Avengers: Doomsday Set Leak Seemingly Reveals The X-Mansion And A Sentinel – SlashFilm

Avengers: Doomsday Set Leak Seemingly Reveals The X-Mansion And A Sentinel – SlashFilm

Behind the scenes secrets and sights continue to stumble out of the “Avengers: Doomsday” set, and the latest batch reveals an iconic threat to the world of mutantkind and the X-Men, seemingly providing our first blurry look at a Sentinel — or at least parts of one. Thanks to photos and video footage of the set posted on X by UnBoxPHDFilm and booletproof_dummy via Unc | DC Marvel, the legendary mutant-hunting robot looks to have taken a beating, with the Sentinel’s torso and feet on full display, lying down on set. Well, that’s what happens when a 20-foot robot ends up at the door of a very famous school looking for trouble.

According to social media posts, the scattered statues and lush greenery look to be part of the X-Mansion grounds, suggesting that whenever we meet the X-Men in the upcoming MCU installment, they’ll square off with the towering terror and wreck a few lawns in the process. It’s standard fare for Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and his team to be going up against such adversaries, but the critical thing to consider is just which villain sent them to their home in the first place? Was it another attack from someone in their world, or has a threat from outside their reality managed to bring his own robot force to start some trouble instead?

Does Doom have Sentinels on his side in Avengers: Doomsday?

With every spoilerific photo we see of the upcoming MCU movie, so too comes a massive dollop of speculation about the Marvel movie with the absolutely massive cast. In the case of this downed Sentinel, it may be too chaotic to have the X-Men dealing with their own kind of drama before Robert Downey Jr.’s Latverian leader wanders onto the scene. In that case, is it possible that this broken-down bot is a Sentinel that’s been controlled by Doom himself, or a similar automaton of his own design?

In Marvel comic book history, Doom has had a crack at creating his own kind of Sentinel force. During “X-Men/Fantastic Four” #3 in 2020, Doom unleashed an army of Doom-themed robots called Leviathans that were hunting both mutants and humans, only to be destroyed by Franklin Richards, the son of Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) and Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby), who were coincidentally last seen touching down on Earth in the post credit scene of “Thunderbolts*.” Keeping this story in mind and Doom’s nature of being a villainous maniac, could this be one of the tricks Victor has up his armored sleeve to have super teams fighting each other (which has been all but confirmed by Alan Cumming recently)? Then again, the X-Men have been known to get in scraps with Sentinels on a regular basis, so maybe it isn’t part of Doom’s grand plan after all.

We’ll have to find out when “Avengers: Doomsday” arrives in theaters on May 1, 2026.

Crypto’s Future: KuCoin’s Oliver Stauber Stresses Trust and Tech at 2025 HODL Summit | NFT News Today

Crypto’s Future: KuCoin’s Oliver Stauber Stresses Trust and Tech at 2025 HODL Summit | NFT News Today

KuCoin, one of the world’s most recognized cryptocurrency exchanges, shared its vision for a secure and innovative digital asset future during the HODL Summit 2025 in Dubai. Speaking on a leadership panel, KuCoin EU CEO Oliver Stauber emphasized that trust and security are no longer aspirational but foundational to sustainable industry growth.

      Key Highlights

Oliver Stauber spotlighted trust and innovation as the pillars of crypto’s next chapter.

KuCoin rebuilt its technical infrastructure to improve scalability, reliability, and asset protection.

The platform holds ISO 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type II certifications, validated by regular third-party Proof of Reserves audits.

KuCoin launched a $2 billion Trust Project to raise industry-wide standards.

With five regulatory licenses, the company plans to launch in Europe and Australia by the end of 2025.

      Reinforcing Trust Amid Industry Challenges

During a session titled “Crypto’s Trust Crisis,” Oliver Stauber joined executives from Bitget and Binance to explore how the industry is rebuilding user confidence in the wake of high-profile breaches and tightening regulations.

“When Lehman Brothers collapsed, trust among banks evaporated, leading to years of suffering for clients and the broader economy,” Stauber said. “In contrast, when hacks occur in crypto, industry leaders collaborate swiftly. This unity ensures no user or the market as a whole suffers long-term damage, fostering trust from both users and the market.”

Since its founding in 2017, KuCoin has prioritized user-centric innovation. Today, it serves more than 40 million users across over 200 countries. Its platform spans a range of services including crypto trading, wallets, payments, AI-powered bots, plus wealth management tools.

Security and Scalability at the Core

“Innovation drives growth, but trust secures the future,” Stauber stated. “Security is the bedrock of KuCoin’s operations, paired with sustainable growth as our guiding principle.”

Staying true to that belief, KuCoin has completely revamped its infrastructure to keep up with growing global demand. These updates aim to improve system performance and also include stronger safeguards for user assets.

KuCoin’s ISO 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type II certifications highlight its dedication to international security standards. Meanwhile, independent audits confirm its 100% Proof of Reserves.

The $2 Billion Trust Project and Global Strategy

To raise the bar for industry practices, KuCoin recently unveiled its $2 billion Trust Project. The initiative focuses on transparency tools, regulatory alignment, and security innovation.

“Exchanges are the backbone of crypto’s future, built on transparency and trust. Our ISO 27001:2022 certification is a testament to our unwavering commitment to security,” Stauber asserted.

With five global regulatory licenses, KuCoin is preparing to launch fully compliant operations in Europe and Australia by late 2025. These moves are also expected to accelerate the adoption of the KuCoin Token (KCS), creating new value opportunities for the exchange’s global community.

      Global Recognition of Leadership

In 2024, KuCoin was named one of the “Best Crypto Apps & Exchanges” by Forbes and included in the Hurun Global Unicorn Index’s “Top 50 Global Unicorns.” These recognitions validate the company’s continued commitment to innovation, compliance, and user empowerment.

From the stage of the HODL Summit 2025, Oliver Stauber conveyed not just optimism—but resolve. His message: KuCoin is building a crypto ecosystem where trust, security, and innovation are integral to every transaction.

Mastercard and MoonPay to Launch Global Stablecoin Payment Cards

Mastercard and MoonPay to Launch Global Stablecoin Payment Cards

Mastercard is expanding its involvement in cryptocurrency infrastructure through a new partnership with MoonPay, introducing payment cards that allow users to transact using stablecoins.

The underlying infrastructure will be provided by Iron—a stablecoin payments company acquired by MoonPay in March—and is expected to launch later this year, though no specific timeline or countries have been confirmed.

The service is intended for both individuals and businesses and will automatically convert stablecoins into fiat at the point of sale.

Mastercard and MoonPay to Launch Global Stablecoin Payment Cards Source: MoonPay

What can we expect from the stablecoin payment cards?

The new card service will allow users to make purchases and receive payments in stablecoins, with transactions automatically converted into fiat currency. This approach is designed to allow merchants and cardholders to interact with stablecoins without dealing with the complexity of managing crypto wallets or dealing with market volatility directly.

Iron, the infrastructure provider now owned by MoonPay, will handle the technical backend of the service. Whilst the specific stablecoins to be supported have not been disclosed, such products typically use well-known assets like USDC or USDT, both of which are pegged to the US dollar.

The rollout is planned to be global, though both companies have not detailed which regions will be prioritised.

        Ongoing Regulatory Developments

In the United States, the Securities and Exchange Commission issued guidance in April stating that some stablecoins do not qualify as securities. However, it did not offer clarity on yield-bearing or algorithmic stablecoins, leaving parts of the market in a legal grey area.

The SEC also recently closed an investigation into PayPal’s stablecoin without taking enforcement action, signalling a possible shift toward more defined regulatory boundaries. Even so, the broader legal framework for stablecoins—particularly those used in financial products or payment systems—is still under development in many countries.

Despite this, large payment networks are continuing to experiment. Visa recently launched a stablecoin pilot programme across six Latin American countries, with plans to expand to other continents. Mastercard’s own series of partnerships, including the latest with MoonPay, indicates that the firm views stablecoins as a viable component of future payment infrastructure.

Binance Celebrates 15th Anniversary Of Bitcoin Pizza Day With $5M BTC Giveaway

Binance Celebrates 15th Anniversary Of Bitcoin Pizza Day With M BTC Giveaway

        In Brief

Commemorating the first-ever crypto transaction, Binance’s campaign includes the biggest BTC rewards pool ever launched by a CEX, meetups around the world, social channel activities, and a livestream with Binance leaders.

Binance Celebrates 15th Anniversary Of Bitcoin Pizza Day With $5M BTC Giveaway

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced the launch of a global initiative to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Bitcoin Pizza Day, featuring a $5 million BTC rewards pool. According to the platform, this represents the largest Bitcoin giveaway ever conducted by a centralized exchange. The campaign honors the widely recognized transaction that took place on May 22nd, 2010, when Laszlo Hanyecz used 10,000 BTC—then valued at approximately $40—to purchase two pizzas, marking one of the earliest examples of Bitcoin being used as a medium of exchange in the real economy.

“From two pizzas to a global financial movement, crypto’s journey has been nothing short of extraordinary — and our community has been the driving force behind it,” said Rachel Conlan, Chief Marketing Officer at Binance, in a written statement. “This year, we’re marking Bitcoin Pizza Day with the biggest BTC referral giveaway in history — $5 million worth — alongside over 26 local meetups and social activations. It’s our way of honoring how far we’ve come while inviting millions more into the crypto world,” she added.

Running from May 15th to May 28th, 2025, the campaign allows participants to refer others to the Binance platform using a limited-time referral link. In recognition of Bitcoin’s early transaction history, BTC was selected as the reward asset, with a maximum reward of $40 allocated per referral pair. Both the referring user and the invited user can receive a Pizza Box reward valued at up to $20 in BTC. The top referrers in the campaign may qualify for additional BTC token voucher rewards of up to $5,000 each. With a total prize pool of $5 million in BTC, the initiative is positioned as Binance’s most extensive reward-based onboarding campaign to date.

Alongside the promotion, Binance is hosting themed community events in multiple global locations, including cities in Asia, Europe, South America, and Africa. Activities range from branded pizza truck appearances in Almaty and Johannesburg to in-person meetups in cities such as Dubai, Bordeaux, and Buenos Aires. These gatherings are set to feature educational and community-oriented programming, with complimentary pizza and promotional giveaways.

Complementary digital engagement includes a series of interactive initiatives across online and social media platforms, such as a global social contest highlighting users’ first cryptocurrency transactions and gamified activities across Telegram, Discord, and WhatsApp. On Binance Square, a Level Up campaign for new users and a #BinancePizza challenge will offer participants the opportunity to earn from a BNB prize pool valued at $6,000 by sharing verified cryptocurrency trade activity using the Trade Sharing tool.

On May 22nd, Binance executives are expected to join the broader community for a livestream event, discussing Bitcoin’s development, the role of Pizza Day in cryptocurrency culture, and broader trends shaping the digital asset landscape.

Ubisoft delays its “biggest productions” after AC Shadows delay led to a better game | TheSixthAxis

Ubisoft delays its “biggest productions” after AC Shadows delay led to a better game | TheSixthAxis

Ubisoft has decided to extend the development timelines for some of its “biggest productions”, in order to try and ensure they meet the high bar set by the Assassin’s Creed Shadows, both by critics and at the tills.

These are unnamed titles that did not have confirmed launch windows, pushing their release back to mid-2026, 2027 or early 2028 and generally giving development teams longer to work on projects. The suggestion that these are their top tier games, and from an investor call Q&A, this would refer to the publisher’s top brands, including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Rainbow Six, The Division and Ghost Recon.

“After a review of our pipeline,” CEO Yves Guillemot said, “we have decided to provide additional development time to some of our biggest productions in order to create the best conditions for success. As a consequence, FY2026-27 and FY2027-28 will see significant content coming from our largest brands.”

This gives an indication to investors that there will not be a massive budget release this financial year. The company still has committed launches for Anno 117: Pax Romana, the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, The Division Resurgence spin-off, Rainbow Six Mobile, Rainbow Six Siege X, and some unannounced titles within this window.

FY 2024-25 was down on the previous year, despite the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows in March, after the underperformance of Star Wars Outlaws last summer. However, AC Shadows should have a long tail into FY 2025-26 that, alongside the new titles, should keep things steady through this year for the successive years to improve upon.

Announced back in March, Ubisoft is creating a new subsidiary in financial partnership with Tencent to act as a new home for some of its biggest studios and franchise – specifically Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six. The expectation is that this will be fully formed by the end of this year.

That comes after their “cost savings program” (read: layoffs) that took place over the last few years. Guillemot says they “are committed to going further” (read: more layoffs) and will aim to make additional savings of €100 million in the next two years. The company cut around 3,000 jobs in the last two years to save €200 million, so simple maths suggests that 1,500 more jobs will be cut in the next year or two. That’s always reassuring to hear for employees…

Strictly star emotional as she details traumatic birth of first child after five-day labour

Strictly Come Dancing star Dani Harmer has opened up about the traumatic birth of her first child.

The Strictly star, 36, talked about the difficult experience during an appearance on Vanessa yesterday (Wednesday, May 14).

Strictly Come Dancing star Dani Harmer on traumatic birth of her first child

In 2016, Dani gave birth to her daughter, Avarie-Belle Betsy Rachel Brough.

However, giving birth proved to be a traumatic experience for the former Strictly star.

Appearing on Vanessa yesterday, Dani told show host Vanessa Feltz that giving birth to her first child is an experience that took her a long time to get over.

“I had a really traumatic first birth,” she said. “I was in labour with her [Avarie-Belle] for five days, which then resulted in an emergency cesarean, which is very different from an elective one.”

Dani revealed that she’d initially hoped to have a natural birth, listening to “whale music and giving birth in the water”.

“It was really, really scary,” she then continued. “Not just for me, but for my partner as well. I think it was probably more traumatic for him because he had to witness the whole thing.”

‘I can almost cry about it’

Dani continued. “And it was scary for him thinking not only might he lose his baby, but he might lose me as well,” she then said.

“I don’t remember much of it because I was drugged up on a lot of different things, but it was an experience I really didn’t want to have to repeat,” she said.

“So when we fell pregnant with my second, I really wanted to go for an elective caesarean,” she then said.

“I found that they were really trying to persuade me to go for a natural birth, and I said to them, ‘unless you can guarantee me that I’m going to give birth naturally, one hundred percent, then otherwise I will want an elective one’,” she then added.

Dani then went on to say that she’d heard that having an elective cesarean was much “calmer”, which “thankfully, it was”.

“I had a very, very different experience the second time round.

“But the first time, it was horrible. If I think back to that first birth, I can almost cry about it, and it took a really long time to get over it,” she then confessed.

She then explained that that was why there is such a “big gap” between her two children. Dani had her second child in 2022, six years after her first.
