Nick Cannon Claims That He Left Diddy’s Parties ‘Early’

Since news of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest made headlines, several celebrities have been dragged into the discourse due to their association with the rapper.

In a new interview, popular host Nick Cannon, who previously talked about attending Diddy’s parties at the age of 16, claims he never saw anything odd happen at the events.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently locked up in jail as he awaits his trial next year after failing to secure bail on two occasions.

During a recent appearance on the “No Jumper” podcast, TV host Nick Cannon commented on the arrest of Diddy and the accusations against the rapper.

Cannon noted that he never saw the sex orgies, which have been described as “Freak Offs,” that were said to have taken place at Diddy’s parties.

Nick, who previously stunned fans after admitting to attending the parties at the age of 16, stressed that he always left “early” as he was the DJ.

When the podcast co-host, Adam, asked, “How did you avoid those parties?” seemingly referring to the “freak offs,” Cannon replied, “I leave early, I’m the DJ when it’s time for me to wrap up, we out.”

According to the Daily Mail, He added, “I’ve never seen none of that.”

Cannon further noted that Diddy’s “Karma is on trial” and that “whatever they’ve got, we’re gonna see in… what, May?” referring to the rapper’s upcoming trial, which has been scheduled for May 2025.

During the podcast interview, the second host, Wack, stirred the conversation to the topic of the massive amount of baby oil bottles found at Diddy’s homes.

He said, “For the record, I’m gonna say this, ain’t no crime against having a thousand bottles of baby oil!” to which his co-host Adam retorted: “It is if they have GHB in them,” referring to a drug popularly described as a date rape drug.

Wack, responding to Adam, said, “You don’t think that the Feds would have said that?” prompting Cannon to note: “I think there’s so much sh-t that’s sensationalized.”

While it has yet to be confirmed if GHB was found in the bottles of lube and baby oil confiscated at Diddy’s homes, lawsuits against the rapper claim he used baby oil laced with the drug on his victims to make it easier for him to assault them.

Nick Cannon Felt The Rapper Was ‘Evolving’ Before His Arrest

Still, during the “No Jumper” podcast, Cannon seemed to hint that he didn’t believe claims the rapper sexually assaulted children, saying, “I don’t believe any of that.”

Cannon shared, “The Puff I knew, I started to see, I felt like he wanted to change and was evolving and was, like, ‘Yo, I want to be the father,’ like he had been through so much sh-t.”

When the hosts said money and fame could change a person, Cannon stated, “As we’ve all seen, Puff is a legendary a-shole. That’s why I’m saying it’s an energy thing.”

He continued, “If you’ve been a legendary a-shole and by any means necessary, and you name your company Bad Boy, you ain’t gonna have a lot of [redacted word] rooting for you when sh-t gets tough.”

Cannon’s recent remarks come after he revealed on “The Breakfast Club” that he attended Diddy’s parties when he was just 16 years old, to the shock of the hosts of the show.

During a discussion about the hip-hop mogul, Cannon and host Jess Hilarious admitted to attending his now-infamous parties with the comedian confessing that he has “even been to one when [he] was a kid like 16, 17 standing outside.”

The other hosts, Charlamagne tha God and DJ Envy reacted to the news by letting out a very audible grunt.

“I’ve lived my truth,” Cannon said. “I remember standing outside, you know, trying to get into a Puff party out here in New York.”

The TV host continued, “Like how the One More Chance video look, that was real stuff out here. Like people standing at the door, who can get in and stuff. Bad Boy parties was official in New York in the late ’90s.”

Marlon Wayans Also Claimed He Never Saw ‘Freaks Offs’ At Diddy’s Parties

Cannon is not the only celebrity to have owned up to attending Diddy’s parties while also stating that nothing terrible happened.

Before Diddy’s arrest, Marlon Wayans had spoken about the rapper’s parties on Shannon Sharpe’s popular podcast, “Club Shay Shay.”

There, the actor made the claim that he had only attended a handful of those events and left early while also citing that he never saw any of the horrible things Diddy was being accused of.

Following the appearance, fans claimed he lied and pointed to an old tweet in which he raved about the music mogul parties.

The tweet read, “Been doin’ Diddy parties for 15 years, and I must say you never let me down Puff. Ain’t no party like a Diddy party. Good times. People!”

In response to the criticism, Wayans posted that he had no intention of retracting his earlier statement.

“Yup! And i still stand by that,” he retorted. “I’ve never seen or been a part of nothing but good vibes and energy with CLOTHES ON! So yeah, and i [am not] rushing to take down old tweets or anything. I ain’t got sh-t to hide. Period.”

The God Of War TV Series Beams Up A Star Trek Legend As New Showrunner – SlashFilm

The God Of War TV Series Beams Up A Star Trek Legend As New Showrunner – SlashFilm

Grab your Leviathan Axe and cue up the music of Bear McCreary, because “Star Trek” and “Battlestar Galactica” veteran writer and showrunner Ronald D. Moore has just been chosen to run the writers room, executive produce, and write for the new Sony TV/Amazon MGM Studios’ Prime Video series “God of War” per Deadline. For those of you who’ve been fans of the video game franchise that bears the same name, let’s clear up a canon question right away: this new series is due to be based on the 2018 reboot version of the game, which takes its cue from Norse mythology as opposed to the original series of games published from 2005-2013, which were based on Greek mythology.

That’s not to say Greek mythology is totally off the table, of course, because the 2018 game still sees the same protagonist/player character of Kratos some 150 years after 2010’s “God of War III,” and this TV version may have a highly similar backstory of battling the Greek gods on a mission of vengeance. All of this material seems very much up Moore’s alley, as the prolific television guru has tackled various elements of Earth mythology in his previous work for “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” and “Battlestar Galactica.” That latter series may particularly indicate the direction Moore might take “God of War,” given that “BSG” and “GoW” share similar themes of fathers and sons. In any case, the news is an exciting development coming out of Moore’s recent deal with Sony Pictures Television, the production company with which he developed two other hit series: “Outlander” and “For All Mankind,” both of which have their own spinoff series due to hit screens shortly.

Will God of War be more action or drama-oriented?

As of this moment, it’s not certain where Moore intends to take “God of War” as a series. He’s no stranger to adapting pre-existing sci-fi/fantasy material, given his history with “Trek,” “Battlestar,” and “Outlander,” as well as the anthology “Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams.” If “God of War” were being developed as a feature, it’d undoubtedly have a large focus on the game’s history of hack-n-slash gameplay. Given that the 2018 “God of War” game is a more emotional and thoughtful story of a father and son (while still being ostensibly an action game with RPG elements), it’s perhaps this confusion of focus that led to the “God of War” series losing its initial creative team of showrunner Rafe Judkins and executive producers Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus. Moore’s work, by and large, tends to be more thoughtful and character-driven than too focused on big action setpieces, and it’s possible that this changeover signals the series moving in such a direction.

That said, it’s also possible that Sony/Amazon are looking to distinguish this series from another, similarly themed upcoming Netflix series: Michael Bay’s “Barbaric,” which by all accounts sounds like it’s going to be very action-focused. Even if Moore and his team are looking to make their “God of War” with more depth than Bay’s show, it can safely be said that their series will retain some modicum of the game’s hard-hitting battles. Perhaps the switch in focus will bring the show in line with another video game adaptation that’s been lauded for its depth, HBO Max’s “The Last of Us.” Whatever Moore and company end up with, the showrunner is a very good person to bet on when it comes to small-screen success. Like Kratos himself, Moore knows how to plan for the long haul. We’ll see if he does it again when “God of War” hits Prime Video in the near future.

Everything You Need to Know Ahead of the ‘X Empire’ Telegram Game Airdrop – Decrypt

        0
Everything You Need to Know Ahead of the ‘X Empire’ Telegram Game Airdrop – Decrypt

The hotly anticipated X Empire token launch and airdrop is fast approaching. Millions of players have been tapping away at the Elon Musk-themed game through its regular cycle and a bonus “Chill Phase,” all because of the promise of an upcoming airdrop.

On October 24 at 12pm UTC, the X token will launch onto The Open Network (TON) alongside an airdrop to a portion of its player base, which topped 50 million players during the final phase.

Those who qualified had their slice of the pie revealed to them on Friday, but players were left without a share—going directly to Mr. Musk himself to complain, despite no official connection to the game. Developers said that about 6 million players were ultimately eligible to claim tokens.

Despite the pushback, eligible users will want to claim their airdrop and know what they can do with their X tokens. If that’s you, then don’t worry, as we’ve collected all the information you need ahead of the big day.

How can I claim the airdrop?

Now that X Empire has officially paused gameplay, all you’ll see now when you open the Telegram mini app is a page detailing the airdrop.

In a large orange box, you will see the amount of X tokens that you have earned through both phases of the game. Underneath this box, you will see an option to donate your tokens to charity, to Telegram founder Pavel Durov, or to the X Empire team—but please remember that any donated tokens will not be airdropped to your wallet.

Below both the orange box and charity option, you will find a number of withdrawal options. This includes a number of centralized exchanges (including OKX, Bybit, and Bitget), an airdrop straight into the Telegram Wallet app, and finally an “on-chain” option for other self-custody wallets.

        Image: Decrypt

Withdrawing to an exchange or the Telegram Wallet app won’t come with fees, though you will have to pay a network fee for the “on-chain” option for other wallets. Luckily, the average fee on TON is only about $0.02, so it’s not a huge deal.

Before selecting a centralized exchange option, ensure you have already created an account and completed the know-your-customer (KYC) process. After doing this and selecting your desired exchange on X Empire, you’ll simply be required to enter your ID and deposit address to claim your tokens.

This process will be very similar for the on-chain and Telegram wallet withdrawal options, albeit without KYC.

If you purchased one of the NFTs created for pre-market trading, the X Empire mini app also has an explainer detailing the process for redeeming these NFTs for X tokens.

What can I do with the token?

As with every token, you could sell it—but for how much is still yet to be seen. Pre-market trading on Bitget and KuCoin currently estimates that X will be valued at approximately $0.0002. However, it’s important to note that this is purely speculation, and more often than not the pre-market price doesn’t align with the actual price once the token is generated.

But that’s not all you can do with X, as X Empire is planning a number of new apps and partnerships that will utilize the soon-to-launch token.

The project claims that mini app partners will “very soon” announce an airdrop for X token holders, some of which have already been revealed. For example, TON app Memes Lab and play-to-earn game Staff Only will both allocate 2% of their total token supplies to reward active X holders.

“All these projects are already well-established companies with large audiences and potential, and we will tell you about each one individually,” a Telegram post stated.

Equally, X Empire is working on a collection of “utility apps” that promise to use the X token, including a news feed, language learning app, and sleep tracker. How these apps will specifically benefit X token holders remains to be seen.

        What happens after the airdrop?

Besides those apps, X Empire’s flagship tap-to-earn game is likely to continue in some form. Following the airdrop, 25% of the total token supply remains allocated for “new users and phases.” It’s important to note that this initial airdrop covers 75% of the total supply—meaning that the next phase will likely reward players with fewer tokens.

When exactly X Empire will enter its third phase has yet to be announced. Previous Telegram tap-to-earn games have looked to reinvent themselves to keep players interested in what is otherwise a monotonous genre, and we may see the same from X Empire.

Hamster Kombat, for example, revealed its season two overhaul, which will see players build a video game studio and platform rather than running a hamster-operated crypto exchange. This is set for release “at the end of October,” a month after its September airdrop.

How X Empire will keep players interested in its tap-to-earn component has yet to be announced, however, with all eyes currently on Thursday’s big airdrop.

Tasha Ghouri explains reason behind ‘deflated’ Strictly appearance following viewer backlash

Tasha Ghouri has revealed the truth behind her “deflated” appearance on Strictly Come Dancing last weekend.

Tasha and pro partner Aljaz Skorjanec performed a tango to Dog Days Are Over by Florence + The Machine last Saturday. They bagged 34 points out of a possible 40.

During an appearance on It Takes Two tonight, Tasha explained she had had a “rough” week before the routine. It came after backlash over the pair’s Charleston performance in week four.

Host Fleur East asked: “Tasha, after the performance, you seemed a little bit deflated. What was going through your mind?”

Tasha replied: “I’ll be honest, I think I had quite a rough week last week, emotionally, and I think there was a lot of noise that happened after we did the Charleston.

“There was a lot of people saying different things and I started to feel like, ‘do I deserve to be here?’

“There was a point where I did start to feel like that.”

She continued: “In rehearsals, I had a really good chat and Aljaz was really there for me. He picked me up and said, ‘look you do deserve to be here. You’ve got this, we’re in this together.’

“I let that noise cloud my head a little bit in rehearsals. Eventually I thought I’m here for myself and I’m here to make my friends and family proud and take on this experience.”

She then vowed: “I’m going to work harder this week.”

Tasha and Aljaz had performed a Charleston in week four of the competition.

They scored an impressive 39 points out of 40, bagging three 10s from the judges.

However, viewers were divided and many insisted she didn’t ‘deserve’ the 10s.

One person said: “Sorry but Tasha is overmarked.”

The Traitors Finland star ‘murdered’ aged 29 as police say his death was “deliberate and cruel”

One of the stars of The Traitors Finland, Janne Puhakka, 29, has been shot dead, local media have reported.

Janne was the country’s first openly gay ice hockey player. His estranged partner Rolf Nordmo, 66, is suspected of killing Janne. He has allegedly told police that he shot Janne at their home on October 13.

As a result of his death, Finnish TV bosses have now decided not to show the final episode in the series of The Traitors. It featured Janne acting as a Traitor.

Death of The Traitors Finland star

Nordmo has allegedly told police that he killed Janne – who was 37 years his junior – using a hunting shotgun, according to Finnish paper YLE.

Janne was a contestant on the pre-recorded second series of Finland‘s The Traitors. He had reached the final alongside Green MP Fatim Diarra.

“We have come to the decision that right now is not the right time to show the episode. We will return to the question of the possible presentation of the episode later,” a spokesperson from The Traitors said.

Police confirm ‘suspect and victim knew each other’

Matti Högman, who is leading the police investigation, told the paper that Janne had moved out of the home he shared with Nordmo after the relationship ended “several weeks ago”.

It’s alleged that when Janne returned to the property for “practical matters”, Nordmo grabbed the gun.

Högman added that violence was used “more than necessary” in the death.

The detective also added there was “reason to believe the suspect’s actions were deliberate and cruel”. He also believes the “suspect and victim knew each other”.

Meet John Mann, the Chief Technology Officer at Obsess

            0
Meet John Mann, the Chief Technology Officer at Obsess

To start off our “Meet the Leadership Team” initiative, we would like to introduce John Mann, the Chief Technology Officer at Obsess. We asked John to share some highlights from his remarkable journey in the technology industry and some insights he’s gathered over the years. Here’s what he had to say:

            Q. Could you share some highlights of your professional experience and how that path led you to Obsess today?

JM: Absolutely. My journey to Obsess was somewhat random. I had worked at a FinTech company three jobs prior, and during COVID, I was the CTO of two different companies simultaneously. When they decided to move in a different direction, I was let go and started job hunting. Through a network connection, I ended up building 5G networks and software for the government, which was completely outside of the retail space. However, I soon realized that wasn’t what I wanted to do—I missed the web development world and the startup environment.

That’s when I came across Obsess. Within a two-day window, I learned about retail, fashion and three.js, and I knew this was exactly what I wanted to pursue. My job search helped me realize what I didn’t want to do, and ultimately, it led me to Obsess, where I found the best engineering team I’ve ever worked with.

Before this, I worked at Microsoft for seven years, where I was involved in some significant projects like Xbox Live sign-up, Windows Live sign-up and even touched the Hotmail sign-up early in my career. I also worked on MSN internet access (yes, dial-up!) and had a brief stint at Getty Images, among other projects. After that, I fell in love with startups—working on everything from insurance to compliance software, travel advertisements and even parts management for planes. After trying corporate life post-Microsoft, I realized it wasn’t for me and have been in startups ever since.

            Q.  What initially inspired you to enter the tech space, and what continues to motivate you today?

JM: My initial inspiration came from a friend of mine. I’ve been coding since I was nine years old. I started with a Commodore VIC-20, then a Commodore 64, and coding became a hobby throughout high school and into college. A friend of mine, Donovan (I have to give him credit!), asked me why I wasn’t studying computer science. At that point, I didn’t think I could make a living coding, but when I realized it was a real job, I thought, “I’m going to write code whether I get paid or not—so why not get paid to do it?” Donovan even got me my first job out of college.

As for what continues to motivate me, it’s the constant learning process. For example, I’ve recently learned three.js and now work on 3D retail stores. Then, with the launch of Apple Vision Pro, I started exploring SwiftUI for its operating system. Each new tech stack excites me, and I love learning enough about it to teach it, which allows me to see its strengths and weaknesses. That passion for learning and teaching keeps me going.

            Q.  The launch of Apple Vision Pro was a huge moment for Obsess, developing the first-ever shopping apps on the device. How do you see the future of virtual reality and augmented reality evolving for brands, and what opportunities will this technology create, both in retail and beyond?

JM: I think the big advantage in the VR and AR world, is not just the information you’ll have access to in those spaces, it’s the virtual connections that you have—the social environment—and adding that to shopping. In Soho you see so many tourists, not shopping by themselves, but shopping with groups, and they like that social “Hey, what do you think of this?” “Do you like this outfit?” “Oh, let’s go to this store”. That social component is going to be so critical in the VR space, and the headsets actually allow you to emulate pretty closely, to be next to the person, and have that level of connection. I think that’s going to be huge. I think that’s the big future of shopping in the VR space.

            Q.  I can definitely see the social aspect transforming the shopping experience. Now, onto another hot topic—AI. How is Obsess currently integrating AI into its virtual experiences, and what are some key ways AI will shape the future of these experiences?

JM: We’re already using AI in several areas, from scene and store design to generating 3D models of products. We’re also working on AI-powered virtual store associates that interact with customers, offering personalized recommendations like, “Is this makeup right for me?” or “Does this dress suit me?”. The advancement of generative AI in the last year has been remarkable, making it 5 to 10 times better than it was just a year ago.

Looking forward, AI will shape experiences through faster generation and personalization. For instance, it could analyze shopping habits to make tailored product recommendations, similar to how Spotify personalizes music suggestions. Imagine a retail experience where AI recommends items based on your shopping history, preferences and trends—creating an entirely personalized experience. Of course, there are privacy concerns and compliance issues like GDPR and CCPA, but AI-driven personalization will be a game-changer in retail.

            Q.  Absolutely, personalization is going to be huge. Lastly, Obsess has worked with many leading brands across fashion, beauty, CPG and more, creating over 350 virtual experiences to date. Is there a particular experience or project that best showcases the technological strengths of the Obsess platform?

JM: There have been a lot of amazing projects, but one that stands out is Crate & Barrel. The realism we were able to achieve, from the store transitions to the rooftop views, and the ability to change scenes inside the store—it was remarkable. The way our platform managed the products, environments and interactions all came together seamlessly. Another highlight was our work on J.Crew’s app for Apple Vision Pro. That was one of the most complex and exciting projects I’ve ever worked on. The photorealistic environments, the ability to change outfits and interact with the mannequins—it was truly immersive. J.Crew on Apple Vision Pro was a whole new level, and despite being a brand-new operating system, we pulled it off with a lot of hard work and fun.

Japan’s government actively promotes Web3 as a national policy, creating a favorable environment for conducting Web3 businesses there. In an exclusive interview with CryptoSlate, Tsukada from Monex Group explains that this includes “tax reforms for handling digital assets, accounting preparations, the legal positioning of DAOs, recommendations for local governments to enter Web3 and adopt the metaverse, support for exchanges with overseas talents, and Web3 events.”

Additionally, Japan has required the registration of cryptocurrency exchange operators since 2017, ensuring the “safe management of user information, regulated advertising and solicitation, and established an environment where users can utilize services with maximum protection and safety.”

This regulatory clarity has paved the way for further Web3 innovation, as Tsukada notes that in 2023, “it became possible to issue stablecoins backed by legal tender, allowing various companies, including existing financial institutions, to issue stablecoins.”

Major Japanese Corporations are Diving into Web3

The favorable regulatory environment has encouraged large Japanese corporations to enter the Web3 space. As Tsukada explains:

“NTT Docomo, the largest telecommunications company, has started developing its own wallet and is working on creating a user-friendly Web3 environment and rules. In the gaming industry, major companies like Square Enix are developing Web3 games using their IPs.”

The entry of these corporate giants signals the maturing of Japan’s Web3 ecosystem. Tsukada cites the success of Brilliant Crypto, which “conducted an IEO on Coincheck, our subsidiary and the largest CEX in Japan, reached a record high of 33.3 billion yen.”

He says this “is a great example of leveraging Web2 know-how to enter the Web3 gaming space successfully.”

Monex Group: A Diversified Financial Firm Embracing Web3

Monex Group, Inc. is a financial holding company with over 20 years of history, encompassing subsidiaries such as the centralized cryptocurrency exchange Coincheck, crypto asset consulting firms, AI startups, and securities companies.

            As Tsukada explains:

“Monex Group provides various services related to crypto assets and blockchain, including the ‘MCB Web3 Newsletter’ and ‘MCB Research,’ the NFT project ‘OASIS,’ and the news app ‘Cheeese,’ which rewards users with Bitcoin. Established in December 2017, we have been focusing particularly on Web3 support services since last year, supporting the development of various services and the Japanese market.”

Monex Group’s Web3 Consulting Business: Leveraging In-House Expertise

Recognizing the growing demand for Web3 expertise in Japan, Monex Group has established a Web3 consulting business.  As Tsukada elaborated:

“In the Web3 consulting business, we support companies entering Web3 by leveraging the know-how accumulated by Monex Group. We offer a wide range of support, from NFT community building and operation to NFT planning, issuance, and tokenomics consultation.”

Monex has already supported the “construction and operation of NFT projects for major automotive and Japanese local governments” and is currently “strengthening our support for overseas Web3 projects entering the Japanese market.”

The company’s Web3 consulting services include:

Web3 Business Research and PlanningNFT Planning, Issuance, and SalesCommunity Building/OperationMetaverse Development/CollaborationIEO Support/Tokenomics Design

Tsukada notes that Monex’s strengths in this area include “the reliability of being associated with a listed company,” its ability to “collaborate across the group” in various business developments, and “real-time feedback and insights from our community and metaverse services, used to build Web3 communities and market them.”

The OASIS Project: Monex’s Innovative NFT Community

A key part of Monex’s Web3 expertise comes from its in-house project, OASIS. As Asami explains:

“OASIS is a digital community that started in January 2023 with the concept of creating opportunities for transformation and new encounters. It was built from scratch as part of a listed company group in Japan’s highly regulated Web3 market. It is an innovative and challenging initiative, issuing and selling NFTs with almost no prior examples.”

One unique aspect of OASIS is its “cross-utilization of various metaverses.” Asami said:

“We are developing cities in Web3 metaverses like The Sandbox and Decentraland. We also have worlds in Fortnite and Cluster, Japan’s largest metaverse, and XANA, with further expansion planned.”

This multi-metaverse approach has allowed OASIS to attract a large community of nearly 30,000 members, making it “one of Japan’s largest.” Asami notes that the community “facilitates easy collaboration with many companies and projects” by discussing a “rich variety of themes” such as AI and Japan’s Vtuber culture.

Supporting Companies Entering the Japanese Web3 Market

Monex’s experience with the OASIS project has provided valuable insights that the company is now leveraging to support other organizations entering the Japanese Web3 market.

            As Tsukada explains:

“Through the OASIS project, we gained extensive knowledge about community management and handling NFTs. We learned that many companies struggle with Web3 community building through interactions with external organizations and overseas projects. Therefore, we thought we could support companies entering the Web3 space through consulting.”

Monex’s strengths in this area include “the reliability of being associated with a listed company,” its ability to “collaborate across the group,” and access to “real-time feedback and insights from our community and metaverse services, used to build Web3 communities and market them.”

The company has already “started joint Web3 service construction with major domestic automotive” and “collaborated with local governments on regional contributions through Web3.”

Looking Ahead: Monex Group’s Presence at Upcoming Web3 Events

Monex Group actively showcases its Web3 expertise and services at major industry events. The company organized a side event called “Japan Crypto Fusion” at TOKEN2049 in Dubai, which attracted a strong turnout despite a schedule change due to record-breaking rainfall.

Additionally, Monex Group is planning to have a significant presence at the upcoming “NexTeck Week2024” technology festival in Tokyo in November, where the company is seeking partners to exhibit with them.

As the Japanese Web3 market continues to evolve, Monex Group’s diverse financial services and innovative approach to community building and consulting make it a key player in the country’s burgeoning ecosystem. If you have even a slight interest in expanding into the Japanese market, it would be wise to submit an inquiry.
