Singer and “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum Kandi Burruss finalized her divorce from Todd Tucker in March 2026. This followed their initial filing in November 2025. Now, months later, the “RHOA” alum is opening up about healing, revealing that she’s still going through the process following her split.
Burruss recently interviewed with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in May 2026. In a clip, she was asked about how she navigates her busy life while also handling personal struggles. She first tearfully said, “How does anybody navigate?”
After that, the host noted that she hopes the singer and businesswoman is “taking time out for [herself] as she “wears so many hats.” Burruss responded, “I stay busy.”
She continued, “I got divorced recently after we were together for like 15 years.” When asked how she healed, she stated, “I don’t think I’m healed. I don’t. I’m not healed.” The mom of three then said, “I don’t like to talk about stuff because I don’t like to.

The interview with Burruss continued as she fought back tears while speaking about her divorce. Regarding the timeline, she said, “It’s been less than a year. That was July,” referring to when they split, not when it became public that they were divorcing.
The “RHOA” alum went on, “Simply, I’m one of those people, I try not to talk about, I guess like I said earlier, I don’t like to talk about stuff because I don’t like to be emotional. I don’t like to be sad. I like to lean into the positive, lean into the fun.”

For the most part, the “RHOA” alum is receiving a ton of support, with many stating they’re glad she’s allowing herself to be vulnerable for once. Burruss appeared on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” in February 2026. Notably, this appearance came months after the network honored her with the Wifetime Achievement award at BravoCon 2025. During the interview, host Andy Cohen asked the “RHOA” alum about her split from Tucker.
According to her, “It happened in July. In July was when I was like, ‘Oh, yeah. No, I can’t do this no more.” After that, he asked if there was a “specific thing” that led to the breakup.
Burruss responded, “Yeah, it was a specific situation that happened. I’m not talking about it on ‘Watch What Happens.’” She then discussed their current status, stating, “For the most part, even if we argue, we still try to be nice to each other.”
The “Housewives” alum added, “We’re co-parenting. Last night, we went to my son’s basketball game. So, we were there sitting right next to each other. I’m sure people was like, ‘Uh…’ But I feel like once we’re done with this, I really feel that we will be able to be great co-parents.”
Kandi’s One-Woman Show Is Ongoing
Burruss launched a one-woman show, “I Do, I Did, I’m done,” in April 2026 at the Atlanta City Winery. Since then, the music icon has expanded with dates in other cities. The final show is currently slated for July 17, according to City Winery.
In the stage production, Burruss sings songs from her career and reportedly implies through song that infidelity was the cause of her split from Tucker. Aside from the one-woman show, the “RHOA” alum is producing another Broadway show, this time, a revival of August Wilson’s “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone.”
