Justin Baldoni has been stripped of the women’s advocacy award he took home earlier this month following the disturbing sexual harassment lawsuit that was brought against him by Blake Lively.
It’s been a downward spiral for the actor, who has also been dropped by his agency, WME, compared to the “Gossip Girl” star, who has garnered much support since she filed her lawsuit.
Justin Baldoni’s lawyers have since slammed Blake Lively’s claim, alleging that she caused issues while filming “It Ends With Us.”

Justin Baldoni Loses Women’s Advocacy Award
MEGA
Baldoni continues to suffer a hit to his image after Blake Lively filed an explosive sexual harassment lawsuit against him.
Latest amongst his casualties is the loss of a prestigious award he won for his courageous work advocating for women and girls.
The 40-year-old actor took home the Voices of Solidarity Award from Vital Voices in honor of all females on December 9 but has had the honor rescinded following Lively’s sexual harassment lawsuit, per TMZ.
In a statement posted Monday to its website, the Voices of Solidarity Award from Viral Voices expressed its support for Lively and called the allegations against the actor “disturbing” and “abhorrent.”
They then noted that they had contacted Baldoni to inform him of their decision to revoke his award.

Blake Lively Accused The Actor Of Sexual Harassment
MEGA
Lively declared legal war against her “It Ends With Us” co-star last Friday when she alleged in a 10-claim complaint that he harassed her sexually on the set of “It Ends With Us,” as well as also mastermind a “coordinated effort to destroy her reputation.”
In her filing, the “Gossip Girl” star claimed that Baldoni “often” referred to women in the workplace as “sexy.”
According to People Magazine, Lively narrated a particular incident where he “pressured” her to remove her coat to reveal her onesie even as it was partially unzipped and showing her bra.
She noted that the “Five Feet Apart” actor told her he thought she looked “sexy” in a tone that made her feel “ogled and exposed.”

Lively also claimed that Baldoni “routinely degraded” her by “finding back-channel ways of criticizing her body and weight.”
She narrated an instance where he called her trainer behind her back less than 4 months after she gave birth to her fourth child, implying that he “wanted her to lose weight in two weeks.”

Justin Baldoni Allegedly Cried Over Reports That Blake Lively ‘Looked Old’ For Her Role
MEGA
Lively’s lawsuit also included claims that Baldoni “cried in [her] dressing room” over social media commentary that she “looked old” in her “It Ends with Us” role.
The documents stated that while Baldoni “was objectifying Ms. Lively as a sex object,” he also “went out of his way to message criticisms of her age and weight.”
The actress expressed dissatisfaction as she said he “made the rest of the cast and crew wait for hours” on the second day of filming “while he cried in Ms. Lively’s dressing room, claiming social media commentators were saying that Ms. Lively looked old and unattractive based on paparazzi photos from the set.”
“She tried to reassure him that she should look authentic in the scenes depicted in the photos, which were just after her character had been abused by her fictional husband, rather than ‘hot,'” the document alleged, claiming Baldoni “appeared focused on Ms. Lively’s sexual appeal above all else.”
“His lengthy outburst caused a delay in shooting, forcing an emotional scene to be shot haphazardly,” the statement read.

Justin Baldoni’s Lawyers Fire Back At The Actress’s Lawsuit
MEGA
Following her complaints, Lively issued a statement to the New York Times, saying, “I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted.”
However, according to TMZ, Baldoni and his lawyer, Bryan Freedman, have denied the allegations she brought against him, calling her “actions, interviews, and marketing during the promotional tour distasteful.”
Freedman also latched out at Lively’s lawsuit, tagging it an attempt on her part to “fix her negative reputation,” adding that the claims are “false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt.”
Freedman further accused the actress of causing problems on set, “threatening to not show up to set, threatening to not promote the film, ultimately leading to its demise during release.”

The Co-Stars’ Feud Was Apparent During The Films Promo Run
MEGA
Fans quickly speculated that there was tension between Lively and Baldoni after the duo did not pose for pictures together at the world premiere of their movie despite being the lead stars.
Baldoni was also not seen in any photographs with the other cast members, unlike Lively, who shared several snaps with her co-stars.
The rumors gained further momentum when Lively attended premieres in London and Copenhagen while Baldoni remained in New York for press interviews.
There has also been speculation regarding the stars’ social media activity. Many observe that Baldoni follows both Colleen Hoover, the author of the book the film is based on, and Lively, but neither of them follows him back.
After two years, Taylor Swift’s historic Eras Tour has finally come to an end. While the tour was filled with memorable moments, one aspect that many fans and haters couldn’t shake off was Taylor’s frequent private jet usage.
Between an international concert tour and catching her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s NFL games, there’s plenty of reason that Taylor would need easy air travel.
Now that her tour is done, some viewers are calculating just how much the “All Too Well” singer was flying throughout the year. Plus, they’re tracking the environmental impact of all the jet fuel.

Now that we’ve made the friendship bracelets, taken the moment and tasted it, keep reading to learn more about Taylor Swift’s private jet.
What Type Of Private Jet Does She Have?
Taylor’s private jet is a Dassault Falcon 7X, which is reportedly excellent for both domestic and international flights. The jet reportedly costs about $54 million and over $3 million per year to operate, according to GlobeAir.
The plane comfortably holds about 16 people, and she has customized the interior with plush seats, an entertainment system, and a dining area.

Chalk it up to the Streisand Effect, but many fans became aware of Taylor’s frequent flights from the Taylor Swift Jets (Tracking) account on X (formerly Twitter).
The social media account, which has almost 100,000 followers, regularly shares flight maps for Taylor’s trips. It also includes approximate flight times, jet fuel used, cost of jet fuel, and carbon emissions.
In December 2023, Taylor’s lawyers sent Jack Sweeney, who runs the account, a cease-and-desist letter. They warned that it could aid stalkers in finding out where the popstar is at any given time, per CBS News.
Jack’s lawyers responded to the lawsuit by noting that the information was publicly available, and it was classified as protected speech. The account claims that the information is only shared 24 hours after the flights.

In February 2024, Jack posted his response to the lawsuit and quoted Taylor’s song in a tweet. “Look What You Made Me Do,” he wrote. Jack also shares Elon Musk’s private jet usage and faced a similar legal threat from him.
How Have Environmentalists Reacted to Taylor Swift’s Private Jet Usage?

Many environmental activists believe that Taylor needs to calm down on the private flights. The singer has reportedly bought double the amount of carbon credits needed to cover her tour, according to GlobeAir.
Still, some people have criticized the carbon credits response. Northeastern University Political Thought Professor Callum Barrell told Northeastern Global News that he finds that approach to be “lazy.”
“The fact that she is kind of washing her hands of it by saying, ‘Well, I’ve got carbon credits — that’s fine.’ You basically pay extra for emitting all of this carbon and I think that is greenwashing and lazy,” he said.
In June 2024, climate activists Just Stop Oil sent Taylor a message by spray painting a jet that was parked in the same facility she uses, per DW. Police later confirmed that the singer’s plane was not there though.
Besides activists, Taylor’s jet usage has also sparked a debate within the Swiftie community. Scroll through fan groups on Reddit, and there are tons of discussions about her flight usage.
While many people feel that she overuses her private jet, some also note that Taylor’s level of fame would make normal air travel difficult.

The Latest Details On Her Private Jet
Now that the Eras Tour has wrapped, people are looking into how much Taylor has been flying in 2024. The “Anti-Hero” singer reportedly logged 225 flight hours this year, according to Quartz.
The outlet also reported that Taylor’s plane used over 80,000 gallons of jet fuel and led to 768 metric tons of carbon emissions.
It’s not clear what the future has in store for Taylor’s private jet usage, but now that the Eras Tour is done, she won’t need to fly to various cities to perform on a regular basis.
While the crypto market’s latest bull run has put extra cash in industry players’ pockets, Ol’ Saint Nick is preparing to put coal in some of their stockings.
From controversial founders to outright scammers, several key figures in crypto landed themselves on Santa’s “Naughty List” in 2024.
Here are Decrypt’s picks for the seven naughtiest in crypto this year:
Hawk Tuah Girl (Hailey Welch)
Viral internet star Hailey Welch, aka the “Hawk Tuah” Girl was catapulted into shitcoin superstardom earlier this month when she announced the launch of her HAWK meme coin.
But Welch’s crypto debut went sideways shortly after the HAWK launch, with crypto investors pointing out that the token sale had all the major marks of an insider scam.
Hawk-eyed traders pointed out that Welch’s team owned between 80-90% of HAWK’s supply on launch day, potentially allowing them to manipulate the price of the token.
Welch’s HAWK token had a $490 million market cap shortly after it debuted in the first week of December. However, its price quickly plummeted to less than 5% of its initial value within a few hours of its launch.
A law firm has sued her business partners over the collapse, and she emerged from a two-week social media blackout soon thereafter—to say she’s working with the lawyers, and claim she wasn’t responsible for the mess.
Ryan Selkis
Messari founder Ryan Selkis courted controversy and stirred up drama within the crypto community in 2024.
From excoriating his political adversaries to evoking another U.S. civil war, Selkis’ commentary leading up to the U.S. 2024 presidential election flew in the face of others’ efforts to cultivate a better public image for the maturing digital assets industry.
His spicy rhetoric on X (formerly known as Twitter) led to his departure from Messari when things apparently got too hot for his colleagues. Selkis ultimately got what he wanted with Donald Trump’s reelection, but some of his tactics in encouraging that shift landed him squarely on Santa’s naughty list this year.
Jonathan and Tanner Adam
Jonathan and Tanner Adam may not be household names, but their alleged crimes are certainly on Santa’s radar—and the SEC’s, too.
The pair allegedly led a crypto-focused Ponzi scheme that bilked more than 80 investors out of a total of $60 million, according to court filings. Under the scheme, investors were told their money would be put into a lending pool that would fund “flash loans” to complete arbitrage trades that were identified by a special trading bot.
However, the SEC alleges that the lending pool as described to investors never existed. Rather, the duo allegedly used those millions to support their lavish lifestyles, spending nearly half a million dollars alone on a variety of luxury vehicles.
Gary Gensler
Gary Gensler is the much-maligned SEC chairman who led the regulatory agency’s charge against digital assets during the Biden administration.
Under Gensler, the SEC has followed a “regulation-by-enforcement” model for reining in the unwieldy crypto industry, leading to an unprecedented number of SEC lawsuits against major digital assets companies such as Coinbase, Kraken, and Binance.US.
In 2023, the SEC brought a total of 46 cryptocurrency-related enforcement actions, a 53% increase from 2022, according to Cornerstone Research. That’s also a record high for the agency since 2013. But much of that may be for naught with Gensler announcing plans to resign in January as Trump takes office. Most crypto industry supporters aren’t sad to see him go.
Eli Regalado
Pastor Eli Regalado allegedly scammed devout parishioners of his Denver-based church out of more than $3 million through the sale of a token called INDXCoin, according to the Colorado Division of Securities. However, the pastor denies being completely at fault for the scheme. His rationale: The Lord made him do it.
Whether God whispered in his ear or not, one thing is clear: Regalado was living the high life on his followers’ money. The pastor bought luxury digs and other items with his ill-gotten gains from INDXCoin’s sale, according to charges from the Colorado Securities Commissioner filed earlier this year.
Craig Wright
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but in the case of Craig Wright and his claims to be the creator of Bitcoin, it’s also a crime.
In the case of the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) versus Craig Wright, Wright was found guilty in March of lying about being storied Bitcoin inventor Satoshi Nakamoto. A U.K. court also ruled that there was “overwhelming” evidence that Wright fabricated documents and lied on the stand during the trial. The Wright saga played out for years, but the result has earned him a spot on Santa’s naughty list this year.
Sahil Arora
Crypto influencer and celebrity wrangler Sahil Arora has fallen out of investors’—and Santa’s—good graces in 2024.
That’s because the crypto celebrity promoter allegedly made between $2 million and $30 million by exploiting his connections to various celebrity meme coin projects, according to on-chain analyses by blockchain sleuth ZachXBT and crypto data firm Bubblemaps.
(Arora denied any wrongdoing in an exclusive interview with Decrypt in May.)
So, how exactly did Arora get so rich? Well, it’s not exactly clear, but several celebrities and investors have something to say on the matter.
In May, Caitlyn Jenner said Arora “scammed” her “big time” by running away with the proceeds of the JENNER meme coin he helped launch.
R&B singer Jason Derulo followed up with his own meme coin and similar allegations against Arora, which Arora later told Decrypt wasn’t what it seemed. The controversy was “orchestrated” and all “part of the script,” he said.
As if that double dose of celebrity drama weren’t enough, investors also accused Arora of raking in up to $380,000 from the presale of an Iggy Azalea-themed meme coin project that he launched on Pump.fun earlier this year. Shortly after the presale, investors in the project alleged they hadn’t received any of the tokens they were promised. Meanwhile, at least some funds from the presale wallet appeared to have been moved, SolScan data showed.

From the team behind PC ports of other Nintendo games like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, a new PC port has arrived for Star Fox 64.
Just like their previous releases, Starship (their name for the project) does not include any copyrighted assets. You are required to provide the data files from a copy of the game you own.
Currently the only available build is for Windows, which you can try running through Wine / Proton. The developer said in the announcement in their Discord: “The Linux and Mac versions are very close but we ran into some snags and didn’t want to delay the release for it. If any Linux/MacOS developers want to help the ports across the finish line, it’s available to be built from source (see our GitHub Starship repository).”
Hopefully it won’t be too long before the Native Linux build is up to make it easier to run.
Star Fox designer Takaya Imamura posted on X (Twitter) to say “I don’t think Nintendo would tolerate this, but I’m personally very happy about it.” (translated from Japanese).
The Princess of Wales has shared a statement about her Christmas Carol Service, which airs on ITV1 tonight, December 24.
Kate took to social media to acknowledge the difficult times both she and the public have faced in recent months.
It comes as she and her young children are set to star on the programme which airs this evening.

Princess Kate speaks out ahead of Carol Service
Writing the poignant message to Instagram, Kate stated: “Join us on @ITV and @ITVX for the Together at Christmas Carol Service at 7.30pm this evening.
“This service reflects upon the importance of love and empathy, and how much we need each other, especially in the most difficult times of our lives. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this year’s celebrations.”
The Princess of Wales also shared a glimpse into the service, where she could be heard paying tribute to all the “inspiring people” across the United Kingdom who “embrace those in need”.
She gushed: “This carol service is a heartfelt celebration of every one of you and a reminder that at Christmas and all throughout the year, we must all shine for each other.”
In the clip, the Princess of Wales could be seen alongside her family attending the service.

Kate looked sensational in a festive long red coat complete with black bow as she smiled at onlookers waiting outside at Westminster Abbey earlier this month.
The carol service was filmed on December 5 and was also attended by Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
It came after the royal family shared a video showing the invitations to the carol service being printed. The clip showed Kate’s gold C crest being embossed on the invitations by a printing press.
The princess, who has been “hands-on” over every aspect of the service, held regular planning meetings at Windsor. She arrived on her own at 4pm on December 5, to view the Abbey and oversee last-minute arrangements.
Kate put on an elegant display in an Alexander McQueen red coat, featuring a statement black bow. She teamed it with her black Ralph Lauren boots and a beaming smile.

She was joined by George, Charlotte and Louis just before the service was due to begin. They arrived with Prince William, who will give the First Lesson during the service.
Outside of the Abbey, the children hung messages on the ‘kindness tree’. Prince Louis shared a message of thanks to his “Granny and Grandpa”.
It appeared to read: “Thank you to Granny and Grandpa … because they have played games with me.”
Kate’s mum, dad, sister and brother were also in attendance, as were Zara Tindall, Princess Beatrice and the Duchess of Edinburgh. The King and Queen were not scheduled to attend.

‘A moment to reflect’
William and Kate’s Royal Foundation website provided more details of the event.
It shared: “The Princess of Wales will host her fourth Together at Christmas Carol Service this December. This year’s service provides a moment to reflect upon the importance of love and empathy, and how much we need each other, especially in the most difficult time of our lives.
“The service will shine a light on individuals from all over the UK who have shown love, kindness and empathy in others in their communities, whether on a personal level with friends and family, through their work or as they selflessly give up their time through volunteering.”
It then revealed more details of the people who’ll be receiving the invites.
“Westminster Abbey will be filled with 1,600 people, alongside Members of The Royal Family and recognisable faces, who in their own ways have shown how love can help others thrive,” it read.
Details of performers were also shared.

“Combining traditional and modern elements to encompass people of all faiths and none, the service will see the world-renowned Westminster Abbey choir perform some of the nation’s most beloved carols, alongside musical performances from guests including Paloma Faith, Olivia Dean and Gregory Porter.”
The service will air as part of a special programme on ITV1 and ITVX tonight, Christmas Eve, at 7:30pm.

Thrive is an open source evolution sim built with Godot Engine, it’s getting more impressive with every new release and there’s another update out now for you to try out.
Version 0.8.0 brings with it some more graphics improvements to make all the little organisms look more impressive with new textures, new 3D models plus new and improved icons.
There’s a lot more to this release like the introduction of a Organelle Suggestion System that suggests what organelles to add to your organism in order to guide you towards optimizing its evolution. You can ignore it if you wish, but sounds like a useful feature for you to keep jumping to the top of the food chain. The devs also added in sulfur chunks, an underwater vent eruption event that creates extra hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide in the patch, nitrogen is now dynamic and there’s two new multicellular loading screen artworks.
Check out their release highlights trailer:
Thrive has Native Linux support and is rated Steam Deck Playable. See more about the update in the blog post. It’s free from their launcher or you can buy it from stores to support development.
Added an organelle suggestion that is shown in the editor which gives info on what auto-evo would like the player to add
Added a new tab in the editor to control organelle split order for more fine tuned control over ATP during reproduction
Reintroduced Mac builds of Thrive. Thrive is again playable on macOS but this is not official full support yet.
Balancing changes to microbe storage: most organelles now give much less storage to make storage an actual gameplay mechanic that needs planning
Created new membrane textures that help make the 3D membranes of different types more easily distinguishable (as the change to 3D membranes made all the membranes look very similar)
Reworked all organelle 3D models
Added sulfur chunks
Added a bloom strength slider and enabled it by default
Added an underwater vent eruption event that creates extra hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide in the patch
Added a miche viewer to the patch map tab
Improved gas update logic to make sure gases don’t add up to over 100%
Made compounds move much more freely between patches
Made nitrogen dynamic
Added hydrogen sulfide compound consumption by species
Added iron chunks being oxidised by oxygen making them less common once oxygen starts spreading through the world
Removed experimental compound production mode as it was too unbalanced and didn’t get any work done on it since the last release
Improved the microbe AI in terms of when it uses sprinting
Mucocyst can now be used by the AI to defend itself
Added difficulty options for what to do with stored compounds after reproducing
Added disk caching for generated species images. This makes displaying species images a lot faster after restarting the game and loading a save. By default the cache aims to use at most 1 GB of disk space.
Reduced unlock requirements of gas-dependent organelles
Reduced base endosymbiosis time costs by one
Lowered hydrogenase ATP output by 10%
Made slight balancing tweaks to photosynthesis glucose production and glucose use of a few ATP-generating organelles
Renamed Nitrogen-Fixing Plastid to Nitroplast
Made glucose reduction text only apply to discovered patches to make the percentages higher to make it look like a more important message
Added a warning tooltip for the speed stat in the editor about how it is not fully accurate
Added an icon for the mucocyst upgrade
Reworked the experimental siderophore feature action icon
Made engulfing info be last in the membrane tooltips like it was previously (before tooltip refactoring broke it)
Added a new and more visible cell membrane animation
Increased visibility of engulf wave effect slightly
Added bigger warning when enabling experimental features mode
Added tooltips for chemoreceptor upgrade GUI amount and distance sliders
Updated nitrogen icon to not have glow anymore to be more consistent with other compound icons

Who needs other people, eh? Sure they’re good for companionship, love and affection – and I suppose for a more effective Helldivers squad – but really, why not replace all that with a good old single player game? One that you can play on your own, whenever you like, and which won’t rely on anything other than your investment in it. OK, maybe I’m being flippant, but single player remains the bedrock of gaming, and after a number of years in the live service wilderness, they’re firmly at the forefront once more. 2024 has been a brilliant year for solo experiences, but one ran, bounced and boinged just that little bit harder than everyone else.
To call Astro Bot a love letter to gaming is to diminish its own creativity. Still, it is a missive filled with warmth and joy, not just for the PlayStation family and its beloved characters, but to the bountiful platforming abandon that’s normally a portly plumber’s remit. Just like Nintendo’s finest, Astro Bot is a repeated shot of delight that you will continue to down until you can’t possibly take any more, before finding room for just a little more.
Astro and his pals’ PS5-shaped spaceship is wrecked by some no-good aliens, leaving them strewn and stranded throughout the universe. Fortunately, our plucky hero sets out to rescue them within moments, leading to hour upon hour of platforming perfection.
Where Astro’s Playroom was a proof of concept to show off the PS5’s different abilities, Astro Bot takes that creativity and turns the dial way up, delivering you to tropical locales, sandy deserts and freezing tundras, where you fend off all manner of cute but deadly foes while encountering a new gameplay mechanic around every turn. It’s perky, cute and practically perfect in every way, and while you can share in its joy with other players, this is a classic singleplayer affair, making it a deserving winner of this year’s award.
Metaphor: ReFantazio – Runner-up
Atlus is renowned for the likes of Persona. When fourteen of the creative minds behind Persona left P-Studio to set up Studio Zero, it was obvious that whatever they made would be liquid gold. The first game they released is Metaphor ReFantazio.
While Studio Zero is tasked with developing original IP and content unrelated to Persona, it’s fair to call their work Persona-like. Not only are there systems and mechanics that carry over, from the progression of time to the friendship simulator, and even the basics of combat, but there are some tremendous Easter Eggs that even the least eagle-eyed fans will spot.
Gameplay boils down to two things: a dungeon-crawling turn-based action RPG and a time management sim. The interplay between the two is very well built, offering huge flexibility in how you play the game. If you’re looking for a game you can easily sink 150 hours into, without getting bored of gameplay, you won’t go far wrong with Metaphor!
– Nic B
Balatro – Runner-up
Solitaire is basically the single player card game, and Balatro takes a healthy dose of influence from Solitaire in with its blend of Poker hands and an overarching roguelike structure. There’s no story here (outside of a slightly snarky Joker card commenting on your failure), just a pure, unadulterated tumble down a rabbit hole of Poker hands, modifiers and ever-growing scores to overcome.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a buzzword in the tech circles. It is going to redefine the present technology. From predicting customers’ behavior to improving efficiency, AI changes the entire retail environment with the utmost accuracy and personalization behind the greatest retail success stories. Let’s step inside and see how AI is influencing the retail landscape and discover the transforming applications and latest trends that are now shaping the future.
Top Use Cases of AI in Retail: How AI is Transforming the Shopping Experience
AI is revolutionizing the retail industry, offering innovative solutions to enhance customer experiences, optimize operations, and boost sales. Let’s explore the most impactful use cases:
1. Personalized Recommendations:
Machine learning algorithms in AI extract data about customers, such as purchase history, browsing behavior, and the number of seconds they spend on certain items. It brings a personalized shopping experience with suggestions about what to buy, depending on someone’s personal preferences.
Example: Amazon’s recommendation system is based on collaborative filtering and deep learning in suggesting products that will interest consumers. For instance, a customer who buys a book can expect other books to be suggestions bought by people who have similar tastes.
2. Visual Search:
Visual search technology enables customers to locate items through the uploaded photos instead of hunting for keywords. Shoppers can snap a picture of something they like and receive feedback from that image instead of writing words.
Example: Pinterest Lens lets you upload a picture and find something similar, whether it is a couch, a whole outfit, or a specific thing. Fashion and home decor brands are increasingly adopting this feature to improve product discoverability.
3. Virtual Try-Ons and Augmented Reality (AR):
Virtual Try-Ons and Augmented Reality give consumers a chance to see the representation of products on them or how they fit before buying something. It is mostly used in fashion, beauty, and furniture.
Example: Sephora’s Virtual Artist and digital face recognition allow you the ability to use the many shades of makeup available. Another example is IKEA Place, an AR app used for virtually placing furniture in a customer’s space for visualization purposes, before purchase.
4. Chatbots and Virtual Assistants:
Artificial intelligence voice technology mimics and pretends to be a human conversation partner in real-time. They deal with inquiries, product recommendations, and order tracking and are used to make customer support quicker and more efficient.
Example: H&M has deployed an AI chatbot to recommend outfits according to user preference, provide a size guide, inform them about the order status, and provide style suggestions for a better shopping experience.
5. Demand Forecasting:
AI interprets past sales and seasonal information of an event along with factors like weather for anticipatory forecasts of demand. This is significant for retailers, to keep stock in the right amount in order to reduce the waste and prevent stockouts.
Example: Zara has used artificial intelligence to forecast demand for its fast-fashion products. Borrowing patterns, as well as customer preferences, are analyzed by Zara for achieving the fastest turnover of stock and optimal stocking.
6. Dynamic Pricing:
Dynamic pricing involves adjusting prices in real time based on factors like competitor pricing, demand fluctuations, and customer behavior. AI automates this process, ensuring retailers remain competitive while maximizing revenue.
Example: Amazon uses a continuous adjustment of product prices, using AI-powered price algorithms. For instance, during holiday disbursement sales, such data with regard to each competitor’s pricing and user demand will be processed to allow the company to present the best offers for the market.
7. Fraud Detection and Prevention:
AI has strengthened security by analyzing transaction patterns to identify and block fraudulent activities. It will detect inconsistencies such as high purchase volumes and locations usually associated with a customer.
Example: Walmart uses AI for online transaction monitoring and reporting suspicious activities such as discrepancies in billing addresses, multiple declined attempts, etc., ensuring safe and secure transactions to customers.
8. Shelf Analytics and Stock Optimization:
AI Computer vision tracks real-time tabs on aisle inventory. Identifying objects that are misplaced, or nearly low stock helps in replenishment efficiently.
Example: Kroger has implemented AI cameras in its stores to monitor shelves and alert staff when items need restocking. This ensures that customers always find what they need without disruption.
9. Smart Checkout Systems:
AI simplifies the checkout process by automating payments through advanced sensors and cameras. Customers can pick up items and leave the store without waiting in lines or scanning products manually.
Example: Amazon Go is the first shop to have smart checkouts powered by AI. For example, people walk into the store and pick the item out of the shelf and are actually not leaving with it. The intelligent AI computer vision technology will charge their account before they walk out.
10. Customer Sentiment Analysis:
AI interprets customer reviews, comments, and social media mentions of products or services and derives sentiment. These findings can assist retailers in improving their offerings.
Example: Walmart uses AI to read online reviews and commentaries on its products, to understand better customer preferences and areas for improvement.
11. AI-Powered Marketing Campaigns:
AI optimizes marketing by identifying the target audience segments, creating personalized messages, and scheduling campaigns for the times when they would most likely succeed.
Example: Starbucks employs AI to send personalized offers over the app, taking into account different variables such as location, purchase history, and even weather conditions.
12. Automation of warehouses:
AI-powered robots continue to shorten warehouse operations for purposes such as inventory management, sorting, and packing, making delivery times much shorter and reducing order fulfillment errors.
Example: The use of AI robots in fulfillment centers by Amazon is a way to carry packages and sort them, which automatically increases the flow in the operations of supply chains.
13. Sustainability and Waste Reduction:
AI can save retailers millions of dollars by drastically optimizing their supply chains, increasing energy usage, and predicting accurate, realistic demand.
Example: Patagonia uses AI to align its production with customer demand, reducing excess inventory and minimizing environmental impact.
Benefits of AI in Retail:
AI in retail isn’t just about innovation; it brings tangible benefits that transform how businesses operate and engage with customers.
1. Enhanced Customer Experience:
AI is making personalized, smooth shopping experiences by providing various tailored suggestions, virtual assistants, as well as other interactive tools like AR. Overall customer satisfaction and engagement increase due to such technology.
2. Optimized Inventory Management:
AI accurately forecasts demand, reduces overstocking or understocking, and streamlines supply chain operations, resulting in cost savings and operational efficiency.
3. Sale and Revenue Growth:
The dynamic pricing, targeted advertising, and individual shopping journey processes contributed to maximizing sales opportunities as well as transforming the profitability margins of retailers through personalization given by AI.
4. Improved Decision Making:
AI adds operational insights through data analysis that enables retailers to base their decisions on the kind of products they are stocking, pricing strategies, and even marketing campaigns.
5. Operational efficiency:
Automation with AI can include low-cost, unproductive methods for easing repetitive processes like inventory tracking, warehouse management, or checkout.

This marks a significant shift in consumer behavior and communication channels, as chatbots become an integral part of the shopping experience. AI is not just a tool for innovation but a driving force for transformative change in both retail and the global economy, setting the stage for a smarter, more efficient future.
