NetEase has released the latest Marvel Rivals Patch Notes for the game’s latest update. Releasing on Aprul 24 at 09:00 UTC, the hero shooter’s latest patch includes a tonne of new additions to the multiplayer game.

Alognside a host of tweets, the latest Marvel Rivals patch is adding a rand new game mode in the form of Brain Blast. For the full details on the Giant-Size Brain Blast mode, click here for more. Additionally, the new update will bring new costume bundles, emotes and more.

The new Marvel Rivals Patch Notes also state that the game will launch the update with zero server downtime. Instead of the game going down for maintenance to launch the new update, players will simply be able to update and play.

Quick Match/Competitive missions have no cap on repetition, while Conquest/Doom Match missions feature a daily repeat limit. Your hero proficiency is about to get as lordly as your feats!

Fixed a rare issue where players would sometimes find themselves stuck on the round-switch transition screen.  

Resolved a glitch on the Krakoa map where the emote wheel occasionally couldn’t be used, except for the bottom-right segment.  

Fixed a Faction system bug where after a single name change, the name could not be changed again even after the cooldown period.  

Resolved an issue in the Faction Recruit interface where non-leaders saw a “Only Leader Can Select” label on the Confirm button.  

In Custom Game – Tournament Room settings, coaches now have an option to hide opponent voting displays in Competitive matches.

Fixed an issue where the first time entering a new season’s Battle Pass screen or the moment when season-end settlement pops up and rapidly switching to the next page would sometimes cause the navigation bar to vanish.

Fixed several terrain issues that could cause characters to sometimes become stuck or clip into strange areas.

Emma Frost’s Diamond Dynamite: Fixed a glitch in Diamond Form where her Carbon Crush would sometimes catapult foes underground—or even off the map! Now, when Emma dazzles, every move lands as sharp as a perfectly cut gem!  

Mister Fantastic’s Fantastic Flex Fix: Resolved an issue when Flexible Elongation aimed at enemies through portals would occasionally twisted his movement trajectory into the wrong direction. Now, when Mr. Fantastic bends the rules of physics, his is as precise as his genius!  

Iron Fist’s Chaotic Kick: Squashed a bug causing Iron Fist’s K’un-Lun Kick to suddenly rollback in high-latency battles. Now, his moves blast forward with the unstoppable momentum of a true warrior!  

Psylocke’s Wing Shurikens Tweak: Fixed a glitch where Psylocke’s Wing Shurikens would sometimes lose damage after striking Loki’s arm. Now, with the trickster god kept in check, her psionic shurikens strike with all the precision and brilliance of a ninja!  

Star-Lord’s Sleepy Swagger: Resolved an issue where Star-Lord’s Spartax Slumber emote was missing his signature facial animations when used during a match. Now, when he starts to nod off his playful attitude will shine through, proving that even in chaos, he’s the coolest guy in the galaxy!  

Squirrel Girl’s Animated Antics Revival: Corrected an issued with Squirrel Girl’s default emote where facial expressions where missing when used in a match. Now, when she unleashes her quirky charisma, every nutty moment is captured with the full force of her animated personality!  

Invisible Woman’s Shield Surge Update: Fixed an error in the recovery rate of Invisible Woman’s Guardian Shield.  

While this is only a minor update for NetEase’s popular hero shooter, a lot more content is on the way for the game in the future. With Season 2.5 on the way, brand-new heroes are coming to the game as well as new maps, modes and events.

As for current leaked heroes, we’ve already seen evidence of Daredevil jumping from Hell’s Kitchen into the game, and NetEase may have accidentally revealed a brand-new mutant in a recent developer doc video.

Ghost of Yotei Release Date Announced


Grab your swords, people, because Sony has surprised us by randomly announcing Ghost of Yotei’s release date.

The sequel to the outstanding Ghost of Tsushima will launch on October 2nd for PS5, which just so happens to be my birthday. A new trailer for the game was also released to celebrate the announcement.

“Sixteen years ago in the heart of Ezo (called Hokkaido in present day), a gang of outlaws known as the Yōtei Six took everything from Atsu,” reads the blurb. “They killed her family and left her for dead, pinned to a burning ginkgo tree outside her home. But Atsu survived. She learned to fight, to kill, and to hunt, and after years away she has returned to her home with a list of six names: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.”

The trailer gives us a few fun glimpses of gameplay, like a wolf companion wrecking enemies. My favourite detail is that protagonist Atsu uses her list of targets to clean her blade. That’s freaking badass.

A complicated history for this one, with the developer Rocket Jump Technology no longer existing as a business. The previous iteration of the game named King under the Mountain went open source back in January 2024, and now what was to be the big revamp is also open source.

Still a shame what happened. In short: the developer made King under the Mountain, then an unnamed “well-known” publisher came in with funding to greatly improve and expand it but they had to re-launch it under a new name (Mountaincore). The publisher eventually backed out, but allowed the developer to continue with the funded work and still release it. Early Access wasn’t enough to keep Mountaincore going, so they eventually shut the studio.

Having both versions of the game now open source is a great outcome though, another big project for people to learn from and perhaps continue elsewhere.

The next big event is headed for NetEase’s Marvel Rivals. Apparently, the devs have gotten frustrated at players missing easy headshots – now, it’s all headshots, all the time.

The Giant Size Brain Blast event is exactly what it looks like. Those classic big-head-mode cheat codes have been brought into the default experience, and promise free rewards for anyone looking to grind them out.

While the exact details of this event remain under wraps (thanks, MarvelRivals.gg), there is a good deal we already know.

First and foremost, a release date. The chaos starts on April 25th, and if you play at least 10 rounds of it during the festivities, you’ll get an emote for a character of your choice. What is the emote? You’ll never guess – it makes their head big.

You’ll also pick up a Title reward, depending on how you do. The top 10, 100, and 500 players of each character will get a corresponding title.

Naturally, when the event ends, so do your chances at these rewards. Welcome to free-to-play, baby.

Beyond the obvious gameplay implications, we don’t yet know how exactly the event will play out. The adapted game mode, for instance, remains a mystery.

Another challenging puzzler has graced our C64 screens today, as thanks to Saberman letting us know through Facebook, he has told us that if you head on over to the itch.io website linked below, you can download the latest release of ‘Kye’ by cobbpg ; A C64 port of Colin Garbutt’s puzzle game from 1992, Kye. In light of this news, especially if you like Puzzle games then make sure to check out the latest gameplay footage provided by our good friend Saberman.

Here is what is described about the original game located (here) : “This is a shareware puzzle game, registration originally designed to support the charity “Save the Children.” In it, you play a green ball whose object is to go through the maze and get all of the diamonds. There’s many enemies that you have to watch out for, but you’re also given many tools to help you deal with the enemies. You’re given a hint at the beginning of each level, and the level name at the end.”

UPDATE : It has been some years since we played the Commodore 64 port of Colin Garbutt’s Puzzle game. Well fast forward to this week however, and we’ve just been told that Patai Gergely has released the Commodore Plus/4 version. As in the words of the Plus/4 website. “After the very popular Stunt Car Racer, cobbpg with adaption by Patai Gergely, is back with his second conversion: Kye! The original game is by Colin Garbutt from 1992. The goal of the game is simple: move around with the green circle thing and collect all the diamonds. It’s up to you to discover the rules! The game is controlled with the joystick in port 2 exclusively; there’s no keyboard input. Most notably, the music is done using a new custom music player, read the details on GitHub. Check it out!”

The long-rumoured The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion remaster has been revealed, and it’s out today for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and with ‘day one’ tiers of Xbox Game Pass as well.

So, what do we think of that? While Skyrim is easily the biggest and best-selling entry in the long-running RPG franchise, there’s plenty out there that prefer Morrowind or Oblivion, making these earlier games ripe for a graphical remake treatment. With Oblivion now in a much more modern game engine, the hazy bloom effects that were so popular in the early days of the Xbox 360 have been dropped, and there’s more realistic and nuanced lighting being cast across significantly more detailed, revamped environments.

The game is now graphically running on Unreal Engine 5, but the original Oblivion engine is still running in the background to tell it what to do. According to Virtuos, every single asset has been remade by hand, and there’s a new lighting engine. The gameplay has also been tweaked, there’s updated UI and UX, and a new levelling system inspired by both Oblivion and Skyrim. They have also reworked the third person view and made it more modern, as well as adding sprinting, something that was not present in the original game.  Each race has had their audio re-recorded so they all sound different but the mini-games such as lock picking remain unchanged, albeit with new graphics.

Both standard and deluxe editions of the game are available, with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Deluxe Edition including bonuses like extra weapons and horse armour – a nod to the infamous horse armour DLC for the original game. The standard game includes all the expansions including The Shivering Isles.

The game has been developed in collaboration with Bethesda Dallas and Bethesda Rockville working alongside Virtuos. Unfortunately for Bethesda, this external partner was the source of last week’s blowout leak. Sure, this had been reported on ever since it was mentioned in unredacted court documents a few years ago, but last week saw enterprising internet denizens find a batch of Oblivion remake images uploaded publicly to the backend of the Virtuos website. They include screenshots of the game, comparison shots between this version of the game and the 2006 original, and more, and were hastily copied across to other hosting platforms before Virtuos could pull their site offline.

So, who are Virtuos? Originally founded in Shanghai and now headquartered in Singapore, Virtuos is a huge company with thousands of employees and teams dotted around the world. The company has often provided co-development support on major projects, such as art for the Horizon series and co-dev for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, as well as a variety of ports and remaster projects big and small. Oblivion could be their most notable work yet, and with the game so close to being in our hands, it will be fascinating to see how it has come together and how closely it sticks to or diverges from the original.

Nintendo has added another classic title to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. The acclaimed strategy RPG Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones is now available to play through the service’s Game Boy Advance library.

Originally released in 2005, Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones marked the second Fire Emblem game to be localized and released outside of Japan. The game follows royal twins Eirika and Ephraim as they each set out across the continent of Magvel on a quest to halt the militant Grado Empire.

As previously mentioned, the Game Boy Advance library is available exclusively as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack plan. This premium tier offers all of the features of the base Switch Online plan along with additional perks, including access to select DLC, as well as classic Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games.

A base Switch Online membership costs $20 per year, while an Expansion Pack plan costs $50. Nintendo also offers an annual family plan for $80 that covers up to eight different Nintendo Accounts across multiple systems.

Nintendo regularly expands the Switch Online service with new content and perks. Earlier this month, the company added three more classic Sega games to the Genesis library, while GameCube games are coming to the service exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2.

Switch Online members can also access the exclusive Nintendo Music smartphone app, which lets users listen to a growing collection of Nintendo soundtracks. Coinciding with Sacred Stones’ release, Nintendo Music just added the soundtrack for Fire Emblem Engage, the series’ most recent Switch installment.

This is not a drill! I repeat, this is not a drill! Bethesda is teasing an official announcement regarding The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, following an absolutely metric butt-load of rumours and leaks have left the project an open secret.

The tease comes by way of the official Bethesda X page where the company posted an image with the number 4 in roman numerals, The background is extremely dark but appears to be a helmeted figure that looks a lot like the one seen in the leaked artwork.

The tweet lists a date and time: 04/22/25, 11am ET/8am PT/4pm BST. It also says to tune in to Bethesda’s official Twitch page, or to their Youtube channel, indicating it will be some sort of trailer or video presentation.

Previous rumours leaned heavily toward the idea of the game being shadow-dropped sometime between today and the end of the month. That can still happen as the remaster/remake might be dropped straight onto stores at the end of the presentation

With that said, don’t get your hopes up. There’s absolutely zero official word about what’s happening, so it might simply be that the game is getting announced tomorrow but won’t be released.

Either way, it looks like all those early leaks were at least partially right.
