‘Augmented Intelligence’: Christie’s Reveals First Auction Dedicated to AI Art – Decrypt

Luxury auction giant Christie’s is set to host its first-ever sale comprised solely of artworks made with AI—a key art world stamp of approval for the novel and at-times controversial technology.

The auction, titled “Augmented Intelligence,” will be open for bidding and on view at Christie’s Manhattan gallery from February 20 to March 5. Per Christie’s, it is the first AI-dedicated sale ever put on by a major auction house.

The collection will feature over 20 AI-infused artworks from a variety of prominent digital artists known for exploring the relationship between automation and human creativity, including Pindar Van Arman, Harold Cohen, and Alexander Reben.

Several pioneers of on-chain art well known for their NFT pieces will also supply works for the auction, such as Refik Anadol, Holly Herndon & Mat Dryhurst, and Claire Silver

“The auction redefines the relationship between art and technology, showing collectors human agency in the age of AI in Fine Art,” Nicole Sales Giles, Christie’s head of digital art sales, said in a statement shared with Decrypt. “From robotics to GANs to interactive experiences, artists incorporate artificial intelligence into their practices in many unique ways.”

The pieces on auction will range in medium from sculpture and paintings to screens, interactive works, and digital-native NFTs.

Among the pieces expected to fetch the largest sum at auction is Pinar Van Arman’s “Emerging Faces,” a series of physical canvases painted by two AI agents that collaborated in 2017 to imagine human faces with generative AI and then paint them. The works are some of the first to have ever been painted autonomously by neural networks, and are anticipated to sell together in one lot for up to $250,000.

Other works on auction will come to life in real time. At Christie’s Rockefeller Center gallery, a large-scale robot guided by the coding of Alexander Reben will paint more and more of a fresh canvas as bids for the painting rise—allowing auction participants to take part in the work’s creation.

In recent years, both Christie’s and its archrival, Sotheby’s, have aggressively planted their flags in the emergent (and often lucrative) world of digital art. Both houses have hosted numerous crypto-centered auctions since 2021, when Christie’s sold an NFT by the artist Beeple for a record-shattering $69.3 million.

How to Clean Yourself in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

How to Clean Yourself in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Keeping Henry clean and his clothes clean plays a vital role in being charismatic in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The NPCs in KCD2 judge you on your appearance and smell so, if you smell bad or dirty, they will ignore you most of the time. It is essential to keep Henry and his clothes clean all the time to be charismatic so that you can pass the skill checks easily. In this guide, we will tell you how to clean yourself in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

How to Clean Yourself in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

There are two main ways through which you can clean yourself in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. These methods include washing yourself at a trough and taking a bath at a bathhouse. Both of these methods have their own characteristics and you can pursue each one accordingly.

Wash Yourself at the Trough in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Wash yourself at a trough to clean yourself in KCD2
Wash yourself at a trough to clean yourself in KCD2

Washing at the trough only removes the dirt and fresh blood stains from Henry and his clothes. Spending a lot of time in exploration or getting into a fight will make you both dirty and bloody, so before you head to any certain NPC with whom you have to pass a skill check, it is best to wash yourself at the trough first.

You can find the trough in almost every town and village across both regions in KCD2. The troughs are a wooden tub with water inside. Simply interact with it and Henry will wash himself and remove any possible stains.

Take a Bath at the Bathhouse in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Take a bath at the bathhouse to clean yourself in KCD2Take a bath at the bathhouse to clean yourself in KCD2
Take a bath at the bathhouse to clean yourself in KCD2

Now, if you stay dirty for a long time, you will begin to smell which cannot be removed by washing at the trough. In such a scenario, you will have to take a bath at the bathhouse. The bathhouses are usually located in major towns and villages across both the regions. To get the services of a bathhouse, you have to speak to either the owner of the bathhouse or the maid of the bathhouse.

There are various services that you can get at the bathhouse including taking a bath, fixing your wounds, taking a bath, washing clothes, and even having a pleasant time with the maid along with all the services. However, each service will cost accordingly and if you are going for the best service, then it will cost you more Groschen.

Out of both of these methods, taking a bath is more efficient as it will replenish your health, wash your clothes, and clean you completely. It will make you charismatic again and you can easily persuade NPCs.

That is all related to how to clean yourself in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Inside Richard E Grant’s family heartache – from ‘abyss of grief’ following wife’s death to ‘heartbreaking’ loss of baby girl

Inside Richard E Grant’s family heartache – from ‘abyss of grief’ following wife’s death to ‘heartbreaking’ loss of baby girl

Born Richard Grant Esterhuysen in Swaziland – now Eswatini – Richard E Grant is seen by many as among the most English of English actors.

From his impactful debut as the eponymous antagonist in the dark comedy Withnail and I (1987) to parts in the Star Wars, Game Of Thrones and A Series Of Unfortunate Events franchises, he has lived the career he dreamt of as a child.

His late wife Joan Washington died in 2021 following a battle with lung cancer. But she wasn’t the first member of his family to die from the disease.

As he appears on the panel of The Masked Singer tonight, here’s a round up of some of the key events that have shaped Richard E Grant over the years…

Born in Eswatini, Richard moved to London in 1982 in order to become an actor (Credit: Good Food/YouTube)

Richard E Grant met late wife Joan Washington in 1983

A year after moving to London with dreams of being an actor, Richard E Grant met the woman who would become his wife of 38 years.

His emigration came a year after his father’s death from lung cancer, a disease with which he would later become intimately familiar.

Born Joan Geddie in 1946, Washington moved from her hometown of Aberdeen, Scotland, to London at the age of 18. She graduated from the Central School of Speech and Drama and started working as a speech teacher at a reform school for girls.

She married Keith Washington in 1969. They had a son, Tom, together. She took his name. Then, following their divorce, and while working as a dialect coach at the Actors Center, she met Richard. That was January 1983.

Joan Washington and Richard E Grant married three years later and had two children together, Tiffany and Olivia. However, Tiffany lived for just half an hour, stillborn following a complicated pregnancy.

Richard writes “sparsely but heartbreakingly” about the fate of their firstborn daughter in his memoir, A Pocketful of Happiness.

Olivia, their second child, was born via C-section, weighing just four pounds. Richard once said he’s glad he has a daughter because his wife made a better role model than him.

On his wife’s final challenge to him

Joan Washington was diagnosed with stage four terminal lung cancer in 2020. On September 2, 2021, she died at the age of 74.

From the moment of her diagnosis, Richard said he was “determined to make the very best of the time that we had left together”, he told Thought Economics in 2023.

Doctors told them she’d live 12 to 18 months. She took a “new American drug,” he said, which was supposed to keep her alive for longer.

It “stopped working after three months,” which, however sad, left them with enough time to “say everything we wanted to, to one another”.

Four days before she died, she challenged Richard and Olivia – their daughter – to find a pocketful of happiness in each day. He describes it as a mantra by which he has navigated the “abyss of grief”.

Richard E Grant believes secrets are toxic

The best way to deal with death, he has said, is to be “transparent and open” about it. Why? Because “secrets are toxic”.

When asked by The Guardian about how Joan might feel about his book, Richard replied that he didn’t know.

“But I absolutely 100% believe that secrets are toxic, and I’ve seen so many people turned upside down because of some family secret, and she knew that about me.”

Since her passing, some of his friends have started trying to fix him up with what The Guardian describes as “eligible women”, but he finds it “absolutely bizarre”.

Richard E Grant smiling and gesturing during a recording of the Dish podcast

Since his wife’s passing, Richard has spoken candidly about the grieving process and its effects on him (Credit: Dish Podcast/YouTube)

“It’s not something I could even conceive of at this point. It’s still too raw and present, and I am still having an ongoing conversation with my wife in my head.”

Talking about her with his friends keeps her spirit alive, he added. And, after 38 years together, he knows what her reaction would have been to “anything I’m experiencing without her”.

The Masked Singer is on ITV1 tonight (February 8) at 7pm.

Chelsea Handler Roasts Justin Baldoni And Blake Lively’s Legal Feud

Chelsea Handler’s remarks alluded to the ongoing legal battle that began in December, when “Gossip Girl” alum Blake Lively accused Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and emotional distress during the filming of “It Ends With Us,” prompting Baldoni to countersue Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for defamation.

The comedian framed their bitter feud as an unexpected silver lining amid President Donald Trump’s second term, joking that it’s provided a much-needed break from the daily news cycle.

“Waking up every day, not knowing what news we are going to hear that will disappoint or horrify us. So, it’s important, in times like these, to have a distraction. And that’s why I want to personally extend my gratitude to Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively,” Handler quipped, adding:

“Thank you for providing us with that distraction. I’m grateful. I think we’re all grateful, and I think we’re good. I think everybody in this room, no matter whose side you’re on, we can all agree to accept that there’s probably not going to be a sequel.”

The ongoing dispute has captivated Hollywood, drawing sharp divisions among fans and industry insiders.

“If this case continues to be litigated in the press, I will move up the trial date,” Liman stated, emphasizing the need for legal proceedings to take place in the courtroom rather than the media.

To prevent further media influence on the case, Liman ordered both parties to follow the New York Rules of Professional Conduct, which prohibits lawyers from making public statements that could bias a jury. Despite accusations from Lively’s team that Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, has made “extrajudicial statements” that come close to defamation, the judge has stopped short of issuing formal sanctions.

Baldoni and Lively weren’t the only targets of Handler’s sharp wit. Later in her speech, she poked fun at Ariana Grande’s relationship with her “Wicked” co-star Ethan Slater, making a reference to his Broadway past.

“It is so nice to see some of our most beloved child stars all grown up and thriving. Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and Ariana Grande are all nominated tonight. And now Ariana has even found love with a munchkin,” Handler joked, referencing Slater’s role in “Wicked.”

The joke, however, didn’t seem to land as expected, with the audience offering only mild laughter. Noticing the lukewarm reaction, Handler reassured the crowd, saying, “That’s good news, everybody.”

According to PEOPLE, the cameras panned to Grande and Slater, who looked “less than amused” by the remark.

Grande and Slater’s relationship has faced ongoing scrutiny ever since they were first linked in 2023.

The backlash stemmed largely from the timing of their romance, as Slater had recently divorced his wife, leading many fans to question the circumstances of their relationship.

In an October 2024 interview with GQ, Slater admitted that dealing with the public criticism has been challenging. “So just to address that part of it, that feels really hard,” he said at the time.

Meanwhile, Grande has been vocal in defending her boyfriend from the negative attention. In September 2024, the “Honeymoon Avenue” singer gushed about Slater, insisting that “no one on this earth has a better heart.”

“And that is something that no bullsh-t tabloid can rewrite in real life,” she added.

Chelsea Handler has never been one to shy away from controversy, and her Critics Choice Awards monologue was no exception. From legal feuds to relationship drama, she made sure to leave no Hollywood scandal untouched.

      Chained Heroes Switch Review

      Chained Heroes Switch Review

I guess the best way to start this Chained Heroes review is to show a video of the game play then explain what the hell you just watched.

Chained Heroes is a traversal game where you jump and climb your way upwards through the levels. I reviewed quite a few of these, none of them good. This is another trash one. The main draw is the multiplayer mode, but I don’t have a friend to play with(they’d kill me if I forced them to play this) so I did single player. First you pick your ugly player skin. Then you chose multiplayer or single player. The game counts down from 5 to 1, and a loading screen appears. After a minute, you pop in the level. X button is jump. Right stick is change camera. As you can see in the video above, if you attempt to change the camera, the game bugs out and you’ll probably die if you attempt to do anything. Back to the main menu you go.

Get ready for a lot of this.

Chained Heroes is by Demenci Games, aka CHETRUSCA SOFTWORKS SRL. Their game Mortal Street Fighter got banned off Steam for an unknown reason(probably copyright infringement):

I wish Chained Heroes and games like it could get banned off of the eShop, it’d make my life a lot easier. I hope with the upcoming Switch 2, Nintendo makes huge changes, but I’m not holding my breath. I took a month off from the site, but I’m back, and my work is as important then ever because the flood won’t stop. The Slush Pile remains and so I’ll be deep in it, giving Chained Heroes a Garbage verdict with a one back-end score.

Overview: Chained Heroes is trash of the highest order. Basically completely unplayable and a total scam. The gods order you to avoid this!

      Verdict: Garbage

Avatar is one of the new collaborations coming to Fortnite soon. This partnership was added with the v33.00 update on January 31, but Epic Games hasn’t released it yet. On Friday night, Avatar skins were leaked, which indicates that its release date is around the corner. Besides skins, leakers also revealed a couple of other cosmetics coming with the collab.

Thanks to the leak, we now know what the skins look like. However, let’s also take a look at their potential release date, estimated price, and the other cosmetics.

When will the Fortnite x Avatar collaboration come out?

The latest Fortnite update added numerous cosmetic items, yet some of them haven’t been released yet. The second wave of Jujutsu Kaisen arrived on Friday night, but we are still waiting for Avatar and the new Iron Man skin. The good news is that Avatar skins should come out soon. Since they were added with the last update, they will likely come out within the next 10 days.

The price hasn’t been leaked either, although the skins will probably be at least 1,500 V-Bucks. As the leak shows, two new Fortnite skins will come with the Avatar collaboration, and they will have several matching cosmetics.

As seen above, the collaboration will introduce a new emote, two pickaxes, and two gliders. The skins might also include back blings, though they haven’t been revealed yet. All these cosmetics will likely be available in a bundle, expected to cost around 3,000 V-Bucks.

      🎮 Must-Listen: Publishing Manor Lords w/ Joe Robinson 🎙️

Since Fortnite Chapter 6 – Season 1 wraps up on February 21, we anticipate the collaboration will be released soon. However, there’s a slight possibility that Epic could delay it until the next season, though that seems unlikely.

Batman Fought Dracula In Two Movies You’ll Probably Never See – SlashFilm

Batman Fought Dracula In Two Movies You’ll Probably Never See – SlashFilm

Who’s your favorite Batman villain? Most will say the Joker, some might say Catwoman or Bane, but there’s options galore. Did you know, though, that within Batman’s expansive rogues gallery also lies the original Bat-man? Yes, Count Dracula has appeared in three Batman movies — but you can only watch one of them.

This isn’t as out-there a pairing as it looks. Batman mostly fights other freaks in costumes — from clowns to cats, to scarecrows, to rejected quiz show hosts — but some of the Dark Knight’s nemeses are downright supernatural. Take Ra’s al Ghul, the Demon’s Head, who has stayed young and fit for 700 years with the help of the magical Lazarus Pit, a functional Fountain of Youth.

A handful of Batman comics — Peter Milligan’s “Dark Knight, Dark City,” Grant Morrison’s “Batman” epic, and Ram V’s “Detective Comics” — have presented Gotham City as a poisoned chalice, literally haunted by the bat demon Barbatos. Barbatos is a foe Batman can only battle by stemming the darkness in himself and inspiring hope throughout Gotham.

In the spooky story “Sanctum” (published in “Legends of the Dark Knight” #54), Batman falls through a grave and meets some of Gotham’s ghosts. Writer/artist Mike Mignola considers “Sanctum” pivotal to his later creation of Hellboy, and in 2000 he returned to put Batman in a story right out of Lovecraft: “The Doom That Came To Gotham.” Some of Batman’s inhuman foes include vampires, too. “Batman: Caped Crusader’ featured an episode where the villain was the teenage vampiress Nocturna. As for the Lord of Vampires himself, he and the Dark Knight met in 1992 comic “Batman and Dracula: Red Rain” by Doug Moench and Kelley Jones.

Decades before that comic, though, two very different filmmakers set Dracula against the Batman: Andy Warhol and Filipino director Leody M. Diaz.

Andy Warhol made a lost Batman vs Dracula movie

The 1960s was a high point of Bat-mania, thanks to the “Batman” television series starring Adam West and Burt Ward. That hype propelled “Batman” to the movies, and Warner Bros. even floated a Batman and Godzilla crossover movie. Somehow, Warner Bros. did not think to pair Batman up with Dracula, a much more natural fit, so fans had to fill in.

Andy Warhol, one of the 1960s’ defining pop artists, was reportedly a fan of Batman. This isn’t surprising; 60s superhero comics perfectly fit into the pop art aesthetic, especially the sometimes surreal tales of Batman and Superman. In 1964, Warhol screened his film “Batman Dracula,” a silent black-and-white film about the two title characters (both played by actor Jack Smith) chasing and clashing with each other. Since it was unauthorized by DC Comics, “Batman Dracula” was never widely released, but fragments of the movie have made it onto the internet.

No such luck for the other Batman/Dracula movie, which is considered outright lost (at least for now). “Batman Fights Dracula” was a 1967 film released and distributed in the Philippines. Batman’s (Jing Abalos) foe Dr. Zorba (Ramon d’Salva) resurrects Count Dracula (Dante Rivero) to vanquish his foe. Instead, Batman’s commitment to justice wins over Dracula. Like Warhol’s movie, this film was an unauthorized adaptation and no footage is known to have survived. However, some stills and posters from “Batman Fights Dracula” have been recovered.

Two completely independent filmmakers stumbling onto the same idea, only three years apart, is a testament to a strong premise. So, in 2005, DC finally greenlit an official Batman vs. Dracula movie.

There is an animated Batman vs. Dracula movie you can watch

“The Batman vs. Dracula” is set within the concurrent Batman cartoon, 2004’s “The Batman.” The movie premiered between the cartoon’s second and third seasons, using the same character designs and voice cast, plus guest stars Peter Stormare as the Count and Tara Strong as Vicki Vale. In some ways “The Batman vs. Dracula” is an extended episode, but it is structured as a standalone feature. You only need knowledge of Batman, not “The Batman,” to enjoy it. It’s also much more violent than the cartoon itself, with onscreen blood and horror movie imagery. (You can’t do Dracula justice at TV-Y7.)

The movie’s set-up is this: After Dracula was vanquished back in Transylvania decades prior, his slayers shipped his body across the sea to Gotham. Dracula lay dormant for years, until Penguin (chasing a buried treasure map) stumbles upon his tomb and accidentally revives him. The revived Dracula hypnotizes Penguin into his servant, a la Renfield in the original novel, and pursues Vicki the same way he once did Mina Harker. (Dracula later turns the Joker into a vampire, so I guess that makes him Lucy?)

With the real Van Helsing presumably long dead, Batman must step up to defeat Gotham’s new menace. The movie contrasts Batman and Dracula, with the vampire lord himself seeing Batman as his self-appointed heir. “Don’t flatter yourself,” Batman responds, but Dracula counters, “We cast kindred shadows.” Even their character designs mirror each other. Dracula’s cape falls around his shoulders and conceals him, but when he extends his arms the cape takes on the appearance of wings, the same way Batman’s cape does. The two both dress in black, but Dracula’s cape has red highlights, contrasting the blue tones of Batman’s costume. Unlike Batman, though, Dracula can literally fly, disappear into shadows, and become a bat. To defeat him, Bruce Wayne might have to step out of the darkness.

It’s not the greatest Batman movie, obviously, but “The Batman vs. Dracula” lives up to its title as a romp that’s both action-packed and plenty spooky.

“The Batman vs. Dracula” is available to purchase and rent on numerous digital platforms, including Prime Video.

Let’s get on with those reviews, headlined by Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which brings all its immersive sim-like RPG action back for another medieval sojourn.

Beyond the reviews, the release of Spider-Man 2 for PC wasn’t all that smooth last week, so we dug in to see what all the fuss was about and how the game plays on our computers – spoiler alert: we found it nice and playable with 60fps in sight.

I also previewed Season 24 and the sixth year of Apex Legends, where Respawn are doing the one thing everyone always asks for and are buffing the heck out of everything.

Rounding out the week, What We Played featured Citizen Sleeper 2, KCD 2 and Immortals: Rise of Fenyx.

TSBonyman popped his head into the comments to regale us with tales of No Man’s Sky’s Worlds 2 update, which has done wonderful stuff for the landscape variety and underwater – “I’ve explored my first gas giant and experienced storms that lifted me quite literally and threw me around like a kite.”

That’s the round up for this week. Hope you have a great weekend ahead!
