Marvel Rivals is currently having a huge event to celebrate its first anniversary. During it, you can earn numerous rewards, from free Units to new cosmetics. Unfortunately, the event hasn’t gone without controversy. While NetEase allows you to earn Units for free, some of them are only available for a limited time and will disappear from your inventory.
Earlier today, NetEase released a new patch, fixing a problem with the Rivals Assemble event. Thanks to this, you can now unlock 600 Units from the event much faster. Unfortunately, the game has another issue, and that is a new currency. You can get 1500 Units by logging in, but these are only available during the event. If you don’t use them, they will vanish.
Marvel Rivals has a new currency, and it’s quite problematic
Marvel Rivals has been out for just under a year, yet it has released many new currencies. Even the three initial currencies: Chrono Tokens, Lattice, and Units, were confusing enough. Now, it seems that every event has a new currency, and the latest one brought limited-time Units.
If you now have 1000 Units and you get 1500 more by logging in, you won’t have 2500 in total. Instead, new Units will only be available for a limited time, and if you don’t use them, you will lose them.
While the new currency in Marvel Rivals is free, it’s also predatory. We hope that NetEase will simply release regular Units in the future and allow us to spend them whenever we like.
Still, the new currency can be useful, especially if you decide to take advantage of Black Friday deals. By stacking discounts, you can get several new cosmetics without spending a cent!
