We come to the final week of the Horizon Extreme Series, as Series 42 Spring dawns in Forza Horizon 5. It is with a heavy heart we wave goodbye to Series 42, as it’s been a pretty good one, but with one last season to crack on with, there is still a decent amount of stuff to get on with in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges.

The challenges are waiting, are you ready? I’ve got the tunes and the best cars for the job…

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Muddy Good Fun

We need to buy and drive an Ariel Nomad, and as luck would have it it was the prize for one of the events last week with Series 42 Winter!

I’m not sure I fancy the idea of an off roader with no body work, but it does look like fun.

Should you not have one in your garage, they are on sale at the Autoshow, priced at 93,000 Credits. Not too pricey this week.

Chapter 1 – Best Buggies

Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete. I have an A Class 800 tune, share code : 144860625. You might like it!

Chapter 2 – Honda Horses

Because this car has a Honda engine, it should be able to earn 6 stars at speed zones. Simples!

Chapter 3 – Light and Easy

Because it has uprated springs and dampers, we should be able to jump over 100m. So do it!

Chapter 4 – ?

When I did the step above, the game decided I had finished my run. So I’m not sure if there is a step 4…

Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes that are up for grabs with Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 42.

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

With the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer.

Series 42 Spring has lots on offer, so let’s get cracking.

The Trial – Seeing Double

This week, the challenge is to take a B Class 700 Toyota 86 or Subaru BRZ and win some races. I went with a BRZ, and the share code is : 139235813.

Normal service has resumed, with half the time last week spent battling the driverbots, and the other half my “teammates”.

Anyways, crack on here and attempt to win a Zenvo TS-R.

Eventlab 1 – AUSSIE CHAP Presents Scale X Tricks

We can only use S1 Class Track Toys for this event, and so I used the 2012 Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Share code for mine is : 129256081.

Long and confusing, this is a good track to race but too bloody complicated. Make sure the suggested route is on for this one is my advice.

The prize is an AMR Vulcan. Green and speedy!

Eventlab 2 – DARNYFLARSHNIFT Presents Synthwave Speedway Road Course

The class this time is S1 Class 900 Modern Supercar, and so I chose a Nissan GT-R Black Edition, share code : 394811233.

A fast and fabulous neon paradise, this is a great track. Just watch those chicanes!

We can win a Super Wheelspin.

PR Stunt 1 – Danger Sign – Baja Showjump

This week, all the PR Stunts need a S2 Class 998 car. I chose the Rimac Nevera. Share name for mine is “Nevera” and the GT is Red620Ti.

We need to jump over 300 metres.

If you do it, take a Super Wheelspin home.

PR Stunt 2 – Speed Zone – Ladera

Same car for this, I fancy.

Average over 100 mph to complete this challenge. Not too tricky.

Another Super Wheelspin awaits.

PR Stunt 3 – Trailblazer – Barranco

Only one car for off road in this class, and that is the BMW X5 M FE. Share code for mine is : 519084427.

Hit the finish line with over 35 seconds on the clock to win.Long and tricky, mind those trees!

Another Super Wheelspin.

Seasonal Championship 1 – Fresh Prince

We need a Hoonigan Bel Air (see what they did there?) for this set of races, and the tuning limit is B Class 700. The share name for mine is “Prince” with my GT, Red620Ti.

For winning out, we can take home an Hot Wheels Boneshaker.

Seasonal Championship 2 – Heavy Duty Dash

Pickups and 4X4’s to a max of B Class 700 for this set of races, and so I went with a Chevy Colorado ZR2 .The share code is : 153915151.

For winning, it is a Deberti F-150 that is the prize.

Part 3: Other Challenges

The Treasure Hunt, a photo challenge, Eliminator, Playground Games – not enough hours in the day!

Photo Challenge – #REACHINGSTARS

Photograph any Dodge Viper SRT10 ACr at the Horizon Mexico Circuit. Seems easy enough, right?

See the top of the piece for my artistic effort.

The location you need to be in is below.

The reward? A Farid Rueda Lion Classic Shades. Blimey.

Horizon Arcade Mini Games

The usual now – get to and complete round three of any Horizon Mini game category. Drift is best, but speed, chaos, wreckage and air are on offer if you don’t fancy that.

Take home a 3 whole points. Three!

Horizon Open  – Monster Vs Monster

Complete a Horizon Open event in a Rally Monster or Hypercar. I can’t give you a tune, as it could be any class, but just bear in mind you don’t need to win, just finish.

If you manage it, a new horn, “Wheelspin Win”, awaits. Can’t wait.

Treasure Hunt – Road Ready

The clue reads “Toys never deal well with asphalt, but perhaps a toy meant for the track can get to the front of the pack?.”

The picture shows the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, and so that’s the vehicle I chose.

Share code for mine is : 129256081.

Just take it and win a road race, and so I used the Horizon Oval as usual.

The treasure chest contains 300 FP, and the location is shown below.

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Trap – Nexus View

We need an S2 Class 998 Extreme Track Toy for this, so the Bugatti Divo will suffice. Share code : 169915677.

Hit the trap at over 210 mph to win out. Piece of cake.

A Super Wheelspin is your reward.

Seasonal Championship – To the Limit

The class this time is S2 Class 998 Hypercars, and so I went with the Koenigsegg Agera RS. Share code for mine is : 109282993.

The reward for racing? A Derberi Silverado.

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…

Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed  Zone – Reservoir View

We need an S2 Class 998 car for this, and when it comes to speed, it has to be a Koenigsegg Agera RS, no? Share code for mine is : 109282993.

Average over 95 mph through the zone to win. This is very difficult due to the bends in the track, but coming from the north is slightly easier

The prize is another Super Wheelspin. Sigh.

Seasonal Championship – Bugging Out

D Class Buggies? Be quicker to walk I reckon!

Still, the restrictions are there for a reason, and so I saddled up the Baja Bug, share code : 172938522.

Completing the championship will get us a Alumicraft Class 10.

The rewards for Series 42 and Spring in Forza Horizon 5

With Series 42 at Spring the reward cars are more than present – It’s the Radical RXC for 80 points and a Hot Wheels Twin Mill for 160 points that are up for grabs. If you’ve been following my little guides, then you’ll have those picked up.

Even more Rivals circuits have now been added with Series 42 – only two this time around though. There is the Tierra Prospero Circuit for petrol heads, and the Ek Balam Cross Country Circuit for those who get a charge out of EV’s. (Sorry). The prize total stays the same though, 4 points for making sure you turn in a clean lap.

Grab enough points and Series 42 Spring also sees you given access to the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR non exclusive, for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get a Backstage Pass, and these can be swapped for hard to find cars in the game. Handy!

Next week will see the start of Series 43, and while I have no details about what we’ll be doing in “Midnight Muscle”, no doubt I’ll need to give you tunes and cars as usual. See you then!

To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.

Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
