NFT Market Shocked by 40% Drop in April 2025 | NFT News Today

After several months of volatile swings, the global NFT market suffered a striking setback in April 2025. Contrary to earlier optimism, trading volume plunged to around $389 million, representing a steep drop of nearly 40% compared to March. Many analysts, collectors, and creators who had anticipated a fresh wave of enthusiasm were met with sobering numbers instead.

Although Ethereum remained the leading blockchain by total NFT sales, it, too, felt the sting of this downturn. Ethereum-based collections saw trading volumes fall by 44% to about $109 million, while Polygon slipped by 43% to $72 million and Solana dropped by 33% to $36 million. Even with these figures, Ethereum still commands the lion’s share of market sentiment, but the data suggest that buyers and sellers alike are pausing to reassess their positions.

Despite the overall slump, there were a few bright spots. Courtyard, built on Polygon, emerged as the top-selling collection in April with $62–$65 million in sales—an impressive 12–18% increase over March. This success story may point to a more selective market, where collectors remain open to compelling projects even in a bearish environment. DMarket, another notable player, ranked second with about $39 million in sales, down just 4% from the previous month—a comparatively mild dip given the broader declines. Meanwhile, CryptoPunks continued to maintain its status as a historically iconic collection, though it, too, faced a moderate 4% drop to approximately $19 million in sales.

The downturn in April surprised many observers, especially those expecting AI-generated and music NFTs to set the tone for a rebound. While there has been ongoing excitement about AI-driven art platforms and the potential for new royalty-sharing frameworks in music NFTs, there was no verifiable data indicating a sector-wide surge last month. Instead, most NFT categories, from digital collectibles to metaverse assets, followed the general downward trend in trading volume. Some insiders speculate that these segments remain on track for future growth, but April clearly did not deliver on that promise.

Price points and market participation also reflected the gloomier climate. Contrary to claims of rising average NFT prices, the data do not support a surge to $3,200 or an 18% increase; instead, the majority of reporting outlets noted stagnation or price drops consistent with reduced demand.

The supposed jump in unique active wallets to 1.4 million remains unsubstantiated—most indicators actually suggest waning buyer activity as wary collectors step back, presumably waiting to see if prices will stabilize in May.

The Masked Singer Reveals Lucky Duck With Panelist Connection

Lucky Duck has been teasing fans of The Masked Singer throughout season 13 with extra clues about contestants, but his identity has remained a secret — until now.

Warning: This post contains spoilers for The Masked Singer season 13, episode 12.

During the Wednesday, April 30, episode of the Fox competition series, Lucky Duck was unmasked as Taiki Waititi, otherwise known as the husband of panelist Rita Ora.

“I spend most of my time on massive movie sets — even bigger than The Hangover,” Lucky Duck shared before his true identity was revealed. “There’s not an Oscar I don’t know.”

While panelist Robin Thicke originally thought it could be Nicolas Cage, Lucky Duck decided to play by his own rules and reveal himself ahead of schedule.

“Judging by the way these guys are guessing things, they will get it completely wrong.,” Lucky Duck revealed. “They’ll think it’s Meryl Streep under here. I’m taking this mask off myself.”

Lucky Duck was introduced earlier this year as part of the “Lucky Season 13” theme, occasionally popping up to tease the judges with additional hints about contestants. He played a similar role to Cluedle-Doo, who appeared in season 5. (Cluedle-Doo was eventually revealed to be Donnie Wahlberg, husband of panelist Jenny McCarthy.)

While Waititi, 49, was a welcome surprise, some fans believed Lucky Duck would turn out to be Nicole Scherzinger, who has been on hiatus from the show since 2023. The former Pussycat Dolls singer, 46, has been starring in a revival of the musical Sunset Blvd., first in London’s West End and now on Broadway.

Ora, 34, has filled in for her since season 11 when she was introduced with an episode titled, “Rita We Love Your Ora.”

“Well, of course I was familiar by doing the U.K. show for about five seasons, and when they asked me to do this one, I was so excited,” she told Entertainment Weekly in 2024. “I just felt like 100 percent [yes] because I already knew the show so well, and I just love it and I love the excitement of it. It’s just so crazy and it’s like a huge game show, and such a great family show. You can’t really go wrong.”

In the same Q&A, Ora noted that Waititi can sing but said she didn’t think he’d ever agree to appear on The Masked Singer.

Ora and Waititi tied the knot in 2022 but didn’t publicly share the news until the following year.

“She proposed to me, and I said yes instantly,” Waititi told Vogue in 2023, adding that only “about eight people” attended. “Yeah, it was beautiful. Just having close friends and not having it too big. We didn’t have table settings or any of the stressful things that go along with weddings, and it was nice to just have it super-simple.”

13 Things We Learned About Borderlands 4 After Today’s Big Event

Today, we learned a lot more about Borderlands 4 during a roughly 20-minute PlayStation State of Play dedicated exclusively to Gearbox and 2K’s upcoming sci-fi looter shooter sequel.

The Week In Games: A Star Wars Classic Returns & More New Releases

Announced last year, Borderlands 4 is set to launch on September 12. That date is a bit earlier than previously announced and was leaked yesterday by Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford a few hours before the official news was revealed. Pitchford has since claimed that the game’s release date shifting has nothing to do with other games like Grand Theft Auto 6 or Marathon. Regardless, the looter shooter is coming out sooner than expected, and so it makes sense that Gearbox wanted to show it off via a new PlayStation State of Play.

On April 30, Sony aired a 2o-minute gameplay deep dive into Borderlands 4 in which we learned a lot more about the upcoming FPS. Here are 13 key pieces of information from the event.

Pitchford claims Borderlands 4 is going to have a more “grounded tone” that harkens back to the original game.Two of the new Vault Hunters in the game were given names and we learned more about them. Vex is a powerful Siren with a ghost-tiger that she can pet and use in combat. Rafa is a former Tediore soldier who uses advanced tech during fights. Borderlands 4 is set on Kairos, a new planet that was previously controlled and hidden by a mysterious alien being known as the Timekeeper. Some years before the game started, however, a rogue moon crashed into the planet and caused a ton of chaos. (OG character Lilith might have been involved in that…) The looter shooter will support crossplay at launch. It will also let you play two-player split screen c0-op. While playing with others you’ll be able to set your own difficulty and all loot will be instanced, so no gun stealing between friends. Kairos will feature four massive zones that players can explore freely with no loading screens. In the mission we saw during the demo, the new hunters were infiltrating a secret blacksite research facility alongside Borderlands 3 character Armata. You can now glide across large gaps and use your zipline on certain points in exploration or during combat. Gearbox confirmed that sliding, double jumping and dashing are back, too. Players will have access to a “Digirunner,” a vehicle which looks a lot like a Sparrow from Destiny. These are single-seat hovercraft that you can spawn into at any point while out in the world. While exploring Kairos you’ll discover silos. These are locations that aren’t tied to side quests, but function more like the kinds of activities you might seen in a big open-world game like Assassin’s Creed. Most of the weapon manufactures from past games, like Tediore and Jakobs, are back. But this time around guns can spawn with “Licensed Parts.” So a Jakobs rifle might have a different brand of scope or barrel, which might change how it fires or the kind of damage it does. This will make the already wildly unique loot you find in Borderlands games even more varied. Speaking of loot, Gearbox has reworked how often rare loot drops and promises that Legendaries will be rarer and more powerful than in Borderlands 3. You’ll also be able to unlock enhancements that can make certain weapon brands more powerful. Borderlands 4 will feature repayable missions and boss fights, which should make it easier than ever to grind for specific loot.

So yeah, we learned a lot of about Borderlands 4! And I’m excited to see more of the game between now and its (earlier than planned) launch of September 12. Borderlands 4 is set to arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Switch 2.

Of course, Khloe insists that she lost the weight without the help of any drugs. And given how candid she’s been about her weight loss journey, we have no reason to doubt her.

Her latest post prompted the Daily Mail to run an article about Khloe’s “extreme weight loss.” But while the headline may have been inflammatory, the tabloid also ran some illuminating quotes in which Khloe revealed the truth about her weight loss journey.

“I used to be overweight a lot of my life. God, I mean my weight-loss journey. It took years for me. I’ve always been chubby – like athletic. I’ve always played sports. I just was never in shape,” Khloe recently told the “She MD” podcast.

“I was 204 pounds when I delivered and I was like, ‘How am I going to do this again?’ Because I took so many years to do it the first time,” she added, referring to her weight loss.

“But because I had all the tools in my toolbox, I knew what to do and I actually lost my pregnancy weight so much faster than I ever did my regular fat weight.”

While the method might seem counterintuitive, Khloe revealed that one of the keys to her weight loss is eating seven meals a day.

The meals, of course, are small and nutritious, and Khloe says their frequency helped her stave off hunger as she made various lifestyle changes.

“I would, let’s say, cut out all sodas. Little by little, I would cut things out,” she said

“I would do that for a week and then cut out one other thing because I realised, I did every diet under the sun when I was younger.”

Clearly, whatever she’s been doing has been working. No matter what the haters say, Khloe looks fantastic.

Coronation Street follow-up: As Daisy plans departure from Weatherfield, here’s exactly how she’ll leave

In tonight’s episode of Coronation Street (Wednesday, April 30), Daisy announced that she is going to leave Weatherfield for good.

She told Jenny that she needed a fresh start away from the cobbles after everything that had gone on.

With the news shocking Jenny, Daisy then revealed that she was set on leaving tomorrow.

This evening, Jenny told Daisy that she’d sent Dom the money to invest in his business, with the promise of doubling the money by the end of the week.

During the Rovers’ bingo night, Daisy then overheard Christina talking to Dom in the beer garden and heard them discuss taking all of the money and doing a runner with it. Daisy wouldn’t see a penny.

Daisy then started dropping hints to Jenny that Christina was behind the catfishing and scam. And, then the fireworks happened.

During the bingo fundraiser for Julie Carp, Kit turned up and took Christina down to the station.

At the station, Kit was about to let Christina go before Daisy turned up and asked him to keep Christina in for the night pending further questions to ‘protect her’ from Dom.

Daisy then headed back to the Rovers and announced to Jenny that it was time for her to leave Weatherfield. And, she’d do so tomorrow.

Here’s when Daisy is due to leave Coronation Street

With Daisy ending things with Daniel and burning bridges with her mum and Jenny, she’s set on leaving the Street for something new.

Daisy told Jenny that she’s leaving the Street tomorrow, which means that she’s expected to leave on Friday May 2 when the next episode of the ITV airs.

On Friday, Daisy’s exit will be big as Jenny begs her to stay put. With Ryan, Kit and Daniel reminiscing over their relationships with Daisy, Daisy’s ready to flee before Jenny finds out her involvement in Christina’s schemes.

She’s ready to leave ‘for good,’ but the door has been left open so we could still see her once more in years to come.

Venison is a protein ingredient that you can purchase from Gaston’s Stall for 1000 Star Coins. You will have to pursue Gaston’s Friendship Quests to unlock the stall. Goofy sells potatoes at his stall in the Forgotten Lands (Valley) and the Wild Tangle (Eternity Isle) biomes. It will cost you 189 Star Coins for one potato. Moreover, you can purchase a Potato Seed for 55 Star Coins and grow it on your own. However, it will take 35 minutes for the potato seed to grow.

To get Beans, you must grow them on your own using the Bean Seeds. Goofy sells Bean Seeds at his stall in the Glittering Dunes biome for 49 Star Coins. It takes 1 hour for beans to grow. Lastly, you can use any vegetable ingredient to complete the ingredients for the Hamburger Steak. Some of the easiest vegetable ingredients that you can get are Carrots, Lettuce, Tomatoes, etc.

After gathering all the ingredients for the Hamburger Steak, go to any Cooking Station to start making it. Go to any cooking station in the Valley/Eternity Isle and interact with it. Migration to the New Phase: The Road Ahead for Fizz and Provider Nodes

We are excited to announce the upcoming migration to a new phase of the Spheron Network, a major upgrade designed to improve performance, simplify participation, and bring more stability to our platform. This is a strategic evolution in response to everything we’ve learned so far. This article explains the full migration process, what changes are coming, why they matter, and how they benefit both new and existing participants in the ecosystem.

Overview: What Is the Migration About?

This new phase introduces several critical improvements to the Spheron Network’s infrastructure, user experience, and operational efficiency. During this migration, we are updating Fizz and Provider nodes to align with new standards and upgraded architecture.

The goal of this shift is to move beyond the limitations of the current environment and enter a more production-ready space. The process will involve temporary pauses in certain services, a reset of the leaderboard and points system, and new deployment requirements for node operators and developers.

Temporary Changes During Migration

While the migration is underway, the following changes will take place:

Fizz node registration will be temporarily paused. No new nodes can be registered during the migration window.

Resource updates to existing nodes will be disabled.

Deployments via Console and Supernoderz will be paused.

Active leases will be closed out automatically.

These measures are necessary to ensure a smooth transition and prevent deployment conflicts during infrastructure updates.

The migration will occur in two stages:

Console services will return first, with a short delay of 2–3 hours expected.

Supernoderz will come back online the following day with a similar process for fund reactivation and redeployment.

What Happens After Migration?

Once the migration completes, the network will resume operations with updated policies & features. Here’s what you can expect:

1. Introducing uSPON: A Major Step Toward Full Ecosystem Utility

Three years after leaving the iconic show to pursue presenting opportunities on ITV, Oti has revealed that the “doors are open” for a potential return.

Oti Mabuse addresses Strictly return

In a new interview with Prima, the 33-year-old dancer reflected on her seven-season run on Strictly, which saw her win the coveted glitterball trophy twice.

“When I look back on Strictly, I think the whole seven-year journey was amazing. I still work on the show. I still do choreography. I’m still talking to the producers. I say that the show brought me everything, like me sitting here today, and the relationship still very much continues,” she said.

Her comments come after ITV announced the cancellation of her Saturday morning chat and lifestyle show, Oti Mabuse’s Breakfast Show.

To add to the disappointment, Dancing on Ice – where Oti served as a judge – has also been axed.

These changes have prompted speculation that the multi-talented star may soon return to her dancing roots.

‘Never say never’

Although Oti was clear that her current focus is on motherhood and other projects, she didn’t rule out a comeback.

“Everyone asks me [if I’d return to Strictly]. I think right now, with a daughter and everything I’m doing, I’m quite busy, and I’m happy with what I’m doing at the minute. But never say never. The doors are always open, which is really, really nice.”

She also praised her former Strictly co-star Aljaž Škorjanec, who recently returned to the dancefloor after a brief departure of his own.

“Aljaž went back, and he’s doing really well. I went back to choreograph with him, and he’s just in a different space. He’s absolutely sensational. So, you never know.”

Following the axing of her ITV show, Oti has continued to appear on-screen as a panellist on ITV2’s Celebrity Big Brother spin-off Late and Live. However, many fans are eager to see her back on the Strictly ballroom.

With the BBC show gearing up for its 2025 season, Oti’s return could be just the twist the show – and fans – have been waiting for.
