Strictly’s Jamie Borthwick hits back at Craig Revel Horwood’s criticism and defends ‘connection’ with Michelle Tsiakkas on It Takes Two

Strictly star Jamie Borthwick has had his say on It Takes Two over Craig Revel Horwood’s criticism of his performance with professional partner Michelle Tsiakkas at the weekend.

The EastEnders star has defended his “chemistry” with Michelle, after the judges urged for more fluidity in his moves…

Jamie Borthwick has his say on It Takes Two

On Saturday Craig complained that Jamie’s dance had just the “structural” parts rather than connection with his partner – which is very important in a Rumba.

Jamie has now had his say on It Takes Two. He told Janette Manrara whilst gracing the iconic purple sofa: “To be honest – biasedly, if that is even a word – I disagree with Craig.

“I think there was fantastic connection.”

Jamie then turned to grin at Michelle who chimed in: “I thought there was connection.”

I think there was fantastic connection.

The actor went on to echo: “I think there was fantastic connection,” with a pleased grin.

Michelle then praised: “He was so into it,” to which Jamie agreed “yeah”.

The dancing pro added: “It felt so good.”

Jamie repeated the sentiment, insisting: “Bar anything else, I’m pleased – obviously all the judges they all know what they are talking about and they are all fantastic.

“Particularly this week, I was happy that Shirley was happy, because she is the queen. So, I’m happy that she was happy.

“But you know what, above anything else, I just loved it.”

To which Janette agreed: “That is all that matters.”

For movie week, Jamie and Michelle will be performing a Quickstep to I’m Still Standing by Elton John. Jamie also performed a Quickstep in last years Christmas special, so it is sure to go down a treat with the judges.

It comes after a Body Language expert also agreed that Jamie and Michelle are lacking chemistry.

Body language expert Darren Stanton, speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, said: “I think Jamie tries to cover his nerves with humour and sarcasm. I don’t feel he and Michelle have a great connection either.

“There’s a bit of bravado there, but that’s part of his nature perhaps as an actor. I do fear he’s not willing to give his all to the process and that affects the relationship dynamic and body language, as well as feeling comfortable doing certain things.

“I don’t think the connection with Michelle is as strong. We aren’t seeing matching and mirroring or tactile moments,” he added of the Strictly couple.

Will the pair find their footing as a couple?

We’ll have to wait till Saturday night to find out…

Call of Duty Fans Share Their Hopes for Black Ops 6’s New Nuketown

Call of Duty Fans Share Their Hopes for Black Ops 6’s New Nuketown

Nuketown is confirmed to return in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, but with Treyarch keeping quiet about what it will look like, fans hope it’ll live up to expectations.

There are some Call of Duty maps that live in our memories long after their release – and there are others that Activision simply won’t let us forget.

Originally arriving with the original Black Ops, and having made its return on countless occasions, it’s safe to say that Nuketown falls under both those categories.

Is Nuketown Coming to Black Ops 6?

Yes, Nuketown is confirmed to arrive in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, although it won’t be present on release day.

Activision has already confirmed all 16 maps coming to Black Ops 6 at launch, and Nuketown isn’t one of them.

However, the map Warhead appears to be a version of Nuketown from after the nuclear warhead has detonated, and that Strike Map will be available on day one.

Warhead Map in Black Ops 6
Warhead map in Black Ops 6

A Nuketown variant has been present in every Black Ops title to date, and we’re happy to report that it’s set to return in Black Ops 6 too!

After all, all the way back in Black Ops 6’s initial showcase, we saw the map’s name appear in the matchmaking lobby, giving us confirmation that Nuketown will be back again.

Nuketown Spotted in Black Ops 6 Multiplayer StreamNuketown Spotted in Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Stream

In the case of Black Ops Cold War, Treyarch’s most recent title, Nuketown arrived in a post-launch update on November 24, 2020, eleven days after the game’s release.

We expect that the map will arrive shortly after Black Ops 6’s launch, though this is yet to be confirmed.

    What Should Nuketown Look Like?

Over on the Black Ops 6 subreddit, fans are sharing their hot takes as to what Nuketown should look like this time around.

One popular post shares the opinion that Treyarch should cease making new variants of Nuketown with each new instalment and simply return to the map’s classic appearance from Black Ops 1:

On the other hand, several fans are hoping that the opposite is true!

A new rumor suggests that Black Ops 6 will feature multiple Nuketown variants to play on, similar to MW3’s new assortment of Shipment variants. For some players, it seems that would be the ideal situation.

Other Black Ops fans suggest that they’re tired of Nuketown altogether, which is fair enough given that players are already complaining about Black Ops 6 having too many small maps.

Personally, we think it’s quite unlikely that the OG Nuketown will come back, seeing as Treyarch always likes to offer a new take on the beloved map every time it returns.

However, with only a few in-game years having passed since Cold War’s Nuketown ’84, we don’t expect Black Ops 6’s 1990s version of the map to be too wild.

Love Is Blind’s Hannah and Nick D. on Love Triangle With Leo, Brittany

      0
Love Is Blind’s Hannah and Nick D. on Love Triangle With Leo, Brittany

Season 7 of Love Is Blind featured a love triangle — or rectangle — between Hannah Jiles, Nick Dorka, Leo Braudy and Brittany Wisniewski.

In the pods, Hannah was torn between Nick D. and Leo, initially breaking up with Nick D. because she thought her connection with Leo (who was also seeing Brittany) was stronger.

“I think it was really hard with Leo and Nick because I liked them both and they’re very different,” Hannah told Us Weekly before the show started streaming on Wednesday, October 2. “And so I was like, ‘OK, I think I need to make a decision. … Nick, I think we need to break up. I just think maybe we’re just not compatible.’ And then as soon as I broke up with him I was like, [sobbing face]’ so I was like, ‘Maybe I made the wrong decision.’ I just instantly regretted it and I knew. I chose Nick because I just, like, knew he was my person.”

Nick D., for his part, told Us that he wasn’t surprised that Hannah gave him another shot. “I felt like it wasn’t the last conversation we were gonna have,” he said. “I’m just glad she came around because I was ready to talk to her again.”

      Adam Rose/Netflix(3)

After Hannah informed Leo that she was definitely moving forward with Nick D., the art dealer started to spiral and tried to get her to change her mind. The following day, he apologized and then flipped the script — telling Hannah he was always going to pick Brittany and asking her to put in a good word with her housemate. Hannah refused, but Brittany accepted a proposal from Leo regardless.

After one of the most awkward post-pod reveals ever (complete with Brittany going blank when asked what she loved about Leo), it was revealed that the twosome split off camera weeks later.

Since the premiere of Love Is Blind in 2020, fans have wondered how effective the concept of speed-dating without seeing the other person actually is. Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton, who got married on day 40 of the dating experiment, found their happily ever on the show. However, Lauren later admitted that finding The One […]

“I don’t really know if I was surprised or not,” Hannah told Us of their breakup.”I wasn’t in the pods listening to their conversations. I really had no clue how intimate and deep they were. So whether they stayed together for forever [or] they didn’t work out, I didn’t know [what to expect].”

Nick D. had a similar response, noting that “sometimes experiments don’t work.” He and Tyler Francis also defended Leo when learning from Us that it appeared he flaunted his finances and art dealer job on the show.

Telling Us that Leo didn’t talk about money “that much at all” in the men’s quarters, Tyler added: “I actually joked with him. I was like, ‘Hey, Rolex.’ That was it. But it was passed down through his grandparents. That was the only thing that’s ever been talked about.”

So if it wasn’t the obsession over his Rolex, why did Leo and Brittany pull the plug?

“We had this conversation of how things could work out, and we went over our daily schedules and how we would fit into each other’s lives, and then once we got to Miami, we just felt the disconnect,” Brittany told Entertainment Weekly. “One night we had a very mutual conversation of like, ‘OK, clearly some shift is happening here, and maybe we are just good friends.’ There is no bad blood or anything, so nothing crazy happened. I’m very lucky of how that turned out. … Something wasn’t there. And I can’t explain what it is, but we both felt it and we just had a mutual understanding of it and did our best, but we did ultimately move on.”

While Brittany and Leo didn’t go to Mexico with the cast, Hannah and Nick D. got into their second blowup fight on the trip. Things took a turn for the pair when he started joking around with an older woman on the beach while riding a fake duck (yes, really), ultimately giving his fiancée the ick.

“I think it was blown out of proportion a little bit,” Nick D. told Us of Hannah’s reaction. “I also understand why she got a little bit upset, but it was harmless and I was just having fun and I wish the situation went a little bit different, but I see where she’s coming from.”

The first six episodes of Love Is Blind season 7 are currently streaming on Netflix.

Swift to begin trials for digital asset transactions across global network in 2025

Receive, Manage & Grow Your Crypto Investments With Brighty

SWIFT, the global bank messaging network, announced that banks across North America, Europe, and Asia will begin live trials of digital assets and currency transactions over its network starting next year, according to an Oct. 3 statement.

These trials will explore how financial institutions can leverage their existing SWIFT connections to process transactions involving both traditional and digital assets.

      ‘Digital islands’

SWIFT pointed out that institutional interest in digital assets is rapidly growing, with 134 countries exploring CBDCs. The tokenized asset market could reach $30 trillion by 2034, and 91% of institutional investors have shown interest in it.

SWIFT aims to demonstrate how its network can ease connectivity challenges between digital platforms, which remain a major barrier to broader sector adoption. The company highlighted that the trials will focus on streamlining connections between disparate digital systems, often referred to as “digital islands,” which hinder the seamless use of digital assets.

Tom Zschach, SWIFT’s Chief Innovation Officer, emphasized the importance of integrating both digital and traditional assets, stating:

“As new forms of value emerge, our intention is to continue offering our community the ability to seamlessly make and track transactions of all kinds of assets – using the same secure and resilient infrastructure that is integral to their operations today.”

To support these efforts, SWIFT plans to enhance its infrastructure, developing an advanced system capable of managing digital asset and currency transactions across various networks. This follows the company’s previous work in linking public and private blockchains, as well as its efforts to connect Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and integrate other digital assets.

Already, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and Banque de France are collaborating with SWIFT in preparation for next year’s trials. They are exploring SWIFT’s capabilities in foreign exchange experiments as part of the European Central Bank’s initiative to advance new technologies for wholesale payments.

SWIFT is also examining how its interlinking capabilities could connect emerging bank-led networks, like the US Regulated Settlement Network, to traditional financial systems.

Additionally, the company has joined Project Agora, a Bank for International Settlements-led initiative. This project focuses on integrating tokenized commercial bank deposits and tokenized wholesale CBDCs on a unified platform.

A Look at Couture Moments at Dior Men Winter 2024

A Look at Couture Moments at Dior Men Winter 2024

The closing look of the Dior Men Winter 2024 runway collection was one of many men’s haute couture looks. (SASHA MARRO)

Although haute couture was largely controlled by men since its beginning in the 17th century, it has always been regarded as part of the women’s universe—even if men’s fashion during the time had just about the same level of intricacy as women’s. Haute couture has often been in reference to the elaborate court dresses that only master tailors were allowed to produce for noblewomen, while couturières (female designers) could only work on casual dress.

Haute couture techniques are emphasised more than ever for Winter 2024.(SOPHIE CARRE)

Societal shifts have further segmented fashion terminologies in the present day. Haute couture—while still remaining a male-dominated sector—largely deals with custom pieces for women; the closest male equivalent would be Savile Row’s bespoke tailoring, which, while employing a similar level of custom tailoring, is arguably less labour-intensive and intricate than haute couture.

Haute couture techniques are emphasised more than ever for Winter 2024.(SOPHIE CARRE)

At Dior Men, artistic director Kim Jones’ constant deep dives into the house’s couture heritage have culminated in his first collection of couture pieces for men. Shown during the Rudolf Nureyev-inspired Winter 2024 runway show, the haute couture pieces closed as nods to the ballet dancer’s more flamboyant persona. Familiar menswear silhouettes that reflect nuances of movement and sport are handcrafted with embroideries (inspired by archive ball gowns) and employ the use of traditional techniques.

A silk crepe kimono closed the show. Worn over a romper, it’s one of a few pieces in the collection that was inspired by Nureyev’s collection of vintage textiles and clothing. The particular piece features embroidered tulle ribbons treated in a gradation of hues that seem to endlessly journey throughout the kimono. A silk organza top using the same application is found in a prior look, its sheerness displaying the detailed artistry as the ribbons appear to float and dance around the torso.

      (SASHA MARRO)

It’s fair to say that while the Winter 2024 collection marks Jones’ first haute couture collection for Dior Men, he’s no stranger to adapting couture techniques in past ready-to-wear collections. It’s difficult not to—Dior’s haute couture heritage runs deep with iconic haute couture creations still being referenced by designers within and beyond the house. And if anyone could make men’s haute couture part of the mainstream, it’s Jones.

Princess Kate’s appearance as she embraces teen cancer patient leaves fans gushing

Kate, Princess of Wales, met a cancer patient this week and the heartwarming meeting was documented on social media.

Kate herself has recently finished chemotherapy for a disclosed form of cancer. She is slowly getting back to public appearance and duties.

This week, Kate, 42, and husband Prince William, 42, met Liz Hatton, 16. Liz, a budding photographer, was told by doctors earlier this year that she had between six months and three years to live.

Liz was invited by Prince William to photograph investiture recipients receiving their honours on Wednesday.

She photographed cyclist Sir Mark Cavendish being knighted by the Prince of Wales.

Liz was diagnosed with desmoplastic small round cell tumour in January. After her diagnosis, she shared a “bucket list” online of all the things she wanted to capture by the camera.

The list included her wish to take pictures of a music festival, a fashion shoot and the rehearsal of a major musical.

Liz has clearly inspired the Prince and Princess of Wales. They posted a couple of pictures to their Instagram account on Wednesday.

The first showed Kate embracing Liz in a warm hug, and the other saw the royal couple smiling alongside Liz and her family.

Such lovely, genuine and kind people.

They wrote: “A pleasure to meet with Liz at Windsor today. A talented young photographer whose creativity and strength has inspired us both. Thank you for sharing your photos and story with us. W&C.”

Meanwhile, Liz wrote on her Instagram Story: “Such lovely, genuine and kind people. I’m over the moon that my family and I had this experience.”

Another commented: “So lovely to see HRH easing back into engagements!!!”

Someone else added: “The first picture has my heart. It’s so great to see the Princess of Wales back!”

Another said: “It’s lovely to see the genuine Princess Kate. Sending lots of hugs her way from me!”

Meanwhile, Kensington Palace shared some details on the meeting. They said: “Following the investiture, both the Prince and Princess of Wales met Liz privately with her family to hear about her day and journey.”

In September, Kate announced she had completed her chemotherapy treatment. She had shared her cancer diagnosis publicly in March.

She said: “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family.

“This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.

“Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus.”

Streamlined Image Sharing: Gemini’s New Android Feature – Metaverseplanet.net

Streamlined Image Sharing: Gemini’s New Android Feature – Metaverseplanet.net

Gemini introduces an exciting new feature for Android users, allowing them to share images directly from other apps. With the latest update, users can now easily add visual content alongside text commands. Version 1.0.668480831 of Gemini enables users to import images from Google Photos or other Android apps straight into the Gemini app.

By selecting the Gemini icon from Android’s share menu, users can quickly and conveniently share their pictures. However, this functionality is currently limited to visuals, as links and text cannot be transferred to Gemini.

Previously, adding an image to Gemini required opening the app, selecting the image from the gallery, and then adding the text prompt. This process could be cumbersome, especially if the image was stored in cloud services or other apps. Now, users can streamline the process by simply tapping the Gemini icon.

However, there is one limitation: this new feature does not work within the overlay interface, requiring users to exit their current applications. While the latest Gemini update improves image sharing efficiency, the restriction with the overlay interface may be inconvenient for some users. Nonetheless, this innovation has significantly enhanced Gemini’s functionality.

X Empire Reveals Airdrop Criteria and Launches New ‘Chill Phase’ Rewards

X Empire Reveals Airdrop Criteria and Launches New ‘Chill Phase’ Rewards

X Empire has recently unveiled additional details about its airdrop and introduced a thrilling new phase for players. As the project nears completion of its token distribution, people who have helped build and test the game will be rewarded. Not only is 70% of the token supply earmarked for community distribution, but X Empire also has tacked on an additional 5% “Chill Phase” bonus. Here’s what you need to know about the X Empire criteria and the new opportunities for players before the launch of the token in October.

        Primary X Empire Criteria

X Empire has verified that several basic contributions will form the basis of the first part of its airdrop. These primary factors will mainly concern the leading invitees—the number and quality of invited friends. Next up will be the profit per hour of the leading players, followed by the completed quests of these same primary invitees.

The players who have brought in new, current members, increased their own earnings and completed additional in-game tasks this past season is on track to receive a bigger slice of the tokens when they are distributed. This should ensure that the most engaged players and community members get rewards for the time they have put into the game.

        Additional Factors

Besides the basic elements, X Empire has added a group of secondary factors to assist in deciding how best to allocate the tokens. How many wallets an entity connects to, the volume of transactions it performs using the TON blockchain, and whether or not it uses Telegram Premium—all these things matter.

While not mandatory, TON transactions—covering both donations and purchases—reflect your support for the project. These contributions have allowed X Empire to grow and expand. Anyone who participated in these activities could see an uptick in their token rewards.

The New ‘Chill Phase’: An Additional 5% Allocation

X Empire has reworked its tokenomics and brought in a new “Chill Phase,” with an extra 5% (34.5 billion $X tokens) allocated for the airdrop. The Chill Phase is a live competition for players, with all in-game characters fresh for a new start. It will run for only a few weeks, and both veterans and newbies will have the opportunity to battle for more airdrop rewards.

Moreover, you don’t have to take part in the Chill Phase, and it won’t impact the 70% of tokens already allocated from the first phase. But for those who do participate, it’s not a bad chance to progress toward earning a share of the tokens still up for grabs. Veteran players can think of it as a chance to get in some seasoning and feel the thrill of progressing quickly. And newcomers to the game have a shot at making themselves relevant and earning some tokens.

Curious about other opportunities? Be sure to check out the top TON airdrops for October to boost your rewards even further.

        Conclusion

Thanks to the Chill Phase bonus, a total of 75% of the tokens have now been allocated for the airdrop. X Empire is in the final stage of preparations for its Token Generation Event (TGE). The listing is expected to take place in mid-October. While we don’t know the exact date yet, players should keep an eye out for developments regarding the TGE, which X Empire have said will be announced in the coming days.
