Cats and Seek: Dino Park Review  | TheXboxHub

A Roaring Good Time or a Prehistoric Plod?

Cosy games have exploded over the years, as gamer tastes change, dropping the all-action, high octane shooters and racers for more relaxing affairs; games that they can wind down with across the course of an evening or two.

Personal cosy tastes will dictate the game of choice there, but for me, I’ve found some serious love with the Hidden Cats series of games. In fact, they’ve been my go-to in times of need, bringing down stress levels, taking in care-free gaming.

Cats and Seek Dino Park Review 1
Can you find the cats in the Dino Park?

A New Breed of Cosy

That Hidden Cats franchise has seen Silesia Games take us around the globe too, from London to Paris, to Berlin, Rome, New York and more. But it’s another Silesia series that has occasionally popped up as a viable alternative, playing on the same feline finding vibes, just with a slightly different take.

That series is the Cats and Seek one. A series that has taken us to Osaka previously, and now provides a ticket to the Dino Park.

Feline Fun in a Prehistoric Playground

Cats and Seek: Dino Park is about as cosy as you can get. But if you’re looking for it, it also brings in some timed speedrunning for good measure. To add a ticking time bomb to the basic fundamentals of such a game isn’t something we particularly wanted, not expected. Spoiler alert: It’ll come as no surprise then that we don’t care too much for that side of things. Thankfully, we have still found some huge enjoyment with hunting down some little kitty cats again; doing so in our own sweet time. Even if this one is over in a mere hour.

There’s not too much content included in Cats and Seek Dino Park, leaving you with the chance to head into five Dino Park scenes, clicking on no less than 100 hidden cats in each. It’s very much standard cat hunting fare too, with each little meow and click colouring in a fluffball, every single one of them hidden away in the intricately detailed scene.

Switch up the colours if you want

Zooming and Listening

Navigation of each level is a cinch, with thumbstick and triggers aiding movement across each picturesque play field, zooming as far out as you like, or as close in as needed along the way. With the sound turned up to eleven, listening out for the cries from cleverly hidden cats is the name of the game. In fact, when you have just a few left over, that audio comes into its own.

Prehistoric Playgrounds

The Dino Park theme is one that works well here with scenarios complete with a ton of theme park vibes. Of course, you’ll care little for any of it really, mostly intent on searching out the little kitties, zoning out on anything not cat based. But there’s no doubt, the five scenes created look the part.

Each also has a few birds or bees to tick off as well, whilst a time-restricted hint system will allow you to navigate to the last few cats should the need arise. Across everything that the Dino Park has to offer though, we only called on it once, the other 499 cats found without too much trouble. It means that Cats and Seek: Dino Park never ever crosses the line from cosy to frustrating.

Special Cats and Speedruns

What’s also a nice little addition, at least in the early stages, is that every single cat, when found, has a brief little bit of backstory to it. We can’t sit here and tell you that we didn’t get bored of these after the first few, but if you do need some more reasoning for your cat clicking, it’s there. Fifteen ‘special’ cats are also included in the game, each with their own section on the main menu; uncovering the likes of Catnip Crook, Sir Purrington III, Captain Whiskerbeard and more is fun. But again, it’s not something that adds too much to the game.

Similar goes for those timed speed runs if you want, and need them, as well as the chance to go switching up colour palettes; personally, that’s not something we can get our claws into.

Cats have multiple lives…

A Purr-fectly Pleasant Hidden Object Game for Cat Lovers

We reached the end of Cats and Seek: Dino Park without any fuss, and enjoyed the brief time spent with it. Well put together, if you’re a fan of cosy gaming, hidden object hunting, or cats in general, it’ll be well worth your time taking a trip to the Dino Park.

Dino Park is another good addition to the genre, even if the Cats and Seek series still plays second fiddle to the more accomplished Hidden Cats franchise.

Crypto.com CRO faces backlash amid 70 billion burned token restore, 87% early voters say ‘no’

Crypto.com CRO faces backlash amid 70 billion burned token restore, 87% early voters say ‘no’

Cronos, the Layer 1 blockchain linked to Crypto.com, faces strong opposition over a proposal to restore 70 billion CRO tokens burned in 2021.

Early voting results on Mintscan show that 87% of participants have rejected the plan.

Cronos’ strategic reserve proposal

The proposal states reinstating the burned tokens will create a Cronos Strategic Reserve.

Crypto.com’s CEO Kris Marszalek said:

“Cronos allocates a $5 billion stockpile to make America the World Capital of Crypto.”

Cronos developers argue that this aligns with Cronos’ long-term vision and supports its growth strategy. If approved, the total supply of CRO would return to 100 billion, with the tokens held in an escrow wallet.

The reserve would be subject to strict control measures, including a new five-year lockup period. This would extend the vesting timeline to 10 years, incorporating a linear vesting mechanism that distributes monthly tokens via the Cosmos SDK on Cronos POS Chain.

Additionally, adjustments to CRO emission parameters would ensure validator rewards remain unchanged despite the increase in circulating supply.

The voting process is scheduled between March 3 and March 17, 2025, with implementation expected to follow shortly after.

Meanwhile, Cronos’ move is part of its broader strategy to position itself as the leading blockchain for AI-driven applications. The project also aims to secure a spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) listing and plans to launch a stablecoin in Q3 2025, followed by an ETF application submission in Q4.

Community pushback

Despite Cronos’ strategic goals, the proposal has sparked controversy.

Mintscan data shows that more than 500 million CRO tokens have been used in the vote, with 490 million—87%—opposing the move. Only 4%, or around 25.5 million CROs, have supported it.

The backlash has been evident across social media, where Wyll Bilderberg, a CRO advocate, said:

“A burn is a burn, burnt tokens shouldn’t be brought back to life. I’m almost never against anything happening on Cronos, but today, I’m against it, big time! If this pass, it’s will just be a confirmation that Cronos is heavily centralized, and so can’t be trusted.”

However, the proposal has unexpectedly impacted CRO’s market performance. According to CryptoSlate data, the token surged 15% during the reporting period, reaching $0.08434 as of press time.

Ex-Football Star Ronaldinho’s Token Dips 18% on Debut Amid Insider Trading Allegations – Decrypt

Ex-Football Star Ronaldinho’s Token Dips 18% on Debut Amid Insider Trading Allegations – Decrypt

Football legend Ronaldinho Gaúcho’s new official token debuted to a rocky start Sunday, amid concerns around “early snipers” and a “serious security risk.”

Launched Sunday exclusively on the BNB chain, Ronaldinho Coin (STAR10) made its debut to fanfare, promising the footballer’s massive global following access to “exclusive experiences, real benefits, signed collectibles, and an AI Agent.”

The enthusiasm quickly soured, as the retired footballer’s token saw significant volatility on its launch, dropping by over 25% from its peak at $0.387 to its current price of $0.289, per data from CoinGecko.

Its rocky launch trajectory mirrors that of other high profile tokens, such as the Argentine President Javier Milei-endorsed LIBRA token.

The token’s distribution allocates 20% of the total supply to Ronaldinho—significantly higher than typical allocations in most crypto projects. For most projects, the founder’s share generally hovers around 5-10%.

One blockchain analytics firm, Onchainlens, flagged  that one wallet profited nearly $5 million after spending just $29,247 to buy tokens, while crypto copy-trading platform lmk.fun highlighted that the token launch was “filled with ‘early snipers’.”

GoPlus Security, a Web3 security platform, tweeted a security alert after discovering a critical vulnerability, revealing that STAR10’s owner could burn any holder’s tokens at will since ownership had not been renounced.

The alert led to Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (“CZ”), warning traders to “Please beware!”

Ronaldinho responded to CZ’s tweet, saying that, “Ownership was not renounced? Now it is! Tokens cannot be destroyed without warning,” which was subsequently confirmed by GoPlus.

Ronaldinho’s crypto history

Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho has been linked to a number of crypto ventures.

The footballer launched his first token, RON, on the P00LS platform in 2022, but the project failed to generate significant traction. That same year, he promoted the World Cup Inu token—a meme coin launched ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Like many celebrity-backed crypto projects, the token saw an initial surge in value, followed by a dramatic crash.

In 2023, he appeared in court to deny any involvement in the “18kRonaldinho” crypto pyramid scheme, claiming that his likeness had been used without his consent. The scheme promised daily returns of 2% but ultimately collapsed, leading to a $61 million lawsuit.

The Future of DeFi Credit and TrueFi’s Game-Changing Approach

The Future of DeFi Credit and TrueFi’s Game-Changing Approach

In Brief

Vivek Saini outlined how the platform is transforming DeFi credit with transparent, institutional-grade lending, real-world asset integration, and innovative products like TF Bills and yield-bearing stablecoins to ensure sustainable on-chain credit markets.

Vivek Saini, COO of TrueFi, discussed how the platform is reshaping decentralized credit markets by making lending more transparent, accessible, and programmable. By developing robust on-chain infrastructure, TrueFi aims to bridge the gap between traditional financial institutions and decentralized finance, offering a more structured and secure lending environment.

Building a Transparent and Secure Credit Framework

On-chain borrowing and lending have traditionally been built around permissionless and trustless principles, but institutional investors and lenders often require additional assurances that are standard in traditional finance.

TrueFi is addressing this need by offering a credit framework that retains the transparency and efficiency of blockchain while incorporating the reliability and structured approach that traditional institutions expect. This allows borrowers to access capital more efficiently while investors benefit from clear risk assessments and verifiable lending practices.

As on-chain credit continues to evolve, TrueFi sees a future where decentralized lending becomes a fundamental part of global finance. The company is positioning itself as a leading provider of institutional-grade credit solutions that merge the best aspects of both DeFi and traditional finance. By expanding into real-world assets and diversifying its offerings, TrueFi aims to ensure that decentralized credit markets remain sustainable and competitive.

How TrueFi Stands Out in a Competitive DeFi Landscape

With DeFi lending becoming increasingly competitive, TrueFi differentiates itself by maintaining a reputation for security and trust. While many decentralized platforms focus solely on yield generation, TrueFi is committed to offering structured, risk-mitigated financial products that appeal to both crypto-native users and institutional investors. This approach has helped the platform attract a growing number of participants looking for a reliable entry point into on-chain credit markets.

TrueFi is adapting to emerging trends in DeFi credit markets by expanding its product suite. In addition to credit lines, the platform has been actively developing new financial products, including TF Bills, a treasury bill-backed investment product, and a yield-bearing stablecoin designed to provide competitive returns while maintaining security and stability. These innovations are part of TrueFi’s broader strategy to integrate traditional financial principles into DeFi, ensuring that on-chain lending continues to evolve in a way that benefits all participants.

Nextrope Launches “AI-Powered Smart Contract Auditing” Project – Nextrope – Your Trusted Partner for Blockchain Development and Advisory Services

Decentralized systems are reshaping how we interact, conduct transactions, and govern online communities. As Web3 continues to advance, the necessity for effective and fair voting mechanisms becomes apparent. Traditional voting systems, such as the one-token-one-vote model, often fall short in capturing the intensity of individual preferences, which can result in centralization. Quadratic Voting (QV) addresses this challenge by enabling individuals to express not only their choices but also the strength of their preferences.

In QV, voters are allocated a budget of credits that they can spend to cast votes on various issues. The cost of casting multiple votes on a single issue increases quadratically, meaning that each additional vote costs more than the last. This system allows for a more precise expression of preferences, as individuals can invest more heavily in issues they care deeply about while conserving credits on matters of lesser importance.

    Understanding Quadratic Voting

Quadratic Voting (QV) is a voting system designed to capture not only the choices of individuals but also the strength of their preferences. In most DAO voting mechanisms, each person typically has one vote per token, which limits the ability to express how strongly they feel about a particular matter. Furthermore, QV limits the power of whales and founding team who typically have large token allocations. These problems are adressed by making the cost of each additional vote increase quadratically.

In QV, each voter is given a budget of credits or tokens that they can spend to cast votes on various issues. The key principle is that the cost to cast n votes on a single issue is proportional to the square of n. This quadratic cost function ensures that while voters can express stronger preferences, doing so requires a disproportionately higher expenditure of their voting credits. This mechanism discourages voters from concentrating all their influence on a single issue unless they feel very strongly about it. In the context of DAOs, it means that large holders will have a hard-time pushing through with a proposal if they’ll try to do it on their own.

    Practical Example

Consider a voter who has been allocated 25 voting credits to spend on several proposals. The voter has varying degrees of interest in three proposals: Proposal A, Proposal B, and Proposal C.

    Proposal A: High interest.

    Proposal B: Moderate interest.

    Proposal C: Low interest.

The voter might allocate their credits as follows:

    Proposal A:

    Votes cast: 3

    Cost: 9 delegated tokens

    Proposal B:

    Votes cast: 2

    Cost: 4 delegated tokens

    Proposal C:

    Votes cast: 1

    Cost: 1 delegated token

Total delegated tokens: 14Remaining tokens: 11

With the remaining tokens, the voter can choose to allocate additional votes to the proposals based on their preferences or save for future proposals. If they feel particularly strong about Proposal A, they might decide to cast one more vote:

    Additional vote on Proposal A:

    New total votes: 4

    New cost: 16 delegated tokens

    Additional cost: 16−9 = 7 delegated tokens

    Updated total delegated tokens: 14+7 = 21

    Updated remaining tokens: 25−21 = 425 – 21 = 4

This additional vote on Proposal A costs 7 credits, significantly more than the previous vote, illustrating how the quadratic cost discourages excessive influence on a single issue without strong conviction.

    Benefits of Implementing Quadratic Voting

Key Characteristics of the Quadratic Cost Function

Marginal Cost Increases Linearly: The marginal cost of each additional vote increases linearly. The cost difference between casting n and n−1 votes is 2n−1.

Total Cost Increases Quadratically: The total cost to cast multiple votes rises steeply, discouraging voters from concentrating too many votes on a single issue without significant reason.

Promotes Egalitarian Voting: Small voters are encouraged to participate, because relatively they have a much higher impact.

    Advantages Over Traditional Voting Systems

Quadratic Voting offers several benefits compared to traditional one-person-one-vote systems:

Captures Preference Intensity: By allowing voters to express how strongly they feel about an issue, QV leads to outcomes that better reflect the collective welfare.

Reduces Majority Domination: The quadratic cost makes it costly for majority groups to overpower minority interests on every issue.

Encourages Honest Voting: Voters are incentivized to allocate votes in proportion to their true preferences, reducing manipulation.

By understanding the foundation of Quadratic Voting, stakeholders in Web3 communities can appreciate how this system supports more representative governance.

    Conclusion

Quadratic voting is a novel voting system that may be used within DAOs to foster decentralization. The key idea is to make the cost of voting on a certain issue increase quadratically. The leading player that makes use of this mechanism is Optimism. If you’re pondering about the design of your DAO, we highly recommend taking a look at their research on quadratic funding.

Liam Payne’s family share new statement on singer’s death as they reveal “indescribable lasting damage” to his son Bear

Liam Payne’s family have released a heartbreaking new statement which details the “indescribably lasting damage” for his son, Bear.

The One Direction singer tragically died on October 16, 2024, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after he fell from a third-storey balcony. Immediately after his death, images of his body began circulating on social media.

As the investigation into the circumstances of his death continues, charges were dropped for three people, including his friend Roger Norres. However, two others still have charges against them for supplying drugs to the 31-year-old singer.

But now his family have released a statement.

      Liam Payne family statement released

Up until now, Liam’s family have remained silent on the ongoing case, along with their grief. But now they have broken their silence. The statement was released yesterday (Sunday March 3), and his family gave a heartbreaking update on how his son, Bear, is coping.

On behalf of his family, the statement read: “Liam’s death was an unspeakable tragedy. This is a time of tremendous grief and pain for those who knew and loved him. Liam ought to have had a long life ahead of him.”

They went on to directly comment on the updates in the investigation. It read: “We understand that the investigation into Liam’s death was absolutely necessary. And the family recognises the work done by the Argentinian authorities. However, the family accepts the Court of Appeal’s decision to drop all charges.”

Liam’s family then gave a heartbreaking update on Bear, after the media attention. Seven-year-old Bear is the son of Liam and his ex-girlfriend Cheryl.

“The constant media attention and speculation which has accompanied the process has exacted indescribable, lasting damage on the family. Particularly on Liam’s son, who is trying to process emotions which no seven-year-old should have to experience.”

They then went on to ask for privacy and space as they continue to grieve for Liam. And they also explained they “joined the celebration of his life” that was shown at the BRIT Awards on Saturday night.

It ended: “This weekend, at the BRIT Awards, Liam was remembered for his phenomenal contribution to British music and for his wider, positive impact on millions of adoring fans the world over.”

      BRIT awards paid tribute

The statement comes as the BRIT Awards paid an emotional homage to the singer. Jack Whitehall introduced the tribute, explaining they have “so many amazing memories” of the star at the awards ceremonies over the years.

They then played a tear-jerking video montage of Liam, including moments of his entire life and career. Over the top, a recording of Liam singing the One Direction hit Little Things played.

Fans were left in tears after the “beautiful” homage to Liam. And so did his close friend and bandmate Louis Tomlinson, who thanked the ceremony for the tribute.

Back then (and until recently) it was required to use dongle if you wanted to have all Microsoft Teams functionalities, that certification brings.

Enjoy all the functionality of a Teams meeting without the need for a dongle or additional software. Join a meeting, answer or end calls, mute or unmute yourself, or raise your hand.

This “ditch the dongle” -feature was released recently, the firmware 1.3.74 upgrade is dated January 16th, 2025.

I have been using Zone Wireless 2 in my Teams meetings quite a lot. In fact it is an excellent headset – audio quality is great for calls and the active noise cancellation is superb. This is really useful when family is at home. And thanks to Teams Voice Isolation + Zone Wireless 2 microphones family members (or in case you sit in a office with others: your coworkers) voices are not heard by online participants. The only drawback for me with Zone Wireless 2 is, that it is on-the-ear headset, which means I can’t wear it for multiple hours without a break, as it starts to press on my ears and gets uncomfortable. But a short break helps for that. Hey, Logitech: do you have plans to create an over-the-ear headset with similar quality & capabilities by any chance? #wishingwell

Now that the dongle is ditched, I haven’t gotten back to the dongle with Zone Wireless 2 anymore. There just isn’t any need to that. The connection is stable (no breaking up), controls work and Teams button is active via Bluetooth. This is just splendid, as I don’t have to worry about using the dongle to one of my two USB-C ports on Surface Laptop Studio.. This is a big thing, especially when you take the headset to the road with you – or you move around the office. This also means that I don’t have to worry about forgetting the dongle somewhere, or mixing it up with other headsets’ dongles. A little thing, big impact.

What I do wish, that Logitech (and Jabra) would upgrade other existing headsets to dongle-free. They can be used via Bluetooth (and usually it works quite ok) but getting that small extra with Teams Certification would be welcome. Especially Logitech True Wireless buds and Jabra Evolve2 buds would benefit of dongle-free functionality, but probably there isn’t hardware that could be just firmware updated to the required level. Both do work as a Bluetooth headset, but are not Teams Certificated when used without a dongle.

Microsoft Swift Pair is making the pairing of the headset really easy. I didn’t catch my own screenshot about the pairing after the upgrade, but taking a snip from Logitech’s page tells how it goes. Just turn on the headset and pair – could not be easier! The snip mentions the Zone 305, but it appeared to Zone Wireless 2 as well.

If you haven’t tried Zone Wireless 2 without a dongle so far, now is the time to ditch the dongle and celebrate about one more free USB-port in the laptop! To me this is just superb, but I do hope this extends to other models and vendors so the age of dongles can be put behind us (at least partially).
