Kody Brown Blames Rifts In His Life On His Kids’ Betrayal

Kody Brownis pointing fingers at his children’s supposed betrayal for the turmoil within his family.

The “Sister Wives” patriarch recently stormed out of a heated discussion with his fourth and only remaining wife, Robyn Brown, as they tackled the topic of his strained relationships with his kids.

Tensions have been building for a while, especially since Robyn Brown’s daughters, Aurora and Breanna, expressed their feelings of exclusion after joining Kody Brown’s plural family.

Kody Brown Storms Out After Fiery Argument With Robyn Brown Over Family Tensions

In a tense new episode of TLC’s “Sister Wives,” the father-of-eighteen expressed his frustrations, revealing the strain in his relationships with his older children. Kody shed more light in his confessional, saying:

“Robyn is extremely upset that I’m not reaching out more to my children.”

He implied that the issues with his children are spilling over into his relationship with Robyn. The TV personality suggested that his children’s actions have led to significant emotional distance or conflict in his life. In his words:

“I’m not gonna sit here and fight with you, have a rift in our relationship caused by these people who have created the biggest rift in my life.”

TooFab reported that though he eventually returned to the house, their conversation quickly turned back to the subject of Kody’s relationships with his older kids from previous marriages to Christine, Janelle, and Meri.

Robyn pressed Kody to reconnect with them, insisting that he should not give up on his parental responsibilities. “I’m not gonna do it with a rejection every single time. I’m not abandoning my children. They have betrayed me,” Kody responded defensively.

Robyn fired back, “But they’re kids!”to which Kody clarified, “No, they’re adults,” emphasizing the need for reciprocal relationships in his family.

    Robyn Called Out Kody’s Parenting

Refusing to let her husband get away with excuses, the mother-of-five drew from her own experience with an absent father to emphasize the importance of being a present figure for their large family.

“I’m having a hard time not losing respect for you a little bit,” she confessed, clearly frustrated with Kody’s approach to parenting. In her confessional, she elaborated, saying:

“If I were him, I would be calling, emailing, texting, maybe showing up, flying out there, you know, whatever.

Kody’s further dismissal did not sit well with Robyn, who insisted he needed to take a more proactive stance. Her reasons seemed to wear him down seeing as Kody begrudgingly agreed to try “a little bit.”

The Family’s Patriarch Faced More Backlash From Janelle

In another part of the segment, Kody’s former partner, Janelle, also voiced her deep concerns about his fraught connections with not only his children but also his grandchildren.

The mother-of-six highlighted the 55-year-old’s noticeable absence from the lives of her daughter Madison’s three kids—Axel, Evie, and Josephine. While Janelle expressed disappointment, Kody pushed back against the criticism.

The reality TV star insisted, “It’s an unrealistic expectation for grandparents to be in their grandchildren’s lives all the time.” He added that another reason he could not be present was because Madison’s family resided far away in North Carolina.

The growing friction within the Brown family dynamic also cast a shadow over Robyn’s daughters, Aurora and Breanna. Last month, The Blast reported that the sisters openly expressed their feelings of isolation since becoming part of the plural marriage.

Aurora revealed, “I have been told directly, inmultiple circumstances, by multiple different people that I was not accepted, that I was not their sister, that they didn’t consider or see me that way.”

Breanna chimed in, reflecting on the family’s struggles, saying, “The parents could have done a better job with connecting us as a family, and it never really happened.”

Robyn attempted to clarify the situation, asserting that her daughters were not seeking to cut ties but rather to establish healthy boundaries. “It was never anything about, ‘We don’t want to see you again,'” she emphasized.

However, it did not stop the 45-year-old from addressing the emotional strain within her relationship with Kody. Robyn did not hold back her thought, admitting, “We’re probably doing the worst we’ve ever done in our marriage. It’s been tough. It’s been tough between us.”

Reflecting on the gravity of the situation, Kody confirmed that their relationship was indeed in a “struggling place.”

As tensions mount, it is clear that the impact of the Browns family dynamics extends beyond the adults and is also affecting the younger generation.

There’s A Good Reason Sam Mendes Won’t Make Another James Bond Movie – SlashFilm

There’s A Good Reason Sam Mendes Won’t Make Another James Bond Movie – SlashFilm

Bond fever is gripping the globe and all eyes are turned towards the most headline-grabbing aspect of the next installment in the long-running property. What, do you think all the frenzied speculation begins and ends with the newest leading man who’ll eventually try on that impeccably-tailored suit? Ha! In my eye, what’s just as crucial to the future of this series is the filmmaker who’ll take a seat in the director’s chair and try to improve on Daniel Craig’s widely celebrated run as James Bond. In the three years (and counting) since “No Time to Die” brought that iteration to a very definitive end — and it doesn’t get any more definitive than killing off the title character for the first time in franchise history — all the most obvious names have been bandied back and forth. While I wouldn’t put much stock into the notion of Christopher Nolan making the most unimaginative directing choice in history (although he seems amenable to the idea), we can at least cross one notable name off the list.

Sam Mendes has taken on two of the biggest Bond movies ever in 2012’s “Skyfall” and “Spectre” in 2015, but maybe don’t get your hopes up for him to make a grand return and add a third one to the ledger. “Skyfall” might be one of the most well-received and well-made movies in the entire franchise, but the troubled sequel ended up garnering a much chillier reception. At the time, Mendes was resolute that it would be his last time directing a Bond movie and, well, he’s sticking by those words nearly a decade later.

To Mendes, studios these days want more ‘controllable’ directors

Sam Mendes is currently an executive producer on the new HBO series “The Franchise” and, in a recent interview with Inverse (via Variety), the extremely accomplished director opened up about his thoughts on the James Bond movies and whether he could see himself returning to the fold. While not ruling out the possibility entirely, he certainly poured quite a lot of cold water on how realistic that might actually be. As he tactfully explained:

“Never say never, to quote the man, but I would doubt it. It was very good for me at that moment in my life. I felt like it shot me out of some old habits. It made me think on a bigger scale. It made me use different parts of my brain. You have to have a lot of energy.”

Now that’s putting it mildly. After all, we’re talking about the same franchise that once inspired an exhausted Daniel Craig to make a sarcastic, off-the-cuff comment about how he’d rather commit some serious self-harm than film another Bond movie again. (Craig later walked back those remarks, of course.) But while speaking more generally about the state of big-budget studio movies at large, Mendes pinpointed one painfully apparent reason why he could never play in that sandbox again. He went on to explain:

“They don’t want people who have a big track record. They want slightly more malleable people who are earlier in their career, who perhaps are going to use it as a stepping stone, and who are more controllable by the studio.”

That’s a pretty damning (yet awfully accurate) statement. We’ve seen this again and again with Marvel movies in particular, but it’s a slippery slope that extends to the vast majority of IPs these days, too. It’s not a stretch to see how this could apply to the ever-protective Broccoli family and their tendency to micro-manage each film. For now, we remain in a holding pattern — both for the new Bond actor and the director who’ll accompany them.

Coronation Street: As Lisa dashes off from Carla following vulnerable moment, here’s what happens next

Coronation Street: As Lisa dashes off from Carla following vulnerable moment, here’s what happens next

Tonight’s episode of Coronation Street (Monday, October 7), saw DS Lisa Swain and Carla Connor share a spark with each other in Carla’s flat.

Following an eventful day, Lisa turned up at the flat to check on Carla and soon shared a tender moment with her.

But, after Lisa abruptly dashed off from the factory owner, here’s everything we know about what happens next!

The moment became too much for Lisa (Credit: ITV)

Coronation Street: Carla and Lisa’s heartfelt moment

This evening on the cobbles, Carla headed to court for her plea hearing, with the dad of the lad she knocked over – Tom, confronting her.

Whilst Carla was let off rather lightly, she returned back to the factory and was later cornered by Tom whilst in her office alone.

Fortunately, Lisa turned up just at the right moment and had Tom arrested.

Once Carla had given a statement to Lisa’s colleagues, she returned back to her flat. Lisa then arrived to check in on Carla, wanting to make sure that she was okay.

With Lisa also just finding out that Joel had been threatening Betsy, she sat down to share a bottle of red with Carla during a vulnerable moment. She admitted that she sometimes thought about being killed on the job and whether that would really be such a bad thing.

Carla also confided in Lisa about her feelings regarding her divorce to Peter, interested to know if Lisa had ever dated someone after Becky’s death. She hadn’t.

As Lisa got up to leave, Carla then gently held Lisa’s face and gazed into her eyes. As she brushed her hair behind her ear, sparks were definitely flying.

The moment then caused Lisa to quickly flee from the flat, with Carla calling for her to come back…

Will they both face up to their feelings? (Credit: ITV)

Coronation Street: What’s next for Swarla?

It’s clear to many viewers that Lisa and Carla have chemistry, with Carla feeling electricity between herself and the Weatherfield detective tonight.

However, with Carla newly divorced from Peter, and with Lisa still grieving Becky and having all of this Betsy drama to deal with, things won’t be plain-sailing.

Carla’s bound to be feeling confused over what she experienced with Lisa tonight, only having previously expressed feelings for men in the past.

In scenes to come on Wednesday (October 9), Carla admits to Lisa that they need to talk. But, will she open up to Lisa about how she feels or put the moment to one side so as to not make Lisa feel uncomfortable?

Despite Lisa dashing off tonight, something tells us that there’s much more to come for Swarla!

What’s Happening at OpenAI? A Wave of Key Departures Sparks Concern

          0
What’s Happening at OpenAI? A Wave of Key Departures Sparks Concern

Recently, OpenAI announced another wave of key management departures, including Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati, Chief Research Officer Bob McGrew, and Head of Post-Training Barret Zoph. These exits have intensified speculation about the future of one of the world’s most influential AI companies under Sam Altman’s leadership.

These departures follow earlier exits by key figures such as Ilya Sutskever and Jan Leike from the Alignment and Security team, Policy Research Head Gretchen Krueger, Security experts Daniel Kokotajlo and William Saunders, ChatGPT Architect John Schulman, and company co-founder and president Greg Brockman. While some have left to pursue their own initiatives or joined competitors like Anthropic, others have yet to announce their next steps. Leaving OpenAI, a company of such stature, seems to open doors effortlessly for many.

          Internal Tensions Behind the Departures

The steady stream of senior leaders exiting OpenAI points to a mix of internal and external pressures. As the company continues to expand, it’s grappling with tensions, especially as it shifts from its non-profit research roots to a more commercial focus. This shift toward revenue generation has created friction between leaders advocating for ethical AI development and those driving faster growth and profitability.

Key figures, including co-founder Ilya Sutskever and security expert Jan Leike, left over concerns that OpenAI was prioritizing flashy, marketable products over crucial security research, especially regarding the development of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

          Financial Strain Adds Pressure

In addition to internal discord, OpenAI is facing significant financial strain. Despite generating substantial revenue, its costs far exceed its earnings, prompting talks of new investment rounds and further commercialization. This drive for short-term financial gain is a core reason for the departure of influential figures like Mira Murati and John Schulman, as it clashed with their focus on ethical AI progress.

          Leadership Struggles at OpenAI

The latest executive departures highlight ongoing leadership challenges, particularly following CEO Sam Altman’s brief ouster earlier this year, which destabilized the company. These ongoing exits create uncertainty for OpenAI, which is now facing challenges in maintaining leadership continuity, retaining talent, and managing the rapid pace of innovation in AI.

Losing pivotal figures like Schulman and Murati could severely impact OpenAI’s ability to sustain its current trajectory. Both played essential roles in creating core technologies like reinforcement learning and ChatGPT. As the company navigates this period of transition, employee morale may also take a hit, as confidence in OpenAI’s long-term stability and vision becomes shakier.

Ethics vs. Profit: The Internal Debate

OpenAI has long positioned itself as a leader in the responsible development of AI. However, the departures of experts like Sutskever and Leike raise concerns about the company’s focus. Their exits reflect growing tension between prioritizing ethical research and pursuing aggressive commercialization.

Former executives have openly criticized OpenAI for prioritizing profit over security, which could damage the company’s reputation for ethical AI development. OpenAI may face heightened public scrutiny and even regulatory challenges if this perception grows. Furthermore, losing trust in the research community could limit future partnerships with organizations prioritizing safe AI advancement.

          The Shift Toward Commercialization

OpenAI’s pivot to a commercial, for-profit business model has led to internal and external friction. As the company seeks new funding and aims to push its valuation as high as $150 billion, it faces the delicate challenge of balancing profitability with responsible AI development. This ongoing conflict is made even more complex by competitors like Anthropic—founded by former OpenAI employees—who are attracting top talent and positioning themselves as more security-conscious alternatives.

Financial Struggles Pose a Long-Term Risk

Despite its commercial success and growing user base, OpenAI’s financial model is problematic. With annual costs nearing $7 billion, the company is spending far more than it earns, which adds pressure to commercialize its technology quickly. This urgency could lead to rushed decisions prioritizing short-term profits at the expense of long-term innovation and security.

OpenAI’s financial difficulties could also hurt its ability to attract and retain top talent. If its financial future remains uncertain, employees may become wary, especially as the value of their stock options might be at risk.

          Challenges to Sam Altman’s Leadership

CEO Sam Altman’s leadership is now under scrutiny. His brief removal earlier this year created divisions within the company, and the continued exodus of senior management could raise further doubts about his ability to steer OpenAI through these turbulent times. If concerns about OpenAI’s ethical practices and financial health continue to grow, Altman may face increased pressure from the board and influential investors.

          OpenAI’s Uncertain Future

OpenAI revolutionized the AI industry with the release of DALL-E and ChatGPT in 2022, and it still has the potential to shape the future of AI. However, its ability depends on maintaining stability, strong leadership, and a balanced approach between innovation and ethical practices. If the company fails to navigate these challenges, it risks more than just financial losses—the geopolitical implications could be significant.

The coming months will be critical for OpenAI as it seeks to stabilize and reassert itself as a leader in the AI space.

          Turbo Boost Racing Switch Review

          0
          Turbo Boost Racing Switch Review

I thought, when I requested Turbo Boost Racing on Press Engine, that it’d be a bad review. Fortunately, this is a decent racer. Not the upper echelon, but good, solid fun. The name comes from the nitrous oxide meter, which gives you a major boost as long as it lasts. The initial boost meter is generous, but it can be upgrades through the garage. And it will be key to winning against the rubber banding AI. A good strategy is to save it then boost past to competition at the end of the race.

The main mode in Turbo Boost Racing is the tournament, a series of races, time trials and elimination rounds. The races take place on several courses. Most are dusty industrial zones, but not all. There are three upgradable boost slots, that you can fill with things like doubling your money won, or faster speed for first ten seconds. The only downside is you cannot access the garage and upgrade your car, which helps immensely. In addition to the tournament, There is also single race, time trial, and hot seat local multiplayer. There are also daily missions for various rewards. A car dealer will also you other cars to drive, but the base one is decent enough.

Turbo Boost Racing is a fine racer. I found it fun. The UI could use some work, as it reminds me of scam games, which isn’t a good thing. But fortunately the game is solid. I give it a Recommended with a eight back-end score. Check it out if you’re looking for a decent arcade racer.

Overall: Turbo Boost Racing is simply a solid, fun racer that people will enjoy.

Bitfinex Alpha: Bitcoin Experiences Healthy Pullback, But Outlook Remains Uncertain

Bitfinex Alpha: Bitcoin Experiences Healthy Pullback, But Outlook Remains Uncertain

          In Brief

Bitfinex Alpha reported that Bitcoin’s 10% retracement during the week was driven by spot selling and unwinding of leveraged positions.

Bitfinex Alpha: Bitcoin Experiences Healthy Pullback, But Outlook Remains Uncertain

The digital asset trading platform Bitfinex Alpha released its latest market analysis report, offering insights into the current state of Bitcoin.

The firm observed that Bitcoin experienced a 10% retracement during the week, primarily driven by aggressive spot selling and a broader market unwinding of leveraged positions. After reaching a local high of $66,587 on September 27th, its price declined sharply, particularly after losing the critical support level of $65,200, which triggered cascading long liquidations and caused the price to drop to $60,000.

Additionally, spot market selling was further impacted by escalating geopolitical tensions between Iran and Israel, which heightened de-risking efforts and contributed to long liquidations totaling $450 million on October 1st. As Bitcoin faced its first series of four consecutive red days since early August, the market underwent a necessary realignment. Open interest (OI) decreased from overheated levels above $35 billion to $31.8 billion, indicating a stabilization of market conditions and a reduced risk of sudden price fluctuations.

On October 4th, Bitcoin recovered to $62,500, buoyed by positive labor market data, and climbed to a peak of $64,027 during early trading sessions on October 7th as some spot buying activity returned. However, it may be premature to draw firm conclusions regarding the short-term direction of the market. As the market continues to react to various factors, insights into the future trajectory of Bitcoin and the broader market may emerge from trading positions observed in the early sessions of the week, especially within the US market.

US Labor Market Shows Resilience With Strong Job Gains, Boosting Market Sentiment

The firm highlighted that the labor market data, which contributed to the market’s positive sentiment, indicated that September saw its strongest job gains in six months, with the unemployment rate decreasing from 4.2 percent in August to 4.1 percent. This decline reflects the economy’s resilience.

However, despite the robustness in the labor market, other sectors have not yet experienced the benefits of eased monetary policy. The Federal Reserve is anticipated to lower interest rates again in November, yet the manufacturing sector continues to face challenges due to elevated rates and reduced demand compared to the previous year. In contrast, the US service sector experienced a sharp increase in new orders in September, achieving its highest activity level in 18 months. This growth suggests sustained economic strength throughout the third quarter of 2024, even as different sectors encounter varying degrees of pressure.

343 Industries rebrands itself while announcing Halo is moving to Unreal Engine 5 and its working on multiple games

          0
343 Industries rebrands itself while announcing Halo is moving to Unreal Engine 5 and its working on multiple games

In a very surprising announcement, Halo developer 343 Industries, which was founded to takeover the Halo franchise from Bungie, has announced that it is being rebranded.

Now going by Halo Studios, the company also made a couple of other announcements in an Xbox Wire post. From now on, all Halo projects will be made in Unreal Engine 5, shifting away from the proprietary Slipspace Engine that was used to create Halo Infinite.

The video shown is what Halo Studios refers to as Foundry, which is neither a new game nor a “traditional tech demo.” What’s shown is supposed to be  “a true reflection of what would be required for a new Halo game using Unreal, and a training tool for how to get there. Foundry has been made with the same rigor, process, and fidelity as a shipped game would be.”

“If you really break Halo down, there have been two very distinct chapters. Chapter 1 – Bungie. Chapter 2 – 343 Industries,” Studio Head Pierre Hintze said to Xbox Wire. “Now, I think we have an audience which is hungry for more. So we’re not just going to try improve the efficiency of development, but change the recipe of how we make Halo games. So, we start a new chapter today.”

The idea is that by switching over to the widely used Unreal Engine 5, Halo Studios will able to create games quicker and will be able to hire talented developers who don’t need to learn how Slipspace works.

“Respectfully, some components of Slipspace are almost 25 years old,” said Studio Art Director, Chris Matthews. “Although 343 were developing it continuously, there are aspects of Unreal that Epic has been developing for some time, which are unavailable to us in Slipspace – and would have taken huge amounts of time and resources to try and replicate.”

The Xbox Wire post frequently mentions multiple games being in the works, but details are thin on the ground. It does, however, mention that  “it’s fair to say that a new Halo game isn’t imminent.”

Hintze also stated that the team has been intentionally quiet, as he believes  “We should do more and say less.”

“We should talk about things when we have things to talk about, at scale,” Hinte said. “Today, it’s the first step – we’re showing Foundry because it feels right to do so – we want to explain our plans to Halo fans, and attract new, passionate developers to our team. The next step will be talking about the games themselves.”

The shift to Unreal Engine 5 is interesting because it will also theoritcally allow for easier porting. Given how Xbox is now willing to move some franchises over to the rival PlayStation, could this be another step toward some futurew in which Master Chief can be controlled with a Dualsense?

Ultimately though, all the graphical bells and whistles mean very little to a franchise that is built on its physics and game feel. Halo is beautiful, but its never been at the cutting edge of visuals. Hopefully, the newly named Halo Studios will remember this and keep their focus on the gameplay above all else.

Emmerdale: 6 theories on the cause of Leyla’s death following ‘exit’ reports

Reports circulated over the weekend that suggested that Emmerdale character Leyla Harding will soon be ‘killed off,’ as Roxy Shahidi bows out of the soap after sixteen years.

The Sun reported that Leyla will be ‘killed off in explosive scenes’ still to come.

Here are 6 huge theories on how Leyla could meet her maker…

            1. Tom to kill Leyla?

Viewers will know that Belle recently told the police about Tom’s abuse of her. Tom’s now desperate to hide the evidence of this on his tablet.

With Leyla working with Belle at Take a Vow, she’s bound to want to defend her colleague.

But, could she have a run in with Tom, with the altercation soon turning deadly? There’s no saying what Tom could do to save his own skin, but will this involve silencing Leyla?

            2. Meena return

If there’s one person that could easily finish Leyla off, then that’s Meena Jutla. She did previously shoot her and leave her life at risk, after all.

Meena’s currently in prison for multiple murders, but fans have been calling for her return for a while now.

Could a prison break be on the cards? Could Leyla lose her life during Meena vs Leyla round two?

Emmerdale Leyla death theory: 3. Super Soap Week stunt

Super Soap Week usually happens in October, and there’s usually a huge stunt involved.

In past years, much-loved characters have lost their lives during this week, with Liv Flaherty and Harriet Finch being just a couple of the names of this list.

But, this year, could Leyla fall victim to Super Soap Week? Is her death a matter of weeks away?

            4. Drug relapse

A couple of years ago, Leyla suffered a drug addiction as she started using cocaine.

This resulted in her marriage to Liam ending after her time in rehab.

But, could Leyla soon return back to her old habits and suffer a relapse? Could she lose her life to a drug overdose?

Emmerdale Leyla death theory: 5. Car accident

The village is no stranger to car accidents, experiencing a fair few in the last year alone.

Mack, Chloe and Charity suffered a cliff edge crash last year, with Heath losing his life in another car accident as the New Year struck.

And, this year, Ethan and Nicky were involved in a crash that left Nicky in a coma.

But, with villagers not having much luck as far as vehicles are concerned, could Leyla die in another crash?

            6. A freak accident

Let’s face it, this is soapland, and anything can happen! Whilst reports have suggested that Leyla’s exit will be ‘explosive,’ a freak and unfortunate accident could be around the corner for Leyla.

There are endless possibilities… could Moira hallucinate Emma Barton once more and injure Leyla by mistake? Could a run-away horse of Kim’s trample all over the wedding planner? What do you think?
