Child Therapist Offers Advice for Parents of Young Mets Fans ‘Devastated’ by Awful Season

If you or your child is a Mets fan, please know that professionals are here to help as you attempt to navigate the team’s abysmal season.

“If your kid is learning what it is to be a Mets fan right now, they’re actually learning one of the most important [Dialectical Behavior Therapy] skills there is,” board certified DBT therapist Belinda Bellet explained in a video via Instagram on Friday, April 24.

The Mets snapped their brutal 12-game losing streak last Wednesday, April 22, but shortstop Francisco Lindor suffered an injury during the game. Bellet explained that it’s normal for fans to celebrate the long-awaited victory and simultaneously grieve the loss of a star player.

“In DBT, we call this the dialectic. Two opposite things can be true at the same time,” she continued. “You don’t have to pick one. Sit with your kid in both experiences. This is where grit is built.”

Bellet expanded in the caption, writing, “that’s what it feels like to love a team.”

“You can be relieved AND heartbroken. You can celebrate AND grieve,” she added. “You don’t have to pick one feeling and throw the other away. Don’t rush your kid out of the complicated feeling.”

What isn’t complicated is the Mets’ standing in the National League East. They enter Monday, April 27, at 9-19 overall, coming off a sweep at the hands of the also woeful Colorado Rockies.

Things have become so bad in Queens that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was even asked what he can do to improve the team’s fortunes. Mamdani, 34, was jokingly blamed for the team’s losing streak when their 12-game skid coincidentally began around the time he posed for photos with the team’s beloved mascots, Mr. and Mrs. Met.

“I’ll say there’s a lot of baseball left to be played and I am still keeping the faith, as I know that many Mets fans are across the city,” Mamdani told reporters during an April 12 press conference.

As for Bellet, she has also offered New Yorkers advice on how to talk to their kids about the New York Knicks. The NBA franchise is facing the Atlanta Hawks in a first-round playoff series and unexpectedly fell behind 2 games to 1 after Mikal Bridges missed what would have been a game-winning jumpshot in Game 3.

“If your kid is crying right now because Mikal Bridges missed that shot — don’t fix it. Don’t say ‘it’s just a game,’” she urged in another video posted Tuesday, April 21. “Their body is genuinely feeling it. The disappointment is real. The heartbreak is real. Validate it first.”

Bellet added that parents could then show their kids how, despite losing, the players walked off the court “with their head held high.”

“That is what resilience actually looks like,” she said.

Ward is the subject of this week’s episode of Hollywood Demons: Child Stars Gone Wild. And in her episode, she reveals that she was making “$20,000 or $25,000” for her work as Rachel McGuire on Boy Meets World.

Not a bad paycheck — especially 25 years ago.

But it pales in comparison to her OnlyFans earnings, which usually exceed “six figures a month.”

“My story is multifaceted,” she explains on the episode (per Us Weekly). “It’s really a story of self-discovery and finding who you are as an authentic person in any way that you want to.”

“Back when I was getting into it … they looked at these young actors as like property coming in,” Ward added while discussing the industry’s “twisted male gaze.”

“Women were just put into this box where you had to be this young woman that was either a virgin and a slut all at once. And I hate to use those terms exactly, but that’s what it was,” she explained.

In a previous interview, Ward claimed that she was given “more respect” working in the porn industry than she received as a mainstream actress.

“I really got a lot of positivity overall, which shocked everyone I knew,” she said.

“Everybody thought people were just going to rip me apart, and I was going to be judged and raked across the coals.”

The venom from this caterpillar is located on its hollow spines, which are mixed in and hidden among the thick hair. So you can get stung by this creature just by brushing up against it. If you find one on you or someone else, do not remove it with bare hands.

According to Columbia University Irving Medical Center, the symptoms of puss caterpillar contact may include the following:

Instant, intense pain that usually comes in waves.
Swelling with a rash that causes itching. The rash contains red blotches and raised ridges.
Anxiety and Restlessness
Nausea and vomiting.
Fever.
Muscle cramps.
Swollen glands.
Symptoms of shock.

If someone is stung by this caterpillar, the National Capital Poison Center suggests calling them for help if needed at 1-800-222-1222. Treatment includes removing the spines using tape (sticky side down). Pull up the tape and repeat with new pieces of tape until all the spines are removed.

Then, gently wash the area with soap and water. It is also recommended that you seek medical help if the symptoms are severe, such as having “trouble breathing” or the skin becoming “badly blistered.”

In tonight’s Coronation Street episode (Monday, April 27), Theo Silverton managed to slip through the net and escape police attention after Todd Grimshaw and George Shuttleworth reported him.

After fleeing out of the flat window, Theo went on the run, hiding out in his damaged van while clutching Todd’s phone. But with ‘murder week’ now underway on the cobbles, and one villain set to be found dead before the week is out, all eyes are on Theo and whether he could be the one who meets a grim fate.

Theo and Todd’s showdown in Coronation Street

It all began when Todd Grimshaw phoned George Shuttleworth to say he would be running late for drinks at the Rovers, still shaken after an unsettling moment at the flat. But what he didn’t know was that things were about to get much worse.

As soon as Todd ended the call, Theo Silverton appeared, having let himself into the property without warning. In an odd turn of events, Theo noticed food that was about to go to waste and insisted on cooking what he called a ‘last meal.’ choosing to make a risotto despite the rising tension in the room.

Things soon escalated dangerously, with Todd forced to pick up a knife to protect himself. In a deeply unsettling twist, Theo even begged him to stab him, before grabbing a marble bowl during the confrontation. George arrived just in time, helping Todd lock Theo inside the bedroom so they could make their escape.

But any sense of relief was short-lived. Theo managed to climb out of the window, evade the police, and disappear nearby. Later, as Todd tried to get away to safety, he realised he had left his phone behind. When he returned, Theo was there waiting, holding the phone and cornering him once again.

Likelihood of Theo being murdered in Coronation Street explored

Things are looking increasingly dangerous for Theo as Coronation Street’s ‘murder week’ kicks into gear. He has already made a long list of enemies, all of whom seem determined to protect Todd at any cost.

Earlier in the episode, Summer was ready to throw a brick at Theo’s van, before Gary stepped in and took matters into his own hands by smashing it up instead.

George also found himself right in the middle of the chaos, rushing in to defend Todd and helping him lock Theo away in the bedroom. Meanwhile, Todd himself went as far as threatening Theo with a knife, only to find himself back in danger as Theo cornered him again.

With another showdown clearly on the horizon, Theo appears to be running out of road fast. As tensions continue to rise on the cobbles, it seems more and more likely that Todd or someone close to him could ultimately bring Theo’s story to a deadly end.

The PowerWash Simulator series is getting its biggest crossover yet, as developer FuturLab has announced a partnership with Lucasfilm for an upcoming Star Wars DLC pack for PowerWash Simulator 2.

The Star Wars Pack is coming this summer and allows players to clean a variety of Star Wars ships, including X-Wings. The DLC is set during the events of the original Star Wars trilogy, and lets players take on the role of the P0-W2 droid.

Wielding a power washer made specifically for the DLC, players will travel to six locations from the Star Wars universe to clean things off, including Hoth and Tatooine. The rest of the locations will be announced later.
