Wynne Evans news: Wynne fights to save £1m Go Compare job

Last night, Wynne issued a statement on social media, stating he “agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out”.

Now, the broadcaster is facing pressure to shelve Wynne’s latest gig, his new travelogue titled Wynne & Joanna: All At Sea, alongside Gavin & Stacey star Joanna Page.

Wynne has also stepped back from his BBC radio Wales show.

Reports claim that Wynne was recorded on video suggesting three-way sex with Strictly favourite Janette Manrara, using the term “spit roast”, whilst at a photocall to launch the Strictly tour.

Executives at Go Compare, the insurance comparison website which Wynne is best known for fronting as Gio Compario in its quirky TV commercials, are said to have held crisis meetings over Wynne’s future with the company, as reported by The Sun.

A source told the publication: “His deal with them hangs by a thread. Wynne is so popular with viewers, so it will be a very tough call, but the sense is it is hard to keep him on.”
