It’s less about winning and more about connecting, with the music, the people and the world around you. Quietly charming and full of personality, this could be a sleeper hit for narrative fans.

Froggy Hates Snow – May 7th
Cute name, harsh reality. Froggy Hates Snow drops you into a frozen wasteland where survival is anything but guaranteed. But we’re more than up for attempting that survival, so much so that we included Froggy Hates Snow in our ‘Most Anticipated Games of 2026’ article.
You’ll dig through snow to uncover resources, battle eerie creatures and manage warmth as a constant threat. Stay out too long and you freeze – unless you’ve upgraded your abilities. Meanwhile, strange black creatures roam the landscape, each bringing unique dangers.
There’s a satisfying loop here: explore, adapt, upgrade, survive. Add in anomaly zones with high-risk, high-reward encounters, and you’ve got a survival game that balances charm with genuine tension.

Blending real-time stealth, branching choices and co-op movie night gameplay, this is built for shared experiences as much as solo play. With multiple endings and high-stakes decisions, Directive 8020 looks set to deliver tension in spades.

Forza Horizon 6 – May 15th (Game Pass Day One)
The headline act – and a Game Pass day one launch. Forza Horizon 6 takes the festival to Japan and raises the bar once again.
From neon-lit Tokyo streets to winding mountain roads, the world is bigger, denser and more varied than ever. With over 500 cars, deep customisation and a campaign built around discovery, there’s always something pulling you forward.
Multiplayer and creative tools return bigger and better, making this not just a racing game, but a full sandbox for car culture. This is likely to be May’s defining release, and the game we’ll be playing for weeks, months, and years down the line.

Coffee Talk Tokyo – May 21st
Back behind the counter, Coffee Talk Tokyo serves up another dose of heartfelt storytelling.
Set in a bustling version of Tokyo where humans and fantasy beings coexist, you’ll brew drinks, listen to customers’ stories and help guide their lives through conversation. The lo-fi soundtrack sets the tone, while new systems add extra depth.
It’s relaxed, intimate and all about the little moments. If you enjoyed previous entries, this feels like a natural evolution.

LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight – May 22nd
The Caped Crusader returns in brick form with LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
Covering Bruce Wayne’s journey from origin to legend, the game mixes classic LEGO humour with a more expansive Gotham City, packed with secrets, characters and collectables.
It’s familiar, but bigger, and for fans of LEGO adventures, that’s exactly the point.
Feels like a good time to look back at the brilliance of LEGO Batman 3, eh!?

You play as Jack, trapped in a strange dimension, building powerful card combos and recruiting allies to survive. With over 100 cards and endless synergies, combat encourages experimentation and creative thinking.
The upgraded voxel visuals and synth-heavy soundtrack give it a distinct identity, while the structure keeps you coming back for just one more run.
This could quietly become one of May’s most addictive Game Pass titles, especially if we take the excellent first game as a measure.

And then we have one of the most hotly anticipated games of recent times. Yep, a new Bond begins in 007 First Light, an origin story exploring how James Bond became 007.
This is a more grounded take on the iconic spy, following his early days in MI6 training and a mission that spirals into conspiracy. Missions span global locations, blending stealth, combat and gadget-driven gameplay.
Crucially, you choose your approach – silent infiltration or all-out action. With IO Interactive behind it, expectations are high. Very. High.
