Valve updated Proton Experimental for January 22nd with a bunch more fixes for gamers on Linux, SteamOS and Steam Deck. Like the Battle.net update issue that came up recently that was fixed in a recent GE-Proton update too. Confused on all the Proton versions? Go and read my guide explainer.

Noted as now playable with this update:

Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition Demo.
Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator.

Other fixes:

Fixed non-Steam battle.net installations.
Fixed desync issue with 60FPS AVPro videos in VRChat.

Fixed Proton 9 regressions:

Fixed performance degradation in Dirt Rally 2.

Nice to see Valve continue to fix issues with apps people add into Steam like Battle.net, since you can install various third-party standalone stuff using Proton too.

If you have Proton Experimental installed it will show up as an update available in your Steam Downloads.
