In Solidity, dynamic structs are complex data types that can store multiple elements of varying sizes, such as arrays, mappings, or other structs. The system encodes these dynamic structs into binary format using Ethereum’s ABI (Application Binary Interface) encoding rules. The system encodes the structs whenever it stores or passes them in transactions.
Decoding this binary data is crucial for interpreting the state or output of a smart contract. This process involves understanding how Solidity organizes and packs data, particularly in dynamic types, to accurately reconstruct the original struct from its binary representation. This understanding is key to developing robust and interoperable decentralized applications.
Decoding dynamic structs in an external development environment that interacts with a blockchain network is challenging. These structs can include arrays, mappings, and nested structs of different sizes. They require careful handling to keep data accurate during encoding and decoding. In Hyperledger Web3j, we addressed this by creating object classes that match the expected struct format in the blockchain environment.
These object classes are designed to inherit from the org.web3j.abi.datatypes.DynamicStruct class, which is part of the ABI module. The developers designed this class to handle the complexities of encoding and decoding dynamic structs and other Solidity data types. The ABI module leverages Hyperledger Web3j’s type-safe mapping to ensure easy and secure interactions with these complex data structures.
However, when the goal is to extract a specific value from encoded data, creating a dedicated object can add unnecessary complexity. This approach can also use up extra resources. To address this, our contributors, calmacfadden and Antlion12, made significant improvements by extending the org.web3j.abi.TypeReference class.
Their enhancements allow dynamic decoding directly within the class, removing the need to create extra objects. This change simplifies the process of retrieving specific values from encoded data. This advancement reduces overhead and simplifies interactions with blockchain data.
Decoding dynamic struct before enhancement

With the new approach, declaring an equivalent struct object class is no longer necessary. When the method receives the encoded data, it can immediately decode it by creating a matching reference type. This simplifies the workflow and reduces the need for additional class definitions. Those who have been using Copilot in Teams actively on chats and channels, have very likely hit this issue when Copilot doesn’t seem to understand when asked about messages in a specific time frame that was further in history. For example, asking Copilot to summarize key action items from last week worked without issues, but asking that for something that was more than a month ago provided mixed results as it sometimes seemed to work and sometimes didn’t.
In fact, Copilot’s “sense of time” in chats and channels was limited to the last 30 days of data in Copilot in Teams chats and channels.
Before this rollout, when users asked Copilot about a long time period (such as “Summarize the key action items from March”), Copilot was limited to the last 30 days of data.
Check out M365 Admin Center Message center, with message id MC801583 and public roadmap.
Message center states also other improvements Copilot in Teams is getting: Improvements to how Copilot in Teams understands and responds to time-related queries in chat and channels. With this rollout, Copilot will provide more precise and relevant responses to prompts such as “yesterday,” “last week,” and “last month.”
How is this change going to be seen in action when using Copilot in Teams? Looking at Message center’s photos there will be two key changes:
Improved sense of time
Simplified timestamp for indicating the timeframe
This update should roll out during this month (August 2024). Targeted release tenants may already have it or get it soon and general availability will be rolling during mid-August to the end of August. This will only affect people who has Copilot for Microsoft 365 -license. The update will be affecting all clients: Desktop, Mac, New Teams Web version and Teams mobile apps.
I needed to try this one early summer in the demo environment to see the impact of this change. Using Copilot side panel for channel conversation thread in Teams.
The chats and channels Copilot provided an answer that included data from December – January, but it the end date was at the end of May. It was at the end of May, when the thread had the last messages. The answer contained only information during December-January messages, so Copilot understood the timeframe already. The reason for this may be that the conversation thread is not too long and thus can be included easily to the language model. However, the result Copilot provided wasn’t fully complete.
Doing the same mid-August, we can see the timestamp has been simplified. This time the result includes all messages and their key tasks.

Anirudh tries to convince her that she deserves better opportunities, but Jhanak feels betrayed, accusing him of doing this because he loves Arshi. Despite Anirudh’s insistence that Arshi needs the win more, Jhanak refuses to back down and leaves angrily.
The Final Performance Begins
The final round of the competition begins, with Ruchita introducing the two finalists, Arshi and Jhanak. The contestants perform while wearing masks, dancing to “Udi Udi.” During the performance, Jhanak is distracted by Anirudh’s words, causing her to lose focus.
As the dance ends, her mask falls off, and the audience claps. Meanwhile, Appu, in another scene, expresses her love for Jhanak and Lalon, showing concern about Jhanak not visiting her.

After the performance, Ruchita praises Arshi for her consistent wins and calls the judges to make their decision. While waiting for the results, Kumar Sanu entertains the audience with a medley of songs. This is a big issue for NFTs; if the associated files vanish, your NFT could lose its art and metadata, leading to broken links and a lot of confusion for collectors and panic for artists.

Baa overhears this and is shocked. Dimpy arrives with a video of Sagar and Meenu, but Titu tries to stop her. Pakhi reveals that their father has already seen the video.
When Kinjal asks what happened, Toshu tells her not to defend Meenu, implying she is not innocent. Pakhi supports this, but Kinjal insists it might be a misunderstanding.
