OSgrid has recovered from its recent month-long outage and is getting ready to celebrate its 19th birthday.

The party will run from July 20  to July 26 on the Event Plaza region on OSgrid, hypergrid address hg.osgrid.org:80:event plaza.

OSgrid is the oldest public OpenSim grid, a testing ground for OpenSim development, and a grid that allows anyone to connect regions for free. As a result, it’s the foundational pillar of the open metaverse — and I consider its LBSA Plaza to be the crossroads of the hypergrid.

This year’s celebration is all about sci-fi and the future.

“This birthday is a testament to every single volunteer, builder, scripter, and resident who has shaped our universe,” the grid announced. “It’s a celebration of your creativity, your resilience, and your passion for an open, free, and forward-looking metaverse.”

Residents are welcome to promote their regions or creative projects by requesting an exhibit plot and showing off their talents and builds.

To get a plot, contact an OSgrid admin in-world or on the grid’s Discord channel. Plots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis across the grid’s dedicated OSG19B regions.
