but it’s not like a real boxing gym where there are other options — hitting the bag, running drills, working up to sparring sessions, maybe even incorporating some free weights. This game is just… punching the air. That’s all, every single time. And if you’re anything like me, you need more than one kind of workout in your week, or you get bored. (It’s like how I need to constantly be making new workout playlists or I get bored. Same deal.)
Luckily, the Nintendo Switch has some excellent workout video games on offer. Ring Fit Adventure is a longtime favorite in our household, as well as the Just Dance series. I would also recommend fleshing out your home gym with a set of free weights and a copy of Casey Johnston’s weightlifting book for total beginners (Liftoff: Couch to Barbell).
Fitness Boxing 3 is another great addition to my current home gym setup and ongoing video game library of workout options, and I was surprised by how comprehensive it was. I had personally fallen off the wagon with boxing after the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and the game reminded me how much I love it — and it let me remember that in a simple, approachable way that didn’t make me feel bad for how many years it’s been. Whether you’re trying to get back into boxing or you’re a total newcomer to the sport, Fitness Boxing 3 will teach you the basics and show you how intense the ramp-up can become. It just might inspire you to buy a punching bag… or even go to a place that has a lot more of them.

From the first trailer, I knew Neva would be an emotional experience. Nomada Studio’s previous game, Gris, was a poignant exploration of grief and the effects it can have on a person, told through the lens of a young girl who’d just lost her mother. Neva explores familial bonds through a different but just as emotional lens: parenthood.
The relationship between Alba and Neva mirrors a mother/child relationship through most of the game. The wolf starts as a small cub, curious about the world and ready to explore, and eventually he becomes a strong protector, equaling his mother’s capabilities. From there, the two fight against the blight that’s affecting the world, with Neva learning new abilities in every season.
The journey encompassing this coming of age includes some of the strongest voice acting you’ll find in a video game this year. However, unlike games like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Metaphor: ReFantazio, which are bursting with dialogue, Neva accomplishes this feat with a much smaller script; throughout the entire five-hour adventure, only one word is ever spoken.
One of many gorgeous scenes throughout Neva.
Neva’s control scheme is standard fare for an action-platformer: one button to attack, one button to jump, one button to dodge, etc. Included in the control scheme, though, is a button specifically designated for calling Neva. No matter what you’re doing, or where you are, a simple press will make Alba say “Neva” and call out for the good wolfie girl.
While the mechanic has its uses–you can call Neva to your side if she’s far away, or instruct her to jump up a ledge–it’s mostly just there for the player’s enjoyment. Calling Neva usually results in Alba giving her companion a little scratch behind the ears–which means yes, in Neva, you can pet the dog.
Its biggest contribution to the story, and what sends Neva into the upper echelon of 2024 voice acting, is the emotion Alba conveys whenever the button is pressed. When there’s little danger around, and Neva is sniffing around or standing still, Alba’s voice is calm, loving, and light. The character’s love for her companion comes through, especially when it’s followed by sounds of delight from both characters following a loving head scratch.
Press that button in a more urgent moment, however, and Alba’s voice becomes much heavier. There’s urgency in her calls, permeated by a sense of panic. Her anxiety and fear come to the surface, and all it takes is a change in inflection. It’s powerful stuff, and it makes using the call button more than worth it even in hectic situations.
Neva is trapped, and Alba fights to free her companion.
There’s one moment in particular that really highlights how effective this voice acting can be. Alba and Neva are separated, and the player as Alba must traverse a perilous maze in order to reunite with the wolf. Throughout this endeavor, pressing the call button makes Alba utter a cry of pure terror, helplessly shouting into the void in search of her lost companion. The fear of the unknown is palpable, and I start to feel Alba’s anxiety with her as I hear her call the wolf’s name.
Now, putting Alba’s ability to call out for Neva on a button is not without its pitfalls. By doing this, Nomada ran the risk of some players not being able to hear the exceptional voice work at hand, simply because they were so focused on the action on screen that they were too busy attacking and dodging to press the call button.
However, Nomada brilliantly trained us to keep it in the back of our minds through the mechanic I mentioned earlier: the one where Alba uses her call to summon Neva to her side. The player now knows that calling Neva can summon her, so once the two are separated, it’s natural to press the button and see if it works–and when it doesn’t, to keep trying it in the hopes that maybe it will work eventually.
Anyone who’s ever been in care of a child and lost sight of them–be it in a store, a theme park, or even in their own homes–can relate to this feeling of paralyzing fear, uncertainty, and doubt… as well as the feeling of sheer relief when Alba finds Neva happily sitting on a platform, not a care in the world, as if nothing happened. Kids these days!
Neva is a profound analysis of parenthood, and all of the highs and lows that come with it. The raw emotion is best conveyed through its voice acting, credited to Cristina Peña, and putting Alba’s voice under the player’s control makes it that much more effective. Nomada Studio deserves a ton of credit for finding a way to convey the intricate complexities of being a caregiver–and even more credit for doing it with a single word.
