Beyond Biology: The Bionic Hand That Survives a Volvo and Threads a Needle | Metaverse Planet

Beyond Biology: The Bionic Hand That Survives a Volvo and Threads a Needle | Metaverse Planet

I literally had to pause the video, rub my eyes, and rewind. I couldn’t believe what I was watching. We talk so much about artificial intelligence living in the cloud, generating images, or writing code, but when you put that intelligence into a physical, mechanical body, the game completely changes. I am talking about a newly showcased robotic hand that is pulling off feats I genuinely thought were still decades away.

It feels like I am watching the beginning of the end for human biology as we know it.

We’ve seen robotic hands before. Usually, they are clunky, fragile, and slow. But this? This is something else entirely. It is so incredibly precise that it can effortlessly thread a tiny needle, yet it possesses a structural integrity so insane that it survives getting run over by a massive Volvo SUV without a single scratch. Let’s break down why this specific technological leap is making me question everything I thought I knew about the future of our physical bodies.

The “Volvo Test”: Redefining Extreme Durability

When I research bionics and prosthetics, the biggest hurdle engineers always complain about is the trade-off between weight, dexterity, and durability. If you want a hand that is light enough to wear and agile enough to type on a keyboard, you usually have to use lightweight plastics and delicate motors. If you bump it against a doorframe too hard, it breaks.

But watching a multi-ton Volvo roll directly over this robotic hand—and seeing the hand simply flex its mechanical fingers afterward as if nothing happened—completely shatters that old engineering rulebook.

Industrial-Grade Materials: This isn’t your standard 3D-printed prosthetic. We are looking at advanced alloys and shock-absorbing synthetic joints that distribute extreme weight perfectly.Zero-Compromise Engineering: To survive a crush test of that magnitude means the internal actuators and micro-sensors are shielded in a way that mimics, or perhaps even surpasses, the human skeletal structure.

While researching this, I found myself looking at my own biological hand. If a car runs over my hand, it’s game over. Months of surgery, physical therapy, and permanent damage. This machine just brushed it off.

From Crushing Weight to Micro-Precision

Being indestructible is cool, but a steel anvil is indestructible. What makes a hand a hand is its dexterity.

The exact same bionic appendage that laughed off a car tire was then shown holding a tiny piece of thread and guiding it through the microscopic eye of a needle. I don’t know about you, but I struggle to do that with my own natural hands on a good day.

Achieving this requires a symphony of technology:

Haptic Feedback Loops: The hand isn’t just moving blindly; it’s likely using advanced sensors to “feel” resistance, adjusting its grip strength on a micro-millimeter level.AI-Driven Motor Control: The sheer computing power required to translate intent into such minute mechanical movements is staggering. It’s not just programmed to pinch; it understands the spatial reality of the needle and the thread.

The “Spare Parts” Paradigm: Are We Upgrading?

This brings me to a realization that gave me goosebumps. We are rapidly moving away from an era of medical healing and stepping firmly into an era of medical replacement.

Think about it. Historically, if a limb was injured or failing, the entire medical field was dedicated to trying to repair the biological tissue. But when a mechanical replacement becomes objectively superior to the original biological part—when it is immune to pain, immune to fatigue, and completely indestructible—the philosophy changes.

I really think we are stepping into a crazy new era where humans will just get “spare parts.”

Joint pain? Just swap out the knee.Arthritis in your hands? Upgrade to a bionic model that never cramps.Dangerous professions? Firefighters or construction workers could opt for reinforced limbs that can punch through debris or handle extreme heat without blistering.

It sounds like a sci-fi movie, but the hardware is literally sitting right in front of us today. We are looking at the birth of the true cyborg.

What This Means for Us

I don’t want to sound like a doomsday prophet. Actually, I’m incredibly optimistic about what this means for accessibility. For amputees, this technology isn’t just a tool; it’s a profound restoration of independence, offering a quality of life that exceeds what was lost.

But as a tech enthusiast, I can’t help but look at the broader implications. If technology continues at this pace, these “prosthetics” will soon be marketed not just to those who need them, but to those who want them. We might soon see a societal divide between the biologicals and the upgraded.

This bionic hand proves that the barrier isn’t hardware anymore. The only thing left to figure out is how seamlessly we can connect these machines to the human nervous system so they feel like a natural extension of our own minds.

I’m sitting here typing this with ten fragile, biological fingers, and honestly, it makes me wonder about our future. If you had the money and the surgical option tomorrow, would you replace your perfectly healthy, biological arm with a flawless, indestructible robotic one?

Let me know what you think in the comments—I’ll be reading every single one!

The Magic of Self-Healing Concrete: How Bacteria Are Saving Our Cities | Metaverse Planet

The Magic of Self-Healing Concrete: How Bacteria Are Saving Our Cities | Metaverse Planet

Every time I walk past scaffolding clinging to an aging bridge or notice the deep fractures in the sidewalks of my city, I find myself thinking about a fundamental flaw in human engineering. We have built our entire modern world on concrete. It is the second most consumed material on Earth after water. Yet, it has a fatal weakness: it cracks.

For decades, we’ve just accepted this as an inevitable fact of life. Concrete cracks, water seeps in, the steel reinforcements rust, and eventually, the whole structure needs a massive, expensive overhaul. But while I was digging into the latest advancements in construction technology, I stumbled upon a breakthrough that honestly blew my mind.

We are no longer just relying on steel and cement to hold our cities together. We are recruiting biology. Today, I want to talk to you about smart concrete—specifically, bio-concrete that literally heals its own wounds using dormant bacteria.

Let’s dive into how this incredible intersection of biotechnology and engineering is about to rewrite the rules of architecture.

The Anatomy of a Flawed Giant

To understand why bio-concrete is such a game-changer, we first need to look at why traditional concrete fails.

When I look at a massive skyscraper, it seems invincible. But at a microscopic level, concrete is constantly under stress. While it can handle an immense amount of compression (weight pushing down on it), it is terrible at handling tension (being pulled apart).

Micro-cracks are inevitable: Changes in temperature, ground settling, and heavy loads cause tiny fractures. The water invasion: These micro-cracks act like highways for rainwater and moisture. The rust factor: Once water reaches the steel rebar hidden inside the concrete, the steel rusts, expands, and blows the concrete apart from the inside out.

The traditional solution? Send out a crew, block traffic, tear out the bad concrete, and pour new stuff. It is ridiculously expensive and incredibly disruptive. I’ve always thought there had to be a smarter way, and it turns out, nature had the blueprint all along.

Enter the Microscopic Masons: What is Bio-Concrete?

When I first read the term “living concrete,” I pictured a sci-fi scenario where buildings are grown like trees. The reality is far more practical, but just as fascinating.

Bio-concrete is essentially standard concrete mixed with a very special, secret ingredient: spores of specific bacteria (usually from the Bacillus family) and a food source called calcium lactate.

Here is the part that genuinely amazed me during my research: these bacteria are naturally found near active volcanoes and highly alkaline lakes. They are extreme survivors. When mixed into the wet concrete, they don’t die. Instead, they form thick-walled spores and go to sleep.

They can lie completely dormant inside a dry concrete wall for up to 200 years, just waiting for their moment to strike.

How the Healing Magic Happens

So, how do these sleeping microbes fix a bridge? Let’s walk through the process. It’s an elegant, automated response system built directly into the material.

The Trigger: A micro-crack forms in the concrete due to stress or weathering. The Wake-Up Call: Rainwater seeps into the crack. As soon as moisture and oxygen touch the dormant spores, the bacteria wake up.The Feast: The newly awakened bacteria start consuming the calcium lactate that was mixed into the concrete alongside them. The Repair: As the bacteria digest their food, a chemical reaction occurs. They excrete calcium carbonate—which is, essentially, hard limestone.

Within a matter of weeks, this limestone builds up and completely seals the crack, preventing water from reaching the steel rebar inside. Once the crack is sealed and the moisture dries up, the bacteria simply go back to sleep.

It’s an infinite loop of self-maintenance. When I think about the sheer genius of using biology as an automated repair crew, it makes traditional concrete look like a relic of the stone age.

Why This is a Massive Deal for Our Future

It’s easy to look at this as just a cool science experiment, but the implications are staggering. If we start building our infrastructure with bio-concrete, the ripple effects will change our economies and our environment.

1. Slashing Maintenance Costs

Governments and private companies spend billions of dollars every single year just patching up decaying infrastructure. If a bridge can autonomously heal its own micro-cracks before they become structural failures, the lifespan of that bridge could double or triple. The cost savings over a few decades would be astronomical.

2. The Ultimate Sustainability Move

This is the angle that resonates with me the most. Cement production is one of the dirtiest industries on the planet, responsible for roughly 8% of global carbon dioxide emissions.

If we can make our buildings and bridges last 100 years instead of 50 years, we dramatically reduce the amount of new cement we need to produce. Self-healing structures aren’t just cheaper to maintain; they are a critical weapon in the fight against climate change.

3. Conquering the Impossible Environments

Imagine underwater tunnels, offshore wind turbine foundations, or deep underground bunkers. Repairing concrete in these environments is currently dangerous and nearly impossible. Bio-concrete thrives exactly where traditional maintenance fails. When water attacks an underwater column, the bacteria simply wake up and reinforce the wall.

The Reality Check: What’s Holding Us Back?

As much as I love this technology, I always want to keep things grounded in reality. So, why aren’t all new buildings made of bio-concrete today?

The short answer is the price tag.

Currently, adding these bacterial spores and calcium lactate to the mix makes the concrete roughly twice as expensive as traditional concrete. For developers looking to cut upfront costs on a residential building, that’s a tough pill to swallow.

However, from what I’m seeing in the industry, researchers are aggressively looking for cheaper food sources for the bacteria (like agricultural waste) to bring costs down. And when you calculate the total “lifecycle cost” of a structure—including decades of zero maintenance—bio-concrete is actually a bargain. It just requires a shift in how we invest in our infrastructure.

The Cities of Tomorrow

We are standing on the edge of a new era in construction. The idea of “dead” materials is fading. In the future, I believe our cities will function more like living organisms—structures that sense damage, react to their environment, and heal their own wounds.

This isn’t just about mixing bugs into cement; it’s a fundamental shift in engineering philosophy. We are finally learning to work with nature rather than just paving over it.

I’m incredibly excited to see the first major skyscrapers and bridges built entirely from self-healing materials. But I’m curious about how you view this shift.

If you were buying a house today, would you feel safer knowing the walls were “alive” and capable of healing themselves, or does the idea of living bacteria in your living room walls feel a little too strange? Let me know what you think!

Ioan Gruffudd and Alice Evans‘ split is proving more acrimonious by the day as the estranged couple continues to hurl unsettling accusations at each other.

The actor told the court during their divorce trial on Friday that Evans actually had $100,000 in the account despite begging for money from fans.

A judge has since handed Ioan Gruffudd a renewed five-year restraining order against Alice Evans as their court battle rages on.

Gruffudd has come forward with shocking new claims against his ex-wife, Alice Evans.

According to the Daily Mail, during a divorce trial at the LA Superior Court on Friday, the “Fantastic Four” actor told the court that while Evans was publicly pleading for financial assistance from her fans and social media followers, she was in fact sitting on a six-figure bank balance.

The “Vampire Diaries” actress had gone public with her supposed financial constraints, claiming she was “broke” and unable to afford groceries and take care of their daughters, Ella and Elsie, since she separated from their father in 2021.

Evans also said she was worried about becoming homeless due to her financial struggle. This prompted fans to donate thousands of dollars to a GoFundMe she created.

Gruffudd told the court that Evans said on social media that she started the GoFundMe “because her world had fallen apart…she was a struggling single mother who had exhausted all her resources and accounts and had no money for food and no help.”

However, the actor alleged that at the time Evans made the social media plea for help, “she was living in the family residence and [he] was paying all her expenses. By her own account, she had about $100,000.”

The ex-couple has been at each other’s throats for years now, with Evans seeking the court to increase the $1,500 monthly payment she gets in spousal support.

However, Gruffudd wants the court to cancel the payment altogether because of her “persistent domestic abuse” of him and her “many violations of a previous restraining order.”

According to the news outlet, he also claimed he had already “overpaid” her to the tune of almost $400,000.

As the court session proceeded, Gruffudd’s lawyers grilled Evans about a $90,000 fee she withdrew from their joint account and allegedly stashed away with their nanny.

She admitted to paying the sums of $10,000, $30,000, and two tranches of $24,000 to the nanny, but claimed that the domestic help was battling cancer and the money was an advance payment for her service so that she could attend to her health.

Elsewhere during the court session, Evans maintained that her age has affected her chances of getting movie roles in Hollywood and that she hasn’t featured in any project since 2016, which has seemingly impacted her finances.

She also claimed that she suffers from an autoimmune disease that “can affect my ability to work…But I haven’t had a flare-up for three years.”

The “Lost” actress noted that she relies on “gifts from family, friends, and fans” to cover her bills,  but admitted to Gruffudd’s lawyers that she has not tried looking for any job outside acting with her other skills, which include fluency in French.

“If I could earn enough money to support my children, I would be willing to move into a different field,” she said.

The Actress Suffered A Legal Setback

Gruffudd scored a huge win against Evans in March when Judge Michael Convey renewed his domestic violence restraining order for five years, per the Daily Mail.

The actor had recounted a years-long campaign of online harassment and abuse she waged against him and his new wife, Bianca Wallace, which caused him to seek an initial restraining order in 2022.

Evans Admitted That She hadn’t kept to her best behavior online and was often trash-talking them in several social media posts.

She then offered her apologies to them and told the court how “ashamed and regretful” she was of her behavior, but the judge didn’t take it, citing that she’d violated the initial restraining order “multiple” times.

Despite Evans’ pleas, Judge Convey proceeded to renew Gruffudd’s restraining order, noting that she carried out a “concerted, focused, intentional and caustic campaign of denigration” aimed at Gruffudd and Wallace.

He stated that Evans’s “threats of force and intimidation….caused Ioan to fear for his and Bianca’s physical safety,” and that her “pattern of abuse” kept him isolated from their children.

“Her vow to ‘dedicate her life to fighting him’ and ruin his career threatened his ability to provide for his children,” the judge added.

A Long-Finished HBO Western Drama Still Outshines Yellowstone, According To Rotten Tomatoes – SlashFilm

      0
A Long-Finished HBO Western Drama Still Outshines Yellowstone, According To Rotten Tomatoes – SlashFilm

Audiences absolutely loved Taylor Sheridan’s neo-Western series “Yellowstone.” They loved it so much, in fact, that there around a half-dozen “Yellowstone” spin-offs, making the Dutton ranching family a pretty major part of contemporary television. The flagship series follows John Dutton III (Kevin Costner), the patriarch of the Dutton family and head honcho of the largest ranch in Montana, Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, along with his three natural children and adopted son Jamie (Wes Bentley). “Yellowstone” is soapy, chaotic television that sometimes doesn’t make a ton of sense, but that’s also why it’s a lot of fun and has become such a successful show.

Some folks might consider “Yellowstone” to be the best Western show ever, but critics would be quick to point to the HBO series “Deadwood.” Seriously, “Deadwood” is the best Western TV series of all time and it’s not even all that close, and the critic scores on Rotten Tomatoes support that claim. “Deadwood” has a Rotten Tomatoes critic’s score of 92%, beating out the 83% held by “Yellowstone” by a fair margin. We will have to wait and see how “Yellowstone” fares with the passage of time, as it’s only finished fairly recently, but “Deadwood” ended nearly 20 years ago and it’s still truly an all-timer.

Deadwood is a profane but nuanced look at life on the frontier

Created by “NYPD Blue” co-creator David Milch, “Deadwood” was a violent and profane look at 1870s South Dakota and the wild American frontier. The series had a sprawling ensemble cast of characters based on real-life figures, and was led by Timothy Olyphant as Deadwood sheriff and hardware store co-owner Seth Bullock and Ian McShane as the antagonistic saloon owner Al Swearengen. As they would in real life, the characters grow and change as a result of their harsh and often horrific experiences trying to make civilization out of anarchy, making “Deadwood” extremely compelling television that is ultimately timeless.

While many of the classic Westerns that inspired “Yellowstone” glorified the grit of the old West without ever contending with the problematic parts, “Deadwood” has more in common with great Revisionist Westerns which force audiences to reckon with the good, bad, and the ugly of the era, even if it’s uncomfortable. There are no easy heroes, and even those with the best intentions can end up doing some pretty dark deeds, and that complexity has helped “Deadwood” stay relevant and relatable two decades after it was made.

The bummer is that “Deadwood” was cancelled after only three seasons, although a 2019 “Deadwood” movie served as the perfect farewell to a show that ended all too soon. “Deadwood” is more brutal than “Yellowstone” (and a lot more vulgar), but fans of the latter should find a lot to love in this now-classic TV Western. Just don’t watch it with grandma.

RAKIA Achieves CMMC Level 1 Compliance, Expanding Access to U.S. Defense Contracts and Accelerating Federal Growth Strategy | Web3Wire

      RAKIA Logo

WASHINGTON, April 04, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — RAKIA, a provider of advanced AI-powered data fusion intelligence and real-time decision support systems, today announced it has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 1 compliance, a key requirement for participation in U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) contracts and a critical milestone in its ongoing U.S. expansion.

As cybersecurity requirements are now embedded across procurement within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB), CMMC is rapidly becoming a mandatory gateway to the more than $800 billion U.S. defense market. Industry estimates indicate that many contractors remain unprepared for certification, creating a clear advantage for organizations that have already aligned with the framework.

With this certification, RAKIA has implemented foundational cybersecurity controls required to safeguard Federal Contract Information (FCI), enabling expanded participation in DoD programs, federal and state-level initiatives, law enforcement operations, and partnerships across the defense ecosystem. The milestone strengthens the company’s growing presence in Washington, D.C., and supports its expanding pipeline across public sector opportunities.

As enforcement of CMMC accelerates, compliance is increasingly viewed not only as a regulatory requirement but also as a strategic growth lever, directly impacting market access, procurement velocity, and long-term revenue visibility. Organizations that achieve certification early are positioned to access compliance-gated contracts, reduce friction in procurement cycles, and establish themselves as trusted providers within highly regulated environments.

RAKIA Achieves CMMC Level 1 Compliance.

RAKIA Achieves CMMC Level 1 Compliance.

“CMMC Level 1 is not just a compliance milestone; it is a strategic enabler for operating in the most demanding environments,” said Omri Raiter, Founder and CEO of RAKIA Group. “As cybersecurity becomes a core requirement for participation in defense programs, organizations must combine advanced technology with proven compliance to remain competitive. This achievement strengthens RAKIA’s ability to support U.S. government partners while accelerating our expansion across the federal market.”

RAKIA’s platforms are designed for real-time, mission-critical environments, transforming fragmented and complex data into actionable intelligence for operational teams. With this foundational certification in place, the company is advancing its roadmap toward higher CMMC levels, supporting increasingly sensitive and complex operational requirements across defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure sectors.

RAKIA delivers advanced AI-powered data intelligence and real-time fusion platforms that enable organizations to move from fragmented information to clear, actionable insight, supporting faster, more informed, and secure decision-making. With a growing presence in Washington, D.C., the company continues to expand its footprint across U.S. federal, state, and law enforcement markets.

Characters that Should Return in Resident Evil: Requiem DLC

Characters that Should Return in Resident Evil: Requiem DLC

Resident Evil Requiem brings back the fan favorite character Leon Kennedy and introduces us to a new character, Grace Ashcroft. Not only this, but it brings players back to Raccoon City — a location we have not been to in a very long time.

Resident Evil Requiem: 10 Things We’re Hoping to in the DLC

The DLC for Resident Evil Requiem is currently in the works, and there are plenty of things we hope to see when we finally play it.

Despite being full of nostalgia and references to past games, Resident Evil Requiem does little to bring back some of the series’ major characters who I feel should make an appearance. Since the game will be getting some future DLC, there is hope that we will see some of the best characters in the Resident Evil series once more. The only question is who is most deserving of a return.

      8

      Rebecca Chambers

      No Longer a Rookie

      Resident Evil 0 Rebecca Chambers

It is easy to forget about Rebecca Chambers. After all, she has made minimal game appearances, with her only appearing in Resident Evil, Resident Evil 0, and Umbrella Chronicles. You could count Resident Evil 5 as well, since she appears in the mercenaries mode.

Despite only being in a few properties, she is a beloved character by those who have played the early games in the series. Along with this, she was in Raccoon City, making her a prime candidate to have Raccoon City Syndrome.

Rebecca is still a consultant for the BSAA, which means she could easily make an appearance as an advisor of sorts for Chris’ team. Her expertise in biochemistry would be useful as well.

      7

      Sheva Alomar

      Sheva!

      Resident Evil 5 Sheva

Sheva is probably the only character who has made fewer appearances in the Resident Evil franchise than Rebecca. Maybe it is because Capcom got tired of players complaining about Chris screaming her name in Resident Evil 5.

With how few appearances Sheva has made in the series, it would be nice to see her again, and since she worked alongside Chris in the BSAA, there is a through line to pull her back into the action.

It is unlikely that Sheva will make an appearance since she will most likely remain at the West Africa branch of the BSAA, but Chris could use her help in future endeavors, and since she wouldn’t have Raccoon City Syndrome, she might be an important asset.

      6

      Chris Redfield

      Punch Another Boulder

      Resident Evil 8 Chris

Chris is all but confirmed to be in the DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, but I still think that he should make an appearance, despite me being tired of seeing him. At the end of Requiem, The Wolves descend upon Raccoon City, giving aid to both Leon and Grace.

With his specialized team from the BSAA making an appearance, it is likely that Chris will be there as well. Future DLC should give him the spotlight, however, because he is yet another prime candidate to have the infamous Raccoon City Syndrome.

We could see a DLC where he must work to cure multiple people who have contracted this illness. It would also be a good excuse to bring in some other key characters from the series.

      5

      Barry Burton

      Bravo Team

Resident Evil Revelations 2 Barry Burton

Barry Burton was one of the key supporting characters in the original Resident Evil title. Along with this, he has made numerous appearances throughout the franchise, and he is even mentioned in Resident Evil Requiem.

Requiem is the perfect opportunity to bring back the Bravo Team from the original game and have them face another threat. Perhaps they could go back to the mansion where it all started.

We could see Barry coming back into the fold and aiding in handling the Raccoon City Syndrome. Of course, there are plenty of other characters who could be involved as well.

      4

      Carlos Oliveira

      Another Survivor

      Resident Evil 3 Carlos

Carlos is yet another survivor of Raccoon City, and another prime candidate to have Raccoon City Syndrome. Similar to Rebecca, he also hasn’t been seen in a mainline Resident Evil title in some time, with his first major appearance being in Resident Evil 3.

With how long it has been, it is time for Carlos to get back into the game. Apparently, he now resides in South America, but the call of Raccoon City is strong, and there are numerous threats that could bring him back.

It would be great for characters who played vital roles in the first few games to come back, but there are more characters than just Carlos who should be there.

      3

      Claire Redfield

      Brother and Sister

      Resident Evil 2 Claire

One thing that bugged us about Resident Evil Requiem is that Claire was nowhere to be found. She wasn’t even mentioned in any of the game’s files or puzzles.

We all remember Claire as being the sister of Chris Redfield, but more importantly, she was one of the primary protagonists of Resident Evil 2 — taking up the role alongside Leon Kennedy.

Thanks to this history with Leon and Sherry, it feels necessary for Claire to make an appearance in an upcoming DLC. At the very least, she should check in to make sure Leon and Chris are okay. Of course, we also have to mention that if Leon was sick, Claire should be sick as well.

      Jill Valentine

      Fans Have Been Asking

      Resident Evil 3 Jill

When leaks about Resident Evil Requiem were circulating online, many of them said that Jill Valentine would be making a return to the franchise alongside Leon Kennedy. Unfortunately, these leaks ended up being untrue, but perhaps they were talking about future DLC.

It is no secret that fans have been asking for the return of Jill Valentine. After all, the last mainline game appearance she made was in Resident Evil 5 when we saved her from Wesker, so it would be nice to have her as a playable character once more.

Perhaps the leaks were talking about Jill’s reappearance. She could arrive in the DLC to aid the Wolves to pay Chris back for saving her life.

      1

      Ada Wong

      The Love Interest

      Resident Evil 4 Ada Wong

If there is any character that fans would love to see reunite with Leon, it is Ada Wong. She first appeared in Resident Evil 2 and aided Leon in escaping Raccoon City.

After that, she appeared once more in Resident Evil 4 — another game with Leon as the primary protagonist. Finally, she appeared in Resident Evil 6. Yet again, this is a game where Leon plays a major role.

It seems that wherever Leon goes, Ada follows, so it only feels natural that she would make an appearance in Resident Evil Requiem. With all this being said, we should get a DLC focused on Ada coming back to check on her boy Leon.

      Key Highlights

Brian Armstrong proposed Shenzhen-style special economic zones to accelerate crypto and tech innovation in the U.S.

Coinbase itself has been active in such areas, having already invested in Prospera, a pioneering charter city project in Honduras.

Armstrong has so far proposed 10 dedicated U.S. zones in 2025, one specifically for crypto.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong urged the United States to create Shenzhen-style special economic zones.

In a recent interview with the Relentless Podcast, Armstrong said, “I hope we get to make like a crypto city or some special economic zones in the US. I think we want these sandboxes for innovation for a lot of things.” He argued that regulatory-light zones, designed as innovation sandboxes, could support the growth of crypto and other emerging technologies.

Armstrong added that zones modeled on hubs such as Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Dubai could help the U.S. stay competitive in sectors like crypto, biotech, and drones. He also described a vision of “free cities” with minimal regulatory barriers.

      Why the SEZ model

Shenzhen transformed from a fishing village into a major technology center after being designated a Special Economic Zone in 1980. Armstrong suggested that similar zones in the U.S. could allow companies to test new technologies, including decentralized finance and drone systems, under more flexible regulatory conditions.

Coinbase itself has been active in such areas, having already invested in Prospera, a pioneering charter city project in Honduras that is also designed to be crypto-native with a heavy use of digital assets for payments, governance, and economic activity. With this, it signals the company’s real-world commitment to such models.

      Armstrong’s long-standing vision

Armstrong has advocated for special economic zones for several years. In 2025, he proposed the creation of 10 such zones in the U.S., including one specifically for crypto.

His proposal comes at a crucial time when the U.S. is already leading in Bitcoin institutionalization and has been backed politically under the current pro-crypto government. At the same time, the fragmented regulation continuously hinders on-chain regulations, primarily in areas such as Asia and the Middle East.

Here, SEZs could act as backup options for Western institutions, permitting faster iteration on technologies such as stablecoin infrastructure and decentralized applications.

      Broader context

If the proposed zones are adopted, then it would help in repatriating crypto talent and capital, boost on-chain economic activity, and position the U.S. as a true “crypto capital.”

Armstrong sees these free cities as broader experiments in governance that align with Coinbase’s mission of creating greater economic freedom through blockchain technology.

The Guide to the Next Crypto to Explode: BlockDAG, BNB, XRP, and Dogecoin

The Guide to the Next Crypto to Explode: BlockDAG, BNB, XRP, and Dogecoin

As the new quarter kicks off, investors are eager to find the next crypto to explode, but with so many projects in the market, it can be tricky to separate the promising from the overhyped.

Some cryptocurrencies are capturing attention with rapid price moves and short-term momentum, while others are quietly building real-world utility, strong networks, and growing communities that could pay off in the long run. Knowing how to spot adoption, technological innovation, and market interest can give buyers an edge.

This guide cuts through the noise for traders, highlighting four promising cryptos right now: BlockDAG, BNB, XRP, and Dogecoin! Let’s see which have the potential for big gains in the near term and in the future.

        1. BlockDAG: Early-Stage Gem with Massive Upside

BlockDAG has made a strong market debut, reaching $0.4 within its first few weeks and outperforming early market maker projections! For those looking to get in now, there’s still a short window of opportunity: for the next few hours, you can buy directly from the project at just $0.000022 for a limited time. This price is 85x lower than the BDAG price on Pionex. The window closes on April 8, when priority trading begins.

Beyond the price momentum, BDAG is showing solid technical performance. Its mainnet has already processed millions of blocks, handled hundreds of thousands of transactions, and facilitated over $1 billion in on-chain transfers. With speeds exceeding 10,000 transactions per second and a fast 2-second consensus time, the network is built for efficiency and scale.

Liquidity is also improving quickly. BDAG is already listed on exchanges like WEEX, Bifinance, and P2B, with more than 15 additional listings expected. At the same time, staking activity is growing, with over 1.19 billion tokens already locked in, an encouraging sign of user confidence and adoption.

BlockDAG: Early-Stage Gem with Massive Upside

Looking ahead, BlockDAG has made its mark as the potential next crypto to explode. A move from the current $0.0005 to a projected $1 price would represent a substantial 2,000x return for buyers! As global interest grows, this short window is attracting huge demand, giving early buyers a rare advantage.

        2. BNB: Fast, Cheap, and Versatile Token

BNB stands out because it’s deeply tied to one of the biggest ecosystems in crypto. Instead of being just a speculative coin, it actually powers an entire blockchain where people build apps, trade assets, and move money quickly. Transactions are cheap and fast, which makes it practical for everyday use compared to slower networks.

Another reason it’s attractive is its built-in supply reduction system, where some tokens are regularly removed from circulation, potentially increasing value over time. It also has multiple use cases, paying fees, staking, and participating in network decisions, so demand isn’t based on just one function.

Overall, BNB combines utility, strong backing, and a growing ecosystem, which is why many investors see it as a solid long-term crypto rather than just a short-term trade.

        3. XRP: The Cross-Border Payment Leader

XRP is appealing because it focuses on solving a real-world problem: moving money across borders quickly and cheaply. Traditional international transfers can take days and involve high fees, but XRP transactions settle in seconds with minimal cost.

That makes it especially useful for banks and payment providers. Unlike many cryptocurrencies, XRP isn’t trying to do everything; it sticks to payments, which keeps it efficient and focused. Its technology doesn’t rely on mining, so it uses less energy and remains consistent in performance.

Another advantage is its connection to institutional use cases, including experiments with digital currencies by central banks. This gives it a more practical angle compared to hype-driven coins. For investors, XRP represents a bet on global payments becoming faster and more blockchain-based in the future.

        4. Dogecoin: The Community-Driven Digital Currency

Dogecoin may have started as a joke, but it has grown into a widely used and recognized digital currency. Its biggest strength is simplicity; it’s easy to use, fast, and has very low transaction fees, making it ideal for small payments or tipping. Unlike more complex blockchains, Dogecoin doesn’t try to offer advanced features, which actually works in its favor by keeping it stable and accessible.

Dogecoin: The Community-Driven Digital CurrencyDogecoin: The Community-Driven Digital Currency

\Another key factor is its strong and active community, which has kept the coin relevant over the years. It also benefits from high visibility and support across major exchanges, meaning it’s easy to buy, sell, and use. While it’s more volatile than some other assets, its brand power and real-world usability continue to make it an interesting option in the crypto space.

The Next Crypto to Explode Revealed

BNB, XRP, and Dogecoin each have their own appeal. BNB benefits from being the native token of a major blockchain ecosystem. XRP excels in fast, low-cost cross-border payments, with adoption by banks and real-world payment trials giving it practical utility. Dogecoin remains a widely recognized digital currency with fast transactions, low fees, and a strong global community keeping it relevant.

However, BlockDAG clearly stands out as the most compelling candidate for the next crypto to explode. Its network processes over 10,000 transactions per second, handles billions in transfers, and already has 1.19 billion tokens staked. Entry to all this is just $0.000022 for the next hours. Analysts project it could reach $1, giving current buyers a rare opportunity for historic returns.

‘Tragic!’: Stacey Solomon slammed for Britain’s Got Talent Golden Buzzer act as she returns to the show

Stacey Solomon made a return to Britain’s Got Talent tonight – but she left fans genuinely baffled with her Golden Buzzer pick.

Stepping in for Simon Cowell, who missed some earlier auditions after feeling unwell, Stacey immediately slipped back into her judging role.

She even slammed down the red buzzer mid-show during one performance.

But it was her Golden Buzzer choice that got everyone talking.

Britain’s Got Talent’s Stacey baffles fans with Golden Buzzer

Stacey joined judges KSI, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden on Saturday night.

She was really impressed by a singer called Kristal, who performed a Whitney Houston number.

Meanwhile, an American act drew her attention by stripping off and throwing himself on top of a pile of mouse traps – but not in a good way.

Stacey was quick to slam down her Red Buzzer for him.

But later in the show, Stacey truly made her mark.

She awarded the Golden Buzzer to Braunstone Community School, where 100 pupils and their headteacher, Mr T, took the stage.

The children began singing All Things Bright and Beautiful, a hymn Amanda admitted was one of her favourites.

Midway through the performance, Mr T was pushed off stage by a child dressed as ‘Mini Mr T’.

He returned in a silver baseball cap and neon T-shirt that read ‘Mr T Raving Headteacher’, wheeling a speaker behind him.

The children handed glow sticks to the judges as the stage erupted, and they all began raving to tracks including the 1997 dance anthem, Freed From Desire.

The judges and live studio audience danced along.

Stacey was so taken by the pupils that she pressed the Golden Buzzer, sending them straight through to the semi-finals.

Golden confetti rained down as she told Mr T and the children: “You are what life is all about, you are the future!”

          ‘Most tragic Golden Buzzer’

          However, not everyone was impressed.

Plenty of fans questioned Stacey’s choice, arguing that kids dancing and waving glow sticks did not necessarily deserve a Golden Buzzer.

Writing on X, one viewer complained: “Where was the talent in the kids dancing to songs then? If that’s the case every kids’ school should be on this programme.”

Another added: “If thats golden buzzer worthy then #BritainsGotTalent #BGT is finished. It’s over produced and awful.”

A third said: “So all you need to do to get the gold buzzer on BGT is go on stage in colourful shirts and jump around? Got it.”

And someone else wrote: “Most tragic golden buzzer. Stacey doesn’t watch BGT I’m guessing.”

Some viewers did praise Stacey’s choice, however.

“Mr T is one cool headteacher what a fab guy!” one fan said.

Another commented, “These kids are so joyful!”

Stacey’s Golden Buzzer choice guarantees Braunstone Community School a spot in the live semi-finals, sparking debate over what counts as a BGT-worthy performance.

Meanwhile, KSI and Simon Cowell were left stunned by a separate magic trick involving a watermelon.
