Melania Trump to Enhance Foster Care Support Through NFTs if Back in White House – Cryptoflies News

21

Former first lady Melania Trump has disclosed plans to expand her involvement in non-fungible token (NFT) and Web3 initiatives if she and her husband return to the White House. Her focus would be on using these to further support women, foster children, and their overall well-being.

In an interview with Fox News on October 7, Melania Trump discussed her current efforts in the digital space. She explained, “After I left the White House in 2021, I established my two platforms – Web2 and Web3 blockchain platforms — where I create art and collectibles […] With that, I established the ‘Fostering the Future’ initiative.”

The initiative provides financial support for children from the foster care system, particularly aiding in their education. She added, “If we are back in the White House, I will expand that.”

Melania Trump’s journey into NFTs began in December 2021 when she released her first NFT, which featured a watercolor painting titled “Melania’s Vision.” The painting, which depicted her cobalt blue eyes, was sold to raise funds for children aging out of foster care.

Since then, she has continued to launch other Web3 projects. Among these are the “Head of State” NFT collection, commemorating the Trump administration’s first official state visit, and the “Potus Trump” collection, highlighting key moments from her husband’s presidency.

In addition to these political-themed releases, Melania Trump has explored more casual NFT drops tied to holidays and special occasions. These include a Christmas-themed series and a customizable physical necklace paired with an NFT for Mother’s Day.

Donald Trump has also been involved in the NFT market. He entered the scene in 2022 with a collection of trading cards depicting himself in different settings. The success of this release led to the launch of three more trading card series.

According to an August financial disclosure, Donald Trump’s earnings from NFT licensing fees surpassed $7 million, and his holdings in Ethereum (ETH) are valued between $1 million and $5 million.

The Givenchy x Bogs Boots Are Made For More Than Walking

Givenchy x Bogs Boots

How would Hubert de Givenchy react to the knowledge of his maison’s present-day collaboration with America-hailing footwear brand Bogs? While that is answerable by only Monsieur Givenchy himself, one thing’s for certain: Givenchy’s present-day carte blanche is materialising in a direction that reads younger, more modern, and fresh.

Givenchy x Bogs Boots

To quote that one song, These (Givenchy x Bogs) Boots Are Made for Walkin’. Be it for an all-terrain expedition, or for a strut on a catwalk — as seen on fan favourites like Off Jumpol, Phu Tatchai and Nani Hirunkit — Givenchy’s latest partnership with the outdoor footwear makers shows that there is no compromise between functionality and fashion.

Riffing off on the Oregon-based label’s understanding of hyper-utility, Givenchy now presents 100 percent waterproof, vulcanised boots that are, trust us, sexier than they sound. Taking on forms in cropped Chelsea boots and lace-up versions, the maison’s emblematic 4G branding, savoir-faire detailing and subtle surface treatments see to it that one can find warmth and comfort both in and out of a pair of cold climate-approved stompers.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Review: Final Flash In The Pan

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Review: Final Flash In The Pan

It’s been 17 years since Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and its 3D-arena-based combat graced consoles, and ever since, fans have clamored for a return to that old style. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has answered the call, with the benefit of an entirely new story arc to explore thanks to Dragon Ball Super–which wasn’t part of the Dragon Ball canon until 2013. For the most part, the Tenkaichi approach still works thanks to its fast and energized battle system; however, repetitive gameplay and limited mode options leave us wanting more from this battle.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is a return to that old Tenkaichi format, where two fighters wage war in an open arena lined with buildings, rocks, cliffs, and more just waiting to be destroyed. Each fighter has a mix of physical and ki-based attacks, highlighted by flashy and bombastic special attacks like the Kamehameha, Final Flash, Spirit Bomb, and other iconic Dragon Ball techniques.

As is immediately noticeable, the visual style of Sparking Zero is top-notch, from the main menu to the heat of battle. Every character moves and fights fluidly, and the small scenes that play during a successful ultimate attack are a delight, which makes connecting with those moves even more exhilarating. In particular, attacks like the Point-Blank Kamehameha performed by Ultra Instinct Goku’s Sign form–the animation complete with scenes ripped right from the anime–are amazing to close out a match with.

Moving around the arena and approaching a battle is exciting, but before long, each fight devolves into button-mashing exercises. Every character on the roster shares the same basic control scheme: Close-range physical attacks are assigned to one button, short ki blasts are set to another, and special moves are performed by holding a shoulder button while pressing either of those two buttons. They can also dodge, dash, ascend into the air or descend back to the ground, and counter while being attacked. Finally, if a character charges their ki beyond full power and activates Sparking, they have access to a devastating ultimate attack.

The adrenaline is there in every match, as mashing the attack button feels very close to the rapid-fire punches and kicks seen in the anime, but those looking for complex, skill-based fighting tech will not find it here. In fact, the majority of battles fall into a familiar loop: The match would begin, we’d unleash a few attacks and knock the opponent away, then we’d charge up our ki meter and repeat the process until the match was over.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero features destructible environments.

There’s an exciting energy to this type of battle–pulling off a Super Spirit Bomb and watching the sequence play out is intensely satisfying every single time–and learning about different characters throughout Dragon Ball’s lore is genuinely fun and interesting. However, the lack of depth in the core battle scheme gives it a limited shelf life that’s better for quick-play sessions rather than marathon gaming. Then again, this is also true of previous Budokai Tenkaichi games, and that hasn’t stopped diehard fans from enjoying it, so series vets may feel right at home.

Nowhere is this more evident than in Episode Battle, the main single-player experience in Sparking Zero. Here, you’ll select one of the franchise’s main characters and run through the story from that character’s perspective, fighting all of the key battles that character faces along the way. Cutscenes between each fight range from still images with voices talking over them to short, fully animated scenes featuring a conversation between different characters.

This creates a repetition that, despite the battles themselves being fun, wears thin fast, as the cutscenes don’t consist of much more than a few quips before jumping into the next battle. This repetition is exacerbated by a few odd difficulty spikes sprinkled throughout the adventure. Granted, most of these come at the most climactic moments in the series and against the big bads of Goku’s adventures, but some of these spikes are downright unfair; no matter how big Great Ape Vegeta is, that monkey should not be able to tank a 10-hit combo without flinching, grab you before you can land hit number 11, and instantly deplete one of Goku’s five health bars. Furthermore, losing a battle causes a brief but unskippable cutscene to play before you can choose to retry, and multiple losses means multiple trips through said cutscene, with the same voice clips playing every time. That gets annoying fast.

There are massive imbalances between characters to reflect their respective power levels in the anime.
There are massive imbalances between characters to reflect their respective power levels in the anime.

There are some attempts at variety in Episode Battles, as some of the cutscenes offer choices or win conditions that lead to branching storylines. These choice-based moments are a novel way to spice up the oft-trodden story beats of the saga–Dragon Ball Z’s arcs, especially. In one early choice, when Piccolo approaches Goku about fighting Raditz together, you can choose to eschew his invitation and go it alone, which results in Krillin joining Goku instead in a “what if” scenario.

These one-offs are neat, but they ultimately result in nothing more than one or two extra fights before returning to the established path–which make these “what ifs” little more than temporary distractions. Episode Battle as a whole does a good job of retelling the winding story of the Dragon Ball series, but with the exception of the Dragon Ball Super story arcs, this is ground that’s been covered many times before, and the choice-based alternate routes don’t do quite enough to mix things up.

In standard matches, the number of playable characters on the Sparking Zero roster sits in the triple digits: 181, to be exact. However, as is a running trend in Dragon Ball fighting games, that number is artificially inflated by the faces found in some of those slots. For starters, there are 19 different versions of series hero Goku, including four “base forms”–where Goku is in his normal, black-haired state. Every transformation from Super Saiyan to Ultra Instinct has received its own slot, as well as his kid versions from Dragon Ball GT and that version’s transformations. That 19 figure also doesn’t include Goku Black–the villainous alternate version from Dragon Ball Super–and his various forms, nor does it include Goku’s various fusions with Vegeta and those transformations.

There are many, many, many versions of Goku and Vegeta in this game. There are many, many, many versions of Goku and Vegeta in this game.
There are many, many, many versions of Goku and Vegeta in this game.

Goku’s not alone in excessive roster representation, as Vegeta holds 14 slots (again not including fusions or his GT villain alt Baby Vegeta), Gohan fills 11, and Trunks fills nine. Villains are also not immune to these roster-padding techniques, with Frieza, Cell, and Buu also occupying at least five slots each. Some of these forms can even transform into other forms mid-match, which makes the overabundance of “unique” character slots seem even more arbitrary.

Granted, it is a good thing to have all of these different forms represented, and to the game’s credit, each form is not an exact copy of the other. Combo animations vary between forms, while the special moves performed while holding R2 are also different–think of them like Echo Fighters in Smash Bros. rather than unique characters. However, since the game’s control scheme is the same for every character, those unique moves feel less special when the same buttons are pressed to unleash them. There’s a lot of bloat in this character roster, and it only takes one look at the select screen to see how.

This massive roster can battle in one-on-one matches and World Tournament brackets both offline and online, though the latter leaves a bit to be desired. In our time with the game pre-launch, we were only able to link into one online match despite trying multiple times in multiple different ways. The match ran well for the most part, with only an occasional stutter throughout, but without a full player base to work with, that small sample may betray the actual experience. Your mileage may vary on launch day.

The visuals are one of the best parts of the game. The visuals are one of the best parts of the game.
The visuals are one of the best parts of the game.

Sparking Zero also offers Custom Battles, where you can frame a battle with custom cutscenes that play before and after the fight. The in-game editors allow you to choose scenes, backdrops, poses, and even dialogue for the characters, and then upload scenarios to an online server and let others test them out. This idea is very cool in theory, as it lets you create your own mini-episode of the anime and highlight it with a big battle. In practice, however, there is a major limitation that affects the personal touch the mode strives for.

That issue is with the dialogue, as what you can “write” is not free text; instead, you have to choose between a list of pre-written phrases and choose which characters are saying them. Certain words highlighted in green within the pre-written phrases can also be switched for something else, but again your choices are assigned rather than freely written. The risks in giving free reign to write dialogue for these scenes are understood, but that lack of freedom completely hampers the entire idea. The lines provided are generic and limited, and they don’t generate a ton of excitement for the scene, leaving the mode feeling underwhelming.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero does a serviceable job instant-transmissioning the Budokai Tenkaichi format into the modern age. However, a lot of the pitfalls of that former era–lack of variety in the control scheme, shallow gameplay, limited mode selection–have also made the journey through the decade-plus hiatus. The core fighting experience is fun and exciting, and it looks terrific in motion, but repetition sets in quickly. The modes that are here allow you to relive your favorite Dragon Ball stories from different points of view, but the experience runs dry quickly.

There’s fun to be had in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, but ultimately this return to form does not spark as much joy as we’d hoped.

Sarah and David take a moment to discuss his supposedly ‘strange’ behaviour but the conversation is cut by the arrival of an estate agent putting up a ‘for sale’ sign, making David even more worried.

Jesse, unaware to their suspicions, tells Gail he wants to get to know her kids. He treats David, Sarah and Nick to lunch in the Rovers.

There, the kids quiz him on his finances and he admits he’s awaiting some cash after he sold his home.

Sarah follows Jesse in Coronation Street

At the lunch, David advises Sarah to forget about Damon’s missing money, but she’s not done yet.

Adam stirs the pot as he says Jesse may have overheard her and David discussing the missing money, and Sarah becomes adamant that Jesse took it.

Meme Coin Trader Who Turned $800 Into $10 Million Roundtrips Unreal Gains – Decrypt

    0
Meme Coin Trader Who Turned 0 Into Million Roundtrips Unreal Gains – Decrypt

When a meme coin based on a viral baby hippo in Thailand notches dizzying gains, those fortunes can melt away rather quickly. Simply look at an anonymous trader on Solana who has round-tripped millions of dollars in value these past few days.

It’s the kind of luck that degens dream of: After investing $800 in Moo Deng, an allotment of 30.2 million tokens had swelled to $7.5 million in value late last month. The value of those tokens peaked at just over $10 million on September 28 when the price of the Moo Deng meme coin hit an all-time high.

Even though the trader with a Solana wallet address beginning in “Db3P” has broken up their sizable stash across four Solana addresses, blockchain data examined by Decrypt Monday indicated that the trader has not parted ways with any Moo Deng tokens.

That has remained true, even as the trader’s holdings tumble in value.

Moo Deng’s price buckled 65% from its peak nine days ago, falling as low as $0.10 Monday. Still, the coin had risen 4% in value over the past day to $0.12.

The Solana trader still had significant profits on paper, purchasing the hippo token in bulk for two-hundred-thousandths of a penny each—four hours after it was launched.

As of this writing, the trader’s Moo Deng tokens were valued around $3.8 million, according to Solscan, representing a 433,367% increase compared to their entry price. So why hasn’t the whale sold? In short, they can’t—at least not easily, and not without further tanking the token’s price.

The market for Moo Deng, as with virtually all meme coins, is extremely illiquid. At the moment, there is only around $3.2 million in liquidity available in the Moo Deng pool on the Solana decentralized exchange Raydium, where the token trades. Were this trader to sell, even in small tranches, the price of the token would begin to fall precipitously, and the trader would only realize a small fraction of their paper gains. Attempting to sell the stash in one go would crash the price of Moo Deng by more than 50%, according to estimates on Solana DEX aggregator Jupiter.

Meme coins are extremely volatile, rising and falling based on little more than vibes. In an interview with Farokh Sarmad of Rug Radio, Decrypt’s sister company, the shark tank star Mark Cuban recently said, “Meme coins are all a game of musical chairs.”

As enthusiasm toward the Solana-based meme coin showed signs of fading, a copycat version of the token saw notable attention on Ethereum.

After Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin dumped Moo Deng on Ethereum to fund charitable initiatives, the coin’s price rocketed. Pushing as high as $0.000246, the coin’s price had fallen 23% to $0.000188. But it was still up 325% over the past day.

Kody Brown Blames Rifts In His Life On His Kids’ Betrayal

Kody Brown Blames Rifts In His Life On His Kids’ Betrayal

Kody Brownis pointing fingers at his children’s supposed betrayal for the turmoil within his family.

The “Sister Wives” patriarch recently stormed out of a heated discussion with his fourth and only remaining wife, Robyn Brown, as they tackled the topic of his strained relationships with his kids.

Tensions have been building for a while, especially since Robyn Brown’s daughters, Aurora and Breanna, expressed their feelings of exclusion after joining Kody Brown’s plural family.

Kody Brown Storms Out After Fiery Argument With Robyn Brown Over Family Tensions

      MEGA

In a tense new episode of TLC’s “Sister Wives,” the father-of-eighteen expressed his frustrations, revealing the strain in his relationships with his older children. Kody shed more light in his confessional, saying:

“Robyn is extremely upset that I’m not reaching out more to my children.”

He implied that the issues with his children are spilling over into his relationship with Robyn. The TV personality suggested that his children’s actions have led to significant emotional distance or conflict in his life. In his words:

“I’m not gonna sit here and fight with you, have a rift in our relationship caused by these people who have created the biggest rift in my life.”

TooFab reported that though he eventually returned to the house, their conversation quickly turned back to the subject of Kody’s relationships with his older kids from previous marriages to Christine, Janelle, and Meri.

Robyn pressed Kody to reconnect with them, insisting that he should not give up on his parental responsibilities. “I’m not gonna do it with a rejection every single time. I’m not abandoning my children. They have betrayed me,” Kody responded defensively.

Robyn fired back, “But they’re kids!”to which Kody clarified, “No, they’re adults,” emphasizing the need for reciprocal relationships in his family.

Refusing to let her husband get away with excuses, the mother-of-five drew from her own experience with an absent father to emphasize the importance of being a present figure for their large family.

“I’m having a hard time not losing respect for you a little bit,” she confessed, clearly frustrated with Kody’s approach to parenting. In her confessional, she elaborated, saying:

“If I were him, I would be calling, emailing, texting, maybe showing up, flying out there, you know, whatever.

Kody’s further dismissal did not sit well with Robyn, who insisted he needed to take a more proactive stance. Her reasons seemed to wear him down seeing as Kody begrudgingly agreed to try “a little bit.”

The Family’s Patriarch Faced More Backlash From Janelle

In another part of the segment, Kody’s former partner, Janelle, also voiced her deep concerns about his fraught connections with not only his children but also his grandchildren.

The mother-of-six highlighted the 55-year-old’s noticeable absence from the lives of her daughter Madison’s three kids—Axel, Evie, and Josephine. While Janelle expressed disappointment, Kody pushed back against the criticism.

The reality TV star insisted, “It’s an unrealistic expectation for grandparents to be in their grandchildren’s lives all the time.” He added that another reason he could not be present was because Madison’s family resided far away in North Carolina.

The growing friction within the Brown family dynamic also cast a shadow over Robyn’s daughters, Aurora and Breanna. Last month, The Blast reported that the sisters openly expressed their feelings of isolation since becoming part of the plural marriage.

Aurora revealed, “I have been told directly, inmultiple circumstances, by multiple different people that I was not accepted, that I was not their sister, that they didn’t consider or see me that way.”

Breanna chimed in, reflecting on the family’s struggles, saying, “The parents could have done a better job with connecting us as a family, and it never really happened.”

Robyn attempted to clarify the situation, asserting that her daughters were not seeking to cut ties but rather to establish healthy boundaries. “It was never anything about, ‘We don’t want to see you again,'” she emphasized.

However, it did not stop the 45-year-old from addressing the emotional strain within her relationship with Kody. Robyn did not hold back her thought, admitting, “We’re probably doing the worst we’ve ever done in our marriage. It’s been tough. It’s been tough between us.”

Reflecting on the gravity of the situation, Kody confirmed that their relationship was indeed in a “struggling place.”

As tensions mount, it is clear that the impact of the Browns family dynamics extends beyond the adults and is also affecting the younger generation.

There’s A Good Reason Sam Mendes Won’t Make Another James Bond Movie – SlashFilm

There’s A Good Reason Sam Mendes Won’t Make Another James Bond Movie – SlashFilm

Bond fever is gripping the globe and all eyes are turned towards the most headline-grabbing aspect of the next installment in the long-running property. What, do you think all the frenzied speculation begins and ends with the newest leading man who’ll eventually try on that impeccably-tailored suit? Ha! In my eye, what’s just as crucial to the future of this series is the filmmaker who’ll take a seat in the director’s chair and try to improve on Daniel Craig’s widely celebrated run as James Bond. In the three years (and counting) since “No Time to Die” brought that iteration to a very definitive end — and it doesn’t get any more definitive than killing off the title character for the first time in franchise history — all the most obvious names have been bandied back and forth. While I wouldn’t put much stock into the notion of Christopher Nolan making the most unimaginative directing choice in history (although he seems amenable to the idea), we can at least cross one notable name off the list.

Sam Mendes has taken on two of the biggest Bond movies ever in 2012’s “Skyfall” and “Spectre” in 2015, but maybe don’t get your hopes up for him to make a grand return and add a third one to the ledger. “Skyfall” might be one of the most well-received and well-made movies in the entire franchise, but the troubled sequel ended up garnering a much chillier reception. At the time, Mendes was resolute that it would be his last time directing a Bond movie and, well, he’s sticking by those words nearly a decade later.

To Mendes, studios these days want more ‘controllable’ directors

Sam Mendes is currently an executive producer on the new HBO series “The Franchise” and, in a recent interview with Inverse (via Variety), the extremely accomplished director opened up about his thoughts on the James Bond movies and whether he could see himself returning to the fold. While not ruling out the possibility entirely, he certainly poured quite a lot of cold water on how realistic that might actually be. As he tactfully explained:

“Never say never, to quote the man, but I would doubt it. It was very good for me at that moment in my life. I felt like it shot me out of some old habits. It made me think on a bigger scale. It made me use different parts of my brain. You have to have a lot of energy.”

Now that’s putting it mildly. After all, we’re talking about the same franchise that once inspired an exhausted Daniel Craig to make a sarcastic, off-the-cuff comment about how he’d rather commit some serious self-harm than film another Bond movie again. (Craig later walked back those remarks, of course.) But while speaking more generally about the state of big-budget studio movies at large, Mendes pinpointed one painfully apparent reason why he could never play in that sandbox again. He went on to explain:

“They don’t want people who have a big track record. They want slightly more malleable people who are earlier in their career, who perhaps are going to use it as a stepping stone, and who are more controllable by the studio.”

That’s a pretty damning (yet awfully accurate) statement. We’ve seen this again and again with Marvel movies in particular, but it’s a slippery slope that extends to the vast majority of IPs these days, too. It’s not a stretch to see how this could apply to the ever-protective Broccoli family and their tendency to micro-manage each film. For now, we remain in a holding pattern — both for the new Bond actor and the director who’ll accompany them.

Coronation Street: As Lisa dashes off from Carla following vulnerable moment, here’s what happens next

Tonight’s episode of Coronation Street (Monday, October 7), saw DS Lisa Swain and Carla Connor share a spark with each other in Carla’s flat.

Following an eventful day, Lisa turned up at the flat to check on Carla and soon shared a tender moment with her.

But, after Lisa abruptly dashed off from the factory owner, here’s everything we know about what happens next!

Coronation Street: Carla and Lisa’s heartfelt moment

This evening on the cobbles, Carla headed to court for her plea hearing, with the dad of the lad she knocked over – Tom, confronting her.

Whilst Carla was let off rather lightly, she returned back to the factory and was later cornered by Tom whilst in her office alone.

Fortunately, Lisa turned up just at the right moment and had Tom arrested.

Once Carla had given a statement to Lisa’s colleagues, she returned back to her flat. Lisa then arrived to check in on Carla, wanting to make sure that she was okay.

With Lisa also just finding out that Joel had been threatening Betsy, she sat down to share a bottle of red with Carla during a vulnerable moment. She admitted that she sometimes thought about being killed on the job and whether that would really be such a bad thing.

Carla also confided in Lisa about her feelings regarding her divorce to Peter, interested to know if Lisa had ever dated someone after Becky’s death. She hadn’t.

As Lisa got up to leave, Carla then gently held Lisa’s face and gazed into her eyes. As she brushed her hair behind her ear, sparks were definitely flying.

The moment then caused Lisa to quickly flee from the flat, with Carla calling for her to come back…

Coronation Street: What’s next for Swarla?

It’s clear to many viewers that Lisa and Carla have chemistry, with Carla feeling electricity between herself and the Weatherfield detective tonight.

However, with Carla newly divorced from Peter, and with Lisa still grieving Becky and having all of this Betsy drama to deal with, things won’t be plain-sailing.

Carla’s bound to be feeling confused over what she experienced with Lisa tonight, only having previously expressed feelings for men in the past.

In scenes to come on Wednesday (October 9), Carla admits to Lisa that they need to talk. But, will she open up to Lisa about how she feels or put the moment to one side so as to not make Lisa feel uncomfortable?

Despite Lisa dashing off tonight, something tells us that there’s much more to come for Swarla!
