General Hospital: General Hospital: Michael Returns to Chaos – Rory Gibson Recast Confirmed!

General Hospital sees Michael Corinthos is the guy on the plane and he is on his way back home to Port Charles from Germany and his return is sure to be explosive. We’re going to talk about how Michael’s unexpected return sends shock waves through Port Charles.

Speculation on the New Michael Corinthos Actor

So, we’ve got this mysterious man that we just saw on a jet and he was watching Drew Cain Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) at the Nurse’s Ball red carpet on a tablet.

It’s got to be Michael right? We expected him back in Port Charles any day now anyway because of the constant name drops and the custody suit and the stuff that Carly Corinthos Spencer (Laura Wright)’s doing. And it seems pretty certain it is not Chad Duell in the role.

General Hospital: Chad Duell Moves on?

He is starring in a play that just opened. He was showing off at the venue on his social media. Here’s that photo. And he’s taking a break, possibly a permanent one, from his role as Michael on General Hospital. Frank Valentini said they wouldn’t recast, but it’s not like they’re going to tell us their plans. And since they never stopped the name drops, I think they always intended to recast. And we know from Robert Adamson that the character of Michael was going through a recast process at GH.

He had filled in for Chad Duell as Michael several times. And apparently Robert Adamson wasn’t asked to even read for the recast role and he was pretty salty about it. Here’s his post about it that he deleted, but you know, digital lasts forever. So, there you go. And there’s been a lot of chatter that it might be hunky soap actor Rory Gibson, who formerly played Noah Newman on Young and the Restless, in that role.

Now, Rory hasn’t been seen on Y&R in two years, and there’s no sign he’ll be back to the CBS soap as Noah. So, maybe it’s going to be Rory in the role. He is gorgeous, undeniably, but that has not been confirmed yet. And if it is Rory, it would be kind of interesting because Robert Adamson has also played Noah Newman on Y&R and appeared as Michael on GH. So, just a fun little tidbit.

Michael’s Explosive Return and Nurse’s Ball Appearance on General Hospital

But no matter who it is, no matter who takes on the role of Michael, his return is going to shake up everything. And by the way, we have been told, of course, that somebody’s crashing the Nurse’s Ball and it may be recast Michael and we may even see him by the end of the week to some extent.

My theory is that we might get him from the back. You know, everybody’s reaction, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s Michael, but we just don’t see his face yet. So, fingers crossed. Obviously, this is going to be explosive. I suspect there’s going to be huge shock waves, more than a few for several people. So, let’s take a look at the fallout ahead.

General Hospital: Michael Confronts Willow About the Germany Clinic Lie

Jumping in, first off, when Michael returns, he’s probably going to be a little confused when his wife, Willow, confronts him about refusing to see her when she came to the clinic in Germany. I’m sure she’s going to call Michael out on it at some point, sooner rather than later, and accuse him of not being willing to work with her about custody, not being willing to even talk to her.

Willow shouted that same thing when Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) confronted her recently and was hitting at her. But I’m sure Michael will set the record straight because he never refused to see her. He didn’t know she was there. And that should shock Willow and raise some questions.

Of course, we all know that Drew (Cameron Mathison) bribed the lady at the German clinic to lie to Willow. And eventually that secret is going to come out and Michael’s return should give Willow a glimpse of Drew’s sketchiness, as if it matters. I don’t think it’s going to make a dent, but still.

Michael and Curtis Team Up to Take Down Drew

The second thing about Michael’s return is that he might team up with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and they could decide no matter what they have to destroy Drew. Before Michael got all burned up, he and Curtis were still working on it. And Michael is going to want to take Drew down.

I think now more than ever, especially since he’s moved Willow and his kids into Drew new house. I mean, the guy essentially stole Michael’s life. And Curtis has got so many reasons to destroy Drew like him actively blackmailing Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr). Even if Curtis leaves Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) for her lies, which it’s feeling likely, I don’t think he’s going to want Drew to get away with the shady stuff he’s doing. And Michael and Curtis conspiring again seems quite certain.

General Hospital: Carly’s Custody Meddling Angers Michael

Also, you know, Michael may be annoyed that Carly is plotting behind his back and manipulating the custody case. And she didn’t even call Michael to tell him. You know, Carly’s pushing the hearing forward. Joss told Carly, ‘Tell Michael”, but she refused. And Carly’s adamant she’s going to get her grandkids out of Drew and Willow’s house. She doesn’t care if Michael’s mad at her.

Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) warned her bad things could happen, but Carly said she doesn’t care. But she may change her tune if Michael explodes at his mom for meddling and making things worse. So Carly may regret it if Michael becomes so mad he cuts her out of his life. And it wouldn’t be the first time he cut a parent out of his life. He did it with Sonny not that long ago.

General Hospital: Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson)

Michael Reacts to Sasha, Jason, and the Baby Secret

Plus, Michael may be stunned to see how close Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) are now. Sasha’s pregnant with Michael’s baby, as you know, and said that she didn’t want him involved. Part of that was the custody stuff, but Michael’s coming home and he’s going to see Jason increasingly involved with Sasha and her pregnancy.

Michael may not like Jason pretending to be the baby daddy. He did agree to it, but to see it up close and personal may sting, so Michael could be jealous on General Hospital. And there’s a chance the subterfuge may not matter anyway because of the custody hearing and what could come out.

The Custody Hearing and the Paternity Test Bombshell

In early June, we’ve got Michael and Willow’s court date that could blow up lives. Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) may have found out Michael and Sasha’s baby secret. When Willow hired Ric to be her new lawyer, he said he could find things out that Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) didn’t. We know he’s more ruthless. And let’s face it, Ric’s devious and he just served Sasha Gilmore a subpoena to testify at Michael’s custody hearing. She’s panicking. She asked Jason why. Could be that Ric Lansing dug up proof that Michael and Sasha slept together.

I mean, people at the Brown Dog Bar, no doubt saw Michael and Sasha drunk, maybe even making out. We don’t know. Then there’s the hotel clerk that checked him into the room for their one night stand. You know, there are options and Ric might have dug deep and come up with pay dirt. Right after that, Sasha turned up pregnant. So, yeah, Ric might suspect Michael is the father of Sasha’s baby.

    General Hospital: Michael’s Explosive Return

Then Ric may demand a paternity test to see if Michael committed adultery, which would negate anything that they say in court about Willow hooking up with Drew. So, if the secret’s out, Michael might make a play for Sasha now that he’s coming back. Jason’s in the mix now. That could complicate things. And with Sonny trying to get out of the mob business, it should decrease Sasha’s concerns about any danger from that aspect. Not that pretending Jason’s her baby daddy is necessarily safe, either.

So, Michael’s return is going to flip Port Charles upside down, and it looks like it may be happening sooner rather than later. I’m super excited to see if it’s going to be Rory Gibson in the role or another hunk we might know from another soap. Watch for an explosive end to the Nurse’s Ball and whether we get recast Michael as the party crasher.

Since its release, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has kept fans hooked with its harsh combat and deep grimdark setting, attracting over 5 million gamers in just three months. Developer Saber Interactive has kept the momentum going with regular updates that add new material to the game’s story, PvE, and PvP modes.

Recent updates have included new cosmetics, enemy types, and a redesigned perk system, while the March 2025 hotfix 6.2 improved gameplay balance and laid the groundwork for the huge 7.0 release. Now, all eyes are on the highly anticipated Update 8, which is set to be released on June 26, 2025, and promises to enhance the experience with new DLC and the addition of a thrilling game mode.

Throughout 2025, players have benefited from additions such as the Salamander Champion skin, new PvE objectives, and a more difficult Absolute difficulty mode, as well as additional Battle Barge features like the Datavault for lore enthusiasts. Update 8 will provide exclusive DLC such as Blood Angels and White Scars cosmetic packs, as well as a rebalanced Absolute difficulty for die-hard players. It has also been announced that the same update will bring a new game mode that lets you battle an endless, glorious wave of Tyranids.

Space Marine 2’s update 8 will bring Siege Mode to let you battle Tyranids like never before

The upcoming Siege Mode in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, which will be available on June 26, 2025, delivers an exciting new PvE experience in which players face relentless waves of Tyranids and Chaos armies. This free upgrade will put even the most experienced Ultramarines to the test with its ruthless, survival-driven gameplay.

Siege Mode, set in the rainforest world of Kadaku, is a three-player co-op mode in which players defend an Imperial citadel against fiercer enemy hordes. The goal is simple yet punishing: hold your ground for as long as possible, knowing that survival is fleeting but glory is eternal.

The mode pits players against “seemingly endless” waves of Tyranids, using Saber Interactive’s swarm technology to generate chaotic, high-intensity fights. Expect to face familiar foes like Tyranid Gaunts in ranged combat, as well as harder enemies like Tyranid Warriors that require precise melee techniques, parries, and dodges.

The game incorporates Space Marine 2’s existing progression system, letting players gain points for upgrades and reinforcements, which improve their loadouts and abilities as the waves escalate. The Biovore, a new Extremis-level Tyranid with a destructive biological cannon and melee abilities, offers a new layer of difficulty.

Siege Mode, which will be available for testing on the Public Test Server (PC/Steam) beginning June 4, 2025, claims to reward teamwork and strategy, with players balancing armor regeneration through executions and health recovery via medkits.

DefaiCon Set to Headline at Istanbul Blockchain Week 2025

Artificial intelligence and decentralised finance will come under joint scrutiny this June at DefaiCon Istanbul, a dedicated event exploring how automated agents and DeFi protocols are intersecting across blockchain infrastructure.

Scheduled for 26 June 2025, the conference will take place at the Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center as part of this year’s Istanbul Blockchain Week and organised by EAK Digital—a leading London-based blockchain marketing and events agency.

DefaiCon Istanbul will bring together software developers, researchers, investors, and company founders to examine the growing use of AI in blockchain-based systems—particularly in areas such as financial trading, protocol governance, and resource coordination. The event follows the inaugural DefaiCon, held in Dubai in 2024, which reportedly attracted over 3,000 attendees.

      What is Istanbul Blockchain Week?

Now in its fourth year, Istanbul Blockchain Week (IBW) is a regional blockchain conference bringing together participants from across the web3 and cryptocurrency sectors. It takes place in one of the most active markets for digital asset trading, with Turkey consistently ranking among the top countries in terms of cryptocurrency usage and transaction volumes.

IBW includes a series of panel discussions, developer workshops, product showcases, and networking events. In addition to DefaiCon, this year’s programme features events such as a summit on tokenised real-world assets, a multi-day hackathon for blockchain developers (IstanHack), and an AI-generated music showcase.

The event is designed for a wide range of participants—from protocol developers and founders to regulators, researchers, and financial professionals—looking to examine developments in blockchain-based technologies.

What can we expect during DefaiCon?

DefaiCon Istanbul will focus specifically on the role of AI agents within decentralised finance (DeFi). These agents are designed to perform tasks typically carried out by humans—such as trading, governance voting, and system monitoring—within blockchain environments.

Scheduled speakers include Hey Anon and Wagmi CEO Daniele Sesta. The programme includes keynote talks, technical demonstrations, and open discussions on how autonomous systems may affect the structure and operation of decentralised networks.

The event will also feature live product demos and workshops, including tools related to protocol automation, zero-knowledge computing, and smart contract management. Past events have included the public debut of trading agents and trustless coordination tools now in development.

DefaiCon is exclusively accessible to Istanbul Blockchain Week ticket holders.

        Published May 22, 2025 9:39 AM PDT

Kid Cudi is testifying about his infamous car fire-bombing … and he says he knows Diddy had something to do with it, even though Diddy denied it to his face during a meeting where Diddy came off like a Marvel supervillain.

The rapper testified Thursday in Diddy’s criminal … telling the jury his Porsche went up in flames outside his house in January 2012, shortly after he broke things off with Cassie.

Kid Cudi says he wasn’t at home when he got a call from his dog’s babysitter, informing him his car was on fire. He says he rushed home and found his car damaged.

Photos were shown in court and Kid Cudi said the roof of his Porsche was cut open and that’s where the Molotov cocktail was inserted. He testified he called cops to report the arson.

Kid Cudi told jurors he reached out to Diddy a few days after the incident, “because I knew he had something to do with it.” Cudi said he told Diddy they needed to meet up and talk. He said Diddy had wanted to talk to him and things were getting out of hand, so he decided to meet.

Cudi says he went to see Diddy at SoHo House in West Hollywood … with Diddy’s security guard D-Roc escorting him into a room where Diddy was standing there like a “Marvel supervillain.”

Kid Cudi says they chopped it up about Cassie, and Diddy told him he thought they were homies and that Cassie was his girl. Cudi says he told Diddy he thought they had broken up.

Cudi told the jury Diddy was so calm during the meeting it was “weird” … and that Cassie came in the room too and told him she and Cudi had fallen in love.

Kid Cudi testified he confronted Diddy about the car bombing, asking him “What about my car?” He said Diddy responded, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Cudi told jurors he didn’t see Diddy again until a few years later, also at SoHo House, when Diddy apologized for “all that bull****.”

British Pounds Sterling Online Casinos for Crypto Players in the UK

British Pounds Sterling Online Casinos for Crypto Players in the UK

Online casinos in the UK now support both British Pounds Sterling and cryptocurrency. This shift reflects changes in user habits and payment preferences. Dual currency casino sites allow for deposits and withdrawals in traditional and digital currencies. That flexibility appeals to many, especially those using Bitcoin or Ethereum.

British Pounds online casinos with crypto options offer faster processing and lower transaction fees. Users avoid the usual delays linked to bank transfers. Crypto-friendly casinos UK often accept several coins, with Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Tether among the most common.

Security is another reason for the rising interest. Blockchain transactions reduce reliance on third-party processors. This adds a layer of privacy some users prefer. Meanwhile, the legal status of crypto in the UK remains stable. Users can legally deposit or withdraw using approved wallets.

UK crypto gambling is no longer a niche. It is now a viable option for those who value speed, flexibility, and privacy. As more sites offer both currencies, demand is expected to grow.

Why UK Players Prefer British Pounds

Many users in the UK prefer casinos that support British Pounds. Playing at GBP casinos UK removes the need for currency conversion. This means no extra charges when funding accounts or cashing out. No conversion fees casinos are a clear draw for those using local banks.

British Pound casino payments also link well with local systems. Most GBP sites accept debit cards, Faster Payments, and bank transfers. These methods are familiar, fast, and widely used in the UK. The leading gambling sites usually support these methods, making transactions quicker and more reliable. Users can deposit or withdraw with fewer delays and fewer third-party fees.

Another reason is clarity. When using GBP, terms on bonuses and limits are easier to follow. There’s no guesswork on how much is being spent or credited. This helps users manage budgets more clearly and avoid confusion linked to currency shifts.

Why UK Players Prefer British Pounds

Crypto Payments and Currency Conversion Workaround

Many UK users fund their GBP casino accounts using crypto through a conversion process. This common UK crypto gambling workaround begins by selling digital assets—Bitcoin, Ethereum, or USDT—via a regulated exchange or wallet. Once converted, funds are transferred to a UK bank account.

The next step is simple. Users deposit the fiat currency directly into the casino account. This method allows crypto to GBP casino deposits without needing a crypto-supported site. Bitcoin to bank transfer UK services, such as Coinbase or Binance, support this process and are widely trusted.

One benefit is improved privacy. Using crypto helps limit card-based tracking. Another plus is avoiding international card or currency conversion fees, which often apply with non-GBP deposits.

Still, this method has some limits. It takes more time, usually a day or two. Users must also comply with KYC checks on exchanges. But for many, the extra step is worth the control. For crypto payment conversion UK casinos, this route remains practical and cost-effective.

Recommended GBP Casinos for Crypto-Converting Players

For UK users converting crypto to fiat before playing, several British Pound online casino sites offer fast deposits and reliable service. These leading GBP casinos UK support local payment methods and have good records for payouts and support.

Betfred Casino A long-established name in the UK, Betfred supports debit cards and bank transfers through Faster Payments. Withdrawals to UK banks are often processed within 24 hours. Terms on bonuses are clear and displayed in GBP.

MrQ Known for its fast cashouts and no-wagering bonus system, MrQ is a solid choice for crypto-to-fiat gambling UK. It accepts GBP deposits via debit cards and supports instant withdrawals to UK accounts. It holds a UKGC licence and maintains transparent terms.

Grosvenor Casinos Online Backed by a well-known UK brand, Grosvenor accepts British Pound deposits via debit cards and bank transfers. It offers fast access to funds, usually within one working day. The site presents clear limits and uses familiar payment tools.

All British Casino As the name suggests, it focuses on UK users. It supports only GBP and processes withdrawals quickly to local banks. Accepted methods include debit cards and Trustly. Bonus offers are listed in GBP with detailed terms.

These leading GBP casinos for UK players suit users who prefer fiat deposits after converting crypto.

Security and Transaction Speed in GBP-Focused Casinos

Secure online casinos in the UK that accept GBP follow strict rules set by the UK Gambling Commission. These sites must use SSL encryption to protect user data. Most also include two-factor authentication to guard accounts from unauthorised access.

Bank-level security is applied to all British Pound transactions. This covers both deposits and withdrawals, using trusted casino deposit methods like debit cards, Faster Payments, and bank transfers. Funds are processed through systems with full encryption.

GBP casino safety also includes verified payment gateways and clear KYC checks. These reduce fraud and confirm user identity before cash-outs.

Transaction speed depends on the method. Digital wallets like PayPal or Skrill often process withdrawals within hours. Local bank options, including Faster Payments, usually take 24 hours or less.

Fast UK casino withdrawals are more common now, especially on fully licensed sites. UK users benefit from familiar tools, faster processing, and reliable security systems built into GBP-focused sites. This makes them a trusted choice for regular use.

Final Thoughts: Using Crypto Through GBP Casinos

Using crypto through GBP and crypto conversion casinos gives UK users a practical path to play legally. By converting assets like Bitcoin or USDT into fiat, users get access to fast banking tools and UK-regulated sites. This UK crypto gambling alternative avoids direct crypto use, staying within current rules.

Legal crypto casino access in the UK remains limited, but this two-step method offers strong protection. Users benefit from trusted banks, faster withdrawals, and full compliance with UK standards.

Safe dual-step casino payments depend on verified exchanges and licensed operators. Always check that a site holds a UKGC licence and lists clear terms. This keeps funds and data protected, while keeping the process efficient.

Strategy to Offer $2.1 Billion in ‘Crown Jewel’ Preferred Stock – Decrypt

Strategy to Offer .1 Billion in ‘Crown Jewel’ Preferred Stock – Decrypt

        In brief

Strategy said it plans to offer $2.1 billion of its Perpetual Strife Preferred Stock (STRF).
Unlike the company’s previous offering, preferred shares will be sold at their market price.
Strategy co-founder and Executive Chairman Michael Saylor called STRF the “crown jewel” of the firm’s preferred strategy.

Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, plans to raise $2.1 billion by issuing more preferred stock, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing on Thursday.

Strategy’s Perpetual Strife Preferred Stock (STRF), which was unveiled in March, offers a 10% annual cash dividend. The product, which is only available to institutional investors, has an escalation mechanism, where its payout can increase if Strategy misses payments.

The offering is intended to be a low-volatility option for investors that dovetails with Strategy’s other fundraising initiatives, including plans to raise $21 billion through Strategy’s Perpetual Strike Preferred Stock (STRK) and $21 billion by issuing the firm’s common shares.

Unlike Strategy’s first STRF offering, which was upsized to $723 million from $500 million, the preferred shares will be offered on the Nasdaq at the product’s market price. In a video posted to X, formerly Twitter, Strategy President and CEO Phong Le noted that STRF’s price has increased 16% to $99.8 from its launch price of $85 per share.

“We’ve been very happy with the performance of STRK and STRF since we rolled these out in the first quarter,” he added, highlighting STRF’s $31 million in daily trading volume.

In the video, Strategy co-founder and Executive Chairman Michael Saylor described STRF as “the crown jewel of our preferred strategy.” In that sense, the company is being “choosy” about how much STRF it issues, he added, acknowledging that $2.1 billion is a modest raise compared to Strategy’s other fundraising efforts.

At the end of the day, STRF is unlocking a new class of investors, Saylor said, who might not be comfortable with buying Bitcoin, a “highly volatile stock,” or convertible debt.

“As the market becomes more comfortable with Bitcoin and more comfortable with our preferred strategy, they’ll start to see just how good these instruments are,” he said. “Strife is an instrument to draw a new class of investors into the Bitcoin universe.”

Strategy is the world’s largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, controlling 576,000 Bitcoin worth roughly $64 billion. Earlier this week, the company said that it had added around $764 million worth of the asset to its corporate coffers.

Strategy’s stock price rose 2.8% to $413 on Thursday, according to Yahoo Finance. Although Bitcoin’s price set a fresh all-time high of $111,000, Strategy’s stock price has yet to eclipse an all-time high of $543, seen in November.

With over 150,000 pre-orders already placed, the Seeker builds on lessons from its predecessor, the Solana Saga, and introduces two major innovations: a decentralized mobile infrastructure called TEEPIN and an integrated ecosystem token SKR.

Positioned as a response to the limitations of centralized app ecosystems, the Seeker is designed to give developers direct access to users and empower those users with greater control over their device and identity—without relying on traditional gatekeepers like Apple or Google.

        Key Takeaways

Launch Date: Global shipping begins August 4, 2025, with over 150,000 pre-orders.

Architecture: TEEPIN enables decentralized app delivery, firmware verification, and system updates.

Token Utility: SKR rewards user activity, developer engagement, and hardware support.

On-Chain Identity: Seeker ID combines wallet address, Genesis Token, and secure hardware credentials.

Market Strategy: Solana Mobile plans to license TEEPIN and SKR to other hardware manufacturers.

Solana’s Vision: A Challenge to Apple and Google

According to a co-founder of Solana Labs, Anatoly Yakovenko, the Seeker is not just a device—it’s an attempt to build a top-tier mobile ecosystem that can rival tech giants like Google and Apple:

“The goal of Seeker is to build a top tier mobile ecosystem that can compete with Google and Apple. Crypto is the wedge to do it. TEEPIN is the implementation. Chance of failure – nearly certain, opportunity – enormous.”

He likens the strategy to cloning an iPhone in every way except for the root certificate, which is the key to Apple’s walled garden:

“Apple’s network effects and business models are enforced not with a pen or the sword, but with cryptography and the TEE hardware on device.”

        In the Seeker ecosystem:

All hardware features TEEs (Trusted Execution Environments) that only boot verified OS images.

A DAO on Solana manages the root certificate, determining policies and economic models.

The DAO can enforce rules for app deployment, device access, and revenue distribution directly from the blockchain.

This model offers the possibility of decentralizing one of Apple’s most powerful strategic levers—its hardware-software trust system.

Transforming Mobile OS: How TEEPIN Works

The Seeker’s foundation is TEEPIN (Trusted Execution Environment Platform Infrastructure Network), a decentralized three-layer system that replaces conventional app store models with direct developer-to-user app delivery.

Hardware Layer: Uses cryptographic proofs to ensure system integrity—think of it as a built-in lie detector for your phone’s core software.

Platform Layer: Employs an on-chain registry to validate OS versions and distribute updates.

Network Layer: Maintains a decentralized audit trail for firmware and software changes, increasing transparency and trust.

By eliminating centralized app stores, TEEPIN grants users more control while enabling developers to reach audiences without intermediary restrictions.

SKR Token and Seeker ID: Bridging Blockchain with Hardware

SKR, the Seeker’s native token, drives incentives across the Solana Mobile ecosystem. Users earn SKR by engaging with dApps in verifiable ways. Developers are rewarded based on usage metrics and retain full revenue from their software. Hardware manufacturers also receive SKR for supporting TEEPIN-compatible devices.

Token Distribution Model: SKR is allocated through a tiered reward structure that promotes user engagement, developer growth, and hardware adoption. Further tokenomics, such as total supply and emission schedules, are expected to be released at launch.

To manage identity, each device features a Seeker ID, which links a user’s wallet address, a Genesis Token (embedded in the hardware), and other credentials. These are stored securely via Seed Vault—a tamper-resistant hardware module that safeguards private keys and device integrity.

        Hardware Specs, Pricing, and Availability

The Solana Seeker blends Web3 features with competitive hardware and a global rollout strategy. Key specs include:

        Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 7300

        Memory: 8GB RAM

        Storage: 128GB

        Display: 6.36-inch AMOLED, 120Hz

        Battery: 4500mAh, wireless charging

        Connectivity: 5G-ready

It comes preloaded with Solana dApp Store 2.0, featuring exclusive apps across DeFi, AI, NFTs, and more.

Pricing began at $450 for early Founders and $500 for Early Adopters, with the latter tier still open. Shipping is free worldwide (taxes vary), and Solana Mobile plans to license its platform to other manufacturers.

Competitive Landscape: Seeker vs. Other Web3 Phones

The Seeker enters a growing market of blockchain-enabled smartphones:

Solana Saga: The first-gen model with a dApp store and seed vault. Gained momentum through token airdrops.

HTC Desire 22 Pro: Includes crypto wallets and NFT access, but lacks deeper system decentralization.

JamboPhone: Prioritizes accessibility in emerging markets over performance.

Solana Seeker stands out by decentralizing OS updates and app deployment—a foundational change rather than a surface-level feature addition.

Avalanche surges 11% to $25 after FIFA unveils blockchain and VanEck eyes fund

Avalanche surges 11% to after FIFA unveils blockchain and VanEck eyes fund

Avalanche’s native token, AVAX, is gaining momentum in the current crypto market surge, buoyed by fresh institutional activity and a major partnership with FIFA.

According to CryptoSlate’s data, AVAX surged by 11% in the last 24 hours, reaching $25.16 at the time of reporting. This continues a weeklong trend that has seen the token rise by around 7%.

Notably, this recent upswing coincides with a broader market rally that pushed Bitcoin to new highs of more than $111,000.

Yet, AVAX’s rise appears driven by more than just market sentiment, evidenced by the recent significant developments within its ecosystem. These moves position the blockchain as a go-to platform for scalable, enterprise-ready solutions.

        FIFA Blockchain

On May 22, FIFA officially launched its dedicated Layer-1 blockchain on Avalanche to boost its global access and fan engagement.

According to Avalanche, the new blockchain powers platforms like FIFA Collect, which offers digital collectibles tied to iconic moments in football history and exclusive real-world experiences such as VIP match access.

FIFA has partnered with infrastructure provider Modex to build and maintain the blockchain. The company will oversee both the backend development and the user-facing marketplace.

Modex CEO Francesco Abbate described the initiative as a leap forward for digital fan experiences, highlighting Avalanche’s scalability and ease of integration benefits.

        Avalanche’s dedicated fund

The timing of FIFA’s launch aligns with a wave of institutional interest in Avalanche’s ecosystem.

On May 21, asset manager VanEck revealed plans to launch a dedicated fund focused on Avalanche-based projects in June.

This new vehicle, named the PurposeBuilt fund, will invest in liquid tokens and venture-backed blockchain ventures spanning AI, payments, gaming, and finance.

VanEck also plans to allocate unused capital into tokenized real-world asset markets on Avalanche, helping maintain liquidity while exploring long-term blockchain exposure.

Pranav Kanade, a portfolio manager at Avalanche, said:

“Avalanche has become a magnet for thoughtful builders, and with the VanEck PurposeBuilt Fund, we’re bringing capital and conviction to the founders creating lasting value, not chasing momentum.”

Luxury Price Hikes in 2025 – Impact on Resale Market

Luxury Price Hikes in 2025 – Impact on Resale Market

Think about it: you’ve saved most of your adult life for a $3,000 Chanel Classic Flap. By 2025, you’re finally ready—only to find that same bag has blown past five figures and slipped out of reach again. With Hermès pricing Birkins like compact cars and bare Louis Vuitton canvas ready to cost you as much as a small loan, your coveted dream bag remains just that—a dream.

At first glance, these hikes feel like corporate greed on steroids—but look closer, and you’ll see a calculated pivot. Luxury houses aren’t just covering rising material costs or adjusting for inflation—they’re redrawing the velvet rope. By turning yesterday’s aspirational treat into today’s ultra-exclusive asset, they preserve cachet while inflating margins. It’s not just fashion—it’s a well-thought financial strategy.

So whether you’re a passionate admirer, an aspirational shopper, a resale pro, or simply hoping your closet beats your 401(k), this isn’t doom‑scroll material—it’s a golden ticket, only if you know how to surf the wave. The catch is right here. Higher retail tags lift resale ceilings, supercharge demand for discontinued icons, and send value hunters stampeding to authenticated pre‑owned platforms to invest now and reap profits later!

Got your curiosity antennas up? Grab a cup of coffee and dive in deep!

        1. 2025- The Year of Tariffs

U.S.–China Phase II Leather Duties (effective 1 January 2025). An extra 10 % tariff on finished leather goods and watch components entering the United States.
EU Carbon Border Adjustment (CBAM) Pilot (phased‑in from Q2 2025). Luxury items with exotic skins, precious‑metal casings, or high CO₂ footprints now face a reporting‑plus‑fee regime that will add ~2–3 % to landed cost.
Retaliatory GST Surcharges in Australia (1 July 2025). 5 % luxury‑goods levy on items over AUD 3,000, a direct answer to Europe’s CBAM rules.

Hermès, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton have explicitly said: we’re passing it on.

        Expected Aftermath—6‑to‑18 Month Horizon

Permanent MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) Reset

Tariffs seldom roll back; when they do, luxury houses keep the higher list price and quietly pocket the spread. Expect no discounts even if trade winds improve post‑election.

        Resale Ceiling Lifts Again

Every percentage‑point duty lifts secondary pricing by roughly 0.6 % within three months, based on 2020‑2023 tariff data. For a $12,000 Birkin, that’s an extra $70–80 in resale value per duty point.

        Supply Chain Shuffle

Brands will accelerate “Friend‑shoring” to tariff‑neutral countries (Vietnam for leather small goods, Switzerland for watch assembly), but cost savings will not be passed along—margins will.

        Regional Price Convergence

The historical 20–25 % spread between Paris and New York tags could shrink to single digits as Europe raises prices to CBAM‑proof margins and the U.S. embeds tariff costs.

        Investor Play: Buy Ex‑Tariff Stock

Inventory acquired in low‑duty zones (EU duty‑free airports, GCC malls) commands instant mark‑ups when listed on U.S.‑facing resale platforms.

Tariffs are the stealth tax consumers grumble about but still pay—because the badge matters more than the bill.

        2. Global Economic Shifts: From “Aspirational” to “Ultra‑Exclusive”

Shrinking middle class in the West and a K‑shaped recovery mean fewer “one‑and‑done” aspirational buyers.
Surging wealth in GCC and SE Asia lets brands replace volume with margin—fewer units, higher tickets, stronger aura.
Demand elasticity flips: Higher prices now create demand by signaling gated membership.

Luxury has stopped flirting with the top 10 %; it openly courts the top 1 %.

        3. Currency Volatility — USD / EUR / JPY

The USD’s 18-month bull run—hovering around $1 = €0.88 in Q2 2025—has made European luxury a steal for American tourists. This gap created a booming arbitrage market, with buyers snapping up bags in Paris and flipping them in New York for profit.

Brand response? Price harmonization. Major houses like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Hermès have quietly raised EU retail prices by 8–12%, bringing them closer to U.S. levels. The goal is clear: kill cross-border price arbitrage, protect brand integrity, and maintain resale discipline.

Yen Weakness and Japan’s Shadow Price Hikes

On the flip side, Japan’s yen depreciation (trading at multi-decade lows vs the USD and RMB) has made Tokyo boutiques a grey-market goldmine—especially for Chinese daigou shoppers, who buy luxury goods overseas to resell them back home for a profit.

To counteract this, brands have resorted to:

Shadow price hikes (in-store price adjustments without official announcements),
        Restricting bulk purchases and
Stock segmentation (limiting high-demand styles to domestic consumers).

In essence, Japan becomes a retail fortress, protecting against resale leakage while preserving perceived scarcity in high-demand markets like China.

Luxury brands operate on global prestige, not local discounts. Currency imbalances distort that image. So when FX swings make one country “cheaper,” brands react fast to preserve pricing parity and prevent region-hopping arbitrage. It’s not just about margins—it’s about protecting the brand’s global ecosystem.

        4. Inflation- Fanning the Flames of Price Hike or Just a Cover-Up

Raw material, labor, and logistics costs climbed with global inflation, and luxury houses definitely name‑check “higher input costs” in every earnings call. But the numbers don’t line up:

If inflation alone explained the hikes, you’d expect low‑single‑digit MSRP bumps, not Hermès tacking on 12 % in Europe or Chanel vaulting the Flap over € 10k.

What inflation does provide is cover.

With consumers already acclimated to paying more for everything—from groceries to airfare—luxury groups can ratchet up prices under the same headline umbrella. But their real motives are strategic:

Signal Ultra‑Exclusivity – Higher tags create scarcity without slashing production.
Margin Protection – Price is the only meaningful lever when volume stalls (see Kering, Burberry).
Tariff & FX Padding – Inflation rhetoric masks geopolitical surcharges that would otherwise spark outrage.

Net‑net: Inflation sets the stage but is merely a supporting actor. The starring role belongs to brand strategy—pricing as a status‑gate, a margin guardrail, and an asset‑class amplifier.

        5. Profit Desperation: 2024’s Luxury Slowdown—Price Hikes as a Last‑Resort Lifeline

When unit growth stalls, there’s only one dial left to twist: price. That reality hit hard in 2024. Hermès was the lone titan, posting double‑digit gains—revenue up 13 % and operating profit up 17 %—and it still flexed with January and May hikes simply because it could. Richemont eked out a 4 % top‑line lift (thanks almost entirely to Cartier and Van Cleef jewelry), but wafer‑thin 2 % profit growth pushed it to “moderate” 5‑8 % price bumps across bracelets and watches. Everyone else was underwater: LVMH slipped 2 % on revenue and 5 % on operating profit, so Louis Vuitton and Dior executed 8‑10 % back-to-back increases. Kering’s Gucci‑led slump—revenue down 12 %, profit down 15 %—forced double‑digit lifts on Gucci and Saint Laurent to protect margins. Burberry fared worst, with a 7 % revenue drop and a brutal 19 % margin hit; the remedy was an immediate 10 % surcharge on its trench coats and signature check bags.

In short, Hermès hiked because it wanted to; the rest hiked because they had to. Because profit sagged everywhere, 2025’s big price jumps stopped being a flashy show-off move and became a must-do strategy- the quickest way to calm nervous investors and keep margins alive.

        Brand

        Love Bracelet $8.1 k+
        “Metal volatility”
Lift Love Bracelet (halo piece) floor price

P.S.Richemont’s public “no sharp price hikes” stance for Cartier rings hollow once you factor in February’s stealth 8 % bump across Love and Juste un Clou. The press release referenced “moderate” increases; consumers saw three‑figure jumps.

Ripple Effects: What Happens After the Hike

So, the price tags went up. What next? These aren’t just numbers on a receipt—they reshape behavior across the entire luxury food chain. Here’s what happens in the real world after the price surge:

        1. The “Waitlist Effect” Intensifies

As MSRPs (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) soar, shoppers flock to boutiques hoping to lock in old prices. But with production capped and demand inflated by panic buying, waitlists for Birkins, Classic Flaps, and exclusive collabs stretch longer than ever. Scarcity becomes its own marketing machine.

        2. Sub-Brands Get Their Moment

As Chanel Flaps breach €10K and Hermès stretches Birkin tags to small-car territory, savvy buyers start exploring “next-tier” names—like Loewe, Celine, or Moynat—for better value. This shifts demand downstream and brings lesser-known houses into the spotlight.

        3. Price Anchoring Rewires Perception

Once a Flap costs €10,800, a €6,000 bag suddenly feels like a deal. Strategic price hikes recalibrate what consumers perceive as “normal,” nudging even mid-tier buyers upmarket.

        4. “Aspirational” Consumers Sit Out—For Now

Those saving up for that one dream bag? They hit pause or pivot.

Expect greater demand for entry-tier items (think LV wallets, Gucci mini bags, and Chanel cardholders).
Some will move to alternative brands—Telfar, Polène, or indie ateliers—as “quiet luxury” stays hot.

        5. Resale Becomes the New Retail

When retail prices leapfrog, buyers turn to the pre-owned market for savings and access. You’re no longer buying second hand—you’re buying smart, skipping the waitlist, and scoring retired colorways or vintage gems.

        6. Emotional Purchases Become Financial Ones

Luxury shoppers once bought for joy; now they justify it with ROI.

        A $12,000 Birkin isn’t just a splurge—it’s a flexible, wearable asset.
Expect more collectors to track resale performance like stocks, even using resale data dashboards.

        7. Authentication Becomes a Bigger Deal

Higher resale value = higher counterfeit risk. Buyers demand better proof and guaranteed authenticity.

Expect more platforms to offer certificates, digital ledgers, or blockchain-backed verification.
Brands may even step in (think: QR-embedded microchips in bags) to reclaim the trust economy.
Authentic reselling platforms like The Luxury Closet will enjoy more footfall and sales.

How Price Hikes Push Up Resale Value—and Demand for Pre-Owned

When luxury retail prices spike, the resale market doesn’t just react—it thrives. Here’s how the dynamics shift:

        1. Resale Values Rise (and Fast)

When retail prices jump, resale doesn’t lag behind. Think of it like a rising tide—everything floats higher.

Every price bump at the boutique raises the resale ceiling. A Chanel Classic Flap that retailed at $7,800 last year and now lists for $10,200? That jump gives its pre-owned counterpart more room to climb—often appreciating 5–15% in resale value within months, especially for in-demand styles like Birkins, Flaps, and limited-edition collabs.
Even older models and discontinued lines see renewed interest—what was “vintage” will now become a “value grab.”

        2. Resellers and Flippers Get Strategic

With higher ceilings, resellers grow more selective and speculative.

“Buy low, list high” becomes a timing game—especially for limited editions or bags about to be discontinued.

Ex-tariff stock becomes a goldmine if listed in high-duty markets like the U.S.

         3. Discontinued = Goldmine

Legacy models, special editions, and retired colorways become exponentially more valuable post-hike. Why? Because they’re no longer available at retail, they are now benchmarked against higher current MSRPs. A discontinued Louis Vuitton Multicolore or old Caviar Flap now feels like a steal—and demand explodes.

        4. Smart Shoppers Go Pre-Owned First

With retail increasingly pricing out even affluent aspirants, more buyers turn to trusted resale platforms to get their dream bag without hemorrhaging five figures. Authenticated marketplaces have become the new frontline for both first-time luxury buyers and seasoned collectors.

        5. The Investment Pitch Gets Stronger

As bags appreciate faster than index funds, more consumers start treating luxury as an asset class. Pre-owned becomes not just a fallback—it’s a financial strategy, especially when buying low (pre-hike stock) and selling high (post-hike conditions).

        6. Inventory From Duty-Free Zones Becomes Hot Property

Sellers who source items from low-tariff markets—like GCC countries, Swiss boutiques, or EU airports—gain pricing power instantly. Once listed online, their stock commands premium markups in high-duty regions like the U.S. and Australia.

Here’s a little luxury physics: Newton’s Third Law’s application. For every action, there’s an equal and opposite reaction. The luxury price hike? That’s the action. The reaction? A full-blown resale revolution. As retail tags soar, so does the appeal (and value) of pre-owned pieces. Buyers get priced out, resellers get strategic, and suddenly, the secondary market isn’t playing catch-up—it’s leading the game. Interesting, right!
