Shiba Inu Price Prediction: SHIB Will Fly Past $0.5 But This Cheap Altcoin Will Rally 70,000% First

The recent predictions concerning the Shiba Inu price have excited SHIB holders. This is because market analysts are foreseeing the Shiba Inu price to rise past $0.5. However, they have identified another altcoin with even better prospects—WallitlQ (WLTQ). The WallitIQ (WLTQ) altcoin has been predicted to rally by 70,000% in the next few days— a quicker timeline compared to the Shiba Inu price.

Shiba Inu Price Prediction: SHIB To Break Past $0.5

The Shiba Inu price has achieved quite a milestone since its inception; its massive surge in 2021 is noteworthy. However, market sentiments have since affected the token, and it has considerably dropped over time.

The Shiba Inu price is set to see a huge value increase due to a couple of factors. The token is one that is driven by market sentiments. Hence, the recent crypto market recovery following the just concluded US elections has considerably affected activities in the SHIB market, which will, in return, push the Shiba Inu price.

Undoubtedly, the Shiba Inu price could see a move from its current value of $0.00002385. Market analysts are predicting slow but consistent growth that will lead to the Shiba Inu price breaking past $0.5.

The only roadblock to consider is that these factors are subject to change, especially for a long-term price point. The growth of the Shiba Inu price could be hindered by market volatility in the long run. This is where the new reliable altcoin, WallitIQ (WLTQ), comes in, offering investors huge returns within a short period.

Shiba Inu Price Prediction: SHIB Will Fly Past $0.5 But This Cheap Altcoin Will Rally 70,000% First

WallitIQ (WLTQ) Offers Investors A Better Alternative With Its 70,000% Rally

The WallitIQ (WLTQ) altcoin is selling at a price of $0.0171 in its ongoing presale. This altcoin has been incredibly inexpensive to enable investors from all economic backgrounds to have a chance to buy the token. This cheap rate of the WallitIQ (WLTQ) altcoin is of huge benefit to crypto whales and investors, as it promises them a 70,000% return potential as demand for its token soars.

The WLTQ altcoin has an accompanying crypto wallet which highlights an inventive combination of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). This crypto wallet has caught a lot of attention for its user-friendly, hitch-free, and secure interface.

The WallitIQ (WLTQ) wallet has the most unique features and DeFi solutions a crypto wallet has ever offered. The crypto wallet is highlighted for its DeFi simplified nature, offering a platform for users at all experience levels. This makes a very conducive platform for beginners or more experienced crypto traders to navigate without being burdened by technicalities.

The intuitive interface is also a unique and eye-catching feature of the WallitIQ (WLTQ) crypto wallet. The interface is set to be fully customizable to meet individual preferences and needs. It has a dashboard that highlights the most relevant required information, such as charts, price updates or portfolio summaries. This will facilitate more efficient asset management on the platform.

Also, the smart suggestions feature, notably, offers real-time recommendations to users of the WallitIQ (WLTQ) crypto wallet. The crypto wallet studies user activity as well as market trends and conditions. Then, it predicts the best time to execute transactions and also helps identify viable opportunities in the crypto market.

These next-generation features attached to the WallitIQ (WLTQ) altcoin have increased its popularity in the crypto space. With the buzz currently surrounding it, undoubtedly, once it is listed on major exchanges, it will spike and possibly rally as high as the predicted 70,000%.

Conclusion

The Shiba Inu price has considerable potential, but indicators show that the WallitIQ (WLTQ) altcoin has even better potential. As a result, investors are more likely to record higher returns if they diversify their portfolio to accommodate the WallitIQ (WLTQ) altcoin. This can be done by purchasing WLTQ during its ongoing presale at its current inexpensive rate of $0.0171 before it spikes.

Cardi B Said She’ll Do This If Teachers Say Her Kids Are Bad!

Cardi B Said She’ll Do This If Teachers Say Her Kids Are Bad!

Rap superstar Cardi B isn’t afraid of keeping her kids in line by any means necessary.

The Grammy-winning entertainer has never shied from telling the world how important motherhood is to her. Now, the “Bodak Yellow” performer is putting her foot down, telling her kids that she better hear good things about them during their upcoming parent-teacher conferences – or else.

Cardi B Is “The Type Of Mom” Who Will Break Her Kids’ iPads And Phones, If Necessary

Reports from TMZ state that the Bronx-born musician declared her stance during an Instagram Live on Thursday, telling viewers she had no problems taking her kids’ iPads and phones away if their teachers gave her any bad news.

“On my way to parent-teacher conferences. I better hear some good sh-t or else,” she warned.

“iPads will be broken, phones will be thrown in the garbage, TVs will be disconnected, [and] cables will be turned off.”

“I am not playing,” she continued. “I am that type of mom.”

After a beat, Cardi admitted that she was just “kidding.”

“I won’t do all of that, but I hope I hear some good sh-t,” she said.

Cardi shares three kids with fellow rapper Offset: 6-year-old daughter Kulture, 3-year-old son Wave, and a third child, another girl, born this September, as reported by E! News.

An Incident Involving Child Protective Services Proves Cardi B Takes Motherhood Seriously

Though clearly joking in her Instagram Live, Cardi B has shown in the past just how serious she is when it comes to being a mother of three young children.

Back in October, the 32-year-old responded with rage after a prankster called Child Protective Services to her home in the middle of the night with allegations that she was abusing her children.

Billboard notes that the singer appeared to be in the hospital at the time of the incident, but had more than enough strength to let the perpetrator know that she would get to the bottom of the situation.

“Child Protective Services [came] my gated mansion at 11 p.m. while my children [were] sleeping, because there [was] an anonymous call that my kids have been getting abused and beaten,” she relayed.

    Article continues below advertisement

“Are you f–king dumb?,” Cardi asked. “This is when the pranks start getting too far – when you a-sholes think it’s funny.”

After explaining that she nor Offset ever abused their children (“We take very great care of our kids”), she claimed she would be looking into legal action to uncover who made the call – but also insinuated that the prankster better hope she didn’t find them first.

“If you’re a boy, my baby father is gonna beat you the f–ck up,” she threatened. “If you’re a woman, me and [my sister] Hennessy are gonna beat you the f–ck up, because you playing with my mother-cking kids.”

Cardi B Keeps It Clean With Her Children, Despite Being A ‘Sexual’ Rap Star

In a more lighthearted moment, a viral video of Cardi quickly muting her 2021 raunchy hit, “WAP,” with Megan Thee Stallion, also showed fans that she’s raising her children with the utmost care.

In the clip, taken from another Instagram Live session covered by Billboard that January, Cardi can be seen dancing to the song at her home while enjoying a glass of wine. As her verse begins, a young Kulture can be seen walking into the living room to be near her mom.

Once Cardi notices she’s no longer alone, she quickly cuts the song off and pretends to simply be enjoying her drink.

“No, no, no, no,” she yelps, before lifting the glass to her lips.

Cardi later defended her decision not to let little Kulture, then only 2-years-old, overhear her no. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit.

    Article continues below advertisement

“I don’t make music for kids. I make music for adults,” she told naysayers who claimed she had an “agenda.”

“Parents are responsible [for] what their children listen to or see,” Cardi continued. “I’m a very sexual person, but not around my child – just like every other parent should be.”

Cardi B Isn’t Sharing Her Youngest Daughter’s Name Publicly Just Yet – At Least, Not All Of It

Earlier this month, Cardi showed off a bit of bling that honored her three kids, including her youngest daughter.

In the reposted clip, per PEOPLE, the rap star can be seen wearing several diamond bracelets by famed jeweler Elliot Eliantte. On each bracelet, one of her kids’ names can be seen – Kulture on top, Wave in the middle, and a third that she partially covers with her thumb, though the letter “BL” appear to be close together.

“Ya’ll can’t see my [youngest] daughter’s name yet,” she told the camera, “So, I gotta hide the last one. Just know the whole f-cking wrist is Eliantte, b-tch.”

She then twists her arm around for a moment, and two more letters can be viewed: “OM.”

    Article continues below advertisement

With these clues, along with Cardi noting her daughter’s birth back in September with flower emojis, fans of the performer came up with two guesses – Bloom or Blossom.

Cardi B May Be A Proud Mom, But She Hasn’t Forgotten Her Rap Career – Or Her Heart

    MEGA

Though she’s been rather busy being a single mother – she and Offset are currently separated – Cardi hasn’t forgotten the talent that brought her fame and accolades.

After months of speculation and occasional teases, she promised fans just recently that her long-awaited following to 2016’s Invasion of Privacy would finally be coming, along with a new business venture, sometime in 2025.

“I have so much things coming next year,” she revealed in another Instagram Live, covered by Billboard. “My album will be out. My secret businesses will be out, [and] hopefully,” she continued, “next year, I get a little boyfriend.”

Why Gene Hackman Disappeared From Hollywood – SlashFilm

Why Gene Hackman Disappeared From Hollywood – SlashFilm

We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Between his big-screen acting debut in Robert Rossen’s vastly underrated “Lilith” and his swan song “Welcome to Mooseport,” Gene Hackman had a reputation for being a prolific and, at times, nowhere-near-choosy-enough actor given his considerable talents. But when you look over that 40-year career, you don’t see an egregious number of turkeys. The Dan Aykroyd buddy-cop comedy “Loose Cannons” or his third go-round as Lex Luthor in “Superman IV: The Quest for Peace” are probably the twin nadirs of his career, but mostly Hackman had a propensity to make many mediocre movies watchable. He was the reason you’d find yourself halfway through Nicholas Meyer’s ho-hum spy thriller “Company Business” without any real complaints. Could it be better? Absolutely. But it had Hackman.

The movies — great, average, or garbage — haven’t had Hackman since 2004, which never ceases to stink. Now 94, there’s a good chance he would have retired in the 2020s if not before, but his former New York City roommates Dustin Hoffman and Robert Duvall are still plugging away. As long as he’s here, those of us who grew up knowing that every year or so there’d be at least one good Hackman flick hitting theaters can’t shake the hope that he’ll quietly step out of retirement for one blessed curtain call.

While you can never say never, the more you examine the reasons for Hackman’s exit, the more resolute you can be in the knowledge that his acting days are over — unless you can talk your way into his Key West estate. Let’s take a look back at his extraordinary career, and why he chose to call it a day when he did.

      Gene Hackman’s rise and boil

Hackman began studying acting at the Pasadena Playhouse in 1956, which is where he met Hoffman. Neither performer was deemed worthy of success by their instructors and classmates, but a little over a decade later, both men were either full-fledged stars — like Hoffman via Mike Nichols’ “The Graduate” — or well on their way, like Hackman after his role as Buck Barrow, the hell-raising brother of Warren Beatty’s Clyde Barrow in “Bonnie and Clyde.”

Hackman’s journey toward stardom continued with his supporting turn as the U.S. Men’s ski team coach Eugene Claire in Michael Ritchie’s stylish sports drama “Downhill Racer,” and reached the station with William Friedkin’s “The French Connection.” Hackman’s portrayal of hard-charging NYPD detective Popeye Doyle is a problematic powder keg that rattles to this day. It earned him his first Academy Award (for Best Actor), and completely altered the trajectory of his career. Hackman wasn’t prone to the Method noodling of his American acting peers (including Hoffman); there was a bracing insistence to his performance, a yank-you-by-the-lapels violence that had you worrying for the welfare of everyone who came into contact with him.

This threat coursed through all of Hackman’s work going forward. He seemed like a bad man, and his characters were rarely comfortable with letting that kettle come to a boil.

Gene Hackman owned the 1970s and enlivened the 1980s

There was absolutely a comfortable violence to the butcher Mary Ann in Ritchie’s “Prime Target” and Sgt. Leo Holland in Bill L. Norton’s “Cisco Pike.” These films were Hackman in nasty mode, the pissed-off prelude to the cartoon malevolence of Lex Luthor in Richard Donner’s “Superman.”

Before Hackman got to supervillainy, he found dark shades of gray in three of his most fascinating characters: the itinerant Max Millan in “Scarecrow,” snooper Harry Caul in Francis Ford’s Coppola’s “The Conversation,” and private dick Harry Moseby in Arthur Penn’s “Night Moves.” These are men who don’t do well with the outside world; they’re screw-ups or defectives either tilting at windmills, or, in the case of Max, tending to the welfare of a doomed manchild.

Hackman’s 1970s were stunning. There were trip-ups due to his frequent employment, but even a misfire like Stanley Donen’s “Lucky Lady” had merit. The 1980s were not so kind to Hackman, but this is due to his kinds of filmmakers, the lions of New Hollywood, getting cowed by the newly corporatized studios. Hackman was better suited to succeed in this climate than many of his 1930s-born peers if only because he could blend into just about any kind of movie. He didn’t need to devour; he just needed to eat his fair share, and move on to the next meal. And so, despite the gulf in terms of subject matter, there really isn’t much difference between “Uncommon Valor,” “Hoosiers,” and “Mississippi Burning.” He’s a gruff leader of men who believes in the toughest of love. It ain’t deep, but it sure is pleasing.

How Gene Hackman’s 1990s led to his 2004 retirement

The 1990s were more of the same, to a degree. Hackman was fine dispensing last-nerve affection to Meryl Streep’s addict actor in Nichols’ “Postcards from the Edge,” and at the very least engaged in Peter Hyams’ unnecessary remake of Richard Fleischer’s perfect “The Narrow Margin.” His bravura turn for the decade arrived early in Clint Eastwood’s “Unforgiven,” where he played the sadistic and ultimately unlucky sheriff Little Bill Daggett. Hackman’s the best thing in Sydney Pollack’s beyond bloated adaptation of John Grisham’s legal thriller “The Firm,” and suitably evil as a dedicated gunfighter in Sam Raimi’s “The Quick and the Dead.” But don’t discount his conservative politician forced into drag in Nichols’ “The Birdcage,” nor his Caul-recall in Tony Scott’s smashing “Enemy of the State.”

As for the 2000s, if he had to go out on one role prior to his (to be kind) game performance in “Welcome to Mooseport,” the part would’ve surely been the title patriarch in Wes Anderson’s “The Royal Tenenbaums.” He was totally engaged in David Mamet’s twisty thriller “Heist” and David Mirkin’s rambunctious “Heartbreakers” opposite Sigourney Weaver, but the sizzle was starting to die out. After “Welcome to Mooseport,” Hackman was done with acting. And that’s because he listened to his body.

      Why Gene Hackman retired

In 2009, the good folks at Empire landed a rare post-retirement interview with Hackman that serves as a moving and informative career retrospective. One of the most revealing moments in the chat found Hackman bluntly explaining why hung it up in 2004. “The straw that broke the camel’s back was actually a stress test that I took in New York,” said the two-time Academy Award-winning actor. “The doctor advised me that my heart wasn’t in the kind of shape that I should be putting it under any stress.”

In 2011, Hackman allowed that he could be persuaded to return to acting, but only under very specific conditions. As he told GQ, “If I could do it in my own house, maybe, without them disturbing anything and just one or two people.” No one’s figured out how to do that (it’s heartbreaking to note that the one director who might’ve convinced Hackman to give it a shot, Tony Scott, died far too soon in 2012), so we the screen has been Hackman-less for 20 years.

Gene Hackman’s retirement led to a second career as a novelist

Hackman has kept busy in his retirement. Aside from getting hit by a pickup truck in 2012 while he was riding his bike, he’s written five novels, which is a heckuva lot more than many working writers can say. Three of them (“Wake of the Perdido Star,” “Justice for None,” and “Escape from Andersonville”) are historical fictions penned with undersea archaeologist Daniel Lenihan, while the other two (the Western “Payback at Morning Peak” and the cop thriller “Pursuit”) were solo excursions.

Technically, he did come out of retirement to narrate the documentaries “The Unknown Flag Raiser of Iwo Jima” and “We, the Marines.” Just hearing that voice is a thrill. But the latter doc was released in 2017, which suggests Hackman is now good and retired, with zero exceptions. He owes us nothing. But selfishly, when you think about the instant credibility he could bring to a movie, you wonder what one scene in his Key West living room could add to the most mundane movie imaginable — i.e. one directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. On second thought, maybe being retired is better.

I’m A Celebrity accused of ‘fixing’ the show so Dean can avoid trials

I’m A Celebrity accused of ‘fixing’ the show so Dean can avoid trials

Fans of I’m A Celebrity have slammed the show as ‘fixed’ after Dean McCullough was chosen to go to the Junkyard with Reverend Richard Coles and Maura Higgins.

It came after Dean competed in his fourth trial alongside Danny Jones from McFly. Danny smashed it, finding almost all of the stars while Dean screamed and wailed about the nasties he was faced with. But at least he didn’t shout ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!’ this time!

Dean and Danny were up for the trial (Credit: ITV)

Dean goes to the Junkyard on I’m A Celebrity

Currently Maura and Richard are living in (relative) luxury, but the main campmates think they have living in squalor. In order to win a Junkyard buffet for everyone, Maura and Richard have to keep up the pretence when they see the other campers.

Tonight (Friday November 11) they had to pretend they’d tried the trial before Danny and Dean and that they had failed. They managed to convince the pair, who went on to win eight stars for camp.

But then Maura and Richard were tasked with picking one of them to move to the Junkyard with them. They choose Dean, who was not happy, but pretended he was fine.

Maura and Richard kept lying all the way there about how awful it was. But then they showed Dean what was really going on and he was thrilled! “You’ve got to be kidding me!”

Dean was very impressed with Maura and Richard’s acting skills and he told Maura: “The BAFTA is coming!”

The main camp were all concerned for Dean, but little did they know they didn’t need to be.

        Fans fury

Those watching at home were not at all impressed. They said it was ‘fixed’ by the producers for Dean to be chosen. After Danny’s performance in the trial, they felt he should have been the one to live in luxury.

Many also thought they wanted to make sure Dean was out of doing any other trials to stop the public voting for him.

“That was fixed for Dean to go to the Junkyard…Dean didn’t do [bleep] all Danny should’ve went… but I think it was fixed so Dean doesn’t get picked for the trial tomorrow,” said one.

Another agreed: “Dean going to the Junkyard screams fixed.”

“Really angry about Dean blatantly being given the easy life because he’s no good at Challenges, the public was choosing him for it,” said another followed by the hashtag ‘fixed’.

A fourth said: “Fixed. Dean going to the other camp just so the public don’t vote for him again and fail.”

“Oh they’ve fixed this so he doesn’t have to do anymore trials,” added one more.

Nicole Richie’s Holiday Outfit Advice Doesn’t Include Y2K Trends

Get into the holiday style spirit! When Nicole Richie dresses up for the holiday season, she loves to experiment with the latest trends, but you won’t catch her reprising any former looks from The Simple Life.

The designer told ET her tips for creating festive outfits while hosting an exclusive cocktail hour at REVOLVE’s Holiday Shop at The Grove in Los Angeles, California with House of Harlow 1960 and The Flamingo Estate on Nov. 21.

          BFA/Cody Marquez

“Fall and winter are my favorite seasons for dressing. I think it’s the time where I can be the most creative,” she explained.

As for how the actress does this: “I love wearing warm jewel tones and getting in with the holiday vibes. … I love the House of Harlow burgundy and hunter green leather jackets. They add a little bit of edge to holiday outfits that feel a little bit more dressy and conservative.”

Another way Richie, 43, amps up her get-ups is by piling on baubles.

“Jewelry always works to help add a little sparkle to the vibes and to your soul,” she noted.

          BFA/Cody Marquez

And while fans are looking forward to watching her reunion special with Paris Hilton, Paris and Nicole: The Encore, on Dec. 12 on Peacock, don’t expect to see Richie in her iconic nostalgic get-ups.

“[I would never wear] any of it 1732387843,” she spilled.

          ET

But, what Richie can always get behind is a thoughtful Christmas present.

“I would love pillows that have my dogs face on them this year. … I’ve never received a bad holiday gift. I think gift giving is a true act of love and I appreciate all.”

            1. Lisa suspects Matty as someone attacks Carla

Lisa tells Carla that she isn’t ready for a relationship. Back at the factory, Carla is horrified to see that someone has ransacked the place.

As she pulls out her phone, someone hits her over the head. She falls to the ground, unconscious. Later, Lisa sits at Carla’s side in the hospital, desperate for her to pull through.

Meanwhile, the police haul Matty in for questioning, but Alya gives a statement which corroborates his alibi. Later, when a smug Matty makes a dig about Becky’s death, Lisa is convinced of his guilt.

Outside, Logan and Matty spot Lisa watching them from her car. At the station, Alya shows Lisa and Kit a picture from her client – claiming that he’s a victim of police harassment. Lisa claims that she only bumped into them, but Kit suspects that she might be lying.

Meanwhile, Adam invites Alya to dinner, telling her that he’s missed her. And, as Roy and Ryan take Carla home from the hospital, she admits that she was hoping Lisa would have come with them.

Roy tells Lisa that it’s clear she and Carla like each other – and that she needs to build bridges. Will Lisa admit her feelings for Carla?

            2. Tragic news for Leanne

Nick invites Toyah to join him and Sam for tea in the flat so that Sam can get used to seeing them together before they break the news. He tells Toyah that he’s got a plan – they break the news to Leanne, then go on holiday while she processes it.

However, Toyah insists that they wait until after Oliver’s memorial and the trial. Leanne gives Toyah a rose bush and suggests that they plant it next to Oliver’s tree, in memory of Rose.

Later, Leanne sees the holiday booking on Nick’s laptop. As he prepares to come clean to Leanne, Nick’s plan is thrown into chaos when a police officer arrives – breaking the news that Leanne’s dad, Les, has died at work.

A shocked Leanne heads off to find Toyah, while Nick calls to warn her what has happened. As the sister hug, Leanne figures out that Toyah already knew.

Toyah tells her that Nick had already shared the news, leaving her confused. Nick claims that he’d called Toyah about the rota, and the news just slipped out.

Suspicious, Leanne opens Nick’s laptop and calls the hotel about his Tenerife booking. Has she figured everything out?

Coronation Street spoilers: 3. Chesney makes an enemy

Chesney pulls into the Frescho car park. As he does, a van driver steals his parking space. Fuming, Chesney blocks him in and leaves his car there, blocking the van in.

Later, as he surveys his damaged car, a van screeches past, almost knocking him over. He’s shocked to realise that it’s the same van from earlier.

Struggling to make ends meet and looking after the quads on his own, Chesney is stressed. When Bernie asks him about Les‘s death, he makes out that they weren’t all that close.

As Need For Speed turns 30, the devs currently running the series say the biggest challenge new entries face is “literally the age of the franchise”

“I remember going to what was probably the local video game shop or computer shop, and me and my friends saw it on the 3DO, and we were like ‘what’s this?’, we all jumped on it, and you felt badass,” current Need For Speed producer Patrick Honnoraty says. “Being able to drive it, being chased by the cops, there wasn’t an experience that was really like it at the time.”

Since the release of that game – The Need for Speed or Road and Track presents: The Need For Speed if you want to stick to what’s on the box art – in 1994, the racing genre has evolved to a place no one could really have predicted back then. Not least me, as I write this, given I’d not be born for another half a decade or so.

But Need For Speed has stuck around, and next month, it hits the milestone of turning 30 years old. That’s 30 years of changing and evolving in different ways, some inevitably more well-received by players than others, a sentiment that isn’t lost on the current and former NFS developers who spoke at a recent 30th anniversary roundtable attended by VG247.

“The trajectory has been bumpy actually, in some cases,” Honnoraty acknowledges, “but what’s happened and I think what’s been most important is that if you think about the first inception of what The Need For Speed was, it was really accessible, really easy.”

He continues that in his estimation, Need For Speed’s “really tried to stay true to that formula” established by the original. “It’s still accessible today, a lot of car racing games are not so easily accessible, so people still have the option to jump into a Need For Speed game.” Another important factor in the devs’ eyes is staying relevant to the ever-changing trends of car culture, with Honnoraty saying: “It’s [vehicle artists like] Bryn [Alban] and Frankie [Yip]’s job all the time to be looking at what’s happening, and upcoming trends, and trying to include that back into the game.

“I’d say in [Need For Speed’s] trajectory of its ups and downs, it’s probably been at some of its worst times when those things have been removed actually,” he adds, “When customisation has not found its way into the priorities that we’ve set, and it’s been removed from the game, I think the game’s suffered in those times when we had that.”

That’s the thing though, as the series has grown and changed over time – from those earliest joyrides to the noughties street racing romps of Underground and Most Wanted, then on to trying some different stuff with games like Prostreet, The Run and the Shifts, before moving into its latest era that’s seen development move from Criterion to Ghost Games and then back to Criterion – it’s become a lot of things in the eyes of an awful lot of players. So where does that leave it in November 2024?

“I think today the biggest challenge we face is literally the age of the franchise, and what it’s been,” Honnoraty says. “It’s been so many different things and appeals to so many different people that we even see the debates between players [as to] which is the best game, and why is it the best game.

“I’ll give you an example. When we had Need For Speed Payback at EA Play, we had people on the booth, people would jump [in] and they would play the highway heist. They would come off the booth and I’d be like ‘How was it?’, and they’d be like ‘Oh man, that reminds me of Most Wanted, that was amazing’ and then [other] people would come up and go ‘Oh man, that reminded me of Underground, it was so good’. I’m like ‘How? What? They’re totally different!’

“So, I think it’s just people carry with them the feeling that they had when they played those games. Some of them skipped ones and then came back for others. I think that’s the hardest thing today, is honestly reconciling what Need For Speed means to players, and you’ve seen it – when we go in one direction with something [and] it doesn’t quite work, it doesn’t appeal to certain sorts of players, and we go in another direction. It’s a real thing that we have to tackle, day-in, day-out. John [Stanley, Criterion senior creative director] and I work with it constantly,” Honnoraty concludes, joking: “We think we’ve nearly cracked it.”

Have they cracked it? Well, that probably depends on what you want from an NFS game. | Image credit: EA

“It means so much to so many different people and everybody’s got a different opinion as to what a good Need For Speed is,” adds vehicle art director Bryn Alban. “So, trying to appease everybody at all times is super difficult, even down to the nitty-gritty details of what customisation we put on our cars. It’s so divisive a subject for our players that it’s almost impossible for us to get it 100% right all the time.”

While listening to that spread of vocal and passionate fan viewpoints and opinions is clearly important for developers working on the series, long-time NFS developer, Justin Wiebe – currently a studio design director at Battlefield studio Ripple Effect – says it’s not just a case of trying to blindly make something that the pleases every potential player with each entry. Especially with a series that for a while had annual – or near annual – releases.

“I think for me, one of the largest learnings and challenges is that if you try to make something for everyone, what you wind up doing is watering it down and making something for nobody in particular,” he says, “So, you really do have to be ruthless with your vision and say ‘We are going to take this component, this part of what people love about Need For Speed and we’re going to bring it to the next level’.

“Then [it’s about] what does that mean, and we’re looking, we know that other people are going to miss X, Y and Z, because that’s what Need For Speed is for them. So, are we ok with that? How do we massage it? How do we manage the message for what this particular Need For Speed is gonna be about? I’ll go back to my experience on Prostreet, which, as we say, talk about taking risks – let’s take Need For Speed off the streets, out of the open world, let’s make it sanctioned on racetracks in professional sporting events, and say ‘This is your Need For Speed’.

“People are like ‘What about the story, what about the cops, what about this?’ It’s like ‘Yes, we understand those aren’t there, but we made a decision, we want to go big, we want to bring car culture to sanctioned racing tracks, and that was the vision for this year’s Need For Speed’. That’s the hardest thing, is to make these decisions that we know are going to be polarising for players, but that we believe is best for that particular product in that moment in time.”

Naturally, this is something the most recent entries in the series – and the ones that’ll inevitably follow them as it accelerates on into the next 30 years – continue to grapple with in the quest to keep on evolving what a Need For Speed game can be.

“Even in my time recently,” Honnoraty says, “We did a kind of version of Hot Pursuit [with] Rivals, we then changed and we kinda went back to a re-imagining of what would Underground look like today, bringing back customisation, we even then looked at focusing on a very much more action-oriented game [with Payback].

“Then [we] moulded some of those things together to create something like Heat, brough in Heat’s idea of risk [vs] reward and doubled down on it for Unbound to create the calendar system. So, it’s always re-inventing, always trying to pick the ideas that make what you do with these vehicles interesting. Something that’s slightly beyond the racing, but the racing is always still at the core of what they are.

“I think that’s what we’ve done, for good and for bad, because those things [being] risks, they don’t always work and they don’t always resonate with players, but you’ll guarantee we will always be doing something different.”
