General Hospital: Olivia Rages at Lois for Years Lost With Grandson Gio?

General Hospital fans, we have the truth about Gio’s paternity just about to come out, and it is going to send shock waves through the family. That includes Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero)’s very strong reaction when she finds out her best friend Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) has been lying to her for 20 years.

General Hospital Spoilers: Brook Lynn’s Secret and Chase’s Dilemma

Okay, so Brooklyn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton)’s big secret, that she got pregnant by Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) as a teenager. And gave the baby up for adoption, is trickling out on General Hospital. You know, first Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) found out by accident while she was doing a little B&E in Martin Gray (Michael E Knight)’s hotel room. Then, on a recent episode, Brook Lynn caved and told Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) that Dante is the father of her child.

It doesn’t look like Chase is going to take it very well. He is very soon raising his voice, getting a little upset with Brook Lynn, and tells her that the fact that it’s Dante kind of changes everything. Other GH spoilers for this week say that Chase is stuck on the horns of a dilemma. And I’m guessing it is whether or not to tell Dante, his very good friend, his partner at the PCPD.

You know, Brook Lynn didn’t want to blow up Dante’s life. But Chase is very big on honesty and doing the right thing. And I think he is going to have to tell Dante or convince Brook Lynn to go ahead and do it because Chase isn’t going to let this lie. We all know Lulu is not going to sit on this secret forever. So, Dante will find out. And then so will the rest of the family, including his mom, Olivia Falconeri Quartermaine.

The Explosive Truth: Gio’s True Identity Revealed

Of course, the most explosive part of this secret is something that Brook Lynn herself does not even know. She thinks her and Dante’s son that she gave up for adoption is out there in the world as some random young man. But of course, it’s not true. He’s right under everybody’s noses. And of course, none other than BLQ’s cousin, Gio.

The only people who know this are Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer), Gloria Cerullo (Ellen Travolta). And now Martin Gray (Michael E Knight) because, of course, he’s Lois’s lawyer. And she confided in him because she was worried about whether BLQ could open the closed adoption from back in the day. She’s trying to keep this secret. But we saw the other day that guilt is just eating Lois alive on General Hospital.

She really wants to tell Brook Lynn the truth. But her mom, Gloria, tells Lois that can never happen. She says they have to keep the truth about Gio hidden. And at this point, I almost feel like Gloria is more worried about the fallout than what is best for the people involved because there’s no reason not to tell Olivia, Ned Ashton (Wally Kurth). And so many people who love this family have been lied to for a long time.

Major Fallout: Olivia’s Betrayal and Family Reactions to the Gio Secret

I expect that we may see Lois crack, and she confesses to Brook Lynn. And when this Gio truth bomb explodes, it’s going to upend so many lives. Of course, the main three affected are going to be Brook Lynn, Dante, and their son, Gio, who right now, very sadly, thinks that he is an orphan. There’s going to be lots of other people to be impacted too. And they’re not going to take it very well when they find out they’ve been kept in the dark all these years.

When Olivia finds out she’s got a grandson that has been in the family and she has known nothing of it for more than 20 years. And it’s a secret that her best friend has been sitting on. And I can only imagine how distraught she’s going to be and upset at Lois. Dante, of course, is going to be shocked. But at the same time. He was also a clueless teenager back then. And I think he may show some grace and understand why BLQ never told him about her pregnancy.

General Hospital: Lois and Gloria Get No Grace?

I’m not sure how many people are going to show Lois and Gloria grace when this all comes out. Olivia is going to see this another way. She’s not going to be upset at BLQ. I think it’s going to be Lois that Olivia is going to be very angry at. Not only is Lois her bestie. But Gloria is like a second Bensonhurst mom to Olivia. And they’ve kept this from her for more than two decades.

Olivia will probably feel completely betrayed by both Lois and Gloria, and they may face her wrath, her full-on wrath. Olivia may go absolutely ballistic on Lois when she finds out she was keeping Gio from her all this time. And even worse, keeping it from Dante, because he had no idea Brook Lynn was ever even pregnant.

General Hospital: Giovanni Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) - Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) - Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer)
General Hospital: Giovanni Palmieri – Olivia Falconeri – Lois Cerullo

Ned’s Reaction, Sonny’s Fury, and Gio’s Heartbreak on GH

Olivia is going to be beside herself. Ned may actually flip out too because Lois has also deprived Ned of a chance to even know about his grandson. So, I think he’s going to be team Olivia. I don’t know if he’ll even try and defend Lois. But I don’t think it’s likely. I tend to think Olivia and probably Ned are going to put all the blame on Lois and Gloria.

Also, in this mix, don’t forget there’s Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to consider. Lois is one of his best friends too. And he has been watching out for Gio all this time. And unless he’s sitting on a secret and just hasn’t mentioned it, he should be blindsided as well. Sonny may feel the same way Olivia does, betrayed by Lois and furious on Dante’s behalf that he was robbed of raising his firstborn son. And don’t forget that Sonny’s grandkid also.

    General Hospital: Gio Blown Away?

Poor Gio’s life is about to be flipped upside down. He didn’t even know that he was adopted. And since his mom Camila died, you know, Gio’s been an orphan. He thought she was his birth mother. And he was told his dad passed away, lots of lies. So he’s likely going to be upset at Lois and Gloria as well, two women that he’s known and loved all of his life.

I don’t think it’s the adoption lie that is going to hurt Gio so much. I think it’s going to be the whole invented fictional father that he’s been missing out on. And it just doesn’t make sense to hide adoption from kids once they’re past a certain age. There’s just a whole lot of uncomfortable untruths. And since his mom Camila has been dead a while, Lois and Gloria have sat there and let him think he was an orphan when he had a mom and dad this whole time in Port Charles.

Lois’s Potential Exit and Tracy’s Reaction

Bottom line, a whole pile of people are going to be upset that Lois and Gloria were hiding the fact that Gio was adopted. It’s going to be a mess, and it’s something that he may not forgive, at least not for a while. A lot of other people may feel the same way, like Olivia, Ned, and some others in the family. And it may not be too long before Lois is the latest town pariah in Port Charles.

With everybody furious with her, she may pack her bags and head back to Bensonhurst with her mom, Gloria. We’ll see. Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) may even toss them out because she may make a big hairy deal out of this. On the upside, I think Tracy is going to be thrilled that Gio really is family because she likes the kid a lot.

This is also kind of perfect timing for Lois to exit because Rena Sofer, who plays her, recently mentioned she wants to go into semi-retirement from acting. So, this messy reveal about Gio may be Lois’s swan song. And maybe she drops back to recurring status, rarely seen on General Hospital. We’ll find out.

Intentions vs. Impact: The Messy Aftermath on General Hospital

Lois and Gloria may have to leave on a walk of shame back to Bensonhurst with everybody angry. Of course, Lois had good intentions. She thought she was doing the right thing all this time. And I agree up to a certain point. But once Gio’s mom died, then it becomes really, really dodgy.

I don’t think is going to write her mom, Lois, off or anything. But Olivia, Ned, and Sonny, they may have some things to say. Gio is probably going to have a lot to say. And it might be better if Lois does leave town and heads back to the borough very soon. It’s going to be so messy. And I’m here for it.

Split Fiction Devs Claim No Interference From EA As They Begin Work On Their Next Game

    Summary

Split Fiction is a commercial and critical success with over 1 million copies sold in 48 hours. Hazelight Studios is already working on their next game despite Split Fiction’s success. EA respects Hazelight’s independence, allowing them to create without interference.

Split Fiction is a bona-fide commercial and critical hit for Hazelight Studios. It sold over one million copies in just 48 hours and established a new concurrent record on Steam for an EA-published game.

While some studios might bask in their success before moving on, Hazelight’s development team is already gearing up for its next game.

Hazelight Boss Jose Fares Confirms Studio Already Working On Next Game

    splitfiction-thehollow-002

Hazelight founder Jose Fares was a guest on the Friends Per Second podcast (via Culture Crave) where he said, “Split Fiction is the best-received game we have done, everybody is super happy, but I’m so fully focused and excited on the next thing.”

As one might expect, Fares didn’t offer anything specific regarding Hazelight’s next project. While Split Fiction is a massive success, the studio isn’t feeling the pressure for its next game. On the contrary, it thinks it can do even better.

Fares shared, “It’s not like we’re feeling now, ‘Oh, shit, how will we top [Split Fiction] or do better than this?’ We just feel like… just wait until [you see] what we do next. I know it’s cocky. But that’s how confident we feel in what we’re doing.”

In the same chat, Fares revealed that Hazelight does not pitch the studio’s game to publisher Electronic Arts (EA). In case you didn’t know, EA has been the publisher of all of Hazelight’s games. Instead, they tell EA what they’re doing. Fares explains, “That’s it. They have zero to say about what we are doing next.”

Additionally, Fares acknowledges that EA might be “fu**ng up its partnerships with other companies, but not Hazelight. “They respect us. They respect what we do. I am very clear with them that they cannot interfere with what we do,” Fares noted.

Split Fiction: 10 Easter Eggs Hidden In The Game

Split Fiction is full of easter eggs, and here are some of the best ones.

Whatever Hazelight’s next project is, don’t expect it out anytime soon. The studio usually takes 3-4 years to develop a game. A Way Out started development in 2014 and was released in 2018. It Takes Two was released in 2021, and Split Fiction was released this year. By that estimate, don’t expect Hazelight’s latest game to be available no sooner than 2028 or 2029, which means there’s a very big possibility that the studio’s next game might be a title for the PS6 and the next Xbox console.

If you haven’t played Split Fiction, you might want to change that, as the game really is that good. Our review even mentions how “Split Fiction has proven that Hazelight is simply the best modern studio in the co-op business.” Just remember that Split Fiction, much like Hazelight’s past games, is purely a co-op experience, You cannot play it solo or with a bot. If you have another friend who has a capable PC or a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, you can share the game via the “Friend’s Pass” system.

Christina Applegate Details Hospital Stays From Diarrhea and Vomiting

Christina Applegate offered an update on her multiple sclerosis (MS) battle while answering fan questions on her “MeSsy” podcast.

“For three years, since I was diagnosed, I’ve been in the hospital upwards of 30 times from throwing up and diarrhea and pain,” Applegate, 53, said during the Tuesday, March 18, episode of the podcast she cohosts with Jamie Lynn Sigler. “That is unimaginable, OK? They’ve done every test known to man on me, put so much radiation into my body from CT scans to everything else.”

Within the “last month,” Applegate said she thinks she figured out the issue. (The listener who wrote into the podcast has also been diagnosed with MS, and asked about vomiting and having diarrhea daily.)

“Now, maybe this isn’t what’s happening, but I’m just going to tell you this. Talk to your doctor about motility issues, OK,” Applegate continued. “Because one of the things with MS is that it slows down our organs, you know, not like completely, but there is a slowing of the function of your organs.”

Christina Applegate has opened up about her daily battles with Multiple Sclerosis. Speaking on the Tuesday, November 5, episode of her “MeSsy” podcast, cohosted with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who also suffers from the autoimmune disease, Applegate, 52, said she feels sharp pains “every single day.” “I lay in bed screaming,” Applegate said while detailing how the […]

She added: “I have noticed that — and I’m going to be really honest — if I have to poop, I puke.”

Applegate noted that she was going to get a colonoscopy and planned to bring this listener’s letter with her to show the doctor.

“My neuro doesn’t — God bless her — says that’s not an MS thing,” Applegate added. “So, I’m sorry, there’s got to be a correlation here, and I’m not a doctor. I’m not giving medical advice. I’m just saying, just think about that, OK? Because I’m in the middle of the same exact situation, and it f—ing sucks, and it’s scary.”

Applegate sarcastically stated that her “favorite part” about living with MS is having diarrhea and vomiting simultaneously.

“Always have a little trash can next to your toilet. Because you can do both without it being messy,” Applegate said, laughing. “I had one yesterday.”

Applegate has been candid about her MS battle after she was diagnosed with the disease in 2021. She’s been able to offer more insight into her health battle on the “MeSsy” podcast, which launched in March 2024.

Related: Christina Applegate Hasn’t Showered in ‘3 Weeks’ Due to MS ‘Relapse’

Christina Applegate’s multiple sclerosis is “in relapse right now,” and it’s impacting her personal hygiene. “I’m gonna be honest with you, I need to buy stock in Cottonelle because I haven’t taken a shower in three weeks,” Applegate, 52, admitted during the Tuesday, April 2, episode of her “MeSsy” podcast, cohosted by Jamie-Lynn Sigler. “I […]

The actress shared during a December 2024 episode of the podcast that she first started experiencing symptoms in 2019 — but initially dismissed them.

“I remember falling that day,” she said, referring to a time when she was filming the Dead to Me pilot. “Hi, first sign of MS!”

Applegate wasn’t actually diagnosed until they filmed the show’s third and final season.

“I remember you losing your balance a couple of times but it was very hard to figure out,” the show’s creator Liz Feldman said during the same podcast episode. “I remember one time it was like really late at night, we’d been shooting probably 14 or 15 hours, it seemed completely reasonable that anybody would be collapsing.”

Kanye West Hurls Homophobic Slurs at Drake, Calls Kendrick Lamar a Rapist, Praises Diddy

Kanye West Hurls Homophobic Slurs at Drake, Calls Kendrick Lamar a Rapist, Praises Diddy

        Reading Time: 3 minutes

Kanye West is having another meltdown on social media.

And this time, he seems determined to alienate his few remaining friends and supporters.

Earlier this week, Kanye went on the attack against Kim Kardashian and her family.

That same day, he released a song on which he collaborated with accused sex trafficker Diddy.

Kim was upset to learn that vocals from her 11-year-old daughter were also featured on the track.

Kanye responded by lashing out at his ex-wife and publicly sharing screenshots of her text messages.

        Today, Ye expanded his focus.

He continued lashing out at Kim (at one point, he tweeted, “I don’t give a f–k about that old white lady other than her always pulling bulls–t with my black children,”) but he also took shots at several fellow rappers, including Tyler, the Creator, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake.

        Yet another tirade from Kanye

He was particularly harsh in his criticism toward Drake, whom he repeatedly referred to using homophobic slurs.

“I DON’T PERSONALLY HAVE AN ISSUE WITH KENDRICK (I PROBABLY WILL NOW) BUT HE WAS A PAWN TO TAKE DOWN F–GOT(AKA DRAKE) BECAUSE THESE RECORD LABELS DONT WANT BIG ARTIST BECAUSE THE SMALLER ARTIST ARE EASIER TO CONTROL AND REPLACE,” Kanye tweeted.

“KENDRICK WAS THE INDUSTRY PUPPET THEN THEY WAS DONE WITH HIM,” he added, in his usual all-caps style.

Kanye went on to say that he hates to give any credit to Drake (whom he continued to refer to with homophobic) before praising a lyric from one of his Kendrick diss tracks.

Kanye directs his wrath toward Kendrick Lamar, defends Diddy

As evidenced by the “industry puppet” line, Kanye is also no fan of Kendrick’s, and he made the extent of his feelings clear today:

“HATE TO GIVE THIS F–GOT CREDIT BUT FAVORITE LINE OF THE BATTLE LAST YEAR IS WHEN THE F–GGOT SAID ‘YOU RAP LIKE YOU TRYNA FREE THE SLAVES’ HE DOES,” Ye tweeted.

“NOOOOBODY HAS EVER LISTENED TO KENDRICK OR KNOWS ANY OF HIS SONGS,” he continued, adding:

“KENDRICK SOUND LIKE A RAPIST.” He offered no additional context for that seemingly unfounded claim.

All of this came on the heels of a bizarre Instagram post from The Shade Room, in which Kanye is seen having a lengthy conversation with Diddy, who apparently called him from prison.

Kanye has been defending the disgraced mogul for weeks. Today he wrote that he can’t understand why so many people are “MAD AT PUFF [Diddy],” as everyone “KNOWS SOMEONE WHO HIT A GIRL.”

West went on to compare himself to Wendy Williams, who is currently under a conservatorship. He then stated that he expects to be placed under a 5150 psychiatric hold because of his tweets.

Kenye concluded one of the day’s many tirades with:

“I TWEET EVERYTHING I THINK OF.”

We certainly won’t argue with him there.

Inside the lives of Michael Jackson’s kids today – suicide attempt; engagement; sexuality ‘taboo’

Inside the lives of Michael Jackson’s kids today – suicide attempt; engagement; sexuality ‘taboo’

Whether they liked it or not, the kids of Michael Jackson were brought into the spotlight from the day they were born.

As they have gotten older, the King Of Pop’s three children, Prince, 28, Paris, 26, and Bigi (formerly known as Blanket), 21, have become more visible to the public now that they’re grown. However, when they were children, their late father, who died in 2009 at age 50, would try to protect them from the paparazzi with masks and veils.

In a 2021 interview with Good Morning Britain, Prince revealed that he and his siblings get on well. “We have such a close relationship, and because I’m the oldest, my father would always tell me I have to make sure the group is taken care of, and that I have to kind of be the leader and lead by example,” he said.

But what have they been up to since their father’s death?

Michael Jackson kids: Prince launched his own charity

Prince, whom Michael shared with ex-wife Debbie Rowe, has since co-founded his own charity, Heal Los Angeles, with a friend.

During the pandemic, Heal teamed up with a meal delivery service to give meals to those in need. During an interview with ET Online, Prince said he believed his dad would be “proud” of his work.

“I would like to think that he would be very proud because I think this was one of his main goals, was not only to spread his message of positivity and happiness but to see it enacted in his kids,” he shared.

“I’m very grateful that I have this feeling that it’s this collaborative ecosystem — we all need to help each other — and that came from the way that he raised us.”

In 2019, Prince graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in business administration.

Paris Jackson struggled after her father’s death

Paris, Michael’s only daughter with Debbie, is arguably the most famous sibling.

Following in her father’s footsteps, she has carved out a career in music. However, her sound differs from Michael’s and takes a more indie-folk approach. She released her debut album, Wilted, in 2020.

Next month, she will play The O2 Arena as the support act for Incubus. The London venue is the same arena where her father was supposed to perform his final This Is It concerts.

Born with natural good looks, Paris is also a model and has fronted many campaigns for Skims, KVD Beauty, and Calvin Klein.

A woman of many talents, the 26-year-old is also an actor and has starred in American Horror Stories and Star.

While Paris’ career has seen her blossom into a talented in-demand star in her own right, she’s faced her fair share of struggles behind the scenes.

Following the death of Michael, Paris revealed to Rolling Stone that she attempted suicide “multiple times” by the time she was 15.

In 2015, she was also hospitalised after a possible suicide attempt.

“It was just self-hatred,” she shared in 2018. “Low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn’t do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore.”

          ‘Homosexuality is very taboo’

Paris has also been open about her sexuality over the years. She doesn’t put a label on herself and revealed why in 2021.

“I wouldn’t consider myself bisexual because I’ve dated more than just men and women,” she told Willow Smith on her Red Table Talk show.

Despite her openness on the subject, she admitted it hasn’t been easy to talk about due to her family’s religious beliefs.

“My family is very religious, and a lot of, like homosexuality, is very taboo, so we don’t talk about it, and it’s not really accepted,” she continued.

“I’ve gotten to a point where I respect them and I have love for them. I respect their beliefs. I respect their religion. I’m at a point where to expect them to put aside their culture and their religion … expectations lead to resentments. What people think about me isn’t my business.”

          Paris’ engagement

In 2024, Paris revealed to fans that she was engaged to music producer Justin Long. In an Instagram post featuring a series of pics together, she included a snapshot from when Justin proposed to her.

She wrote: “Doing life with you these last years has been an indescribable whirlwind and i couldn’t dream of anyone more perfect for me to do it all with. thank you for letting me be yours. i love you.”

The pair began dating in 2022.

Michael Jackson kids: Bigi keeps the lowest profile

Michael’s youngest child, Bigi, who was born via surrogate in 2002, likes to keep things on the down-low.

However, in a rare interview in 2021 with GMB, Bigi revealed he would like to make a positive impact on the world.

“That’s what each of us [siblings] want to do — make things that people enjoy but also benefit their lives,” he said.

He also said he is passionate about climate change, expressing: “I do think it’s important we all know about it. We have some work to do but our generation knows how important it is.”

Bigi previously took an interest in martial arts. In photos obtained by the Daily Mail in 2017, he can be seen leaving a class.

The move, which had been rumored for nearly a month, raised concerns among longtime Pokémon Go players — a passionate and dedicated fan base that isn’t shy about sharing its opinions — about the future of the game under Monopoly Go! maker Scopely.

As a longtime Pokémon Go player myself, I also had concerns about the game’s new ownership related to monetization and sharing of player data. On Friday, I spoke with senior product director for Pokémon Go Michael Steranka — who’s been working on the game for eight years — to learn more about the deal from his perspective and address burning questions from the player community.

You can read our conversation below, which has been edited for clarity.

Polygon: As someone who works on the game very closely, what do you think this deal with Scopely means for Pokémon Go for players?

Michael Steranka: I definitely have been looking online myself and reading some player theories and hypotheses and whatnot. What I would love to be able to get across is like, Hey, it’s actually great. It’s going to be a good thing for the game and for the communities out there. Very happy to chat with you and hopefully have an opportunity to set the record straight or at least quell a lot of the concerns that I’ve been seeing from folks online.

Why do you think it’s going to be great?

So, I am one of the few people that’s actually had the fortune of having been able to chat with members of the Scopely team for the past few months and really get to know them quite a lot before this deal got signed. In the course of getting to know the team over at Scopely, I’ve come to really find that they share so many of the same values that we’ve held near and dear to us at Niantic in terms of really caring about the player communities that they’ve fostered through their various games. [There are] also lots of shared values on how to operate within a team and caring about the people on the teams as well. But also through those conversations, something that’s become really clear to me is how they operate as an organization comprised of lots of different game teams building their total portfolio. The way that they operate is they truly give all of their individual game teams full autonomy to make the best decisions that they can for their games. There’s not really a lot of top-down, executive-level guidance or pressure on any of the different game teams. They’re really there to do their best to support the different teams and make sure that we have all the resources that we need to be as successful as we can.

So hearing all of that, and doing my own personal investigation with friends that I know at Scopely just to get a gut check on how folks felt on the ground, I’ve found that to be true and be very reassuring insofar as we’re going to be able to continue to operate Pokémon Go the same way we always have, with the same practices that we always have, and evolve the game in the way that we’ve always envisioned wanting to do.

In those discussions that you had, did you get the impression that Scopely views Pokémon Go differently than its other free-to-play titles?

Absolutely, yeah. This is maybe a little bit into the business side of things, but through the diligence process, they get access to everything on our side, all of our data and our [key performance indicators]. I think through looking at all of our data, they’ve found just a really incredible story of a group of game developers who’ve built a game very differently than any other developer in the market. And what they’ve shared with us time and time again is they’ve been so inspired by how we’ve been able to build such a durable and just a fantastic product with such a strong, rabid fan base that they just haven’t seen anywhere else. So of course they’re really interested in the fact that Pokémon Go is such a stable business, but almost more than that, they’ve been really interested to try to learn from us and see what they can take from how we build Pokémon Go and apply that to potentially other games in their portfolio and future games to come as well.

I think the big concern is that there will be intrusive ads that will interrupt gameplay in Pokémon Go — obviously, you do have ads, but they come in a very different delivery system. Or they worry that people would be restricted on playtime and then would have to pay money to keep playing. Is that something that’s going to come to Pokémon Go?

If there’s one takeaway that I would love for people to have from this conversation, it’s that definitively no, that is not happening in Pokémon Go — not now, not ever. Again, Scopely really recognizes how unique this game is, and they’ve told us themselves that they would be foolish to try to change the recipe of what’s made this such a huge hit and a success. So yeah, absolutely not. We will not be building into our games any type of obtrusive ads or anything like that. I just really want to reiterate Scopely as a company, the way that they operate is they give all of their teams the agency to make the decisions that’s right for their games. And that is not something that we feel would ever be right for Pokémon Go.

I’ve seen some concern that people’s location and movement data is being shared with a second corporation, even more people, and when you get to the top of the organizational structure, a different country. Are there any plans to address those concerns in terms of what players can keep private about their location, their travel information, the businesses they visit? Is there any thought addressing that now that you’re moving to a different company?

I’m happy to address that one head-on. We do not sell player data to third parties, full stop. We only leverage location data to operate the game, and we store any location data needed to operate the game on U.S.-based servers, and we follow all of the incredibly strict regulatory best practices to protect that data as best as we can. So if there are any fears that this is going to other places that you may or may not know or may or may not trust, I hope that what I’m sharing today can help quell any of those fears, because that is absolutely not something that happens today and not something that will happen in the future.

In the past, when I’ve spoken to [Niantic CEO] John Hanke very briefly and other Niantic people, one of the things that I think was raised again and again was the philosophy of getting out, being active, exploring. I guess what I’m curious is, is that a Niantic-specific philosophy? Does this move change that mandate in any way? What does this mean for you to have more freedom to do beyond Niantic?

It is definitely a Niantic-driven mission for sure. But I will say it’s something that we on the game team also feel very passionate about as well. And I would be remiss if through this transaction, Pokémon Go became Pokémon Stay at Home. We still want this game to be something that at its core encourages players to go outside and explore the world and create those real-world social connections because I think that truly is what makes this game unique and as valuable as it is to a company like Scopely. So I wouldn’t expect any changes on that front anytime soon because that’s a mission that we’re hoping to carry along with us, even through this new ownership.

I saw that Pokémon Go senior VP Ed Wu implied that even in-person community events like Safari Zone and Go Fest will continue as they are.

It’s totally true. The two things that I heard time and time again through the Scopely leadership that I’ve had a chance to chat with is, number one, how impressed they’ve been with our ability to build such strong and passionate communities. But number two, how blown away they’ve been at what we’ve created in terms of our live event experiences. That’s something that no other game in the industry really does, and it’s an area that if anything, they want us to double down on and grow in the future. So first and foremost, all of what we’ve announced for Pokémon Go Fest this summer, that’s all still happening. And then beyond that, if anything, what I would say is expect maybe even bigger and better live events from us and maybe in even more locations in the future.

One of the other things I’d seen people say and wanted to address was what seemed to be a bit of a reassurance with players that no matter what Scopely may do with Pokémon Go, that at the end of the day, The Pokémon Company has guardrails set up to protect its players and protect its brand. Can you address what TPC’s role is in a situation like this and how they have oversight over the game?

Yeah. Well, again, not to get too into the business side of things, but The Pokémon Company has always been a part of the Niantic board ever since we spun out from Google. They’ve been walking side by side with us through every step along the way and have been very supportive of this Scopely acquisition. And so we would not be able to make a transaction like this without The Pokémon Company being on board, and they’re going to continue to be absolutely valuable partners for us as we continue to build great and authentic Pokémon experiences for Pokémon Go.

Is there anything else that you think that people are misunderstanding or over-panicking about as it relates to this deal?

The thing that I really want to reiterate to folks is the team that has been building Pokémon Go over all of these years, everybody’s coming along for the ride if they want to. Of course, if someone doesn’t want to come along, nobody’s forcing anybody to come. And so that was something that was not only important to us, it is really important to Scopely as well. They wanted to make sure that there was true continuity here and that the operational aspects of this game did not degrade as a part of this transaction. And so that’s really important to me. We have such an incredible team working on Pokémon Go, and I would not want to continue operating this game if it meant that I didn’t get to work with the same amazing people that I’ve been able to for years and years.

In a situation like this, where do you get most of your feedback on the game from? What’s coming into you the most and how do you process all that?

We leverage lots of sources for feedback. I’m personally reading things that I see online and whatnot, but I also talk to folks in my local community and I’ll catch up with people at Go Fest, but my own personal sort of processing of feedback aside, we also have a robust user research arm in the company. And so we’re constantly serving players and pulling not just quantitative feedback, but qualitative feedback as well, because any source of information can come with its own inherent biases, and we really want to be able to cut through that and sample a broad range of players.

We’re coming up on a decade of Pokémon Go. In light of this big change happening, what are the things that stand out to you the most as to how the game has changed, the things that you’ve learned as a team, and what you want to kind of carry forward into — this is scary to say — the next decade of Pokémon Go?

So you might not know this, but I’ve been spearheading our 10-year anniversary projects, so that’s been a big part of my day to day for the past one and a half, two years or so. We’ve been planning on this for a long time, so I really want to make sure that next year is as big of a celebratory moment as possible for Pokémon Go. And as you probably know, it’s also the 30-year anniversary for Pokémon as a brand. So I think next year as a Pokémon fan, you are going to have just the best year of all time. So I cannot wait for folks to see what we all have planned in terms of these past 10 years compared to the next 10 years.

I often look back at the announcement trailer for Pokémon Go. In many ways, that signaled what the future of this game might look like. If you look back on the trailer today, you’ll find that a lot of the promises we made back in 2016 we’ve delivered on. So I’m very interested in, if we were to create another, maybe not a launch trailer, but a next-10-years trailer, what might that look like and how can we excite and inspire players for another decade of this fantastic experience? Nothing specific to share on that front, but we as a team are really thinking about that. We look at Pokémon Go as a forever game, as we’ve said before, and I’m happy to share that Scopely also looks at Pokémon Go and all of their franchises as forever products. That’s another area where I feel like there’s just such great synergy between the two groups, and I have all the confidence that Scopely is going to invest in the long-term success of Pokémon Go and not just what’s going to be good for next month.

Finally, with this move to Scopely, does this get us any closer to getting Caterpie in a cowboy hat in Pokémon Go?

Nothing to share on that front, unfortunately. What, cowboy hat Snorlax wasn’t enough for folks? We have to put it on more Pokémon?

New Crypto to Buy: Most Promising Emerging Coins

New Crypto to Buy: Most Promising Emerging Coins

Major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum have started the week with a nothing burger – prices are flat.

However, investors are scrambling to buy new cryptocurrencies, with some of the most popular ones seeing big capital inflows. It appears that smart traders are positioning in new cryptocurrencies now ahead of the market’s next leg up, which is expected to happen soon.

With that in mind, here are the three trending new crypto to buy now:

          Solaxy

Solaxy is a new project that promises to unlock the full power of Solana through its first-ever layer 2 blockchain. Right now, Solana is one of the hottest blockchains in crypto, with millions of daily active users and billions of dollars in daily trading volume. But it’s not without issues.

The network’s substantial adoption leads to congestion during times of peak activity, causing longer wait times and transaction failures. This is the issue that Solaxy is solving this issue.

Its layer 2 will resolve some of Solana’s workload, using transaction bundling technology and off-chain computation to make transactions cheaper, faster, and more reliable.

Not only is Solaxy solving Solana’s most pressing issue, but it’s doubling down on Solana’s strengths, too.

The project is undergoing a presale and has raised $26.8 million so far.

Given its current early stage and powerful use case, it’s clear that this could perform well in the months ahead.

          BTC Bull Token

BTC Bull Token is a trending meme coin on the Ethereum blockchain. However, it isn’t just here to make people laugh – its goal is to increase Bitcoin ownership among people daily.

The project will airdrop Bitcoin and $BTCBULL rewards to holders at key milestones as Bitcoin ventures toward $1 million, starting when it hits $150K.

By underpinning the viral meme coin model with recurring rewards, BTC Bull Token separates itself from its peers.

It also has staking and burning mechanisms that aid in its supply and demand dynamics, incentivizing investors to buy and hold long-term.

BTC Bull Token is available to buy in its presale, which has raised $3.7 million so far.

In bullish periods, meme coins tend to provide substantial returns. As the next rally gets underway, there’s every chance that meme coin fans will be queuing up to buy $BTCBULL, given its focus on community rewards.

          Best Wallet Token

Best Wallet token is the new crypto that powers Best Wallet, a new Web3 wallet app that changes how users interact with blockchains.

Its offerings go well beyond those of MetaMask or Trust Wallet, starting with support for over 60 blockchains. It supports chains including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, and even XRP. For the first time, users can access all these ecosystems from one app.

Beyond that, it boasts many innovative features, including a crypto debit card, a staking aggregator, a presale aggregator, a cross-chain DEX, and much more.

Users can get even more from the wallet by holding $BEST, which offers governance rights, access to promotions on partner projects, higher staking yields, and trading fee discounts.

The presale is ongoing and has raised $11.1 million so far.

With a use case that disrupts the multi-billion dollar crypto wallet industry, coupled with innate token utility, the token is set for significant gains once it lists on exchanges.
