007 First Light sold 1.5 million units in its first 24 hours, making it the fastest-selling title in IO Interactive’s history, according to a release from IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios.

The James Bond game launched on May 27, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. IO Interactive said the launch figure covers worldwide sales across all platforms, but did not provide a platform-by-platform breakdown.

Alinea Analytics has added more detail on the game’s PC performance. In a May 29 newsletter, the analytics firm estimated that 007 First Light had sold more than 450,000 copies on Steam in its first three days, generating more than $25 million in gross revenue on Valve’s platform. Alinea described the figure as an estimate rather than publisher-confirmed sales data.

The Steam estimate would account for a large share of the game’s reported early sales, though IO Interactive has not released an official platform split. Alinea said it plans to return to the game with console estimates after more launch-window data is available.

The analytics firm also presented some interesting inferences to the makeup of the game’s Steam audience. It is estimated that the United States was the largest Steam market for 007 First Light at 29 percent of players, followed by China at 18 percent and the United Kingdom at 6 percent. Alinea also said around one-third of Steam players had previously played Hitman, indicating some crossover between IO Interactive’s existing audience and the new Bond release.

The sales update comes as some retailers have already started discounting the game. The Verge reported that Costco was selling the disc-based PS5 standard edition for $62.99, down from $69.99, while Fanatical listed the Steam standard edition at $60.89 and the deluxe digital edition at $69.59.

Those early discounts do not necessarily point to weak demand. They are limited retailer offers and sit alongside both the official 1.5 million first-day sales figure and Alinea’s estimate of strong early Steam sales.

For now, the available information paints a fairly clear picture of the launch week. People still like to play Bond games, and 007 First Light has opened with IO Interactive’s strongest first-day sales on record.
