    Stephen Mulhern halts Deal or No Deal and apologises as player left in tears

    In an episode that will go down in Deal Or No Deal history, host Stephen Mulhern brought the game to a temporary standstill last night (November 4).

    However, the unplanned interruption wasn’t due to a technical issue or a controversial decision, but to acknowledge an emotional reaction.

    Deal or No Deal: Paisley wins big

    The episode saw midwife Paisley testing her luck against the banker. With aspirations of taking home a life-altering sum, Paisley’s journey was a rollercoaster of highs and lows.

    Her game began on an optimistic note, with the lower-value amounts being eliminated early on. However, the tension escalated after the coveted £100,000 prize was taken off the table.

    Despite this blow, Paisley remained undeterred. She bravely rejected the banker’s offers in pursuit of a substantial win. With just five boxes remaining, Paisley faced a tough decision.

    But upon receiving an offer of £16,750, she tearfully accepted the deal, excitedly planning to treat her parents to a cruise and getting a congratulatory cuddle from the show’s host.

    Stephen Mulhern declares ‘this is absolutely joyous’

    After that, Paisley played on and took out the £75k box. This meant she’d made the right decision in accepting the banker’s deal.

    It was at this point that an audience member – visibly moved by Paisley’s story – was brought to tears, prompting Deal or No Deal host Stephen Mulhern to pause the show.

    “This is absolutely joyous,” he declared.

    Stephen then turned his attention to a tearful Paisley. “Sorry, but can I just say, I’ve never seen this on anyone’s game, and I hope you don’t mind me pointing you out, but this gentleman in the back crying on your behalf. It’s amazing,” he exclaimed.

    I’ve never seen this on anyone’s game.

    The emotional exchange between an emotional Paisley and the tearful audience member culminated in a hug. However, the moment was interrupted by a call from the banker, prompting Stephen to quip: “Oh no, the banker is not going to be happy.”

    The banker jokingly remarked that Paisley was his least favourite contestant.

    Wrapping up the episode by opening the remaining boxes, Stephen congratulated Paisley on her win and her wise decision to take the deal.

    “Paisley, this gets better and better for you because you’re off on a cruise, making a dream come true for you and your family,” he said.

    Before opening her box to reveal £10, Stephen added of the banker’s final offer: “This wouldn’t even buy you a dinghy because your offer at this point would be £3,” he announced as the studio erupted into laughter and applause.

    Kate Middleton Back At the Gym After Chemo, Doing Very Well: Expert

      Kate Middleton Back At the Gym After Chemo, Doing Very Well: Expert

      Princess Kate Middleton is getting back into the swing of things after completing her course of chemotherapy.

      “From what I understand, Catherine is doing very well. She is back training at the gym and doing all the things she wanted to do,” royal expert Robert Jobson told Hello! Magazine in their latest issue. “I do think that we will start to see a lot more of her, and that she will carry out engagements as well as continuing to work behind the scenes.”

      Kate, 42, is set to attend the National Service of Remembrance ceremony in London on Sunday, November 10. The Princess of Wales has been ramping up her public duties since announcing in September that she was officially finished with chemotherapy.

      Jobson, the author of Catherine: The Princess of Wales, speculated to Hello! that Kate might limit the types of events she attends going forward. (Kate is also set to host her annual Christmas Carol Service next month.)

      Princess Kate Middleton is entering a new chapter after finishing her chemotherapy treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer. “She is in a positive place,” a friend told Hello! magazine in this week’s cover story. “She is feeling well and looking to the future, focusing on the things that matter to her most.” A source […]

      “Rather than travel all over the country all the time, like she used to, I think she will concentrate on more impactful events,” he explained. “If she has her way, she will come back in stages and do things that are important to her.”

      Jobson noted that Kate “has a different perspective” following her cancer battle.

      “Her focus will be on her family, while still managing to do the key events,” Jobson continued. “I think William is very keen that she does stage a comeback, but I don’t think that necessarily signals that we’re going to get a big tranche of engagements, one after the other.”

      The author noted that it’s a “bigger statement” if Kate is seen less — which has been true in recent months.

      Kate has kept a low profile after publicly announcing in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer. Now that her chemotherapy treatments have come to an end, the Princess of Wales is gearing up for her return back to life as a public-facing royal.

      A source similarly shared in Us Weekly’s latest issue that Kate is looking to get back to work.

      “Kate loves reconnecting with the community and representing her family, but she’s also trying to find a balance between her duties and personal well-being,” the insider shared. “She appreciates the sense of purpose but wants to ensure her stress levels don’t get [too high].”

      The source noted to Us that it’s a “double-edged sword” for Kate who wants to prioritize her health but get back to work.

      “[Working] is good for her emotional well-being, but she needs to be careful not to overdo it,” the insider added. “She is determined, motivated and taking care of herself along the way.”

      Hyperledger Web3j: HSM support for AWS KMS

      Hyperledger Web3j: HSM support for AWS KMS

      In the world of digital security, protecting sensitive data with robust encryption is essential. AWS Key Management Service (KMS) plays a crucial role in this space. It serves as a highly secure, fully managed service for creating and controlling cryptographic keys. What many may not realize is that AWS KMS itself operates as a Hardware Security Module (HSM), offering the same level of security you’d expect from dedicated hardware solutions.

      An HSM is a physical device designed to securely generate, store, and manage encryption keys, and AWS KMS delivers this functionality in a cloud-native way. Beyond key management, AWS KMS with HSM support can also be used to sign cryptographic transactions. This provides a trusted, hardware-backed way to secure blockchain interactions, digital signatures, and more. This article will cover  how AWS KMS functions as an HSM, the benefits of using it to sign crypto transactions, and how it fits into a broader security strategy.

      In Hyperledger Web3j, support for HSM was introduced two years ago, providing users with a secure method for managing cryptographic keys. For more details, you can refer to the official documentation.

      However, despite this integration, many users have encountered challenges in adopting and implementing HSM interfaces, particularly when using the AWS KMS module. To address these difficulties, a ready-to-use implementation has been added specifically for AWS KMS HSM support. This simplifies the integration process, making it easier for users to leverage AWS KMS for secure transaction signing without the complexity of manual configurations.

      The class, HSMAwsKMSRequestProcessor, is an implementation of the HSMRequestProcessor interface, which is responsible for facilitating interaction with an HSM. This newly implemented class contains all the essential code required to communicate with AWS KMS, enabling the retrieval of data signed with the correct cryptographic signature. It simplifies the process of using AWS KMS as an HSM by handling the intricacies of signature generation and ensuring secure transaction signing without additional development overhead.

      Here is a snippet with the most important actions of the callHSM method:

      @Override
      public Sign.SignatureData callHSM(byte[] dataToSign, HSMPass pass) {

      // Create the SignRequest for AWS KMS
      var signRequest =
      SignRequest.builder()
      .keyId(keyID)
      .message(SdkBytes.fromByteArray(dataHash))
      .messageType(MessageType.DIGEST)
      .signingAlgorithm(SigningAlgorithmSpec.ECDSA_SHA_256)
      .build();

      // Sign the data using AWS KMS
      var signResult = kmsClient.sign(signRequest);
      var signatureBuffer = signResult.signature().asByteBuffer();

      // Convert the signature to byte array
      var signBytes = new byte[signatureBuffer.remaining()];
      signatureBuffer.get(signBytes);

      // Verify signature osn KMS
      var verifyRequest =
      VerifyRequest.builder()
      .keyId(keyID)
      .message(SdkBytes.fromByteArray(dataHash))
      .messageType(MessageType.DIGEST)
      .signingAlgorithm(SigningAlgorithmSpec.ECDSA_SHA_256)
      .signature(SdkBytes.fromByteArray(signBytes))
      .build();

      var verifyRequestResult = kmsClient.verify(verifyRequest);
      if (!verifyRequestResult.signatureValid()) {
      throw new RuntimeException(“KMS signature is not valid!”);
      }

      var signature = CryptoUtils.fromDerFormat(signBytes);
      return Sign.createSignatureData(signature, pass.getPublicKey(), dataHash);
      }

      NOTE!

      In order to use this properly, the type of key spec created in AWS KMS must be ECC_SECG_P256K1. This is specific to the crypto space, especially to EVM. Using any other key will result in a mismatch error when the  data signature is created.

      Example

      Here is a short example of how to call the callHSM method from the library:

      public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
      KmsClient client = KmsClient.create();

      // extract the KMS key
      byte[] derPublicKey = client
      .getPublicKey((var builder) -> {
      builder.keyId(kmsKeyId);
      })
      .publicKey()
      .asByteArray();
      byte[] rawPublicKey = SubjectPublicKeyInfo
      .getInstance(derPublicKey)
      .getPublicKeyData()
      .getBytes();

      BigInteger publicKey = new BigInteger(1, Arrays.copyOfRange(rawPublicKey, 1, rawPublicKey.length));

      HSMPass pass = new HSMPass(null, publicKey);

      HSMRequestProcessor signer = new HSMAwsKMSRequestProcessor(client, kmsKeyId);
      signer.callHSM(data, pass);
      }

      Conclusion

      AWS KMS, with its built-in HSM functionality, offers a powerful solution for securely managing and signing cryptographic transactions. Despite initial challenges faced by users in integrating AWS KMS with Hyperledger Web3j, the introduction of the HSMAwsKMSRequestProcessor class has made it easier to adopt and implement. This ready-to-use solution simplifies interactions with AWS KMS, allowing users to securely sign data and transactions with minimal configuration. By leveraging this tool, organizations can enhance their security posture while benefiting from the convenience of AWS’s cloud-native HSM capabilities.

      OpenSea to Launch New NFT Platform Amid Market and Legal Setbacks – Cryptoflies News

      3

      Non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace OpenSea is set to launch a new version of its platform, as announced by CEO Devin Finzer on November 4.

      In a post on X (Twitter), Finzer wrote, “We’ve been quietly cooking at @opensea,” adding that the team had to “reimagine everything” and rebuild the platform “from the ground up.”

      While details of the new platform remain limited, OpenSea plans to make it available to users in December, with a waitlist already open. More than 233,000 wallets have already signed up so far.

      Early user feedback from those with beta access has highlighted new features like a “Leaderboard” and “Reward” section, suggesting that OpenSea is incorporating gamified elements and incentives into the platform.

      opensea new platform features

      The announcement follows a long-term strategy that Finzer has referenced since late 2023, called “OpenSea 2.0.” This initiative aims to enhance security and offer a more personalized user experience.

      You Might Be Interested In

      To support these changes, OpenSea underwent a significant restructuring, which included a workforce reduction of up to 50%. This was the company’s second major round of layoffs; in July 2022, OpenSea had already cut about 20% of its staff, leaving it with approximately 200 employees.

      OpenSea has faced mounting challenges over the past year. Following the restructuring, investment firm Coatue Management reduced its stake in the company by nearly 90%, which significantly impacted OpenSea’s valuation.

      In May 2024, OpenSea’s trading volume dropped to levels not seen since April 2021, reflecting a cooling interest in NFTs. Additionally, regulatory issues have increased, with the SEC sending a Wells notice to OpenSea in August, indicating its view that NFTs on the platform may qualify as securities. In September, two users filed a class-action lawsuit, claiming OpenSea sold unregistered securities.

      In response to these legal pressures, Finzer has been vocal in opposing the SEC’s stance. He committed $5 million to support affected NFT creators and, in September, collaborated with Coinbase to establish a $6 million legal defense fund. This fund, in collaboration with a16zcrypto and several law firms, offers legal assistance to creators navigating regulatory challenges in the NFT market.

      Mt. Gox Moves $2.2 Billion in Bitcoin Following Repayment Timeline Extension – Decrypt

      Mt. Gox Moves .2 Billion in Bitcoin Following Repayment Timeline Extension – Decrypt

      Mt. Gox moved another $2.2 billion worth of Bitcoin on Monday amid an extended period of volatility that has seen the crypto oscillating between $73,000 and $65,000 over the past few weeks.

      The defunct crypto exchange’s recent transfer was identified through wallets tracked by blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence, which disclosed the movement of 32,371 BTC, with the majority—30,371 BTC—directed to wallet address “1FG2C…Rveoy.”

      An additional 2,000 BTC was initially moved to a Mt. Gox cold wallet before being transferred to a separate unmarked wallet, Arkham data shows.

      It comes as Bitcoin briefly slid below $68,000 during Asian market trading, recording a 1% decline over 24 hours. The asset has since clawed back losses, trading at $68,700.

      Market analysts anticipate heightened volatility this week, projecting potential price swings of up to $8,000 as U.S. election activities add to market uncertainty.

      Monday’s significant movement also follows a smaller transfer of 500 BTC to two unidentified wallets in late September, which marked the exchange’s first activity since that period.

      These transfers historically precede distributions to creditors through established crypto exchanges, including Bitstamp and Kraken.

      Notably, the timing of this latest transfer coincides with Mt. Gox’s recent announcement that it is extending its repayment deadline by one year.

      This extension affects thousands of creditors who lost assets during the exchange’s 2014 security breach, which resulted in the theft of approximately 850,000 BTC—valued at over $15 billion at current market prices.

      Mt. Gox’s historical significance in the crypto industry ecosystem adds weight to these movements as well.

      Founded in 2010, the exchange once dominated Bitcoin trading, handling over 70% of global transactions before its collapse after a series of hacks between 2011 and 2014.

      The security breach marked one of the industry’s most significant setbacks, leading to years of legal proceedings and recovery efforts.

      In any case, the repayment process represents one of the cryptocurrency industry’s longest-running recovery efforts, with implications extending beyond immediate market dynamics.

      While short-term volatility is expected, the market’s maturity since Mt. Gox’s 2014 collapse may help buffer against dramatic price swings, with Bitcoin often displaying resilience against such events.

      The German Design Legacy: From Minimalism to Maximalism

      The German Design Legacy: From Minimalism to Maximalism

      Karl Lagerfeld

      While Germany may not necessarily be considered a fashion powerhouse when compared to the likes of its European counterparts in France and Italy, German-born designers have made distinct contributions to fashion, offering a range of aesthetic expressions that continue to influence the global stage. From the tailored precision of Tomas Maier (former creative director of Bottega Veneta from 2001 to 2018) to Jil Sander’s minimalist elegance, their work embodies sophistication and craftsmanship. Karl Lagerfeld — a fashion titan — bridged European traditions, leaving his mark on both ready-to-wear and haute couture at Chanel. Meanwhile, brands like Escada and Philipp Plein infuse boldness and opulence into their creations. Together, these designers highlight a spectrum of innovation, showcasing the enduring impact of German-born designers on the fashion industry. This design prowess unfolds in two radically different forms — minimalism and maximalism, both of which have deeply influenced market trends and consumer preferences, shaping not only style but also the economic landscape of luxury retail.

      Minimalism: The Art of Restraint

      Jil Sander Fall/Winter 2023

      One could argue that German minimalism in fashion finds its purest expression in the work of Jil Sander, often hailed as the “Queen of Minimalism” and the “Queen of Clean” by various fashion publications. Known for her sharp tailoring and clean, understated silhouettes, Sander’s designs are timeless, celebrating the essence of simplicity. Her neutral palettes and meticulous craftsmanship cater to those who appreciate sophistication without excess. Sander’s legacy goes beyond fashion; her ethos is closely tied to German architectural and design principles, valuing functionality and elegance. Described as a pioneer in the “unisex” movement of the 90s, the cyclical nature of fashion and nostalgia sees her amass a new following amongst Gen Z and Millennial consumers. In February 2024, Jil Sander saw sales increase by 17.3 percent year-on-year. Together with Margiela and Diesel, Jil Sander successfully drove growth for the OTB Group, seeing revenues hit approximately EUR 1.9 billion.

      The Maximalism Camp: Bold and The Beautiful

      Philipp Plein Spring/Summer 2020

      On the opposite side of the fashion spectrum lies the exuberance of Philipp Plein, a designer who epitomises maximalism. Plein’s work is known for its loud, extravagant flair, featuring everything from glittering skull motifs to heavy metallic accents. His runway shows are a spectacle, combining fashion and entertainment in a way that’s unapologetically ostentatious. For Plein, fashion is about embracing excess and making a statement, drawing in those who thrive on attention and luxury. He told the New York Times, “We are not a Jil Sander. We are not a Céline, obviously. We are not attracting this type of client.”

      In addition to luxe leather, metallic fabrics, and studded high tops, Plein’s collections feature eye-catching graphics, animal prints, and intricate motifs. These elements, combined with a heavy use of embellishments like studs and rhinestones, add a flamboyant touch to his designs which evoke a sense of rebellion and self-expression. With a penchant for maximalism, Phillip Plein’s designs could be polarising. However, in a 2023 exclusive interview with The New Yorker entitled “How Philipp Plein Became the King of Lowbrow High Fashion”, the publication noted that the Plein brand had a nett global revenue of EUR 215 million, on a par with luxury brands such as Thom Browne.

      Escada Fall/Winter 2024 Campaign

      Escada — another German powerhouse — embraces a similar love for vivid colour and eye-catching designs. Founded in 1978, the brand quickly gained a reputation for its luxurious fabrics and bold prints, catering to confident women who enjoy making a statement. Escada’s take on fashion balances opulence with a playful spirit, creating collections that are vibrant yet elegant. However, in 2020, WWD revealed that only six months after Regent LP, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm, acquired Escada from Megha Mittal, the luxury brand was already facing severe operational challenges. Escada has been burdened by escalating expenses since the takeover, struggling to cover costs such as seamstress payments, UPS delivery fees, and utility bills for its retail locations.

      Karl Lagerfeld: The Ultimate Bridge

      Karl Lagerfeld

      Standing as a bridge between these contrasting camps is Karl Lagerfeld, whose influence transcended boundaries. As the creative director of Chanel, Fendi, and his own namesake brand, Lagerfeld mastered both restraint and extravagance. His work for Chanel reinvigorated classic French luxury with a fresh, modern twist, often defying the conventions of the Parisian fashion establishment. He was a prolific designer whose sketches and visions turned him into a symbol of innovation, effortlessly navigating between haute couture and ready-to-wear. Lagerfeld’s career transcended his German heritage to leave an indelible mark on the global fashion industry. Despite early French criticism that he wasn’t “couture enough,” Lagerfeld’s relentless creativity and visionary designs proved the doubters wrong, transforming brands like Chanel and Fendi into modern powerhouses and solidifying his global legacy as one of the most influential figures in fashion history.

      Read More: Beyond the Label: How Luxury Brands Leverage on Legacy Storytelling

      When Lagerfeld took the reins of Chanel in 1983, he masterfully preserved the brand’s iconic elements — such as the tweed suits, pearls, and camellias — while reimagining them for a new generation. He introduced bolder colours, playful proportions, and contemporary silhouettes that appealed to younger audiences, making Chanel both timeless and trendy. Lagerfeld also embraced pop culture and collaborated with artists and influencers, bringing Chanel into the contemporary fashion conversation without losing its classic allure. Under Lagerfeld’s creative direction, China emerged as a key sales engine for Chanel, with sales increasing by 11 percent from 2018 to 2019 in constant currency, driven by demand from Asian shoppers.

      A New Wave: GmbH Cultural Rebellion

      GmbH is a Berlin-based fashion brand founded in 2016 by designers Benjamin Alexander Huseby and Serhat Isik. The brand is known for its exploration of cultural identity, sustainability, and socio-political themes, drawing heavily from the founders’ personal backgrounds—Huseby is of Norwegian-Pakistani descent, while Isik has Turkish roots. This multicultural influence has shaped GmbH’s designs, which often reflect elements of immigrant and working-class experiences in Europe. GmbH’s aesthetic combines utilitarian, industrial styles with high-fashion sensibility. The German label frequently uses upcycled and eco-friendly materials, emphasising sustainability as a core value. GmbH often features tailored outerwear, sportswear-inspired pieces, and architectural cuts, incorporating references to club culture and Berlin’s underground scene.

      The brand also engages in broader cultural conversations, addressing topics such as identity politics, inclusivity, and the experiences of marginalised communities. GmbH has gained recognition for its unique voice in the fashion world and its ability to merge fashion with activism, making it one of the more progressive and thought-provoking brands in the contemporary fashion landscape.

      What is “German Design”?

      Jil Sander

      The concept of “German Design” transcends mere aesthetics; it encompasses a philosophy of precision, functionality, and innovation that successfully balances artistic expression with commercial viability. From Thomas Meyer’s meticulously tailored suits to Philipp Plein’s audacious embellishments, German-born designers have left an indelible mark across the fashion spectrum. Whether embracing minimalism or maximalism, their work illustrates the versatility and richness of German design. This legacy continues to inspire new generations, ensuring Germany remains a dynamic force in the fashion world.

        N.Y. Assemblyman Introduces ‘Peanut’s Law,’ Says Investigation Request Ignored

        TMZ.com

        Peanut the Squirrel’s story hit hard for one New York State Assemblyman, who’s now pushing for a law to stop future animal heartbreaks like the one that befell the social media star — and he says a request for an investigation is falling on deaf ears.

        Jake Blumencranz, repping Assembly District 15 on Long Island, has drafted “Peanut’s Law: The Humane Animal Protection Act,” which would impose a 72-hour wait before euthanizing any sanctuary animal. He tells TMZ the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and Governor Kathy Hochul have been radio silent about an investigation into the matter so far.

        Peanut the Squirrel

        Blumencranz, a big-time animal advocate, says all he’s heard from authorities is that DEC officials were just following the rules when they seized Peanut from P’nuts Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary. And, that’s exactly why he’s pushing for change — because current protocols feel way too extreme and lack compassion for the animals involved.

        Blumencranz’s proposal includes setting up an emergency appeal process so sanctuary operators can contest decisions about their animals. Plus, it would ensure that any animal sanctuary with a tax ID gets recognized as a legit facility with the right to humane due process.

        TMZ.com

        He explains these changes would let people step in if their animals are seized, giving them a chance to get due process and fight back against any unfair treatment.

        Another state politician — Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn, the Majority Whip in the New York State Assembly — tells TMZ that while she’s an ardent animal-rights advocate and sympathizes with Peanut’s plight, she believes euthanizing Peanut was the only option, since the N.Y. State Dept. of Environmental Conservation’s investigation revealed the squirrel bit someone.

        Jake Blumencranz says the whole episode, which he calls a “tragedy,” is classic New York — going all out with SWAT teams to seize a squirrel as crime continues in New York City. He thinks the state’s priorities need a serious reshuffle, suggesting animals could just be rehomed instead of facing drastic euthanasia.

        Marc Jacobs Sets His Sights on Chanel’s Creative Director Role

        Marc Jacobs Sets His Sights on Chanel’s Creative Director Role

        In what’s been called the era of ‘musical chairs’ in fashion, the industry is witnessing an unprecedented shuffle of creative directors at fashion’s top luxury maisons. It feels as if barely a week goes by without hearing about yet another departure, new appointment, or a swirl of speculative rumours.

        This year has already been marked by significant shake-ups: Hedi Slimane stepped down from Celine, Kim Jones exited Fendi, Sarah Burton made the leap from Alexander McQueen to Givenchy, Alessandro Michele headed to Valentino, and Haider Ackermann succeeded Peter Hawkings after just a year at Tom Ford.

        However, one of the biggest jolts to the fashion landscape was the abrupt departure of Virginie Viard from Chanel in June. At the time, the renowned French label assured that her successor would be named “in due course,” yet over five months later, the coveted position remains unfilled.

        As group chats continue to light up with theories about who could possibly step up to the throne, there is one name that is repeatedly thrown around: Marc Jacobs. And as it turns out, he’s very interested in the gig. “There’s only one job I want,” the designer said this week in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, “and I haven’t been asked to do it.”

        Jacobs, 61, also admitted he had attempted to grease the wheels by enlisting his good friend Sofia Coppola, who works closely with Chanel, to put in a good word on his behalf.

        “Unfortunately, I’m not in charge”, Coppola told the magazine, adding that it would be a “dream” to see Jacobs become the next creative director—a sentiment shared by many thanks to the designer’s flair for theatrics and tasteful provocation that fans have compared to Karl Lagerfeld, who triumphantly steered Chanel from 1983 until his death in 2019.

        It’s unclear whether the business would already have approached viable candidates they were interested in or if more time would be needed. If Jacobs were to nab fashion’s most coveted role, it would be the first time an American has held the position at the French house.

        Viard stepped down as creative director for Chanel after 30 years at the house—five as its artistic director following the passing of Lagerfeld, with whom she worked very closely. No official reason was provided for her departure, but the Maison acknowledged her contributions to a rich chapter in its legacy.

        “Chanel confirms the departure of Virginie Viard after a rich collaboration of five years as artistic director of fashion collections, during which she was able to renew the codes of the house while respecting the creative heritage of Chanel, and almost thirty years within the house,” read a statement shared with Vogue Business. “A new creative organisation will be announced in due course. Chanel would like to thank Virginie Viard for her remarkable contribution to Chanel’s fashion, creativity and vitality.”

        Jason Kelce Apologizes for Breaking Phone of Homophobic Moron

          Jason Kelce Apologizes for Breaking Phone of Homophobic Moron

          Jason Kelce has addressed the recent altercation between him and a so-called football fan who called his brother Travis Kelce in a homophobic manner last week.

          “I’m not happy with anything that took place. I’m not proud of it,” the retired Philadelphia Eagles center said at the outset of Monday Night Countdown on ESPN.

          “Within a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate and I don’t think that’s a productive thing. I don’t think it leads to discourse.”

          Here is some background:

          On November 2, Jason was walking outside of Penn State University’s Beaver Stadium when a man started to heckle him in regard to Travis’ relationship with Taylor Swift.

          “Kelce,” this idiot yelled out. “How does it feel that your brother is a fagg-t for dating Taylor Swift?”

          Because this is the Internet and cell phone age, the question was caught on camera — as was Jason’s response, which was to smash the man’s phone on the ground and then walk away with it in his hand.

          “I don’t think that it leads to discourse and it’s the right way to go about things,” Kelce explained on air this evening.

          “In that moment, I fell down to a level that I shouldn’t have. So, I think the bottom line is, I try to live my life by the golden rule — it’s what I’ve always been taught — I try to treat people with common decency and respect, and I’m going to keep doing that moving forward, even though I fell short this week.

          “I’m going to do that moving forward.”

          We can’t exactly condone breaking another person’s property, we suppose.

          But we don’t condone the language used by this moron who got in Jason’s face, either.

          This latest encounter, meanwhile, wasn’t the first time Jason Kelce has experienced a tense fan interaction.

          In May, he and wife Kylie Kelce — with whom he shares kids Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 20 months — were berated by a woman in a New Jersey parking lot who badgered the couple for a photo.

          In videos that went viral at the time, the woman could be heard telling Jason and Kylie that they “will never be allowed in this town again,” prompting Kylie to tell her:

          “I can smell the alcohol on your breath. You’re embarrassing yourself.”

          The woman eventually apologized and thanked the Kelces for understanding.

          “In a heated moment, I said things that were out of character for me and that I regret, and for that, I am sorry,” she told WPVI in a May statement.

          “My anger, and my actions, are not who I am, and certainly not indicative of the welcoming community of Margate. As an adult and proud member of my community, I should have recognized and respected their right to privacy from the onset.”
